So, this is mostly because I need to vent about something, but...
This time on Ahsoka:
- never thought Huyang would end up as my favourite. I love his bitching about them not doing as they were told. Ahsoka is getting it in the montrals ALL THE WAY to Ezra. She'll never hear the last of it. And neither will Sabine, when they rescue her. And him with Jacen - that is going to be an epic relationship when the kid starts training. (Huyang as the new Yoda - grandmaster to all, all the sass, less of the outright lunacy.)
- ANAKIN! okay, yeah, so technically he appeared last week, but that was so much fun. Hayden looked like he was having an absolute BALL. And we got to see him playing Clone Wars Anakin, who is far superior to the angst ridden movie version. And, as bonuses -
* bb Ahsoka. Who, very interestingly, was wearing entirely the wrong outfit for it being "one of their first missions". I wonder why that might be? A touch inappropriate for a real-life child to wear? Hmm?
* REX! Rex in armour, and a single line, but I feel it bears saying again. REX!!! (I so wanted him to lift his bucket, and be Daniel Logan under there. Still time I suppose - I reckon Skyguy is going to appear again.)
* Did anyone else look out for familiar armour? Like, as soon as the first clone appeared?
And now, the point I forewarned you about. And anyone who actually pays attention to my rants about appropriate tagging will probably have guessed:
- why does it have to be BLOODY PURGILL??? That's rhetorical - I know why. I realised after the first 2 eps they were going to appear. That was, after months of telling my family I was really looking forward to Ahsoka, and then trying to tell them about her without their eyes glazing over, my brother asked me what I thought (no one else had watched yet), and I realised. Purgill. Blasted purgill in all their tentacley glory.
I just don't watch when they're on screen. I probably miss some things because of that but, just, nope. They were bad enough in Rebels, and I can usually cope with animated.
(Not always. Not a fan of Morgana in Little Mermaid 2, and I noped out of Finding Dory when I saw the poster. Apparently she's sweet, but no. Ursula, otoh, is almost entirely fine, despite the fact she's probably the cause. Octopus baddie, THAT scene, on a big screen at age 4? Yeah, it's probably her. I can never watch Blue Planet. Can't even deal with cuttlefish. Yeesh.)
And, just so I'm not leaving this on a negative, or my own personal weirdness, I'm pretty sure there are other people in the World Between the Worlds who might want to say hi to Ahsoka (and Ezra). Just sayin'...

This episode was so beautiful, I almost don't mind that Hera thought the area was clear once she made certain no one was hiding *in front of* any of the giant rocks at the henge.

who needs authorization?
Pairings & characters: Leia Organa & Hera Syndulla, Mon Mothma (mentioned), Jacen Syndulla (mentioned), Hamato Xiono (mentioned)
Category: Gen
Other tags: Hera Syndulla is So Done, Leia Organa is So Done, Missing Scene, Pre-Episode: s01e05 Part Five: Shadow Warrior (Star Wars: Ahsoka TV)
Notes: I’ve been in “Senator Organa says she can only give us cover for so long,” brainrot for a full 24 hours. This is the result. Enjoy <3
Summary: General Syndulla and Senator Organa make a deal — for Ezra.
AO3 Link
“Leia, you should’ve seen her face,” Hera paced around her office on Home One, her holoprojection coming in and out of frame.
The senator was in her own office on Chandrila.
“Okay,” she said, “Tell me again, from the top.” Leia believed everything Hera had already told her, but she wanted to hear the story again to come up with some kind of plan.
“We were attacked by Imperial loyalists on Corellia working for Morgan Elsbeth,” Hera began.
Leia pulled up her file on Elsbeth, “The Navy woman?” She broke in, skimming over the file quickly.
“Yes,” Hera nodded, “She was arrested not too long ago as an Imperial sympathizer, but broke out of the prison ship she was detained on.”
“Got it,” Leia said simply, “Go on.”
“The senators on the call with the chancellor so graciously reminded me that there are former Imperials working all throughout the New Republic government,” Hera continued, “And that Imperial remnants don’t pose a threat anymore,” she shook her head as if in disbelief.
“But with Elsbeth’s connection to Thrawn…” Leia trailed off, still thinking.
“If she’s able to contact him or find him, those Imperial remnants suddenly have a leader — and a really good one, at that,” Hera finished for her.
The possibility of renewed Imperial remnants being able to come together made Leia’s stomach turn. Part of her couldn’t believe Chancellor Mothma allowed Hera to get walked over by senators who obviously knew nothing, who had the luxury of waiting out the war to see who came out on top of it. She’d grown up around the Imperial senate, she knew that compromise and at least trying to hear each other was key. But Hera said it herself: “long live the Empire” was not the loyalty they were looking for.
“Mon,” Hera gave a dark chuckle, “She looked uneasy, afraid, maybe, but wouldn’t stand up for me, or for Ezra,” she was pacing again, “So much for him being a hero to the New Republic, right?” Hera stopped and looked to Leia, hurt in her eyes.
Leia swallowed. She worked with a lot of people during the Rebellion, and she vowed a long time ago that if any of them needed a favor, she’d do it, minimal questions asked (or no questions, outside of natural curiosity). She’d already cashed in favors for Hera, and she’d become a friend, which afforded her many more. But for Ezra, this could be as close as she was able to get.
Leia sighed, “I’m guessing you didn’t get authorization to pursue the matter further, then?” She felt silly for even asking.
“After discussing with the senators, she told me no,” Hera said bitterly, “I don’t have authorization to leave Home One, let alone to go to the Denab system, where Elsbeth is heading.”
“Even though at the shipyard they said ‘long live the Empire?’” Leia could still hardly believe that fact, “And Mon was visibly shaken up by the mention of Thrawn?” It was even more of a shock to her that Mon Mothma would back down at even a shadow of Imperial loyalty.
Hera just nodded.
“I can’t just sit back and do nothing, Leia,” she said quietly after a long moment.
“How can I help?” Leia asked, for Hera and for Ezra.
Relief flooded Hera’s face, obvious even in holoprojection form, “I need you to keep the chancellor and those senators occupied, especially Xiono.”
Leia rolled her eyes at the mere mention of Xiono — Mon she could handle, but pure idiots like him got on her last nerve. But it was an easy enough task, “You got it, General,” she replied, “What about Home One?”
Hera grinned, “These are my people, Senator, I’m sure they can come up with something.”
There was the Hera that Leia knew and loved.
“Safe travels to the Denab system, General,” Leia smiled, “and tell Jacen hello for me.”
“Thank you, Leia,” Hera was sincere, “and good luck to you, especially with Xiono.” The holocall ended, Hera’s grinning projection blinking off.
Leia took a deep breath and rolled her shoulders back. It was show time.

To Love and Be Loved
read it on the AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/50297491 by thehouseofblack Kanan remembered the happy and proud faces of his Master and Grandmaster when he first stepped into the afterlife. Depa's smile had been radiant as she enveloped him in a warm hug, her whispers of pride and love echoing around them in the boundless expanse of the Force. It had been perfect – a reunion with his beloved Master and a sense of serenity that transcended anything he had experienced in life. He had finally been at peace. So when he decided to attend one of the Council meetings after hearing Grand Master Windu talk about it being about Ahsoka Tano, he never really expected this.   Master Kenobi's eyes sparkled with affection as he leaned closer to his former Padawan, intertwining their hands together and bringing it to his lips. “I wish we didn’t leave our bed so early today, I already miss the feel of you clenching around me, dear one.” Words: 3652, Chapters: 1/1, Language: English Fandoms: Star Wars - All Media Types, Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Star Wars: Ahsoka (TV) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings, No Archive Warnings Apply Categories: M/M Characters: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Qui-Gon Jinn, Kanan Jarrus, Depa Billaba, Mace Windu, Plo Koon, Adi Gallia, Yoda (Star Wars), Mentioned Ahsoka Tano - Character Relationships: Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker, Depa Billaba & Kanan Jarrus & Mace Windu Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Canon Compliant, it works both ways tbh, Pre-Episode: s01e05 Part Five: Shadow Warrior (Star Wars: Ahsoka TV), Force Ghost Obi-Wan Kenobi, Possessive Obi-Wan Kenobi, Obi-Wan Kenobi Loves Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Little Shit, Force Ghost Anakin Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker Loves Obi-Wan Kenobi, Sweet Anakin Skywalker, love that it's a tag, Bottom Anakin Skywalker, it's implied - Freeform, Top Obi-Wan Kenobi, Force Afterlife (Star Wars), Force Ghost Qui-Gon Jinn, Force Ghost Yoda (Star Wars), Force Ghost Kanan Jarrus, Force Ghost Mace Windu, Force Ghost Shenanigans (Star Wars), Established Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker, Crack, Obikin's Codependency read it on the AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/50297491

The more i think about tbobf s01e05 the less real it feels, i feel like someone is gonna shake me any moment and i'll wake up from my wet fanfic dream.
Like, Din Djarin is really out there being a silent force of defiance, going against tradition, against religion, against the supposed concept of "original family", against everything he knows because he knows one simple thing above all these concepts: he knows that kindness by choice is the most powerful force in the galaxy, and grogu taught him that. So he's losing everything he has to hold unto that connection.
Naming things in The Mandalorian universe is controling them and owning them, it's sort of a bonding of fate. Moff Gideon names Din Djarin against his will to show that he controls him and owns him. Noone knew Din Djarin's name before Gideon because he's a free man, he belongs to nothing and noone.
He gives his name to Cara Dune as a pass for freedom, safety and care, he offers his name as a way of give Cara and Greef control over their lives. He struggles with Grogu's name because he fails to understand him and connect to him.
And when he asks the Armourer to forge a gift for Grogu, he can no longer be satisfied by saying a foundling. He names Grogu, claims him, it's his son, his child, and Din Djarin Protects what is his with everything he's got.
He is on a journey of learning to not compromise the softness he feels inside, and sure, Ahsoka Tano could train him to use the darksaber; but there's only truly one other person who can help him plant his feet firm into the ground, someone who can show him what it actually takes to choose kindness and not flinch. There's only one other powerful warrior who has gone in the face of every force and every mentor and every tradition in order to choose love. A person who changed the course of a villain's life by choosing to name him simply as "Anakin Skywalker", and was thickheaded enough to choose compassion again, and again, and again.
Din Djarin has no way left but to seek Luke Skywalker, if he wants to move forward. And i Think Luke Skywalker has no way left but to meet a certain mandalorian either.
