It's way past five in the morning by the time I post this, and I'm just sitting there trying to sort out my thoughts. Obviously, I loved SnK. As a lore enjoyer, I loved the plot integrity and how every thing we're told goes back (or turns out connected in some other way) to something we've known nearly from the start (of a story, of an arc, of a season, etc), and how when you finish you can really see all the dots connect and give a clear image. And also I'm fascinated by how the story unfolds in bigger and bigger scale with the passage of (screen)time, and how the horizons broaden accordingly. Oh, and yeah, the pacing is really good imo: nothing felt either rushed or overly slow to me.

As for the characters, I rarely hate or even dislike characters, like, not in an 'as a person' sense but in an 'as a well-written character for the story I've been told' sense, regardless of whether the character's moral compass is similar to my own or not. But here I think I've taken a strong disliking to Floch, which is a shame as (at least some of) his ideas are rational and understandable, and initially I thought I'd like him.

I think S4 made me feel as many things as had all of the previous seasons, which is undoubtedly good. And this is not a way to say that seasons 1 to 3 were underwhelming, far from that actually.

I remember hearing back in the day that in the anime the finale is darker than in the manga, but it didn't seem all that dark to me, and from what my friend had told me about the original version I don't even see it being 'darker' than that. But anyways, the finale was certainly satisfying, I'm more than content with it.

Once again, I'm glad to have, watched it, and I dare say I'm glad to have watched it, specifically, because at least the fighting scenes should work much better being dynamic and animated than static and drawn as manga panels.
