U HAVE WHITE COLLAR OCS??? TELL ME EVERYTHING!! (pls)

I do!!! At the moment, I have two White Collar OCs. There's Alana, who's a romantic interest for Neal, and then there's Eliana, who's a younger half-sister of Neal's that he doesn't know exists until at some point during the course of the show.

Alana's backstory has some darker details and I try to just briefly give a gist of it, so just a heads up on that. Also, I do start to ramble a bit so sorry in advance lol

Alana was actually childhood friends with Neal back when he was in witness protection and they dated in high school for a few years, but she was kidnapped during the summer before her senior year. The police looked for her, but eventually she was presumed dead because they never found her. Neal was distraught and this was right around the time he was finding out the truth about his father, so he left St. Louis.

Alana was held hostage for a long time, I'm talking like maybe five years. But anyway, she does eventually get found on accident because the police had a warrant to search the house for an entirely different crime. They find her in the basement and she's taken to a mental health ward for a while. After a year, she tries to check herself out and that's a whole ordeal with her parents, but she does eventually leave.

She leaves St. Louis and goes to college in Chicago maybe. She studies fine arts, art history, something along those lines and works in museums before moving to New York to become a museum curator. It's in New York that she just happens to bump into Neal. He comes into the museum she's working at and she recognizes him, but he doesn't see her because he's busy working with Peter. She sees that they're FBI, finds their offices, and essentially just goes up and says she has a meeting with Danny Brooks (which is the name she knows him by). They pass the message to the office, this freaks Neal out, he goes to meet her, and they get reunited.

Then she's just there for the canon events, although I'm sure some of them end up differently. Her and Neal have a slow burn, friends to lovers kind of situation. So yeah, that's the gist of Alana!

And now, onto Eliana. She's much less fleshed out, but basically she's Neal's half-sister. She's nine years younger than him and was born after Neal's dad went on the run. He stuck around for a while, but he was an awful father and her mom wasn't great either. She essentially had to raise herself and, when she eventually found out the truth about her dad when she was 16, she ran away from home. Her dad didn't teach her much, but he did talk a lot about how to be a criminal, so that's what she did. She got some fake identities that made her older than she was and she started pickpocketing to make ends meet. This eventually turn into breaking and entering, which turned into intricate robbery plans, which turned into her stealing all sorts of stuff from museums and other valuable places.

At some point during the course of the show, Neal finds out that she exists and tries to help her leave the criminal life. Their whole thing is just trying to figure out how to navigate this new family relationship and how to make the family that neither of them ever really had, but that they both desperately wanted.

OC ask: Which, out of all the OC crossovers we’ve talked about, is your favourite? Which pairing between our OC’s do you think is perfect? Which one is the most fun?

Ooo, thanks for the ask! This was a fun one!

It's honestly super tricky to pick out my favorite of all the OC crossovers we've talked about. Every single crossover post was super fun, but for the sake of this ask, I'm going to try touching on a different one for each question.

If we're looking at favorites, I enjoyed talking about how Alana and Hazel might get along because it's fun to think about the conversations those two might get up to. The crossover discussion about how Abby and Liliya might get along was another fun one. It was fun thinking about how Abby might get along with someone so similar to herself. I usually think about how Abby functions with the adults in her life, so I enjoyed the opportunity to talk about someone she would consider a peer.

As for the ones that are perfect or work the best, I think that our discussion about Abby and Olive makes a lot of sense. Logistically, the crossover works in my mind and I also think that their characters work together. I like that idea of Abby having another adult that she can trust and look up to that isn't just her dad. In that same vein, I loved the crossover discussion with Alex, Jakob, and Rebecca. It's one of the crossovers that makes the most sense to me and I love the potential interactions that it brings up. There's something about Alex figuring out how to deal with Rebecca's presence that I find really fun to think about.

And then there's the most fun crossovers. Gosh, I feel like they're all really fun, but I guess if I had to pick I might go with Addie and Amelie. It was a brief discussion, but I think there's fun potential there. I love the idea of them being co-conspirators and talking about the twins together lol. I also liked talking about Rebecca and Elena. The idea of Elena's apartment turning into a little spot for vigilantes to get medical assistance is very funny to me. I like the image of Rebecca chilling on Elena's couch while she rummages around for a first aid kit that is way too big for a normal person.

🔀 for Luna Moore??? Look i love crossovers.

Ooo, this is an interesting one since I don't actually have any Sherlock OCs on this blog.

I feel like Mollie might work well with her. If I'm remembering correctly, Luna is into photography, which Mollie would definitely find interesting. She's an artist and she loves talking with other artists. I think she might also relate to the whole idea of having a secret side to yourself or your family. For Mollie, it's the fact that she's got these odd powers, and for Luna it's the whole secret agent family thing.

I feel like maybe Alana Montague too, although I'm not one hundred percent sure why. There's just some something about their vibes that seems to work in my mind. They're both sophisticated, maybe a little unsuspecting on the outside. But they've got they're secrets and a bit of a secret edge to them.

🔀 for Delilah Miller (this is my last one…I think)

I think that of my two Umbrella Academy OCs Delilah would get along the most with Mollie, but she would probably know more about Elena. So I’m gonna touch on both of those, I think.

I’m honestly not sure why Mollie stood out to me, but I feel like they would get along. They could complain to each other about how exasperated they get with their stubborn and sometimes reckless boyfriends. Mollie also understands the struggle with having weird, maybe unexpected powers so I can imagine them bonding over that.

Growing up in the Academy, I imagine that Elena would have met Delilah on plenty of occasions. I think they probably would have been friendly enough around each other, although Elena was very closed off while she was still at the Academy. She would have been difficult to talk to. After the Academy breaks up, Elena forges her own path and starts to open up a bit, so she would be a lot easier to get to know at that point.

As for other fandom OCs, I’m not super sure. I’m feeling maybe Alana Montague. I know Delilah moves back to England for a while and Alana works in different museums a lot, so I can picture them just casually bumping into each other on the street or something. They’ve both had difficult childhoods, so if they did ever meet they might just talk about that over a cup of coffee or something.

The fact we both have White Collar OC’s lol. I know their under construction, but what can you tell me about Ashlyn Montague?

Alright, so Ashlyn Alana Montague. She isn't super fleshed out yet, but I do have a general overview figured out for her.

Ashlyn Alana was born and raised in St. Louis, an only child to parents who wanted but couldn't afford to have more kids.

She was friends with Neal back when he was in witness protection and they dated all throughout high school, but she was kidnapped at the end of junior year.

At some point she is presumed dead and Neal leaves St. Louis just like in canon. She is found several years later and eventually moves to New York in an attempt to find Neal. The specifics are still not totally worked out, but that's the gist of it.

Not super sure on personality or what she does yet, but she was bullied as a child, so probably somewhat shy. Definitely suffering the effects of the trauma being kidnapped would cause, although she refuses to talk to anyone about it.

She doesn't have a faceclaim yet or a Pinterest board, but I am working on that. However, I picture her with dark hair, hazel eyes, and I imagine she's pretty short.

Ooo, okay! Sorry in advance for the rambling.

10. Do they like children? Do children like them? Do they have or want any children? What would they be like as a parent? Or as a godparent/babysitter/ect?

Yeah, I definitely think that Alana, at the very least, likes children. She thinks they're sweet, she volunteered at a kid's art program back when she was in high school, she just generally likes working with children. Even now, she occasionally helps set up family events at the museums she works for or is consulting at because she really does think that kids should have access to art and history and whatnot.

Kids love her. She's very sweet and very patient, so they just tend to gravitate toward her. I think they can tell that she just knows how to handle children. As for wanting kids herself, that's a tricky question. If you asked her when she was in high school, the answer would have been an emphatic yes. She always wanted to have that perfect little family, and then she was kidnapped. That changed everything. When she finally was freed, she didn't really know who she was anymore.

I think if someone asked her that question now, she wouldn't know how to answer. Deep down, that desire for a perfect family is still there and she still wants to raise her own children so badly, but it's sort of obscured from view. She's terrified of screwing up and ruining their lives. She's convinced that she will never be truly healed enough to be a decent mother. So she would probably just give a noncommittal answer of "I'm not sure" or "maybe when I'm ready." She's just not sure if she ever will be.

If she did ever have children (in a time and place where she's finally moved past that fear), I think she would be a bit strict and protective. She went through terrible things in her younger years and she would do everything in her power to make sure her kids never go through that. But I think that, with the right partner, she could balance that out so she doesn't end up crowding her kids. She would be a very kind mother, emotionally open, and always ready to listen when needed.

The same would go for kids that aren't her own, although maybe less extreme. She would quietly observe, ready to offer advice if needed or another person to talk to that isn't their parents. I think she'd also try to be a bit fun, since there isn't that overhanging stress of these being her children. Their parents can do the parenting, she'll take them out to ice cream.

15. Are they good at cooking? Do they enjoy it? What do others think of their cooking?

I wouldn't say Alana is good at cook, but I also wouldn't say she's bad at it. She can follow a recipe just fine and get decent results, but she's not one to just sit down and make a masterpiece. She doesn't enjoy cooking all that much and just does it because it's a necessity for day-to-day life. She would much rather have somebody cook for her. People don't really have much of an opinion about her cooking. I'm sure they like some of the recipes she's made, but it's not really something to form a personal opinion about.

47. How do they act in a formal occasion? What do they think of black tie wear? Do they enjoy fancy parties and love to chit chat or loathe the whole event?

Oh, Alana fits right in. She has become very good at putting on a character when it comes to formal events. Working and consulting at museums also means attending some fancy parties full of stuck up people trying to accomplish their agendas. She doesn't mind black tie attire, she thinks that's the fun part, getting all dressed up for work. The food is also always delicious and she doesn't mind the people watching. She does hate the meaningless conversations she seems to have on repeat at every one of these events. It also took her a long time to get used to being in a room full of so many people and it does still make her a little uneasy, but she can usually deal with it.

🧸 - On a scale of 1 - 10, how ‘soft’ is your OC? 1 being the edgiest of edges and 10 being a literal teddy bear that cries at everything? (Bonus questions, where on the scale would your OC place themselves, and where would they like to be on the scale?)

Ooo, this is a tricky one because Alana is, in theory, pretty soft. She's a sweetheart, she's pretty sensitive when it comes to certain things, but I feel like she would actually have to be somewhere around a 5. During the kidnapping and subsequent hostage situation she endured for years, she couldn't really afford to be soft and some of that stuck around after she was freed.

As for where she would place herself, I think she'd call herself an 8. She thinks she's a lot weaker then she is and I don't think she realizes just how much her traumatizing experience has changed her. And she would probably want to be around a 6 so she can , in her words, "be a little less of a wimp."

🍺 - What kind of drunk are they? (e.g. talkative, sleepy, flirty etc.)

She gets very emotional when she's drunk and she does not stop talking. She doesn't just talk about random things though, it's usually about whatever emotional topic happens to be on her mind. When she was younger and just getting drunk at high school parties, her classmates called her a killjoy. Now that she has far worse topics to bring up, she avoids getting drunk altogether. She hates that vulnerability and the potential for sharing things she doesn't want to share.

✨ What is your OC's favorite holiday, and why? Do they change how they present themselves, appearance and personality-wise? Or do they stay the same? Does this holiday hold some important meaning to them? Or does it just give them an excuse to party or be different?

Ooo, I had to think about this one for a while. I feel like she would probably be a Christmas sort of girl, especially since it's meant to be a really warm and family-oriented season. I initially thought Halloween, what with the opportunity to hide for a day, but I actually feel like that might just make her more nervous.

As for Christmas celebrations, she wouldn't do anything too crazy. She might put on some little Christmas tree earrings or wear an unobtrusive Christmas sweater. She would probably be a little more cheerful, but other than that I don't think she would change too much. It's less an outward holiday for her and instead more of an opportunity to be around her loved ones. Christmas was a big holiday for her as a kid before she went missing, so it brings her a sense of normalcy and a bit of nostalgia. She doesn't care about the parties or the presents, although she will partake if someone she cares about asks her to. She really just enjoys the way the world seems a little brighter when it's Christmas time.
