Another big chuck of editing has been completed! At this point, I'm fairly confident the next update will be ready for release next month!

Hoping for the first week or two, but the bug testing will be the deciding factor there, so we'll just have to wait and see if my code behaves itself...

the thought has entered my mind once again so I'm gonna make a post about it, y'all— I am So Tired of non-consensual kink not being tagged in omo writing in so many places

which like... I know it's not as easy to spot as non-con for explicit sex, but it's still a thing! and it is so very prominent in the community in certain places!

so, what does non-con omorashi look like, for those unsure?

(please note I'm specifically talking about sexual kink! the stuff written with the purpose of being horny and whatnot, because that's the part of the community I know)

non-con in kink can look a lot of different ways, but the biggest one I see in omo content is the scenario of "x character is secretly turned on by y's desperation and is either passively or actively encouraging it". if y is not aware that x is super into them pissing themselves, and especially if x is actively making it more difficult for y to get relief, that's non-con! that's x subjecting y to their kink without y having the knowledge to consent to this.

another one I see a lot is voyeuristic stories, where the person into it might not be actively engaging, but they're still getting off on other people's desperation. this is not Quite as explicitly non-con, but it's still one of those things I personally would tag, especially if there's a focus on the element of "they don't know how much I'm enjoying this" or the character goes out of their way to witness someone's humiliation, even if they don't actively ever interfere.

generally, if all characters aren't actively enjoying themselves, or if someone is kept in the dark on what's Really going on here, there's a strong possibility there's non-con elements in there.

(please note: this doesn't really apply the same way to solo character fics? there's no one else there to Consent With, so if someone is having a bad time, but it's solo content, that's more omo whump or something similar; consensual kink only really applies when there are multiple people in the story)

there is, of course, a lot of content that may also tread the line where it's like... kink was not explicitly discussed and consented to, but both parties are clearly into it, since sometimes kink negotiation just doesn't fit into the story, and that's fine!! I personally like to tag that sort of stuff as dubcon to be safe, but I can still see arguments being made other ways.

and it's not like there's anything wrong with making any of this content either! fiction is a great outlet to explore fantasies that wouldn't be cool to indulge with real people; it's just a matter of recognising when something is non-con and putting the proper tagging in place so people can avoid it! giving people the ability to curate their experience is so fucking important and I just. please please learn what non-con kink and fetish looks like and tag appropriately, it means a lot to those that don't wanna see it 💜

I think the hair change only happens if you ask Shadowheart to undress first. (If you need to take screenshot or smth) That said I hope that bug gets fixed in the next patch.

Actually there is just so many Shadowheart stuff that is bugged or otherwise unavailable in the game that if Larian suddenly decided to care about that it would make the rest of the fandom complain about her getting so much content.

I've heard there's a couple bugs with Shadowheart—complete hearsay that if you play a Selûnite, one unique kiss doesn't trigger?—and the supposedly recently added "Act 2 banter" when romancing her has literally never triggered for me either. Dunno what else is bugged, but it's unfortunate either way. I hope it all eventually gets fixed, though.

Tbh, I think there's other companions that need more/fleshed out stuff (especially Wyll, give the man a fuller sex scene and let him address the PC differently during a romance...) but I take most of the people getting really worked up about other characters getting "more" than their faves with a grain of salt. There's far too often some level of misunderstanding going on, like when people thought that the Valentine's Update was only about kisses.

happy one year of semantic error the series!! I rediscovered these littered through my sketchbook a few months ago, so thought I’d share them now (with some quick colour thrown on)

I made some magic wands!!! I got the wooden wand bases from the dollar tree several months ago, and finally got around to sanding the edges and painting them!

The heart wand is inspired by the Powerpuff Girls! The hearts are based from the outro and the ribbons are based off the girls! All the ribbons are just what I've had laying around (the pink one is something I've had in a junk drawer for 10 years akshskjdk), they're all different textures and are nice to swish around!

The star wand is just something I thought would look nice! I wanted an ombre effect, so I mixed white paint into the yellow twice so the center would look brighter than the edges! And then, for the handle, I wanted it to kinda look like the night sky, and I'm very pleased how the color-mixing turned out! I also had some glow-in-the-dark slick/puffy paint, so i just brushed 2 layers on the star and!! it glows!!! It's kinda hard to see in the picture, but it looks better and cooler in real life, trust me, lol

I'm really happy with how they turned out!!! They're really fun to spin and twirl in my hand, and I absolutely adore the size and weight of them - it's surprisingly satisfying to gently bonk myself on the head with the flat part, lmao. They're fun to fidget with, look nice as room decor, and! most importantly! are nice for my regression!!!

THANK YOU @devirnis, seriously, holter monitors are Not Fun. they glossed over it on the show with buck telling connor that he’d been in a cell phone-free zone for the past 48 hours, but what did that really entail??? they took a man who had been living in a coma dream where his close friends and family were basically ripped away from him, and then didn’t let him use his phone for 48 hours??? hello???????? how was he able to make sure he wasn’t dreaming if he couldn’t have his phone??? he would’ve been so isolated and it makes me feel insane!

since you asked so nicely, here’s a snippet. i don’t know if i’ll ever finish it, because it sort of became about buck and bobby’s relationship when i wanted it to have a buddie slant, and then i got the holter monitor taken off and i was normal again. anyways, enjoy! lol

Buck hasn’t told anybody about this, but—sometimes when he wakes up, he can’t figure out if he’s dreaming or not. When he’s alone in his apartment, it’s difficult to tell. There’s no strange miniature version of the Santa Monica Pier Ferris wheel where his record player usually sits, so that’s something, but who’s to say it’s just not there because his mind has decided not to focus on it anymore?

The first time he woke up and couldn’t figure out if he was still dreaming, he called Bobby. Pretty sure it freaked him out, too, because Buck hadn’t realized how early it was when he called, his thumb shaking so hard it took him three tries to unlock his phone. But Bobby did answer, and he sounded like himself, low and calm, if not a little concerned.

By now, he’s satisfied with only sending a text making sure that Bobby’s alive and safe. Seeing him would be better, honestly. Something to look forward to about returning to work, even though the thought of it makes his stomach feel weird and heavy.

But now that he’s wearing a holter monitor, how is he going to text Bobby if he can’t use his phone?
