At long last, I was FINALLY able to watch Timestalker last night! (Thank you, @aneurinallday!) The whole film is like walking through a disjointed, gauzy dream but in a good way (parts of it reminded me of the 1970 czechoslovakian film "Valerie and Her Week of Wonders" of all things). I really liked all the performances, but Aneurin was a main reason I've been wanting to see it so badly (Alice being another, of course) and he did NOT disappoint! Pretty much every iteration of his character, Alex, is some sort of buffoon, and the fact that he looks so pretty throughout makes for a hilarious contrast. He's a fame-seeker who's also rather pathetic and riddled by self-doubt, which both makes you feel sorry for him but also highlights how misguided Agnes's pursuit of him is. I can't get over this moment in which he's crestfallen to realize he's not the notorious, feared highwayman he aspires to be.

And don't get me started on his behind-the-scenes confidence struggles when he's an 80s heartthrob rock star. I was both howling with laughter and thinking "aw, poor baby!"

Anyway, would recommend! I know a lot of people want to see this for Jacob Anderson, too. He's great in it and has a very interesting, if mysterious, role.

Matt: “On the day he filmed, there were loads of children in the park, when they did the chase, and the children just loved him, didn’t they? He was just dancing around in this monkey costume, taking all the applause. I think he liked it.”

Alice: “Noel was well up for playing a monkey. You know, didn’t even have to ask, he was just there, on day one, dressed as one.”
