I started rambling about my experience with kh and then it turned into khux and then it just turned into me rambling about Ryou and my art journey????? enjoy I guess,

it’s very long but there’s art in there :)

It’s funny to think about my kh journey as a whole tbh, I grew up watching my mom play video games, which included kh1 and 2. I wasn’t allowed to play the playstation2 we owned BUT I did have a gameboy so the first game I played was CoM (after my mom finished it ofc,) so I guess you could say I’ve always been passionate about kh “””side games””” lmao but I did fall off of kh very quickly bc again, I wasn’t allowed to play our PS2 and also I Am A Terrible Gamer I’ve Never Finished CoM I’m sorry you all had to find out like this, but then 358/2 came out when I was in middle school and!!! I didn’t care and I didn’t play idk why lol

Anyway, fast forward to high school I’m like 15 and my older sister, who HAS been keeping up with kh, has a wallpaper on her phone of roxas and ventus. And bc I haven’t kept up I say “nice roxas wallpaper” and she says “thanks but it’s roxas and ventus” and I proceeded to get so mad that I was determined to prove to her that her wallpaper was just roxas twice and then I fell down the BBS rabbit hole and suddenly I was reading about vanitas and then I’m reading the fan translations of the BBS novel and I’m crying??? I am sobbing???? and that’s how I actually got into kh for real lol we are vanitas stans before we are people,

It’s so funny how I thought I was some kh super fan, knowing all this stuff that I spent so long reading and rewatching cutscene movies, but I never once, SOMEHOW NEVER ever came across khx. It’s so absurd and bizarre I seriously have no idea how I never once encountered khx prior to khux. I suppose that has to do with the fact I wasn’t involved in the fandom? In early high school I had stepped away from fandoms as a whole and I didn’t have any interest in really posting content or interacting with fans anymore bc of how burnt out I was from a previous fandom,

but khux released! and I was so hype and excited for it! on launch day I was a senior in high school, I had ran around to every “nerd” and weeb I could find in school to ask them to join my party and fun fact about me is I have crippling social anxiety I literally refuse to start conversations irl so holy shit I was OUT HERE doing the MOST

My player just originally had my name (Matt) but everyone in my party had fun names so Ryou was born! High school was one big yugioh phase for me and ryou bakura is one of my favorite characters ever so it was just the logical name choice lol I quickly started creating Ryou, the character, as well. I was also leaving my homestuck phase and that + vanitas obsession made This character design (art circa 2016)

If y’all are familiar with my kh oc’s you might notice that keyblade now belongs to my kid Monty LOL

Anyway that got scrapped quickly for the chip and dale outfit (which is where Ryou’s trademark goggles are from <3) Goggles have been a staple of my character designs for a LONG TIME so like, it had to be done, (that’s a separate ramble about a separate oc tho)

OG Ryou was an interesting guy; he was a young party leader with this overwhelming responsibility on his shoulders bc of his status as a party leader. In his original story, he also struggled heavily with darkness, much like Terra but for Ryou it was more that the darkness was controlling him and not like a source of power like it was for Terra

A big part of early Ryou I kept, however, was the crushing awareness of loss. One of my party members (the strongest one at the time,) had left without saying a word and I was very confused and hurt. This was around the time the ephemera plot was happening so I decided to incorporate it into Ryou’s story; having him experience losing a friend to darkness since it’s so normal for wielders in Daybreak Town to just disappear, and this would unintentionally become a theme for both me and Ryou as khux friends would just randomly disappear.

I was desperate for khux at this point and I decided to watch the fan translations for khx and GOD, god, was I obsessed. I couldn’t stop thinking about the foretellers. And I’m not going off about that here bc I already did that, but I actually started entering fandom again! I did it slowly, I started on tumblr before this blog was made altho it was me sending anons to the few khux related blogs I could have lol a friend convinced me to get twitter where I got involved with the ffxv fandom, which led me to the kh fandom and eventually the khux fandom there which is what REALLY got me going on khux.

I joined discord servers, most of the servers I’m in are khux related, and from there I joined the khux oc rp (shout out to anyone there who might be reading this lol here’s some art from the beginning of the rp,)

It’s SO FUNNY how the RP influenced me so heavily. I hadn’t RP’d in YEARS, I used to have a strict no oc rp policy, but here I was? And the funny part is, I had barely developed Ryou. I had scrapped his original story and all I had was POST WAR Ryou so I literally had to reverse write him; I had only ever written him as a depressed, guilt ridden adult, but it was a fucking blast and I have such fond memories of this rp when it was active,

But anyway, this encouraged me to get more serious about art! I started drawing, writing, cosplaying, and roleplaying when I hadn’t done any of that stuff in a very long time. The first time I ever drew a background was for a deviant art khux competition actually LOL

also! I always think extremely fondly of the drawing I did of Aced in the keyblade war. It was also one of the first backgrounds I ever drew and it felt like my real starting point in the khux fandom. It got a ton of notes on here and someone wrote a tiny fic in a reblog which just made me SO HAPPY like it really felt like people were noticing me :) I was going to draw a matching Ira but!! I just never did!! One day tho, it’s on my art bucket list to redraw this along with Ira,

Aside from my personal growth, khux was great for my social life ngl, I made SO MANY friends online and got to meet a ton of people irl over the years! It’s crazy to think about all the people I now know and talk to? It honestly makes me really emotional. I’ll never forget taking the train into NYC and meeting up with discord friends. Going to conventions and talking with people about the latest khux update? Absolutely insane and those were some GOOD TIMES, if I thanked every khux friend or even just person who made an impact on me then we’d be here for a LONG TIME,

Fun fact, for my Lauriam cosplay all I needed to buy was the wig I just owned his outfit LOL also? Probably retiring that cosplay ngl people treated me like absolute garbage when I wore him and it led to a lot of confidence issues for awhile ngl. That’s probably one of the only memorable negative experiences I have with khux; it was great when khux people recognized me but for kh fans that weren’t in khux? They were FUCKING MEAN??? fuck kh fandom at large, I only care about khux fandom,

This leads me to another huge part of my experience in khux fandom: THEORIES!! I used to write SO MANY and oh my god my brain was so full all the time. It was a huge appeal for me in the fandom; I had been previously writing theory posts in the RWBY fandom and it just migrated over to khux for me lol I had done a ton of theorizing around Lauriam tbh, it was really the only reason I liked his character at all bc initially I did not care about the dandelions, anyone who wasn’t Skuld I was like “please leave Now thanks”

A funny part of khux fandom I never intended to be apart of is the MEMES, I really only started doing memes as stress relief bc college had me so busy all I had time/energy for was these quick little shit post drawings.

The first meme I made, file name “invi despair” LOL we need to get her a girlfriend smh anyway, I think in my senior year of college I did a bunch of rapid fire memes all in one month bc the stress of finals was getting so bad afdgfhdgf as far as I know my impact on this fandom will be my memes bc all I do now is enter a kh/khux server and introduce myself and I go “yeah I draw art. here’s a meme” and everyone goes OH YOU, honestly I am nothing if not a clown

I’ve talked so much idk where I’m going with this. Khux is just a good game even if the gameplay actually kind of really sucks yknow lol but it was the first game I played where I like, REALLY got into the meta and the mechanics. I used to read so much on the mechanics and watch youtube videos on which medals were worth pulling for. I was never a whale or a top player exactly, but I could rank well if I tried lol I’ve made it to the top 100 for solo rankings, my party has made it to top 10, and in pvp I’ve made top 300. I’m not the highest level in my party but FUCK do I know how to manipulate this game LOL

And with all that hard work, the strategies, the theorizing, the content I’ve made-- it’s been my life for 5 years. I’ve logged into khux almost every single day. At the end, I have logged 1820 days in khux out of 1910 days. Kinda crazy. Crazier I’ve never spent money on khux either lol the only “money” gone into it was one time my mom gave me a google play store gift card and I used it on my birthday for a VIP xemnas medal which eventually made it to regular pulls anyway but it was nice and a little treat :)

I’m not a gacha fan, I don’t care for it, so I don’t think I’ll be touching another gacha again. But for kh? This was pretty fucking awesome, even if it sucked a lot sometimes LOL It was worth it for the people I’ve met most of all I think. I would honestly be a completely different person without khux and that’s REALLY insane to think about.

Announcement: Inkopolis New Years Award Ceremony 2022?

There will be no more New Years Events

I have made this clear after the meltdown I had regarding the last event.

What happened was that one blog requested to be removed from the list. They sounded a bit harsh about it from how I read it, and they even called the reward a “pity prize.” I felt so upset about the reasoning that I thought what I was doing is wrong or condescending. They were removed, but I also unfollowed them. (I will also not @ them or direct users to them. I will not even post what they exactly said. It’s over, and if I wanted to make a proper apology or talk about it, it would be between me and them.)

I am also not going to bring this New Years Event due to past events before the 2021 New Years Event. No one barely participated, and I would like to think that the Splatoon Community on Tumblr is in shambles. All the invitations that I’ve made at time were out of desperation to make the event work. I wasn’t thinking straight during those points.

This event wasn’t just meant to reward people for their works. It was to also get other Splatoon community members to know who in the community and follow them. I wanted to keep the community together since 2016-2017 (those years were dark times, and I feel most people I know don’t interact with me anymore or are long gone. Very few are still with me...).

I kept thinking of suicide after that meltdown, but every time I try to attempt it the subconscious tells me to not do it. 

I try not to think about the incident now, but it has left this secret resentment for those I held in high respect and to those I wanted to make friends with. This is why I am barely active on Tumblr with some exceptions, and I have been very cautious of what I do around my social circle.

Today, I am in University, I have hands tied on Twitter, Deviant Art, and Discord. And I am losing hope in a number of my RP accounts.

I will not revive this New Years Event, even if Splatoon 3 got announced or that some Splatoon blogs are back.

MULTI OR SINGLE! ♡ - I have both types of accounts! My multi is where I tried to contain my chaos because there was a time early on where I was running 16 different accounts and that was insane. Though I don’t still write ALL of those muses from back then, I still have quite a few. The characters who have single blogs are my favorites and/or ones I really wanted to give extra attention to. I do have some side blogs if you know where to look, but they’re sporadically active. You can find me on @overx & @vox-auxiliary normally when I’m not here though.

FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT! ♡ -  Angst or deep plots are probably my favorite because I love me some character development. That said I enjoy a lot of fluff and crack still, humor is always appealing to me, and characters having genuine or tender moments is nice too. Smut is only for my spouse though, I just feel weird writing it with other people. Same for shipping. 

PLOT / MEMES! ♡ -  Both is good! I love planning stuff in IMs with people, but I also love just winging it and seeing what happens. Can’t go wrong either way <3

Sprite comics returning next week, Please send asks, New Characters available to ask, etc.

Hey everyone! Just thought I’d get this mod note out after Secrets of the Dragon’s Tear has finally finished! Sprite comics will come back as soon as next week and in fact I will start with something that’s mentioned in the epilogue for something important that comes out of the immediate aftermath of the story on Monday! But from there, I’ll definitely need more asks in the ask box (Though deviant art messages, and Discord can still work for that purpose as well) as otherwise I don’t really have a long schedule of updates that won’t require asks.

I just got done with the biggest story of this blog’s history. The royal ball section (Chapters 13-19) of the story alone has a higher word count then Return to Saddle Arabia (And the entire story is at least 4 times longer in terms of word count then RTSA was) and I’ve had some of the ideas in this story simply a concept in my mind for years. So with that in mind, the aftermath of this story is sort of open. Though the good news is of course another purpose of this story is to sort of give a direction that I hope people will be interested enough in sending asks about.

Now I’m not going to say outright what they are in this initial description, as there are probably some who may come by who have not read the whole story. But the upcoming sprite comics are certainly likely to have some unsolicited spoilers for the story that are probably going to leave those casually seeing the comics without knowing about the story some confusion when they’re fully explained in Secrets of The Dragon’s Tear and I’ll completely understand if there will be many who will be confused since I know not everybody has the time to read a 32-chapter story. (But if you’d like to take your time seeing it anyhow, here’s a chronological ordered list or alternately the story on my dA page)

However, after the break I will show a small sprite sheet of the characters likely to soon be a part of coming sprite comics. Technically, you don’t have to read the whole story to get why these characters are here. If I had to say the most important chapters going forward it’d be: Chapters 5 & 6, 11 & 12 (Specifically most of what Twilight talks about with Celestia), and Chapter 20 and onwards all the way up to the epilogue (Though I suppose 30 and 31 can be skipped since all the other chapters at least contain the main point and/or important info of at least one of the characters now available to ask.)

Anyway, after the break will be the sprite sheet. So once again, if you have not gotten to reading the most important chapters I mentioned. I’d recommend staying clear away from clicking “Keep Reading” on this post if you still intend on reading the story. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

But regardless if you will be clicking after the break. I want to thank anybody who read the story as it was going or will be reading the story soon. For those who may have not been quite as interested in such a long story, I’m sorry if I sort of bored you with mostly text only stuff for a long while. But if you’ve been waiting patiently for sprite comic answers to asks and and what not they should be just about back for good as long as you can provide some asks whether though the ask box here, deviantart, or on Discord (If you want to give messages on Discord message me here on Tumblr for either an invite to a the Ain’t Never Had Friends Likes Us server or I can also just give you my ID to talk in DMs). As I don’t plan on having another story like this (And even then it certainly won’t be nearly as big) until likely whenever I decide it’s time for me to close up the blog (Which in case that worries anyone, won’t be until at the absolute earliest late next year and who knows if Generation 5 of MLP being active will want me to keep going even beyond that for any reason)

From left to right is Starlight Glimmer (Improved look, since writing this story has actually given me a reason to care about Starlight more then I ever have during the show’s run), Sunset Shimmer who is revealed in this story to be Starlight’s deceased mother, Jinn the first ever genie, and Applejack’s deceased parents. Everyone here except for Starlight will appear as ghostly spirits with a white glow and made somewhat transparent (Basically as they appear in the “The End” image in the Epilogue). All the details about how the spirits work is in the story though I won’t be against sort of giving a more visual summary that might be a little easier to keep around then telling people to look at a specific chapter of a decently long story.

But yes, these are the characters that if there’s a good amount of story-related asks… I imagine they’ll gravitate to these ones. Genie Twilight, Spike, the rest of the Mane 6 and some others involved in the story can still be asked for certain but I imagine these 5 will garner the most attention for one reason or another if asks are story-related. I’d also be willing to do some text-only responses if say there’s characters I can’t sprite such as Jennesis (Spike’s birth mother) though I imagine much of what Jennesis can answer, Jinn can do it just as well unless it relates specifically to dragon lore and/or Spike himself in regards to his birth mother. Might be willing to also sprite some other characters if the need arises. Like perhaps I don’t know if people might want to see Firelight or Sunburst show up in relation to Sunset and all. Just imagined they probably won’t be asked quite as much as the mare spirits or Starlight.

Naruto Ninja Career

This is a Naruto-inspired ninja career i created with Zerbu's Mod Constructor. It was my first major project in Sims modding, so, please, bear with me. It has a six-stage main career track, then splits into four branches, which are (loosely) based on the paths of Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Kakashi, Iruka, Tsunade, and Obito(aka Tobi). Some charachters are crossed with others to make some of the careers. Each branch has four stages, and all end up with at lease a bit more than the standard Maxis careers at max level. Some are more lucrative than others, and the careers that require more skill development get higher pay(one even goes so far as to require max body fitness, like in the athletic aspiration). I only used Zerbu's Mod Constructor. I did not use Neia's Career Maker, but decided to include her framework file, just in case it is still needed. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I have! How to build a Social Media Site that could work for everyone.

It’s an interesting conundrum that we’re dealing with right now, and something that got me thinking. How do you meet requirements of various platforms, and keep your user base happy and healthy. 

Now I admit my programming skills are old, and I haven’t done a lot of that in a long time. But I started to think, if I could build a SM site out of scratch what would work and what would keep all parties happy. 

The following is my results from mulling over things. 

First I would split this into two sections, why you may ask? Well for two reasons. The first reason is more of a commercial thing regarding cost of keeping up the site, the second is for the access of people and age limitations. 

Section 1 would be all ages. This area of the site would be strictly free (to a certain extent and I will explain that in a minute or two) and open to use by any age group. This means that Grandma could use it just as much as Kaley from down the street could. This area can have art that could be seen in romance comics, or manga. Traditional art like scuptures and the like, refrences, etc, would be fine. Just stuff like...I don’t know...porn gifs and art where you have jizz spray all over the place, would not be allowed in this area. 

Section 2 would be the limited access area, for 18+. Now this area would be blocked off and not accessible to people unless they do a few things. First they would have to register a driver’s license or ID of some sort to verify their age. There would also be a captcha thing and pay a small fee to enter. All NSFW content would go here, no exceptions. 

Here is how this would work. There are three areas of this zone. The first would be for work that would be seen as hard R rated like material. Second would be explicit, and third would be a specialty area for various people who work in certain industries (and again would be monitored for questionable content that could land people in jail). Regarding this last area, this would be monitored and the people involve would have to sign a contract with the site so that they can keep an eye on the activity of those involved in this section. This would be where the major explicit content would go (example would be like extreme BDSM stuff). 

These areas would be locked behind increased paywalls, the first being about 5 dollars at most, second being 10 and third being about 15. You could pay around 20 per month or a one year payment of $240 for a full year subscription. 

This would help with the cost of running the servers. 

Now on top of this the free area, and the not free area, would be allowed to have sub groups. These groups could be made by the user, and the user can invite people in there. Think a mix of the deviant art sub groups and a discord chat server. People would be expected to watch over their own groups, and if things go wrong, it would be shut down. 

Other aspects would include the idea of store fronts. Now these would be a deal with the site. People that wanted to open up a store could chose to do so and after they made around $500 to $1000 dollars yearly with their works, a small fee to the site would be paid every two years for additional stuff for their site. I would say between 15 to 100 depending on the traffic for the store. The site would provide the store owner with forms or other things that they could need to run their shop. 

In addition to that, there would be ads, but not the sort you would think of. All advertisements would be made by artists on the site. Artist could sign up to a board of sorts and then they would be paired with a client that has a store, or business that would pay them for the art, and a small fee to the site for basically running it. This would include all companies (like Disney for example) that wanted to do a blog or page on a movie. 

Of course if you didn’t want to run a store and had your own shop elsewhere you can link that up too. 

Rules would be easy to follow and would be reviewed every three months for all users. A board would be used to handle things, sort of like AO3. Money that was brought into the site would then be distributed to cover, server space, hiring of people to watch over both zones, and Every quarter a video would be posted for the community to ask questions and learn what’s going on. 

Regarding violations of terms of service, you get a warning and then you get banned. Your work is yours to take with you. 

That’s all I  have so far in my head. Any other suggestions?  Wish I knew how to program better.

Mun’s Note: Back From the War, but not home for good

Heeey, I’m not dead. Christmas retail didn’t kill me. Or at least not physically, just emotionally. Just wanted to clean things up and say some things.

Sadly, for the time being at least, the blog is going to remain on hiatus for a little while longer. As much as I love Oddworld; I need that little drip, drip, drip of Soulstorm news to continue to being active in my writing. It’s not you guys fault at all. I get hyper fixated on a project and tend to be scattered brained in my creative process.

Currently, I’m flip flopping between my own original stuff and other fan projects; which right now includes Undertale/Deltarune, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Transformers.

Kintypes:

I have three different types-2 kintypes, a Theriotype and a fictotype.

My first kintype technically falls under a few different labels, but would most easily be described as a Cthonic type divine. My other kintype is that of a vampiric like animal/human shapeshifter. these two kintypes tend to be very fluid and blend together.

My theriotype is that of a melanistic jaguar like is depicted in the blog icon

My Fictotype is that of a specific character portrayed on a canadian TV drama that is an Unseelie Fae

Experience as otherkin and in the community: 

I first came to the conclusion that I might, in some way, not be entirely human 16 years ago.

At the time Vampire was the only thing I could really think of-as my grandmother was fully invested in the ideas of the Satanic Panic and had assured me as a child vampires and witches were absolutely real (she was right of course but not in the way she imagined) 

At first I dismissed this idea as the imaginings of a lonely, bullied child who wanted to be special and wished for control and power in their life. yes I was pretty quick on the critical thinking train.

However the experiences I had, the feelings I had that lead me to initially suspect being nonhuman did not go away despite my skepticism and so I would explore it in small ways until roughly 2004 when i would stumble across resources for the Real Vampire community and a small-likely now gone-page for the ‘were’ community ( the label used prior to Therianthropy) 

I read through these sites-especially the resources on vampirism, very thoroughly-though I did not join the forums as I was not allowed to do that kind of thing because of aforementioned paranoid grandmother. 

In high school I had a number of friends who claimed to be vampires, witches, reincarnated angels and such but it was clear pretty much from the beginning that this was just a game to them and they tended to engage in lots of drama and pretty teenage backstabbing and gossip. I largely managed to avoid this by claiming to be a “solitary’ vampire.

There were others I would meet in college who would, for a while, genuinely believe these kinds of things but feel out of it again after a few years-again I was the only one who remained serious about these experiences and identity.

In early 2009 during my third semester of college I would discover the forum TherianWilderness via someones Deviantart signature. Being a now independent adult I signed up, and from there also signed up for Werelist. Mostly at this time I was exploring my theriotype and the shapeshifter kintype. 

I would later bring up the subject of incarnated angels on Werelist and be directed to otherkin specific forums such as OtherkinPhenomena and OtherkinAlliance. (Though I ended up with an account on nearly every active Otherkin forum at the time, OKA was where I eventually settled down) from there 

I would begin much more serious introspection and personal growth not only related to my being Otherkin but also in relation to the rest of my spirituality. in this facet the older members of these forums were a huge asset to me and I continue to value their input and opinions on the subject-even though the group from those days has largely drifted away from each other. This same group of people would also be active in specific Otherkin circles and groups on Livejournal and then Dreamwidth.

In 2011 I would found Otherkin-Deviants on DeviantArt.com-At the time it was one of the few groups that was not Therian specific and in the ensuing 7 nyears it has become one of the largest Alterhuman related groups on Deviantart at over 350 members. 

Also in early 2011 I would create a Tumblr account. At this time there was no Otherkin community here and my main blog was almost entirely Harry Potter related. After some explosive life stuff I would be gone from the internet for a year-when I returned to Tumblr in April 2012 the Otherkin tag on Tumblr was in full swing and already full of drama, misinformation, trolls and a bunch of other ridiculous crap. So of course I rolled up my selves and went to work correcting what i could and attempting to police/moderate a community that inherently can not be moderated on this particular medium. It was all very dramatic, theres was lots of yelling and by 2014 I was sick of it all and decided to take a break from the kin community-aside from a select few people who I enjoyed talking to. 

Sometime in early 2016 I decided it was time to end my hiatus and take a peak back into the tags-annnnd it pretty much hadn't changed. but I was much better at handling The Discourse at that point and knew when to disengage. 

Sometime not too long after my return I would realize the fae kintype I had been unsure  of and questioning for nearly 10 years was, in fact, a fictotype. 

And while I had only been gone fro about two years-there didn't seem to be very many kin left in the tags who remembered me so establishing myself as a knowledgeable person within the community was starting over from scratch. I still wouldn't say I’m exactly a go to person when it comes to correcting misinformation-because while I do do that on my personal kin blogs those blogs are mostly for me to log my own personal experiences.

That brings us up to now-where I have created this extension of the OKD deviant art group. This blog has the same purpose as the original group-to showcase community art and creativity and foster a place for open and civil discussion and education. Though this is one of many ‘kin help blogs’ many of the blogs out there that claim to be information or for helping Otherkin/Therian/Fictionkin are FULL of misinformation and the mods of those blogs do not always take well to being corrected. 

So, to summarize- I realized I was Otherkin 16 years ago, prior to ever knowing there was a community- and have been an active participant and admin of my own groups for the last close to 9 years-on a verity of different mediums from forums to chats to Tumblr, Amino and Discord. 

Who I am otherwise: 

I am a freelance artist living in the US with my fiance and our son and cats.

 I love TV, films and books-especially the horror, scifi, and fantasy genres. I identify as being somewhere between Punk and Goth and truly love the music from both subcultures-though I also love music from many other different genres. I also greatly enjoy table top gaming and it would be really cool if I actually had time to join a D&D campaign. 

I joyfully engage in fandom and shipping and spend probably too much time looking at fanart and reading fanfiction. If you're interested ask me for my fandom blog :3

As mentioned earlier, I am a furry and enjoy the art and interactions of the furry community. As an artist I particularly enjoy how wonderful the furry community is about supporting artists. 

Most of my time however is probably spent stressing about pretty typical things like rent, utility bills, car repairs and home maintenance. I may not be human on the inside but rent is rent no matter who, or what, you are.
