Thank you for requesting! 🥰
Myungjun:
Tumblr media
After finishing with his musical schedule, Myungjun, your friend you were there to support every day of his rehearsals, took you to a relaxing day. Sunday morning, sun’s up, he made some sandwiches and drinks for the whole day, taking you around the beautiful places in town, where there is a view almost as pretty as him.
You catch up with one another’s schedule and hard times you had through the past few weeks. “You know, I thought about you a lot during practice.” He says, swinging the basket he was holding and then taking a look at you. You do the same, yet surprised. -“You did?” Asking and taking a seat on a bench, full of spring flowers that fell off the tree behind.
“Yeah. You helped me a lot in my mind, so thank you.” He chuckles, taking the seat near you, “I have been thinking about it a lot now,” he’s slightly getting nervous. You look up at him, locking eyes. -“What is it? You can tell me anything.” “I like you y/n. You are always there for me when I need you, and even when I don’t ask for it, you always know when to find me. I like you a lot.” Your heart added extra beat when he said that sentence you needed to hear so badly, since you are going through hard time now, and didn’t even tell him about it.
-“I like you too Myungjun.”
Jinwoo:
Tumblr media
Sanha called you last night to invite you to jinwoo’s birthday party that will take place next week in the dorms, and ofcourse you agreed and even helped making the decorations, the cake and little gift bags for everyone.
The whole week you were walking around the mall and town with the boys, every day with someone else. You decided to buy Jinwoo several birthday gifts since you’re never sure if he’s gonna like the last one you bought, and every each of them helped with their own style.
Finally March 14 arrived, you have planned to spend the whole day with Jinwoo and come back to the dorms exactly at midnight, when it’s the 15 already. At first he didn’t want to finish the bowling game you were playing around 11pm so you faked a stomachache, and as you thought, he rushed to take you back to the dorm as soon as possible. It’s 12:02am, you missed the exact midnight because he was stubborn to take you to your place. “Jinwoo...” you whisper when you arrive at the dorms’ entrance, -“Y/n are you okay?” He asks when he notices you are completely fine suddenly, so you place your hand quickly on the door handle as a sign for the boys, and open it. “Happy birthday!” Jinwoo’s five best friends and you, his secret crush that only sanha knows about, shout, scaring the birthday kid. -“oh my god you tricked me!” Jinwoo shout at you with a smile, pointing at your stomach, you can see how he cared about you being in pain. “She planned this all, hyung!” Sanha says happily as you hit his arm playfully, turning red from the credit he gave you. “NO, SANHA, we planned this all, happy birthday Park Jinwoo.” You say and stretch your arm to get your gifts for him, handing 5 different full bags to him.
-“I... I have nothing to say... y/n, you’re amazing, you all are, guys.” Jinwoo stutters, “Just say you love her already hyung.” All of the sudden Sanha says, making all of you turn to him as he realized what he just said, Jinwoo slaps his own forehead with his palm. -“OH MY GOD.” Minhyuk interrupts quietly. “Yes, oh my god, SANHA WHAT THE HELL!” You yell at the younger boy, realizing he was speaking the truth since Jinwoo didn’t deny anything.
“What? You’ll thank me later hyung.” Sanha says nonchalantly and shoves a spoon full of cake into his mouth.
After you all ate cake and Jinwoo called you to his room, you didn’t feel uncomfortable talking to him, not even now, but you felt like your heart is going to leave your rib cage soon. “First of all, I’m so thankful for you making all of... this. You made me the happiest man on earth, you always do. Second, I love you.” He takes your hand once he says he confesses. “Third, Sanha is a dumbass I’m grateful for, because he made me finally say this. I’m sick of hiding my feelings for you, I want you to know it finally. I love you y/n.” Your heart race could be heard from miles away, -“I love you too Jinwoo.” You say back and kiss him on the lips, it tastes like sweet vanilla frosting. -“He was right, you are going to thank him later.” You finally say and kiss him once again, missing the taste of cake on your own lips.
Dongmin:
Tumblr media
“Y/n! Finally, I’ve been calling you the whole morning, anyways, we are going to the beach today, wanna join us?” Moonbin, one of your friends calls you when you wake up, peeking at your phone while he’s talking, 12 missed calls from him and Minhyuk. -“uhm, yeah sure? I just woke up so I’ll be there in like two hours.” You reply with still sleepy, crispy voice. “Alright! See you then.” He says and hangs up.
Arriving at the beach, it’s a sunny day in the middle of February, the cold breeze helps your hair tangle itself, and the lip gloss you applied doesn’t make the situation better.
“Hey! Lee dongmin!” You shout when you see the handsome guy sits on a beach towel, covered with his big coat. the others are missing in your eye sight. -“Y/n hii,” Dongmin looks up at you, offering you a seat near him.
“Thanks, are you cold?” You ask him while he’s deep in your eyes, smiling his charming smile that makes your heart flutter. -“Ah no it’s okay.” You say nothing but hand him a hot pack, he thanks you and brings it closer to his neck. “So... where is everyone?” Feeling kinda awkward, you decide to ask something to break the silence. Dongmin was your crush for 3 years, yet not long ago you decided to control these feelings since you don’t want to ruin your friendship, and still, your stomach fills with butterflies every time you hear his voice or look at him.
-“There they are.” He points behind you with his head since his hands are busy holding the hot packs. “You’re here!” Sanha shouts and quickly bends over to hug you. The others just greet you with excitement.
“Guys, why don’t you go buy something to eat?” Dongmin suddenly asks, you look at him surprised since they just came from somewhere. Jinwoo was the only one who got the sign and pulled the boys out of there.
“Y/n, I have something to tell you.” Dongmin softly says, stretching his arms to hold your hand. “I have tried to deny it, but I’m afraid I can’t. You already know where this is going, right?” Dongmin likes your clever brain, in fact, that’s what made him fall for you in the first place.
But you tried to convince yourself that’s not what you’re thinking, only because you’re scared to be denied.
-“I’m not sure...”
“I like you y/n, a lot, and you probably don’t want to ruin this friendship but I don’t mind ruining it with something bigger than that.”
Wow, your whole body twitched at those words of his. -“I’m pretty much shocked now, because I’ve been feeling the same. I like you too Dongmin.”
Moonbin:
Tumblr media
Your graduation party wasn’t like you expected it to be. The theme everyone chose was 80’ style, which was different from other proms you have seen.
“Moonbin, hi.” You say shyly when you get close to your friend, still refusing to believe these are the last days you see each other, and then every one goes on his own way.
He turns to you, wearing those shades that make you laugh at him. “Woah, dude chill with the coolness.” You giggle, sticking your thumbnail between your teeth. -“Well, you look wonderful too.” He laughs, grabbing the drink his friend just handed to him. “So... last day huh?” You sigh. -“Yeah,” he follows, taking a sip from what looks like non-alcoholic blue drink. -“Remember when we wished to finish school? Never knew it will be somehow sad like this...” “Yeah well, let’s not spend our last hours together like this upset.” You said, grabbing his hand to the “dance floor”.
All you have done is having fun with your classmates and friends, no getting drunk, no expensive suits and dresses, but good music and atmosphere. Moonbin was one of the last students who stayed there with you until after midnight, dancing till you can’t breathe no more from laughing so much. “Wow, that was a very happy ending, don’t you think so?” He turns his head to you as you pull skewers with marshmallows on it, hand one to him and hold it above the fire. -“I do, I still can’t believe we’re together for years, we went through everything, since 1st grade till now.”
“Y/n...” he whispers, realizing all of these things you just said. -“hmm?” You look at him, feeling too close. “I’m gonna regret it if I won’t say it right now,” he smiles a bit. “I love you.” Your eyes widen from his words, almost burning the marshmallows because you forgot them. -“I... Bin, I don’t know what to say.” You felt the same, but just couldn’t say those 3 words so easily. “Don’t say anything.” He shoves a marshmallow into his mouth and stands up, offering you his hand to do so too. -“Wait.” You stop him when he’s about to go. -“I love you too.” You immediately say and pull him closer for a kiss.
Minhyuk:
Tumblr media
“Minhyuk, where are we going?”
Your friend grabbed your hand the moment he heard from Myungjun that you are feeling a bit down these days, not able to accomplish anything you want. -“It’ll be fun, I promise,” he stops near his new car, and says with a smile, -“Now get in the car.” He opens the car door for you and you enter, noticing the comfort pillows he has in the two front seats. “Are you kidnapping me?” You say sarcastically, pulling the seat belt while he get in the car from the other side. -“If I would, you wouldn’t know.” Minhyuk smirks his usual charming smirk and drives off the parking lot.
The ride wasn’t too long, it was full with both of your laughter, loud music and screaming because he almost bumped into a cat. -“Were here.” He takes off his seatbelt and says, walks out first to open your door again, like a real banal gentleman. “Starbucks? Oh come on, do you wanna tell me what’s going on? You never take me here, or anywhere alone.” You weren’t lying, he never hangs out with you alone but only with another mutual friend of yours, today he felt like he doesn’t want you to feel unwell so he decided to take you on a ‘friendly date’.
-“So you’re actually saying you want me to take you alone more often?” Here’s that smirk again, and he laughs it off. The place was very beautiful, spring atmosphere it is. He told you to sit near one of the tables with a pretty view while he’s ordering the drinks.
You sat there watching the view, glancing at you handsome friend from time to time, wondering why he buy you drinks all of the sudden, he’s the type to ask you to buy him a drink usually.
-“There you go, and... this.” He places your favorite pastry near the beverage, which makes him more suspicious. “Minhyuk, stop wasting your money on me. What is it with you today?” -“Just shut up and drink.” He laughs, gosh his smile made you forget everything you are going through. You take a bite from the sweet muffin (or whatever you like to eat) and thank him about it. “Okay but seriously now, why are you so good to me toda- I mean, you’re always good but today there’s something different.” Your friend rolls eyes at your stubbornness and sighs. -“Myungjun hyung told me you are having hard time.”
Not enough for you, still, he’s hiding something. He could tell you’re having a hard time several times this year, and yet, this has never happened before. When you both finished drinking and chitchatting about life, the usual conversations with Minhyuk, you went out to breathe some fresh air. There was a beautiful park (minhyuk hehehuhu) nearby so he walked you there without you to notice. -“Actually, I do have something to tell you, but this day was supposed to cheer you up, I don’t know what you are going through, but you know you can always talk to me, right?” He suddenly starts to walk slower, puts his hands into his denim jacket, he looks down on the leaves and then up at you. “Yes, ofcourse, but don’t worry about it. Ah, what was the thing you wanted to tell me?” You ask, locking eyes with him from time to time, it feels great to look him in the eyes like that, he’s shining. -“I’ll just say it like that, right away.” He lets you know first, -“I care about you, I like you, actually.” The way he said those words was like he planned this for a while now, but it came fluently from the bottom of his heart.
“I knew it!” You fist your hand, -“You did?” He asks in confusion. “Yeah, I mean no I didn’t but I hoped so.” His smile appears again, -“hoped... Does that mean you like me too?” His heart beats can be heard from where you were standing. “Well, you know me best, so I guess you know the answer.” You reply and take his hand in yours, intertwining fingers.
Sanha:
Tumblr media
“Yoon sanha! Give me back my camera!” You shout while running after the 10 feet tall guy that every step he makes equals to 3 steps of you.
He runs so fast until he can’t no more and gives up, breathing heavily while holding onto his knees. -“Take your camera, it doesn’t worth your embarrassing pictures.” You grab it right after he says, searching for the pics he was taking of you while eating and talking with the others. “Oh my god Sanha you’re gonna pay for that.” You tell him while panting and looking at your own awkward moments. You didn’t like to see yourself while talking, kinda insecure about it, but he didn’t know it.
“Both of you stop and let’s go eat.” Dongmin appears behind the two of you, scaring you both since you didn’t expect him to be there.
-“Ah! Hyung!” Sanha screams as soon as he hears Dongmin’s slightly deep voice, following him to where you were sitting all together in the first place. “Open your mouth.” You held a fork with lightly burnt, hot, potato stuck on it, making its way to Sanha’s mouth. The others just looked at you shocked, and you didn’t get why. “What?” You ask, sticking the fork in another piece of potato, that’s his favorite thing to eat, especially on camping trips. -“You would make a great couple someday.” Jinwoo says and the rest of them agree. “What? Ew, no he’s my best friend.” You know Sanha is close to you so wouldn’t be offended by your words, even though he wanted you to be more than his bestie.
Time passed and all of them went to sleep, except for you and Sanha who stayed up late singing songs while he plays the guitar. “Did you really mean what you said earlier?” He suddenly asks, looks like he does care about that. -“Which part?”
“The one with the ‘Ew’, do you really mean it?” His voice lowers. -“What? No Sanha, ofcourse not. It’s just, you know what they are going to say if I’d said otherwise. Why does that bother you?” He grabs the Polaroid camera from earlier, handing it over to you. “What-“ he cuts you off. -“look at the third picture.” You take it and roll the gallery to the picture he meant, it was you; but a finger heart at the bottom of the picture. “Sanha, I don’t get-“. -“I like you y/n, more than a best friend. And I wish Jinwoo’s words could make a reality.” Wait... what? “Yoon sanha, are you kid- you’re speaking the truth.” You realize since you recognize his serious face. “I, actually, said what I said earlier... because I was starting to feel the same feelings for you, and I guess I was too scared...”
-“So, you like me back?”
“I guess- I do.”

MJ had always been a quirky dork. The man was all over the place and would do the weirdest things at the weirdest times. It was chaotic, but also adorable and YN wouldn’t change his way of being even if she could. And it’s why she tried not to question it much when he started to ask her random questions and then change the subject or disappear altogether.
That didn’t stop her from being curious each time it happened though.
The first incident was when they were sat down in their shared apartment eating dinner. One second MJ was shoveling food into his mouth at an alarming rate - one that made her worried he would choke on it - and the next he was staring at her so intensely she was a tad uncomfortable. Of course, YN ignored it for a while hoping he’d stop or say something but when two minutes passed she grew mildly annoyed.
“What?” she asked, looking up from her plate.
Instead of the usual smirk that played on his lips once he successfully annoyed her there were pursed lips and a furrowed brow. He continued not speaking for a moment or two and then when he did it wasn’t what she expected.
“A or B?” he asked.
YN sat there confused, but when there was no follow up and his serious expression didn’t waver she responded.
“Uh… B.”
At that MJ nodded and went back to eating his dinner. YN perplexed opened her mouth to question it, but he looked so into inhaling the rest of his dinner that she left it alone. Well, that and she knew that he would break sooner rather than later on what that was about.
Or that was what she assumed would happen.
For the rest of the night MJ said nothing and acted like it was a normal evening. They cleaned the dishes together, got ready for sleep, and spent the evening cuddled in bed watching some random show that happened to be on when they got into bed most nights. Neither were that invested, but also invested enough to be sad when they missed an episode because they’d gotten into bed too late or fell asleep too early.
The usual routine is what made her forget about the question until another incident happened.
About a week later MJ called her while she was at work and usually that was a highlight of her day, especially when they day had been tiring. But there was no small talk, nor did he try his usual mood maker tactics on her.
He said four words.
“1, 2, or 3?”
Midway through a greeting YN paused and her brows furrowed in confusion. Why in the world had he asked her that and why was it the second time? What could he possibly be having her choose?
However, none of those questions could be asked aloud before he was speaking again.
“Kinda urgent, my sun. Which one?”
The pet name got her out of her head and helped brighten her day for a moment, which meant she could answer him.
“Hm… I wanted to say 1, but how about 3?”
There was a soft laugh from the other side of the phone and it was music to her ears. MJ’s laughs were infectious, especially when they were the loud ones, but something about his gentler ones just sparked joy inside of her. They were just so cute.
“Thank you, my sun. I love you. And don’t forget we’re doing movie night tonight,” he said.
“I love you too. Also, I didn’t and don’t think I don’t remember you saying that I could take your turn on choosing this time.”
There was a horrible attempt at the phone cutting out from his end that she rolled her eyes at.
“I’m sor- I ca- hear you. I’ll ta- to y-y-you later. Bye!”
That left YN with something to laugh about for the rest of the day, especially when things felt like they were a bit too much for her. But questions lingered in the back of her head for longer than they had the last time.
Naturally, she forgot over time or for the most part she did. But that was only because MJ was being extra weird outside of the questions. He still asked them at random times, even having their friend Jinwoo ask her once and going so far as to add the question onto the card for the flowers he’d sent her one day at work.
But her true focus was the secretiveness that went along with it. Outside of the questions he was obviously hiding something from her. She trusted him so she knew it wasn’t cheating - plus he was never gone enough for that to be a thing. And that man was not a fan of quickies so there was no way he had them at work or between work hours. There was also the fact that one of his friends always was near when he was heading out and she definitely knew that wasn’t happening since they preferred to love MJ from a distance. Plus a few were her friends first and they’d never betray her like that.
And with that off the table that meant she was left scrambling for something or anything to explain what was going on. All she could think of is it being some sort of surprise for her, but her mind kept glossing over the one possibility. Not once did she think of it, not even to dismiss it as an option.
It worked in MJ’s favor though because on the day he asked her out to dinner for the following evening she was still none the wiser. All her focus seemed to be on the joy of going to a restaurant they hadn’t in a while and not needing to dress extra fancy to do so. His job held a lot of work dinners and she came as his date most of the time, which meant so much dressing up when she just wanted to relax at home or with friends.
When venturing to the best kimchi stew place with the best view she didn’t mind it. That meant she slipped on a pair of jeans, wore a cute top, and could wear any non-heels in her possession. Once ready to go she met MJ out in the car where she got to see his outfit for the first time all day. It was casual, but something about it was a bit more put together and intentionally stylish. She didn’t think to say anything though because it wasn’t rare that he did it; plus, she was against adding something as little as that to her pile of suspicion.
Besides, she planned to ask him about it during their date.
They bided the time in the car talking about their week and the ridiculous thing Sanha had done the day before and how Eunwoo had seemed ready to kill him. Which meant the week went about how it normally did, because Eunwoo often looked ready to just unload on his chaotic friend group. The poor bean was perpetually stressed out and done with all of them.
Something that YN and everyone found hilarious. Though sometimes she took mercy on him and got them in line, especially when they grated on her nerves as well.
Upon arrival they pulled into a spot and walked into the building, being directed to their favorite seats immediately. Both were such frequent customers that they knew the staff by name and vice versa. Everyone knew what they liked and did their best to accommodate them because they all got along so well. It was a nice space to be.
Once in their seats YN’s eyes drifted to the window next to them. Through it you could see the cityscape. The buildings high, the lights bright, and the people and cars moving about. It was peaceful despite the inherent busyness and chaos that came with living in a city. At some point in life she may have enjoyed the quiet of a smaller town or a suburb, but she would never change out of the city for that. At least not with the way she lived her life in that moment. Maybe when she and MJ were married with kids to raise would she wish for a change of pace.
“You going to stare out the window all night? I’m sure my face is just as beautiful,” MJ teased.
YN made a fake gagging noise and then laughed.
“That was so cheesy,” she said.
“I know. Speaking of, are we getting the usual?”
“Of course.”
And just like magic their waiter, Hyuk, strolled over to take their order. There was some light small talk before he was off putting the order in, though YN was sure they started it the moment they walked through the door. They never changed it unless they added another item on as some sort of side, so there was no need to guess or wait for them to come to a decision.
As they waited they talked about anything and everything, well anything that was light. They’d swerved into the topic of a case the YN worked that was particularly hard and when MJ saw how much it took out of her to speak about it he changed the subject. However, he kept the focus on her and a story she had to tell. Something he’d explained to her once as a way to get off a not great conversation, but still letting her know that he was there to listen to whatever she wanted to tell him.
“I think you should do pink,” he said.
“Pink? You think I should dye my hair pink?” she asked incredulously.
MJ nodded, pausing as Hyuk sat their stew, side dishes, and drinks down before leaving.
“Yeah, pink would suit you well. We can even dye it together if you want. Hot pink.”
No response felt right for YN so she just left him sitting there with his ridiculous idea and grabbed her spoon to gather a bit of the broth to drink. Even when he did that dork eyebrow wiggle she ignored him, motioning for him to eat his food. After a few seconds he did, though there was a look in his eyes that she couldn’t place. It wasn’t the earlier mischief, but it did indicate he was up to something.
She would’ve said something right then and there, but the taste of the stew had her releasing an involuntary moan as she did. The taste was just so perfect and she was much hungrier than she assumed, so the thought of talking was over before it truly started.
And they remained like that. Eating wasn’t a talkative affair, so the silence was fine. Well, silence with the occasional whisper of how they loved the food so much and would do anything for it.
They were both weird.
Dinner finished quickly enough and the moment the dishes were collected they were replaced with their usual bingsu. It was chocolate oreo and way too sweet, but also way too good. They didn’t have it every time or at least that was the lie YN liked to tell herself so she could validate getting it the next time they came.
The lie had no one fooled.
While YN dug in almost immediately MJ did not and when she didn’t notice his spoon fighting to steal her scoop she looked up. Surprisingly, MJ wasn’t there and that confused her, until she turned her head and saw him down on one knee with an open ring box in his hand. He wore a bright smile and the joy in his eyes matched it.
“I’ve been asking you a million random this or that questions for weeks now trying to figure out how to do this. You’ve helped me with so many decisions, but in the end of it all they didn’t feel right. So, with the last thing I asked you helped me realize that this was best. That I wanted to ask you to marry me, to be my wife in a place we both love with a view that very few places could beat. YN, my sun, I love you with my entire being. And I know my personality can be a lot sometimes, but you love all sides of me regardless of how you sometimes lock me out of the bedroom for peace. Or make me go to JinJin’s. And I love you the same way. So, if you don’t mind I’d like to ask one more question. Yes or no?”
YN felt her stomach churn and her heart beat erratically. There was just so much joy inside of her that her body didn’t know how to handle it and she felt a little overwhelmed, but in the best possible way. The man she loved and who she’d spoken to about their future life proposed to her in one of her favorite places and included her in the entire process. Even if she didn’t know about it.
“Yes,” she said, her voice shaky.
And without another word MJ slipped the ring onto her finger and stood up, pulling her into a tight embrace. They laughed and they cried throughout the night. Both of them on cloud nine.

Want to be your star
Tumblr media
part 6
Those slender fingers slid up my curvy frame, gently caressing the skin on my arms and sliding up until they interlaced with my fingers on either hand. Jinjin’s lips were soft and gentle, pecking delicate petals of love against my supple skin. Bruises of cerise and berry pink adorned my light colored skin, trailing around my bosom as I heaved and gasped, each kiss leaving me breathless and my heart pounding deeper. His hips, God bless those hips, even beneath his jean enclosure his cock raked against me as his hips rocked against mine. My panties not protecting me from his rude ways of torment.
I gasped, rolling my head to the side, my face grazing my arm still intertwined with his as Jinjin sucked my skin above my panty line. His eyes peeking up at me through wire-framed glasses, steamed with his hot breath, his light brown hair in a disarray. He lived to ruin me and I lived to let him.
**Ping Ping**
“Fuck.” I gasped arching my hips up against Jinjin’s face, his ministrations not slowing.
**Ping Ping**
Jinjin paused and looked up at me through disheveled hair, “check it.”
“Ugghhh…” I slammed my hand onto the nightstand until I found my phone, Harley messaging me. “We’re out of cheesecake, fuck.”
“You should go then,” Jinjin teased, his fingers sliding up and down my panties, my essence staining the fabric with the simple touching.
“She can…mmm….manage without me…” I breathed heavily praying he’d end this torture.
His lips pressed deeply into my skin, my thighs quivering from his touch. “You need to go,” he patted my leg before rolling away from me.
“Fuck. I’m firing Harley!” I groaned in defeat.
Jinjin laughed while sliding on a white t-shirt, “you won’t though.”
“You’re right,” I complained, throwing my arm across my eyes, Jinjin chuckling while throwing my pants at me from the door. “Come on then, boss lady.”
I pulled the last hot cheesecake from the oven and placed it on a cooling rack before removing my oven mitts and apron. I grabbed my jacket and headed to the front of the bakery. “That should last until tomorrow.”
“Thanks, Boss. I’m sorry I had to message you on your day off, I know you don’t get many,” Harley was rough looking, but her heart was always in the right place.
“No worries, Harley. Call me if you need anything else,” I smiled at her before running out the door, Jinjin and Moonbin hanging by the door to pick me up.
“Well?” Moonbin asked.
I looked up at him, confusion in my voice, “Well, what?”
“Where’s the cheesecake you just had to make?!” He exclaimed.
I looked at Jinjin who seemed to shrug at the question. He was too used to this boy.
“It’s in the bakery, if you want some it’s 6 won a slice.”
Jinjin’s laughter bellowed out as he slapped Moonbin in the arm. I walked off, Jinjin trailing quickly behind me down the sidewalk leaving Binnie to stand in his silence.
“So, I’m not getting cake?!!” Moonbin finally running up behind us attempting to catch-up, Jinjin still laughing.
“If you’re that hungry, Binnie, why don’t we go to the street food fair and get some bungeoppang?” I suggested, after all what is better for winter than nice warm fish shaped bread?
Moonbin ran up behind Jinjin jumping onto his back throwing a finger out pointing outward, “FORWARD TO THE BUNGEOPPANG!”
Jinjin’s legs shook as he wrapped his arms around the taller boy’s legs and charging forward down the sidewalk, leaving me to laugh as I trailed behind them.
They were far enough in front of me now, their bodies barely being seen through the crowd of people filling the outside area where the food trucks sat. The smell of food of all varieties emerged from the space, the sounds of children laughing being heard. I smiled, sliding my hands into my pockets to keep them warm, finally spotting Jinjin and Binnie a few food trucks up waiting in line for bungeoppang and topokki.
The hair on the back of my neck raised. Was someone watching me? I quickly scanned the area, I could feel those eyes. The dark eyes that burn right through me like innocence dying. My heart pounded rapidly; my palms becoming sweaty from my nerves. My eyes darted around me, but I couldn’t see him.
Kisu, I know you’re there.
“Y/N?” Jinjin’s voice was filled with concern as his fingers interlaced with mine. His cold fingertips bringing me back to him.
“Ah, sorry Jinwoo…” I blushed trying to refocus my attention on Jinjin and Binnie, whose mouth was filled with spicy Topokki.
“Let’s go for a walk, hm?” Jinjin tightened his grip on my hand as we walked through the crowd heading towards the playground area of the park where the food trucks were arranged. Moonbin caught up with some friends, enjoying the food in the area while Jinjin motioned for me to sit on a bench beside him. His arm laid across my shoulders as I leaned back humming a sigh to myself.
His eyes were gentle, a blessing I didn’t deserve. “So, you going to tell me what’s going on?” He was straightforward.
I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat, my mouth feeling dry suddenly.
“How’d you know something was wrong…” I finally asked, my heart pounding slowly.
“When have you ever called me ‘Jinwoo?” He chuckled, his eyes still easy and relaxed.
My cheeks burned red as I thought about my indiscretion towards his name. “I guess I have some things on my mind.” I fiddled with my hands that rested in my lap, a nervous habit that always presented itself during stressful times.
Jinjin seemed to hum to himself, the sounds of peace relaxing my heart a bit.
“Kisu followed me to the bus stop last night.” I blurted out, a weight being lifted instantly.
“Oh?” His relaxed expression didn’t falter as he listened to me confess what had happened with Kisu.
“Yeah. He, um, well, he brought up a random story from a long time ago and then he confessed he still had feelings for me…” My heart pounded erratically as I confessed to Jinjin. His eyes shut, face pointing up to the clouds. I couldn’t read him. Was this him mad? Why was he so irrationally calm?
“Is that all?” He finally said something.
I leaned forward looking at him stunned, “What? What do you mean is that all?”
“Did you confess to him you had the same feelings?”
“N-no.”
“Did you sleep with him?”
“No! Of course not!” I spouted.
Jinjin opened an eye to peek over at me, “So why are you so worried?”
I bit my tongue, not from fear of saying the wrong thing, but because I couldn’t think of what to say.
He shifted from his place on the bench so he was sitting up to look at me, his hand resting on one of my own. “Y/N, I’m not worried because I already won. I have you.”
I looked into his eyes, the warm cognac color keeping me in place, he leaned in close, our lips interlocking into a kiss.
We stayed in our moment for a while, the cool breeze settling into the sunset that shaded the sky shades of orange and auburn. I closed my eyes as I heard the sounds of people approaching. Moonbin being carried, his body slumping over a friends shoulder. “I may have eaten too much topokki..” He spluttered.
“We better get him home,” Jinjin spoke, I nodded quickly in response helping hold up Moonbin from the right side.
The walk home seemed utterly serene despite the large boy being slumped over our shoulders. Jinjin scolding Binnie all the way to the apartment even though he couldn’t hear him over the heart burn that seemed to overtake his senses. I gazed through the windows of the businesses down the sidewalks of Seoul, hearing the crowd from the food fair falling far into the distance, the mumbling echoing out to the streetlights that started to blink on.
Jinjin continued to anchor Moonbin up as his drunken slumber began to overtake his body. When we finally arrived to the boy’s apartment, I quickly ran up the stairs to open the door so Jinjin could focus on getting the larger boy through the door. It didn’t take much for Jinjin to use his remaining strength to throw Moonbin onto the couch with a ‘Plop!’
I adjusted a pillow beneath the puppitty’s head and covered him with a small throw blanket that was left hanging off the corner of a chair.
“Y/n,” Jinjin spoke quietly.
“Hm?” I shuffled to get the blanket to cover Moonbin’s feet when a hand grabbed my wrist and tugged, initiating me to turn around and look up at Jinjin.
His eyes seemed darker than before, I tried to take in his expression, but before I could think his lips were interlocking with mine. The taste of oak from his cologne mixed with his spearmint toothpaste creating a new taste within my mouth. His hands rubbed up my arms until his hands found my head, his fingers entangling in my waves. I couldn’t move. I was frozen in this moment. My heart racing, eyes blinking slowly, until the intoxication of him enveloped me creating a new sense of euphoria.
The process from the living room to the bedroom was a complete blur. Jinwoo’s hands scooping me up for my legs to wrap around him, running into a wall to continue to make-out, the knocking over of the hallway lamp, my hair hooking into his piercing, and collapsing onto the bed. Jinjin’s fingers trailing over my body removing my clothes until all he could see was my exposed skin, while he kept his boxer briefs on, teasing the idea of his naked frame to me.
His kisses burned into my skin as he left tiny macaron shaped bruises behind branding my body for himself. I ran my hands across his back, the heat of his skin, the firmness of his muscles all being memorized by my sensitive touch. Jinwoo kissed a trail of love to my heated folds, gently stroking the skin towards the opening before looking up at me from below, asking to touch.
I bit my lip and spread open my legs, Jinjin taking in the view before slowly circling the area of skin on the lips, teasing a touch on my clitoris, and then finally sliding a finger towards my now pounding core. He continued to tease the idea of entering my core for a bit until I nodded towards him, allowing him to have full access and thrusting two fingers into me. A gasp released from my lips as I arched my back off the mattress and moaned with each slow slide in and out of my heated core.
Jinjin continues to finger me, his eyes watching every movement of his fingers going in and out of me. I close my eyes as I feel him curve his digits to rub against my sensitive bundle of nerves, moaning quietly with each thrust.
“Ji-jinjin…” I whine out.
“Am I hurting you?”
“N-no, I want to feel you inside me…please…” I whine out, Jinjin slowly sliding out of my core and thinking about what to do next before finally anchoring himself over me, his body still between my legs.
“You’re sure?”
I nod lightly, biting my lip.
I feel Jinjin slide his dick out of his briefs, the head hard and pressed to the opening of my vagina, my walls thumping with anticipation. He hooks his arms underneath mine and grabs my shoulders before bearing down and sliding his erection deep into my heat. I gasp more loudly than I have before, causing Jinjin to look at me with concern.
“Keep going,” I reassure him, allowing him to press his lips to my forehead and thrust slowly at first, then faster until he has gathered a nice quick pace. Tears stream down the corners of my eyes as I mewl out his name begging for more. He thrusts in a pace that seems slow, but quickens before slowing back down. Sweat gathers on his brow as he presses it against my own, his breath filling the air between us. I moan loudly, trying my best to stay in control of the fire growing in my abdomen, the lava like feeling overflowing into my heat.
He grinds slow and deep into my core spouting light sounds of profanities as his high gets closer to being reached. I dig my fingers into his skin leaving little half-moons within his tan skin. I can hear the air being sucked from between his teeth and his grunting as each thrust becomes a disarray of movements.
So close.
I feel him slide slow and deep into me as I reach my limit, my orgasm spilling out like lava from a volcano; my walls tighten around him and he thrusts quicker hearing me scream out his name until finally he pulls out and spills his seed across my bare skin.
 He fell asleep on me.
I smile as I stroke Jinjin’s hair from his forehead, the locks bouncing into place with a flick.
*ping ping*
I slide my body to the edge of the bed to dig my phone from my pants.
*ping ping*
I slide it open to see a face.
 Kisu.

Astro in DC~
Hello! I’m here to give you my complete fanmeet experience to the best of my abilities~ I’m going to preface this by saying I’d been feeling ill the past few days, so it took a lot of my willpower just to keep myself standing for a fair chunk of the show…. Which means 1) my memory is a bit fuzzy and 2) I just did not have the brainpower to focus on every member, so this is a very Jinwoo-biased fan account (not that any of you should be surprised tbh).
P.S. I’m sorry I wrote a literal novel;;; this is largely to help me remember it all both now and in the future, but I also wanted to share!
(rip mobile users someone please teach how to actually make readmores work on mobile edit: never mind my iPad did the thing! Bless)
The Beginning:
The girl who did the cover dance absolutely rocked it, and the crowd had no problem hyping her up - she performed Again and we were fanchanting and everything~ And then when she finished the lights dimmed, she left the stage, and we all waited very anxiously for the real show to begin.
Now. I knew going in that Jinjin would be the first on stage with his dance solo, but that did not stop him from still completely taking my breath away (like I actually gasped and put my hand on my chest/over my mouth). It was the moment of realization that he’s real! And really here!! And he’s doing his thing!!! Like I’m still processing the feeling of seeing him in real 3D space, seeing his body as a real human body, with depth and warmth, not just a flat image (I hope that doesn’t sound weird??). And man did he kill that solo. I always love when he gets a chance to bust out his house dance skills 💕 (I should actually check cams from the other shows to see if he was doing a set choreo or going freestyle 👀). And then, of course the Rocko man himself came out, and proceeded to just destroy us all (and booooy was the crowd Rocky biased - the screams for him were REAL yall).
Once that section was done the rest of the boys came out and!! Myungjun was in just a black tshirt and jeans!!! How dare he attack me so soon into the show!!!
They performed Again which was stellar as always, and then they segwayed into Baby. And things got LIT. Their demeanor changed, the crowd energy changed, it was just. Exactly the mood you’d expect from Baby~ The boys got really smiley and just looked like they were so happy! Just rainbows and sparkles all around haha
After baby finished they did their intros! Jinjin went first and of course intro’d himself as the leader and main visual. Eunwoo said a good bit in English but so help me if I remember any of it 😰 Moonbin gave his whole intro in English too! And you can seriously tell how hard he worked to be able to do so!! Like he really said a lot and you could tell he was thinking carefully as he was talking, I was so proud of him :’) He’s adorable, his voice is adorable, hearing him say ‘puppycat’ is deadly 😂 Mj introduced himself as the happy virus, and I unfortunately don’t remember the rest of his or Socky’s intros :( After intros, the staff brought out chairs and they sat down for q&a time!
Q&A:
If you had drawn a line directly from my seat to the stage, that’s where Jinwoo was sitting :“”“”“”) So basically I had the perfect view of him (even if I was like 12 rows back). I cant remember everything that was asked/said (im sure there are 100 fancams anyway) but some highlights include:
♥ The first question was who pays for meals the most, and they did the 3-2-1-point thing; everyone pointed to Jinjin. Then they said some stuff I couldn’t hear/catch, but it ended with Jinwoo saying something (in English!) about no longer having access to his mom’s card 😂😂
♥ Someone asking Bin his workout routine, and him genuinely telling us lmaoo And every time he would name an activity (running, weights, etc) Jinwoo would be in his chair just miming it out like a NERD 😂 (Jinwoo was just generally very animated and interactive, and he was smiling soooo muuuuuch you could just tell he was in a good mood!!)
♥ Someone asked what the members needed to have when traveling. Rocky said mask pack, Jinwoo said Arohas love 😑, I didn’t catch what Eunwoo said??, I think Bin also said Arohas love, MJ said contacts and something else genuine, and Sanha said?? He brought Jinjin??? And Jinwoo was just like ???????????????? What are you talking about 😂😂
♥ Someone asked who’s the best cook/who cooks the most and what do they make. Immediately Sanha just goes “not me!” and everyone laughs. They said they really don’t cook much at home, but Bin likes to cook and wants to make food for the upcoming birthdays! :’)
After the q&a they introduced/moved into Run which, again, Jinwoo’s position was DIRECTLY in line with my seat for a lot of the song; I was #blessed. Also at the very beginning when they were passing the mic down the line, Eunwoo teased Sanha and almost didn’t give him the mic in time - the baby got a little flustered 😝 (P.S. Sanha is the most adorable and pure being on this earth, and I’m pretty sure his giggle could cure cancer. I still can’t believe I got to hear it in person.)
So Run was good, the crowd def didn’t know the lyrics as well as the other songs but the spirit was still there! And then then segwayed into Crazy Sexy Cool and for some??  reason??? I have very little memory of it…. I do remember the fanchants being STRONG though, esp for rapline haha
After that I think they took a short break while the MC did his thing, then they brought the boys back out for gaaaaame tiiiiiiime 😀😀
Game Time:
The first game was the mystery box one, and the members were divided by staff into Hyung line vs Maknae line. The grandpas being on the same team were, of course, being goofy and extra af lmao (And Eunwoo just stood there laughing as usual). They r/p/scissored to see which team would go first - it was Jinwoo vs Rocky, and Jinwoo decided to be Extra™ and do it by turning away from Rocko and sticking his arm out behind him. Rocky won, and I’m like 99% sure he totally cheated and waited a split second for Jinjin to throw his hand before showing his own….
But either way, Maknae team won so they made Hyung team go first. Before they brought out the box there was some hyping/smack talk~ Eunwoo said (approximately) in English “Just one thing: we win >:)” and then our precious child Sanha goes, also in English (approximately) “Just one thing: You lose!” It was seriously the cutest ah my heart 💖 So they brought out the box, and the thing they had to guess was…. Raw egg 😫😫 Maknae team peeked at what they’d have to guess and omg their reactions 😂😂 They were thoroughly grossed out and excited for the other team to suffer lmaoo
So Jinjin went first, and he took off his jacket and rolled up one shirt sleeve and he;;;; has a very nice forearm;;;;; You should find fancams for their reactions tbh bc there’s no way I could do them justice, but watching Jinwoo’s face distort in discomfort and hearing him let out a small scream was sure something 😂😂 Because it was raw egg it was suuuper wet and drippy and gross and you could seeee it dripping off his fingers when he took his hand out of the box 😣😝 (the staff had towels at the ready, don’t worry). He removed his hand from the box, wiped it off a bit, and then smelled his fingers and as soon as he did that we was like “…aaaaaaaaah 😈😈” so he probably figured it out right away. Mj was next and of course he had to be a little extra when putting his hand in, walking his fingers around the opening a bit before diving in. And then as soon as he touched it he just full on screamed 😂😂 And he kept screaming and making weird noises for a bit, then he got a little used to it and was like “ooooh 😳” I can’t remember anything he might have done after that 😩 Eunwoo went third and was def the most anxious. He stuck his hand in and I can’t remember if he even touched it or not before he freaked and pulled his hand back out 😂 Again that’s really all I can remember from him 😢 Then they had 15 seconds to collude as a team and settle on their answer, and they guessed it right!! Also once the crowd heard what it was they had touched we were all just like “eeeeww oh noooooooo!! DD: ” And then. And then the Extra Bros™ Myungjin start acting like chickens =w=;;;; There were fair amounts of butt wiggling. (MJ started it of course).
So! They guessed right! Which meant if Maknae line couldn’t get theirs then they would have to do a punishment. So. The staff brought out the next item, which was white and round and squishy. Hyung line snuck a peek and they were just standing there poking it 😂😂 And then freaking troll Eunwoo said to the other team “guys be careful! Its moving! Its alive!!!” And Myungjin went along with him on it lmao Maknae line didn’t really know what to make make of them lol
Rocky went first, and he really Did Not want to stick his hand in there - you could just see the classic suffering smile on his face. He definitely yelled several times when touching it (not a scream, but a very Rocky yell haha) Once he was done he seemed to have an idea what it was, and started whispering in Bins ear. Sanha went second and he was… well…. Sanha lol Very squirmy, very screamy. Bin went last (I think, he and Sanha might be switched aaah I’m so sorry), and I don’t really remember Bins reaction while his hand was in the box at all. I do know that he was like full-on squeezing the thing and the MC was losin it at him, and after he took his hand out he sniffed his hand and then licked it =w=;;;;; and all of us were just like Bin no!!!! Then he went back and there was more Moonrock ear whispering.
Once all 3 went they had their 15 seconds to decide, and I didn’t understand what the answer they gave was (it was hard to hear Rocky and the MC didn’t repeat what he said for us) buuuuuuuut it was wrong! The right answer was a ball of mozzarella cheese~~ Hyung line of course started taunting them for losing (mostly led by Jinwoo) and even got the whole crowd involved 😂😂 And thus the losing team was introduced to their punishment: they had to spell their names. With their butts. Sexily. (And I was like you’re going to make the Maknaes do what?????). So Bin went first and he pretty much died of embarrassment one letter in, but he powered through! Rocko was next and he was also internally dying (and externally yelling 😂) but the dancer part of him took over and booooy does he have balance and body control. I’m pretty sure after he was done he ran and hugged Bin to deal with his embarrassment and the crowd LOVED that 😂 Sanha went last and the MC had to torture him!! And make him do his full name!! 😭😭 Of course it was more awkwardly cute than sexy, and him saying the letters as he went was unbearably adorable. (I honestly covered my eyes/turned away to laugh/cringe for most of the punishments =w=)
The next game was guessing the song based on choreo. They split up into teams by randomly selecting colored papers and somehow!! Binu still managed to be a team!! How many times has this happened now????? The other teams were JinHa and RaMyung. They were deciding who should go first and Bin said the “maknae” team should go first (referring to RaMyung) and literally everyone was just like what are you on about????? 😂😂 Fake Maknae MJ strikes again! They r/p/scissored for team order again and I’m like 80% sure Rocko cheated again 👀👀👀 But either way the order ended up as Binu, RaMyung, JinHa. Binu actually did really well!!! with Bin dancing and Eunwoo guessing, but I have to shame Woo for not getting Sistar’s Shake It like boy come on! I think they got 6+ right? RaMyung were…. less successful, but it was honestly more on Rocky??? I think he just like panicked and couldn’t straighten out in his brain what he should actually be doing with his body, then the ones he did actually do the dance to MJ was pretty hit or miss 😂 But they still got a few!! Aaaand then came JinHa… For some reason they decided Sanha should do the dancing, and well…. He passed like every other one, and I don’t think Jinwoo was able to guess a single one 😂 It was just a lot of panic and failure lmaoo So needless to say their team came dead last.
It was decided both losing teams had to do punishment, and that punishment was 40 pushups per team. However the MC said they could divide that any way they wanted, for example Sanha could do 1 and Jinjin 39. JinHa team went first, and Sanha volunteered to do his share first. And the kid got down, wiggled into position, did 1 pushup, and stood back up like “all done!” 😂😂 We got to witness Jinwoo’s legendary ‘possibly contemplating murder rn’ face 😂😂 But then Sanha got back down - and as he was going of course Jinwoo was starting to take his jacket off to prepare for his half but then we reached 20… And 21… And 22… And Sanha kept going all the way to 40! So Jinwoo didn’t have to do anything, and he seemed really pleased :) and was like *shrugs* alright then and put his jacket back on. Mj went first for RaMyung team and bless his heart he did the whole 40 too so Rocky didn’t have to.
The final game was random play dance and there wasn’t much to it really, they just ran through the point parts of 2 other group songs (BTS Dope and Apink No No No). They all did fine for BTS of course, but Binnie KILLED it with Apink lmao to the point where the rest of the members kinda stopped and just let him shine. The final song was one from Dream Part 01 but I cannot for the life of me remember which one it was 😩 I want to say Dream Night or Dreams Come True?? (Watch it be neither akdbsj)
And that was the end of game time! I think they maybe took another quick break, but maybe not idk;;; and then we segwayed into Breathless!
And boy let me tell you, Aroha get PUMPED for Breathless. Confession too tbh, like I don’t remember much from CSC but I definitely remember people just going hardcore with love for these songs haha And I’m pretty sure the boys could feel the passion for them too~ Also during Breathless when Moonrock have their dance bit and then it switches to a rapline dance bit, Jinwoo’s shirt came up a little bit and idk why that suddenly affected me so much but I literally like gasped said “oh my god” out loud 😳
They then moved into the final ment, which worried me at first as I thought maybe we had to skip You & Me due to time or something, but nope they just did the ment first!
Final Ment:
I don’t really remember much of what they said, but I do know Eunwoo said that when he was younger DC was one of the cities he dreamed of visiting, and that it was a beautiful place~ And I think it was MJ(??) who said DC Aroha are the best of the 3 shows so far of course~ 😂😂 Omg and Rocky, when he was in the middle of his ment (I think that’s when this happened anyway aksbaj my awful memory) he just stops like mid-thought and goes “I can’t see” and does the most epic hair flip to get the hair out of his eyes, then just stands there for like 10 seconds basking in his new-found vision. It was so majestic and unexpected I doubled over laughing 😂😂😂 They also said they know it’s hard for us to see them and they were grateful to us for waiting for them, and they would be waiting for us in Korea as well~
For You & Me they first asked if everyone knew the choreo, and enough people said yes that the were like “alright then, show us what you got!” and the music for the chorus played and we all did our darn best to remember the choreo (I failed, I didn’t refresh my memory beforehand and couldn’t remember it well enough =w=;;;) They seemed genuinely impressed by how we did overall though! After that they had Sanha teach us how it goes cutely, and yeah, it’s exactly what you’d expect from that sentence 😂 Once everyone had learned from Captain Sanha and practiced a couple times, they started the song for real! And I already posted about it, but it really is softest, warmest, sweetest experience. To have everyone in the crowd doing choreo and interacting with their neighbors whether they knew them or not it just, i don’t even know how to describe it, it’s just nice?? And lots of people were giggling and smiling, including my right-side partner, which was so fun to turn to each time 💕💕 I definitely got a little emotional during it (but I didn’t cry! Go me!) Edit: Also I forgot but when Jinwoo started to move to the front to do his rap, MJ pushed him out of the way and did it instead! Jinwoo was hyping him up and laughing his butt off 😂😂 And MJ genuinely did really well
After Y&M they gave their official goodbye and left the stage, and almost immediately the crowd started chanting “encore!” and as expected, after a bit they came back out~
Encore:
Our encore was I’ll Be There and they were throwing out bags of gummy bears. Also for the encore a TON of people rushed the stage, including like everyone to the front and right of me. Soooooooo~ When Jinwoo threw some into our area, there was nobody but me to retrieve it :’) (I maaay have accidentally body slammed the seat in front of me trying to catch it 😅) In my wildest dreams he threw it to me on purpose, but in reality he never actually looked at me so I doubt it (it’s nice to have dreams though 😂) Some people who were up at the stage got some great footage of Jinwoo getting right up into their camera’s business so I look forward to seeing those 👀👀
Once they ran out of candy and the song ended it was officially time for them to say goodbye 😢 They gave their last “Wanna be your ☆” and took a bow, then headed backstage to chill until perks began!
Hi-Touch:
The staff decided to do hi touch first, and since I had both perks it took me a hot minute to realize I needed to get in line too (since I was sitting in P1 and nobody around me was moving lol) The girls I was in line with were very cute and nice - one of them was newer to the boys so she had a hard time telling Myungjin apart haha We tried to help her get them straight~ The line moved really quickly and when it was my turn my brain switched to auto pilot……
Jinwoo was first bc apparently the universe likes to see me Suffer. I don’t even remember what he looked like, all I remember is him seeing my shirt and saying “aaaah, slow~  😉” and all I could get out was a “yes!” 😂😵😵😭😭 Sanha was next in line but my brain was so busy processing the first interaction I have absolutely 0 memory of him, if I even managed to hi five him at all akdbaj like I completely just blacked out for a few seconds. Eunwoo was third and I regained myself enough to actually start looking at their faces, but I still couldn’t make my own sentences, so instead I started parroting what I was hearing from the members which was “thank you” - which is a fine thing to say and I wholly meant it, but I do wish I could have said a bit more… Bin was third and I also Do Not remember him, like, at all 😣 I’m so disappointed, he deserves better. But then came Rocky. There really must be something just inexplicably striking about Rocky, because I remember him pretty damn clearly all things considered! He had his big Rocko smile and it was strikingly beautiful 😪 Finally was MJ and I remember seeing him and thinking “I have to make sure he knows I genuinely love and support him!!” So I looked really hard at his face, but my brain was still *static noises* so all I could say was thank you :“) I tried to really sincerely say it and show him with my eyes that I meant it though!! And then it was over, and I took a big ole breath as I made my way down off the stage and back to my seat. And thus began the waiting for group pic. (The girl I had been sitting next to laughed when I came back 😂😂
Group Photo:
The line for P2 was pretty much a free for all, but the line for P1 was specifically done row by row. I was at the back of Orchestra Center, so I wasn’t first by any means but I was probably in the first 1/3. The setup was there were 8 chairs, and the boys stood behind the chairs. They were all doing different poses and switching it up for each pic while I was waiting in line (I’ve been told staff made them stop later on which is dumb af if you ask me like people are supposed??? To pose for pics??? Also have you met Astro aksbaj but ANYWAY).
Jinwoo was last this time, which meant if I wanted to be in front of him I had to be #1 in the group of 8. Well, they counted us, and I was #7. The girl behind me was 8, and her friend ended up being #1 of the next batch. The two clearly wanted to go together, and I wanted the #1 spot, so when staff wasn’t looking we quickly switched! And I got to sit directly in front of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he of course remembered me from when I did the hi touch like ~10 minutes ago lol I made sure to look at all the members again as I was walking up, esp Sanha since I missed him the first time! And again I’ve got Nothing on Bin (rip 😢), but Rocky’s smile seared itself into my psyche yet again 😂 When I finally walked up to Jinwoo I said “I get to sit by you! :DD” and he was like “yeah!” We sat down (god I wish I had actually clearly looked at his face, I have no memory of it from either interaction 😢😢😢) and I kinda tried to do a hand heart with him but he had other plans and was like “let’s do this instead!” (retrospectively I think maybe the girl behind me was also a Jinwoo stan so he wanted to do something with us both). So he LEANED DOWN BETWEEN US SO HIS FACE WAS SEVERAL INCHES FROM OUR EARS and made finger hearts for the first pics, then he said “cheeeeese!” (or it sounded like that to me anyway) and switched to peace signs for the second. I honestly have no idea what my face was doing the whole time soooo the pics could be fun >w>;; (I WAS JUST FOCUSED ON THE FACT I COULD FEEL HIS PRESENCE/BODY HEAT HOVERING OVER MY SHOULDER AND HIS HANDS WERE RIGHT NEXT TO MINE AKSHAJ). And then we were done! And I think I turned and smiled at him one last time as I was heading off the stage, and I think he smiled back, but who knows!! Certainly not me!!!
And that was that.
I went out into the theater hallway and just….existed for a bit (and yelled into all my chats lol) and more than one fan came out hysterically sobbing :( I think it was a mixture of happy and sad tears, like some people overwhelmed with happiness and others crying cuz they didn’t get the place in line they wanted.
All in all it was an amazing night, and completely worth being absolutely nuts and dropping everything to fly literally halfway across the country to attend. 100/10 would give all my money to these boys again (I mean they already own my heart and wallet anyway)
Also I didn’t know where to fit these tidbits in, but the members overall:
Jinjin - I mentioned it already but he was just a goofy happy boy! So many smiles, so many silly actions. I didn’t think I could love him even more and yet :”)
MJ - He sunshined a number of times but overall seemed really tired, which is COMPLETELY understandable (I really feel like he’s an introvert, and I can imagine how draining an international tour would be) and I just hope he’s feeling ok and was able to enjoy himself!! 😣
Rocky - He was also quite lively and just giving fanservice left and right! I didn’t watch him too much but even then I could see him waving and throwing hearts and smiles to people 💕
Eunwoo - I really didn’t watch him at all but I’ve been told he was also giving out just tons of personal fanservice~
Sanha - My favorite son, he just had us all cooing and giggling the whole night. He really did seem to be in good spirits!
Moonbin - I’m sorry Bin stans….. I’m sorry Bin….. I don’t know why my brain just decided to completely block him out but 😢😢😢 I barely remember anything he said/did besides what I already talked about. His muscles were probably too powerful 😣😣

Hidden Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Eunwoo has had feelings for you for a while now, and you feel the same foe him. But, neither of you could confess to the other, until Eunwoo makes a bold confession. Male reader x Eunwoo
Words: 2,842 oH
Genre: Fluff
A/N: I’M SORRY THIS TOOK AGES. I had been busy and then I had to rewrite some parts because I didn’t like it. I really hope you enjoy this, even if it took a long time, I had fun writing it. Again I’m sorry for the wait and sorry for any spelling errors
“Are you going to meet him?” Jinwoo asked not looking up from his phone. Eunwoo paused putting on his coat to look at his hyung.
“Yeah. We were texting yesterday about hanging out again.” After his short answer he put on his coat and went for his shoes.
“But you two just hung out no less than a week ago.” The youngest whined from his spot on the couch. Eunwoo sighed.
“You know we are going to have a packed Schedule soon and I told him we would hang out before things got too crazy.”
“Are you sure it's not something, I don't know, more?”
The question made him stop in his tracks. Only one member knew the truth about Eunwoo’s feelings but was forced to keep it a secret from the rest.
“I'm just kidding, no need to tense up.” The oldest giggled. Eunwoo relaxed but not entirely, worried that his closeted friend would spill his secret at anytime. He locked eyes with Moonbin. In return Moonbin nodded as a sign saying, I won't tell them unless you want me too.
Eunwoo sighed. Looking at his watch he saw that if he didn't head out, he would be late. He turned to everyone in the room.
“I'll be going now. Please don't trash the dorm while I'm gone.” He said with a smile.
“No promises!” He heard from Sanha as he closed the front door. He shook his head at the boys. He took a deep breath and smiled to himself as he headed for the cafe you two talked about.
Ten minutes later the cafe comes into his view. A smile forms on his face when he walks by the window and finds you sitting there on your phone.
He walks into the cafe but you don't notice him at first. Eunwoo is wearing a ta coat with blue ripped jeans and a face mask on.
He takes the empty seat in front of you. Still oblivious, you don't even look up as you talk to him.
“I'm sorry but that seat is taken, I'm waiting for my friend.”
He let out a chuckle.
“Maybe if you looked up from your phone every once and awhile.”
This started you look up instantaneously. He pulls down his mask a little bit and smiles at you. Your eyes grow wide and you put down the phone.
“Aish I'm sorry. I didn't even see you come in.”
Eunwoo laughs again. He gets up from his seat and looks down to you.
“What would you like?” He asked with a smile. You give him a confused look. “What would you like to drink?”
“f/d please.”
“So, the usually?” You nod with a smile on your face.
“Honestly didn’t think you would remember because we haven’t seen each other in far too long.” You say in a dramatic tone. You put your hand on your heart in fake heart ache. He tries to give you an unamued look but fails when he can’t hold it in. You peaked through your closed eyes to see him, when you saw his sly smile you upped your game.
“I think I’m going to die from all this heartbreak. I haven’t seen you in forever, I thought you forgot about me I’m crushed.” A chuckle inturups your dramatic show.
“We saw each other three days ago, how could I forget one of the most important people in my life?”
The question shocked you. For all the years you have known each other he never told you how important you are to him. He has always said that he was lucky to have you but never went any further on the subject.
“W-what about the boys?”
He sighed and sat back down.
“I’m talking about outside my idol life. I’m talking about when I was in school with you, yes ASTRO and AROHAs are important to me but I haven’t known them as long as we have known each other. We have gone through so much together stress from school exams, summer jobs in the ramen shop down the street, and so many personal problems. You are like family to me, and we both know we would do anything for our family. Now I’m going to get those drinks and then maybe we can head to the park.”
His rant left you speechless, yes you two had been friends during school and when he left for training, it had hurt you, but you were happy because he didn't forget about you.
Eunwoo let out a chuckle and got back up. He leaves you sitting there in shock, but a smile forms on your face and a blush forms on your cheeks. You zoned out thinking about the relationship between you and him. For a long time you had just been friends, at some point, you begun to have feelings for him. After your feelings had surfaced, you saw Eunwoo in a new light. Whenever you two hung out, you would notice the little things he did and found them super cute. Eunwoo had returned to find you staring at your hands. He had a concerned and confused look on his face. He set down your drink in front of you, hoping it would get your attention, it didn't. You continued to stare at your hands and when you smiled to yourself, a smile had found its way onto his face.
Little to your knowledge, Eunwoo felt the same way you did. One of his favorite things was seeing you smiling and laughing. He sat down and just stared at you, not in a creepy way, in a loving, admiring way. He looks at you the way Flynn looked at Rapunzel. His expression changes, he props his head on his left hand as he wonders what is causing you to smile like that.
I know what would make me smile like that, you.
He himself snapped out if a daze, remembering the day that is waiting for you two.
“As much as i love to see you happy, we should get going to the park before it gets too crowded.”
You snapped out of your daze and looked up at him. He gave you his signature smile which made you blush at the thought of him catching you in your own little world.
He handed you the drink and you thanked him with a smile.
“Alright let's go!”
You shot up from the table like you were about to go on the adventure of a lifetime. He stood up and you two headed out the cafe.
“Let me guess, you want to go on the swings?”
You sent him a smile.
“Oh you know it.”
By the time you two reached the park, your drink was gone and he was close to finishing his. You threw your empty cup in a rubbish bin nearby. Once the swings came into view, you went right for them.
“Come join me.” You said as you motioned at the swing next to you. He sighed but walked over to the swing next to you. You began to swing slowly. As you swing, you had started to stare up at the sky. As evening drew close, the color of the sky started to change from a light blue to a ombré of orange and red.
You thought about how everything was going right now. How you are sitting on the swings with your now idol friend/crush. You could care less about the fact that he is an idol, you just wondered if you had told him about your feelings a long time ago, if anything would be different.
While you were lost in thought, so was Eunwoo. He was thinking about his life and how his idol life would get in the way of your relationship. He would love to speak up and tell you his true feelings, but he is scared that it could put unnecessary stress on the both of you. He didn't want to add to the stress of you being a student. He wouldn't admit it but he worried about you being friends with him due to his idol life.
The sound of his phone brought him out of his thoughts. He takes his phone out of his pocket and reads the message. It caused him to sigh. He send a quick reply and stood up from the swing. He admired you for a moment then tapped you on the head
“I hate to stop this, but i need to get back to the company. They want me for an interview.”
You send him a sad smile.
“That's fine,” you got up from the swing,
“I’m glad that we spent the majority of the day together.”
As you reach the entrance to the park you two stop and say one last goodbye to each other.
“Thank you for hanging out with me today, even with your busy life. I haven't had the best time at school due to exams soon and this made some of the stress lift.” You said not looking at him.
Eunwoo looked at you for a moment then pulled you into a hug. The sudden contact caused you to blush slightly.
“If you ever need to talk about anything, I won't always be by my phone but I will answer. You can text me a rant out that one English teacher who won’t leave you alone. You can rant any time you want and I will be there, I may be a bit late but I will always be there when you need me.”
You smile into his chest.
“What if I just want to talk about random things and not about school. What if i just want to talk to,” you paused, “what if I just want to talk to you”
You say with a blush on your cheeks. You are happy that he is hugging oh so he can’t see your face.
He doesn't say anything, but you knew his answer when you heard his laugh. You two separate from the hug and give one last goodbye then go your separate ways.
You get back to your house and head straight for the couch. Dropping face first into the cushion you sigh. Sometimes you want to tell him how you feel but you know it could just cause so many problems for him.
Hey! Eunwoo has a interview on right now. I think you should watch it.
Moonbin texts you about his interview, he gives you the info on where it was being shown.
It's just another interview. I can watch it later, i just want to take a nap.
NO you need to watch it, you know in case something important happen. I told Eunwoo that you would watch it.
Fine I'll watch it for him
You turn on the tv in front of you to the channel showing the interview. You sit back and watch.
“Before we end this interview I would like to ask one more question, is there anything you would like to say?”
Eunwoo smiles and looks down at his lap. He takes a deep breath
“Thank you to AROHA for all the support not only supporting me but also the rest of ASTRO. We can’t thank you all enough for the amount of love and support you give us.”
He paused and looked at the crew behind the camera. He nodded at someone, most likely his manager then turned his attention back to the camera.
“I have one person I would like to speak to. Y/N, I’m sure that moonbin made you watch this and there is a reason for that. There is something I wanted to tell you for a while but I never thought it was the right time for either of us. I have my idol life and you have your student life, and it could end bad for us, but I can’t keep quiet anymore.”
The whole room he was in was silent. Everyone was waiting his next sentence. You on the other side of the screen were shocked that he mentioned you directly. Sometimes he would mention you but he would always make it subtle. Small references to something that one of you had said. You watched the screen in front of you intensely when he spoke again.
“I have had feelings for you for years. There I finally said it. I have liked you since I was in school with you, I just never wanted to tell you because didn’t think you would feel the same.”
Your whole world was silent. No noise anywhere, every sound, even the cars passing outside, was gone. His words played over and over in your head.after a minute of thinking about what he had just said, a smile forms on your face. Your phone goes off next to you.
FINALLY!!!!
Moonbin’s message made you giggle. The smile doesn't leave your face as you look back at the screen. They have ended the interview and Eunwoo was shown on screen for one last time. He was smiling so wide, happy that he could get his feelings out there.
You quickly picked up your phone and sent him a text.
I didn't. Know that the e in Eunwoo stood for extra. You had to confess to me during an interview?  If you can, come to the park tonight. I really want to see you.
You bite your lip hoping for a quick reply.when he doesn't reply you sigh and put down the phone and head to the bathroom to take a shower.
After you get out of the shower you wipe off the mirror and stare at your reflection, thinking. Once you get dressed you take your phone and sit on the bed. You freeze when you see a. New message from him.
I was too nervous to confess face to face, so Binnie helped me come with the idea of confessing during the interview. I will be at the park at 6, I can’t wait to see you
At 6? You look at the time and see it is almost 6:30. Your eyes grow wide as you run to the front door, and frontally look for your shoes. Once found you throw them on and head out the door, slamming it behind you.
You got to the park ten minutes later, slightly worried that he may have left. You looked around the playground for Eunwoo. Hen you didn't see him, not on one of the play sets nor the benches for the parents to watch their children. Your face fell, thinking he had left. You took a seat on the swings and moved your legs slightly.
Something pushed you and you began to swing higher, this startled you. You looked back to find Eunwoo, he had a smile on his face. You stopped swinging and got up in front of him.
“I thought you left.”
“Why would I? I know that you keep your word, I just thought you would be a little late.”
He smiles at you and you bot fall silent, not really knowing what to do now. He takes a deep breath and takes you hand. You look at him in surprise.
“I want to confess properly, not over a tv screen. Y/N, i have had the biggest crush on you since we were in school together, i just didn't know how to tell you at the time. I honestly don't know if you feel the same but i needed to get my feelings out there.”
You gave him a smile.
“I’m glad you told me. I wish you said something earlier it could have possibly saved Binnie’s ears from me talking about you to him everyday. You have nothing to be worried about because I have had the biggest crush on you for a long time now.”
His smile was as bright as the stars in the night sky. You two didn't say anything to each other, just stared at one another. You cupped his cheek with your hand and looked into his eyes. Getting lost in his eyes you failed to notice the space between you two was becoming smaller and smaller. You only noticed it when his lips found yours.
Your eyes went wide at first but within seconds you melted into the kiss. That sounded better in my head. You two broke from the kiss and you both had a slight blush on you cheeks. You two stayed close to each other for a while until he spoke up.
“Y/N? Will you be my boyfriend?”
You kiss him once more. When you two break away from the kiss you smile at him.
“I would love too.”
After the confession in the park, you two make your way back to your home. You stop on the way to get some takeout and snacks. Once you got home, you two put on movies and cuddle until you both fell asleep in each other's arms on the couch.

Authors Notes; My first dive into the world of writing for Astro! This was based on a prompt and was meant to be a short drabble, but the story took off (as you can probably tell from the word count). There are cameos from other groups, such as KNK, Snuper, SF9, and Gugudan. I would like to maybe write the KNK version of this story in future, I have some SF9 writing to do first though! Anyway, I hope you enjoy, and I would love feedback ^-^
Park Jinwoo did not like field trips. Sure they were a fantastic learning resource, and it was a well-needed break from the monotony of the classroom - but he always had the worst luck when he went on one. For example; his first ever field trip was to the local park back in his old elementary school. It was just a short trip to look at the different types of trees, and collect leaves for their art project. Nothing too dramatic happened until right at the end, when their teacher was recalling the class to head back to the school. Jinwoo heard her calling them, and as he was walking back somehow tripped over his shoelaces - how did they come undone? - and landed face first in a puddle. His brand new school bag was now soaking wet - along with the rest of him, and his classmates just laughed at his misfortune. That was the first of many incidents with Jinwoo on field trips, they usually ended with him making a fool of himself and people laughing at him. It had been quite some time since he had been on a field trip though, so maybe his curse of bad luck had worn off by now? He was in high school after all, and you can’t be unlucky all your life - at least that was his best friend Myungjun’s reasoning.
So after a few days of constant begging from Myungjun and whining from his next door neighbour Sanha (“Hyung if I can’t go because I’m too young then you have to go for me and tell me everything about it, that’s only fair!”), Jinwoo handed in his signed permission slip for the overnight trip to an island resort. Really though, there were so many other places their school could have chosen to go for their Geography field trip; if it was the beach they wanted then there was one only an hour away from the school, and if it was for the forests then why not just go to the National Park? Why did it have to be an overnight trip anyway? More time outside of school while still technically being “in school” gave the universe extra opportunities to mess with Jinwoo. He made sure to grumble all of this to his friends as he was packing a bag for their trip.
“Don’t be ridiculous Jinjin, the universe wouldn’t waste her precious time just messing with you on field trips - it’s all in your head.”
“Oh really? Then explain to me how every field trip I’ve ever been on in the past ten years of my life has all involved some embarrassing incident on my behalf?”
Jinwoo added one last spare t-shirt to his suitcase and done a mental tally. That brought it to; two pairs of jeans, three pairs of shorts (one for swimming), two shirts, five t-shirts, one tank top (for sleeping), a hoodie and a warm outdoor jacket. There were also four pairs of underwear, six pairs of socks, spare shoes, two towels, a mini first aid kit and an extra belt. Compared to Myungjun’s small overnight bag - sleepwear, a change of t-shirt, socks, and a pair of shorts in case it was really warm - Jinwoo was overpacked. But he could never be too careful; there was no way he would let the universe catch him unprepared, a four-hour bus ride from home. Sanha eyed up his full suitcase and pinned him with a judgemental look. For a kid who was two years their junior, he really had no shame in speaking his mind to them both.
“It’s been almost two years since you were last on a field trip right hyung?”
“You know it was Sanha, you were there on my las-” “Soooooo, maybe whatever bad luck curse you were under before has worn off! Most of those things don’t last too long anyway, right? Like breaking a mirror is seven years bad luck but I can’t think of any that would be ten years in length. So yeah, you’ll be fine! Make sure to take lots of pictures for me ok?”
Myungjun laughed and clapped Sanha on the back, the kid was just so full of energy and positivity it was hard not to smile around him. Jinwoo just shook his head and sighed, as much as Sanha might believe his curse was lifted, there was still a feeling of dread in his stomach. Before he could change his mind last minute, his mother called up saying the bus was outside. Myungjun had stayed the night in his house so they could get on together that morning (and also so he could make sure Jinwoo didn’t try to back out). They grabbed their bags; one with clothes and overnight essentials and their school bags with all the things they needed for the learning aspect of the trip and rushed downstairs. Saying goodbye to Sanha at the door and promising to bring him a gift back, the pair boarded the bus with the rest of their classmates and headed off.
He must have nodded off to sleep at some point on the journey because Jinwoo woke up to Myungjun snoring away on his shoulder and the smell of a sea breeze coming in the window of the bus. A quick look at his watch verified this, they were only twenty minutes from their destination. The weird fluttery feeling in his stomach intensified as they drove across the bridge to the island they were visiting, and he woke Myungjun up just as the resort came into view. His sleepy yawns turned into wide eyed gasps, as he flung himself across Jinwoo’s lap to look out the window at their destination. There was no blaming him, it looked incredible and all the other students on their side of the bus were scrambling to do the same. Everyone was suddenly wide awake and chatting excitedly, and the volume reached its peak as they pulled into the parking lot right inside the main entrance. As all the students from both classes got off the bus and retrieved their bags - Jinwoo was relieved to see he wasn’t the only one to bring a whole suitcase - they formed a messy huddle around the two teachers to hear what they had to say.
“Alright everyone, I hope the trip wasn’t too exhausting for you - I noticed quite a few sleepy heads boarding the bus this morning! We have a lot planned over these two days so it is very important we all stick to our schedules. But before we give you any information on our plans, Mr. Im has a rather important announcement for you all.”
“Yes thank you, Ms. Choi. So as you all know before I joined our wonderful little school as a teacher, I used to be part of the staff in FTG’s School of Excellence. Well, I met with an ex-colleague of mine, and he is also bringing his geography class here to this resort for a field trip! So in the interest of inter-school relations, we will be working and staying with them for the duration of our time here.”
All 58 students in the huddle suddenly fell silent at this. FTG was a private boarding school for boys and girls with exceptional talent in the same area as their own little public school. All the students were said to be incredibly beautiful and trained in various types of performance, as well as academics. A younger cousin of Jinwoo’s - Park Minhyuk - went to that school, he auditioned as a dancer and was accepted in a heartbeat. The only thing stopping Jinwoo from going to the school himself was Myungjun; his best friend couldn’t afford the private fees and there was no way Jinwoo was going to leave him to face high school alone. Everyone started murmuring amongst themselves, no doubt wondering if the rumours of all the students being perfect specimens were true, and Jinwoo felt his stomach knot up even more.
“All right settle down everyone, I know it is an unexpected announcement but we discussed it in the department and we all think it is a wonderful way to get to know the students your age from the other school. They will be arriving in an hour or so, but until then let’s all go over our own schedules ok?”
Ms. Choi ran through the agenda for the next two days; they were to check in and leave their overnight bags in the resort rooms first, and then after meeting with the other school they would be split into mixed groups and start on their field work. Myungjun was babbling into Jinwoos ear as they made their way into the reception, gasping and squealing in excitement when he saw all the gorgeous decor inside. They were lucky enough to get a room together, but they were also one of the rooms that would be sharing with two students from FTG. After having a quick look around the room, claiming their bunk beds, and unpacking a few things (and Myungjun claiming “this is the biggest cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in my life just look at it!”), the pair made their way back down to the lobby where they were to wait for the others and be split into groups.
“MJ, I really have a bad feeling about this whole trip. I mean I knew something embarrassing was going to happen while we were here, but now I get the suspicion that the universe is going to make a fool of me in front of the FTG students which will be a million times worse.”
“How many times do I have to say it Jinjin, the universe isn’t so petty she would waste her time on you here in this resort. In all honesty, after all the times you’ve managed to embarrass yourself on trips, I wouldn’t be surprised if the universe actually did you a favour this time.”
Jinwoo snorted at that, no way would anything good ever come from a field trip that he went on. He was doomed to be cursed for the rest of his life with misfortune and embarrassment. They made it back to their class groups in one piece, and everyone was chatting excitedly about the trip but also meeting the others. Jinwoo was convinced he heard a few girls giggling about maybe having a cliché romantic moment with one of the students. He rolled his eyes and flopped down on a chair next to Heejun, one of the guys from his class, and Myungjun joined them sitting on the floor. They spoke a little about the project and the kind of things they hoped to see on their tours of the island. Heejun was really hoping to get into the beach group, he didn’t want to walk around the forest where there were loads of bugs and things that could jump out at him. As Myungjun started teasing him about finding a tall, strong FTG guy to look after him, Jinwoo closed his eyes and let the constant noise chatter lull him to sleep. He was rudely shaken awake by a flustered Jihun, another boy from his class, flinging himself onto the floor beside him and almost dragging him off the couch.
“Dude, what was that for?”
“Sorry, Jinwoo I really didn’t mean to pull on you like that. It’s just, the FTG students arrived and I saw the most handsome guy on the planet - and then realised I’ve made a fool of myself in front of him before so I had to hide before he saw me.”
Jinwoo sat up straight and looked around, it seemed like he just missed the class arriving and all he could see were uniformed backs disappearing around the corner toward the elevators and stairs. He wasn’t too bothered though, they would be seeing plenty of their peers over the next two days. As he stood, he offered a hand down to Jihun, who was still lying on the floor and helped pull him up. Of course, his help only lasted about half way - after which point Jihun dwarfed Jinwoo in height.
Mr. Im called them all outside so they could be split into their two groups. He explained that FTG’s teacher had already divided his group up and they would just join them at the start of their tour. Jinwoo was disappointed that he and Myungjun wouldn’t be together, while he was going to the beach his best friend was being shipped into the forest. Heejun was also in the forest group, much to his dismay, while Jihun was with Jinwoo for the beach. While most people would have considered Jinwoo to be a very outgoing and social person, he only really had a few close friends. He was happy Jihun was in his group, he also knew another guy called Sebin - who was in the other Geography class - and two girls from his own class named Sally and Sejeong. They were good enough friends that he could talk to them and discuss their project, so Jinwoo was determined he would stick with them and give the universe no opportunity to embarrass him in front of anyone from FTG.
They waved goodbye to the other group, Heejun and Jihun being the over-the-top pair they always were and dramatically crying and sending each other hearts and kisses. Jinwoo laughed and rolled his eyes as Myungjun jumped on Heejun’s back to wave to him as they separated. Their group made their way down to the beach, the sun was out but there was a chilly sea breeze so he was happy he wore a hoodie. After about ten minutes of waiting with their island tour guide, the eleven students from FTG made their appearance. Jihun had been doing his trademark aegyo to make a few of the others in their class laugh when he suddenly screeched and tried to hide behind Jinwoo, despite being a good 10cm taller than him. When Jinwoo looked at the group who had just arrived, he could only assume one of them was the handsome boy from earlier that Jihun had been trying to hide from. He only could assume, because there were four guys in the group who Jinwoo thought could have fit the description of “most handsome guy on the planet” - their yearbook must be like a modelling catalogue or something.
Ms. Choi introduced the group’s leader, a teaching assistant by the name of Ms. Jung - who herself was an ex-student of FTG. The FTG students all introduced themselves, and Jihun inhaled sharply when a certain Park Seungjun spoke - Jinwoo could relate, his voice was deeper than expected and he was even taller than Jihun. The student who caught Jinwoo’s attention most though was Cha Eunwoo. He was tall - probably about the same height as Jihun, if not slightly shorter - but his voice was clear as crystal and his smile was angelic. The weird feeling Jinwoo had in his stomach since crossing the bridge to the island suddenly changed, and now he had butterflies whenever this Eunwoo person laughed. The universe had started her plot, but Jinwoo was determined not to let it come to fruition.
For the most part of their tour and work time on the beach, Jinwoo managed to avoid any mishaps that could lead to embarrassment. He played off his stumble going down onto the rocks as messing about; when the water suddenly rushed over their feet he held in his girlish shriek, and when he slipped on a bit of seaweed going back up towards the resort, he pretended he had purposefully done it to give Sebin a hug. Success was within his reach, no outright moments of mortification and he had even managed to avoid being in the presence of Eunwoo while they were collecting their samples and taking photos. Jinwoo thought that he was finally getting the upper hand against the universe in her game of field trip failures.
Their whole group moved to an outdoor patio area, with delicate parasols set up around the tables and some tall flower pots filled with colourful, fragrant flowers decorating the space. They had to pair up to compare the notes they took and begin to analyse their samples for the project. Jihun had practically jumped on Jinwoo and insisted they partnered up. Apparently, he had made a fool of himself in front of Seungjun twice during the course of the beach work, and he refused to possibly get paired up with him for this too. Jinwoo laughed a little and patted his tall friends back, he could relate to embarrassing himself on trips enough and offered his support. They had gotten a lot of work done in their allocated hour, and when the two teachers called for them to finish up and head back to the main resort area, the students all cheered with relief. As they were packing up, everyone started spreading out to take photos of the sun setting on the beach or the twinkling lights that had turned on over the patio. They had all started walking in a line away from the seating area and Jinwoo somehow ended up right behind Eunwoo, but fortunately, he was talking to another super tall, handsome FTG student in front of him (Jinwoo was pretty sure his name was Rowoon). Jinwoo turned around and started talking to the two girls behind him as they walked, not paying much attention to the boy in front of him since he believed to have finally beaten his bad luck curse.
They were almost back at the resort when Jinwoo’s illusion of good luck was shattered. Looking back now, he really should have been paying more attention and this would never have happened. Sally had even tried to warn him, but unfortunately, she was too late - the universe had finally gotten her chance to cause another embarrassing moment for Jinwoo on field trips. The students in front of Jinwoo had walked further than them, probably due to their extra long legs and the fact they weren’t looking backward while talking. Jinwoo had been craning his neck while looking behind him to see Jihun walking with that Seungjun guy from FTG, Sebin was also talking to another FTG student called Woosung just in front of them. He was just about to joke with the girls how their other friends were definitely getting to know their fellow students when he noticed Sally waving her arms at him. He then noticed that she and Sejeong had both stopped walking and just as he was about to ask them what was wrong, he felt himself collide with something (or someone) in front of him. Jinwoo wasn’t even walking that fast honestly, not fast enough that the force of suddenly stopping would cause him to fall over. But when he quickly turned around he saw it was Eunwoo he had crashed into, and the shock of seeing such a tall cute guy so close to him made Jinwoo fall backward and land on his butt. The universe had finally gotten to embarrass him, and in front of an FTG student no less. Jinwoo was completely mortified; if falling over after crashing into him wasn’t bad enough, he had somehow managed to land in a puddle on the ground and his jeans were being slowly soaked through.
Of course, since he had managed to avoid this all day, the universe was being particularly cruel to him in this moment. As Eunwoo leaned down to offer him a hand and pull him up (his hands were soft and he was quite strong, Jinwoo noted), the shorter boy saw that the forest group had returned at a similar time and most likely had seen his accident. Jinwoo felt his face flush crimson, he quickly thanked Eunwoo for helping him and apologised for bumping into him, then walked as quickly as he could into the lobby without actually breaking into a run. He heard someone call his name, it might have been Eunwoo in which case he was glad he didn’t stop. All he wanted to do was go hide in his room and die, maybe he could convince Ms. Choi he was sick tomorrow and avoid having to see Eunwoo and his cute face ever again. Just as he was turning the corner to get to his room, he felt a hand on his shoulder, he had been thinking so loudly he didn’t notice there was someone following him.
“Jinjin seriously are you gone deaf? I have been calling you since you all but sprinted away from that tall dude outside but you completely ignored me. Man, I need to do more cardio because running up those stairs after you was not fun.”
Trust Myungjun to give out about his fitness in moments like this. Jinwoo felt like he was actually going to cry, and he must have looked it too because his friend grabbed him by the wrist and dragged him the last few steps into their room. When they closed the door and switched on the lights, they saw the two other suitcases sitting unopened against the wall, which then reminded Jinwoo that he would have to spend the night with two FTG students who knew Eunwoo and more than likely saw his accident, and he wanted to die all over again. Before he could throw himself onto the bed and hope for the soft blankets to swallow him whole, Myungjun pushed him towards the bathroom.
“You need a shower for three reasons. Firstly; your butt is wet from the puddle you fell into, and I will not let you get sick. Second of all; your hair is a mess, probably from that sea breeze and salty water. And three; you need to clear your head and you’ve always said, you do your best thinking in the shower.”
His friend was right, Jinwoo hadn’t realised the second thing about his hair, but he figured that it didn’t matter much since he had already fallen over and embarrassed himself. He grabbed a change of clothes and headed into the shower. Just as he was about to turn on the water, he could have sworn he heard voices coming from the bedroom, but he ignored it and just went for his shower. Myungjun was right, the running water did help him to clear his thoughts and after he got changed and went out to the room he was feeling much better. Myungjun was sitting on the bed with a smug look on his face, and he brightly greeted Jinwoo when he came into the room.
“MJ, you know I get nervous when you smile at me like that. What happened?”
“It’s nothing to worry about Jinjin, I promise! Now we have to go down for dinner so I hope you’ve gotten your thoughts together!”
Jinwoo didn’t trust his friend's words and narrowed his eyes at him to show as much. But the prospect of food after his long day out in the fresh air caused his stomach to grumble, so they both headed down. While he showered, his head had cleared up and Jinwoo realised that on the grand scale of things, what happened was not the worst by a long shot. The most embarrassing field trip mishap was still held by their dance team’s visit to the state championships, which resulted in a sprained ankle, burnt chest and having to pay a ridiculously high fee for dry-cleaning. It wasn’t exactly the least embarrassing either though, mainly due to the fact he had bumped into perhaps one of the most handsome guys he had ever met. As the pair made their way down to the restaurant, Jinwoo swore to himself he would make sure not to let the universe cause him any more hassle on this trip. He kept his head down as they entered the room, and looked around the table they were sat at with relief. Jihun, Heejun, and Sebin were there, along with Sally and Sejeong, and a few others he knew well enough from his classes. The meal was bright and cheerful, Jihun made Jinwoo feel much better about his little incident by retelling all the times he had embarrassed himself in front of Seungjun (once before today, and so far five times and counting). He didn’t seem too upset about it though, laughing at his own mistakes and Heejun almost fell off his chair from laughing so hard at one point. Maybe Jinwoo wouldn’t have to hide away for the rest of the school year, if Jihun could be so positive about what happened to him then Jinwoo could laugh at himself too.
After they had cleared off the last of their plates, a few of them went outside to look at the night sky. It was so clear out here, you could see hundreds of stars shining in the sky, and Jinwoo felt at peace. Unfortunately, the peace didn’t last as long as he would have liked it too. Just as they were approaching their room, Myungjun started getting hyper and giggly again, but Jinwoo didn’t have the energy to ask him what was going on. It had been a long day, and he felt drained physically and emotionally from all the work they had done on top of his embarrassing incident. He opened the door to their room and was immediately greeted with the sight of a shirtless guy (with pretty impressive abs Jinwoo had to admit). Myungjun squawked a bit when he walked in behind him, but the guy (one of their FTG roommates his brain supplied) didn’t seem bothered.
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you! My name is Moonbin, I’m from FTG and I’ll be sharing with you guys tonight. You must be Jinwoo then? I met Myungjun earlier since we were both in the forest project group. Minnie is just in the bathroom doing his skin care routine, he should be out in a few minutes. I always tell him he doesn’t need to focus on his looks so much since he is naturally gorgeous but he insists. Anyway I hope you don’t mind I took the other top bunk, it looked like you guys had your beds already chosen?”
Jinwoo was surprised this guy - Moonbin - barely breathed in between sentences. Myungjun just nodded from beside him, even he took breaks in between hyperactive monologues like that. Moonbin smiled brightly and his eyes creased up into little crescents, he seemed to pause for a moment almost as if he was thinking about something. Then he looked down at himself and realised he wasn’t wearing a shirt.
“OH MY GOSH I’M SO SORRY AM I MAKING YOU UNCOMFORTABLE?!! LET ME PUT A SHIRT ON OH, WOW I REALLY AM SO SO SORRY!!”
He was yelling and seemed to be quite embarrassed, he sprinted over to his bunk and quickly pulled on a shirt. It was a very loose tank top, but it was better. Jinwoo heard Myungjun let out a small sigh beside him, and one look at his friend confirmed his face was quite flushed from the encounter. Not that Jinwoo could blame him, Moonbin was pretty attractive and seemed like a nice guy. In order to make sure the atmosphere didn’t get too awkward, Jinwoo smiled and went to his own bunk to get his sleep wear.
“You don’t need to apologise dude, if I had abs like yours I would walk around shirtless too!”
Myungjun snorted at that, he knew Jinwoo was in good shape from all his dancing and understood he was trying to break the tension. Myungjun went to sit on Jinwoo’s bed as well, and the three of them started to talk a little about nothing in particular. It mainly consisted of Jinwoo and Moonbin discussing dance and Myungjun occasionally interrupting with some lame joke. Moonbin had convinced Jinwoo to show off his abs too (“it’s only fair, you’ve seen mine!”) when the door to the bathroom opened. He looked up and promptly fell on his butt for the second time that day, for the same reason. Eunwoo walked out of the bathroom in a t-shirt and shorts, obviously ready for bed, his hair was slightly damp and his skin was glowing. His cheeks were slightly pink when he looked at Jinwoo, and then he realised he had done the same as Moonbin earlier and was currently shirtless. As much as his brain was screaming for him to move and cover himself up, or throw himself out the window whichever was easier, his body refused to comply. He wasn’t sure how long he had been sitting on the ground staring at Eunwoo, and being stared back at, before Myungjun threw his sleep clothes at his head and Moonbin burst into a fit of giggles.
“Ummm, yeah right ok, so I’ll just go and get changed and brush my teeth and everything now, yup ok. Sorry about that, and sorry about earlier too.”
He was babbling as he scrambled to his feet and shuffled to the bathroom, his cheeks coloured bright red. As he shut the door behind him he wanted to scream in frustration, the universe really had it out for him on this trip, this was two embarrassing moments involving the same super cute guy. For a moment, the thought of locking himself in the bathroom and not coming out until the trip was over passed through his head, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen. Myungjun may be small, but he was determined when he wanted to be. That plan of action would come to a very quick end.
Then Jinwoo thought of the stories Jihun had told them all over dinner. Despite making a fool of himself several times in front of Seungjun, the taller guy still wanted to talk to him and even laughed at his antics. Jinwoo took a deep breath to calm himself, he may have embarrassed himself in front of Eunwoo, but he was not going to let that stop him from possibly becoming friends with the guy. Moonbin was really nice and if he could at least get along a little less awkwardly with Eunwoo he might be able to keep up a friendship with the two of them. With a plan in mind, Jinwoo got ready for bed and steeled himself to go back out to the room.
When he walked out of the bathroom, he had been expecting his three roommates for the night to be sitting around their bunks talking, or even for Eunwoo to have left in a worse case scenario. Jinwoo certainly was not expecting to see the taller student still standing where he had left him facing away from the bathroom door. He looked over Eunwoo’s shoulder towards the beds and found Myungjun and Moonbin trying to suppress their giggles into a pillow. Knowing his friend, this did not bode well for his plan of becoming tentative friends with the two FTG boys.
“MJ, is everything ok?”
At the sound of his voice, Eunwoo jumped and spun around to face him. His cheeks were still dusted a rosy pink, and his eyes were wide. Jinwoo caught his eyes quickly flicking down to his chest, and the brown haired boy seemed to let out a small shaky sigh and looked up (or was it down?) to meet Jinwoo’s eyes.
“Umm, hi? We were in the same group for the tour earlier on? I’m Eunwoo, and you’re Jinwoo?”
His voice was a little uncertain, and he ended every sentence like it was a question. But it was a cute voice that matched his cute face, and Jinwoo felt the butterflies return in force to his stomach. This was a positive sign though right? Eunwoo wasn’t running away and seemed to want to talk to him. Or maybe he was just being polite, he seemed like he could be that kind of person too. There was only one way to find out for sure though.
“Yeah, we were on the beach team together, although we didn’t see much of each other out there. I’m Jinwoo, and ummm, I’m sorry for running into you earlier. And for flashing you just there, I really didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable or anything. It’s just - the universe has a thing against me on field trips.”
That last part definitely caught Eunwoo’s attention anyway. His brows furrowed and he looked at Jinwoo with confusion. He had opened his mouth to question him, but before he could get a word out, Myungjun butted into their conversation. Jinwoo may have forgotten there were others in the room.
“Lay off the whole ‘the-universe-is-against-me’ thing already would you Jinjin? We’ve already told you - you’re just being paranoid. It’s not fate or whatever conspiring to make you fall over and embarrass yourself on every field trip you’ve ever been on.”
Jinwoo scowled at his friend, he had never believed him or his conviction against this. Sanha used to believe him and even worked with him to find ways to rid himself of the curse. But as soon as Sanha met Myungjun, he changed his mind and became another non-believer - despite seeing first hand the embarrassing situations he always ended up in. Jinwoo never really had anyone else he was close enough to that he could confide this in; Minhyuk was so practical and since he never saw any incidents, Jinwoo couldn’t ask his cousin to believe him. And yet, here he was spilling his deepest secret to a practical stranger, a cute one sure, but that shouldn’t be enough to make Jinwoo trust him like this. Especially not after he embarrassed himself in front of him. But there was just something about Eunwoo that Jinwoo couldn’t help but confide in him.
“The universe is out to get you too? I thought I was the only one, none of my friends will believe me. How long have you been cursed?”
When had Eunwoo leaned in so close? Jinwoo wasn’t sure, he was so caught up in his own internal crisis he really hadn’t noticed the taller student moving into his space until he spoke. There was a tone to his voice that made Jinwoo believe he wasn’t messing with him though, Eunwoo really had experience with this too.
“Ye - yeah, since about ten years ago. Any field trip I have ever gone on has ended with me embarrassing myself in some way. There was one really bad time about three years ago; I tripped over something and sprained my ankle, and then as I stood up I fell into a competition adjudicator and got coffee spilled on my chest and his pricey suit. That was not a fun day.”
Why was he revealing this to Eunwoo? No one except the dance team, Myungjun and Sanha was ever supposed to be privy to that information. Yet he was laying his soul bare to this guy he just met. It was whispered into the space between them, so he was fairly confident Moonbin hadn’t heard him, but it made it seem more intimate because of that.
“So it was the universe that caused you to bump into me and fall over then? That makes sense, it falls in line with my curse too.”
Eunwoo was whispering now too, and he had somehow gotten even closer. He wasn’t blushing anymore, but his eyes were still wide- this time sparkling with interest. Jinwoo wondered what on earth this angel could have done to be cursed by the universe. Actually, come to think of it, he wasn’t sure what Eunwoo’s curse was either. He cautiously questioned him, not wanting to make him feel pressured to reveal it. “You have no idea how relieved I am to have someone to finally share this with! Ever since about eight years ago, whenever I go anywhere outside of my usual schedule I cause people injuries. I have had girls collapse after talking to me, and guys run into doors or walls when I smile at them. Once I took part in a talent show for charity, and the announcer fell off the stage after my performance!”
His jaw dropped and he nodded his head sympathetically. The universe could be cruel like that, poor Eunwoo probably felt so responsible for all those people. At least with Jinwoo, the only one who usually had to suffer was himself. After all this time though, he felt his heart lift at the thought of having someone to share his troubles with. Through the haze of his bliss, he could hear Myungun’s hysterical laughter, and another laugh he assumed must be Moonbin’s. Eunwoo obviously heard it too, he straightened up and turned around to the pair.
“Binnie, what are you laughing at? You’re the one who never believes me, and now that I finally found someone who understands you’re just being rude.”
This caused the other two to collapse on top of each other on the floor with laughter. Jinwoo had enough of the mocking, for now, he sprinted over and threw himself on top of his best friend, who started shrieking at him. The pillow he had been using to hide his laughter was now Jinwoo’s weapon of choice against him, scolding Myungjun for being so loud and inconsiderate. Moonbin was being caught in the fray as well, and when Myungjun hid behind his back, Jinwoo paused before swinging the pillow down. It wasn’t really his place to hit this guy he had just met, but he was still laughing at him and was even sheltering his traitorous best friend. The dilemma in his head was solved when Eunwoo launched himself at Moonbin, grabbing him around the middle and rolling away, leaving Jinwoo with a clear shot at Myungjun again. Their scuffling only lasted another minute or two, when the beaten pair of giggly students surrendered to their fate. Jinwoo sat back feeling a little out of breath, he was sure his face was red and hair messed up, but he couldn’t bring himself to care too much.
“Ok Binnie, it’s answer time. What is so funny about your best friend and a cute student from another school both being cursed by the universe, hmm? Jinwoo here believes me, so that makes him eligible to take best friend privileges away from you, you know?”
When Jinwoo looked around, he found Eunwoo pinning Moonbin to the ground and huffing slightly. He didn’t know what to react to first; the fact that he had just been called cute by an actual angel, or the suggested promotion to best friend rank. Before he could even process what was going on, Moonbin had flipped them over (he didn’t seem to be tired from their rolling about), and Myungjun had flattened him to the ground and was sitting on his back.
“Ooof - MJ get off me! This isn’t fair, you surrendered!”
His friend just gave his weird evil laugh and shared a look with Moonbin over his head. Then he felt the weight roll off him and he was being pulled up into a sitting position. Across from them, the two FTG students were sitting up too. Eunwoo still looked gorgeous, even with his hair a mess and a light sweat on his forehead. He was pouting though, which made him look even cuter than Jinwoo thought was possible.
“Minnie, my completely oblivious best friend since forever. How many times have I told you, people getting injured around you is not a curse from the universe, but rather one of your good-looks? And before you can pull the whole ‘it only happens when I stray from my schedule’ crap - that’s because people who see you regularly have become accustomed to your face, and when you’re on a schedule they can prepare themselves for when they see you. Poor Jinwoo here was obviously so shocked by your face he fell over, not a big deal.”
Jinwoo felt himself turn red, and he went to protest that wasn’t (entirely) true but Myungjun beat him to it, covering his mouth with a pillow and speaking up instead.
“I can assure you, that’s exactly what happened. Jinjin has a bad track record with handsome guys and making a fool of himself in front of them. And as for his ‘curse’ - it’s just his big clumsy feet that he always manages to trip over, and his lack of shame until someone points it out. The fact it only happens on field trips is both a coincidence and a testament to the fact that he is so used to one environment he makes a bigger fool of himself than usual when he’s outside of it.”
Myungjun probably would have had more to say on the matter, but a sharp elbow to his stomach shut him up effectively. It also caused him to drop the pillow from Jinwoo’s mouth which was a bonus. He was going to argue against what his friend had said, but Eunwoo started talking then and he felt his breath get knocked from his chest.
“I guess you guys are right, we’re not cursed by the universe. It’s just our own issues and paranoia.”
How could he change his mind so quickly? Jinwoo had finally thought he found someone he could share all this with and it was snatched away from him in the blink of an eye. The pricking feeling of tears started behind his eyes, he opened and shut his mouth a few times in shock and shame. He was about to hang his head when he caught Eunwoo’s quick wink in his direction. It was a playful wink, and although Jinwoo wasn’t the best at reading body language or gestures, he got the feeling that wink meant Eunwoo didn’t seriously believe what he was saying. So Jinwoo just nodded his head and played along, voicing his agreement to Eunwoo’s statement. Their respective best friends seemed to be satisfied, if not a little confused, by their compliance. All four students picked themselves up off the floor, and Myungjun and Moonbin took their turns using the bathroom to get ready for bed.
When they were all eventually settled in their bunks, it was very late into the night, so they decided to go straight to sleep and talk more in the morning. Jinwoo bade good night to his best friend in the bed above him, and to the two FTG students (who would hopefully become his friends too) in the bunk beds across the room. After a while, he could hear Myungjun’s gentle snores coming from the top bunk, but he himself couldn’t get to sleep. There were so many thoughts running through his head, mostly about Eunwoo and how he believed him about the curse. Just as Jinwoo was finally feeling sleepy, he felt his blanket lift and a weight join him on the mattress.
“Jinwoo, are you sleeping? I hope not because I have so much I want to talk about! I had to wait for Binnie to fall asleep though.”
His brain short-circuited a little, and he opened his eyes in the semi-darkness. The moonlight - which wasn’t fully blocked by their rooms curtains - illuminated Eunwoo’s silhouette beside him. The taller boy had crawled into his bunk in the dead of night because he wanted to talk to Jinwoo about their curses. He really did believe him, and while Jinwoo should have felt a little embarrassed by their proximity, all he felt was excitement. The pair talked for hours in hushed whispers, lying face-to-face in a bed not made for two. They each revealed all the times they had been struck down by their curses, and how many things they had tried to appease the universe and break their misfortunes. It was such a relief to share all the thoughts he had kept hidden from his other friends, with someone who really understood what he was going through. Jinwoo fell asleep to the gentle rhythm of Eunwoo’s breathing beside him, and his heart felt lighter than ever before.
(If their friends had screamed any louder the next morning when they woke up, it would have probably broken the windows. But Jinwoo couldn’t really blame them, he wanted to scream too when he found himself being cuddled by Eunwoo in the small bunk. Not that he would ever admit to it, he enjoyed the feeling of the taller students broad warm chest against his back, and his arms holding him around the middle. He certainly wouldn’t be opposed to it happening again.)

Dance, Dance, Dance
The moment Minho heard exactly what the casting directors were looking for, he pretty much wrote out any possibility of him getting landing the acting role his agent had put him up for. Choi Minho was an experienced actor. He’d done television dramas, independent films, plays. It was easy. Learn the script, stand on the mark, say the right lines with the right emotion. It was natural for him; what he excelled in. However, what they wanted, what was being asked of him now, was anything but natural.

This could be the role of a lifetime. This was set out to be a blockbuster, with Park Jinwoo, one of the most famous directors in South Korea. So much more famous than any director Minho had worked with in the past. When Minho had received the call from his agent, telling him he was being eyed for the lead role, he had almost fallen out of his seat.
Minho’s agent had asked him, “Would you be interested in the role?” and Minho was shocked that he even needed to be asked. The plot of the film sounded like exactly the kind of story he would love to be a part of. And… his career wasn’t suffering by any means, but, well, this definitely wouldn’t hurt his status. Of course he was interested.
But as Minho listened to the hesitant silence from the other end of the phone line, he knew he hadn’t received all of the information. Until he did.
“You have never had any professional dance training, have you?”
And there it was. The unmistakable feeling of Minho’s heart dropping, along with his bright smile. Well, that was that. He’d never danced in his life. The closest he’d got to dancing was playing soccer in high school. And he sincerely doubted they would accept that as dancing experience.
“No,” he replied dejectedly. “They need a dancer?”
“It plays a part in a key scene,” his agent confirmed. “ At least intermediate skills.”
Minho sighed, slumping down into his couch cushions. He had no rhythm whatsoever, and he knew it. How could he expect to be even in with a chance if he was missing a vital quality they needed for the part?
There was silence on the other end of the line, until… “They really want you, Minho. They’ve seen your performances in the past and think you’d be just what they’re looking for. The audition is on the 3rd of January, so not for a month.”
“I can’t learn to dance in a month.”
“Minho, if you’re really interested in this role, I can sort you out some lessons.” Minho closed his eyes; did his agent not here what he just said?
“I know the agent of one of the best dance teachers in the country. I took the liberty of checking his availability just in case, and he owes me a favour. If you’re willing to practice hard for this, we can make it work.”
That made Minho perk up in his seat. This sounded promising. Minho didn’t know anything about dance, and as such he had no idea who his agent could be speaking about, but it couldn’t hurt to attempt a lesson or two. “You think I can become good enough within four weeks?”
“That depends on how much work you put in,” came the reply. “The teacher’s name is Lee Taemin, he’s only twenty five but has already taught award-winning dancers. His prices aren’t cheap, but worth it if you really want this part. Do you?”
.
And that was how Minho ended up finding himself at the entrance of a dance studio two days later. He hadn’t yet spoken to Lee Taemin, much less met him. This agent had covered everything, from organising the lesson days to telling the dance teacher what Minho needed to learn. That was the good thing about having an agent without many clients, they often had time to focus in depth on Minho and Minho alone.
The studio was in the centre of Gangnam, not that far from Minho’s home making it rather easy to find. The building was rather small, only three floors, which Minho wasn’t expecting. After hearing how sought after and respected the dance teacher was, Minho had been thinking he’d be facing ten stories at least. Which didn’t actually make a whole lot of sense anyway, when he thought about it. If this Taemin was as great as everyone seemed to think, he could probably teach dance in a cardboard box.
Minho entered the building slowly, letting his eyes adjust to the artificial lighting after being out in the dark for the part half hour. Taemin’s schedule had been busy, apparently. He was training a group of teenage dancers for some province dance competition earlier in the day, so couldn’t begin Minho’s session until ten o’clock. Minho made a mental note to ask Taemin if he ever slept.
The foyer wasn’t anything extravagant, but was in good condition. It looked comfortable and welcoming, rather than an intimidating atmosphere Minho had been anticipating.
He walked up to the reception where a woman who looked to be in her late twenties was using a computer. Her bag and coat were laid across the other side of the desk, telling Minho that she’d probably be finishing her hours soon.
“Hello,” he said, catching her attention and ignoring the way her eyes widened slightly. “I’m here to see Lee Taemin.”
“Choi Minho,” the receptionist identified him quickly without even looking at the computer screen. She must have seen him before, then. Either that, or Taemin had let her know who to expect. Something in her tone told Minho it was the former.
Minho nodded and replied with a simple “yes.” Then, he was receiving instructions to head to the top floor, where Taemin would be waiting. He thanked the receptionist quickly and made his way to the lift. He’d just pressed the button to call the lift to his floor when he heard some steps behind him.
“Mr Choi?” Minho turned and came face to face with the receptionist.
“Before you head up, may I get your autograph please?” she asked hesitantly, holding out a pen and notebook. “I saw you in Medical Top Team… I’ve wanted to meet you ever since then.”
Minho smiled and took the pen and notebook, feeling the same gratefulness he always felt when he met a fan. It had been happening more often, especially over the last year, but it never stopped feeling special. After asking her name and signing the paper, he handed the objects back to her.
“You’ll be seeing me often,” Minho told her as the lift doors opened behind him and he stepped inside. “I’m taking classes here for a few weeks.”
He didn’t miss the gleeful expression of the receptionist as the doors closed in front of him, but he didn’t in any way focus on it. Minho had other things on his mind, like how the dance lessons would go. Like if he’d get the part he so badly wanted. Like if Lee Taemin was nice. That last point didn’t matter so much, in the big picture. As long as he could teach, Minho didn’t have to like him and he didn’t have to like Minho. But it definitely couldn’t hurt to get along with him. And Minho had heard from many people that he was a very easy person to get along with. It just depended on if Lee Taemin agreed.
It took less than five seconds for the lift to reach the third floor, and when Minho stepped out onto the floorboards he was met with a short corridor leading to the only room in sight. There was music with heavy bass pumping from inside the room; it was a wonder Minho hadn’t heard it downstairs.
The floor vibrated slightly as Minho walked along the hallway. The door had a glass window panel, allowing him to see a small portion of the room as he approached the entrance. Minho had only seen a few dance studios before, but this one was just like them. A large open space, sprung wooden flooring covering the area. There was a door on the wall to the left of room, which Minho guessed was where any props or equipment was kept. He guessed there would be a large mirror on one of the walls obstructed from his view, based on studios he’d seen in the past.
There didn’t seem to be anyone in the studio at the moment, which surprised Minho after hearing the loud music. He had expected to see Lee Taemin in there waiting for him, or maybe dancing. But despite the blaring beat, the whole place was completely still.
Minho was about to walk in to when, suddenly, the door at the back of the room opened and a man walked onto the floor. Wait, not just walked. Moonwalked.
From behind the closed door, Minho watched as the man, who he assumed to be the teacher he was meant to meet, danced around the studio, his body moving lithely and rhythmically to the music. He was wearing a black and white striped shirt, the pattern creating interesting angles across the man’s body as he moved to the music. Minho was almost hypnotised by it. He dragged his eyes away from focusing on the shirt, taking in the stranger’s bright hair. It was bleached blond, almost platinum, the lights shining down on him giving the illusion of an illuminated halo around his head. Minho hadn’t managed to get a proper look at the man’s face yet. Although the choreography seemed to include a lot of spinning, the stranger was mostly facing away from him. But Minho knew he was beautiful.
After a few moments, Minho remembered why he was there in the first place. “You’re meant to be going inside, idiot,” he told himself, and knocked, but to no avail. The loud music completely drowned out the sound of his knuckles on the door, leaving Minho still standing there with the man in the room none the wiser.
Just as Minho was about to suck it up and just open the door, the dancer span again, but this time stopped as he turned and met Minho’s eyes. Minho thought he saw him almost lose his balance in shock, but he might have just imagined it. He watched as the blond boy walked towards him, finally seeing his face properly for the first time. The stranger’s features were extremely cute, he had chubby cheeks which were tinted pink from exhilaration and plump lips, tugged into a small smile as he rushed over to turn the music off before walking over and opening the door, allowing Minho to enter.
“Hello,” he greeted Minho shyly, bowing. “I’m sorry, I didn’t notice you there. Please just enter freely next time,” he continued, smiling as he swept his blond fringe out of his crescent eyes. “I’m Lee Taemin.”
Ah, so this was the teacher. Well, from what Minho had seen, it looked like Taemin could teach him a lot.
“My name is Choi Minho,” Minho replied, removing his coat as Taemin gestured for him to leave it on a hook in the corner.
“I know,” Taemin answered, walking to the middle of the floor and turning to face Minho, the remote control for the stereo in his hand. “I’ve seen you on TV a couple of times.”
“You have?” Minho asked, placing his coat up on the hook.
“Yeah. I don’t really watch TV, but I’ve seen you. My brother sometimes stays over and he watched… I’m not really sure what it was,” Taemin trailed off. “But you were good,” he finished, looking up at Minho and smiling.
Minho laughed softly. This guy was adorable. “Thank you.”
“So,” Taemin began. “You need to learn dancing for a role, right? Hip hop?”
Minho nodded. “Yeah. And I… can’t dance. At all. I’ve never tried. But I really want this part, and I was told you were the best.”
A light blush spilled over Taemin’s cheeks. “I wouldn’t say the best.”
“No?” Minho smiled, walking out onto the floor. “How else would you get to be so respected at such a young age?” He didn’t actually know how old Taemin was, but he looked young. Definitely younger than Minho.
“I’m not that young,” Taemin shrugged. “I’m twenty-four.”
“I’m twenty-five,” Minho countered. “Anyway, I’m going to need the best teacher to have any slither of hope at succeeding in this audition. I have a month to be good enough.”
“A month is a long time. Long enough,” Taemin assured him, sitting down. “Now, before we start, you have to stretch.”
Minho nodded, joining Taemin on the floor. He exercised a lot, he knew that if he didn’t stretch before trying to dance his muscles wouldn’t thank him for it.
“I’ll guide you through it, but I’m sure you don’t need much help with this,” Taemin murmured. “Your body’s good.” He seemed to catch himself, stumbling over his words a little as he looked down at his feet, stretching his legs out in front of him. “I-I mean, you look like you work out.”
A soft chuckle escaped a now extremely flattered Minho, endeared by Taemin’s demeanour. “Yeah. I do.”
Taemin simply nodded, not looking at him.
Minho was led through the stretches, copying Taemin with ease. Taemin wasn’t actually as flexible as Minho expected, and more often than not Minho could lean further down, do a wider split, pull his legs up higher than his teacher. But he knew that incredible flexibility wasn’t necessary for some types of dancing, including the sort of dancing Taemin excelled in.
Soon, the pair were back on their feet.
“Before we get into the teaching, I want to see your natural rhythm,” Taemin said, his voice seeming deeper and more focused than it had previously. The guy was obviously very serious about his work, Minho thought.
“I don’t have any,” he answered truthfully. “That’s the problem.” He was already dreading this. He didn’t want to show anyone his pathetic lack of skills. Especially not someone so cute.
Taemin shook his head slightly. “That doesn’t matter. I need to see what I’m working with before we start properly.” He stood a few feet away from Minho. “Just freestyle, do what comes naturally.”
A moment later the music started. Minho was frozen for a second, trying to urge his body to begin moving. When he did finally start, he moved his limbs awkwardly, not quite sure what to do. He tried to imagine being alone at home, or in a club, or any place where he wouldn’t care about being watched and would let himself move freely.
He avoided looking at Taemin, although obviously he knew the other man was watching him. He had to watch him, that was the entire point of this.
Taemin stopped the music. It had probably been about one minute since Minho had started dancing, but to him it felt like an hour. He stood still, trying to suppress his embarrassed blush as he waited for the verdict.
“Well…” Taemin said, and Minho braced himself for the worst. “You’re not that terrible. We can work with it.”
Not a great outcome, but not horrific. Taemin had hope for him, rather than telling him to just leave right then. That was something.
Minho nodded, accepting Taemin’s words. “Okay.”
Taemin smiled encouragingly. “Most of today’s lesson will be without music. Since we’re only here for a couple of hours, I’m just going to help you practice a few easy moves and sort out a small routine which will give you a feel for what the hip hop dance style is like. Then we’ll dance to music at the end to bring it all together,” he told Minho. “We’ll continue doing that for the rest of the sessions this week. Then, from next week we can start moving on from the basics.”
That sounded good to Minho. He had another two sessions with Taemin that week, one every other day. Taemin seemed to have planned the days expertly, although, an expect is what he was. Maybe Minho could succeed in this, after all.
Within the next couple of hours, Taemin taught Minho some footwork and other body movements. Nothing too overwhelming, which Minho was thankful for because he felt like he was messing up even the simplest moves. The dancing felt simply unnatural to him and he was surprised that Taemin was being so patient. Minho would watch with awe as Taemin gracefully, perfectly showed him each step, and then would almost trip over his own feet as he tried to replicate. He’d always had good balance, but his body was really not on his side today. It was even worse that each movement was being watched closely by Taemin. The man was being lovely to him, patient and yet not patronising as he aided Minho through the dance. But just having Taemin’s eyes on him made Minho feel like he was doing it all wrong.
Nevertheless, the two hours passed without any major disasters, and soon Minho was putting on his coat ready to make the midnight journey home.
“You’ve done well today,” Taemin smiled as Minho buttoned up his jacket. “I know this is alien to you but you’ve already made progress. I’m sure in a few weeks you’ll be great.”
Minho met his eyes, chuckling softly as he made his way to the door. “I doubt that.” He paused to look at Taemin. “But, thank you for putting this effort into helping me learn. And I don’t want to speak too soon but if, by some miracle, I do end up getting the part in a month, I’ll know who to give the credit to.”
Taemin laughed. An adorable twinkle of a laugh. “I’ll try my best… By the way, should we swap numbers? Just in case we need to contact each other.” Taemin said, sounding a little shy. Maybe it was just Minho’s imagination.
It was a good idea. “Sure.”
After swapping numbers, Minho continued making his way to exit the room.
“See you on Wednesday, Minho.”
“See you on Wednesday,” Minho echoed, about to leave before he realised Taemin was making no effort to leave himself. “What time do you leave?”
Taemin blinked at him. “Why?”
Minho quickly realised how that question might have sounded a little… suggestive. “I-It’s just late. I would have thought you’d want to go home and sleep.”
“Oh,” Taemin answered. “I don’t know. I don’t really keep track of time. I try to get home no later than three, though.”
“I see,” Minho nodded, his brow furrowing a little. He didn’t like the thought of this sweet guy overworking himself, but he barely knew Taemin. He didn’t want to act as if he knew what was best for him. “… Sleep well, then. When you do.”
Taemin smiled at him. “You, too.”
Minho smiled in response, walking out of the room and making his way down the corridor to the elevator. He pressed the call button and waited, thinking back over the session. He had been so nervous about attending, and he had still definitely been nervous throughout the whole class. But, it was nowhere near as bad as he’d assumed it would be. Taemin was completely lovely. Despite feeling out of his depth the entire time, Minho really had not had a bad couple of hours. In fact, he sort of couldn’t wait to go back.
Minho got into the lift when the doors opened, catching sight of himself in the mirror on the wall. He looked slightly flustered from the exercise, and he was smiling. Had the smile even left his face since he’d said goodbye to Taemin?
The late night walk home was freezing cold but quite short, making Minho thankful he didn’t live far from the studio. He couldn’t imagine having to travel a long way in this December weather. Did Taemin live far away from the studio? Would it be a hassle for him to get home?
Minho stopped himself, shaking his head at his own thoughts. Taemin had most likely traveled to and from the studio hundreds of times in the cold. He’d be fine.
As Minho entered his home, he suddenly realised he hadn’t checked his phone since his journey to the dance lesson. Sure enough, when he took it out of his coat pocket and pressed the home button, he was met with notifications of three Kakao messages from his friend Kibum.
“Heard you’re up for that new Park Jinwoo movie, why didn’t you tell me?”
“Jinki just told me you’re having dance lessons hahahaha”
“Who’s your teacher? Are they cute?”
Minho rolled his eyes as he hung his coat up, going to sit down on the couch in his living room. He hadn’t intended on telling his friends about the audition, because he knew he wouldn’t get the part. But of course Jinki would know everything, they were under the same acting agent, and he was quite good friends with their agent at that. So, naturally Kibum would find out. He had only met Kibum about a year previous, after he had been a stylist for one of Minho’s dramas. They hadn’t gotten along well straight away, but had grown close surprisingly quickly. And Kibum was the curious type.
“Don’t think I’ll get the part,” Minho texted back as he put his feet up on the coffee table. “Yeah I am, it’s needed for the part. Teacher is Lee Taemin, you might know of him.”
The text back came almost immediately.
“Lee Taemin? The guy Jonghyun somehow always ends up mentioning on his radio show?”
Minho hadn’t remembered that. “Yeah, him.”
“Jonghyun showed me a video of him once. He’s an amazing dancer. And you didn’t answer my question.”
“What question?”
“Do you think he’s cute?”
“If you’ve seen him before why are you asking me if he’s cute?”
“I’ll say it again. Do you think he’s cute?”
Minho looked at the text for a moment, his face beginning to heat up. If he said yes he wouldn’t hear the end of it. But he was already cursed with the little ‘1’ that would inform Kibum he’d seen the message. So, he quickly typed out a reply and turned his phone off.
“I’m going to sleep now goodnight.”
.
When Wednesday evening rolled around, Minho refused to acknowledge just how much he was anticipating seeing Taemin again. His level of excitement didn’t make any sense, the pair weren’t even friends. They hadn’t spoken since Minho left the studio, apart from Taemin texting him to confirm that tonight’s lesson would take place from seven until nine. Minho had texted back a quick “okay”, resisting the urge to ask Taemin how he was or what he did that day.
Of course, Kibum had already picked up on the fact that Minho thought Taemin was adorable. They had met up for lunch the day before, much to Minho’s dread as he knew he’d be questioned about it after the complete shut-down of Kibum’s question on Monday. And sure enough, within the first two sentences he spoke about the lessons, Kibum smiled and said “When are you going to ask him out?”, which Minho had answered with a glare and outright denial that he thought of Taemin as anything more than a teacher. Especially after only one meeting.
One meeting that would soon turn into two. He was slightly early to the lesson, but he put that down to walking faster than usual to avoid the cold. Certainly not walking faster to see Taemin sooner. He entered the studio building and signed in at the reception, much to the receptionist’s glee. Then, Minho made his way up to the familiar corridor. This time, the blaring music from inside the studio was nonexistent. The whole place seemed pretty quiet. Minho looked through the glass panel of the door, peeking into the room to see if Taemin was in there.
And there he was, dressed in a black tank top and black pants, sitting in a plastic chair at the far end of the room, writing in a notebook which he was resting on his lap. Minho knocked quickly and opened the door, stepping in slowly as Taemin looked up through his blonde fringe in Minho’s direction.
“Hello,” Minho smiled, giving a short wave. “Sorry if you’re busy, I think I’m a few minutes early, but…”
Taemin shook his head quickly, smiling back. “That’s okay!” He stood up, putting his notebook down on the chair. “I was just sorting out my schedule for next week.”
Minho nodded, removing his coat and hanging it on the same hook he had used last lesson. “How are you?”
“I’m okay,” Taemin replied simply, walking to the middle of the floor. “But tired after teaching a bunch of preteen students,” he laughed softly. “You?”
“I’m okay, too,” Minho smiled, joining Taemin. Now he was closer to Taemin, he couldn’t help but notice the man’s bare arms. His muscles weren’t nearly as defined as Minho’s, but they were still visibly there. Minho wondered how someone could look so masculine and so delicate at the same time.
He forced himself to look at Taemin’s face rather than his body. “What are we doing today?”
“I’ll teach you some more basic moves to music, like last time, then maybe some free-styling at the end to see how you can apply what you’ve learned. Even if you need to learn a specific routine for the movie, it’s best to be skilled enough to dance without a routine structure. Especially when you’re up against other people for the part,” Taemin told him. “Sound okay?”
“Of course,” Minho replied.
“I’ve got a few more things to schedule,” Taemin started, his eyes drifting to his notebook for a second before looking back at Minho. “You were fine stretching yesterday, would you be okay to do it alone while I finish?”
Minho confirmed that would be fine, and began to go through his usual stretches as Taemin returned his attention to his notebook. Every once in a while, Minho would glance at Taemin in the mirror in front of him. Taemin’s eyes were on him more than a few times, not that Minho looked at him that often. Anyway, Taemin was probably just checking he was doing it right.
After a few minutes, Minho completed his stretches, standing up and looking at Taemin. The man had completely put his notebook down by that point, his eyes on Minho.
“Shall we start?” Minho asked. “Sorry if I kept you waiting.”
Taemin shook his head quickly, his cheeks looking a little pink. “No! It’s important to go at your own pace.” He stood up, making his way over to Minho. “Let’s start now.”
Much like the previous lesson, the two hours passed smoothly. Taemin taught as Minho followed his instructions, learning some new steps. However, unlike last time, this lesson had included a little more conversation between the two men.
“What made you get into dancing? If you don’t mind my asking,” Minho had questioned as he was practicing some new basic footwork Taemin had shown him. He hadn’t meant to delve into the other man’s life, but something about Taemin intrigued him. Minho assumed he must have started dancing very early in his life to be at the level he was still at this young age. Either that or he was ridiculously talented. Or both.
“I started dancing when I was in third grade,” Taemin replied. “My older brother always liked dancing and- move your foot a bit more like this… yeah that’s right- and I used to watch him and copy him sometimes. Then a few years later I found Michael Jackson dancing online and it made me want to get better.”
“Ah,” Minho processed what Taemin had told him. “So you’ve been dancing for sixteen years?”
“Round about,” Taemin shrugged. “I started teaching kids after school when I was seventeen years old, then worked my way up to teaching teenagers and so on.”
“And eventually, celebrities,” Minho chuckled.
Taemin smiled faintly. “I guess, yeah.”
Minho ended up being confronted about his past a bit later on, during a five minute break between practice. “So,” he said, sitting down on the same chair Minho had found him in. “You’ve heard about me. What about you? When did you start acting?”
Minho sat down where he was in the middle of the floor, facing Taemin. “When I was fifteen. My dad’s a football coach, and used to be a player, too. I originally wanted to be a player but he… sort of forbid me. Said he didn’t want that life for me. Later on, I realised I loved acting so I decided to pursue that instead. He wasn’t too happy about that, either. But…” Minho shrugged. “I got parts. On small things, then on bigger things. Casting directors said I ‘had the face’ to play different types of roles, whatever that means.”
Taemin nodded slowly. “What do your parents think now?”
“My mum was always supportive. And now, I think I’ve made dad proud, too. I hope I have.”
“I’m sure you have,” Taemin replied. “Hey, I don’t watch TV but I knew who you were. Through my brother, but still. I recognised you, rather than forgetting you,” he said, looking down and seeming to fidget with a thread on his pants.
“What made you remember me?” Minho asked out of curiosity.
Taemin didn’t answer for a moment. “It’s easy to remember good-looking actors, I suppose.”
Minho paused. Taemin thought he was good looking?
Taemin stood up then. “I think five minutes are up, shall we continue?”
Minho thought back to that moment as he traveled home. He’d been told he was good looking by countless people. Some people had implied he only got to where he was for his looks. Compliments on his physical appearance weren’t unusual to hear, but having it come from Taemin caused Minho to feel like his entire world had stopped turning for a moment.
Okay, Minho admitted to himself as he walked up his street. Maybe he had a little crush on Taemin. A tiny one. Nothing he couldn’t handle. And it wasn’t he had any proof Taemin felt the same way. Calling Minho good-looking meant nothing. Anyway, after the lessons were finished, he’d never see Taemin again. He only had to get through the next few weeks.
.
The day of the third lesson, Minho spent a few hours at the gym before arriving at reception, to see not only the receptionist at her desk, but two small dogs sitting on a chair beside her.
“Do they belong to you?” he asked the receptionist, whose name he learned was Seohee, smiling at the two loveable puppies.
“No,” she shook her head. “They belong to Mr. Lee. He had no one to look after them today so he left them here. But they’re very well behaved.”
Just then, Minho heard someone walk in behind him. “Oh, hi, Minho,” came the voice, with Minho quickly recognised to be Taemin’s. “I just went out to buy a drink.”
He turned around quickly, smiling at the man who was now sipping out of the disposable coffee cup he was holding with both hands. “Hi, Taemin.” Minho gestured to the dogs. “I just met your puppies. They’re adorable.” Almost as adorable as Taemin, but Minho didn’t say that.
Taemin smiled widely, walking towards Minho and standing beside him. “Their names are Adam and Eve. They’re both male. I’ve had them since I was young.” He reached out a hand, stroking the white puppy’s head. “Usually my parents take care of them during the day, but they’re busy.”
Minho grinned as he watched Taemin pet both of the animals; it was the cutest sight. He’d forgotten Seohee was even there.
“Anyway,” Taemin began, placing his hand back on the coffee cup. “Are you ready to begin the lesson?” he asked, smiling up at Minho.
Minho nodded. “Definitely.” Did that sound too eager?
If it did, it didn’t phase Taemin. “Good,” he replied, the smile still on his face. “Shall we go?”
Minho followed Taemin to the elevator, waiting as Taemin pressed the button to call the machine to the floor.
“Do you have any pets?” Taemin asked as they stepped inside, sipping his hot drink again.
“No,” Minho answered. “I’ve always wanted a dog, but my mother’s allergic so I couldn’t have one when I was young. And now, I don’t think I have time to look after one by myself. My brother lives abroad so he can’t help me.”
“Ah. Do you have anyone else who could help? A girlfriend…? … Boyfriend…?” Taemin replied, glancing up at Minho as he held the cup to his lips.
Minho would be lying if he said he wasn’t shocked that Taemin even suggested the idea of Minho having a boyfriend. Most people he met assumed he’d have a girlfriend, or at least was straight. In his experience, most people who considered that Minho might not be straight weren’t straight themselves. But he didn’t want to assume anything about Taemin, especially not when the way he’d been thinking about him wasn’t exactly platonic.
He shook his head, looking down at his feet. “No. Just me.”
“I get it,” Taemin said. “Dogs can be hard work, I’m lucky I have my family to help me with them when I’m too busy.”
“Yeah. Maybe I’ll get one in the future,” Minho shrugged.
When they arrived in the studio, Taemin took his coat off and set his drink down, telling Minho he was going to keep working with him in developing Minho’s basic moves. Seeing as it was going to be their last lesson before they moved onto more complicated dancing, Taemin wanted to make sure Minho was doing well enough to progress forward.
When Taemin told Minho to start stretching, however, Minho shook his head. “I just came from the gym,” he told him. “My muscles are already warmed up.”
“Ah, are you sure?” Taemin asked. “Did you work out your arm muscles? What I’m going to teach today involves a lot of use of your arms.”
Minho chuckled softly, finding it cute how thorough Taemin was being. “Yeah, my arms are fine. My arms can handle anything you throw at them.” Wasn’t it obvious he worked out his arms? He didn’t think it was self centred to realise that his own muscles were pretty obvious.
It was as if Taemin had read his mind. “Looks can be deceiving,” he said, a hint of teasing in his tone. “You’re muscles are bigger than mine, but it doesn’t mean you’re stronger than me.”
Minho raised an eyebrow at the other man. He did think Taemin was strong, but stronger than him? He doubted it, especially after seeing Taemin’s muscle mass compared to his. But he could think of a way to settle it. “Really? Okay, how about, the first person to do thirty push ups wins?”
Taemin chuckled, kneeling down on the floor. “I didn’t know you were so competitive, but okay.”
Five seconds later, the pair had started their competition.
“One, two, three, four,” Minho counted out loud as he raced through the push ups, listening out for Taemin’s counting. He wasn’t doing so bad, only a second or so behind Minho.
Minho reached his thirtieth push up just as Taemin reached his twenty-sixth. He could have stopped then, but he didn’t, he counted his thirty-first push up, thirty-second… he wasn’t planning on showing off, but something made him want to. To impress Taemin? Probably.
“Hey, you already reached thirty, stop!” Taemin laughed, breathless as he completed his final push up, collapsing down onto the floor.
Minho ignored his words, shooting Taemin a quick grin as he completed his thirty-fifth push up. He almost stopped in his tracks when he saw Taemin pout, almost overwhelmed by how cute Taemin was.
But he kept going, not stopping when the other man stood up, walking over to him.
“Show off,” Taemin whined, sounding like he was trying to hold in a laugh. “Stop, this isn’t fair.”
Minho simply snickered. He’d lost count of the push ups now, but that didn’t mean he would stop.
When, all of a sudden he felt a heavy weight on his back. Was Taemin…?
“I’m going to sit on you until you stop,” Taemin said playfully, adjusting himself on Minho’s back as if he wanted to put his entire body weight on him.
Minho laughed out of surprise, and because of the fact that Taemin chose this way to try to make him stop. He could hear Taemin laughing on top of him, trying to stay balanced as Minho moved his body.
He was strong enough to complete a few more with Taemin on top of him, but he didn’t have super powers. He quickly became tired and his arms became weak, and he collapsed a few seconds later, Taemin falling onto the floor next to him.
Minho stared up at the ceiling as the two lay there laughing, before turning his head to look at Taemin. The blond was also looking at the ceiling, his body shaking as he laughed. Taemin’s sparkling eyes were crescents and his cheeks were pink as his hair fanned out underneath him like an exquisite spread of soft light, a bright smile danced on his lips, drawing Minho’s attention to Taemin’s unusual but fascinating rectangular philtrum. He was the purest form of beauty Minho had ever seen.
Looking away from Taemin felt like a chore, so he didn’t. Not even when Taemin met his eyes. Instead, Minho just smiled at him, asking “are you okay?”
Taemin nodded, grinning as he sat up. “Yeah. You? I’d say I’m sorry, but…” he laughed again.
Minho stood up, smiling as he held out a hand.
Taemin looked at his hand for a second before smiling back, grabbing Minho’s hand and letting Minho help him up.
Their hands fit together well, Minho thought as he let go of Taemin. His skin seemed to tingle slightly where he had lost the touch, but that must have been his imagination.
They met each other’s eyes for a moment, before Minho remembered what they had been talking about. “Doesn’t matter if you’re not sorry. I won, anyway.”
Taemin scoffed, running a hand through his hair. “You need to respect me. You may be older, but I’m the senior.” His words could have been serious, but his voice sounded playful, telling Minho that Taemin wasn’t in any way angry with him.
“Sorry, Mr. Lee,” Minho teased in a sing-song voice, watching Taemin.
“Yes, thank you, call me that,” Taemin chuckled. “Actually, it makes me sound old. Don’t call me that.”
Something about Taemin just made Minho want to tease him even more. “Okay, Mr. Lee.”
“Hey! I’ll cancel the rest of your lessons right now and charge you triple for the ones you’ve had,” Taemin threatened, his voice light but a pout still visible on his lips.
Minho smiled, resisting the urge to pinch his cute cheeks. “Alright, alright.”
“Good,” Taemin said, the pout slowly leaving his face. “Now, let’s get on with it, or I’ll charge you extra for overtime.”
A couple of hours later, Minho was putting on his coat, getting ready to leave. Despite the lesson being hard work, he’d had a great time with Taemin. Despite only meeting three times, Minho felt comfortable around him, and judging from today, Taemin felt the same way. It made Minho happy to think about, but it didn’t do anything to dampen the crush he had on the blond. A fact that Kibum would probably pick up on when they met on Monday for Minho’s birthday.
Oh, wait. He was meant to have a lesson with Taemin on Monday.
Minho looked over at Taemin, to see the man focused on writing in his notebook. “Taemin.”
Taemin looked up at him curiously. “Yeah?”
“I’m sorry, I forgot to say. It’s my twenty-sixth birthday on Monday… I have plans with my friends so I won’t make it to that lesson.”
“Oh,” Taemin said, his face falling slightly as he looked back down at his writing. “That’s okay… I’ll just see you for your next lesson on Wednesday.”
Minho buttoned up his coat, keeping his eyes on Taemin. The guy looked pretty put out. Was he angry with Minho for not telling him sooner? Did this mess up his schedule in any way?
“Yeah. I’m sorry if this causes problems for you. I’ll try to practice more, so I don’t forget the moves.”
Taemin nodded slowly, biting his lip.
“I’ll… I’ll see you on Wednesday, then,” Minho said hesitantly, making his way to the door.
Taemin suddenly looked at him. “Minho?”
Minho paused, meeting his eyes. “Yeah?”
“Do…” Taemin began. “I mean… you’ve been doing really well. You’ve been a great student so far…”
Minho waited. What was Taemin trying to say? Was he about to tell Minho he didn’t want to teach him anymore?
“Since we won’t see each other on Monday… I have some free time on Tuesday, if that’s okay,” Taemin said, fidgeting with the pen in his hand. “I mean, I would like to meet up with you outside of the studio.”
Minho’s eyes widened slightly. Was this really happening?
“Maybe, I don’t know, help celebrate your birthday with you. If you want. A day late, but I… want to thank you for working so hard.” Taemin kept his eyes away from Minho, focused solely on his notebook, as if he was afraid to be looking at Minho when Minho answered his request.
Minho himself, could have jumped up and down with glee. Taemin wanted to see him outside of their lessons? To spend time with him properly? To celebrate his birthday with him? He cared that much?
He almost forgot to actually answer. “That would be great,” he replied, trying not to grin.
Taemin’s head shot up to look at him. “Really?”
“Yeah,” Minho answered, trying to ignore his heart pounding in his chest. “What time and where?”
“Ah, um,” Taemin paused for a moment. “Eight? We can meet outside this building and go somewhere from there.”
“Okay, I’ll see you then,” Minho said, smiling at Taemin as he exited the room. He could no longer hide his grin as he made his way to the elevator. Taemin had asked to hang out with him. For his birthday. In the evening. Taemin has asked him out.
He shook his head at himself. “Don’t turn this into something it isn’t,” he told himself. “It’s not a date. He never said date. He probably doesn’t like you like that. It’s not a date.”
.
“It’s a date,” Kibum said to him three days later. Minho was sitting in a bar booth with Kibum, Jinki and Jonghyun, having just downed more shots than he should have. He wasn’t even paying for them, his friends continued to thrust them in front of him as a ‘birthday present’. He wasn’t aware birthday presents were meant to make you black out. But he had never been a lightweight. He could handle his alcohol. He’d be fine, he wasn’t even that drunk.
“He never said date,” Minho replied, shaking his head. Did he just slur his words? He can’t have.
“It’s a date,” Kibum repeated.
Jonghyun nodded in agreement from next to Kibum. “Of course it is. He asked to meet you at eight in the evening, he hasn’t named a place you’ll be going to probably because he hasn’t decided, which means the decision is important to him. It’s a date.”
“You really think so?” Minho murmured, a small smile playing on his lips as he turned a shot glass around in his hands. What Jonghyun had said did make sense. It was a far cry from his first reaction to finding out Minho was not only being taught by Taemin, but meeting him outside of class. As Kibum had reminded Minho in his texts a few days earlier, Jonghyun was a huge fan of the guy. Had been for ages. Which definitely had come across in his excited rambling at the start of the night about Minho “dating Lee fucking Taemin, oh my God.” Actually, somehow, the alcohol had mellowed him.
“I hope it is a date,” Minho continued. “He messaged me earlier, wishing me a happy birthday.” He retrieved his phone from his pocket, pulling up the text.
“This is what he said - ‘Happy birthday Minho, have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow.’ And then he put loads of cute smile emojis. It’s adorable. And seriously, you guys should see him dancing. He’s amazing. He has such a sweet smile but when he dances his face gets all serious and-”
“Minho, Taemin is one of the most famous dancers in the country, remember?” Jinki smiled. “We’ve all seen him.”
Oh, yeah. Minho sometimes forgot it wasn’t just him who had witnessed Taemin’s beauty. Thousands of people had. Millions. Taemin could have anyone he wanted.
“He asked me if I had a boyfriend,” Minho recalled. “Or a girlfriend, but he said boyfriend, too.”
“So he knows you’re into guys?” Jinki asked.
Minho shook his head, then shrugged. “I dunno. No. I don’t know how he would. He just asked.”
“Well, that settles it,” Jonghyun said. “Should we start getting the wedding cake ready now or later?”
Minho scoffed. “I don’t know if he’s even single. He might have a boyfriend. He might have a girlfriend. He might have both. He could have anyone.” He didn’t think he’d whined, but Kibum’s reaction told him he probably had.
“Right, so you find out when you go on your date tomorrow,” he said. “But this is your birthday, and you’re here with us, so there’s no point in getting wasted just to start whining about your dance teacher. Let’s stop moping about and start having fun.”
Minho only focused on one sentence of Kibum’s speech. “I’m not wasted,” he objected. “I don’t let myself lose to alcohol.”
That line caused a burst of laughter from Jonghyun, surprising Jinki and causing him to knock his drink all over the table, and the topic of Taemin was promptly forgotten.
.
At eight o’clock on the dot the next evening, Minho arrived outside the studio building ready for his… outing with Taemin. It wasn’t a date. Despite what his friends continued to tell him.
“Minho!” Taemin’s voice came from behind him, and he turned to see Taemin walking up the street towards him. Minho had expected Taemin to come out of the building. Maybe he hadn’t been teaching.
The blond was wearing black puffy coat, a thick grey scarf wrapped around his neck and partially covering the lower half of his face. He looked freezing, but so cute.
“Hi,” Minho smiled at Taemin as he approached, shoving his hands in his pockets to stop the bitter air getting to them. “Cold?”
Taemin chuckled softly, stopping in front of him. “Well, it is mid-December.”
“Damn, I never realised,” Minho replied with a hint of sarcasm, laughing as he quickly decided to find out the answer to the question he’d been wondering all day - “Where are we going?”
“Ah, I was thinking we could eat somewhere, and maybe go to a karaoke bar? If you want,” Taemin said, beginning to walk. “I’m not used to planning… things like this,” he continued as Minho fell into step beside him.
“That sounds good,” Minho nodded. He was hungry, and he always enjoyed karaoke. He didn’t think he was an amazing singer, but it was fun. However, he wondered what Taemin had meant by ‘things like this’. What was ‘this’?
“So,” Taemin started as they walked down the street. “How was your birthday?”
“Oh, it was good, thanks,” Minho replied. I just met up with some friends.” He had also talked to them about Taemin for a lot longer than he should have, but Taemin didn’t need to know that. “What did you do yesterday?”
“Well, I taught in the morning, then the building’s heating started messing up so I had to cancel my afternoon classes. So, I spent the rest of the day with my dogs,” Taemin explained, looking down as he walked.
“That’s nice,” Minho murmured. “Are your dogs with your parents now?”
Taemin shook his head. “My brother. His girlfriend is at his place right now, and she wanted to meet them. Which worked out well for me,” he said, and Minho could hear a soft smile in his tone.
“Well, your puppies are adorable. I’m flattered that you’d rather spend time with me than them,” Minho told him lightly. It was the truth, if he owned Adam and Eve he’d be with them twenty four seven.
Taemin was quiet for a second. “I enjoy spending time with you,” he said lightly. “You’re easy to talk to. A-and a great student, like I said.”
Minho smiled, a warm blush making it’s way up his cheeks. “Thank you. You’re a great teacher.”
“Thank you.”
Fifteen minutes later, the pair had spotted somewhere to eat. Along the walk the two men had bonded over their love of Japanese food, so Taemin had suggested they find a Japanese restaurant. The place they found wasn’t too fancy, nor shabby, it was comfortable and welcoming, somewhere casual that Minho thought looked very appealing.
They spent their time in the restaurant eating, talking, and laughing. Minho told Taemin more about his previous interest of being a soccer player, while Taemin told Minho that before his interest in dancing, he had wanted to become a pilot or a police officer. Minho couldn’t really imagine Taemin as either of those things, and found it amusing envisioning Taemin in a police uniform. He’d voiced those thoughts to Taemin, causing the other man to sulk playfully until Minho cheered him up by offering Taemin some of his own food.
Minho didn’t remember how it had come up, something to do with a conversation about high school, but he had ended up letting it slip to Taemin that he was gay and had known since he was fourteen. Taemin listened, obviously accepting what Minho was telling him, and probably confirming any suspicion Taemin might have had. But Taemin didn’t say anything about his own sexuality. That had crushed Minho, just slightly. Was this really not a date? Was Taemin straight? He thought it awkward to ask, so he moved on with the conversation.
Taemin insisted on paying for the meal, since it was meant to be Minho’s birthday treat. Minho felt slightly bad, seeing as he was older than Taemin, but after a tiny squabble about it he gave in. Then, the two were back on the street, making their way to the karaoke bar Taemin had pointed out on the way to the restaurant.
Minho didn’t know why he wasn’t expecting it, but Taemin really was an amazing singer. The blond chose a song that Minho didn’t recognise, but he liked it. Although, Taemin’s singing could probably make Minho like any song.
He sat there on the couch as Taemin sang, blown over by the quality of the younger man’s voice. His voice was like rich chocolate and sweet cotton candy and smooth caramel all at once, and Minho was in so deep with this terribly wonderful boy and he didn’t know how to get out.
Taemin scored one hundred on the machine, not shocking Minho at all. By comparison, Minho thought as he started to sing, he was performing poorly. He was often told his voice didn’t suit his looks. His voice was soft and calm, which others didn’t expect, and Minho didn’t think there was any real power behind his tone. He was just average.
However, when he finished and finally looked at Taemin, he was met with a wide grin.
“Your voice is beautiful,” Taemin told him, his voice full of truth, catching Minho so off guard that he almost forgot to check his score. He turned back, seeing a ‘90’ on the screen. Not bad at all. Not as good as Taemin, but he would have had to insist the machine was broken if that were the case.
However, Taemin scoffed at the screen as Minho went to sit back down next to him. “Bullshit. You deserve the top score, your voice is lovely.”
Minho looked at Taemin like he had two heads. “You think I’m better than you?”
Taemin nodded. “You could be a professional singer.”
“Well, so could you,” Minho countered.
Taemin relaxed back on the couch, laying his head dangerously close to Minho’s shoulder. “I have thought about it, actually. Maybe one day.”
“You’d be great,” Minho said, earning a small hum from the other man. Minho looked at the blond and was startled to see how close Taemin’s face was to his own. If Minho leaned in a few inches, he could kiss him.
But he couldn’t bring himself to. He would be risking everything. Not only Taemin’s stance as his dance teacher, but his friendship. He didn’t want to do anything that could see him lose Taemin completely.
So, he and Taemin sat there quietly in a comfortable silence, until Taemin got up, challenging him to a duet.
Taemin ended up walking Minho home. Minho protested at first, he didn’t want Taemin out in the cold longer than he needed to be. But Taemin once again insisted, and once again under the whole “it’s for your birthday!” thing. And once again, Minho gave in, because he wasn’t going to pass up spending more time with the blond.
They stopped outside his apartment block, and Minho turned to Taemin. “Are you sure you can get home okay? How far away do you live?”
Taemin laughed. “Yes, Minho, I’ll be fine. I’m only about ten minutes away.”
“Well…” Minho began, looking at the other man. “Thank you for tonight. I had a great time, it was a lovely present.”
Taemin smiled at him. “You’re welcome. I had a really nice time, too.”
There was a few seconds of silence, the two men looking into each other’s eyes. Then, just as Minho was about to say fuck it and kiss him, Taemin looked down.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, for your lesson,” he said, glancing up at Minho.
Oh, okay. Minho nodded, clearing his throat slightly. “Yeah. See you tomorrow,” he replied, giving one last smile before turning, walking towards his apartment building and not letting himself look back.
.
Over the next week, Minho attended three more lessons. Wednesday, Friday, Monday. They had all gone well. Minho was learning the movies he needed to and had moved on from the basics. Now, Taemin was teaching him more complex dancing, as well as working on the special routine Minho had been asked to learn for the audition.
As for their friendship, relationship, whatever it was, not much had changed since Minho’s birthday outing. Outing, because he now refused to call it a date. Taemin hadn’t asked him out again and Minho wasn’t sure why. Was Taemin aware that Minho liked him and didn’t want to lead him on? Did he just not want to see Minho outside of class?
He would have thought it’d be the latter, if it weren’t for the way Taemin acted around him during the lessons. There would be jokes, playful teasing, casual touches as he taught Minho a move. Nothing explicitly romantic or sexual, but enough for Minho to be utterly confused. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop Minho from anticipating every lesson, looking forward to seeing Taemin more and more. Not only that, but his dancing had significantly improved, even by his own standards. He might not be amazing, but he felt like he finally had rhythm, and was picking up new moves easily.
The following lesson was where it went wrong. Taemin had been working with Minho on a particularly difficult move, one of the hardest in the routine. As Christmas was just over a week away with the holiday period lasting up until Minho’s audition, their lessons would end soon. Therefore, Taemin wanted Minho to be comfortable with trying the hard moves now, so he would be able to practice alone in the week leading up to the audition. Taemin had told Minho he would be fine. He’d covered the basics, the majority of the dance.
Minho didn’t know what he did wrong. Maybe held his body at the wrong angle, maybe spun too quickly or just landed weirdly. But suddenly he collapsed as a sharp pain stung through his ankle.
“Fuck!” Taemin rushed to him quickly, kneeling down next to Minho, his eyes wide with shock and fear. “Are you okay?”
Minho nodded, gritting his teeth as he tried to sit up. Taemin held his arm as support, and Minho could feel the man’s eyes on him as Minho looked at the source of the pain.
There wasn’t anything visibly wrong with his ankle, it wasn’t twisted obscenely or anything. It just fucking hurt.
“God, Minho, I’m so sorry,” Taemin panicked. “Can you move your leg?”
Minho tried, stopping immediately as agony shot through his leg. But he played it off, not wanting to worry Taemin. The man had worked so hard, Minho wasn’t about to make him think it had all been for nothing.
“I’ll be fine,” he mumbled, trying to convince himself.
Taemin shook his head, almost looking like he was about to cry. It was the worst sight Minho had ever seen.
“Just… help me up, I’ll be okay if I walk on it,” he told Taemin.
Taemin didn’t look convinced but helped Minho up, holding onto him tightly. It took a while, but eventually Minho was upright. He stood with his injured leg off the ground, slightly afraid to put weight on it. But Taemin was looking up at him and he looked so scared and Minho needed that to stop.
“Ah-!” he gasped in pain as his foot touched the ground, and he felt utterly betrayed by the universe. Although, it was his own damn fault.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry, you weren’t ready for such a complex move, I shouldn’t have rushed you,” Taemin was saying, but Minho refused to let him take the blame.
“Tae, it’s my fault. I didn’t listen well enough to your instructions,” Minho insisted. “But I’ll be okay. This’ll heal itself.”
Taemin shook his head. “We’re going to the hospital. We need to find out if it’s a small sprain, or a break. We’re going now.”
And that’s how Minho and Taemin ended up in a hospital on a Wednesday night. Luckily, the ER wasn’t too busy, so Minho was seen within quite a short while. After some thorough examinations, the doctor had confirmed that Minho’s ankle was sprained. Minho was infinitely thankful it wasn’t a break, but…
“You won’t be well enough to practice,” Taemin said to him on the way out, walking alongside Minho and his crutches. “By the time your ankle is better, there will only be a few days until the audition.”
“It’s okay,” Minho said quietly. “Once I’m better, I’ll be practicing all the time. You’ve taught me everything, right? Now I just need to apply it.”
“But…” Taemin trailed off, and he looked heartbroken. “You’ve been working so hard… I fucking made you do something you weren’t ready for… I feel like I’ve ruined it.”
Minho stopped, grabbing Taemin’s hand to make the man face him. “Ruined it? Taemin, I wouldn’t be dancing at all if it weren’t for you. You’ve put so much effort into helping me learn, and it’s really worked. I may be in with less of a chance of landing the part now than I was this morning, but without you I wouldn’t have any chance at all. You… you’ve helped me in more ways than you could know.”
Suddenly, arms were around Minho and a head was against his chest. Taemin was hugging him tightly, nuzzling his face into Minho’s coat. Minho wrapped an arm around Taemin slowly, the hug suffering from the balance he needed to keep on his other crutch. But still, it was the most amazing hug Minho had ever had, and he hoped Taemin couldn’t feel his pounding heart.
They stayed like that for God knows how long, before Taemin pulled away and looked up at him. “Thank you for not blaming me.”
Minho smiled down at him. “Worried about me suing you?” he teased.
“You wouldn’t dare,” Taemin grinned, hitting Minho’s arm playfully.
“I might, now that you’re assaulting me,” Minho replied, smirking at the blond.
Taemin laughed, running his hand down Minho’s arm. “Whatever,” he said, beginning to walk again. “Come on, I’ll take you home.”
.
After that, Minho didn’t see Taemin for a long time. They spoke on the phone often, and texted even more often, but they hadn’t been physically face to face ever since Minho’s accident two weeks previous.
It was now December 30th, four days before the audition. Minho’s ankle was just about better. Better enough for him to dance. So, today would be his first day practicing at home. It wasn’t the best environment, but it was all he could do. The dance studio was closed for the holiday season, with Taemin at home spending time with his family. That left Minho to focus on practicing. He’d be spending New Year’s Eve with his friends the following day. He wished he could spend it with Taemin, but was also glad he wasn’t. It would be utterly painful being with him for the countdown into the new year. Minho had already experienced wanting to kiss Taemin. He was experiencing it every day. So to be in that moment with him, the moment where you’re meant to kiss someone, and have nothing happen, would destroy him. Minho… still didn’t even know if Taemin was single. For all he knew, Taemin might be kissing someone else when the clock struck twelve.
He couldn’t help but think those same thoughts the following night. He was sitting with his friends in Jonghyun’s living room, surrounded by other acquaintances and some people he’d never seen before. He was having a great time, all things considered. He and his friends had been laughing, Minho had shown them some of his new dance skills (delicately, so as not to fuck up his ankle again). Now it was five minutes until the new year. The countdown was on the television and there was noise surrounding him, from music and people and the sound of someone knocking over a drink every half an hour or so earning a groan from Jonghyun. Minho hoped Taemin was having a good night.
Another few minutes, and the countdown was among them.
Five…
Four…
Three…
Two…
One…
“Happy new year!” everyone cheered as fireworks started sounding from the distance. Jonghyun, Minho and Jinki hugged as Kibum kissed his model boyfriend who Minho had only met a few times before. The whole room was loud and alive, but Minho didn’t feel completely right. He needed to wish a happy new year to someone else.
He pulled out his phone and opened up his text thread with Taemin, typing out a message before he could stop himself.
“Happy new year, Taemin. Have a great night and I hope this coming year is amazing for you, thank you for making these last few weeks so amazing for me”
Minho also added a smiley emoji or two, or five, carefully avoiding any emojis including hearts. That would be too much.
He sent the message and was about to lock his phone, when a message came through straight under his. Taemin must have sent him a message at the same time Minho sent his.
“happy new year!! ^_^ i hope youre feeling bettr, good luck wit the practicng. have the best year ever, you’re amazing g and you deserve it”
Minho chuckled softly at the slightly misspelt writing. Taemin must have been drinking. After the writing, there was a selection of emojis, including the angel emoji, the smiley blushing emoji and a tongue-out emoji. What really caught Minho’s eye was the last emoji. The winking face with puckered lips and a small heart.
Everyone knew that was a kissing emoji. There’s no way Taemin wouldn’t know. Did Taemin mean to send that or in his obviously drunken state did he select the wrong one?
Before he could think about it any more, another text came through.
“thank you!! we sent tht at the same time haha are you hving a good night?”
“Yeah I’m having fun. Are you?”
“yeah. jus with my famly but its nice.  miss you ^_^ miss yor face”
Minho blushed intensely as he read the texts. Okay… that was new.
“Miss you too. How drunk are you?”
“im not!!  mybe only a bit”
“What are you grinning at?” Jonghyun asked, just barely catching Minho’s attention.
“Nothing,” Minho mumbled, trying to hide his smile as he kept his eyes on his phone, beginning to type out a reply to Taemin.
Jonghyun said something, but Minho wasn’t paying enough attention to him to catch it.
“Be careful. Have a good night, Tae”
“you too!! se you soon”
.
Minho spent most of the next day practicing for his audition, working on the lines for a few hours, then switching to the dancing. He kept re-reading the texts he’d received from drunk Taemin. Was how he’d acted in the texts accurate to what he felt about Minho? He’d said he’d said he was amazing, he’d said he missed him, he’d said he’d missed his face. Did he mean that platonically? Honestly, Minho was starting to doubt it. But he couldn’t be sure.
Minho was just doing another run-through of his character’s lines, when his phone began to ring. Taemin’s name flashed up on the screen, and Minho quickly answered.
“Hello?”
“Hi, Minho. I… I just-“
Minho frowned. “What?”
“I want to apologise for the texts I sent last night. I just saw them. I said I wasn’t drunk but I was and…”
Minho swallowed. “It’s okay, you didn’t… say anything wrong.”
“Okay.”
“…What part of the texts are you apologising for?”
There was silence on the other end of the line. “I have to go. But, make sure to tell me how the audition goes, okay?”
“Of course,” Minho said slowly. Something wasn’t right. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” came Taemin’s voice. “I’m fine. Good luck.”
“Thank you, Taemin,” Minho replied hesitantly. “Bye.”
“Bye.”
Then the line went dead. What was going on? Was Taemin freaked out by him for some reason? Did he think Minho got the wrong idea from the texts Taemin had sent last night? He sounded like he was trying to avoid Minho.
It doesn’t matter right now, Minho told himself. His audition was so soon. What he’d been working up to for the past month. He couldn’t let his feelings for Taemin get in the way of that.
So he put his phone down, and started practicing again.
.
Minho was standing outside the dance studio. He’d done it. The audition was over. Now he just had to tell Taemin the outcome. He’d thought about just calling him, but it didn’t feel right. He needed to see him. He just hoped Taemin wasn’t teaching a class.
Actually, Taemin was dancing alone without music as Minho peeked into the room from the hallway. He looked lost in his thoughts, and Minho almost felt guilty disturbing him. Especially as Taemin didn’t know he was coming.
He opened the door slowly, and Taemin’s head turned quickly to look at him.
“Minho! What are you doing here?” he said, rushing up to Minho.
“I wanted to see you, rather than just tell you how the audition went,” Minho said truthfully.
Taemin stood back as Minho walked into the room properly. “So? How did it go? Did you get it?”
“Well, they said…” Minho hesitated for a second. “They said I’m perfect for it. I got the part!”
Taemin’s face broke out into a grin and he threw his arms around Minho’s neck, laughing as he rested his head on Minho’s shoulder. “Congratulations! You did it!”
“We did it,” Minho grinned. “You know I couldn’t have done it without you, Tae.”
The blond pulled back to look at Minho, his arms stationary around him as he watched him with a bright smile.
“I owe you so much,” Minho continued, running his gaze over Taemin’s face. “You’ve put so much effort into helping me, you’ve been so incredible and-”
Minho was cut off by Taemin’s lips pressing against his own, and his heart almost jumped out of his body. Taemin kissed him hard, his arms tightening around Minho’s neck as Minho circled his arms around the blond’s waist. Minho felt like he was about to collapse, and this time not because of a sprained ankle. Finally. He was finally kissing Taemin. Taemin had kissed him.
Eventually, the two separated, Taemin smiling bashfully at Minho.
Minho’s mind was blank. He knew he had a stupid grin on his face but he didn’t know what to say, except… “I thought you didn’t like me.”
Taemin let out a tiny laugh. “I tried not to,” he said, pecking Minho’s lips again.
“Why?” Minho asked, running his hand over Taemin’s back gently.
Taemin shrugged. “I’ve always been worried about being famous and… you know. I was scared. And confused. Especially after the date. I wanted to figure out my feelings but… and after those texts…” he chuckled, shaking his head.
Minho’s focus was on one thing in particular. “So that was a date?”
Taemin grinned. “Yes, it was. Even if I wasn’t sure myself at the time.”
Well, Minho would have to tell his friends they were right.
“But, seeing you here just now…” Taemin shook his head. “I had to kiss you. Think of it as a congratulatory gift.”
Minho raised his eyebrows. “So if I hadn’t got the part…”
“You wouldn’t have got a kiss,” Taemin nodded, smirking.
“Well, it’s lucky I did, then, isn’t it?” Minho chuckled, leaning in.
“Mm…” Taemin kissed him again, smiling against Minho’s lips. Minho melted into it, holding Taemin close as he relished the feeling.
He met Taemin’s eyes after they broke the kiss. “So…”
“Yeah?”
“You did miss my face?”
“Get out.”

“Can I get a mocha frappucino, please, with an extra shot of espresso?”
I knew this single cup of coffee would definitely make me stay up till at least two in morning, but another minute working would most likely send me into a slumber deeper than Snow White’s. Hopefully this new café would be worth losing work time. I didn’t really like change, but who would when you had just moved back to Seoul after six years of failing your career America?
“What size would you like that?” The waitress lowered her black visor, punching in my order.
“Small will be fine, thank you.” I kept in mind that I should value my sleep, even if I still had a few more hours of work to do.
She brought her eyes up to mine. “And what is your name?”
“Y/N.”
“That will be ₩17,000.”
My jaw dropped at the number. “You do know I ordered a small, right?”
“Yes, that would make your mocha frappucino with an extra shot of espresso be a total of ₩17,000.” Her fake smile only shone brighter.
“Why would a small coffee be ₩17,000? Is it poured from the gods? Planted on ancient religious soil? Filtered through specks of gold?”
“Nope, but we can assure you that we bring the highest quality ingredients into every cup we brew.” Her eyes remained bland while attempting to bring excitement in her smile.
I looked down at the money in my hands. I did not expect a small coffee to be so expensive as I had only brought ₩10,000. My after-dinner cravings would have to be brought to my usual cheap gas station standards again.
“Maybe I can help with that.” I jumped at the husky voice behind me.
I impulsively rolled my eyes knowing his intentions right away. I’d dealt with these boys too often in America, and I was not about to let the boys of Seoul think they could take advantage of me either.
I swung around to face the source of the voice. “Look, I can take care of myse-”
We met eyes, and immediately I remembered them. No matter how tall he grew, or how deep his voice sunk, they had to be his.
My voice appeared as a whisper. “Jinwoo.”
He handed his money to the waitress, showing off his memorable picture perfect smile. I took the moment to take in his presence. His body definitely wasn’t this buff the last time we met. The veins in his arms were practically bulging as he reached around me to drop the change into the tip jar. His face was carved to be symmetrical and flawless. It seemed as though he used a knife to chisel his jawline at the perfect angle. Looking into his eyes, though, they were still as warm and inviting as always. As if they would always await for any comment, concern, or secret to be told and kept safe inside him.
Jinwoo chuckled. “Hello to you too, Y/N.”
My trance evaporated.
“Sorry, it’s just… you look great.” A sigh blew through my words.
“Well, you know how puberty goes.” He replied.
I laughed. “As you can see, I do not have the same familiarity with puberty. Or at least my body doesn’t. It certainly didn’t create as great of a transformation as for you.”
A genuine smile curled into his lips. “I think if you were standing from my point of view, you definitely would not be saying that.”
Redness burned into my cheeks.
“Y/N?” The waitress saved me from my embarrassment.
I snatched my coffee from her, immediately taking a sip in an attempt to hide my blush. Unfortunately, I had immediately taken a sip from the god-like steaming hot cup of coffee. The lava scorched my tongue, rushing down my throat, blistering my stomach. My face shrunk and released a small shriek in pain.
I tried to play it off as no big deal. “Would you like to uh… hang out tonight? To catch up on what we missed.”
“Yeah I think I can be free… are you alright, though?” He asked.
My voice raised in pitch, obviously lying. “Totally, completely fine. Nothing wrong at all. Let’s go out, shall we?”
I held his arm and led both of us out of the cafe, noting that his arm was so muscular, my fingers wrapped around a rock.
///
Jinwoo broke the awkward silence between us. “So… how have you been?”
I focused my attention on the view before us. We basically hung off of a cliff next to a highway. After we left the coffee shop, his fans spotted us. They continued to chase after us until we hid next to a garbage dump for probably an hour. We decided it would be best to buy as many snacks we could from the nearest gas station, and find the most secluded area.
“Well, after we stopped all forms of communication I got in a car crash, sent to the hospital, my record company found the next Justin Beiber during my stay, and decided to drop me. I then played on the streets of L.A., and barely got by without becoming completely homeless. How have you been?” I finished with a perky fake smile.
Jinwoo’s eyes grew. “Um, I’d rather not say.”
“It’s alright, I already know how great your life has been. Congratulations, by the way. I know how much you wanted to achieve that dream. It was the only thing that came between us when we really wanted to be together.” The smile formed into honesty, but I still stared at the sun turning the day into dawn.
“Hey,” Jinwoo nudged me with his elbow. “I know how much you wanted to make it come true, and I’m sorry it took a turn for the worst. Really, I wish I had known about it. I would have flown over as soon as I could to help.”
“You know I would have been pissed if you did that. I couldn’t be the one to take away the hard work you put into your career so quickly like that.” I munched on our snacks.
“It wouldn’t have made a difference. The thought of you, pushed away from your dreams, living off the streets. It would have echoed in my mind every day. I wouldn’t have been able to get anything done.” He became increasingly tense with every word that spit out of his mouth. “How you suffered over something as stupid as the decision your label made, and I was too far away to do anything about it. Knowing you felt unhappy, that’s what would have driven me off the edge.”
I tore my eyes away from the sunset to look at him. Jinwoo’s fists clenched the cement edge of the cliff, turning white in the knuckles. The jawline protruded, showing how he grinded his teeth. From his chest, I could tell his breaths kept unrelaxed as they rose and fell so suddenly. They kept a slightly quickened pace from mine, and I wanted to help them relax. Without thought, I felt my fingers graze above his heart and linger.
My gaze rose to meet his. “Thank you.”
His voice hushed. “For what? I didn’t do any of it. I didn’t keep up any conversations with you, I didn’t ask how your career was going, I didn’t visit you like I promised, I didn’t keep track of where you stayed. I didn’t do anything.”
“I know you didn’t do any of those things, but you’re the only person who cared enough to wish you did.” I took my hand away from his chest, realizing it stayed for too long.
The sun begged to give its warmth across the view I gazed through. Its colors cleansed my mind. However, it became clustered again whenever I reminded myself of who stared at me
I felt his eyes leave with a smirk. “Wasn’t our young love fun?”
A chuckle released as my feelings matched the sunset. “We were never in love.”
Jinwoo’s smirk changed, staring into the pink. “I know I was.”
I smiled at him. Even the simple thought became too funny to be real. We were too young, it was simple as that. Teenagers don’t know what they’re feeling and make too many assumptions, too quickly. They think they know everything about anything once they have the tiniest experience relating to the subject. Still, it made me feel uneasy if Jinwoo’s grin actually represented happiness.
“Why would you think that?” My voice revealed the confusion he gave me.
That smirk covered itself with the bite of a lip. “You know, after all these years, I have not found a single girl that could put a witch’s cackle to shame like you.”
I gasped at his insult. “Park Jinwoo, I cannot believe you!” I took a slug at his arm.
“Hey, alright, alright, calm down. No need to hit me with your broomstick.”
Another punch. “Jinwoo! You know I’m insecure about my laugh.”
He wrapped me up with one arm. “I’m sorry, but you just make it so easy to make fun of.”
I turned into his scent, letting it wash over me. It gave me something I couldn’t find anywhere else. He made me content.
I let my arms drape around his body. “Were we in love?”
His chest rose. “If I’m being honest, I think I would still be in love with you if we had stayed together.”
I cocked my head up at him. “Why?”
He gave a casual shrug. “Nobody has made me feel the way I felt with you.”
Something about that didn’t feel right with me. All I wanted at that moment was to enjoy our time together, enjoy the feelings I had around him, enjoy the fact that I felt like this was where I needed to be right now. The more we talked about the past, and what could have been, the more walls of discouragement appeared in my mind. Everything he described, I felt the same way. But that was the past.
“What is love?’ I asked.
I felt his forehead lean down to rest on mine. “I guess I believe in it being content, happiness, excitement. Those are the only words I can think of to fit its definition, but words are never powerful enough.”
“How are we supposed to know what love is if we can’t even find the words to describe it?”
“Why do you want to know so badly? Isn’t that the thing with love? You don’t know it until you feel it, and sometimes even then you don’t know what it is.”
“Are you in love right now?”
“I guess I won’t know until I find out.”
My eyes couldn’t help but become curious of his own as they reach up to find his eyes already looking into mine. They never left each other, his pair reminding me of how they would envelope me into him without the need of his body. However, Jinwoo’s arms still held at the small of my back. They wouldn’t let me turn away from him even if I tried,  though I couldn’t think of any reason to. I became surprised by the lack of discomfort for the short distance between the two of us. If anything, I felt more secure of every inch that disappeared between our bodies.
“How do you feel right now?”
“This might be one of those moments that words are never powerful enough to describe.” He held our eye contact without any hesitation.
Another inch disappeared. The wind picked up a bit enough to softly blow a few strands of hair in front of my face. He tucked them away behind my ear. Another inch disappeared. His eyes studied every aspect of my face in the moment, darting in different directions. I couldn’t help but become mesmerized by the passionate interest they had in me. The last inch disappeared. The softness of his lips moved together with mine, bringing me to focus on the sparks lighting off in my stomach. They created a smile into the kiss, and formed an addiction to the connection. My hands grazed across his jaw, folding together behind his neck to embrace him further.
He pulled back, revealing he was also smiling. “I wasn’t sure if you’d let me do that.”
A blush rose on my cheeks that pushed my eyes to the ground. “I wasn’t sure either.”
Jinwoo tilted his neck to the side, leaning down to maintain eye contact with me. “Do you want to do this?”
No hesitations held me back. “Yes.”
That smile crept onto his face again, shining bright enough to enlighten my smile too. I threw my hands around his neck to repeatedly peck at his lips.
I paused. “Are we really doing this? With your fame and fans and everything?”
“I’ve waited too long for you to come back. No matter what’s in my life right now, having you by my side will make it all better.”

The phone rang, what the hell... it’s almost midnight.
“Y/n! Finally, why aren’t you answering my texts? I’ve been trying to get you for whole 15 minutes!” Ugh, Yoon Sanha...
-“Relax drama queen, Imma read it now.” You replied and hung up, honestly you could’ve just ask him what is it about.
Tumblr media
It was almost midnight, but you felt like you do need a company right now, especially a sleepover with your best friends. As soon as you read his texts you dressed up and took your feet to sanha’s place, not even texting him back, leaving the tall boy on ‘seen’.
Arriving at his door, lucky he doesn’t have any neighbors, unless he wants to spend the night at the police station from being so loud this late. Sounded like a sweet chaos inside when you hear the boys screaming songs, their own songs.
To: Ddana🐥. ‘I assume you won’t be able to hear the door bell, so open the door’. Not even ten seconds since the message was sent and the door is already opened widely.
“Y/n! HI!” Minhyuk greets you. He has that wide smile plastered on his beautiful, bare face, wearing the pajamas you bought him few week ago. You were still in love with that smile of his, and his figure in that pajama you picked for him; as if you never fought; as if you didn’t break up 2 days ago. I guess our love has ended, but it hasn’t for me; at least not yet.
-“Minhyuk, Hi.” You smile back at him while stepping in, and he closes the door behind you. You greet your friends. Ugh, finally, I felt like dying there.
Your love was always... loving. It was understanding from both sides. When you decided to part ways, he said it’s better for the two of you to stay friends, because this is how you started; so that’s how you’ll end. It was the last time you spoke to each other, until now.
“Y/n!!!” Sanha ran to hug you, this tall boy can squeeze a human with his hugs. “I missed you!” He says happily, too happy so you might think he’s drunk. Nah, it’s just regular Sanha. -“Already? You saw me yesterday.” You laugh, greeting the others meanwhile Minhyuk stands beside Sanha, eyeing you from the corner of his eye. -“So... what are we watching tonight?” You ask the others who placed bowls of chips and cold beverage cans on the little table. “Uhm... Netflix? Marvel?” Conversation about which movie all of you agree to watch started for the next 10 minutes, while you thinking in your mind why you didn’t bring a jacket along with you. -“Sanha...” you interrupt the tall one, asking him for something with long sleeves to wear.
“Sanha-ya!” Jinwoo calls for him since all of them already started playing the movie, and they wonder where the both of you disappeared. “I’m here.” Sanha runs back to the empty place between Myungjun and Moonbin, leaving the only empty spot next to Minhyuk. Once you close the bathroom’s door, Minhyuk meets your eyes again, distracted by you, and by the little smile that appears on his face again. He then shakes his head and coughs lightly, taking the big bowl of sour cream chips to his embrace, laughing off the stare you two just shared. Great, now I’ll have to try not to be awkward for 2 hours. It’s all Sanha’s fault, it was his idea for me to come over and I won’t be surprised if he planned it all so I can sit near Minhyuk. You grab a soda can from the table, taking a seat near the guy you still have feelings for. He glances at you and goes back to the movie, too quick you’d say.
During the break they decided to take, you take a look at the wall clock; it’s 1:25. Dongmin went to the kitchen to bring more soda cans, leaving all of the others to glance and Minhyuk and you, when he suddenly speaks up. “Is that my shirt?” The charming, crispy voice of him warms your ears and your hear is quickly turned to him. What? No it’s Sanh- SHIT. How could I not recognize his shirt? It has his wonderful scent, I was dumb enough to think they bought the same shirts.
-“Oh, it’s...” you couldn’t speak properly as all of your friends were overwhelmed for whatever their eyes saw, Sanha’s proud smile you wanted to erase so bad but was wide enough for you to understand he did it on purpose. You gave Sanha a death glare and came back to look at Minhyuk. -“Minhyuk I-“ come on, what kind of excuse I can tell him? That I forgot? We only broke up few days ago. And I can’t point out that sanha did it. -“I was cold.” Well, it wasn’t a lie. Your phone that was left on the table, facing up, suddenly lit up when you got a message. Both you and minhyuk looked at it, you grab it to check who was it.
What a surprise. 1 message from ‘Ddana🐥’.
Minhyuk looks at you with a smirk, feeling flustered, you wonder why. “You didn’t change the lockscreen.” There was a relief in his sentence, His teasing tone was always your favorite but now, you just wanted to punch his face (and Sanha’s) and kiss him (not sanha) softly. The lockscreen in which both of you appear on, smiling from ear to ear, at the beach when the view is a beautiful sunset. -“No, I didn’t.” You said with a soft voice, brows furrowed at annoying Myungjun and Sanha who were still sending you teasing messages when they both are few steps away. “Y/n...” he tries to get your attention back. You say nothing but look back at him, with puppy eyes. “I love seeing you in my shirts, I miss it.” He confesses. Really Minhyuk? Like that, in front of everyone? That’s a side I never knew of him.
“I love you.” He says before you could answer his previous confess. Myungjun lets out a scream of happiness and claps his hand like a five-year old boy, the rest just sat there shook, the soda cans dongmin brought almost knew what the floor feels like but he was fast enough to place them on the table, eyes not leaving you and Minhyuk. -“You’re- Minhyuk... this is not the right time, nor place.” I didn’t mean it to be like that, never even imagined him saying it in a situation like this we’re in right now. But now I only sound mean to him, Ugh. I wish he knew how much I love him back.
“You’re right,” he says, not looking like he’s about to say sorry for making you red as a tomato in front of everyone or leaving you speechless. He suddenly stands up, offering you his hand. “Let’s go.” What the hell is he doing? -“Wha- what are you doing?” You ask, hesitatingly looking at his hand you loved to hold so much, still love.
“You said it’s not the right place to talk.” He whispers loud enough for you to hear, but not the others, they just stay there shocked at their friend’s actions; like it was the best movie they watched so far. Eventually you take his hand and he leads you to the balcony.
Night skies were your favorite, especially watching the stars with the one who still owns your heart. Never watched them alone, even if you did, he would’ve joined you right away. The stars always reminded you of those inside his eyes; the sparkle he owns in them; the beauty, it’s magical; and you could stare at it for hours.
“Baby...” he still calls me like that. -“No, Minhyuk, it’s not- why are you acting like this?” “What do you mean?” -“I mean THIS Min. What is this? I thought we are nothing more than friends anymore. Why are you playing with my heart like this? YOU KNOW I STILL LOVE YOU AND TRYING TO-“ Tears were filling your eyes when you raised your voice at him suddenly. Why the hell is he smiling when my emotions are boiling?! -“Why are you so happy?!” Damn, this was the point where you really wanted to punch him. “Because you just admitted you love me.” He replies softly, letting you be. Honestly, his soft tone made you wonder what is wrong with him but you realized the problem is you who gets upset with a person you would do anything for. -“How can I not!” The tears left your eyes, rolling down your cheeks slowly as a pair of arms pull you close to a hug, one that will take all your worries away. “I’m so sorry,” he says while you cry into his shirt, sobbing. -“For... what?” You try to say through the tears. “For making you cry, and for not doing this earlier.” You lift your head as he cups your cheeks, pulling you slightly to his height, leaning in and kissing your lips softly, ever so slowly, reminds you what you liked about him the most. You both open your eyes after couple of seconds, too quick to your liking. -“I missed it.” You whisper against his lips, both smiling and blushing like crazy. “I missed you.” Minhyuk says, leaning in to kiss you once again.
