Donnie and Leo as they appear in Birdie's universe!

Donnie's key features are his new natural eyebrows, the scars across his shell and those lil' spines on the upper edge of his shell that grew in as an adult and made it so his old battle shells stopped fitting. (No worries, he made new ones!) Donnie's leaner than his brothers and tends to skip out on the extra physical training Leo and Raph do.

Leo rocks a cracked shell, x-shaped stripes and a bad right knee. He's also beefier than Donnie, a result of excess training post-movie times. Leo's tail also only reaches to his knees, unlike Donnie's longer calf-length tail. He has a fainter burn scar on his neck from his time in the EPF's holding wing alongside Birdie.

Birdie's twin husbandos rocking their updated default fits.

These are mostly so they have some sort of default for others to use, but really, their clothes vary day to day and even missions are mostly done in (tactfully outfitted) civilian clothes- easier to blend in now, with the ever increasing mutant population living in New York.

Donnie varies in shirts and probably has a collection.

Leo I imagine doesn't like how most shirts look on him so goes shirtless when he can. His shirts are usually a size too big for him.

Donnie has new boots every time you see him, probably prototypes, they're his current focus for Genius Built fashion and he personally ensures new designs work well- his brothers all have their own favorites he's made for them personally. Mikey's ever hopeful Donnie will get into hair products next with the recent growth of those preciously natural eyebrows, but who knows how the tism flows?

Leo's hip bag is NOT Genius Built and Donnie gives him constant grief over it. It's an ongoing argument between them that he eventually let Donnie replace it, but Donnie has yet to make anything Leo's liked better than this tacky thing.

Leo's scarf has secret pockets. His pants are cargo too but most of the pockets are seamless. The boots have pockets. Leo has pockets in his pockets and some of them might be mystically enhanced don't tell Donnie

First Impressions my attempt at writing out blurbs for these scenes below the cut

Donatello holds a fragile hand and hears her voice in his head for the first time- and it's impossible to think she's anything but earnest in her gratitude. Later, he'll make excuses to hear her again, and again, and again... ----- Birdie looks up from where she's kneeling hunched in the dew-wet grass. Her hands are at her neck for the first time in years, touching raw, painful skin marred with burns but unable to stop for the freedom it feels like to her. The world around her is bright and loud and she can't parse out the millions of scents that bombard her. Her ears are ringing, but she's sure she can hear birdsong. Real, actual birdsong! A hand touches her shoulder, firm and steadying, and she doesn't startle for once as she looks up into the brightness of dawn. Leonardo smiles down at her, tired but buzzing with adrenaline from their escape. She wonders if he always had such pretty stripes. She realizes she'd never really looked hard enough to tell before. His hand is warm, but she can feel him shivering through it. "Told you I'd get you out, didn't I?" He laughs as if it were the easiest thing in the world. Birdie, meanwhile, thinks he shines brighter than the sun in that moment.

Marie and Yoshi

Marie is Birdie's daughter with Donatello and is the younger. Yoshi is son to Leonardo and is the first born, despite being tiny.

Birdie has two kids in the future. These two are Marie (youngest, Donnie's daughter) and Yoshi (elder, Leo's son). These are their bare minimal outfits, normally Marie in particular wears way more and varied clothes- but for the sake of reference art, they're rocking their own versions of their dads' uniforms at the same age. Shown here, Marie is 15 and Yoshi is 17. Marie's not actually tall, Yoshi's just tiny like his mum. Yoshi takes after Leo in both personality and aspirations- he ends up being a sword user and a dedicated ninja for the clan, an easy pick for future leader if he could just calm down a few notches- where Leo joked and kept things in control, Yoshi's a wild card and tends to act without thinking too far ahead. Still, he's the son with a heart of gold and way too much energy and nobody give this child coffee. Unlike Yoshi and her parents, Marie isn't as keen on the family ninja thing. She trains to the point of earning a Chunin-level ranking but it's a slow process that she spends less time on the older she gets. Marie is a Technomage- she takes her father Donatello's abilities to the next level, but has the artistic creativity to come up with impossible creations that actually work thanks to hints of magic or insane work arounds that would drive her father to insanity trying to figure out. She inherits the biological requirements for Psionics from her mother but can speak just fine without it, often opting out of using it once old enough to have that level of control- something she later teaches her mother to do, since Birdie is reliant on technological adaptations instead.

Separate post for specifically this piece because I'm really happy with how it turned out and don't mind giving it a creature feature of its own. Originally a part of this epic rottmnt doodle dump post.

I'm so sorry for this tragic series of images. I should not be allowed to draw Papyrus anymore, I have done an unforgiveable thing. More below the cut, in greater and more tragic detail;

Papyrus just after becoming King in the neutral run we all mourn. He's still a hopeful bean, sure that he can set the kingdom right and make everyone happy despite their dire circumstances. Sans still lies to him, and he still expects things to turn out okay in the end. He wears the old king's crown, still smiles, still cares.

One new soul obtained, years into his reign. This is some time after finding out the truth about his dead friends and the human's actions. That might have made things easier in some ways at first, but now that he has the soul in hand, he's tired, out of vengeance and mourning his actions and the human he killed- thankfully, not a young child, but a near grown aggressive jerk.

The second human puts up a different sort of fight- insisting on trying to leave, as so many before. Papyrus is a dedicated ruler now, he's already killed for his kingdom and his once pure innocence is overshadowed with duty to his people now. The child doesn't fight back. He does what he has to do. He wears a new crown sometime after this, a gift from the people, one he didn't want to accept but wears regardless, despite its weight.

The third human is so weak when they arrive, he doesn't have to kill them himself. Instead, he watches them fade slowly, reminded of how similar to monster kind they can be- and driving home the last hurt he can stand to bear when that child eventually dies.

The fourth human turns out to be dangerous, and the fight it puts up in the end nearly kills the king as well- but Papyrus is no longer hesitant in his task. Cold, distant and calculated, he exerts a control unseen anywhere else in the royal line.

The fifth human is kind. He kills them mid-sentence while they're sparing him in the first turn of battle. So close to the goal, now. He's begun dressing in a more traditional manner for a king, with cloak and cape and golden adornments- a completely different person from the young man who took the throne years before.

The sixth human breaks the last bit of caring he has left in him. Their pleas have become dull, meaningless noise. He no longer notices the smell and left the mess for others to clean. One more to go. He waits for that rare red soul now- and a part of him hopes their blood will be the same as the one that got away so long ago.
