Welp, finally posting something that’s not a reblog on this page!

I ended up getting inspired by this art from @might-be-tiny-gt and decided to do my own version! I’m not exactly great at drawing animals (or even fake ones), so I went with the next best thing: Boat in a bubble bath!

Anywho, I’m going to make sure my back doesn’t turn into a shrimp-shaped disaster. Hope whoever sees this enjoys it!

#death note #death note fanart #mikami teru #my art #this one took me roughly two to two and a half hours #mostly because lines for this style need to be clean or i will cry #and i drew it first so this was the one where i decided my color scheme #so honestly i might be just as fast in both styles if i count out my wishi-washi color picking #i’m not sure which style i like more though #this one feels the most me. i’ve always been a cartoonist at heart #but then sometimes i will get so fed up with not drawing in other styles that i just go wild and draw in whatever style i want #and i’ve been drawing for a loooing time. like. for as long as i could hold a pencil long #and i did have an ironed out style for years until BAM now i feel like i’m being torn into pieces not just by artstyles #but also by a lot of things in life #if anyone knows how to separate oneself into multiples that each take a different aspect of yourself hmu #i think i’d be a lot more productive if i didn’t feel like i’m fighting with myself over everything all the time #i’m getting off-track again #but anyways i love this little dude #mikami’s great!!#these were actually just practice so i can get a feel for him before i draw him in situations #and probably some mikalight

Janos’s Disguise Self disguise! They’ve had a few occasions to not look like themself, mostly because they were traveling to a country that had a massive bounty on their head. They disguised themself as a much more luxuriously beautiful tiefling woman, though one who was still short and who still looked kind of severe. They wore a sari-like outfit that was common in Nicodranas, because the disguise debuted there.

This sketch was cooking for a day or two and it was Not working so I nearly abandoned it, but today I rallied and tried to let go a little, and lo and behold, not feeding my perfectionism worked!

sudden realisation that the thing holding my art back is that I never had an anime phase

#going to find a time machine and get my younger self into death note or smth #I have been driving myself insane for the past few years bc I wanna draw characters but all I know how to do is portraits #I’m trying to figure out how I could recreate smth similar now and tragically I think it does just come down to draw more :/#however! I am also going to try using brushes which will be bad for sketchiness and better for lineart bc I might need to force myself here #I just gotta simplify things down to basic shapes how hard can it be #[has been thinking this exact thing for years and it’s not worked]#I am getting better every time I do stuff I’m just not satisfied bc art is frustrating when you know what you want but can’t get there #god it’s 2am I should not be awake rn but I could draw again tonight so I was taking advantage #endlessly frustrated by hair. why is it so awkward. Yeah idk I guess I’m just gonna go back to just reblogging things idk. Not really too in the UTMV fandom anymore and I still can’t get many interactions.

#I still love Error and Fresh don’t get me wrong but like. that’s really all I care about now + I’m focused on other fandoms now #like Sparklecare and Pizza Tower #I tried the best I could here to get interactions #but people barely reblogged my art or sent asks/practiced reblog karma or anything #and not only that is kinda demotivating but the fact that the interactions basically came to a screeching halt bc one mutual had to leave #like. it was nice when I got interactions. but I’m kinda disappointed to see how they suddenly stopped because one person left it’s like. ok #and I don’t really know how or even if I can even bring them back. because I try to go out of my way to send asks n stuff #but like. #random post #I’m being silly for the most part lol #tho I’m always surprised when I draw smth nice or am able to do smth well #shocked like when a deer sheds their antlers lol. like ‘WHATHFUCK IS THAT?!?!’#every day I forget I draw and every day I remember that fact #I may always be thinking about my ocs. but I’m not always thinking about drawing if that makes sense. like it’s 2 separate things that mesh #sometimes. so if that isn’t coherent I’m experiencing the consequences of my actions (hunger and thirst)#anyways when I first played beatsaber I shocked everyone and myself when I was able to keep up the faster paces #I guess I’ve just had practice with quick things like that before? I play a game where it’s very ‘push button at right time’ and that one #also goes pretty fast. idk tho. anyways I learn things about myself and it’s fun (like when I realized my right shoulder may have the #ability to dislocate? not entirely sure there but it looks really fucked when I move certain ways)#I’ve also noticed my left eyebrow will subconsciously just raise on its own. not like the Rock style or anything lol but you can obviously #see it. also I can lift my right brow on its own without moving any other muscle on my face so that’s neat #I can also move my ears! it’s from all those years of trying to keep my glasses on my face lol #anyways I’m rambling and I need to eat now so <3
