Featuring heaps of angst (I really cannot emphasize this enough), with an eventual happy ending where people come back to life and characters are more functional then where the show left them, slow burn Weilan and Kunlun/Ye Zun romances, gratuitous time spent in Ye Old Haxing, Zhao Yunlan and Kunlun as separate people, gratuitious character study, main conflict as character’s overcoming their own self-destructive tendencies, and a lot of emotional biased povs as Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan and Ye Zun heal themselves and become more balanced with each other. So yes, ultimately some Zhao Yunlan & Ye Zun friendship, Shen Wei & Ye Zun friendship, and just overall reaching an outcome where they can all move into that house Zhao Yunlan bought in the present, and live a comfortable domestic life as they solve cases and help people for the foreseeable future.
