"You didn't pack up my stuff yet." -> "Your stuff is all in boxes! It's perfect!"
Jess is always looking for Signs, searching for meaning in the things people won't say.

The most unrealistic part of Gilmore Girls is the fact that people aren’t constantly stopping and saying ‘huh?’ whenever Lorelai and Rory say the most obscure, out of date reference neither of them would realistically know.

it’s 2am and i’ve watched the episode where rory goes to the hockey game and jess came by after passing her house and getting the most passive aggressive treatment from lorelai, it has occurred to me that rory never told her mother about the tickets and the concert and it just that. rory tells lorelai everything and i feel that in her relationship with jess, and later on in her relationship with logan, rory just doesn’t tell her mom stuff as she used to. every time she mentions jess name she get a passive aggressive comment about how jess is treating her so she can’t even tell her the good stuff about how the poor boy stood in the line for hours trying to get her some tickets?? and how fun she probably had that night?? and i love that little detail of rory closing her bedroom door every time it has something to do with jess. jess calls - her door is automatically shuts down so her mom won’t hear her talking to him, she comes home from a concert she probably had a good time at, she doesn’t say it to her mom she just going straight to her room closing her door and i love that little detail of rory and jess relationship being a little bit more private, more theirs. and as taylor swift once said romance is not dead if you keep it just yours.

Why do so many Gilmore girls fans like Tristan? I mean I love chad michael murray but Tristan is an awful character. He was constantly an asshole to Rory. He harassed he multiple times even after she CLEARLY told him she was not interested and continued being a dick and persuing her when she got a boyfriend. Also he was unnecessarily mean to Dean who was just protecting his girlfriend. Honestly if he was played by some non conventionally attractive actor he'd be called a creep ( which he was) but since it was Chad Micheal Murray people think it's charming. If this isn't pretty privilege then what is?.

the fact that jess shakes his head in disappointment while knowing it’s the same girl that missed her mother graduation to see him in his hometown is insane to me. logan told her to do something stupid, something fun, something bad for her, but we are talking about the girl that went to nyc by herself to see a guy and she wasn’t even sure he’d be there!!! jess knows it, he knows her.
NO YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!! Like, here Logan is, giving her this speech about being brave and doing scary things or whatever, when he doesn't even know her. She jumped on a bus to New York to see a boy with absolutely zero plan, she chose a different school than she'd planned her whole life, she was student body vice president even though she really didn't want to be, never backed down from whatever challenge Paris threw at her at the Chilton paper (parking lot paving? And interviewing her mom's ex fiancé?? I mean come on, that was NOT easy), she navigated an incredibly challenging extended family (I mean, her mom and grandparents constantly fight and still Rory managed to have a relationship with everyone, and her dad who was mostly absent from her life has another daughter and still Rory was there for the kid's birth), and those are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. She's done so much that Logan doesn't know about because he never cared enough to ask but somehow in one conversation has her questioning everything about herself.
Meanwhile Jess knows just how very Not Rory the girl in front of him is just by taking one look at her. Knows she is lost and confused and scared after one conversation. He's the only one she has ever let her guard down around, felt safe enough to be truly herself, because he never tried to change her. And because of that, he knows her.

I'm so afraid of what you'll say.
I'd like to know if you'd be open to starting over from scratch?
I'd like to know if you'd be open to giving me a second chance?
