Hello! You mentioned about your arknights friend-ships?? Please please share!

Hooooooo boy, this is going to be a Long One. Even before I got the Lingering Echoes brainrot (and believe me, there will be plenty of Ebenholz and Czerny in here), my main source of creative interaction with the game was to imagine how my many operators interacted. So a lot of the friendships here are inspired by my own team comps!

Vigna & Zima: The Vanguard Besties! They bash in heads, then hang out together to talk music and such, helping each other pretend they are both Normal Teen Girls.

Similarly, Utage & Angelina & Every Other Teen: Utage and Angelina have unofficially decided that they're in charge of helping the other teen on RI lead somewhat normal lives. They're the Cool Older Sisters who check in on everyone, lead events like movie nights and slumber parties, etc. They also have plenty of Girl Talk nights themselves!

Amiya & Beeswax: Sometimes, Amiya needs to unwind and empathize with someone who is a solid foundation of Calm And Chill. This is when she hangs out with Beeswax, both of them unwinding while they catch up.

The Lappland Protection Squad (Lappland and every high-block character): Anyone who blocks enemies for Lappland to slice and dice on the battlefield gets a shirt. It started as a jest to fluster Bison, but then Lappland just...kept doing it. Now nearly every Defender and a few high-block Guards like Gaviel all have a "Lappland Protection Squad" shirt. Some of them even wear it around the landship, which genuinely makes Lappland happy.

Hellagur & Dusk: Somehow, these old souls have reached an understanding, and Hellagur can approach Dusk with the perfect mix of respect and authority. Aka he is one of the few who can actually drag Dusk out of her room for nearly any reason. He's given her candy, and she's offhandedly given him a painting that he's quietly hung in his room.

Czerny & Lumen: This mostly crops up because @cherrygrudge and I keep RPing them in games together, so now they are Universally Pals. Czerny's drive inspires Lumen, while Lumen keeps Czerny in-check health-wise, and both are fair confidantes when the other is feeling low. Lumen has also figured out a few massages to help with Czerny's Oripathy-related backaches, bless his soul.

Czerny & Exusiai: Another friendship inspired by a friend, this one being discussed in-depth with @annierosaart. These two actually see through each other's masks of bravado on the battlefield, so they can actually open up and talk about their deeper feelings with each other. Usually while drinking. They drink together a fair bit if the other cannot find another drinking partner.

Ebenholz & Stainless & RockRock & Surtr: Stainless is the extrovert who drags the introverts along on adventures and gets them to all hang out. They especially like going to rock shows together, sometimes supervising the teen operators like Vigna while out. (Also, Stainless and Ebenholz are both trans and bond over this, I do not make the rules).

Sesa & Mr. Nothing: Once these two start talking, they do not stop and no one can understand them. Are their eccentricities feeding into each other, or are they trying to one-up each other...?

Czerny & Rope: I've rambled about this elsewhere, but both come from rough and poor backgrounds, and I think them bonding over this (and how honestly tough it is to recover and accept help) would be neat to see.

Ebenholz & Rosmontis & Ifrit: The "Mad Science Brain Bastards" trio, who while seeming to clash on the outside actually balance each other well on the inside. Ebenholz especially keeps an eye out on the girls and is helping teach them music to better control their Arts, but they keep him grounded too. If one is havibg a bad brain day, expect the other two to crop up and help posthaste.

Carnelian & Nightmare: Carnelian actually gets along with both beings, and it seems to help Nightmare to actually have a friend of her own. Everyone else watches warily to hope Carnelian will continue to be a *positive* influence...

Archetto & Bagpipe: They talk about dreams and farming, among other things, you can catch them in the greenhouse sometimes, working on crops and singing, or sharing a drink after hours.

La Pluma & Pallas: La Pluma looks after Pallas whenever the Minoan Hero is drinking at her bar, and is also one to actually ask about Pallas's many stories, which Pallas appreciates.

Pallas & Hellagur: Also old war hero drinking buddies, though Hellagur is actually a good influence who keeps Pallas from getting too deep in the cups.

Ebenholz & Texas: Inspired by a ficlet by @catgirlcrisis, but these two would have A Lot to talk about...or just be happy to vibe without saying anything at all, especially while their louder companions are up to Antics.

Czerny & Blitz: Czerny is helping teach Blitz about the differences between Leithanien and German culture (and they are...also drinking buddies). Blitz also keeps sharing Earth songs with Czerny to see if the composer can "help him recreate his favorite songs here", though it's mostly Blitz bringing over meme songs. Czerny has caught on, but he actually likes some of the songs (he managed to make a slow ballad out of "Never Gonna Give You Up"), so he doesn't mind.

Reed & Pozyemka: Poets who wish they could hide away in a fantasy land, but they both have to face reality and make a change. Still, they find time to unwind together.

Ebenholz & Viviana: I saw a comic once of them being childhood friends and I love it to bits. If Viviana ever joins RI, her and Eben are so delighted to reunite and catch up. They talk *a lot* about books.

Cardigan & Beeswax: Odd friends from the Leithanien Group Chat (as Cardi is in fact Leithanien, and Beeswax tags along with Carnelian to enough events/chats that she's considered an Honorary Member by the others). Cardigan enthusiastically attempts to help Beeswax with horn upkeep and such, and while she's a bit of a klutz with is...well, Beeswax is a klutz too, so she doesn't mind.

I could spin up plenty more, but I hope you all enjoy at least some of these!

Hello Shutters!!

Arknights question. I've finally decided to work on my modules for my 121 E2 operators (the ones that can)!! Bragging aside, I have no idea which one to pick for Lumen!! Both seem to have their uses, but I'm short on resources and saving some for the Monster Hunter collab, so I want to prioritize one. I'd like to hear your opinion on each!!

Get the second one for sure, the module that removes healing penalty on the furthest tiles on a Therapist's attack range.

I have a harsh opinion on Lumen's first module. Giving himself status resistance is pretty pointless when he gives status resistance on anyone he heals, and having an anti-taunt won't do anything if you just don't deploy your medics last (and you shouldn't be doing that anyway). The upgrades increasing the duration of his status resist on heals also further makes the base effect pretty meh: if Lumen needs status resistance, he can always heal himself. The one exception is planting him next to a freezing device since those don't do any damage, but it's a bit too niche to be worth such expensive upgrades imo.

On the other hand his second module turns his gargantuan heals into truly big dick green numbers. Removing the penalty on the furthest away tiles makes Lumen able to heal for the full effect on every ally in his attack range (which means he can be placed further back without drawbacks), and the module upgrades increase the strength and reduce the cooldown of his instant heal on any ally that receives a debuff in his range.

Personally I don't think it's a necessary upgrade when Lumen's already incredibly powerful as a medic, but if you want to make his heals even stronger than they already are, then the second module should be your go-to.

I also happen to be v v much excited for Lumen 🥳💕!!!

He seems v awesome omg ✨!! It's super cool that he'll be a free Operator and the first male six star Medic Operator in Arknights! (And a free six star is always v v cool, and it's generous of Hypergryph I feel 👍) His skill set looks like it'll be extremely helpful and useful, as his skills remove Abnormal Statuses 🤔!!

And, you're v right, he definitely seems to be a super sweet and almost gentle character 🥺! Just by his character appearance and the small bits I've seen of his personality so far, he seems like he'd treat you super softly aaa 🥰!! (And I believe his animal is also some sort of guppy fish, which I find v cute svhss 🥺💞!!!)

I most certainly hope people will send in requests for him as well 👉👈!!! I would love the chance to write for him v v much (like I mentioned about him seeming like a softer character, I feel like he'd be the perfect Operator for fluff or comfort writing svshs aaa 🥺💕...!)

Regarding when the 'Stultifera Navis' event will release svzhs, I'm not v sure aaa 😯🤔

I heard there was some speculation that it would release around October, however if Hypergryph is planning to have 'Stultifera Navis' event be the 3rd anniversary event for the EN server (since it was the 3rd anniversary event for the CN server!), then I would believe that it would be released closer to the date the global version of Arknights first released (which would be January svshs) 🤔

However I'm simply not sure at all svshs 🤔 I don't look v deep into CN news or anything such, so the only time I really know about events or content coming to the EN server is when Arknights EN social media accounts officially announce it 👉👈!! (If any of you guys happen to know more about this anon's question than I do, then please do inform me 👍!)

I do believe it'll release sooner than later, as I do know 'Stultifera Navis' is the event that followed after the 'Guide Ahead' event svshs!

Hello, I would like to mention my favorite character in Arknights, since you seem to be accepting asks about it.

His name is Lumen and unlike the other Just Some Guy characters that are semi-common in this game, he literally is Just Some Guy.

The most rained upon fish in the world. The most ordinary person to be ranked as a six star. He has a little fish swimming around his sprite when you're in a stage.

He's also very familiar with the mysterious fish civilization technology that's related to the eldritch sea creature storyline. He made a weird nightlight that people don't understand.

He's just some guy, his only weapon is an umbrella he picked off the side of the road. He also sailed into open ocean without supplies and only a vauge destination to try and rescue like. Four people. And only one of them couldn't swim for too long IIRC.

...Sorry, I'm just a little obsessed. He's my blorbo, my lame ass boyfriend. I would show a picture, but asks don't allow that.

(late) new years special , m ! reader, slight mentions of stalking (by some side character) , ships of other characters/operators (elysium×thorns , flamexe) , swearing , w with her bombs , reader having quit long hair , cringe writing because manager was legit brain dead

[ lots of nonsense/cringe because my brain died midway while playing Arknights. ]

New Year at Rhodes Island. Everywhere has New Year designs with the color theme of [fav/color], with countless Operators with smiles on their faces. Currently, Rhodes Island was on a ship(a ‘small’ gift from Saint CarmenStultifera Navis), celebrating their New Years with the Iberians who also came by to greet them and have a chat.

"Happy New Year, Doctor." PRTS greets [name], making him smile. "Happy New Year too, PRTS." He greets back. 

Amiya enters the office, a smile on her face. "Doctor, it's New Year! Come and look at the ship!" She says while smiling. She's such a sweet child, so he can't help but agree. 

[name] places PTRS in his pocket and follows Amiya. Upon reaching the cafeteria, it was filled with New Year designs, and everyone seemed so lively, same goes with a certain Iberian. He smiles with joy, holding the gift that he has.

“No worries, Lumen!” chimed in Elysium. “I’m sure the Doctor will love it! You made a great choice with your gift.” 

A white glove pats Lumen’s shoulder, making the Ægir turn around to see Thorns. “I had to agree with Elysium but he’s right; he will really love it. Just believe in yourself.” The sea urchin says, encouraging him.

Meanwhile, [name] looks around to see many Operators chatting lively, greeting each other with a ‘Happy New Year’ and exchanging some cards. After looking around, he spots Thorns and Elysium, along with the other Iberian Operators currently on board such as Indigo, Lumen, Whisperain and so on. 

"Happy New Year. I do hope you're enjoying your time here at Rhodes Island." [name] smiles. "Doctor! Indeed it's such a wonderful day at New Years!" Elysium says with absolute glee. “But sadly, my captain doesn’t want to go out to see all of this joy.” The Liberi chuckled. “No need to force her. Surely she has her reasons for not coming today.” [name] said, making Elysium nod. 

Lumen who was behind the Iberia Operators(although can be seen) was feeling nervous, fiddling with his clothes. Skadi, who saw this, came over. “Something wrong?” She asks, raising a brow. “O- Oh, Skadi! It’s great to see you here. How’s Specter and Gladiia?” Lumen asks her.

“Doing fine.” The female Ægir replied. “But I can’t help but notice. You seem to be nervous or some sort.” She comments. “Doesn’t have the courage to ask his crush out.” Indigo comments. “No!” Lumen hisses at her, but [name] notices. “Something wrong there? Oh hello, Skadi.” He said, noticing the Abyssal Hunter. 

“Nothing, Doctor!”

“Hello, Doctor.”

The two said in sync, but the Doctor managed to hear both giving them a smile. “Oh, there’s Ch’en and Swire.” [name] chuckled at the two. “Still arguing eh?” He turns around to the Iberians (plus the lone Ægir). 

“I do hope you enjoy the New Year here at Rhodes Island.” He says. “See you around!” The Doctor waves, heading towards Amiya and Dr. Kal’tsit. Lumen sighs. “Oh well…” He whispers. “You missed your chance.” Skadi whispered at him, making the Ægir yelp, forgetting that the Abyssal Hunter was behind him.

“It’s not that hard. Just tell him.” 

The small group looks at Executor. The Sankta pats the Ægir in the shoulder. “You’ll be fine, trust me. I’m the Doctor’s assistant, and he really doesn’t mind other Operators talking to him. So take a deep breath and go ahead and confess.” He urges.

“Okay,” Lumen sharply inhales and exhales. “I’ll do this.” Everyone around him smiled as he took a few steps. As he nears the Doctor, he immediately makes a U-turn to go back. “I can’t do it! I can’t!!!” He replies.

For the whole day, the Iberian Operators tried to encourage Elysium mostly urges him Lumen to try and give his gift to the Doctor. A couple of people have been joining the small group of encouragement lately. 

All agreed not to let the Doctor know. [name] didn’t know fortunately, due to him being surrounded by a bunch of New Year cards of greeting or thanks(mostly) and operators almost all day.

It was almost evening, and the previously small, now big group is in a room with Lumen. “I-i’m sorry guys, but I really can’t…” He mumbled. “I’ve been there.” An Operator speaks up, making everyone look at him. “Couldn't confess my feelings for a few weeks until I did.”

“Well?” Exusiai asks. “Did it turn out good?” The guy smiled, nodding at the Sankta. “It did turn out good. I’ve never been happier before! It was like I could die without regrets.” He smiled. Somehow, Lumen felt jealous, hearing that everything went well and smoothly for him.

“It’s up to you when it will be the time to tell the Doctor. All you need is patience.” He said, making him raise his head. The Operator pats his shoulders. The warm moment was stopped by the trio of Adnachiel, Arene, and Ambriel. 

“REMOVE PATIENCE OUT OF THE WINDOW!” Ambiel came first.

“LUMEN YOU HAVE TO CONFESS TO THE DOCTOR, ASAP!” Added Arene.

“LUMEN YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!!” Urged Adnachiel.

Everyone, along with Lumen being alarmed and confused, went to a part of the ship. From afar, they can clearly see [name] holding a teddy bear while hugging an Operator. Clearly, she was grabbing his ass despite the Doctor telling him not to, laughing while being uncomfortable. In the end, she says goodbye in a seductive manner (in which y/n ignored completely) while keeping her smirk.

“Not her again.” Executor said, crossing his arms. “That woman has been flirting with the Doctor non-stop. I’ll be honest, I’m extremely bothered by her flirting.” He admits.

“She along with her other companions keeps barging into the office without permission despite the sign outside. Not to mention the fact that she keeps stalking [name]. The Doctor keeps ranting out about it, so don’t you dare lower your guard around her.” Executor said.

Meanwhile, [name] sat down at a nearby seat, putting the stuffed toy at the table. Lumen was shocked to the core. He then looks at [name], seeing that he has an uneasy smile on his face when he opens the phone. The Ægir couldn’t bear to see your uneasy face, and wants to see the smile that you always give to him every time they chat. 

Inhaling, he opens the door to the deck, the smell of the ocean present. The first person to take notice of this action was Thorns, alerting everyone. “He’s on the move.” He said, pointing to Lumen walking. 

Enforcer loads his gun, quietly walking outside with W and Executor. “We’ll make sure no stalker bothers the moment. Keep quiet for now. I’ll shoot the ugly motherfucking piece of shit down.” Executor said in a threatening tone, making the Operators, except one, to tremble in fear.

“Don’t mess with the Doctor or Executor, got it…” mumbled W. The Sarkaz jumps into the roof while the Sanktas go somewhere else. “I find that hot.” Flamebringer says, gaining some stares. “What? He scoffs. The group watches as the events unfold before their eyes, as if it’s a real life k-drama scene.

“Um, Doctor?” Lumen asks, gaining [name]’s attention. “Lumen! Happy New Year!” He greets. The smile that he shows makes the Ægir’s cheek have a light tint pink. “Happy New Year too,  Doctor.” He smiled. “Since it’s New Years, I wanted to give you a gift.” He hands over the small box colored in dark navy wrapped in a light blue ribbon.

“It’s a very cute wrapping!” smiled [name]. “It’s small, but the small gifts that I usually get are adorable. Or— hehe, expensive.” He chuckled. Slowly, [name]’s gloved fingers untie the ribbon. He thought the ribbon was nice, so he didn’t want to throw it away. Opening the box gently, he gasps when he sees a set.

It was a set of a pair of earring, necklace, bracelet, and a ring. All had a design of a blue fish. The ring only had a small yellow fish in it. [name] laughed. “The fish kind of looks like you.” He points out. Lumen nods, causing the Doctor’s lips to part. “It was custom made, so it was expensive. But since you liked it, I guess it was worth it.” The Ægir smiled. 

“Want to try it on? I can help you.” He said, in which [name] smiles in appreciation. “Can you also add the ribbon? I think it's too adorable to throw it away.” He says, holding the ribbon. “Of course. I’ll place the ribbon where it fits the most.” Lumen adds, making the Doctor intrigued for the small surprise.

First, Lumen places his gifts in their proper places. Then, he goes behind [name] and ties his hair with the ribbon, extending down his hair. He turns the Doctor around, smiling about how he looks. “You look very handsome.” Lumen compliments, making [name] smile.

“Thank you. Although may I see how I look?” Being curious, [name] brings out PRTS, and hands it to the Ægir. “Can you use PRTS to picture me?” Lumen lets out an ‘oh’ sound, but gets confused. “PRTS, open camera. Allow Operator Lumen to access for one time.” The Doctor ordered, and quickly, PRTS swapped to camera mode.

“Wow…” The Ægir was amazed. “PRTS is very wonderful.” He commented. The device heard the comment. “Thank you for the compliment, Operator Lumen.” PRTS said, surprising Lumen. “Very intelligent, and I’m impressed.” He said. 

He shakes his head, not wanting to get sidetracked. After taking a few pictures, he shows it to [name]. “The set that you picked was very beautiful. I love it, Lumen, thank you very much!” He smiled at the Ægir. Lumen couldn’t be happier, his heart is filled with euphoria. 

He loved it. Lumen thought. The Doctor loved it; [name] loved it! The hidden Operators saw his happiness. They smiled, before their faces frowned from the sigh of the one and only— creepy stalker. “Hello [name]~” She said, seductively. “Oh… Hi Lumen.” She smiled at the sight of the Operator, but you can clearly hear the hatred in her voice.

[name] felt uncomfortable, his other hand gripping Lumen’s hand. “My, isn’t that set wonderful? But I believe mine fits you even more.” She said, glaring at the Ægir as she smiled. The lady takes a step towards him, hissing at him, making it loud in order for [name] to hear. “Listen here. [name] is mine so dont dare try and steal her from me.

Having the courage, Lumen glares back. “Can’t do so. I love [name] more than you do!” [name] was shocked along with the lady, eyes widened. The Operator got angry, raising a hidden knife about to strike Lumen. But before she could do so, someone interrupted her.

“Fuck off from the Doctor, you bitch.” Executor said, his gun facing her. In a matter of time, he shoots it, causing the impact to stop her from stabbing the Ægir. She backs off, back touching the railings. “This is for stalking [name].” Lumen said, pushing her to the ocean.

“Oh heavens I killed someone.” He freaked out as soon as a realization kicked in, to which the Sankta came to rub his back. Soon, other people emerged, but W shoot at some at them. Enforcer appeared, using his gun to push away some of them. 

“HELL YEAH BITCHEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!” W yelled out in pure bliss. “HAPPY NEW YEAR MOTHERFUCKEEERRRSSS!!!”

“Finally she’s gone.” Executor said. “I’m sick of her barging into the office. And no one will speak of me cursing. If the Notarial Hall knows about this, I’ll be fired.” 

Sobs came out of [name]’s mouth. He embraced Lumen, who embraced the sobbing male back. “Don’t cry Doctor, she’s gone. Oh Lord, you’re making me regret pushing her off the railings…” whispered the Ægir. “No, it’s actually fine.” mumbled the Doctor. “Oh good.” sighed the other male in relief.

“I love you too, Lumen.”

His eyes widened, he stopped embracing for a second to see the smile on [name]’s face. They looked at each other in silence, before finally kissing. W went down the roof and took the bear from y/n’s hands. Ripping the insides of the stuffed toy, she sees that it's a camera. The Sarkaz immediately throws both the bear and the camera into the ocean without care.

“YES THEY FINALLY FUCKING DID IT!!!” Elysium cried out in joy, gaining both [name] and Lumen’s attention. The Liberi hugs Thorns before giving him a light kiss. His eyes widened, letting go of the Ægir. He only chuckled, before pulling Elysium into another tight embrace, and kissing him deeply.  

Flamebringer rushes towards Executor, before kissing him deeply. The Sankta had a small tint of lush on his cheeks. The male Sarkaz placed a hand behind his head, making the kiss deeper. Soon, he pushes Executor into the railings, his legs on the taller male's shoulder, being careful so that he won’t fall down.

“What a New Year.” chuckled [name] at the sight of the four Operators. “I’m happy you enjoyed my gift.” smiled Lumen. “I do, but I don’t have a gift for you.” mumbled the Doctor, although the Ægir cheered him up. “Saying that you love me, and kissing me was the greatest gift that you could give me. I love you, [name].” He gives him a kiss, in which the Doctor immediately kisses back.

“I love you too, Jordi.”

hahaha that's one hell of a roller coaster. kinda messy so sorry 'bout that.
