I think she’s a romantic. I know this scene seems like a huge counterpoint to that lolll but really! I think she’s a romantic who’s also very pragmatic and private about her feelings and personal life, and who’s not very good at romance lmao. She loves ceremony. Like 75% of her career is essentially “making the toys kiss” in both a metaphorical and an almost-literal sense. Getting Hambo back was a grand romantic gesture!! She’s always embarrassed by it / shy about it when it’s personal but who isn’t lol

This is mostly a reminder to myself, but; there are a number of, like, emotional drives/needs/appeals that are quite common, but which just leave me utterly cold. It is important to remember that just because I only ever really notice people doing ridiculous and/or self-destructive and/or evil things because of them, it doesn't necessarily follow that there's anything wrong with the drives themselves.

fandom reaction to calamity would have you believe it was a 1 on 1 rp with brennan and luis imo. i cannot remember the last time i heard someone discuss nydas
NYDAS UNDERAPPRECIATED IN HIS TIME... i could tell going into it that the fandom, broadly, was less invested in him and Patia than the others (with certain pockets of fandom being more into Zerxus, or Cerrit, or Laerryn and Quay) and i didn't know if that was a reflection of how well drawn the characters were or just fandom priorities but it was the latter of course. Nydas and Patia my beloveds

it took me 3 years to start reading the ballad of songbirds and snakes because I was very cynical about a villain prequel that kinda sounded like a cash grab, but it only took me 2 days to finish it. this is a really, really good book. holy shit. Snow is such a good villain protagonist. I called him a terrible person as quickly as chapter two and he still managed to elicit some sympathy (granted, from me, notorious villain stan). But that didn't change the fact that he was a terrible person the entire time. What a great change from the popular 'this villain was such a good person before!' prequels we often see

ALSO adding on to my last post I have seen a bunch of people around all social media say things about the state of shoujo anime in recent years all along the lines of saying there are less shoujo anime bc women's perspectives and stories are viewed as less profitable than shounen and that's probably not untrue in terms of executive's reasoning but also every time there is a shoujo anime made literally all I ever see people talk about are the guy romantic partners and if anyone says anything about liking the woman main character it's always through the filter of saying things like aww the guy loves her so much and it's like. The girls on the shows aren't talking to each other about anything but men the audience isn't talking about anything but men etc. You want women's perspectives. But the only perspective you want is to only keep talking about liking men.

the rarepair pipeline really is just (wants to see two characters interact) (the only people who make content of those two interacting are the shippers) (doesn't mind them having a romantic relationship and thus is converted into the rarepair)
#xiao.yun...... albe.qiu....... any iteration of the xq cy xl ht xin.yan yj gang that don't involve xing.yun.......#i think the minds of koko.mi x raiden shippers are very large but i honestly haven't interacted with enough ship content to rlly get a vibe#yae.sara is also something that tickles the brain mostly bc the people who write fic of them give them so much depth its very nice#x.iao x ht too tbh#like maybe i haven't read enough gen fic of them but i feel like there are so many good potential parallels and a lot of them#are only present/prominent in the ship fics between the two. bc there the writer will have a heavy interest in developing both chars and th#relationship (in the platonic and nonplatonic sense) they have w each other#idk man i'm like thinking about why i seem to ship an endless amt of rarepairs and i think the answer is just ships give people a lot of fr#freedom in imagining things#since so much fanfic is like romance geared bc the development of a relationship begets a natural plot#like yes that's probably something to take note of in fandom that there's so little nonromantic stuff that focuses on more than 1 character#but i dont mind its cute to play w characters like dolls and make them kiss kiss fall in love or whatever#as long as they're a round character and not just used for romance reasons or flattened into like 2 traits im down#ramblings!#2 clarify i honestly think those ships i mentioned are really cute im just analyzing how one could get into them (neutral connotations)

lasted approximately 2 hours into a new playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins before I downloaded a mod. god those mage cowls are ugly af
#me.txt#i play video games#also i'm sad because my favourite warden is an elf mage but i wanna romance alistair#and obviously i CAN have my happy ending by making him a warden and adventuring off into the sunset with him#but ... i don't like having anora be sole ruler lmao. my favourite origin is the f city elf origin. anora sucks with the elves#i think what's best for ferelden is to marry anora and alistair because anora is competent and alistair has morals#so this will just end the in tragedy. and alistair not killing loghain#speaking of#i had a lot of sympathy for loghain's actions at ostagar but upon re-playing the game#like... he was probably right to pull out from ostagar but literally everything before and after the game is a blatant power grab#before and after ostagar* oops#which makes leaving the king to die uh... suspicious#especially since he declared himself anora's regent instead of just letting her rule#anyway this guy sucks idk why y'all like him#'he just wants to help his country!'#he arranged for the assassinations of two prominent and well-liked noble families while there was a blight#he ignored the blight to play politics#he sold his citizens into slavery#'he just wants to help his daughter!'#he declared himself regent and then locked her away in a tower#he decided to blame the wardens for his actions. why? plenty of people have argued that pulling out of an unwinnable situation is fine#smart even#(side note in the war meeting calian suggest waiting for orlesian reinforcements and he said no and calian was just 'okey guess we charge')#(so they're both idiots)#(neither believed it was a blight)#he started a civil war for what reason exactly? he could've supported anora as queen regent and helped the wardens with the blight#... on a lighter note the fireball spell fuckin RULES#as it always does#this has been a controversial tags section#un-controversial probably: idk why i am running out of supplies and equipment so quickly. i guess i am fairly early game but my POULTICES

Astrology Observations #3
Tumblr media
🩵Venus in 8th tend to not date until later in life because love and relationships are serious to them. When they do get into a relationship, it can end up transforming them entirely. Saturn aspecting Venus can cause even further delays in romance.
🩵Mars in Leo rarely show their anger. It's not that they don't get angry, but they feel much too proud to let others know they're angry. I feel like people would assume all fire mars are quick and prone to anger, but I've rarely seen Mars in Leo get angry.
🩵I've met so many Sagittarius risings that have lived incredibly difficult lives with dark pasts. This usually surprises me since they're ruled by Jupiter. I wonder if it has something to do with their Scorpio 12th house?
🩵Sun in 7th are very non-confrontational people. They tend to be people pleasers who prefer being passive in conflict. They can struggle a lot with caring about what others think and because of that, they can struggle with expressing themselves genuinely and without fear of judgement.
🩵Pluto in your chart can show where you'll experience the greatest transformation in your life. I have Pluto in the 9th and higher education, spirituality, and traveling have deeply impacted my life the most. With Pluto energy though, this transformation tends to come through very dark and challenging periods.
🩵Pisces placements can spend so much time alone and not be bothered at all. In fact, their alone time is sacred to them. They're the type to get happy when plans are canceled.
🩵8th house stelliums are prone to heavy depression throughout their life due to how tapped in they are to the darker aspects of life. There's an unavoidable intensity and deepness to them. This familiarity with darkness can build this incredible resilience to get them through anything life throws their way. A lot of people with this stellium are drawn to spirituality as well, due to this interest in what is "hidden" from us.
🩵Capricorn placements are so blunt and their dry humor is my favorite. They have this no bullshit tell it how I see it energy to them that my Scorpio self loves. Capricorn humor is so underrated imo.
🩵Gemini moons and especially suns seem to know so many people and have so many connections. I feel like they're just naturally friendly and sociable. Even if they're introverted, they have this natural talent for communicating with others.
🩵Aquarius women have an otherworldly beauty to them. They look like beautiful mythical creatures. Their appearance is so unique and captivating. They also tend to have a style that stands out from the crowd in some way.
🩵Sagittarius MC/Jupiter in 10th dream of a career that can provide them freedom and opportunity. They're not meant for a traditional career at all and if they do have this type of career, it can really affect them negatively. Traveling can be prominent with this placement.
🩵Jupiter in 2nd/8th can have a lot of success with money in this lifetime. This is the creating generational wealth placement. Ofc with any placement, the sign it's in and aspects to Jupiter can be a stronger indicator of how this money comes in and how challenging the process is.
🩵Scorpio and Aquarius placements hate authority and restriction. They want to live their life their own way without anyone telling them what to do. They're the true rebels of the zodiac.
🩵Jupiter conjunct Ascendant/Jupiter in 1st can feel naturally lucky. They seem to get out of issues easily and have a very abundant and optimistic approach to life, even during times they feel like they've hit rock bottom. They don't linger in pessimism for too long because they see the bigger picture easier than most.
