1. What did you do on the last nice weather day? I’m guessing ‘nice’ here universally means sunny and fair, even though that isn’t my weather of choice. But that said, yesterday I just stayed indoors and caught up on rest by binge-watching Friends, which I haven’t done in a while. I also ordered another embroidery kit online since my first kit, which I had mostly used as a trial since I’ve never done one before, has since run out of the given floss.
2. What do you love the most about your work? I work in an agency, so I’m not forced to do PR under just one company which I think would get boring for me pretty quickly. With the nature of my work, it’s fun working with many different brands/companies at one time because I get to be exposed to and learn about different industries, and I’m also challenged to come up with campaigns that would best fit the different groups that we work with which is always fun. Also, PR is a great way to keep up with the trends and always remain hip because I always know about upcoming campaigns or promos before they’re even unveiled to the public, lol.
3. What do you think about what is going on in the world today? I think wealthy people and big corporations are a crucial, if not the main, root of the world’s problems and it’s frustrating that the task of mitigating those issues is always delegated to everyone below them.
4. What is your favorite way to work out? By not doing so, hahaha.
5. What motivates you? I don’t know if anything has been lately. I’ve been taking life slowly and easily these days and I’m allowing myself to just go through the motions as I digest all these big adjustments currently going on in my life. For now I’m not putting any pressure on myself to be motivated to do anything big. I’m still a little overwhelmed with everything as it is.
...where’s #6?
7. What is something people do that drives you crazy? When people need something from you so they message you, but do unnecessary small talk before asking for a favor. The fact that they need my help does not bother me; the fact that they are only talking to me because they need something from me does not bother me. It’s the small talk that irks me. I’ll be ready to help anybody at any time and it doesn’t matter how long it’s been since we’ve spoken – but just go ahead and ask for the damn thing and don’t waste my time trying to sound like you care about what’s going on in my life.
8. What are some things on your bucket list? Go to Wrestlemania, travel with my own funds, have my own place, have kids.
9. What are some of your deal breakers in a relationship? Do I even have any? Gab dropped so many red flags in our relationship that should have been dealbreakers and my dumb, ever-forgiving ass always saw past them. I think the thing with me is that I think I have a list of dealbreakers, but when actually confronted with them I’m too afraid to speak out about it, so I just forgive and forget and eventually they just stop being dealbreakers. I have to work on that.
10. What do you never leave your house without? My top three are phone, keys, wallet. And of course, as a given – a face mask and face shield.
11. What was your most memorable vacation? Sagada and Singapore/Malaysia, since that was my first trip abroad.
12. Do you have any phobias? Needles and fire.
13. What is your favorite ethnic food? Indian, Thai, Indonesian, and Korean. 14. I love Italian/Thai etc. Would you like to go to my favorite place sometime? I love both, though I like Thai a tad bit more. And yessss, I’m always open to anyone’s recommendations so long as it’s got something to do with food.
15. What TV shows have you binged lately? I’ve been rewatching Friends again and I’m in between seasons 5–7, which I believe to be the show’s peak. Currently, I’m several episodes away from the Ross/Elizabeth storyline and Chandler’s proposal.
16. Send me a funny meme that you shared recently. I haven’t been active on social media, so I haven’t seen any new memes lately. I hate missing out.
17. What do you hate about technology? This is more nitpickiness on my end than anything else, but battery power. I hate being constantly cautious over my gadget running out of power or dying on me especially when I’m out. I often find myself wishing for technology to evolve to the point that we won’t need batteries or to charge stuff anymore, which idek if it’s even possible haha.
18. What sites do you find yourself visiting the most? YouTube, by a mile.
19. Do you have any favorite apps? Again, YouTube. I also like going through Reddit at the end of the day.
20. What is the best part of your day? Any point I don’t find myself feeling miserable.
21. What time period would you like to visit the most, if you could time travel? 70′s punk/rock scene, maybe? < Ooh, this is a good one. Also, late 90s Attitude Era-era WWF/E. And whenever Pompeii was around.
22. What scents do you really enjoy? (a certain flower, cut grass, fireplace, perfume) Bakeries, a newly-cleaned hotel room, coffee shops.
23. What is something that you are terrible at? Giving and following directions, drawing, and cooking.
24. What are some favorites on your playlist right now? Because I mentioned The Japanese House on a survey last night, I am ALL over Saw You In A Dream again. Seriously, god-tier. One of my favorites ever. Outside of that, haven’t been listening to music lately because I’m still sad; but I might find myself back on Spotify soon. As much as I haven’t been tuning into music, I do miss it.
25. What comedy movie is your favorite? Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Also, a bit of a garbage choice but White Chicks.
26. Have you ever meditated? No. I don’t think I have the patience/required attention span for it.
27. What is your dream job? I wanted to be in PR. I currently work at an agency which is my dream for now so yay for me achieving that, but like I’ve said before it would be such a dream come true if I can come work for WWE, my dream company, in any capacity. Getting to work for their in-house PR team would be the perfect icing on the cake.
28. What comes to mind when you think of a great moment in your life? Being in a relationship, and how much I miss that feeling. Now that I’ve experienced both singlehood and having an SO, I can definitely decide that I don’t particularly enjoy being by myself.
29. What do you miss the most about college? The independence I learned to gain. My campus was such a freeing environment and it allowed me to grow so much, to wear whatever I want, to join whatever protest or rally was going on, to meet new people, to hear different perspectives from my classmates. I miss being there.
30. Whenever you text it makes me smile! ???
31. What are you planning this weekend? My weekend is nearly over, actually...for the remaining 10 hours and 20 minutes of it, I willllll probably just watch a bunch of wrestling and maybe find something to watch on Netflix just so that I have something interesting to share for the weekly check-in tomorrow with the team.
32. Who is your favorite band? Paramore, but you knew that already.
33. How do you like to spend your free time? If I manage to find a few free minutes while at work, I gobble that shit up by lying in bed and finding a video to watch. On weekends I like doing embroidery, taking surveys, maybe even find a black hole of articles to read on Wikipedia. I’m also looking forward to playing video games once I’ve finally bought the ones I’ve been eyeing to get.
34. What do you like about springtime? I don’t know. I can’t relate, we don’t have that season.
35. Is your personality similar to anyone in your family? I’m most similar with my mom, but I share traits with my dad as well.
36. How have you handled having to stay in? It was sucky at first, but after eight months you kinda get used to it and just make the most out of things you can do only at home.
37. Are you able to work at home? Yeah, we’re all on a WFH set-up right now.
38. How would your friends describe you? The most popular opinion would probably be ‘shy.’
39. Did you ever take a really big risk? Sure.
40. What do you want to be known or remembered for? Anything but negatively.

Twin Snowflakes part0: Prologue
[Atlas, ???]
In the colder part of Remnant there are many mysterious places that remain hidden in the snow. Old castles and mansions lost to time because of grimm, bandits, or even family.... A pair of twins, age 15 find themselves in one of those so cold places; both of them calm and armed to the teeth. The air is just as cold inside as it outside. Everything inside ruined and battered by time. The in front takes the lead. He’s a boy with shaggy white hair that goes to his shoulders in the back. Beautiful blue eyes and smile as white as snow itself. The twin in the back is a young lady a few inches shorter than her brother. Despite being twins her hair is a really faded blonde with blue eyes darker than his. A ponytail similar to a former heiress is the style she chooses. Both of them are in snow gear.
Nick:So this is the old Schnee estate? Looks a bit like home.
Summer:Only with more snow. Apparently this was our great grandfather’s first attempt to settle down but he abandoned it. Maybe there was a lot of grimm.
Nick:Or he wanted to be closer to the people. This place is a bit out of the way from everywhere else in Atlas. Just perfect for a final test.
Summer:More like a final resting site. You sure we’re up for this? Mom said we’re not ready for this yet. She didn’t do anything this crazy until she was 18!
Nick:Yeah but even she tells us that we are extremely talented and have the benefits of having more aura thanks to dad.
Summer:I’m pretty sure am Arma Gigas will cut through it just as easily, and there’s supposed to be two in here!
Nick:Yep! *puts hands on his hips* one for you and one for me! We’ll show up at home afterwards a little sweaty and cool summoning under our belt. You know.....whenever we actually manage to do a summoning that is. *nods* I say that’s worth a few scratches.
Summer:*pouting* I already have more than enough of those....
His body flinches at those words. He should’ve picked a better choice of words knowing just had many scars the poor younger twin had. Scars he blames himself for.
Nick:*grabs her shoulder* Hey, if you really want to turn back then we can turn back. Last thing I want to happen is go home alone, or not go home at all. I’ll follow your lead on this one.
Just like Nicholas Schnee to put his sister’s feelings before him. It was a trait he shared not only with the man he was named after, but their father as well. She also knew he wouldn’t have dragged her here if he thought she wasn’t ready for this. What’s the harm of going?
Summer:Sigh, If anything goes bad then please bail out. I’ll give you a holler if anything goes bad.
Nick:Sweet! *starts running off* Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!
Summer:Wait! Do you even know where you’re- and he’s gone..... *gets a text message* huh?
Nick: “The ballroom, I pay attention when you talk you know.😜 Stay warm okay?”
The moment she read that she was already messing with a fresh pack of hand warmers in her snow jacket. Getting cold is the last thing she wants to happen. An incident here would be rather unfortunate. If all goes well Nick will find is grimm in the ball room while hers would be somewhere upstairs. Abandoned or not, Schnee architecture doesn’t change; it was like home for the most part. Without delay she ran upstairs; no way she’d let Nick have the chance to witness her match.
Nick:*Sprinting* (Kitchen, bedroom, spare office, cellar, garden exit...this really is home huh? Just a few rooms out of place but a ballroom should always be....) *stops in front of grand door* In the center for all to enjoy. Glad to know somethings are timeless; better make sure I’m prepared.
Soon enough he dressed down to black pants, white long sleeve button up, and a icy blue vest. A long sword is placed on his left side with the trademark arc symbol on the guard and chamber to hold a vile of dust in the hilt. A nice blend of old weapon style and modern day technology.
Nick:All right Mort Froide, it’s time to really test your metal... *walks through the door*
•
Summer: *approaching a giant door* The piano room, maybe I should’ve brought my own sheet music. Would’ve been nice if I could sing this grimm to sleep and kill it.
All the heavy snow gear comes of except for the wind breaker/ heat insulated jacket. Underneath is a pale blue turtle neck and wears compression white jeans. Fluffy calf high snow boots help keep her feet warm as she walks into the spacious room. The only thing in there is a smashed piano and an Arma gigas staring at her from behind it as she grips her specialized version of Myertanaster.
Summer:Not a fan of music I take it? What a shame, guess the sound of our blades will have to be your swan song.
Gigas:*picks up its sword and bellows. The eerie sound of wind through its armor fills the room*
Summer:.....Why did I agree to stay? *dashes toward him*
Gigas:*continues screaming as it charges*
In most cases anything learned about a foe in a book will only get you so far. Against an Arma Gigas though, knowing was 80% of the battle. The giant swung his sword to sweep feet but she was already airborne and launching off a glyph into its helmet. Instinctively it reached for her only to stumble to the ground as slammed her foot against it with a gravity glyph. Hit hard and hit fast was the name of the game. Carvings in her blade began to glow white as her finger trailed it. Her training was paying off; a simple bounce of the gravity glyph onto its sword hand and freezing it with a stab.
Summer:(So far so good. It’s huge but it’s fast...Just like mom said. Slow it down and keep moving before it-) *jumps off*
Gigas:*slams his free hand on top of the other one. Freeing it immediately.
Summer:(Ugh that didn’t last long. Maybe I should’ve mastered time dilation before we attempted this.) *spins revolver to fire* You’re not gonna let me get that close again easily are you?
Enraged the Gigas slams his sword creating a wave of slush; another move already predicted. Summer spears her way through with her sword now burning hot. Both her and Weiss’s weapon is basically identical in every way but one. Summer’s has the benefit of holding onto a bit of the last elemental dust used to create unique combinations. With fire know on her blade and ice still lingering in it, she creates a new glyph to form a thick steam and hides. Forcing the grimm to swing blindly.
Summer:*circling around* (Good, it has no idea where I am. Still got a bit of fire dust left so...) *switches to wind*(I got this I got this I got this) *begins to twirl with each step like a dancer*
Rapid swings and the ice cold room quickly elementals the steam but not her attack is set. A circle of glyphs surround the Gigas glowing a mix of green and red. As it tries to move a vortex of flames erupts from the ground, causing it to once again make its ghostly scream.
Summer:*sweating* Phew....that should keep you still for a mo-
80% still leaves 20% of chaos to creep through. That percentage was a giant sword flying out the flames and right at her. Quickly dodging saved her but not the new hole outside that let a rush of cold hair disrupt her hard work. There was no time to get up before a giant hand grabbed her and slammed into the floor. It proceeds to drag her across the floor by her arm fast; hitting anything and everything.
Summer:Agh! (I got to confident...he’s gonna grind my into powder at this rate! I gotta think of something! I-) Ahhhh!
Unexpectedly her arm slid out her jacket and sent her crashing into a wall. At least she’s free but now the cold is quickly seeping in...
Awww someone looks cold....
Summer:*stumbling* (I do not have time to deal with this...)
You always have time for me. What’s wrong, out of breath and option? Why are you always so weak?
Summer:(Shut up and let me concentrate!)
Stakes were quickly rising pass the point of no control. Desperately she sprinted for her jacket but was met with sword blocking her way. Her own blade was hastily brought to guard her body as the Gigas sent her into another wall with a punch. Aura might save her one more time but after that there’s no guarantee.
Summer:I’m going nowhere fast. *reaching for her scroll* I’ll keep my distance and wait for Nicholas to-
As usual you need his help. Can you really do nothing on your own? Useless.....
Summer:......(Am...am not....) *shivering*
Denial doesn’t suite you. Accept your place and fade into the background already. The only good thing about you is me...
Summer:......*picked up by the Arma Gigas*
It’s okay sweetie, I won’t let you die though. That doesn’t help me in the slightest. So do us both a favor and just.....
The room begins to freeze over with ice. Summer’s hair goes white and her eyes a faded blue. A chill breath escapes her and freezes the hand trapping her, then it shatters. Ice comes up from the floor to meet her. What once was a room filled with screams is now drowned out by sadistic laughter.
???:FREEZE....
•
Nicholas moves across the ballroom on glyphs like a figure skater. His fight being challenging but not overwhelming. The ballroom is now in shambles as the Arma Gigas runs at him like a deranged man.
Nick:That’s not becoming of a knight now is it? Maybe it’s about time to finally end this; can’t keep Sum- *sees ice creep along the ceiling* Summer? No....that’s too much ice.
Gigas:*swings downward*
Nick:*Blocking* Sorry....can’t spend anymore time on you. Possible family emergency.
The young man slicks his hair back with his free hand before going all out. It would be a bother to mess up because of something like hair. A glyph glows over Mort Froide and onto his hand. Nick jumps back as a solid version of his blade forms out of ice. Regular and ice glyphs form around the room; each ice glyph creating a sword.
Nick:*takes a breath* Iet me show you what happens when an Arc is born with Schnee talents....
He dashes straight for its leg and slashes it, breaking the ice blade. Continuing to slide, he grabs another one and ricochetes back at his target by kicking off another glyph. This assault only gets faster as he keeps speeding towards the calculated glyphs he placed. Each ice sword shattering and quickly replaced by another until all off them are used and the Gigas brought to its knees.
Nick:*winded* twenty eight ice blades...*huff* and one real blade. Personally, I hate odd numbers.
All the ice glyphs merge underneath the Arma Gigas to form one giant to form one big one. The shattered ice swords form a giant one that stabs up right into it; immediately killing the grimm.
Nick:Piece....of......cake. *takes a knee* (I should really come up with a name for that move. Now is not the time for that though. Need to find Summer)
After a minute rest he heads out out the room with his snow gear back on. The only thing keeping him going is concern and the resilient aura he was blessed with. Not as crazy as his dad but it’s given him the second wind he’s needed many times in training. Finding his sister didn’t take as long as he thought; following the cold helped a lot. It led him to a door frozen shut.
Nick:Summer? You in here?*gripping his sword*
???:Don’t ask questions you already know the answers too little knight. Haven’t seen you in awhile. Let’s change that.*shatters the door*
The chill of death surrounds him fast as hand pulls him into the room and pins him to the ground. He takes notices of the Arma gigas slowly dying as it lays on ice spikes. Poor thing never stood a chance. Not against his sister the way she was now. Confident and dangerous to everything around her; including herself. All because of accident years ago by a stupid five year old version of himself that couldn’t keep his cool.
Nick:Summer you-
???:Don’t talk to her, talk to me. Make that mistake again and I might just have to give you a scar that matches dear old mommy as a reminder.
Nick:Shiva.....don’t do this.
Shiva:Do what? Be perfect in every way possible? Not my fault Summer is pathetic. If she doesn’t want me here then maybe she should’ve been strong enough to keep me contain.
Nick:Talk bad about my sister again and I’ll beat you until you’re too weak to keep control.
Shiva:Tough talk for a worm that’s on the ground. Maybe you should learn who you’re dealing with again. *grabs his sword* I’ll make sure not to blind yo- *hands begin to shake*
Nick:Is someone losing control already? Maybe you’re not as in control as you think, or maybe it’s the body heat and hand warmers I stuffed my jacket with.
Shiva:You what!?
His sword falls out of her hands and she tries getting up quickly. Nicholas doesn’t give her the chance and tackles her with his jacket open. Essentially preventing a long fight before it even began as he already feels her getting weak. Summer’s hair and eyes slowly becoming normal again.
Shiva:Damnit, I’ll be more careful next time.... better count your lucky stars.
Nick:There is no next time.
Shiva:Ha....you’ve.....said that.....before....... *exhales*
Nick:Summer? You here or do I have to keep aggressively hugging you?
Summer:*crying and hugging him* I’m here but don’t stop anyways....
Nick:Phew....Hey stop with the water works. I’m fine, we’re fine.
Summer:I....couldn’t keep control.
Nick:Maybe one day, just not today. *gives her his jacket* let’s go home okay? Final exam completed.
Summer:I’m a step behind you as usual it seems. Once again you rescued me.
Nick:That’s what siblings do. Also, there’s no way you’re behind me. *puts her on his back* because I don’t move forward without you. Shiva or not, you’ve gotten your target killed. We’ll just leave how exactly out of the story when we get back. *starts walking*
Summer:......
Nick:......A pair stuck together that on closer inspection is slightly different. Yet also extremely similar. Such a beautiful phenomenon is......
Summer:A twin snowflake. Next time....I’ll be stronger. *hold on tight*
Nick:*smiles* Yeah.....we both will.

GOT7 as a Boyfriend based off their Zodiac Sign
Jinyoung | Jackson | Yugyeom | Jaebum | Mark | Youngjae | Bambam |
All in good fun based off their signs & their behaviors/quotes! Don’t take it too serious!
Jaebum: Capricorn
Traits that match with sign:
Work ethic - a Capricorn’s career is IMPORTANT they are alllllllllllllll about working hard & making that money.
They are super passionate on whatever they do - which includes their job as one of their main priorities
“I want to date someone who is very understanding of the work I do.” - Jaebum quote from a JJP interview in 2017 (in other words someone who knows that his work comes first and he will be away a lot and put a lot into it no matter what whether you like it or not -this is a nonnegotiable deal breaker for most Capricorns
That being said...they put this kind of focus and devotion to all of the important things in their lives. So if they love you and choose to make you a priority they REALLY love you and will be as attentive as possible and be there for you - LOYAL AF if they actually commit for you (which is rare honestly)
They will also be super attracted to a female with the same sense of work ethic and ambition/drive
Lowkey the kind of dudes that ghost and pop back in every few months - mostly cause whenever their work or other priorities get busy they are too focused to spend time on anything else really & just forget about other less concrete things
The type who will occasionally forget or cancel a date- BUT will always make it up to you with an amazing date (usually out of the blue to surprise you!)
The type who will let you do most of the talking and just stare and admire you, with a very smiley face 😍 (best way to tell if a Capricorn likes you is to gauge how they look at you during a convo, if you’ve got their FULL attention eyes beaming and lips in a smirk of some kind - they are HELLA INTO YOU
Super masculine energy but a TOTAL softy, silly & mushy once you get past the surface
Studio dates (which may be more fun for him than you lol) more in 18+
Whenever he has time, he wants to spend it with you no matter what.
Totally down to go run errands with you so long as it’s time spent together - you can take this man shopping, he’ll sit quietly while you study, etc. He just wants to be near you. You are his home.
Will do anything for you.
“I want to take her where she wants to go. I would like to do anything she wants. even if she wants me to take her to a formal dinner that requires me wearing a suit.” - Jaebum on his ideal date
Will cook for you, clean up for you to surprise you, always holds doors open for you, and loves to take care of you and make sure you’re taking care of yourself when he’s not around to.
One of the RARE men who actually are capable of and enjoy planning dates and stuff for you - feels super comfortable taking charge in most situations
Knows EVERYTHING about you but will keep it in, you’ll notice it in little things he says or does that proves how much he pays attention to you
Now for the 18+ traits:
Dom - does not like his masculinity fucked with
However- he will still allow you to take control from time to time (briefly) but he’s still gotta feel like he’s overall still in control
Sex with him is an experience - it’s deeply intimate to him so he’s super comfortable with you if he’s doing it with you. It will go from sensual to kinky and probably switch back and forth between those often bc he loves both
Definitely a moaner (and God is it a beautiful sound) - high pitched when he’s receiving oral
The type to smile during sex - often
STUDIO SEX
Will want to taste as much of you as possible and he will tell you just how much he loves the way you taste usually with a big smirk on his face
Will totally striptease for you if you ask (starting off smiling and giggling but will go into bombshell mode when he sees you getting into it)
Loves to show you off - you are his trophy (Lowkey a kink of his) He feels so proud of how beautiful and special you are. Allows others to look but GOD HELP THEM IF THEY DO ANYTHING MORE
Major tease - usually playfully unless he’s feeling extra dom than he’ll say filthy things with a smirk and enjoy watching your reactions
Will be rough with you if you’re into it but only up to a certain point he doesn’t EVER want to actually hurt you (will remove his rings before ever spanking you, will never choke you too hard, etc.)
Turn ons:
Your moans
Your body against his, especially if there’s a big height/size diff he’ll find it SOOO precious
Watching you twitch and tremble, especially at the climax
Scratches on his back
He has said his ideal type is someone with a lots of aegyo - but doesn’t seem to be too picky it’s more of an individual thing for him: “Anything is fine as long as it suits her, even if her hair is short like mine.”
You with no makeup on - fresh out the shower or having just woken up in the morning
MORNING SEX
Shower/Post shower sex
Staring at your boobs during sex & putting them in his mouth
Also loves your legs and butt too
Seeing you dressed in all different ways (casual, dressy, traditional clothes, lingerie, etc. - loves it all)
Holding you down and rolling his body/hips against you
Neck kisses
Sloppy tongue-filled makeouts during sex
When you compliment him and make him feel like he’s the only man in the world, especially little stuff out of the blue/in public
When you wear his clothes/shirts
YOUR SMILE - he loves yours as much as you love his

hello logan, i was wondering if we could get your opinion on our newly revamped rpg? thank you in advance and i hope you're staying safe!
Hi!! Thank you so much, I certainly am and I hope you all are too!! You absolutely can have an opinion, and I hope this helps you guys!!
Please keep in mind that this is all just my personal opinion; none of this is meant to come off as overly critical, offensive, or rude. This is meant to be used as helpful advice that may or may not be used to help your rp. I wish you the best of luck with your group!! You may find my thoughts below under the cut.
GRAPHICS (icon, admin graphics, etc.)
I think your graphics are super cute and fit very well with the setting of the rp. I really like the consistency between them all and how they all match the color scheme you’re going with.
PLOT
I really love how this was written out so it addresses the reader. I feel like that’s such a great way to draw someone immediately into a plot and I know I was intrigued immediately. I think this sounds like a great story to work with for your group with plenty of action for everyone to work with. I find your plot to be well written and I appreciate the summary at the end.
RULES
To me, I think your rules are pretty straightforward and you’ve covered all the basics. I personally think you might want to consider specifying the limit of “underage” in your rules as different countries do have different “legal ages,” (i.e., in the UK it’s 16, but in the US it’s 18) just to avoid any confusion, but that’s entirely up to you.
I did notice you had a credit link for your promo template at the very bottom of your rules page, which feels a bit out of place to me. I’d definitely recommend creating a separate page for “credits” where you can have that if you’d like to give credit for the resources you use.
APP
This looks pretty simple and clear cut. I see a lot of appless and semi appless rps are taking over lately compared to full on app rps, but I do enjoy seeing extra things in the application like you guys included. As an admin myself reviewing apps, I like seeing snippets of what the character feels like before they’re accepted into the group.
OTHER PAGES
I love when rps add little world building pages to define the group’s setting and I think you guys have done a great job with that! It really shows you’re passionate about the group. The locations page is minimalistic yet very informative and aesthetically pleasing. Same for the lore page; it’s very organized and I love all the helpful information you’ve provided for each species. It really gives a lot for players to work with.
THEME / ACCESSIBILITY
I’ll be honest, I’m usually not a big fan of these contained “aesthetic” themes that have become so popular lately, but I like yours. I find your color scheme to be pleasing and easy on the eyes while also matching the overall rp theme, and as a designer, I love how it’s consistent throughout all your pages. The text is at a good size and readable which I like since I already have terrible eyes, so the less strain to try and read your pages the better. Your navigation page is simple but easy to use and I had an easy time looking for everything.
There is one very small thing I want to mention about your links though. I noticed you seem to have two navigation pages (link 003 and 004) and your plot isn’t immediately linked in this section. I’m personally of the opinion that an rp main should have the plot, rules, navigation, and application pages immediately available for viewer access (or at least just the plot and navigation if you can’t fit more links on your sidebar). This doesn’t seem to be a deal breaker, but if you can, I’d definitely recommend doing a little reworking on these links so you have your plot linked as 003 for quick access to show what your group is about instead of the full navigation there. Then maybe use that pop up "mini navi” in link 004 to feature your most important pages (which I think for you guys are: plot, rules, full navi, app, lore, locations).
OVERALL
I think you’ve done a great job with the main page and putting everything together. This looks like such a lovely group to join if you enjoy supernatural and high school rps and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone interested. Good luck with the revamp!!

Giving In (Bryce X MC)
Book: Open Heart
Pairing: Dr. Bryce Lahela X MC (Dr. Charlie Hawkins)
Rating: 18+/Erotica
Summary: Charlie thinks she just wants to be friends with benefits but Bryce wants more. Will Charlie give in?
Word Count: 2019
Charlie feels a hand slip into the back pocket of her scrub pants and give her a squeeze as she stands at the nurses station reading through charts. She turns to see who it is, but she already knows. "Dr. Lahela, I'm not sure that's appropriate workplace behavior. I may need to have a chat with HR."
Bryce scans the area and drops his voice low. "Make sure to tell them about the time you jumped me in the supply closet on our first day, and when we made and while spying on Dr. Ramsey and Dr. Banerji, and-"
"Shh!" Charlie presses a finger to his lips. "I suppose I walked right into that, but now you are making me wish I had time to sneak away with you to violate the employee code of conduct again."
Bryce shakes his head. "Dr. Hawkins, I'm beginning to think you only want me for my body."
"Can you blame me?" Her gaze sweeps over him from head to toe. Even in his hospital issued surgical scrubs, he always seems to look like some hot model who stepped off the pages of a surfing magazine.
Bryce's face falls momentarily before his ever present smile reappears. "Let's go out, Charlie. On a real date."
They haven’t discussed the terms, but this is supposed to just be a casual thing, at least as far as Charlie is concerned. "It's not like we haven't ever. We saw that band the one time and then hung out at my housewarming party."
"The party doesn't really count," Bryce argues.
"I let you sleep in my bed!" Which Charlie worried in the morning had been a mistake. Sleepovers are a couple-y thing and they are not a couple.
Bryce shakes his head. “So back to the issue at hand, how does tomorrow night sound. You are off, right?”
“Actually, I picked up a shift for Landry, and I’m just super busy this week, but maybe tonight after our shifts I could come over to your place.” It would be easier to just leave his place than to have to kick Bryce out of hers.
“But it will be midnight by the time we get back. That doesn’t leave any time for any date-like activities.” Just then Bryce’s pager buzzes and he checks the screen. “I gotta run, but we’ll continue this discussion later.”
~~~~~
Charlie makes her way to the staff locker room after an extra long shift once again. It’s quiet at this off time as most of the outgoing shift has gone home and the night shift is already out on the floor, so she’s quite surprised to find a freshly showered Bryce inside, standing in his underwear.
“I’m getting a sense of deja vu here.” Charlie takes off her scrub top and moves to close the space between them. Up close she can tell that even the smell of his shampoo is reminiscent of the beach.
Bryce braces her hips, keeping a short distance between them. “Are you trying to seduce me so I’ll forget about our earlier conversation? Sorry, Charlie, but you are going to have to wine and dine me first if you want me to put out.”
Charlie chuckles. “When did you become such a prude?”
“Since I’ve noticed you keep trying to shut me out. The sex is great, incredible really, but I want to get to know you better. And I want you to like me for more than just my hands, and my mouth, and my-” Bryce shifts his eyes down towards the bulge in his boxer briefs.
“Oh, Bryce...” Charlie slides her arms around his waist and pulls him as close as he allows. “I like all of you.” She does, this isn’t a lie, but it’s also what scares her so much.
“Then show me. I’ll even meet you halfway and keep it simple. You can come by my place, get some takeout for dinner, watch a movie, talk...” Bryce waits eagerly for a reply.
“Well that doesn’t sound terrible, and I do get off at 7 tomorrow.”
“It’s a date!” Bryce flashes a big toothy grin. Charlie backs him up against the lockers and kisses him deeply. Bryce reciprocates briefly before pushing her away. “Save it for tomorrow.”
~~~~~
Charlie arrives at Bryce’s place shortly after 8pm. It’s an older building but well maintained and his decor is not far off from what she would have expected - simple, modern, dark colors. She's always caught of guard when she sees him in anything outside of his hospital attire, and she’s really liking the patterned light gray button-down and slim-fitting dark jeans on him. She watches his eyes roam over her juniper green belted shirt dress down to her tan booties and lets out a low whistle. “You look hot, Charlie.”
She smiles but waves him off. “You always say that.” She will admit her dress looks good on and she wore that color because she knows it brings out the green in her eyes.
“That’s because it’s always true.” Bryce kisses her on the cheek.
"Well, same to you. Even in your hospital issued scrubs.” Charlie takes in the scenery in more detail while Bryce takes her bag and sets it off the side. She notices the small kitchen table already set up with plates of sushi and wine glasses.
Bryce pulls out a chair for her. "Have a seat," he instructs before retrieving a bottle of white wine from the refrigerator. "I don't know much about wine, but they said this riesling pairs well with sushi."
"Riesling is one of my favorites, and I Iove sushi." She takes a sip of the crisp, fruity wine after Bryce pours her a glass. "Mmm. It's perfect." They chat about their days as they eat and work their way towards deeper conversation.
“I have a very serious and important question for you,” Bryce announces.
“Okay...” Charlie nervously fiddles with the napkin on her lap.
“Cat or dog person?”
Charlie lets a laugh but thoughtfully considers her answer. “I like cats well enough, but I’m definitely a dog person.”
“Whew!” Bryce pretends to wipe sweat of his brow. ”If you would have said you hated dogs, it would have been a deal breaker.” His tone is serious but there’s a hint of a smile on his lips.
“So a dog is a requirement of yours?” How is he tricking her into talking about the future?
“I know my schedule doesn’t allow for me to have the time for one now,” Bryce laments, “but eventually, yes. I always had dogs growing up.”
“Me, too! My parents still have our beagle, Max we got when I was in high school. I kind of miss being jumped up on with slobbery kisses every time I come home.”
“I could make that happen for you.”
Charlie rolls her eyes. “Very funny, Bryce. Maybe that’s why your ex called you a golden retriever.”
“Ouch,” Bryce crosses his hands over his heart. “Moving on. Ready to watch a movie?”
They settle the couch and Bryce makes a selection. “Is this okay?”
“A Star is Born,” Charlie observed. “Interesting choice.”
“Did you see Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga at the Oscars? Their chemistry was on fire. I want to see what that’s all about.”
“You are full of surprises, Bryce. I wouldn’t have pegged you for the type to watch the Oscars.”
“Oh, I didn’t,” Bryce admits. “I just saw it trending on Twitter."
"Wait!" Charlie picks up her phone and opens up Twitter. "Don't tell me your profile picture is you in your scrubs and a surgical cap." She types in "Dr. Lahela" because she can picture the whole setup and sure enough, the first thing that pops up is his picture just as she described. "You have quite a following Dr. Lahela." She scrolls down and reads some comments on his posts. "Dr. Sexy...You can operate on me any day...Woah, I'm not reading that one out loud."
Bryce grabs her phone and hides it behind one of the couch pillows. "And what about you? Probably too cool for Twitter and would rather go for the artsy aesthetic if Instagram. I bet you have something like a photo of a pretty sunset you took on vacation as your profile picture and a private account so you can be selective who you let in." He appears to type a couple different names to try before he pulls up a private account and flips the screen to show her. "Am I right?"
Charlie instantly recognizes the photo from her trip to Costa Rica. "You were so far off. It's a waterfall, not a sunset. She swipes the phone out of his hand and tosses it on a nearby chair."
"Hey, I was going to request to follow you, Charlotte!"
Charlie raises an eyebrow. “Bold of you to assume I would accept your request.” She dives to retrieve her phone behind Bryce’s back but he grabs her wrists before she can get there.
“You don’t need that anymore tonight.”
“What if the hospital calls?”
“Is your ringer on?” Bryce asks and she nods in response. “Then you don’t need to worry about it. She’s hovering over him and he relaxes his hold so she sinks further onto him, their lips not far apart. “Kiss me, Charlie.”
“What about the movie?” It’s the last thing on her mind right now, but it was his idea.
“You and I both know we would have made it 15-20 minutes tops before we got to this point. No need to delay the inevitable any further, but I do have one condition.” The way he’s looking at her, she knows you won’t be able to say no. “You’re going to stay the night with me, and I’m going to make you breakfast in the morning.”
“You drive a hard bargain, Dr. Lahela.” She leans in and kisses him slow and deep as he releases his grip to untie her belt. The work at removing each other’s clothes piece by piece with kisses in between. “What now?”
“I want you to fuck me, just like this.” Bryce hands her a foil packet and she unrolls it onto his hard length. Straddling his hips, she guides him into her, lowering herself unhurriedly so she can feel every inch. “Fuck you’re so wet, Charlie.”
Bryce reaches up and caresses her breasts as she rides him. He circles her nipples with his thumbs and then tweaks them just hard enough, sending and intense jolt of pleasure straight to her core. She presses her palms against the hard planes of his sculpted, adjusted her angle so her clit is rubbing against him and he’s filling her completely. “Oh my god, Bryce, you feel so good.”
“You’re fucking incredible, Charlie.” Bryce rises to meet her lips and lies back down as she moves atop him faster and faster, pressure building until her dam’s about to burst
Bryce bucks his hip,moving in time with her and suddenly she’s seeing stars as her walls pulse around his cock. “Oh fuck, yes!” she cries out as feeling of euphoria washes over her.
Bryce grabs her ass and pulls her against him as he thrusts up into her. “Fuck me harder, Charlie. I’m so close.” She does as instructed and not long after he lets out a strangled moan as he cums inside her.
Charlie collapses against his chest, resting there while they both catch their breath. “Ready to head to the bedroom?” Bryce asks, sweeping messy strands of hair from her face.
“Are you tired out already?” Charlie teases, looking up to meet his gaze.
Bryce smirks.”Not yet, but after round two, you won’t be able to move.”
~~~~~
Charlie wakes up to sun peaking through the curtains and quickly remembers she’s in Bryce’s bed. He’s snuggled up against her back side, his arm draped over her, still sleeping soundly. She hadn’t been sure how she would feel this morning, but it wasn’t this. As much as it scares her, It feels perfect, like this is exactly where she wants to be.
pov rp: i try to wink at u but i close both eyes like jinsoul in this gif <3 SBJDWBDJWBDJ hello im xan im 22 & from the est timezone i use she / her pronouns & ur watching disney channel. is this super late ? yea...but thats super on brand for me its fine its fun its sexy so * jugkook vc* let’s get it !
— jung jinsoul. she/her. cis female. | was that niko seo i just saw in the hideaway lobby ? i hear the twenty-two year old spends most of their time working as a waitress, but i’ve always just seen them scribbling poetry on napkins. they live in 3A and i often see them in the halls. they always give me a vibe of making wishes on falling stars, silk ribbons adorning messy ponytails, and breakfast at midnight.
BACKSTORY
so miss niko was born in a teeny tiny suburban town in north carolina to a pair of young high school sweethearts ! unfortunately her mom passed away during childbirth so it was a very bittersweet arrival into the world for baby niko
her dad was a mechanic who never made it to college since his girlfriend got pregnant towards the end of their senior year. they got married before niko was born though because they were pretty serious abt raising her right but they never really got the chance to /: but her dad loved his job he loved working with cars & it was something his own dad did before him plus it was a job the town really valued since it was so tiny ( u really only needed one of everything )
when i say tiny i mean everyone knows everyone tiny. growing up the town kinda pitied niko bc of her mom dying so to compensate everyone kinda tried to do their part in raising her ! her neighbors were just as much of a parent to her as her own dad was, and everyone had stories abt her mom so niko kinda appreciated how small the town was.....sometimes
that changed as she got older ! when she started high school her dad kinda entered a rough patch & started drinking more with his buddies, started working less, and niko started getting calls from the sheriff at 2 am like “hey we’re gonna keep ur dad for the night he didnt do anything crazy but he got a little too drunk u can pick him up tomorrow” sort of thing
she was there for him every time but it got kinda overwhelming knowing everyone was in her family's business & how much kids would gossip at school or adults would give her sad looks
basically she kinda just....became very disillusioned with her reality & began to realize no one around her was really.....happy or had big dreams and their entire lives revolved around this tiny town which scared her
but also ? it had started becoming her life, too. she was voted prom queen senior year, she had a job at a diner where the same people ate everyday, she’d been dating the same boy for four years and everyone talked about how they’d probably get married soon. she’d become exactly like everyone else without even realizing it....she didnt have some big dream.....she didnt even have plans for college she was just so stuck
and then disaster hit the summer after she graduated high school. her dad had crashed right into a tree on a rainy night trying to drive home after a night out drinking & died on impact. the news honestly didnt feel real to her until her grandparents were helping her clear out her house so she could come move in with them
which is when she finds her mom’s old diary ! and boy was that thing . fat & juicy ... it had all four years worth of her mom’s high school years inside and niko became ...obsessed with it. all she did that summer her dad died was read her mom’s old diary learning more abt the woman from those pages than she ever had from the mouths of everyone in her town
thats how she found out her mom had always dreamed of moving to some city like seattle and starting this new life once she found out she was pregnant with niko ! so niko was like ok this has to be a sign....told her grandparents she loved them but she couldnt stay in north carolina.....and boop ! she pretty much disappeared from the town, didnt tie up any lose ends ( including her bf of four years who she was kinda engaged to ? JSDBJBDJ ) because she just had to leave that bad.
cue a scene on bus with niko looking out the window as some dramatic song abt new beginnings plays . JSDBJSBDJW seattle was truly her new start at 18 ... and all she wanted to do was just ... reinvent herself
so she did ! first thing she did was get a job as a waitress bc uh ur girl was BROKE broke but she knew she was good at serving. the first year was.....pretty rough there’s no sugar coating it niko was struggling bad, probably living in some questionable apartment when she wasnt coach hopping at her coworker’s places. despite all this she was....insanely happy she really believed ( and still does ) seattle is magic !
she was working at a diner ironically, just like she had been back home, but this diner changed her life about a two years ago. one day one of her regulars ( a very well off lawyer who worked downtown ) told her she was way too pretty and charming to be serving at a place like this & that he had a buddy who owned an upscale restaurant near his job downtown & that he could probably get niko a job there if she wanted
so she was like UH hell yes....showed up the next day at this fancy restaurant, charmed the pants off the owner, and the rest ? is history ! she moved into hideaways a bit after getting this new job & has been there ever since <3
PERSONALITY + TIDBITS
personality wise niko is kinda ....hard to figure out. she doesnt do it on purpose, she’s just still learning about who she is and what she really wants. back home in north carolina she was kind of the small town golden girl, loved by everyone type of deal but also very romanticized by those around her ??? ppl thought she was brilliant and knew so much about everything when the truth was she just knew a little about a lot. she would read to escape the suburban boredom of her reality & took a special interest in things like art and poetry and astronomy. shes the type to want to share the stuff she’s learned with those around her
in seattle since no one knew her the way they did back home, niko decided she wanted to keep it that way. because of this and because shes so hesitant to talk about her family sometimes she can come across as mysterious but she’s a surprisingly open person !! she’s naturally super curious and friendly and she’s found it really helps to be the kind of person people want to get to know and trust when working in the service industry. she’s got the type of aura about her that makes you feel as if maybe you’ve known her forever, even if she’s only told you one thing about herself ( which is often the case) . can probably make anyone feel at home within five minutes of talking to her & you won’t even realize how she’s doing it. her boss swears she’s charming enough to sell honey to a bee !
she’s also got a flighty side though that comes out when you get too close. niko’s great at relationships when they aren’t deep, but the moment you start and figure her out and see past the smiley walls she’s got up she recoils fast. in a way she’s terrified of anyone knowing too much about her because she’s scared that once they do they’ll pity her, and niko can’t stand being pitied. she’s also super good at dishing out affection but not so good at receiving it. the type to fall in love then right back out of love in one day. kinda a heart breaker bc of this but she doesn't mean to be, she just gets infatuated kinda easily & isn’t very good at keeping things serious ever since literally running away from her long-time ex in north carolina JSBCSJBDJW
some fun facts: she wants to get a cat and name it cat so bad but she’s not sure she’d be a good pet mom so she just settles for petting stray cats in public. 100% that weirdo crouching in the street making kissy noises because she saw a cat and wants to pet it. she can name just about every constellation & loves to sit outside and look at the stars on clear nights, usually while smoking a joint . she’s a hardcore lightweight .... im talking one tequila shot and she’s floored ... two glasses of wine and she’s taking her top off then crying kinda deal like she CANNOT handle her liquor so she tries to keep partying to a minimum. she’s got a collection of napkins from work were people have scribbled their phone numbers onto as well as a collection of napkins niko herself has scribbled on. she mostly writes poems and sometimes she even leaves a napkin with a poem on it behind at a table like a little gift for whoever sits there next. she’s probably always writing poems for all her friends or infatuations so if you’re in her life....you’ve gotten one at some point !
the only thing she brought with her from north carolina were all her records. she’s got a pretty extensive collection that ranges from donna summer to louis armstrong to led zeppelin & when she finally got a record player of her own in seattle it was probably the best day of her life <3 she really likes to watch scary movies but also they scare her so bad so it’s a cycle of oh yes lets watch this.....fuck why did i do that.....im sleeping with the lights on rinse & repeat. she really likes to cook ! she learned at a pretty early age out of necessity but now she does it for her own pleasure also because of her growing interest / knowledge in the restaurant industry. her wardrobe is 95% thrifted and 5% stolen from miscellaneous people ( her dad, old boyfriends, hookups, friends, etc. ) is a notorious hoodie thief so dont lend her yours......
and this is WAY too long im.....so sorry this literally always happens aha <3 yes i ramble but thats bc . i have a lot to say and i also have a lot of love to give ! spare some plots ? we can im on tumblr but i am 100% easier to reach on discord @ EL i love u 💖✨🌙#8172 so hit me up there & lets get this show on the road baby !
#╰ ♡ . 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒅𝒖𝒎𝒃 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒔𝒔 ── ooc !#lets not talk abt how long or late this is .... x#JDSBJBDJWBJDW i got carried away perhaps didnt even wanna start adding wanted connections this is already so much 2 read </3#niko is.....my baby im so excited for her and so excited for this rp so plot with me perhaps ? hehe...#hide.intro
okay so your answer about the coping mechanisms and how they've figured it out but it took a lot of fights to get there (100% agree) made me suddenly want to ask about the angsty relationship asks. but not all of them, if you don't want, just the first 10-15 or whatever. :)
Had to break out my laptop and glasses for this one.
1. do they have a lot of arguments? if so, over what?
They don’t argue a lot most of the time. Once they start though it seems like it’s one thing on top of the next. Neither mean to do it, but they both tend to keep score. Their fights always spiral into past mistakes and arguments etc.
2. who apologizes first? in what way? is it hard for either of them to apologize?
Not in the beginning, but once they’re comfortable and settled: Emily apologizes with words. Andy apologizes in actions. Andy doesn’t like admitting that she’s wrong. Emily always apologizes first because of her own insecurities.
3. which one has more insecurities? over what?
Emily does. Andy has a good supportive family so even when she struggles she has a strong foundation. Emily has been on her own for a while now. Both family wise and friend wise. She has very little faith that she can make a relationship work. It’s not just relationship insecurities though. She has a lot of insecurities about herself in general too.
4. who gets more riled up? do they show their anger?
I think they’re both pretty fiery and would have no qualms about getting into a yelling match. As far as showing their anger... I’d rather not think about this. I think Emily would be more passive aggressive though and I’ll leave it at that.
5. how do they hide their pain when they’re upset? do they try to hide their pain?
Andy is pretty open about her feelings and not afraid to show them. She trusts Emily and because of that, it’s easier to just be hurt or upset in front of her. Emily is a little more guarded. She tries too hard to mask what she’s feeling. This always leads to her not being able to hide it at all. She can handle stress well enough, but if she’s truly hurt... she just can’t fake that.
6. who tries to make up first? does it work?
It depends on the fight. Andy is reluctant to ever admit she’s wrong, but when she does she goes big on the make ups. They usually work, because she’s genuinely sincere when it comes to them. The rest of the time it’s Emily. When they fight Emily’s first goal is to stop the anger. She wants to be able to talk about things or ignore them, but she hates fighting. Sometimes she makes up too much. She apologizes for things that aren’t her fault etc. Anything to just get them moving forward. Andy doesn’t always notice this, but when she does she doubles her efforts to make things right.
7. would they hate-fuck if they were mad at one another? if they had a falling out?
I wanna say yes because that would be hot. But I don’t think so.
8. do they hold grudges? is it hard for them to let go/forgive each other?
Andy holds grudges like there’s no tomorrow. She hates that she’s like that, but once you mess up it’s hard for her to let go of that. Emily doesn’t hold grudges as much. She just gets resentful. She especially can’t stand when there’s a double standard. There’s pretty much a running list in her head of every fight and transgression they’ve had.
9. is there something big that could potentially tear them apart if it was revealed?
I don’t think either of them would handle the other cheating very well, but I think even that they could work through.
10. if something already happened to tear them apart, what would make them come back together? is it even possible?
Let’s assume this something is Miranda? They just genuinely like each other. Despite being pitted against each other, they want to get to know one another better. And hell, if they can survive that then very little will break their bond.
11. what’s their favorite pass time when they’re upset?
Andy works on anything and everything. If there isn’t work to do she cleans. Emily likes to get in the tub, super hot water, maybe cry a bit. They both like walking and/or driving around aimlessly. If they’re not upset at each other than cuddles, handholding, etc. On the rare occasion, she does get really emotional and upset, Emily has been known once or twice to sit in Andy’s lap, straddling her and just cling to her, face buried in her shoulder and cry. Andy, on the other hand, likes to be in bed and held. She wants to be the little spoon though because when she’s upset and feeling vulnerable she doesn’t like being totally exposed.
12. who do they confide in when 💩 hits the fan (besides each other)?
Since this is a very limited “world” let’s say Emily and Andy both look to Nigel for advice. He hates it and mostly just lets them talk themselves into figuring things out. He has zero interest in getting into the middle of things. Emily also talks to Serena. Andy talks to Lily.
13. is it hard for them to talk about their feelings openly with each other? if so, is there any way that can be resolved, even in the slightest?
Not usually, unless it’s a big problem between them. LIttle stuff they can handle. They talk about their feelings pretty openly when it comes to outside stuff too. Things can always be resolved with these two, but it might take time. Andy has been in failed relationships before but has never been truly devastated. Emily has been, and because of that, she takes things very slowly. Once they're together that’s it for her though. She works through things. She doesn’t give up.
14. who grieves more when the other is away?
Emily because she’s been alone longer. Now that she has someone, she never wants them to be gone. Andy is pouty and sad when Emily is gone, but it isn’t heavy.
15. who misses the other more, or really thinks about them more?
Andy thinks about Emily way more. Emily is good at compartmentalizing, so she can focus on things without constantly getting wrapped up in thoughts of Andy. However, sometimes it catches her off guard and Andy pops into her head and she just gets the whole goofy first crush vibe. She loves it, even if she’d never admit it.
16. do either of them have a special item (an article of clothing, a necklace, a ) that they use when they miss the other? if so, what is it? what do they do with it (read, wear, look at, smell)?
Emily has lots of comfort books. Getting lost in books makes it easier to forget about how much time has passed or how much longer she has to wait. Andy snaps photos of Emily all the time when the other girl isn’t paying attention. She likes to scroll through them when she’s missing her. There’s a lot of good ones, and she’s kept most of them for herself and no one else has seen them.
17. who cries more? who gets more emotional in general?
Most of the time it’s Andy. She doesn’t cry much, but she does get emotional. Emily doesn’t fall apart often, but when she does it’s a lot. She’s also the one that cries through movies, holiday commercials, certain songs on the radio, etc.
18. do either of them have the other’s stuff lying around their 🏠?
Both, definitely. Despite having the bigger apartment, Emily spends a lot of time at Andy’s. They eventually move in together at Emily’s, but the first few months they spend more time at Andy’s. It might actually be a while before Emily even lets her see her place.
19. how about teasing? do they tease each other while in a fight (whether it be with themselves or just general teasing)?
this one has me stumped...
20. do either of them have any vices?
Emily’s vice is definitely chocolate. Andy... bad tv? maybe reality tv? Which Emily hates.
21. what’s the thing they miss most about each other?
Have a safe place they can let their guard down and just be themselves.
22. what’s their go-to breakup/angst song?
Okay, I’m stealing this one from a real-life thing... but it’s “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge. Because even when they’re fighting they know that they can get through it.
23. who’s more jealous?
Emily!
24. who is the first to forgive?
Andy. Once she does forgive it’s real. It may take a lot to get there though. Emily has a tendency to make Andy work for forgiveness--mainly an insecurity testing kinda thing.
25. what’s the one deal breaker for either of them (lack of communication, fear of commitment, etc)?
lying
26. who would take longer to let go? do they ever really “let go”?
Andy. She never REALLY let’s go--even though she hates that about herself. Emily has taught her that the best way for someone like Andy to do this is to make new memories over the bad ones. If they fight or something bad happens... they find a way to overlap that memory with something positive.
27. which is more 😨 of confrontation?
It depends on the fight. Andy is scared if she thinks Emily is gonna lose her shit. Emily is scared if she thinks she might really lose Andy.
28. who’s the first to distance themselves (if either)?
They both do it for different reasons. Emily distances herself if she thinks she’s about to be hurt. Andy distances herself if she thinks she’s going to say something to hurt Emily.
29. who’s more patient? is it hard to break that patience
Andy is more patient. It takes a LOT to break it.
30. who’s the first to blame themselves?
Emily. She’s insecure. There’s probably some backstory here that I’m building up, but idk what that is just yet.
31. who’s more likely to do something out of spite?
Emily. She hates herself for it, but she’s been trapped in the Runway lifestyle for so long that it just happens sometimes without her even thinking about it. She would NEVER truly sabotage or hurt someone though.
32. who would be the first to say they hate the other? would they mean it?
Emily. Not at all.
33. who worries more?
Emily worries ALL the time, but it’s just the way she functions. Andy is the one that worries about the more serious things. She also is affected by it more because she only worries when there’s something big.
34. what scent reminds them of the other?
The smell of rain reminds Andy of Emily. Emily thinks of Andy when she smells certain perfumes because Nigel is always giving her new things to try. Most of the stuff Emily already knows, but she swears it smells different on Andy
35. do they have any regrets (regarding the other, or just in general)?
They both mainly just regret how easily manipulated they were by Miranda. They regret not standing up for themselves and each other more. Emily has a lot of regrets about how she’s spent her life.
36. who’s quicker to walk away if a situation gets heated?
Andy. She bolts. Emily has times when she gives Andy the silent treatment, but she doesn’t walk away.
37. who is more prone to anger?
Emily is more prone to quick anger. Andy is more prone to lingering anger.
38. who cries more in an argument? do either of them 😭?
Emily. She cries any time things get super emotional.
39. does it take a lot for it to get to the point of yelling?
No. They’re both pretty passionate, and while the situations may not come up often if things get serious so do they.
40. who sleeps on the 🛋️? can either of them 💤 without the other?
They struggle to sleep without each other. Emily hated sleeping together at first, but now she’s gotten used to it. When Andy is in bed with her, Emily is all sprawled out, half on top of her etc. If Andy isn’t there, Emily tends to curl up in a small ball and sleep like that. Andy sleeps okay if Emily isn’t there, but she always steals Emily’s pillow or something to hold onto.
41. who’s more likely to protect the other?
Emily can slay someone with words alone and would do so in the blink of an eye, but she knows Andy can stand on her own. Andy is protective over Emily in all ways. Whether Emily can defend herself or not, Andy is always there and ready to go.
42. if one of them gets injured, who worries more?
Emily keeps a calmer head because she goes into instant planning mode. She looks at the situation and figures out what she can do. Instantly, she’s making plans and directing things etc. Andy gets helpless when things go wrong so she worries more than anything. She kind of just shuts down and focusses on worry and fear.
43. who would be more 😨 of the other’s death/harm?
Equal
44. who ends up yelling first? are they always yelling when arguing, or do neither of them yell at all?
Emily raises her voice out of a need to be heard. Andy raises to match. They don’t usually yell though.
45. who would be more likely to save who?
It would really depend on the situation.
46. who stays up at night brooding?
Emily. She’s a night owl by nature. She’s just been conditioned to be a morning person.
47. who has more dreams/nightmares about the other?
Andy dreams a lot, but Emily has a lot of nightmares.
48. who comforts who after a bad dream/event?
Andy comforts Emily. She’s literally the only one Emily will allow to comfort her in any situation, but especially waking up scared.
49. do they think about each other a lot? does it affect their performance/schoolwork?
It definitely affects their work when they’re working together. The rest of the time things are pretty okay. Emily is generally too busy to stop and daydream, and Andy is usually far too invested and engaged in what she’s working on to daydream.
50. if one of them were to come back after a long time, who would come to who? would it go well? would the other person take them back?
This one is really hard. Only because I’m having some very strong feels about the second book... I’m going to say that Andy would come back to Emily. It wouldn’t go well at first. It would take a LOT of work on Andy’s part to get Emily back.
Sorry for how redundant some of these may seem. I feel like I kind of just kept saying the same things. Hopefully, it’s not disappointing.
What do we say?
Last evening I was privy to a conversation among comfortable friends who agreed that as we have explored the years north of age 50, some things become easier. Like saying “No thanks” to an invitation without a sense of obligation, justification, or apology. I am paraphrasing one of those friends who said:” I only have so much energy and I am careful how I spend it.” She’s nailed it. We can still do most of what we have always done, but now we build in recovery time; not just physically but emotionally and even spiritually. Most of us in the age 55-60 range will admit that we feel we’ve earned the privilege of making choices with more self-interest than we once might have. There is a great strength and a knowing comfort in having acknowledged this age and stage of self-awareness, the newer self-appreciation that allows us to quietly disengage.
Saying no isn’t limited to social engagements either; it also applies to a lack of interest, favours that come with strings attached, and most bullshit in general.It doesn’t mean we become unkind, we still find patience with one another’s fanciful whims and will step up in support whenever we are genuinely needed. We listen to one another’s secret fears and nod knowingly in authentic solidarity without the need to “fix” anything. We laugh outright at one another’s nonsense in a way that only friends can...gentle admonishments served with a heapin’ helpin’ of “ I love you you big turkey!”
Saying “No” comfortably marks a kind of rite of passage. I wonder then if the same is true of saying “Yes” ? Our self-definitions and our needs naturally alter over time: “I am a parent”, “I am a daughter”, “I am a spouse”, “I am (insert any culture, hobby, profession or livelihood here)”: “I am this sum of many parts.” “I am a work in progress.”
We not only say “yes” to saying “No”, we also are saying yes to time for ourselves, both recovery and self-indulgence. We say yes to travelling places we haven’t been before because there was no room for that opportunity while we were busy raising ourselves and others and all that entails. We say yes without guilt to asking for things for ourselves: “Honey I really need a couple of hours of downtime/a weekend away with the girls/ something to drive other than a Soccer Mom van. I’ll see you when I get back.” We need the people in our lives to acknowledge that we are still growing, still testing our limits, still curious and are finally taking time to play with all of that because we can.
My Beloved and I have undergone a journey over the last 18 months or so of figuring out what things that together or separately we are saying no and yes to. It has been in the hunt for a different kind of life, a quieter and simpler one, that we have discovered so much about what we don’t need anymore as well as those things that could be deal-breakers. We have said a resounding “yes” to purging our closets and our habits, sometimes because they are outworn and sometimes, to make room for new growth. A successful yard sale is one that means nothing you took out gets to come back in the house; if it doesn’t sell it gets donated, etc, which can feel like losing 200 pounds of ballast. We put half our stuff into storage in order to show and sell our home and we were amazed at how much lighter both we and the house itself felt. It was a bit unnerving at first to not have stacks of books on every shelf, momentos everywhere, and a chair in every corner, but boy, did it bring a lot of light into our spaces, both literal and figurative. We each had the opportunity to go through “stuff” and decide what was truly worth keeping. It opened our attitudes a little wider in terms of where we might like to find ourselves next. We dearly love our families and community but do we really need to stay in the city in order to keep them? We love the work that we do, but do we really need to keep doing it full-time when there are other interests that tempt our attention ?
Leaving a job to devote my full energies to painting and clearing an entire house was both wonderful and not, because it took away part of my self-definition. In conversation people invariably ask: “and what do you do for a living?” Right now, I don’t. And that’s all kinds of weird. I write in my spare time, but I don’t make a living at it so I can’t really call myself a Writer. My massage table is packed away into storage with most of our belongings because we thought we would have a new destination secured by now, so I am not a practitioner either. My Beloved is happy to have me doing all the background stuff while she luckily earns enough to keep us both, benefits and all. But right now we aren’t at “home” in the traditional sense. We define ourselves and our choices often by the company we keep, the employment we have and the place we live. When one or more of those key things become ambiguous, it presents a quandary about exactly what and even when to say yes or no. We have found ourselves fine-tuning the definition of what “home” means exactly.
Over 11 years we’ve talked about living much more simply and harmoniously with the land around us; producing most of what we consume, using the energies of our minds and bodies, hopefully staying healthy and independent within our means for as long as possible. 10 years ago, we were all prepared to reclaim a brown-space and build ourselves a green-run straw-bale cottage. We took courses, helped heave and plaster bales on other people’s builds and constantly modified our designs. As we got older, we looked into adaptive technologies; maybe taking an old building and greening it to be more efficient and sustainable; lower cost, less waste. We compared design/build features, studied geographic land values and took a hard look at our resources weighed against our respective ages and abilities. In the past 18 months we have looked seriously at several different options along the spectrum and missed out on several of them because they were contingent on the sale of our own little city house. But really, they haven’t turned out to be losses so much as lessons. Each place offered a different set of possibilities, and we know that between us, we can make almost anything work as long as the structural bones are good and the soil is clean. We’ve said “Yes” several different times. But the Universe seems to say “No, not yet”, even though each successive option brought us closer to our ideals.Once our city house finally sold, we quickly said “yes”, and changed it to a “no”; it the first place that came along and we were impatient to move on. We certainly could have made it work, but there were hidden costs we decided we could not say yes to without sacrificing part of what we’d learned we truly need. Most recently, we found a property we thought ticked the greatest number of boxes yet on our yes/no list, but one more time, it was not meant to be. Someone else got there first. We’ve come so close, a couple of times, only to find ourselves back again, still searching. There have been moments when it all feels quite personal though we know that it’s not. We know the pieces are bound to come together but the patience is hard.
At ages 58 and 53, we are blessed to have the luxury of saying yes or no. We are technically without a home though we have been made very welcome and comfortable at a friend’s house for as long as we need one. We have politely said “no” to people who’ve suggested we are crazy and should just let go of the dream. We have said “yes” to every creative idea presented to us, no matter how outlandish or daunting they might sound, because we have many loved ones who genuinely want to see us have a crack at making magic, and who very much want to come along for the ride. We’ve never felt like we were doing any of this in isolation. Our cheerleaders are just getting louder. The most resounding “yes” always comes from our own contemporaries who are also giving themselves permission to stretch and learn and say “yes” to their own dreams.
And while we continue our search, there are so many things to always say “yes” to: the company of old friends, the laughter of “I knew you when” and the communal dissecting of ourselves as 50-somethings who know damned well we are a long way from done. To the decent wines, and using the good china, to the shredding of old hurts and the letting go of mouldy baggage sitting too long in the back of the cupboard. We finally have the courage to bring the shadowy bits into the light and watch them dissolve as so much night mist, because that’s how unsubstantial they have become. We give away things we once treasured to someone we know will discover new joy in them. We make space to expand our perspective as we fine-tune our focus. We adjust our sails, knowing that the wind will change again anyway.
There is such beauty and such hope in the luscious and judicious use of the words “yes” and “no”. Say yes to tears of loss and longing, then dry them with another “yes” of new people and experiences. Say “no” to the obligation of events you don’t want to attend and “yes” to the ones you’ve always been curious about. Contradict yourself now and then, it certainly is humbling to get caught in your own clumsiness and have to regain your footing. “Oops” , and “oh well” also come in handy. We all fall. We get up, usually with a little help , and we just get on with it. Yes, yes we do.
I bought this iPad on July 18. Now less than 2 months later the battery will not hold a charge at all. It barely stays powered with it plugged into the charger. Online it says the return window is October 20th. When I try to return this, it says the window for return closed August 16th.
This is a waste of money and also misleading. Do not buy anything from this seller. Save your money instead.
Its refurbished so was just expecting it to work. The silver part is scratched showing that it must have been dropped at some point in its life. The battery that came with it is not an original iPad charger, it a blue weird looking charger and it doesn’t work. I will have to get a charger and see if it works to charge it. If the ipad charger i get from the apple store doesn’t work then the problem would be the ipad and i will return it.
Works as expected. No scratches, no complaints, except that the battery life is not as good as my old iPad Air 2. Not sure if it’s because it’s refurbished, or if it’s Apple’s fault. But not a deal breaker for me. Everything else works great.
So i ordered this being a bit sceptical considering the description being a bit inconsistent. It cam in a generic box with generic charger as written. ill probably end up buying an original charger by apple but so far it charges the ipad at a reasonable speed. the battery life itself seems ok clocking around 9 hours with light browsing and files+document+ editing documents, keeping notes for the full time. if left on standby it seems to last a couple of day+usage. the exterior/cosmetic condition is ok depending how picky you are about there things. no major scratches, some small harline ones around, a really small defect close to the camera, expected of a used item, but really not nonticeable unless you are looking for them. i would recommend this to anyone and for 399+no taxes its a pretty good deal for what you are getting. ill update this review in the next few months to see how it holds up.
For ne, I found with the Ipad they don’t come close to the Samsung tablet…the screen is not as clear as Samsung…and they want control what you download with their apps only…you can bypass their system but a pain in the butt. No offense I own Ipods, a Iphone and love them but they need to change their options on downloading apps.
10/10 condition! I was a little hesitant to buy a refurbished IPad (mostly because I know how many times I’ve dropped my iPhone ), but the iPad arrived in perfect condition. There are no scratches whatsoever, the battery life is pretty good considering it’s / years old, and the screen in like brand new. Very very very pleased with my purchase.
The only thing I would suggest to other customers is to go to Apple and buy the proper charger. A knock off charger comes with the iPad, and although it works it doesn’t have the right voltage to charge the iPad quickly. $25 bucks at Apple to get the right charger is well worth it.
I’m happy with my new iPad. I needed a Pro iPad to run a new app – Procreate – as far as durability, check back in 3 months. That is the extent of the warranty. From all that I have read, it’s ok to go with a refurbished iPad
I love my tablet and I use it everyday for school taking notes. Works great with my Apple Pencil. The one think I was disappointed in was the charger it came with which took a whole 12 hours to charge only up to 50-60% of the battery from 10-15%. But if you already have an apple charger it works good as new.
I was unsure about this when reading other reviews on here, but I need not have worried. Of course if you are still worried, remember if its not what you expected, its from Amazon and you can return it.
I own way too many Apple products, and a lot have been purchased from Apple either new or as an Apple Refurbished product. Apple Refurbished are indistinguishable from new to look at and that’s what make them so good.
So what is this one like? Well, I’ll tell you. It arrived in an Apple Refurbished box! Its a proper Apple refurb, at least the one I received is. So its perfect in every way. The same as new in actual quality as Apple put a new case and screen on all their refurbs. For this money, I’m not sure why you’d buy a new iPad or iPad Air when this one outperforms for less money, plus you get the Apple 1 year refurb warranty.
It arrives in a white Apple Refurbished box. You get a brand new Apple charger and Lightning cable included plus the little info pack. Basically you get the same stuff that you will find inside the box of a new iPad.
As I say, I personally can’t guarantee you will get an Apple Refurb, but if you do, its a total bargain.
I do recommend the JetTech smart case that can be bought for this model. It’s identical to the original Apple (nearly) and for a fraction of the price will keep your lovely nearly new iPad looking gorgeous!
Cardfight Vanguard G: Z turn 18 thoughts
Dawn of the Decisive Battle
By this title, it seems that Z is approaching the climax. Considering that it will end in April, it might have around 7 episodes left (without this one), so guess it’s a good choice to start already with the final battle. This is more like a prequel to it, though.
The North America Branch lives up to its name if it really can hold up the materialized ZRs. As long as the system keeps working. Hmm, interesting mention there.
I liked when the explosions went off and Kai is so calm about it. Guess everyone was expecting a flashy attack, so at this point nothing can startle them xD And it’s Darkface we’re talking about.
For once the good guys use this strategy. Normally the heroes enter the enemy’s base and they have to deal with all sorts of traps. It’s kind of refreshing to see it the other way around. Though, Chaos Breaker seems to enjoy himself.
This might seems kind of messed up, but Darkface is way too hilarious running around and throwing dynamites like that xD He even says “dokan”, which is an onomatopoeia for explosions xD
And when he found the computer and “injected” the virus xD I liked how he suddenly shifted from the angry voice.
Chaos Breaker is so chill. He doesn’t even bother to run. Just walks away when Aichi caught up with him. And then he is patiently waiting for Aichi and Kai to “corner” him. It’s almost like he was looking for the best spot to have a chat with them.
Good thing Aichi has figured out what’s up.
Pfff xD Darkface’s explosive entrance was funny, but Kamui kneeing him was even better xD
And when about to get trapped, he kicks out Kamui and grabs Misaki. He has to idea whom he’s messing with xD
We also find out why Kazumi was sent there. I must say, I didn’t think about that. Actually, I didn’t think Gyze will tag along to retrieve the ZRs. But they saw it coming, so Kazumi specifically went there in order to take him on. Which I’m glad they did.
Now, surely he won’t win this. The summaries for the upcoming episodes kind of confirm this as well. But if he really manages to bring out Kazuma’s conscience, then I’m satisfied. Also, let him use Drachma.
I was wondering why out of all people, Arata, Makoto and Misaki were handling the PC. Turns out that Chris taught the boys a few stuff. And, guess I shouldn’t be surprised about Misaki. She’s one of the smartest people around. That’s why Darkface grabbed her.
Also, this anime read my mind xD Because, when I watched the episode this morning:
Kamui: Is there anything I can do?!
Me: ... How about calling Chris?
Kamui: I know! I’ll call Chris!
Me: O_O
I love it when I think of something and then a character says it xD
So, Chaos Breaker summons a subspace of Relics. Guess we’ll find out later on what’s the deal with that.
And it will be a 2 vs 1 fight. Like how it was in the neon Messiah movie with Aichi and Kai vs Ibuki. You know, Arata and Makoto should have been there in this case. I know Kai mentioned earlier in this episode that they are not strong enough and that playing the support role is just as important. But he is the one who trained them. Indeed, Arata lost to Gredora, but now it was a good opportunity to show that he had learned something from that. There’s also the thing with Makoto. He was shown to be the most negative of the two. His loss early on against Arata, plus his opponent changing from Chaos Breaker to Arata when destroying Relics hinted that he might have an inferiority complex. This could have been a good opportunity to dive into that and make him overcome it. I’m sure Chaos Breaker would have noticed it and make the most use of this aspect. I don’t know...It seems more like a missed opportunity.
On the other hand, Chaos Breaker mentioning their history give me some hope about the fight. Mainly because of Link Joker-hen references and establishing some connections between that and what’s happening now.
Well well, at least Darkface admits that he is an oddball. And he was so touched that Gredora accepted him like that. Ok, but she is his mother. It’s natural that she would do that. Gredora does have her sadistic side, but she showed that her children are important to her. And not just as powerful soldiers. Interesting that he also imagines her in Gaily’s body. Now I’d like to see how her and Wakamizu would interact with each other.
We also get some insight on Misaki’s motivation. Which is a nice simple reason. Hmm, with all the talk about the new generation, I started to think that showing Misaki with her younger self doesn’t really convey that. It might have been better if they put Tokoha there, for example, since Misaki was like a mentor to her during GIRS Crisis.
I loved this part. Darkface was so convinced that he trapped her into a corner, but when she discarded the card as cost for the PG, not so much xD
This fight had a bit of a throwback to the early Genesis. I kind of like the new Minerva and the G guard.
Ok, so Chris got rid of the virus. And it seems he holds no grudge against Wakamizu. Well, it wasn’t technically him who blew up his research facility, so yeah.
Handa’s movements are really strange though...
First Dumjid, then Valeos (kind of) and now Darkface curses everyone before returning to Cray...It might be just because they are sore losers and not have any effect whatsoever, but what if this will actually end up hindering the heroes in some way.
The post-ending scene reveals that there’s a disturbance similar to the one summoned by Chaos Breaker near Earth. We know that’s related to Relics, which is quite worrying, considering that they still have something in store for it.
Guess it will be explained in the next episode. Also, Aichi and Kai vs Chaos breaker should be exciting. Just because of the Link Joker references.
We’ll also get to see a bit of Kazumi vs Gyze. I just realized...even if Gyze takes Drachma and Megiddo, Zoa was just secured by Misaki and Stark might be taken away as well. So, the ZRs still won’t be gathered. Will he go and defeat everyone in the building?
2021 Genesis GV80 3.5T review: A lead-off home run
2021 Genesis GV80 3.5T review: A lead-off home run
Those dual-slit headlights work wonders on just about anything.
Andrew Krok/Roadshow
Nobody’s truly great at something the first time they try it, but Genesis is working to buck that trend. The 2021 Genesis GV80 is the freshly spawned Korean automaker’s first SUV of its own and, just like the heavily revised G80 before it, this midsize luxury SUV is ready to make its mark in a busy segment — and fast.
Like
Sharp exterior
Properly luxurious interior
Top-notch infotainment graphics
Don’t Like
Ride could be softer
Just-OK fuel economy
A stunner, inside and out
The 2021 Genesis GV80 really commands attention. One driver rolled right up next to me on the road and honked the horn of their sedan until I turned my head, at which point I was met with a car full of thumbs up. The GV80’s exterior is unique; in fact, I’d consider it the prettiest ute in the segment. The headlights are like no other and the way the fastback-style roof line carries itself backwards leads to a car that looks like it’s constantly in motion.
The GV80’s interior manages to impress even more than the exterior does. This lovely design is part and parcel with the GV80 experience, regardless of trim. I might not fully embrace the two-spoke steering wheel, which is a little fat for 9-and-3 hand positioning, but the layout is uncluttered and the patterns baked into the leather ooze luxury. The GV80 is right up there with Mercedes-Benz in terms of interior quality and at its price point, I’d say it actually trounces the Merc on value alone. My tester’s a little monotone with its beige getup, but there are some truly wild combinations out there, including a two-tone motif with lots of blue leather.
Everything I touch is made of either leather or metal, with high-quality knurling on the stalks and infotainment controller; the GV80’s cabin feels ultra-premium. One of my favorite parts is the climate control, which has a small touchscreen that lets me configure airflow and fan speed independent of the automatic function. Even the temperature dials look and feel expensive.
The GV80’s interior doesn’t forego function in favor of all that form, either. Sure, the door panels are a little light on storage space, but the flowing center console has a decently sized cubby under the transmission dial and the armrest opens up for a bit more storage. It’s roomy as heck, too, with a second row that doesn’t scrimp on headroom despite a slightly cut roof line. Advanced Plus trims have an optional third row as well that, according to my colleagues, isn’t appropriate for fully grown humans, but it works for kids.
On-road serenity
The 2021 GV80 is not a svelte fellow, clocking in at some 5,000 pounds with AWD and all the bells and whistles, but my tester packs Genesis’ larger engine option. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 produces 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, and while it might not be the most sonorous six-pot on the block, it will push the GV80 forward with alacrity. Shoot whatever gap you want; there’s more than enough torque on tap and the eight-speed automatic transmission smoothly swaps cogs as necessary. There’s plenty of throttle and brake modulation on offer for serene, dip-free starts and stops, playing into the proper-luxury angle very nicely.
Most European midsize luxury SUVs try to bake some sportiness into their existence, with relative success. The GV80 tries to take more of a pure-luxury angle to its driving characteristics and it’s mostly successful. The Advanced-trim model in my driveway comes with Genesis’ road-scanning adaptive suspension, which uses cameras to preload the suspension in the event it has to handle some nastiness, which can be a rather big deal on the automaker’s Korean home turf. In Michigan, it does a commendable job eating up gross roads, but the whole experience feels a bit stiffer than I’d prefer, even with everything dialed to its plushest setting. An optional air suspension would turn this thing into a freakin’ cloud, so here’s hoping Genesis finds a way to shoehorn something like that in here later on. The GV80 is never really exciting to toss around, because that’s not what it’s made for, but it’s plenty confident if your commute involves a few twists and turns.
The GV80’s interior is interesting, no matter where you look or where you touch. Leather, metal, it’s all here.
Andrew Krok/Roadshow
Luxury continues to be the priority when looking at other parts of the driving experience, too. The cabin is plenty quiet, thanks in part to thick glass and an active noise-cancellation system that works like the headphones on your desk. It’s a properly placid time for both the driver and the driven.
Fuel economy is competitive for the GV80’s class, but outside of that bubble, it’s not really all that and a bag of chips. 3.5-liter models, which come standard with all-wheel drive, are EPA-rated at 18 miles per gallon city, 23 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined — with premium gas, no less. 2.5-liter variants are a little less thirsty at 21 city and 25 highway, but it’s still sufficiently thirsty.
Top-notch tech
In my G80 review, I spoke at length about how much I loved Genesis’ new infotainment system — and it’s no different on the 2021 GV80, which is to say that it rules. The 14.5-inch display atop the dashboard commands attention with its delightfully calm home screen and easy navigation, whether I’m reaching to touch the screen itself or (more likely) manipulating the rotary dial on the center console. Buttons above the climate control provide quick access to the usual features like the navigation, audio or settings menus. Every corner of the system isn’t just attractive, it’s intuitive and it doesn’t take long for me to figure out my preferred way of doing things. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, but not wirelessly, and as my boss Chris Paukert pointed out in his review, there is no option for a Wi-Fi hotspot or rear-seat entertainment here, which seems like a silly omission when most of the GV80’s competitors have all that. It’s not a deal-breaker, just a head-scratcher.
Only Prestige trims get the wild gauge-cluster screen that uses digital trickery to give the impression of physical depth, which means my GV80 is stuck with the tried-and-true physical cluster that includes a moderately sized info display in the middle. This is about the only corner of the vehicle that reminds me of the car’s Hyundai-based provenance, since it looks and acts like the same getup seen in cars like the Sonata. It’s fine; it does the job it’s supposed to, it’s just the only part of the cabin that I wouldn’t call special.
The home screen of Genesis’ new infotainment system is gorgeous and it changes based on the weather.
Andrew Krok/Roadshow
Every GV80 comes with an impressive amount of safety tech, including parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking that can detect both pedestrians and cyclists. The Advanced trim throws a surround-view monitor, mirror-mounted cameras and rear automatic braking into the mix, as well as Remote Smart Parking Assist (aka Smaht Pahk), which can roll the vehicle forward and backward while the driver presses the remote from outside. It’s some cool stuff, even if I only ever use it to show off.
All GV80s also include Genesis’ Highway Driving Assist, which combines the active and passive safety aids to hold the vehicle in its lane on the highway while keeping pace with traffic. It helps reduce some of the tedium of a traffic-laden commute, but it’s a hands-on system so vigilance remains a requirement. It does a commendable job, but the GV80’s lane-centering tech can be a little aggressive at times and I’m a pretty active driver so I generally leave the system off.
Down to brass tacks
Despite embodying the full-on luxury experience better than nearly all its competitors, the 2021 Genesis G80 isn’t a bank-breaker. Starting at $49,925 including destination, the GV80 3.5T AWD Advanced before me kicks off at $65,375, which is impressive in context; a BMW X5 xDrive40i starts at about $62,000, while a Mercedes-Benz GLE450 is about a grand above that. And then there’s the Audi Q8, which commands nearly $70,000. All three of those vehicles are before options, too. Hoo boy.
It’s a weird day when a car can be both a serious value and an example-setter in its storied segment, but that’s the 2021 Genesis GV80 in a nutshell. It manages to provide an excellent luxury experience in its truest form, eschewing the notion that every vehicle needs some underlying sporty angle, while somehow beating its biggest competitors on price while maintaining quality that rivals them. You’d think that the GV80 was Genesis’ third crack at a luxury SUV, but nope; sometimes, you strike gold on the first swing.
HajiKo Anime: Winter-Spring 2020 + Summer First Impressions
I wasn’t willing to return to Tumblr to keep making these posts about my anime reviews which they’re the only thing I make because I was burned out on making them and I wanted to commit on writing my novel but I ended up abandoning it now because I was frustrated with everything about it, from harsh criticism I didn’t ask for to not figuring out the story well enough.
Then I tried to keep my reviews going by making threads on Twitter, but later I wasn’t satisfied with how they turned out nor like writing them because I was feeling limited, and I was even debating on whether to keep the Twitter thread format going, returning to Tumblr or just simply tweet my tiers of every anime I watch, so what better way to keep this review series going? It’s to return to Tumblr because I really like reviewing anime and Tumblr has been the most comfortable space to make my reviews and giving it a new name, HajiKo Anime, as in my name I go on Twitter as Hajime Komaeda.
So, kept you waiting, huh?
I had a lot of stuff to do in my life to the point that it drives me totally insane to the point of questioning my will to live, and then there’s also the pandemic which everything gets delayed and cancelled, even upcoming anime!
The biggest problem with making my reviews is sometimes I have to force myself on commenting on other shows I don't have much thought on, only like few I have tons of feelings I want to express, so I really hope things will be any better once I’m back on Tumblr to make these reviews I liked doing.
By continuing to make these reviews by including my new tiers, let me remind how do I interpret the ranking tiers:
S: 10-9
A: 8
B: 7
C: 6-4
D: 3-1
E: 0
Let’s keep in mind that I wouldn’t give full reviews on literally everything I watch because sometimes I don’t have much thought on so I’ll just skip them, I make lengthy reviews on some shows because I genuinely have feelings on these shows, that was one of my struggles with my other reviews, some of them were forced but I promise I will only do lengthy reviews to some shows I have lots of thoughts to talk about.
First off with Winter which is looking qutie strong even for the beginning of the decade:
Winter 2020
(Higher resolution)
Ishuzoku Reviewers: Perhaps one of the best ecchi series I've ever watched in years to the point where the ecchi really gets near-hentai level... so much so it caused controversy for Funimation and Japanese television alike, with Funimation removing the license and cancelled the English dub due to its content, and the series being removed on Tokyo MX. Though I might say that I wouldn't go that far to consider this as the best ecchi series of all time because there are a couple of things I really hated about the show, it can be a little too biased on some fetishes, includes fetishes I’m not a fan of, etc. But still, I admire the show for taking risks by going beyond the limits of Japanese television.
ID: INVADED: This is the most surprising show I've ever seen this season, it may also happen to be somewhat underrated. How can a dying studio like NAZ produce something really well-animated for once? All thanks to Ei Aoiki. I'm not really much of an animation expert but I really hope there might be someone who will make an article saying "How Ei Aoki saved Studio NAZ with ID: INVADED."
BanG Dream season 3: This third season of Bandori is THE BEST Bandori season ever, this made me like RAS (RAISE A SUILEN) even more.
Eizouken: This was an interesting series about making anime that may or may not compete with SHIROBAKO, though even if they have the same theme of making anime, they're completely different in terms of setting. The animation, even from what I've seen with Masaaki Yuasa and Science Saru with Devilman Crybaby, surprisingly looks like the series was actually fully hand-drawn instead of Adobe Flash, though Adobe Flash is still present in the opening.
Isekai Quartet 2: This second season of Isekai Quartet was a huge letdown compared to its predecessor, my biggest deal breaker is how they wasted the Shield Hero characters into minor roles, they straight-up overhyped them. The last few episodes seemed like they were slowly redeeming themselves on making the Shield Hero characters have some more screentime. Now that the series got a third season, let’s see how they will handle the Shield Hero characters this time if they’ll truly become main character status to be shown on the OP and ED, or they continue to be minor characters on the classroom where most of the supporting and minor characters from the main isekai properties attend to. Also, at one episode there was this cameo of these two characters from a series called Cautious Hero, if they end up becoming actual main characters or something, I’m not even gonna bother binging the series just like I did with Shield Hero.
Nekopara: I was skeptical about this series, but upon watching the first episode alone, this is a very comfy series, but its existence and inclusion of original characters will always baffle me.
Honorable mentions:
Azur Lane The Animation: As of July 2020, I think I might have accepted the fact that a lot of people (At least the Western side of the AL fanbase) hate the anime and they say it sucks, I’m really spoiled about it and it sucks to feel that way. I’ve always been hype as hell when I was watching the series from the very beginning, it had all kinds of easter eggs and references I couldn’t stop pointing them out since I’m an avid Azur Lane player (JP version only), and the best part is that at one episode, it had a bath scene where in the Blu-Ray version, the whole scene happens to feature official animated nipples! Official Azur Lane nipples in official media! I wish this could happen very often, even official artists would occasionally draw their characters in full R-18, such as Sirius and Ark Royal. (NSFW, CLICK WITH CAUTION)
Sure, sometimes the series had some quality, especially at the end of episode 4, but that doesn’t make the series automatically garbage or anything. The Azur Lane anime is NOT GARBAGE, PERIOD. Got that?
If I had the time, I’d seriously love to rewatch the series (Using the BD rips of course) to prove everyone wrong.
In terms of the future of Azur Lane anime, as much as I’d love to see this get more seasons and even movies to beat Kancolle to the punch, we’re now getting an anime adaptation of the Twitter 4komas, well, at least that’s certainly something cool. With that being said, I bet people are gonna be like “This is way better than the main anime” which I won’t condone it like hell. Let me say it again, the main Azur Lane anime is not garbage.
Fate/Grand Order Babylonia: Long after watching the series when it was on the air, I’ve been thinking that this was probably okay, Babylonia is not my most favorite singularity throughout FGO because the previous ones deserve some respect and I’m biased to the Shinjuku singularity for obvious reasons. I do wish they would adapt pretty much every singularity but they’re tediously long that they need to make hundreds of anime of each, so they just happen to skip all that and decided to make a Babylonia series and the upcoming Camelot movies because they’re the most favorite. I don’t really buy it on why are they the most favorite, but okay.
My Hero Academia season 4 and My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising: Heroes Rising was probably the last movie I’ve seen going to the theater before the pandemic happened.
Castlevania season 3: For some reason I didn’t like this season as much as the first two (Unpopular opinion).
Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle: I was very skeptical throughout the first half of the season, but this second half was making me in high spirits, although I would still prefer the original PSO2 anime over this.
Moving on to Spring:
Spring 2020
(Higher resolution)
Fruits Basket: Fruits Basket continues to be an excellent series, balancing comedy and drama the way I like with the comedy always making me laugh and the drama always making me tense. (I don't wanna see or talk about EP9 ever again.)
Shin Sakura Wars The Animation: Sanzigen continues to deliver quite a lot even after BanG Dream! season 3, not only we get one but TWO shows this season. My main problem with Shin Sakura Wars The Animation is that they really must have abused the hand drawn parts so much, and this was a really frustrating problem that this should be A tier instead, but it was still quite good regardless, I love Sanzigen to death.
Watanuki-san Chi To: This was a neat second season and this makes me strongly believe that the Watanuki-san Chi series are the future of VTuber anime, or dorama as what the series is, and I’m still mad that there are still no subtitles for this, neither official subs nor fan subs.
My few complaints for Watanuki-san Chi To is that Ikuko's role that kinda takes Futaba's place a little too much since Futaba was working at a karaoke bar most of the time and Ikuko and Futaba had interacted on-screen like twice (or three if that ending from episode 3 counts) on episodes 5 and 12 (the final one). I'm hoping that we'll get more of the Watanuki sisters and Ikuko interacting together on-screen some more but I think things will be the same with Futaba continuing to work on the karaoke bar.
Then there’s episode 12 which was the episode where Ikuko leaves the Watanuki house after finding her real parents, the episode was kind of predictable as Ikuko returned and decided to stay with the Watanuki sisters afterwards. This is one of the few, if not, the first time that something definitely made me say and feel something was actually predictable, but not that I would hate on it or anything.
Another complaint I have for this entire season is that it lacked the crowd laughs the first season had, the first season felt like it was true a comedy and having no laughs this season gave an entirely different atmosphere and I wasn't very comfortable with it.
Despite the flaws, I give huge thumbs ups for what they did with the world and the characters, they finally happen to bring the characters from the audio drama played by various other VTubers, and we finally happen to explore outside of the world for a little bit between shots of the streets where Ikuko walked through at the beginning of the series and the karaoke bar, not just sticking to the Watanuki house over and over.
The best part of introducing the newer characters is that they finally showed male characters for once, one of which was Futaba's boyfriend, Kenji, who's sort of a recurring background character frequently mentioned in the first season, he happened to finally have his body revealed, but still no face reveal. And there was also this other male guest character in episode 3, he was interesting to say the least. Finally, something to make the series not sexist.
I wouldn't really consider myself as the most dedicated Western Watanuki-san Chi fan. As much as I'd like to call myself that, I don't really speak Japanese to understand the series some more and I would have to be a badass to actually make fansubs, some events happened in Japan, which I don't live in Japan, and I don't buy the merch, let alone the Blu-Rays and the audio dramas. The worst part about the audio dramas is they're purchasable on Pixiv Booth, which Pixiv doesn't really let me use my debit card (or might if I were to use my Wallet app or something). I for one wouldn't really consider myself as the ONLY person who watches the Watanuki-san Chi, I wouldn't be watching the series if it wasn't for the people who have been uploading torrents of every episode on Nyaa, there's a very niche amount of people who do watch the series.
(I probably shouldn’t talk too much about piracy related things and sites like Nyaa, and I try to make my review posts as formal as possible to stay away from such things, but I’m just an independent reviewer who makes these posts as a hobby, I’m not a big anime news site or anything and I can say whatever the fuck I want, so who cares?)
BanG Dream! Garupa Pico Ohmori and Welcome to the Japari Park season 2: These ones are definitely the absolute surprise and looks like things are definitely gonna get absolutely better. They both premiered between late April to early May, so they're kind of a special case.
Kaguya-sama season 2: I didn't get the first season as much, but this second season is finally making me feel better about the series. (Probably because when I binged the first season, I multitasked and get occasionally distracted, that's why I didn't get it at first)
Argonavis from BanG Dream: This one's quite an interesting series. Not as good as the mainline female-centric series, but as a self-contained universe, it's pretty good on its own. It even handles topics that the base series won't even do, like music industry and money. Although Chuchu is probably the closest thing we experience when she's a music producer character of sorts but she's more entitled to her own band, money is a far more important issue the series doesn't want ot tackle, and Argonavis does it right.
The only thing that almost ruined the series is the unnecessarily dark final episode where the entire episode was basically Banri passing out after doing their debut performance in Destiny Rock Festival and Argonavis were having a hard time about what to do if something were to happen with Banri and they made a song dedicated to him afterwards. Episode 12 should have been the final episode, we didn’t need to see a rollercoaster episode, this should be played out more as an OVA, but I digress. This isn’t the weakest or the worst finale but it’s seriously unnecessary.
Now I just hope the second season makes the other bands teased in the last few episodes become regulars, just like how the first season of the female Bandori where they teased a lot of the other bands, and then from season 2 onwards, the other bands have become regulars. I just really hope they'll make the other bands from Argonavis be full CG because they were all hand drawn for some reason, and I also need season 4 of main female Bandori series so bad so they can introduce Morfonica which in anime format they're introduced in the Garupa Pico Ohmori series.
Brand New Animal: It partially is because BNA starts with B, but he main reason is that I thought it was alright, and as a Netflix series that I can binge in one run, it's easily forgettable. Not the weakest of TRIGGER, but I feel rather indifferent with this.
Princess Connect ReDive: This was my absolute least favorite of Spring, I couldn't stress enough on how much of a Konosuba wannabe this is, it's such a poor imitation and I wish the actual game wasn't this ridiculously bad. From the over-the-top wacky tone to goofier background character designs and a very retarded MC. I don't know why but I thought this would be a simple way to get into Princess Connect without getting into the game because I see fan arts a lot, and Japan apparently seems to like this, as evidence with the fan arts and as much as I would like to like this more because of it, it just didn’t work for me, the animation is alright, though. At least this is way better than the NOT Shadowverse anime.
I got a comment from someone saying that the Konosuba influence comes from the director of the Puriconne series and this series serves to introduce the game as an original story for non-Puriconne players without touching any major plot points.
And finally let’s talk about my first impressions to all the shows I’m watching this Summer season:
Fire Force season 2: I was hoping this season can be a little bit better animated than the first, but upon the first episode of this season alone the terrible pacing is still there, but then the second episode, things get really interesting. The story is the main thing that will keep me intrigued for the rest of the series.
Dokyuu Hentai HxEros: The first time I heard about this series was when I retweeted and saving a Suketto Sanjou-related picture by artist Rakko where he hid a reply where someone posted a link to the Amazon page of the upcoming volume of the manga of HxEros (which the manga is not by Rakko and this is totally unrelated, what the hell was the guy who made the reply thinking?), that was a little while before I heard that this was getting animated.
At first I was 50/50 on watching it or not, but I saw the news that there’ll be this “H Energy Unleashed” version, which is the “uncensored” version and that sold me, but I continue to be unsure on watching it, that is until the day of the premiere where I was randomly seeing screenshots of the episode on my timeline, particularly scenes where the girl Kirara was completely naked, and I was absolutely sold on it and decided to watch it, and after doing so, I kinda dig it.
However, I dislike Kirara because of how she is. It makes me feel bad for how she used to be when she was a kid during some flashbacks where she was a dirty minded girl to present day where she’s a hardcore tsundere hiding her horniness, the way she is, it really makes me hard to empathize with her. She’s pretty cute and hot too.
Re:Zero season 2: It feels weird having a second season of Re:Zero considering it’s been 4 years since the first season came out, and after watching the first episode, now I just feel unprepared.
Oregairu season 3: While I was watching the episode, I was randomly reminiscing some memories and characters I remember from the first two seasons and who do I like, which I kinda like most characters, but Komachi is my least favorite because she constantly says “gross” to poor Hachiman, geez.
Uzaki-chan: This was a pretty solid series and this is definitely being AOTS. However, recently I found something very hilarious that I’m dying to talk about.
Remember the time when there was a controversy from an SJW where they criticized the Uzaki-chan Japanese Red Cross poster because of her big boobs? Well, that’s a separate story, but things with Uzaki-chan gets more laughable, as I stumbled upon this tweet a few days ago and...
Anime News Network gave the first episode a 1.5 star review?!
Holy jesus... What is that?! What the fuck is that?!
Yikes, Anime News Network are a bunch of clowns!
I’m really glad ANN is getting the hate it deserves, I just don’t like ANN when they do reviews, I never liked them since their discussion post on Netsuzou Trap and then episode 0 of Saekano season 2.
All that aside, this series is going to be quite a fun ride.
This Summer season could have been strong if only Akudama Drive and Danmachi season 3 weren’t delayed, but that’s for the better as Fall 2020 is looking like it’s the strongest season of the year, and you’ll find out why in September.
And that’s it for all my reviews! I really hope you enjoyed my biased reviews and I can’t wait to continue to make these reviews just like I used to. Also, let me address that I don’t make money from making these reviews, I only write these posts for fun.
Anyways, see you in Fall 2020 for my review for this Summer season and what am I gonna watch in Fall!
Check out my Carrd.
Well,you're right about the whole fked without a Space player thing, though with aTime player you could conceivably Scratch the session when necessary. Butanyway, let's get started with this, shall we?
Mage of Time: Probably always late toeverything, they've had to deal with enough things ending to last a lifetime, giving them a particularunderstanding of Time, endings, repetitions, etc.. They could be a goodcompanion for the Knight, recognising when they shouldn't be so hard onthemselves and take some Time off (hahaI'll show myself out). They would also be a pretty good strategist with theirpowers to view and manipulate timelines.
Maid of Light: The informant and probablytactician of the team, their dependence on others for their aspect, in thiscase knowledge perhaps, early on would definitely make them pretty darnconfused. Fully realised, they would be a pretty good strategist, being able tocreate knowledge in their teammates to keep everyone informed and on the samepage, and their powers also include some offensive capabilities as well.
Thief of Rage: A pretty nice friend to havearound, they have a tendency to steal the hate and negativity away from others,perhaps by absorbing any Rage directed at their friends. They'll be the kind ofperson to yell "Hey what about me?! Pick on me why don't you!"whenever someone insults someone they're close to. They might also take theRage from others by getting mad about stuff others are passionate about. Theyalso have some pretty strong offensive powers up their sleeve. They could stealRage from their teammates, clearing their minds while turning that Rage into adriving force. They could also steal the passion from enemies and use it tofuel themselves.
Page of Doom: The “irresponsible rule breaker”at the start of the session, they would probably have a pretty bad grasp onrules and consequences, perhaps thinking that nothing all that bad will happenif they break them. They might also adhere mindlessly to any rules given tothem in an effort to prove themselves trustworthy and responsible. However,with some experience at adhering to rules and working with limitations, theywould eventually gain a good grasp on Doom. As for powers, a fully-realisedPage of Doom could simply make their enemies rapidly decay into nothing attheir whim. Getting them to stick with the Thief early on doesn't seem likethat bad of an idea, since the Thief would be able to deflect any flak directedat the Page while they focus on their own progression.
Knight of Life: Always the lively one, theyhave seemingly limitless amounts of energy and that energy is always being usedto do something, usually something get to what they want to achieve inlife. As I've mentioned, the Mage would probably be a good partner for them,especially earlier on. They would also be a considerable offensive force withtheir seemingly never-ending drive.
Overall,as long as you find that missing Space player you seem more or less set :D.
TL;DR
As long as you find a Space player you'll be in a pretty good spot
Cinematic Comic Characters Ranked! (Year 2009) Final Part
It’s rough coming right after a fantastic year of movies (2008) but 2009 did pretty well for itself. Terminator Salvation is our only sequel and we also get an X-Men spinoff with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Kids favorite shows come out with Astro Boy, Dragonball: Evolution, and G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, and we got a couple of thrillers with Whiteout and Surrogates. We also get the debut of the controversial Watchmen! Here’s your TOP 20!
*SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ALL HIGHLIGHTED MOVIES ABOVE*
20. Tom Greer (Surrogates)
"You don't change what's been done. You and I know that better than most people."
Tom Greer is a cop living in a world where surrogates are used for everything and humans don't even leave their bedrooms. He gets thrown into a murder case where people are dying through their hosts and gets his whole world turned upside down when his surrogate is destroyed. Now Greer is forced to live as a human again and deal with the emotions and risks that comes with it. After stopping Canter from killing every human attached to the surrogate, he ultimately decides to let the virus destroy the surrogates and returns to home to fix his relationship with his wife.
19. Kyle Reese (Terminator Salvation)
"Come with me if you want to live!"
Introducing a young Kyle Reese, the man who goes back in time and ends up being John Connor's father, was such an interesting dynamic. Kyle looked up to John, completely unaware that he was the one who created him, along with Sarah Connor. Star being his traveling buddy proves that he's good with kids and his character really shows when he calms down all the prisoners and continues to inspire them despite their dreadful looking futures. Skynet recognizes him as the biggest threat so he ends up becoming the number one target and has to get rescued by John and Marcus, another man he ends up looking up to.
18. Snake Eyes (G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra)
*silently fights with ninja sword*
Another mute on our list, Snake Eyes has taken a vow of silence after it appeared his arch enemy, Storm Shadow, killed their master. Now on the G.I. Joe team, Snake Eyes is called in when the team desperately needs a win. He pulls through for the most part, until Storm Shadow comes back in the picture. Personally, there's not much emotional investment I can give to a mute that literally covers his entire body to the point that I never see facial journeys or expressions. Like yes, he's a bad ass, but I really wanted to know how he felt knowing that Storm Shadow wasn't the one who killed his master after all.
17. Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias (Watchmen)
"I don't mind being the smartest man in the world, I just wish it wasn't this one."
Our villain, not villain of the movie. Adrian is one of the only superheroes to reveal his identity, now using his incredible brain to help out the world...as well as start a toy line. Turns out he's the one that killed The Comedian and managed to block out Dr. Manhattan from his plan to 'save the world'. How does he do this? By blowing up cities full of millions of innocent people. Unlike most villains, he doesn't give the heroes a chance to stop him, he pulls the trigger and gets away with it. The worst part? His plan sort of works. All the world leaders decide to band together in peace to heal their major losses and will look to him and his resources for guidance. He also had this really cool looking purple tiger that he killed for no reason and knowing Zack Snyder as a director, I think Adrian is supposed to be bisexual with his high interest in Alexander the Great.
16. Kayla Silverfox (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
"Walk until you bleed... then keep walking!"
Kayla Silverfox is a mutant with the ability to control others through touch. After her sister is taken by Stryker, she agrees to start a relationship with Logan and fake her death so that he would seek revenge and agree to go through the Weapon X program. I guess she really did care for him, but it's hard to believe it when she only brings it up as a way to convince him to help her rescue her sister. I think it does show she cares though when she tries to convince him not to kill Victor, not wanting him to give in to his animal side. In the end she does actually die, getting shot by Stryker, but not before she gets Stryker under her control and makes him disappear.
15. Wallace A. Weems/Ripcord (G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra)
"Don't start being all nice now."
Everyone needs a comic relief, and on the G.I. Joe's team it's Ripcord. Literally every seen he was in he ends up being the butt of a joke, which obviously got old really quick. It was nice to see him bring out the emotional side of Scarlett and he did truly care about Duke when he was in trouble, so he was more bearable after that. He does come through in the end, flying one of the fastest jets known to man to take out the three missiles launched at three huge city populations all by himself.
14. Shana M. O'hara/Scarlett (G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra)
"Kill all the bad guys."
With Cover Girl dying early on in the movie, Scarlett ends up being the only girl representing the Joe's. Being just as smart as Breaker and one of the best fighters on the team, Scarlett proves she's not t be taken lightly. Her knowledge of different languages helps Ripcord take down the warheads at the end of the movie and we see her start to embrace her emotional side instead of just being the perfect robot soldier.
13. Daniel Dreiberg/Nite Owl II (Watchmen)
"God I'm tired of being afraid, afraid of war, afraid of the mask-killer and afraid of this goddamn suit, and how much I need it."
Daniel is the nicest guy in this whole movie! He doesn't even do much that's super nice, he just doesn't do anything that makes him an asshole like every other guy in the movie. Even though he's the second Nite Owl, he's considered the best, even by the original. He takes not being a hero anymore pretty well and starts living a normal life, but he starts craving the suit more and more as each day passes by. Laurie coming back in his life is the match to light the fire and he officially comes out of retirement to help save the world again, as well as have some steamy sex with Laurie on his owl-shaped jet/ship. There's really nothing he can do to stop Adrian's plan or to stop Rorschach's death but he is able to call Adrian out on his hypocrisy before continuing his life fighting crime with Laurie.
12. Victor Creed/Sabretooth (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
"Nobody gets to kill you but me!"
So in a bizarre twist, Victor Creed is actually Logan's older brother. As they grow up, its blatantly obvious that Logan is the superior brother though, and that creates some jealous tension coming from Victor. When Logan 'abandons' him and quits Stryker's team, he works with Stryker to bring him down. He also hunts down any mutant that can help with Weapon XI. Being Stryker's glorified lap dog ends up benefiting him in no way, shape, or form as Stryker reveals he lied and that the adamantium wouldn't work on Victor like it did Logan. Of course this doesn't go well and the two brother duke it out, with Logan coming out as the winner, even more so when he decides to spare Victor's life. Victor returns the favor, helping Wolverine defeat Weapon XI before running off, making it clear their rivalry is still very much a thing.
11. Conrad S. Hauser/Duke (G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra)
"My army."
The main G.I. Joe, the All-American hero that will never give up on a mission and do whatever he can to complete it. I liked Duke his heart was always in the right place, but I just got to drag him for the situation with Ana for a bit. He really thought the best thing to do after her brother's death was to abandon her? Like, he can't really be that dumb, can he? And then to not even try to contact in her in FOUR YEARS?? The only reason he runs into her is because her not-dead brother brainwashes her to be this ass-kicking villain he ends up having to go against. Anyways, Duke was an essential member when it came to stopping Cobra. When everyone else was down it was him that stopped the nanobites from destroying all of Paris. And in the end it was him that snapped Ana out of her mind control and then pursued The Doctor to get him arrested. His dedication to the cause is extremely valiant, but maybe he should take some therapy lessons on how to open up to his fiance when there's a little drama in their lives.
10. Carrie Stetko (Whiteout)
"I gotta go out and do the rounds."
Carrie is one hardcore woman who has been fighting for her life from the get go. Even before the investigation in the Antarctic she had to tango with death as she fought off a man her partner released on her, making her trust in others lessen obviously. Then she moves to Antarctica where she now has to deal with the continents first murder, days before she was going to retire permanently. During the investigation, she nearly gets killed like five times and ends up having to get get TWO of her fingers amputated. With all that she still manages to stop the killer as well as confront one of her closest friends. Afterwards though, she decides not to retire, but does ask if she could be stationed someplace warmer.
9. Astro (Astro Boy)
"This is my destiny."
I loved Astro! He was just so nice and kind and helped everyone he could but because he was a robot everyone had to treat him like shit! Even with his father abandoning him, Hamegg wanting to profit off him, and President Stone wanting to destroy him for his blue core energy, he still did all he could to do the right thing and did everything he could to help anyone who was in danger. His level of awareness was also incredible! Like his willingness to sacrifice himself even though he still had the mind of a thirteen year old was incredible and I'm so glad he survived and became Metro City's new protector.
8. Walter Kovacs/Rorschach (Watchmen)
"Men get arrested. Dogs get put down."
I was conflicted with Rorschach because yes, he killed not one, but two dogs, but I totally understand why. They were owned by a man who brutally murdered a little girl and then fed her to them. The birth of Rorschach happens on the night he kills the man instead of turning him into authorities. He starts serves his own brand of justice even after the Watchmen are disbanded. He's the only one that starts investigating The Comedian's murder, which leads him to getting framed for Moloch's murder. In prison, Rorschach takes down a lot of enemies he's put in there before he breaks out with Nite Owl and Silk Spectre II. When Adrian succeeds in killing millions of people to save billions, Rorschach is the only one who refuses to keep quiet and his stubbornness leads to his death by Dr. Manhattan. However, the truth is still in Rorschach's personal journal so who knows how long Adrian's forced peace lasts.
7. Thomas Arashikage/Storm Shadow (G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra)
"Now you will die without a word."
I don't know why but I loved Storm Shadow, but I did have one slight problem. Why on Earth would he wait until he literally dies by Snake Eye's hand to reveal to the other ninja that he wasn't the one that killed their master? That was the only reason Snake Eyes considered him an enemy! And the only reason he took that vow of silence in the first place! Even if he didn't kill his master, he definitely felt some type of way about him favoring this random white kid who showed up so maybe he was still bitter about that and wanted Snake Eyes to think he was the killer. Either way, he was a dangerous foe, probably killing the most people out of everyone in the film. Oh, and did anyone else notice he had the world's first fidget spinner? Because I sure did.
6. John Connor (Terminator Salvation)
"I'll be back."
John Connor has finally shaped into the man Skynet feared he'd be, a leader of the Resistance. He has become a beacon of hope and is always looked upon during times of great stress by his peers, no doubt because of his calm and collected personality he's developed over the years at war. With his mother's tapes to guide him, John ends up doing his best to find his future father, Kyle Reese. He ends up doing so with the help of Marcus Wright, a hybrid human-machine. At first, since he hasn't been told about him by anyone from his future, John doesn't trust him, but when it appears the man is in control of the machine, John teams up with him to rescue Kyle and the other humans from Skynet. In the rescue mission, John comes face to face with The Terminator, who nearly kills him by wounding him to close to the heart. It's Marcus's sacrifice that ends up saving him and allowing him to continue on and lead the resistance against the machines.
5. Logan/Wolverine (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
"You wanted the animal, Colonel. You got it."
Wolverine is back and this time we get all, or at least most, of the questions to his passed answered. When did he discover his powers? When he killed his father for killing the man he THOUGHT was his actual father. How did he get involved with Stryker? He joined his team of mutants along with his brother, Victor. When Logan didn't want to kill innocent people, he ditched. How did he get his metal claws? Victor shows up and 'kills' Kayla, Logan's girlfriend at the time, so Logan goes to Stryker to put him in the Weapon X program so he can have the adamantium in his skeleton. His biggest struggle is staying on the line between man and animal. It's hard when he ends up fighting almost every character (like the Blob, Agent Zero, and Gambit) and literally fights in every American War since the Civil War. Of course it's discovered Kayla didn't actually die and was working for Stryker but his feelings are still there for her so he keeps his grudge on Victor, defeating him without giving in to his animal side. The biggest threat in the end is Weapon XI, an uber-powered Deadpool. Once he's defeated, the last remaining question is answered. How does Logan lose his memory? Stryker shoots him in the head twice with adamantium bullets and it's only because he's young and his shape that his healing powers saved him. All in all not the greatest origin story but it's the first of a great trilogy with Logan centered on the front lines.
4. Laurie Jupiter/Silk Spectre II (Watchmen)
"I am not afraid."
Laurie had the biggest arc, for me, in this movie. She still puts up with her bitter mother despite disapproving the women's fondness to the Comedian, a man that tried to rape her. She also struggles with her relationship with Dr. Manhattan, who's omniscient persona really puts a strain on them both. She leaves him after reuniting with Daniel, the second Nite Owl. I think in the end she wanted someone who would give their full attention to her when it counted, which is something Daniel was able to do. Back in the crime fighting life, she teams up with Daniel and Rorschach to stop Adrian from destroying the world. In order to do so, she has to confront Dr. Manhattan to get him to help, which ends up with her finding out The Comedian is her real father. Even though she's distressed about it, it gets Jon to help, but they end up being too late. When everything is said and done, Laurie forgives her mother and continues fighting crime with Daniel.
3. Blair Williams (Terminator Salvation)
"I saw a man, not a machine."
Blair Williams is one of the best pilots working for John and the resistance who teams up with Marcus after the pair try to rescue Kyle and Star from the machine gatherers. After taking care of a group of bandits, the pair end up getting close with each other as Blair leads him back to headquarters. During their travels Blair assures Marcus that he's a good guy and that all humans deserve a second chance as long as they want one. When it's discovered Marcus is part machine, Blair sees the human in him and decides to betray the resistance and rescue him. After John forgives her, she ends up flying the plan that rescues them from Skynet Headquarters before it explodes. She grows feelings for Marcus so she's a little upset when he offers to give his heart to John so the other could live, but understands that this is his second chance.
2. Jon Osterman/Dr. Manhattan (Watchmen)
"The world's smartest man poses no more threat to me than it's smartest termite."
The most powerful man on Earth, Jon got his powers as Dr. Manhattan from a freak accident in his lab. With the body of Adonis and powers such as teleporting, flight, multiplying, and growing the size of a titan, there's rare limitations to Jon, which makes him the biggest asset to the United States military. He ends the war with Vietnam by himself and helps Adrian create a world ran by clean energy, but he does have his faults. For one, he treated his ex-girlfriend like shit before he left her for Laurie, who he also failed to care for like she needed him to. However, it's her breakup that makes him give up on humanity and run off to a distant planet. He refuses to help save the world until he discovers the miracle in Laurie's birth, but he ends up too late to save the world from Adrian. When Adrian's plan to bring world peace actually does work, Dr. Manhattan agrees to take the blame so that the peace can remain. He ends up having to kill Rorschach to keep him quiet before saying his goodbyes to Laurie and leaving for another universe.
1. Marcus Wright (Terminator Salvation)
"I am human."
From the beginning I couldn't help but want to to root for this guy. As soon as he wakes up from the future he befriends Kyle and Star and looks after them. He shows Kyle a lot of tricks for survival that the other eventually takes with him when he goes back in time. When the pair get snatched, Marcus tries his best to rescue them, making it his mission to save two people he barely knows. He doesn't think he's a good person, because of what he did in his past, but as Blair points out, he's doing good things now, which is what matters. Even when he discovers he's a machine and that Skynet created him to accomplish John Connor's death, he doesn't give in and proves his human side is in control by helping John rescue everyone. In his final act of redemption, Marcus sacrifices himself by giving his heart to John so that the other could live. With a goodbye kiss from Blair, he dies knowning that he got his second chance at being a good person.
