for the people outraged about the images i chose: a) this is round one so all images are just basic pngs of the characters to make it more fun b) theres 100+ characters on the roster and c) if you'd like to show a different image of the character you can tag it as propaganda and ill reblog! i did this for a couple of other characters like stephano and soundwave

In celebration of my new writing sideblog, I decided to share a snippet of the expanded version of my first prompt fill. Original can be found here. Brief synopsis: Tim and Danny became online friends when they were both neglected and lonely ten/eleven-year-olds. Before Robin and before Phantom. They have been fully open with each other since they first met and that doesn't change, even after it probably should. (This segment is a chat fic.)

The links and pictures started coming through even faster. The first was a picture of a family of acrobats and one of the links was to the story about how the parents died in an accident while performing.

The next link was about Bruce Wayne adopting a child followed by one only a few months later discussing Batman’s new side kick, Robin. Then a picture of the Graysons’ son in his circus costume next to a picture of the first Robin. Which were entirely too similar.

“Holy…” whispered Danny. But the links and images were still coming.

Robin stopped being spotted when Dick Grayson moved out. And not much later Nightwing appeared. And then there was a new Robin and a new adoption. And then Jason Todd-Wayne died and Robin disappeared.

He couldn’t tell the truth, so he decided to lie. “Yeah. We’re hoping to beat this boss so we can get a rune stone that’ll let us craft this super awesome weapon! Then we might stand a chance in the arena.”

AITA for getting a friend banned from Tumblr ? I(19nb) met a group of people through fandom (6 of us, adults) and we started talking on discord. It was fun and everyone was cool. We (privately) would send Fandom Takes on the discord and kind of make fun of how bad they were sometimes. It was pretty harmless, until one friend Summer(26f) (fake names) decided to fixate on a particular person named Brian in the fandom.

Brian was, I believe, about 13 or 14 years old at the time. They were a system blog (sorry I don't understand systems very well) and Brian was (or identified as?) a bunch of characters in this fandom from a lineage of ancestors that Summer liked. So I think Summer took it personally or something that this person mischaracterized them cuz they were her favorite characters?

Like I said, it started as harmless, privately posting some stuff that Brian had said and saying stuff like "me when I'm 13 years old" etc etc but Summer started to get an unhealthy fixation with this person and would start posting DAILY about Brian. I mean paragraph-long rants about this kid. It was getting out of hand so I started defending Brian even though I don't even know him cuz it started to sound really mean. But Summer would just kind of laugh it off and say "well its not like I'm saying this in public"

Summer also started to attack Brian personally about the whole 'system' thing, i don't really know anything about systems, and again, this kid is a total stranger, so idgaf, but Summer said that tiktok has totally bastardized what systems are and she's sick of kids thinking its an identity thing and stuff like that, since she works as a PSW in a psych ward and deals with people who have that disorder, I think this is also a big reason why Brian made her so mad, but again... Summer and Brian don't even know each other so it was getting uncomfortable, like it became so that nobody even posted in the Bad-Takes channel anymore bc Summer was just constantly posting personal stuff about Brian and it made us all feel weird about the channel altogether.

So this is where it starts to suck: Summer makes a sideblog, burnbook style, called something like We-Hate-Brian or Brian-Fucking-Sucks (cant remember the name) and starts literally copying Brian's text posts and parodying them and editing stuff into his icon photo and his art. She posts about this in our discord thinking its absolutely hilarious and I immediately start DMing everyone to mass report the blog (and her main) cuz I'm ashamed we even let it get this far.

So Summer gets banned from Tumblr, gets upset about it in the discord, and nobody really replies to her insane rant about it, she's totally convinced that somehow it was Brian himself. We all move to another discord to quietly ghost her and she messages us once in a while but I think what happened really soured everyone on her. Nobody has ever told Summer that it was us that got her banned, or why we did it. I feel kind of weird about it since we never told her and just collectively agreed to ghost her to avoid the inevitable drama. so AITA??

yeeessssss & nooooo haHAH i'm a bit difficult when it comes to shipping. i've been uhhh lets say burned heavily in the past added with the fact that i'm grey-aromantic i tend to favor other forms of love vs romantic first & foremost. usually i have to have a good relationship with the mun before i'm open to shipping w/ them, which is why for years & years i would more often ship w/ my best friends here rather than like just off the cuff. not that ppl who do casually ship are bad, it's just not for me. i have to have chemistry between myself & the other writer to be able to create something just like any other plot & my muse well she may not be sentient but damn she gotta have some sort of want or lean to it too u kno LOL minako herself has proven to me to be extremely fickle about romance. that comes from being a shoujo-manga-esc protag based on love for humanity. she doesn't have a canonical love interest because she's player controlled & sure, at this point she's my oc which i'm totally writing her with that as the focus bc i feel like all protag ocs for games like this are basically ocs with a general preset provided by the games canon my personal world building is only really a guide & not hard coded for rp. there are characters she finds attractive that she interacts w/ quite often, but attraction does not equate to romantic feelings. she's dense when it comes to romance to her so she'd have to be confessed to completely outright because even when she catches feelings she bottles them up in some idiotic ' this is fine as it is ' mentality which means the other person tends to have to confess before she lets herself bridge that gap to start a romance or dabble it in. i do have my own ships for her, some crossfandom as well. they aren't like rpc related tho. i would explode like a sun a thousand times for these ships i love them.

when you make another blog that allows asks, do you use the side-blog to create another blog despite Tumblr saying that it lacks some of the social features of one? I'm trying to make another blog because I have some art that I don't want to add to my main, but still want to share.

side-blog to make another blog...? like, a full blog...? a different account with its own side-blogs? sorry. i'm a bit lost here with the terminology here

but, if you mean, using a side-blog (y'know, those secondary blogs with less features as you've said - attached to the whole account's "mail blog") for posting art - that's what i do!

i allow asks on it, also. ever since an update a few months ago, you can also reply to a post using a sideblog like this. (i can show in replies)

the only thing it'll do, is that everything you like and everyone you follow will be seen as your main.

for example, my art blog is @cyberscratch. my main is here, @frostbite-the-bat. i post my art on cyberscratch seperate from this blog for the most part.

so if i were to follow someone - in their notifs it'd only appear as "frostbite-the-bat is now following you". i assume you know this so i'm not gonna explain further, i just wanted to lay that down -

if being seen like that is an issue then i suggest you make an entirely new tumblr account and post your art there. but like if you dont mind that you can just use a sideblog. to everyone else it appears like a normal blog, to you it just cant do some things yknow? but honestly to me at least those things are miniscule and i forgot most of em

i'll be honest, i haven't read toa (only short snippets when i want to see a specific scene), so i just read this article abt it, and it's frustrating that almost every example of diversity rick includes is riddled w harmful stereotypes. like, google is right there to help you avoid at least some! (psa to anyone else reading this, google "harmful [x] stereotypes" before making a character you're unfamiliar with!) the wwii stuff...rereading the series again like two years ago shocked me bc i had completely erased the entire plotline from my memory as a kid. some of these choices have me questioning the editors at the time, bc there were definitely things an editor should've pointed out if they were reading the full text.

​You'll have to do this for each individual blog (if you have sideblogs). I'm not seeing the toggle on the app itself (at least the iOS app), so you might have to use the desktop view. It is a little convoluted to get there the first time, I won't lie.

You'll need to click on Settings and then one of the subcategories (ie: Account) Here it is on the Twitterification experimental UI, as that's all I can screenshot at the moment due to this stupid A/B test staff is doing.

Then to pull up the individual settings for the blog, you'll need to click on the blog itself. On the icky new test UI, it's on the right hand side of the screen (if memory serves, it's also there on the old UI too)

Doing that brings up the blog customization page:

When you enable the custom theme, that "edit appearance" button up top is where you can also do some advanced stuff like adding extra tabs that can link off to other custom pages you can build out within the software, offsite, etc.

Doing this has an extra added benefit, as enabling the custom blog gives you the ability to use Google's site search (ie: if I were to search my blog, I would type into google "site:greyias.tumblr.com searchterm), which can sometimes help you find posts if like me, you're not the greatest at tagging (or just tumblr's search function isn't working, which is like, 75% of the time).
