me after attempting to get back into sims and realizing i had a lot more to do than play the game

#hi everyone #I’m going around hugging you all #okay now that we are gathered here today #i will simply acknowledge that i have been gone for a very long time and then also acknowledge that maybe it was for the best #i relied on sims to be my only creative activity even if i tried to write a book at the same time #and also. i prioritized sims over real life responsibilities. that’s just a deadly combination lol #but I recently noticed I just replaced sims with Netflix. with YouTube. with anything that gave me quick dopamine #literally became addicted in a sense. still am but I’ve been cut cold turkey from most everything #I get off work and go. okay I’ve done the dishes and the laundry……..I could read or write or bake….#I try to write and sometimes i get a good hour #then I read for a few hours and then get tired of it #and I made cookies Tuesday so I’m waiting for those to be gone before baking again #I’m just so pitiful that I feel BORED and don’t know what to do #so I said….. okay what if I do sims for an hour.#I downloaded some new cc Tuesday and tried to play yesterday #y’all ……………….. I can’t find the energy anymore to set up elaborate scenes and pose my sims and plan posts #I said wow… this is boring without my intervention and fake story #I said wow…….. all this for what? for tumblr? yes I created cool things and provided joy. but is that inherintly important compared to my #own joy? my own everyday activities I should be doing?#y’all I do not leave the house unless we got out to eat or shop or travel to our parents #.. I have little desire to. I’m trying to find that desire #but my husband is busy with grad school and work and I don’t want to do anything by myself #I’ve found myself in one heck of a slump #I didn’t want to be human for awhile. just had no desires no interests no ambitions #I was slacking off SO HARD at work. I just had no drive to do well #I’m still working on it. I’m still trying to get caught up. Highlight of the sydney eps they did when they first visited in 2019 was easily them all getting recognized so much more than they had clearly ever anticipated, people were just walking up like OH MY GOD!! Are you Stray Kids!? And almost all of them would respond each time by looking like pray animals in a cars headlights just 🧍‍♂️ except for chan. chan was loving it. grin from ear to ear. giggling. feeling like a prince.

Hi @jadefyre! 🥺 I’m sorry this took me so long, energy is hard to find these days. You’re the loveliest for this ask nevertheless, so thank you so much 💕

Honestly, I use Notion for everything related to my writing now lol. It’s a ridiculously effective platform for planning and I think executing too. Tho, I should warn you that my things are still a mess, but with the help of this I could get as organized as I could be. Kinda step by step tour of my Notion pages below.

I think I have a very simple method actually. I have a main page where I keep all my prompts (from tumblr games) and my random ideas that I want to use it somewhere. These are the ones I reach for when I don't have an idea what to write, or just wanna have some fun/ clear out my drafts. Tho, I always try to make them canon scenes, so I use them up in my manuscript somehow. Template I costumized by souls collide.

For my ongoing projects, however, I make separate accounts because I love doing worldbuilding stuff and I found it more helpful to have everything related to one story in one place. The prompts are the only exceptions, but, when I'm done with them I move them to the project accounts they belong too.

I'll go with the Metalsea page, becuase that's the most developed since my main focus is on this story recently.

So, on my Project Page, I usually keep all the scattered ideas that I wanna put into the story, plus the character and side story idea pages. I usually have a lot of side story ideas, since I wanna explore and stay in my worlds as long as I can lol.

In my World page (which is Onidia in this case), I collect the main locations and I sort all the infos about them inside those pages. I basically use these as little lexicons of each place because I always loved the idea of those. I put Laqounia's underneath as an example. Excuse my messiness with switching between languages inside the docs, I scribble fresh ideas down in my main one.

And then there's the Outline part where I keep my outline and all the random scenes I'm writing out of order when the inspiration hits me. I like to see how many on-going stuff I have, how many is just in a brainstorming stage etc. That's why I usually use kinda of a lot labels, while also I leave summaries for myself for the scenes too. Inside the Book I-II-III-IV are the chapter by chapter outline (only for Book I yet and that even a full one either). I'm mostly doing the our of order scenes, so. Oh, well.

Well, this is how I use Notion for writing and I love every bit of it ngl, so I hope I could give you something useful or at least interesting. If you have any other questions, ask away!
