i’m going insane i was on a NG+ save and realized i didn’t get the finger from varre (had the blood stained cloth in my inventory), but didn’t want my frenzy eyes to get overwritten, so i thought whatever i’ll just kill him at the rose church

and i got a dialogue i never heard, something like “oh it seems noble blood is too rich for some” instead of the usual “very well, if you mistake kindness for frailty of heart” and while dying he was whining about mohg instead of calling me a maidenless runt

so i made a whole new character and quickly went through all the steps of the quest backing up saves and testing his comments when attacked, when killing the player or when he gets killed at every step of the quest and i couldn’t get any new lines

does anyone know what triggers his comments to change at rose church? i can’t even find this audio in the youtube video that has almost 19 minutes of his voice lines
