i’ve been havin a sad nighttime despite it being borfday so its time to answer the character asks I’ve been saving for just such an occasion!! I’VE GOT A LOT TO DO //ALSO SLAMS HANDS ON A TABLE LETS TALK ABOUT MY DARLING BOY

Gonna drop some background info for folks, since Clem hasn’t come up much on my blog; His full name is Adrian Clementine, but “Clementine” always stuck as a name more than Adrian and so he’s just about the only person that calls him by his first name - he’s just given up and started introducing himself as Clementine anyways. He’s a young man, around 21, who’s admittedly a big crybaby and looks like he’s barely 18. He’s an old friend of Aila's, having met her in the gang she got sucked into when she was twelve (he was about fourteen at the time), and while she lost touch with him when leaving Vale at sixteen they’ve gotten back in touch recently, about three years later, due to the gang mysteriously and inexplicably turning up in the distant city Aila’s currently settled herself in. 

The gang themselves are actually less of a gang and more of a crime organization, gaining revenue through hired assassinations of any common person and even a few higher officials - not to say the latter ‘jobs’ aren’t more prone to failure - and keeping their assassins mostly either via blackmail or the fact there wasn’t other viably-paying work available for them. Clementine was always too soft for actual murder, and has been stuck in the business instead as a simple thief. His possum tail has helped him in that respect, since it’s basically a third hand for him, but he hates the work and has wanted out for years.

If only he wasn’t the big boss’s son.

12. Is there some particular talent, skill, or attribute that they simply could not give up?

>> Clementine’s passion is for art - specifically watercolor. His dreams for the future almost entirely revolve around becoming an author and illustrator of children’s fairytale books, or at least one! In fact, he’s working on his first one now, all about a young prince disliking the cold commanding royal life and going on to learn his place and find his passion in simple garden and animal care in life in some easy to understand kid-friendly terms (the prince even ends up with a pet unicorn!). He doesn’t have a lot of specific skills past a couple art mediums, and his unfortunate learned skill in theft. I’m sure he’d love to lose that last one.

33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go?

>> Clementine’s current little temporary apartment has become his safe space - it’s quiet and full of things he loves, for the most part. There’s always ‘work stuff’ shoved in the back of the closet, but the apartment is otherwise bright and neat and full of art supplies and a few of his favorite plants he brought from home. He really hopes he can stay there and not have to move back - especially with these new friends he’s made in this city!

37. What are some of your character’s pet peeves? What are some things that annoy them or disgust them?

>> Clementine doesn’t tend to get annoyed, much less disgusted, but his father and some of the higher-ups in the group are people he truly and honestly abhors. People that willingly and knowingly hurt and keep such a harsh metaphorical grip on those weaker and so much more unprotected than them… there is not much in the world that Clementine has the courage to legitimately and so sincerely hate, but those kind of people are what he hates most.

It fell into tree resin and is now frozen in sparkling Cretaceous amber. Amber forms through a fossilization process where tree resin oxidizes and polymers replace the original organic compounds. This perfectly preserved fungus gnat is from the Keroplatidae family of flies and likely made its living on the dung of dinosaurs. The specimen comes from my friend @fossilsinamber, as does the incredible photography (that I have probably ruined with instagram filters lol).
