               no   one   wants   to   get   sucked   into   this   shitty   world   of   the   upside   down.      steve   would   love   to   be   oblivious   to   it   all   like   he   once   was,   but   unfortunately   for   him   he’s   very   much   involved   with   everything.      another   year,   another   shit   show,   and   to   top   it   all   off   he   was   also   without   a   girlfriend.      that   wound   was   deeper   than   any   injuries   those   demodogs   might   have   given   him.      what   can   you   do   though,   right?      except   maybe   offer   some   comfort   to   a   new   member   of   the   monster   hunting   gang.

               he   takes   a   seat   beside   kailee,   lips   pressed   together   as   he   considers   what   to   say   to   her.      how   do   you   apologize   for   something   as   big   as   the   upside   down?      not   that   any   of   it   was   his   fault   anyway,   but   he   still   felt   bad   that   another   innocent   teen   was   exposed   to   the   horrors   of   their   parallel   world.

'i have to,' he didn't give much thought to the reply. fin had come here for a reason. he was on a mission. he wanted to be of use, and he thought he could save some people with his intentions. he was a little bit scared, sure - after all, he would be looking a literal monster in the maw - but he couldn't just give up simply because he was afraid. he fiddles with his camera as he glances up at kailee. she's staring, she knows she is; it's hard not to. kailee is beautiful, absurdly so, and the glint of the light off the gem fixed to one of her teeth — fangs, she reminds herself, as though that will suddenly make her feel afraid, in danger — just draws vic's gaze to the mischievous curve of her mouth.

"why're you lookin' at me like that, huh?"

bent over , abby was quickly scribbling down the names of different plants and things she needed. she hadn't had time to take inventory during the day and needed to tell kailee what things she needed from the outside world. her hair has fallen from her ponytail and she looks a bit frazzled. she moves through the jars one at a time , inspecting it's contents before setting it down , deciding whether or not to write it on the list. she's nearly finished , expecting kailee to show up any time.

she didn't realize her shirt had ridden up in the back as she was bent over , revealing several dark , healing burn marks. they were the result of the shocklashing , and she had all but given up trying to bandage them herself. the question catches her off guard and she stands quickly , tugging her shirt down , embarrassed.

" oh , it's ---- it's nothing. " she tries to brush it off , but now she's aware of the dull sting in her back , accentuated by the pink in her cheeks. " no really , it's nothing. you don't need to worry. "

"god saved me." he smiles the same smile he's etched upon himself for thirty years. his goofy accented tone clinging to the words. he saved me. he leans in a bit with his shoulder with a bit of laughter. "i was . . . doing iniquitous things, once. ja? before i found my way home, here."

"i cried to him with my mouth, &. the high praise was on my tongue. if I had truly cherished iniquity in my heart, the lord would not have listened. but truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayers. blessed be god, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!" reciting once felt divinely true, yet now feel like filthy lies from the serpent's tongue. lying in a ditch in a poor german village, half-dead &. strung out on drugs &. ale. light shone, hand extended by the lord - offering him the true path to light, in such a coveted way of hearing such from the mouth of god. "christ saved my life, &. so i devoted myself to him without question." he speaks with hands held in lap atop uniform vestments.

               it   wasn’t   really   a   bother   exactly,   more   embarrassing   if   he’s   honest.      the   way   he   and   dustin   screamed   when   she   suddenly   appeared.      the   poor   girl   has   no   idea   why   they   had   that   reaction   and   that   given   the   situation   it   was   totally   warranted.      now   he’d   tried   to   persuade   her   to   go   back   home,   insist   that   he   was   just   making   sure   dustin   got   home   safe,   but   she   saw   right   through   those   lies.      given   they   were   headed   the   opposite   direction   of   town   when   she   stumbled   upon   them,   it   was   pretty   obvious   he   wasn’t   bringing   dustin   home.      and   them   dropping   chunks   of   food   behind   them   was   also   a   big   red   flag.      ❝   it   would   just   be   so   much   simpler   if   you   went   back   home.      believe   me,   if   i   could   be   at   home   right   now   i   one   hundred   percent   would   be.      but   that   little   shit   up   ahead   dragged   me   out   here.   ❞

incoming case... that was a level of aggression i didn’t expect,  but i can dig it. @amoresis.

'you scared th'shit out've me, so i dunno why you expected anything else!' fin wasn't normally so jumpy, but she truly had came out of no where. she couldn't have known that sneaking up on him would result in the man pulling the knife from its sheath and preparing himself to use it, though. reflexes may not be as quick as they were when he was younger, but they still did the job in these types of situations. when finley realizes it's just a young woman who's snuck up on him, he's able to breathe in and huff out, replacing the blade back to its resting place. 'you can't sneak up on people like that, kid. especially not old weirdos who're hunting monsters. you never know what could happen, y'know?'

lips part around a laugh that can only be called nervous. yes, her heart is racing, something she's been embarrassingly aware of since the moment its rhythm had picked up — and unfortunately, it isn't something she can help. kailee just looks at her and she feels her heartbeat stutter and speed up; vic wonders, really, if that will ever change. it doesn't seem to have come near even slowing, yet.

it's not fear, never has been with kailee, even after... after the stories, the hungry look in kailee's eyes sometimes that she doesn't quite think translate to desire the way she knows it.

vic clears her throat, drops her gaze as her cheeks go red. "...shut up."

Got myself some nice Amoresy spandex arm sleeves. Colour is "Very Peri" which is like a baby blue. Love these so much but need to coordinate a better outfit and not look like a total jabroni haha
