So, STORY TIME. In my quest to become a published novelist, I’ve read a lot about various novel writing processes. I read that @neilhimself handwrites all his books to sparse his words and think through sentences. Now, I definitely needed help with that, so, for Project: HARP, my MG fantasy novel, I decided to give it a shot on the first draft using a Moleskine Cahier Journal. Will definitely need more than one of these to finish the entire novel (thinking 3 in total), but including the title page and a page of reminder notes at the beginning, I’ve reached the halfway point. Or, I’m 1/6 done with my novel. Yay, progress. #amwriting #amwritingfantasy #amwritingmiddlegrade

#BulletJournal peek: So, when I do morning Pages, usually I write nonsense. Blurbs and blog post drafts or string of conscience. These last 3 days, though, I’ve experimented with writing a new MG novel. Nothing epic. In my mind, it’s aiming for 20k-30k words long. Short, concise, to the point. Maybe it’s the R.L. Stone influences since I’ve been taking his MasterClass. Anyway, over the last 3 days, this is what I’ve done. In the mornings. 15 minutes a day. Roughly 1k. 20 x 3 = 60 days, I’ll have a book. All done in the mornings over coffee and whatever ambient music podcast I have on. There’s not always one way to write a story. Got a ways to go, but laying a brick one at a time is better than none at all. #amwriting #amwritinghorror #amwritingmiddlegrade #notebooks
