Amber Nile Mermaid First of 2021's #mermay going with the wonderful prompts provided by @albabbgg for #ancientwaters2021. Finished on time and totally delighted 🙌 definitely rough around the edges but I'm new to digital art and was sitting my pharmacy exams he last 2 weeks 😅 -- In ancient times before there were any dams constructed by industrious people seeking to control the tide, the Nile was subject to drastic changes in water level with the changing seasons. In order to survive, mermaids had to evolve to suit their environment, and making it onto land is much easier than swimming back out to sea 🐊 It also gave them an interesting place to sit and watch the humans build their big stone tombs. Here’s another Mermay drawing that I finished a couple of days ago for #ancientwaters2021. The prompt was Deep Teal Mediterranean. I finished another of the #ancientwaters2021 drawings today. This used the prompt Bronze Green Swamp Mermaid and I really enjoyed it! I had to run out to get something bronze to use for the lines and dots. I’ve been looking for a good bronze pen for a while with no luck (any suggestions?). I found a MerMay challenge that is more color based that I really like called #ancientwaters2021. I wanted to do somethjng with not too many prompts that I can interpret more abstractly, so this is perfect. Today’s drawing is for the prompt Amber Nile.
