Just had quick ask specifically for the Rise boys when and if you’re feeling up to it, but I would be very curious to see how a hugging competition would go amongst the boys.

I was thinking that the boys just found out that you’re extremely touch starved and need a little bit more of some physical loving, specifically hugs. I was thinking about how do each of the boys hugs and how would they try to prove themself in a “silent” rivalry as the “champ of hugs” and who in your opinion would give the best hugs and why?

Raph: This boy starts out slow and careful when hugging you, making sure that none of his spikes get you or that he’s not hugging you too hard. But once he’s confident that you’re safe, be ready to be engulfed. Raph makes a point of covering as much of you as he can, which is a significant amount. You will be picked up, there is no choice in the matter. His favorite part is when you hug him back, wrapping your arms around his neck.

Raph is definitely paying attention to the “competition” but he doesn’t participate the way his brothers do. He feels that his hugs speak for themselves, so he doesn’t need to prove himself. He is honestly correct.

Leo: Leo grabs you and twirls you into his arms, very casually showing off how coordinated he is. He gives a big squeeze at first that takes your breath away, then it softens a bit as he nuzzles into you. There is definitely some quip involved, unless he’s been worried about you, in which case he gets a little genuine on you and tells you exactly what you need to hear. He will pout if you don’t quip back, so be prepared for that.

We all know how Leo is about competitions. He’s always bragging about how he definitely has the best hugs, and just bulldozes right over anyone who says differently. In Leo’s world, there is no question who’s winning the competition. He is, of course, only sometimes correct.

Donnie: Donnie is always willing to give a hug when it’s needed. It might start out a little awkward, because he’s not sure what you’re looking for. Once he’s got the right formula for your preferred hugs though, you’ll melt into his arms. His hugs are always firm and last longer than you would expect them to. He would never in a million years admit it, but he needs the hugs as much as you do. You’re doing him as much of a favor as he’s doing you.

Donnie likes to smugly talk about how you seek him out for hugs. Clearly his hugs are the most superior. He ignores any attempts to point out that you have to seek him out for hugs, he doesn’t normally initiate them with you.

Mikey: Every hug is a little different. Squishing your faces together. Picking you up and twirling you around. A tight squeeze from behind. No matter how he hugs you though, it’s exactly what you need. He uses his emotional intelligence ruthlessly to his advantage, making sure he knows exactly what you need. And it always ends with him heaving a happy sigh before he lets you go.

Any talk of who gives the best hugs is just going to make Mikey demonstrate how superior his hugging skills are. You will get accosted at all kinds of weird times while Mikey yells about how obviously his hugs are the best, look at how you’re snuggling in his arms right now??

As for who I think gives the best hugs? That’s hard to say. Each one is an excellent hugger and I could see myself going to a different boy depending on the day I was having. I suppose it would be a tossup between Mikey and Raph. Mikey because I like variety and you never quite know what you’re going to get. Raph because the idea of just being completely smothered in a hug sounds heavenly when you’re feeling touch starved and overwhelmed.

I think perhaps the best hugs are when it’s all four of them. Being in the center of a turtle pile sounds amazing. The best of all worlds.
