just finished www #23: on your way, and i have many thoughts. all of them make me want to cry.

ame knowing as soon as she got back to the cottage that her actions had burned a bridge, not just with the citadel but with one of her best friends, and yet still needing to complete her tasks as the witch of the world's heart. the spirits she awakens so as not to leave the cottage untended or unprotected, and the way she asks and does not take. the note she leaves, should her friends make it there.

eursulon in the fire, followed by the man in black, who is a brother in the way all spirits are brethren, but not the sibling eursulon seeks. leaving through the burrow, fighting monstrosities, and seeing the citadel raze cities to ruin beside a jungle of rot. finding the tree. his tree. the tree that is emblazoned on his shield, his coat of arms, what he fights to protect. and inside... his sister. a family she made for herself.

and suvi. hurt but still afraid that ame will die if she stays. determined to not let that happen. conversations with steel where she says that another wizard said that the wizard sly lied, or did not tell the full truth. commiseration, but suvi holds back the full truth, and suspects steel of doing the same. an airship to fly north. to protect ame, yes. but the mage armor mean that no creature or spirit or witch will ever be able to touch her again. broken trust, if not broken love.

and through it all, the thread that the citadel represents a threat to the world's heart itself, and to all spirits beyond. the council of elders wishes to neutralize that threat. grandmother wren did not.

questions moving forward: what is the true purpose of the war on gaothmai being waged by the empire? why does kalaya's family look like suvi? is suvi going to have a villain arc? i have my theories, but i'll get into those in other posts.

thank you to the worlds beyond number cast and crew for giving us this incredible story. i'm so excited to see where you take us next.

i love makoto so much but fanon does her so much better (the good parts of the fandom) because in the game her character is so lack luster. they butchered her confidant it is so borning and not even about her. they made her a cop. A COP. they pushed this "canon waifu" role onto her (before sumire came along and did it Even Worse). and it SUCKS because SHE IS SO MUCH MORE!!! SHE IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!! SHE COULD'VE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER!!! the way i feel about canon makoto is the same way i feel about the canon ryuji events post komoshida where he's horribly mistreated and used purely as comic relief: i ignore them <3 my game now <3 never happened <3 my ocs <3

You are so right. I generally apply this to all characters in p5 bc the game does such a shit job of staying consistent with character arcs and personalities. Theres a desperate need to throw in perverse jokes at the expense of female characters and a need to show that the police (as a whole) are reliable people who are not influenced by things like money and power; only the BAD cops do that. Not to mention this obvious fatphobia and homophobia but i feel likes thats a given.

But back to Makoto. Shes a victim of bad writing just like everyone else. Ryuji during the kamoshida arc was fighting with self loathing and genuine anxiety, and aside from the like. One comment on Panthers outfit in the metaverse, hes more than well behaved. All of that is shelved as soon as Kamoshida is gone and replaced with him being weird comic relief (and the focus of alot of sexual jokes that were nonexistent in the beginning of the game). Anns arc about self love and empowerment is completely dropped as soon as the nasty bad guy is put away (so that its good to be weird about her w the Good Guys). Makoto loses her a chunk of her personality to be the mature waifu which is INSANE to me bc shes like. Not okay or normal at all 😭😭😭 she THINKS shes responsible and so does everyone else on her team, but its an act! She doesnt know shit! And she doesnt know that she doesnt know shit bc shes respectful and adults dont care about anything as long as u respect them!

Its very telling that for literally every single thief (and goro), you can see the exact moment the writers gave up on adding anything of worth to their characters outside of the social links. Its like they didnt know what to even do w the characters at their disposal after their main arcs were complete. No mention of friends hanging out without you, no mention of having group hangouts. Everyone is treated as a core, important member of the friend group DURING their arc, but outside of it, they are acquaintances at best. Theres nothing in the game that convinces you that these guys are legitimately friends who care for each other and do Friend Things. And i describe it like that bc there IS a game that treats them all as friends, and its strikers! Strikers/Scramble genuinely feels like the game p5 wanted to be; a road trip w your team where they stay up at night talking to each other and hanging out and doing things together that dont necessarily include you, the player. Its refreshing and lovely but it sucks that u get that kind of attention to detail in a ‘spinoff’ title

So how you feel about a yax (yakko warner x max goof) beauty and the beast au? A fairy (any character you want whoever to be) cursed the Beast (Yakko) and would work to make the beauty (Max) and the beast (Yakko) from falling in love. I like to see the antagonism in Cocteau's and Disney's take on the story, that of a jilted lover of Belle's, actually adding to the themes of the story and I'm a sucker of characters just being asses because they can LMAO and having the protags overcome them anyway.

i think this shit is crack that's a little too much for me to keep up with, but not like in a bad way??? just a little too much for my tastes in general lmao

Went out to see my mom today, and we dropped by Michaels to pick up canvases for Artemis paintings, and I got some new paint colors while I was there.

Also got a few of those clear glass ornaments that you can put stuff in yourself to make into something? I'm thinking I might see if I can put some eye feathers from my boys in them (I mean I know I CAN I just don't know how good it will LOOK), with their names written on to remember them. If it works well, I might offer some up for sale, too. Stan's eyes are always so full of love with their little white heart in the middle.

We also ran by jo-ann fabrics and grabbed some Very On Sale fleece ($4.25 for almost 2 yards, which made 6 large square hammocks and 4 corner hammocks and one long, rectangular strip I'll use across the cage), and she sewed me up some quick rat hammocks for the boys. I forgot to grab some kind of ribbon for the core attachments, so I'm gonna drive back tomorrow with a loaf of fresh sourdough to trade for another few minutes with her sewing machine.

WHICH IS ANOTHER COOL THING. I gifted my second sourdough starer to my SIL (@teameagleworks) for new year's, leaving me with just Tex for now (bless, Tex is enough to take care of rn). Who!!! is finally ready!!! to start making actual bread. So tonight I let Sark pick a recipe, and I mixed it up in a double batch so I could have one loaf for him and one for my dad. It didn't take much starter, which was cool. Fingers crossed that it comes out okay tomorrow morning.

YALL- so the Halloween update on the welcome home website, right?

In the update in the merchandise section theres an audio and in it Sally tells a spooky story talking about how there's a monster roaming outside the streets at night in home and that’s why theres so few neighbors that live there.

I thought of something though

What if there were more neighbors at one point, but the remaining neighbors forgot they existed? All the welcome home ocs ever created lived there once upon a time, but maybe they went off script too much and a certain house didn’t like that. Home would have Wally invite them out at night for something and when they agreed to it and went to go meet him, home would take that opportunity to get rid of the neighbor and erase the others memories of the neighbor ever existing.

Sally had accidentally saw this and home took care of it, hearing her gasp after the neighbor was dealt with. She didn’t remember it for a while, but the memory started to resurface when she was trying to think of something spooky to tell the others. She doesn’t remember who it was or any of the details, just remembers that whoever it was….was never seen again.

The fact that at that part in the audio when she tells it all ends up corrupted is a little sus to me to too but ya know
