Dream smp timestamp | Dawn of the 16th

Oh hello

so a friend of mine just started on the mcyt fandom and isn’t that familiar with the lore and i’ve been helping him catch up and we both watched sad-ist’s newest animation and he didn’t understand but still loved it nontheless and i procastinated and didn’t want to do my school work so i made him like timestamps for the animation explaining what’s happening and what’s the context in each scene it’s under the cut and if there are any mistakes pls tell me so i can change it to the correct information pr any info that can be added/any that i missed (also he already knows the charas and a few bits of lore so there’s no explanation on who’s who)

0:00-0:04 is the talk of tommy and wilbur during exile planning the revolution 0:05-0:07 is the bench that's like the friendship place of tubbo and tommy (their special hangout place) 0:08-0:11 is the caravan ruins of the first war 0:12-0:14 is the sapnap's fish which he had to release due to some fighting with tommy 0:15-0:18 shows the castle eret made (the dream smp team's castle essentially) 0:19-0:27 shows eret (the current king at the time of the dream smp team) and dream talking about respect and backstabing, which i think is funnny cuz he was the first ever traitor of lmanbrg and became king after dream even if dream was supposed to give the crown to george 0:28-0:40 shows tubbo overlooking lmanburg (he is a known traitor to schlatt at this point in time and he's planning the revolution with tommy) and then it pans to quackity (former fiance of schlatt and new traitor to him as well) joining tubbo in overlooking lmanburg 0:40-0:47 the dialogue between eret and dream continue 0:50 shows the declaration of independance of lmanburg made by the first president (wilbur) if u look closely u can see a big SUCK IT GREEN BOY on the side cuz wil did a joke while writing it XD 0:52 shows tommy overlooking the declaration 0:53-0:55 is the founding members of lmanburg before the first war 0:56 are tommy's discs (which started the first war and the current war that takes place after the animation's timeline) which are like aa keypoint to tommys chara 0:57-0:58 - tommy gives tubbo the discs as like a sign of trust and they do this in the bench place shown earlier 1:00 shows the aftermath of the explosion seen later 1:02 is the aftermath of the fight due to the terrorism act done by technoblade 1:03 shows dream and techno side by side with tommy's voice saying "the best pvp players" and then it pans to tommy saying to tubbo that it's basically them against dream (the literal puppet master of the smp) 1:10 dream leaves the palace 1:13 shows the election stand and basically the white house of manburg (lmanburg and manburg are diff due to schlatt being the dictator of lmanburh turing it into manburg also teh structures are diff as well in per era) and then it just zooms out idk what the symbolism of the fallen chair is but i think it's the chair wilbur and tommy sat in when they got exiled 1:19 the first appearance of philza who is the canon dad of techno, wilbur, and tommy (phil's chara is shown to have wings due to his experience in mc with hard mode where he always has the elytra on and also it's always white so the raven transition seems to mean about wilbur having dark wings, i think, not really sure but it's my interpretation to it) 1:20 is where techno shows his underground bunk to pogtopia (the rebelling/revolution party) which literally has so much shit 1:21 -1:30 is the bunker with the stuff needed in a fight, each chest is filled with stacks of one item ex. one chest is full with strength pots and the other with flaming arrows 1:30-1:31 shows techno saying the most iconic line, and also shows how his chara is an anarchist (someone who doesnt like any form of government) sadist seems to like remind people that hes basically chaotic in this scene 1:31-1:32 shows pogtopia getting the loot with an easter egg of tubbo taking all the emeralds of a chest (he actually did this on stream so kudos to sadist for that little detail) 1:37 techno actually gives a powerful enchanted sword to tommy personally and then the awesomme af transition of to tommy leading the pogtopia to kill schlatt 1:42 shows dream preparing 1:43-1:47 shows the all three parties, the first is lmanburg (maburg) party with schlatt and dream takig charge, second being the pogtopia party and if u noticed wilbur is the only one not happy and the only one without armor because at this point he became insane and want to blow up lmanburg but people do not know, the lastly the neutral party which showcases badboyhalo talking about that it doesnt really matter with flames in the bg (i think this references to the egg which is seen later in the future but at this point in time the weird egg is just starting to grow with bbh tending to it which made him go crazy up until the whole skeppy thing (skepp is bbh's best friend so yea)) 1:48 is the buttonn to blow up lmanburg but wilbur hasnt pushed it yet cuz he is still trying to figjt the urge to push it 1:49-1:53 wilbur is losing his mind and is on the verge of destroying everything with his black wings showing to represent his dad which shows up on the next scene 1:54-1:55 phil shows up and wibur doesnt know what to with his dad confronting him and knowing that phil wouldnt approve and would try to stop him 1:57 shows the bridge where pogtopia is running through to get to schlatt and it's iconic due to the fact of the coinicidence it being a sunset 2:00 is the start of the fight with an explosion then the fight sequence between pogtopia and lmanburg happen to get to to schlatt 2:10 happens and u see schlatt on the ground at this point in time hes an alcholic and hes drunk and surroounded by once friends turned enemy due to his tyranny 2:18 fundy explains why he joined pogtopia to schlatt 2:22 schlatt dies losing his last canon life due to a heart attack, tbh im suprised on how sad-ist made this so serious but in teh streams he dies while saying to quackity that his ass his flat or i quote "flatty patty" 2:23 tubbo is made the new president by wilbur 2:24 everyone rejoices but technoblade cuz he joined and helped pogtopia becauase he thought that after they won there would be no more governemnt 2:25-2:45 the act of terrorism of technoblade starts with him explaining his beliefs as an anarchist, he threatens tubbo which is serious because tubbo has only one last canon life left and tommy goes to fight him to save tubbo 2:45 pogtopia fights technoblade 2:47 we go back to wilbur where the button is that will start all the tnt hidden underneath lmanburg 2:48 the fight is still going on outside and people are unaware of what wilbur is going to do 2:51 wilbur quotes the first ever traitor: eret saying "it was never meant to be" and phil is shocked and doesnt do anything to stop wilbur from hitting the button 3:02 he couldnt stop wilbur pressing the button which in turn explodes everything even half the room but phil was able to protect wilbur from the blast 3:04-3:05 teh explosion happens and disrupts the fight between techno and pogtopia 3:06 tommy's closup to his reaction of seeing the land he fought for blowing up 3:07-3:09 wilbur hands philza his sword and says to kill him but phil refuses saying that he cant kill his own son 3:11 the other;s reaction seeing phil and wilbur in the room after the explosion dies down 3:12 tubbo is in shock 3:13 dream is watching in triumph as he sees wilbur blow everything up 3:15 techno prepares the withers //also fun fact when phil killed will he finds out techno is the traitor they were warned about who will bring destruction and chaos during the earlier stages of the revolution, it isnt wilbur as he exploded everything on his own volition rather than teaming up with dream like what techno did 3:16 techno's speech starts alluding to a previous conversation he had with tommy where he warns tommy that being a hero will result in a gruesome death 3:18-3:20 different scenes pop up, the first being tommy's discs being held by someone with armor (i think its dream due to the fact he has the discs later in the timeline to threaten tommy and lmanburg), the second being someone in a lmanburg uniform (not sure if its tommy or tubbo but if its tommy it seems like it'sthe exile), 3rd is the throne room with george on the throne and dream and callahan at his side , then last is the scene of the newest members, captain puffy, connor, and ranboo joining with emphasis on ranboo as he is important to the plot later on the sequence also shows phil holding a now deceased wilbur crying and then techno realeses the withers on everyone (withers are very difficult to kill and cause so mch chaos even if its alone and its hard to summon it as you have to farm for wither skulls which is also hard so the fact techno has enough to make two is a big deal) 3:27 shows the lmanburg tree, it is a tree that represents lmanburg and has been there for both wars and is extremely important to the history of the nation and thats that :3

Rimfire Bubble bath (ch.5)

OKKKKKKKkkkkkayyyyy so, Emet and Wol get into some risky bathtub business. No smut in this chapter but the next one will have explicit content. I am writing it in a separate chapter so those who dont want to read it can skip over it but still get some teasing from Emet in this chapter.

Normally I would insert a Amarout chapter here BUT i only have one more planned so ill save it for a bit later on down the story line. Enjoy!

FFXIV EMET SELCH X MCH WOL

“The tragedy that had befallen you is of your own making. Devine retribution for your defiance. The heavens have bequeathed to you a benevolent savior, me! I offer you freedom from pain and suffering, a paradise where man and sin eater might live in peace and harmony..” ~ Vauthry

The hero growled through clenched teeth with a rage that was uncharacteristic of her usual cool exterior. Right now, she just couldn’t hold it back. Her itching trigger finger reached for her musketoon with a arm that dripped with fresh blood from a shoulder wound gone undressed. Bullets flew from her gun at the dirigibles that flew overhead with Vauthrys guttural and all too arrogant voice coming over loudspeakers to castigate all the poor folk below who had managed to survive his sin eaters onslaught. She knew the bullets would not be of any avail but she prayed that one would find Vauthry’s heart and put an end to that bastard’s life. She kept firing until her bullets ran out and her arm throbbed with too much pain to keep the musket raised.

Around her, the moans and cries of injured Crystarium soldiers echoed in the night as they mourned for fallen friends and comrades. The attack was unwarranted, took them completely off guard and was meant to destabilize and demoralize them. It worked. Even Lyna, the Viera knight, was about to break into tears though she bit her lip hard enough to draw blood in an attempt not to. It was going to be a long night of pain and tears for all them who had survived the evening’s bloodbath.

Someone’s hand reached for her Musketoon as another one gently wrapped around her waist, easing the rage out of her. Emet Selch had appeared at her side, gently taking her gun from her burning hands and whispering soft words into her ear. “You’re injured, inamorata. Relax….it is over.” Only with those words did she realize how much her lungs burned as she hyperventilated, her muscles locked up from adrenaline and sweat dripped from her brow. Like a tight coil she slowly unwound and Emet caught her in his arms, cradling her in his chest as he helped her to sit on the ground.

Her companions ran to and fro helping the injured, pausing slightly to stare at the Ascian and the hero together in a odd moment of intimacy, but having to put it out of their minds as injured soldiers took priority. “There is not much more you can do here tonight.” Emet pointed out.

“I can’t leave until everyone has been removed from the battlefield.” She said in a tired breathy voice.

“I would not expect you to.” Emet said. “But you are no worse for wear at the moment, so I will ever be watching you from the shadows. Whistle for me should you need me.” And with that he disappeared in a cloud of black aether.

By the time the entire entourage returned to the Crystarium and the chirurgeons had their way with the hero, she had not the strength to even stand on her own. And so it was out of pity, sort of, that Emet Selch carried the exhausted Machinist back to her room in the pendants. She was scarcely conscious when the door to her room opened and he stepped inside with her in his arms, face buried in the side of his coat. Her bandaged shoulder was left oncovered with her white poet shirt draped around the rest of her for modesty’s sake. He set her down gently on the bed, stretching her out so she was straight on her back as he plucked off her antiquated boots and tried to make her more comfortable. She groaned from both pain and sheer fatigue.

“Hero, you need to bathe.” Emet said.

“Are you saying I smell bad?” She yawned.

“To put it gently, you smell like something that may have come out of Vauthry’s gullet.”

“Fuck you.”

There was a small pause.

“You’d find me a willing participant if that was what you desired.” He said in his charming seductive voice.

“Too tired to bother…”She groaned.

“Then allow me the pleasure of seeing you to a hot bath at the very least.” He snapped his fingers and a long claw footed tub appeared in the room along with a fluffy white robe hanging on a coat rack. She made some mangled noise in protest as he looked down at her. She was holding her arms out to him the way a pouty child might to a parent. It was unexpectedly adorable.

“I’m giving you permission to bathe me, nothing more. So no funny business.” She warned.

“I wouldn’t dream of it.”

“Yeah you would.”

“Only a little.” He admitted as he helped her stand up and walked her to the tub. She cleared her throat and motioned for him to turn around which he obliged, though not without a roll of his eyes and a loud sigh. Quickly stripping from her clothes and tossing them in a pile to the floor, she climbed into the water and drew her knees up to chest. Her shoulder stung but she managed to not gasp as the hot water caressed it.

“You can turn around now.” She said and he did just so, having a good look at her before taking off his heavy jacket and tossing it on the bed. Rolling up his sleeves, he knelt behind her and brushed her hair to one side, the tips of his fingers grazing her neck as she gasped.

“What are you…?”

“Hush!” he said sternly as he once again snapped his fingers and a bar of soap appeared in one hand, a small handled bucket in the other. He doused her with water as she cried out at the hot sudden sensation and then worked the soap into a lather in her hair. Working his fingers through her scalp thoroughly. She thanked the gods he was not facing her while he administered his ministrations, because she was dead sure her facial expression was nothing short of scandalous. She had never had anyone bathe her, so the sensation of being this pampered was wholly unknown and frankly it made the pit of her stomach tingle.

With her hair now rinsed and clean, Emet’s hands worked their way to her trapezius muscles and he gently pressed into them with his thumbs. She gasped in a way that was a tad embarrassing as her back arched involuntarily, head threw back and knees dropped below the water. Oh twelve have mercy she just exposed her whole front side the Ascian looking over her shoulders. Indeed, he saw the entire kit and kaboodle and his face told her he wasn’t displeased with what he saw. Her cheeks flushed and she quickly scrunched herself back up into ball and buried her face in her knees.

“You are so sensitive, my dear.” He teased.

“Shut up. I’ve never had a massage before.” She grunted.

“Never ever?”

“Who’s got time for that?”

“My my. This is a bit of a problem, if I can’t even touch you without you making such noises and faces.” He coo’d.

“Knock it off, Emet Selch. I’m embarrassed enough as it is.”

“Let’s try something else then. As much as I would love to see more of your erotic expressions….” He moved positions to the side of the tub and took her hand in his. Then he began to rub the flesh around her palm and wrist, the areas where she held her gun and always chaffed or had callouses. She turned her face to side so she could watch him, the position less intimate so she felt more comfortable. Letting out a long sigh, she relaxed and let him massage up the length of her arm .

If she were any other women, she supposed she could take the Ascian to bed, indulge in her self desires, revel in passions of a one night stand. But she was never that type of person. In a sense it was frustrating how others could go through life consumed by their own desires and she could not. She was the warrior of light after all, someone was always going to need her to be at her best so she couldn’t take risks the way others could. She also had her little girl to think about. Come to think on it, Emet also had children in one point in time and she wondered if he had even enjoyed it or cared for his family. He outlived them all with the exception of Varis and Zenos, but it was obvious upon meeting them both that there was no love lost for their Great Grand Sire.

“You keep sighing.” Emet pointed out. “That usually means you have a question to ask or something pressing on your mind.”

“Its nothing.” She said sadly.

“Obviously not if you keep making faces like that.”

“I make a lot of strange faces, as you’ve already noticed.” She chuckled.

“You also keep many things to yourself.”

“No more so than you.”

“As an Ascian I am entitled to many secrets.”

“As a woman, I’m entitled to mine.”

“You’re not as tired as I thought if you can talk back like that.” He rolled his eyes and stood up quickly, however the lady refused to relinquish his hand and yanked him back sharply without thinking. His feet slipped out from under him on the wet floor and he came crashing down into the water on top of the hero. When he surfaced he had the warrior precariously pinned beneath him and hands on either side of her head gripping the tubs rim.

“Oh Hero.” He practically moaned as he gazed down at her. “You need only ask if you wished me to join you.”

She panicked and slapped her hands over his eyes so he couldn’t see anything. “You’ve got the wrong idea!”

“You were trying to drown me then?” He asked with hands still over his eyes.

“It was reflex! I wasn’t thinking!”

He pushed against her hands and swooped down till his face hovered over her collar bone. “So then you secretly want me oh so much you’re limbs act without reason?” His breath tickled her and she squirmed against the tub, pushing herself back against the porcelain as far as she could. His body weight on her legs kept her from being able to escape any further or jump out of the tub.

“I give you an inch and you take a bloody mile!” She complained and kept her hands firmly planted on his face and tried to push him back. Its was futile either way, he could easily overpower her if he wanted. Smarmy Ascian that he was though, he wasn’t going to let her go without a thorough teasing. “Wasn’t our agreement that you wouldn’t coerce or force me to do anything?”

“I am a man of my word. So far you have not said no or stop or tried to put a gun to my head or bullet through me.” He pointed out and pushed again to reach the hero’s neck where he planted a small kiss.

She saw stars for a moment and tried to get her wits about her. Just say NO, just say NO , Just say NO, she chanted in her mind but with each kiss he planted up her neck she felt her mind going more and more blank. If she didn’t figure out a way or excuse to get out of this, she would make love to him then and there and that would cause more problems than solve.

“I don’t see why you resist it so.” He breathed against her neck between kisses. “There is nothing wrong with indulging yourself once in a while. You deserve to have your needs met as much as any other creature.” He nipped at her jawline and she made a small noise. “What I am offering you is oh so simple. Pleasure. No hidden motives, no scheming, no lies, just simple pleasure for two weary souls long since denied any respite in this cruel and blasphemous world.”

The twelve be damned! He knew all the right words and just where to whisper them! And so reluctantly, against her better judgement she dropped her hands from his eyes. His yellow half lidded gaze was the end of her. She did want him the way any woman would want a man. She wanted to experience him and everything that he was despite him being an Ascian. Gods, it had been ages since she wanted anyone, felt anything for any man, and of all beings for her to lust after it had to be Emet Selch.

“The fates are undeniably cruel….”She conceded, something sad filling her eyes as she looked down for a moment but he caught her chin in his fingers and forced her to look up at him again.

“For tonight, it need not be. Lie with me.” He whispered.

She closed her eyes and felt herself slipping away, carried off by the currents of lust and longing. She took in a shaky breath and replied. “Yes….”

ok im a Lay Zee gorl n dnt wna waste any mre time redoin lana’s intro so im pastin in her old one so i cn hop right to interactions. the only thing i can think tht needs to b added is the stuff abt danny nielsen (an evil npc of mine bc im a sadist) who recently beat up zeke van doren (full name this is Official feel like im writin a journalist article) bc he found out him n lana slept tgether n her n danny were kind of dating if....u can call his idea of romance tht. danny is in custody nw bt its a whole Thing like.... is prob... known around lockwood bc it ws a pretty intense..... thing tht happened n danny ws quite a popular senior

grew up in a big house in albany, NY, bt also spent time all over the place n was in the city a lot

okay so her mum is an old money socialite / three time campaign model way back when n her dad is a big record label mogul. he owns a label called jameson records n they repped a few big rock bands back in the eighties, altho they’re mostly known for ‘poppy injects’ whose lead singer had a big heroin scandal tht brought down his career. lana p much grew up around musicians snorting lines instead of spooning down cereal fr breakfast n her parents were v much absent her whole life

they’re pretty well off obviously n bc of her relation to such a big music industry figure she’s hung out w a fair few relatively high rep ppl thru her teens. she amassed kind of an instagram following mainly fr her style (v penny lane-esque in some aspects aka lots of fur cuff trimmed jackets bt then also jst…. a wild combination of everything honestly. pastel faux fur coats, seventies style platforms, flame red cowboy boots, pink fishnet tights n glitter used like highlight Everywhere) n bc she’s undeniably very pretty

her parents always kind of jst… didn’t like her. it was v clear that she was an accident after her older brother caleb n that even when they just had him alone they weren’t cut out for parenthood. they always kind of jst… ignored her n hoped she’d go away. she had to mke herself microwave meals when she ws only like 12 bc they’d forget to get her anything. once she went like 6 days without her mum even looking her in the eyes once

despite this tho!!! she’s always been insanely close w her brother caleb. he’s her whole world. thts why when he decided to sign up to the army she ws understandably scared bt supported him after initially bein mad tht he ws leavin her all alone. bt then he wound up getting discharged under grounds of severe ptsd when he witnessed his best friend die in an explosion tht took place in a shock raid. caleb returned home n he was never the same n lana kind of felt like he’d died out there too. he’s in n out of hospital a lot n it’s rly hard on her bt she doesn’t tlk abt it to anyone rly

growing up lana was always a huge social butterfly. jst literally…. knew everyone n everyone definitely knew her. she ws one of those girls tht ws kind of impossible to ignore or forget. very animated, always made u feel like u were the centre of the universe whenever she spoke to u, always made it feel like u were best friends even if ud only spoken to her once. she has this magnetic way abt her tht is kind of hard to find in real life. it’s something ud only rly expect out of a movie character n she like. deliberately puts tht on sort of. kind of.... is always playing A Role of the person tht she wants to b seen as

she’s always been insatiably spontaneous n adventurous. always doing something weird n wild every weekend. she has ten thousand stories tht always earn a laugh or a gasp over how ridiculously absurd they r

anyway so after caleb got back he was rly withdrawn n depressed. he shut lana out n was kind of harsh to her a lot of the time, always telling her to leave him alone or pushing her away. it didnt help either tht lana had a rly traumatic experience w some of her dad’s colleagues at the label when she ws 16 n he was away n she cldnt even tell him abt it once he was bk bc of his own traumas. she kind of jst shut it all in n kept it to herself

this obviously?? made her spiral a lot. she was already a girl tht loved sex (she’d only rly done foreplay before tho) but since her trauma it got…. completely out of hand. it got to a point where she couldnt rly go 2 days without it, probably not even 1. her lowest point has probably been scrolling thru craiglist for anonymous encounters n meeting up w strangers on there fr a quick fuck jst for the thrill even tho it’s insanely dangerous n she cld wind up getting herself killed. it’s v clear at this point tht she has a sex addiction whether she’s ever admitted it or not

As he strode over, Luo Binghe called out in high spirits: “Shizun!”

Shen Qingqiu was hidden in the dark, so this was naturally not directed at him. He turned his gaze and indeed saw someone wearing a green robe standing at the end of the stone-paved road.

Luo Binghe obediently tried again. As a result, this time Luo Binghe did not ram into him. Instead, with a slip of his feet, he directly hugged Shen Qingqiu’s waist.

Shen Qingqiu’s first reaction wasn’t to take to his heels and start sprinting for it, but to stay in place and adjust his facial expression to his most natural.

Seeing him leaning against the bamboo and staring blankly, Shen Qingqiu remembered his dazed appearance on the head seat during the day, all alone. Then upon comparing this version of him with the impressive commanding splendor of the original work, Shen Qingqiu couldn’t help but feel a little sad.

Shen Qingqiu’s heart was currently filled with sympathy for Luo Binghe, so he pleasantly and amiably replied: “Okay. What do you want to talk about?”

He didn’t expect that after he spoke up, Luo Binghe instead froze. He instantly stood up straight and left the bamboo, a trace of disbelief showing on his face.

Oops. Shen Qingqiu thought: Does he think this reaction isn’t right?

Shen Qingqiu’s expression solidified as he thought: Isn’t this a bit too close?

Immediately afterward, his right wrist was also firmly grasped. Suddenly looking up, Shen Qingqiu felt his vision blur.

As if gently touched by feathers, his cheeks were swept. A strange sensation came from his lips, both soft and slightly cool.

His eyes opened wide, meeting Luo Binghe’s dark pupils. His throat bobbed with difficulty.

He wanted to speak but had no way to open his mouth. Because his mouth was bitten.

Khaida’s default verse ALWAYS intertwines with @reasoningruffles‘s default verse

Khaida Ahmahno was born in the Urth’s Gift area to the leader of a Keeper village and her merchant ‘mate’. Though her parentage was odd [seeing as her father was the only male her mother would have kittens with], her mother raised her fairly traditionally. Khaida railed against the norm, however, taking to magic more than the bow. Her closest friend growing up was a half-Keeper, half-Seeker ‘cousin’ named Brodi’a, and when he left the village, she grew ever more troublesome for her mother. She spent more and more time with her father, seeing the parts of the Shroud beyond their little villages.

Eventually, she and her mother had a falling out involving her magic and her refusal to bring kittens into a post-Calamity world, and she took to the life of an adventurer, becoming a part of the Thaumaturgy Guild in Ul’dah and rising up as a star pupil to the Coco brothers. From there...she began herr path to becoming one of the famed ‘Warriors of Light’.

Canon Classes

THM/BLM: Follows THM and BLM storylines.

ARC: Does not follow storyline, was raised learning the art of hunting with a bow.

ACN/SCH: Does not follow storyline, learned it in her quest to know as much magic as she can. Fairy is named Chrysanthemum.

AST: Follows storyline. Has the AST Anima weapon.

CNJ: Knows a small amount, does not follow storyline.

RDM: Follows storyline.

DRK: Does not follow storyline. Is not ‘canon’ DRK, as it is a version that allows her to ‘vent’ voidtaint.

MCH: Picked it up shortly after @reasoningruffles, was extremely curious about the way it mixed magic and machinery.

Must Know Events

Down into the Black: After the events of 3.2, Khaida cast aside her BLM soulstone and weapon and focused solely on healing magics and MCH; the losses piling up were too much for her to handle. However, this meant the voidtaint on her soul from her Mhachi ancestor had no way to vent, and it kept building and building [the Shadow of Mhach events did not help at all]. She kept her growing instability and the ‘cracks’ on her skin hidden from others. It all came to a head during 3.5; she found out her childhood friend [recently reunited with] was a pawn of the Ascians, the Wall happened, and then Dun Scaith’s events [especially when @diabclos is involved] lead to her having a very violent and explosive breakdown that had the same ancestor who was the source of the voidtaint knocking her ass out. For a few months, Khaida was in the care of her ancestor and the Stillglade Fane while she and Brodi’a [now Brody] were recovering. Khaida was part of the meetings in 3.55, but not the trip to awaken Omega. Oh did she feel the fight between Omega and Shinryu, though, being extremely aether-sensitive at the time.

Bearer of the Ame-no-Habakiri: After Zenos’ suicide, Khaida was handed the temperamental blade Yotsuyu had gifted him from the Red Kojin’s treasure vault. Of all the Scions, Khaida was the one with the best bet to keep it under control, and keep it out of the Empire’s hands. Though the ‘recovered’ Zenos wields a replica, Khaida uses the real thing as her DRK weapon, reminding it that she is the one in control and that her void-tainted aura will always overpower its.

Important NPCs

Kahzu Ahmahno: Khaida’s mother, who she has slowly been repairing her relationship with. A very stubborn woman who is slowly letting go of her xenophobic ways after truly seeing the state the world is in after the Calamity, and all her daughter has done and given up for the world. Pale skinned, short black hair, dark blue eyes. Dresses very practically in dark colors.

Kenj’a Cohrce: Khaida’s father, and head of the merchant caravan known as The Swan’s Sundries. Tall for a Keeper [around 6′], shares Khaida’s darker skin and ice blue eyes, has black hair he keeps short and slicked back with some grey streaked through it because of his age. Keeps clean-shaven, is a little on the ‘pudgy’ side, dresses in a manner that is both practical and shows he’s done well for himself as a merchant. He and Khaida are close, and he’s likely to ‘Dad’ on anyone she’s close to. [He’s also very protective of @theleglesscoward, and kicks himself for not pulling the boy into his caravan before he could fall to the fate he did.]

Kimhi Ahmahno: Khaida’s younger sister, and the one most likely to take her place as ‘heir’ of the clan. They’re still talking about it.

Uigite: Khaida’s direwolf pup who....isn’t exactly a pup anymore. He’s very definitely tamed, however, and is a sweetheart so long as you aren’t trying to harm his people. Be warned, however; despite his size, he’s convinced he’s still a lapdog.

Moh Esh: Khaida...somewhat accidentally adopted this young dragonet during an excursion to the Churning Mists after Niddhog’s defeat. It’s certain that Moh Esh is of Niddy’s brood, but the curious little one was not drowned in his sorrow and rage. They’re intent on staying away from this ‘gender nonsense’, and can be found in their true form or running around pretending to be an androgynous little miq’itten.

Quartz: The spirit of Khaida’s anima weapon, Quartz is rarely far from Khaida, and is a sweet little thing, if quite a bit curious about how battles and wars work.

Chrysanthemum: Khaida’s fairy, a sweet thing with none of her memories. Was likely a brand new fairy brought into being shortly before the War.

Íomhá Neamhní: Khaida’s ancestor who slept in stasis for many, many years. She was Mhachi, and a voidmage who reached too far into the Black and came away from it voidtainted. She’s the one who found a way for Khaida to vent large amounts of voidtaint from her body, and brought her to heel when her taint went out of control. She likes to fluster Khaida by asking her when she’s getting more descendants.

Important Relationships with other Characters Universal in this Verse

@reasoningruffles/Gracie Sournois: Gracie is Khaida’s ‘wind and sky’, the first person to wiggle into her heart after leaving the Shroud, the one she first was able to truly say ‘I love you’ to. Gracie is an important part of Khaida’s life, enough that they have had a Ceremony of Eternal Bonding, and anyone becoming romantically involved with Khaida must understand that Gracie is always going to be a part of Khaida’s life.

Thancred: Khaida started in Ul’dah, and as such Thancred was ‘her Scion’. He was the one who extended the offer of joining the Scions to her, who saw her start from the beginning. She does harbor romantic affections for him along with the platonic, though whether those are returned or not depends on Thanny’s player.

The Coco Brothers: Khaida is intensely protective of her teachers and their youngest brother, after all they’ve been through.

Nanamo ul Namo: Khaida is loyal to the Sultana, and even though she still bristles at much of Ul’dah after the Bloody Banquet, she still remains extremely loyal to the Sultana and the Flames.

The BLM Quest Folks: Again, after all they’ve been through, Khaida is intensely protective of them.

Minfilia: Khaida is just as loyal to Minfi and her cause as she is to Nanamo. 3.2 hurt.

Alphinaud: Khaida sees him as a younger brother, and is extremely nervous with him being gone after 4.3.

The Crown Gemworks: These are her ‘children’, you will not harm them or she will end you. aka, she takes having been their mentor VERY SERIOUSLY.

Haurchefant Greystone: He smiled at her when she was still hurting and angry, and she will never, ever forget that. Losing him was a blow that started her downfall in 3.5.

The Fortemps: They’re a second family to her, and she dearly loves her adoptive father and brothers. Even if Emmy makes her SIGH HEAVILY sometimes.

Stephanivien de Haillenarte: Like Haurchefant, he was a much needed ray of sunshine at just the right time. He is still one of the people she’s most likely to go hide with after something has gone wrong.

Joye Ninefaces: JOYE IS A GODSDAMNED DELIGHT AND KHAIDA WILL PUNCH ANYONE JOYE HASN’T ALREADY SHOT HERSELF.

isak leans over, grabbing the back of Even’s neck and pulling him closer; spilling his beer all over the floor in the process.

“DIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKK”

Isak finishes in a whisper that isn’t really a whisper at all because he was still yelling at full volume; but Even winks and zips his lips like he was in on a secret only they knew about.

Isak’s eyes are glazed and droopy but still full of the same hungry fire that causes goosebumps to spread over Even’s body; his cheeks a bright pinky hue, and his smile sloppy and relaxed.

warmth spreads through Even as he gently brushes his fingertips across his boyfriends drunk blush.

“You are such a messy drunk” Even laughs, watching as Isak sticks his tongue out at him in reply.

“I, ISAK VALTERSEN” he grabs onto the back of the couch trying to lazily lift himself up, and failing as he stumbles back onto his boyfriend.

“AM THE MASTER OF BEING NOT DRUNK” he finishes, pointing at Even with his practically empty beer bottle.

Even nods “you’re right baby, you are completely handling this well. i’m sorry”

Isak lifts his head up triumphantly.

“you should be”

Even smiles fondly at the love of his life - granted the love of his life is a genius…..but he’s also the kind of guy who ties a Christmas tree star to his head and dances to santa baby on the table in front of every single one of their friends.

How did he get so lucky?

“OKAY okay who’s singing about dicks over here?” Eva shouts as she makes her way over to the couch, her face covered in glitter and her hair half tied up in gold tinsel and half cascading down her shoulders.

“EVAAAAAAAAA” Isak shouts back, practically flinging himself in her arms.

“ISAAAAAAAAAK” Eva sings, stumbling as she wraps her arm around him.

“awww look at the drunk buddies” Magnus says over Even’s shoulder, wearing a christmas ornament on each ear like earrings. “they’re so cute” Jonas adds, as Eva begins singing “baby its cold outside” and Isak does his parts by rapping the words. “i said BABY”

he points at Even who feigns schock as he mouths “me?”

“ITS’S COLD OUTSIDE

MY MAMA

WANTS ME

BA BA BA BA

BAAAAACK”

suddenly everyone in the room is watching his baby’s rap.

“please tell me someone is recording this” Sana says with a smirk on her lips

“Sanaaaa” Noora warns.

“hey! if it wasn’t for my blackmailing hobby he’d still be deep throating coke bottles”

“AYYYYY” Mahdi high fives her while everyones chuckles.

Even shakes his head in amusement and raises his phone for them to see. “it hurts that you even doubt for a second i wouldn’t be planning on keeping this forever”

out of the blue a strand of tinsel is hitting him in the face.

he looks up to see a smug isak on the other end of it.

“oh you wanna play?” Even asks grinning back at his beautiful smiling boyfriend.

Even grabs a hold of his end and pulls and pulls and pulls, bringing his golden boy towards him bit by bit.

by the time he makes it to the couch Even gives the tinsel one last tug which causes Isak to fall in his lap.

Isak wraps his arms around Even’s neck and breathes him in as his nose grazes against his cheek and his forehead presses against his own.

“hi” Even whispers

“I REALLY CAN’T STAAAAAAY” Isak sings right in his ear which both deafens Even and makes him burst into bright, intense laughter that fills the entire room.

Isak presses his lips against Even’s and then says without removing his mouth, “have i ever told you i love it when you laugh”

Even grins “once or twice”

Isak melts in his embrace and rests his head against the nook of Even’s neck. “good” he says quietly before falling asleep in Even’s arms.

There is a flash as Vilde takes a photo of them like that, Isak wrapped in his arms, asleep and peaceful and safe; and Even looking at him like he was every single star in the sky, the moon and the sun.

“guys i think i’m gonna take him home” Even whispers as he points at the angel with the star on his head and the sparkles of gold tinsel spread across his cheeks.

later that night as they are sleeping, wrapped around each other; lips pressed to their necks, hearts and hands and legs entwined; Isak wakes up again.

and he wakes up to a sleeping Even, beautiful and elegant and strong.

and then he says quietly “I never used to like the holidays. It reminded me how alone i am and how broken my family is.”

he leans forward and kisses every inch of his life’s face before lying back against the pillows and letting sleep take him as he says into the dark-

The Roommate Agreement- Original novel Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off

I completely and utterly hate life.

I’m sorry maybe I should start from the beginning. My name is Benjamin Rigel, I recently graduated from Melbourne Central high school and turn nineteen in a few days. Okay where was I? Oh, right, well I hate my life.

I know, it’s the most generic, basic thing a teenager (a legal adult in the eyes of the law mind you) to say in existence, but it is true. I thought I had it all. I run a hand through my hair in frustration, before pulling on my beloved grey beanie. See, my “girlfriend” is cheating on me. I use the term “girlfriend” very loosely.

I use it loosely because she hasn’t really been my girlfriend for months, not that I actually care anymore. I swear she brings home someone new every night, girl or guy it doesn’t matter. I can hear sounds coming out of the bedroom, our bedroom, where we sleep- as a couple. Bangs on the wall and screams of ecstasy that belong to my girlfriend and her partner, who obviously isn’t me. I scoff at the thought.

‘Of course it isn’t me, I’m just a boy to her, nothing more.’ It’s true of course, I’ve never been anything to her, and all I have and still currently been feeling for the past few months is bitter, sad, disappointment. All I can do is listen on, sad that I’m not the one sharing the bed, that I had genuinely thought that she was into me romantically, someone who cared for me. Not everyone can have what they want. It doesn’t help that I had a reputation in school.

I fiddle with my beanie in guilt of the past, but it helps because it muffles her screaming her partners name out, which as stated before, is not mine. I put my headphones in, hoping to drown out the sounds from down the hall, pressing shuffle.

I walk over to the closet, which has a duffel bag filled with my stuff. Ironically I was going to live with her, believing that everything would okay, that she would love me the way I once loved her.

Collecting my stuff, I decide to head home. To my mums apartment, in some classy neighborhood South-East of the city. Surely she would understand. She would hug me, say that everything would be all right and she would comfort me. But I can imagine the sad look on her face as I tell her that I want to finally leave this thing I call a relationship. She would look at me with a face that says ‘I told you so’, and not in a teasing way.

I gather what I can of my things, knowing I’ll have to make a round trip- and officially break things off. I let out another sigh, rubbing my eyes under my glasses from stress and fatigue, tired and sore eyes from the bright light of the TV playing in the living room.

I pause the music, changing it to the next song in hopes it won’t be related to my current relationship status, and head out the door, pulling up messages and type.

Benny Boi- 01:06: I’ll be back sometime this week, don’t wait for me.

I pull on my MCHS jumper, slinging my duffel bag over my shoulder and walk out of the apartment, down the stairs and into the bustling life of the Melbourne CBD. As I step onto Flinders Lane I can hear her phone ping through the window, signaling that my message got to her, not that she would notice it over getting laid like there’s no tomorrow.

As per usual she doesn’t notice a thing.

I turn and leave, walking up Russell street before turning onto Collins and jumping on the tram, heading to a quaint little bar on Meyers plane, off Little Collins street called ‘The Space Project’. I am a regular every second Wednesday with my friends from school, but I never come on a Sunday night- or Monday morning in my case, but tonight I need a drink and there is nowhere else I would go to get one. Think of it as liquid courage before I go see my mum.

The glass door decorated with lights and a sign flashing brightly as if it was screaming ‘open!’ comes into view, and I walk faster, eager to get this night over with, knowing what my mum will think when I show up at her door at three or four in the morning. I push open the door, which always gets me by surprise with its weight, a faint bell rings as the door closes and I walk over to the bar, pulling out the wooden bar stool with a carving of some constellation- the word ‘cancer’ carved on the leg of the stool. I wave my hand to signal the bartender and I focus of the small lights on the roof, not noticing the bartender arrive in front of me. I hear a cough and I shake my head out of my stupor, focusing on the guy in front of me. Except it isn’t a guy.

A beautiful girl with her blonde hair in a half ponytail updo down to her shoulders, freckles dusting her cheeks like stars and big, brown, doe eyes inspects me, as if she judging my character and deciding whether to serve me alcohol or not at the same time, though she would have a hard time doing so because she was only about twenty centimetres taller than the bar itself, so about 5”4.

“You look like you’ve either had a real shitty night, or you’re plain drunk.” She states.

“Well you’re right about the first point,” I hold my hand out to her. “I’m Benjamin” She eyes me for a moment, her eyes widening slightly at the sight of my school jumper. The girl wearily take my hand and shakes it.

“I know who you are, we graduated in the same year, I’m Persephone. So I’m guessing you finally had enough of Anne-Lucine? She’s a real bitch you know, like the female version of Draco Malfoy-only worse.” I was about to defend Annie, but I have no reason to. I sigh at her, and Persephone looks at me with sympathy, knowing that her guess was correct. I give her a look, deciding whether or not to trust her, but if she can call Annie of all people a bitch, surely I can.

“She’s been cheating on me for months, I did confront her at one point about it but she didn’t stop, and I have decided that I need to let go of her.” Persephone smiles at me.

“Well good for you, at least you realised that it was toxic.” She disappears for a second before returning with two shots of tequila. I eye her and she chuckles lightly.

“On the house, but this is the only drink I’m having, because there is no way in hell a bartender can be drunk on the job.” I laugh before replying.

“Someone has to stay sober here.” Persephone lets out a sweet, genuine laugh. “So how did you end up working as a bartender?” I ask her.

“My aunt actually owns this place, so I’ve always grown up around watching people mix cocktails and drink to their heart's content.” Persephone has a starry look in her eyes, and I can see that she really enjoys her job.

“What about you, do you work?” I grin at the thought.

“I work at a vintage store.” Her eyes light up.

“The one on Little Bourke st?”

“That’s the one.” Persephone looks ecstatic.

“I love that store!” I can’t help smile at her enthusiasm, really happy that someone I now know is interested in what I do. I feel my phone buzz in my pocket, and I pull it out to see.

Annie-Lu - 01:47: Where r u?

I let out a sigh and slip my phone back into my pocket, not wanting to deal with Annie’s bullshit right now. I guess she’s finished with the other guy and wants to see me. Persephone gives me a look and I know I made the right decision to leave. I turn my attention back to the girl in front of me.

“So if we graduated in the same year, how come I never saw you?”

“Do you know Apollina, Eden and Brendon?”

“Sun goddess, garden of god and Brendon Urie? Yeah I know them, but I can’t quite put a face to those names.” I see Persephone smile at the nicknames.

“I was with them on the roof most of the time.” I think of MCHS, the multi level building in the heart of the city, and the garden roof on the top and let out a sound of recognition, nodding in understanding.

“I can see why, I used to go up there to study after school.” We chatter for a bit longer, talking about school as if we had never left, life and other shit, you know, sappy and sentimental crap. I look at the clock to see how much time has past (of course why else would anyone look at a clock, come on).

02:11, crap. I have no idea how I could’ve let time slip away from me so quickly, but I can feel the realisation of what I have just done sink in, and I realise that I have to go, because mum will definitely kill me if I show up later than three. I look back to Persephone, who has left momentarily to serve a customer- some woman with stretchers in her ears big enough to fit a hand through. The woman is given a glass of something and Persephone jumps back over to me.

“Look, I have to go, it’s late, but I will try to arrive here on early Monday mornings.” Persephone looks saddened by my statement, but pulls out a pen from under the counter, grabbing my hand in her firm but gentle grasp, writing something onto my hand (it’s her number, oh my god her number!) before letting go.

“Just in case you ever need someone to talk to who isn’t a bitch, and because I want to be your friend since I never got the chance before.” I smile gratefully as I stand, and she returns it, her brown eyes gleaming with a happiness I cannot describe.

“Thank you, Persephone, it was really nice to finally get all of that off my chest.”

“No problem. Talk to you soon, I hope.” and she leaves to serve another customer, giving me the cue to leave, pushing the heavy door open once more I set out towards Parliament station.

I pull on my beanie over my headphones to keep my ears warm from the cool of the night and the cold chill of the station. I pace down the stairs and tap my myki, walking down the escalators before reaching the furthest platform. I close my eyes, realising how tired I actually am, before feeling the cold wind blow into the platform as the train arrives.

As I travel South-East on the train, I can’t help but think over tonight. My decision to leave Anne-Lucine is a big one, as I’ve been with her since halfway through year ten, to end a three year relationship like that- a toxic one, well, things are going to change. And the look of disappointment on my mums face, that will just be the icing on the cake.

I should explain who exactly my mum is, aside from being my mum of course. My mum, Yadira Rigel, is half Arabic and half Australian, and the nicest woman on this planet, which is a shame because those who are the kindest always have it the worst. My father- a Spanish man who immigrated to Australia, dumped and left her after a few years into their relationship, without ever knowing I existed in her stomach at the time. My mum refuses to let me meet him.

On another note, she is my best friend, my confidant and I tell her absolutely everything, including my school and relationship life, and when I first told her about my relationship with Annie, she shook her head, clearly upset with my choice of person-as if she sensed bad vibes off Anne-Lucine.

‘Now arriving at: Hartwell’

I stand up a bit too quickly, making my head and vision spin out of control, a headache forming from the fatigue of staying up all night. I step off the train and into the dark night-well, morning, walking up the path through the park and into the apartment building.

I press the button to the lift impatiently, tapping my foot in urgence- nervous at my mum’s reaction to my news, and elation at the fact that I am visiting my mum for the first time in a long while. Finally, the lift arrives and I step into it, pressing the button for level five and wait yet again, leaning against the cool mirror of the lift.

A ding signals my arrival and I step out, turning the corner. The golden letters of apartment 506 gleam on the door, the metal tastefully adding a pop of color to the grey-themed building, beckoning me to knock. I can hear the TV playing behind the door, meaning that mum is either awake watching something akin to Star Trek: Discovery or passed out on the couch (It’s probably the latter).

I hesitate to knock the door. What is she going to think? Me showing up at her door at nearly three in the morning, in my highschool jumper and trackies, she’ll have no words. But this is my mama, I’m sure that she’ll understand. At last I gain the courage to knock on my mum’s door, just three knocks.

“Min Allaena!” I hear her shout in Arabic, clearly pissed. Whoops. The door swings open and I face my mum with a warm smile and a guilty look on my face. She just smiles at me.

“Hi mama.”

mid-to-late august; it takes me forever to get myself back up here again.

since my last posts, i’ve listened to: christina aguilera (a little), miss saigon, les miserables, and charlie xcx. more after the break

christina aguilera: I gave her eponymous 1st album a try, Mi Reflejo, and the first CD of Back to Basics. From that first album of hers I really enjoyed the first half since those pretty mch were all the songs I ever knew from her. I mean, come on, I grew up singing to What a Girl Wants and Genie in a Bottle on some weird DVD of her Hawaii performance that we own. The rest of the songs failed to leave any impression with their melodies so that’s kind of sad but I don’t feel bad about it since I did appreciate the strength and range of her voice.

As for Mi Reflejo... Anything in Spanish just ends up as an exercise for me to see how embarrassingly little I can understand after my 8 years of classes. When I put it in I didn’t look at the song list so I half expected it to be entirely full of covers of her English album. It was pleasant that it wasn’t but I didn’t listen that closely until I got to the very last song, the title song. So odd. I didn’t feel very impressed by anything in this album otherwise, and I don’t know if that just means I don’t have any appreciation for this type of music.... Though I certainly didn’t hate it.

I tried to enjoy Back to Basics but I really struggled. I only kind of got into Ain’t No Other Man only because I’d heard it before. I think the lack of soaring melodies got to me.... and Thank You was just so cringe cheesy for me to hear. To be honest I didn’t even make it to disc 2 because I didn’t notice it was there until it came time to return it to the library, so I guess I missed out on the other two big hits from this album. I did appreciate the brass here and there and I felt like I had to try really ahrd to give it some respect since from the Intro track since I know it was a tribute to the songs from another decade. Maybe I’ll give this album another chance someday but it felt more like a chore to go through at this point since Aguilera’s music wasn’t particularly clicking with me. We’ll see since I do want to get to her present day music to hear how her voice has changed.

les miserables: I listened to both the London original cast recording and the Broadway original cast recording. Nice to hear some differences. I really enjoy the love triangle songs (A Heart Full of Love), the declarations of Red and Black, the moving feeling of rebirth/self-declaration of Who Am I?, the ache of A Little Fall of Rain, the sadness of Bring Him Home, and the power of Do You Hear the People Sing. The the creepiness of Castle on a Cloud also sticks in my head. I guess super iconic are “I Dreamed a Dream” and “On My Own” which I did like as well but everything definitely sticks in my head more.... Even having played an arrangement for orchestra more than enough times. Master of the House was funnier finally being able to have words to it, thanks to the character of the wife. In short I really enjoyed the music from this even though I’m still lost on the story... Teehee. Don’t know if I really want to watch the 2012 movie with the same reservations I had about the Beauty and the Beast movie.

miss saigon: I continued checking out Schonberg’s work, just by chance since my sister’s friend claims this as their favorite musical. So far I’ve listened to the 2nd act much more than the 1st. I really love the romantic duets again between Kim and Chris lol (Sun and Moon and Last Night of the World, “played on a solo saxophone” ahhhh). Bui-Doi was surprising and moving to me with its a capella/choral opening. Room 317 and The Confrontation (“Christ, I’m an American! How could I fail to do good?”) just wrench my heart apart with such intensity it is incredible and saddening. The tension!!! The pain!!! The ache!!! Kim trying to give away her son! The disbelief! The high notes just hurt me so much... Now That I’ve Seen Her has such amazing power as well. “I know what pain today her life must be / But if it all comes down to her or me / I don’t care! I will fight!” (Lol I have an difficult time telling apart their voices in the recording). I feel very emotional just having written this but it’s really because the music was so powerful. Going to give the first act another listen before I return this.

charlie xcx: Listened to Sucker first and enjoyed how gritty and cheeky it was with the synthesized songs. Breaking Up is pretty hilarious. I can see how Boom Clap ended up popular but I think the whole album definitely does great in the balance between vocals and background and the beats changed it up a little bit here and there so they were surprisingly not as boring as... American music lol. I only actually recently saw Rita Ora on Boy Band. Listened then to True Romance and wasn’t as entertained by the more spacey sound of it. I kind of just enjoyed how badass she came across in Sucker (and teen-ish “f*ck all of you attitude” I guess) that I was disappointed by the lack of riffs/hooks in True Romance. I guess I should give it one more chance also before I return it since I see that there are a few tracks on this that people are really digging (but maybe I just want less of airy vocals in my life =/)

Thoughts so far: MCH

Battle

I am, for the record, really liking the flow of the adjusted MCH rotation so far; I’m starting to get a handle on the heat gauge. It’s hard to get used to not having Lead Shot (and I put Hot Shot in its old place on my hotbar, and I keep accidentally using it like it’s a DoT, which in turn overheats my Gauss Barrel waaaay too quickly, but that’s muscle memory and I’ll hammer it out soon), but everything else, I’m really liking. I’m particularly pleased with the shorter timer on Wildfire, making it more practical for non-boss fights, which was always my primary complaint about Wildfire in the first place. I am super looking forward to getting cooling abilities, though, because even my Hot Shot abuse aside, it is very easy to overheat the gauge quickly if you’re really powering through the rotation/Reload/Quick Reload cycles, and Quick Reload is sadly not really enough on its own to compensate - at least not how I’ve been playing, which admittedly likely does need some adjustment. That said, the c/d on the Gauss Barrel once it’s overheated is much shorter than I expected it to be! I expected it to be a super long punitive c/d, but instead it is absolutely short enough to be fully recharged between pulls or before the end of larger pulls, making that extra overheated punch something worth pushing for if, for example, you’ve got Wildfire off c/d and you’re pushing 100% heated. The new role abilities are great and I have no real complaints. I’m happier than I have words to express that MCH finally, finally has a self-heal ability in Second Wind. It’s long overdue. I love that I never have to grind for Invigorate ever, ever again, because (no disrespect to LNC/DRGs intended) I hate playing LNC. I like that I can restore TP/MP without sacrificing any DPS on my end - and speaking of support abilities, I really appreciate that Hypercharge’s debuff effect is now the same on both Rook and Bishop. For the moment the fifth role ability I took is the stun, but that could change; it was a toss-up, for me, between that and Palisade. Time will tell whether I decide the protection buff is worth more in a party than an extra stun.

Plot

Oh boy okay here goes my heart; spoilers for the new level 60 quest under the cut. Also please bear in mind that as I’ve only done this first quest, this is a lot of speculation and guesswork and rambly thought nonsense, but I gotta get it down somewhere, ye know?

So at first glance, it seems like my fears were true: Stephanivien is definitely taking a back seat in the MCH quests going forward, with the focus shifting to Hilda - which I didn’t expect at all. As everyone who’s followed this blog for a while knows, I’ve been craving some interaction between Hilda and Steph, and with any luck, I’ll get it from this questline! I also wonder what it means for Hilda in terms of the MSQ; while obviously being a job quest NPC doesn’t mean she can’t be involved in the MSQ from now on (lookin’ at you, Estinien), it does make me a little worried SE doesn’t plan to do much more with her. I do hope she at least remains a MCH NPC for many, many expansions to come... although not at the cost of my Skysteel babies, of course. Speaking of, none of them are around for this quest, and my heart hurts. They’ve all been sent to help with Ishgard’s contributions to the war effort in Ala Mhigo, including Joye (no, I’m still not over Stephanivien referring to her as “my indispensable right-hand woman,” and no, I never ever will be, thanks for asking). Joye is the one who seizes my interest in particular, because she’s our most likely tie to moving the 60-70 MCH quests from Ishgard to Gyr Abania, when otherwise it’s hard to guess at the present stage in the MCH quests just how we’d end up there - given that we’re supposedly training the Ishgardian City Watch. Listen, what I want more than anything is for Joye to turn up wearing the new MCH AF gear, being badass and kicking ass in the name of House Haillenarte and Ishgard in Ala Mhigo and/or Doma. I want that so badly, you guys have no idea; I will literally actually scream. I also just really want my platonic soulmate babies to reunite because you can’t tell me Steph doesn’t miss his girl, even as he’s absurdly proud of all of his machinists proving their worth alongside Ishgardian knights. Also I feel the need to scream a little bit about Stephanivien being an absolutely beautiful nerd over the gobbie tech in Idyllshire, because oh my god you wonderful ray of sunshine please god never change - if I’m at all okay with Steph taking a back seat in the MCH quests, it’s because it means he’s safe and free to just keep being his happy, hard-working self, without any wild crises coming along to put him through hell again. I’m not sure I could endure another arc where he doubts his own motives and wonders if he’s a terrible person; it might very well break me. Biggest surprise, to me: Rostnsthal! I swear I was just telling my roommate the other day how I didn’t expect we’d ever see any more of him, barring a cameo in a future expac or something - and here he is, back again to teach a new batch of machinists! Bonus points for letting my usually well-behaved WoL be playfully crude; character development. I also just love how Stephanivien goddamn sprints away at the end of the cutscene with Rostnsthal, because as much as he loves the tech in Idyllshire, he’s got so much work to do and he’s so here for it he is one happy little sunbeam. So basically, it’s not what I’d hoped the MCH quest would be, but it’s also not what I was afraid of: Steph is still around and will very likely still turn up periodically; I have high hopes of seeing Joye, Celestaux, and the others at some point in the future; they didn’t shove me with some new NPC who could never hold up to the old cast, and Hilda has more than enough personality and style to keep me invested. Also not gonna lie, I hope this stirs up some more Hilda RPers, because feed me. Iiiiiii think that’s everything. Yes. Looking forward to level 63!

Whats the cheapest I can do for Auto Insurance? I lapsed a few times with my first Insurance, and had to switch cuz it was too much to renew. Then I qot a speedin ticket, 18 over limit (the speedin was unintintional), but its all paid for, and Im usinq Cuise Control reliqiously from now on. And I very cautious as far as wrecks qo.. Anyone have any suqqestions where my best bets would be? I need somewhere under or at $200 at most, per month. And yes Im aware of other details about the car itself is required, but as far as what I just presented, whats my best chances?
