first dates! :)
w/ bakugo, kiri, deku, shoto
bakugo 💥
let’s be honest...going on a date was not bakugo’s idea.
in fact, he despised the idea of having to put off hero work for a night to pay for some extra’s meal and force himself to have a conversation he didn’t want to.
but the people he called his friends, mina, kirishima, denki and sero urged him to do this. (mostly mina)
they all complained about how he was so pent up and angry more than usual, and that one normal night where he went on a date to get to know someone might let him blow off some steam.
there’s were three outcomes to this planned date:
1. bakugo would be annoyed the whole time, counting the minutes down before literally bursting himself away from the date
2. he’d get himself laid, which was another way to blow off steam, to be fair.
or 3. he’d meet the love of his life.
and that’s where you come in.
you were one of mina’s closest friends, who had met everyone in the squad except for bakugo. he claimed he didn’t have enough time to meet irrelevant people. and the four idiots he semi-tolerated was enough for him.
but mina was persistent. she bribed bakugo with all types of things (most of them having to do with all might) to get him to go on just one date with her friend
and surprisingly, he agreed.
and now, you’re at one of the classiest restaurants in town, sitting across from pro-hero bakugo and eating all that your stomach could hold.
the beginning was a bit awkward. small talk here and there where bakugo would just reply with one word answers or even a low grunt.
but as soon as you asked him about his career, and why he chose to become a hero, it seemed like he could suddenly talk for hours.
he explained a little about himself, talking about his “hag of a mom” and his “arch nemesis deku” with a scowl.
and you explained what you did, your career and some parts of your life. bakugo listened. he was surprising himself. he never imagined being so interested in some extra’s life.
but your eyes were captivating and your words were ear pulling. and he honestly couldn’t help but think....maybe this was a good idea
bye the end of the date, you two were gently smiling at each other. his a lot straighter than yours, but it was something.
he walked you to your car, and you started to say goodbye
“this was really fun bakugo, i’ll be sure to look out for your pro-hero duties on the big screen.” you went to step in your car when he put a hand on your shoulder.
“put your number in.” he grunted. “what’s the point of watching behind a screen when you could get the story from the man himself.” he handed you his phone, and watched as you put your digits in.
when you finally said your last goodbyes and you were back home, your phone dinged, and a notification form an unknown number popped up.
i had fun too i guess. call me...whenever.
-b.k.
deku 🥦
izuku was conflicted.
he loved his life, don’t get him wrong.
living as the number one hero was literally his dream come true.
but he always felt something missing. he just didn’t know what.
it wasn’t until he was hanging out with his friends on one of his rare days off. smiling and laughing at the carefree atmosphere.
he soon realized something. he was different from the rest. it was so obvious, how hadn’t he noticed till now?
he watched as todoroki and momo smiled at each other, sharing their food.
as ochaco and iida held hands under the table.
as tsuya left early, saying she had to meet her s/o.
izuku finally realized...he was lonely
not in the the literal sense, no, he had tons of friends and peers who he loved very much.
but he didn’t have a companion. someone he would come home to at the end of the day. who’d stick by his side through thick and thin.
so he did what every standard, normal human being did when wanting to find a s/o.
he turned to online dating.
hey don’t make fun of him! you were on there too ;)
izuku spent months swiping, trying to find the perfect person to “shoot his shot” with. and eventually, he landed on your profile. your picture was gorgeous and he found himself asking “are they a model?”
feeling a burst of confidence, he goes to your messages, and types a greeting.
you, on the other hand, was confused to say the least. there was no way #1 pro hero deku had just messaged you. you thought it was a scam or catfish. so you ignored it.
but after a few more minutes, another message caught your attention from the same profile.
hey! i know what you’re thinking but...it’s really me! deku! here’s my number so we can video call. please consider. ###-###-####- i.m.
so, you decided to give it a try. if it really was deku, there was no way you’d pass on this once in the lifetime opportunity
as soon as you had free time, you called. and to your surprise, it was really him!
you two talked for a while, getting to know each other. and you shared how you both thought it was time to reach out and try to get to to know other people.
it was really nice talking to him, but as some point, duty called, so he asked you to meet him at a small cafe in town.
when the day came, it entered the nice cafe, and giddily looked around for the green haired boy. when your eyes met him, his widened and he waved at you.
as you walked closer, you couldn’t help but notice the severe blush spreading across his cheeks.
you said hello, and he replied with a stammered greeting. he was almost a totally different person than the one who had messaged and called you, but...you found it cute.
after a while, he began to calm down, and casual conversation began to flutter between you two.
you spent hours talking and laughing with him like you were old friends.
he paid for your food, like the gentleman he is, and complimented you more than you could count. you found yourself hoping this wouldn’t be the only date.
and he was thinking the same thing.
after a few hours of getting to know each other, duty called, and izuku had to leave to go save a bank from being robbed by a low grade villain. much to his demise.
before you parted ways, he spoke with hopeful eyes. “we should do this again some time. o-only if you want to, of course!” he suggested.
you smiled widely. “i would love to!” was your response.
...you two went on a lot more dates in the future.
kirishima 🪨
it was a normal day for the red haired boy.
he was having his usual friday workout at his local gym.
buffing up, ya know?
he decided to work on his legs, walking over to the leg press.
he stopped in confusion when he saw someone he didn’t know at his usual spot.
he was even more confused when he noticed the same person was about half his size, lifting the same amount he did!
he looked left and right, wondering if anyone else was watching you.
he stared a little longer than he’d like to admit, watching your figure and focused eyes, and after a while, you finished your set, sitting up to get a drink.
kirishima cleared his throat, walking towards you and flexing his muscles, groaning at the stretch when he moved his arms around.
he approached you just as you were about to do another set, but you stopped when you saw him walk up to you.
“hey uhhh...need some help there?” he asked in feigned confidence, hoping to start some conversation.
you scoffed “you think cause i’m a girl i can’t lift a few hundred pounds?”
“nonono exactly the opposite! i was just watching you. you did a good job!” kirishima stopped himself when he saw your eyes widen. he probably sounded so creepy!
“look, i saw you absolutely crushing those leg lifts and i just could not...not...introduce myself to someone so MANLY!” he grinned widely. “i’m kirishima! you are?”
you gave him an amused smile and introduced yourself. “y/n.”
you two talked for a bit until it became too late.
so kirishima suggested that you two hang out. it was only gonna be a date if it was fine with you.
you agreed, of course. he was cute, charming, and entertaining. a date wouldn’t hurt.
so he gave you his number and told he’d text you about the plan.
a week later, you got the day and time of the date, but he wouldn’t tell you where it was, claiming it was a surprise.
don’t worry, you made sure to give one of your friends your location in case any shady stuff went down.
kirishima happened to take you on a date to an amusement park!
there was a ton of attractions and rides, as well as other activities like rock climbing and laser tag.
you had so much fun. kirishima was making sure of it. he let you win in laser tag, let you sit where ever you wanted on the rollar coasters, and basically carried you up the rock climbing wall.
and in the end, he won you a giant teddy bear from the claw machine.
it was honestly a perfect date.
by the time night fell, you and him were chilling in his car, eating funnel cake and snow cones.
“so, did you have fun?” he asked with curious eyes.
“so much fun kiri!” you happily bit your funnel cake and he smiled even wider at the nickname, happy you had gotten comfortable with him already.
“that means we can do this again right! go on another date?”
you agreed without hesitation :)))
shoto ❄️🔥
todoroki had no interest in dating.
it’s wasn’t that he didn’t like the idea, or that he had trouble finding someone (god no), he just didn’t think it was important at the time.
but when the vain of his existence, the person who seemed to cause all his problems stepped into his calm and collected lifestyle, he had no choice.
his father, endeavor, was trying to set up shoto in the arranged marriage.
he had been trying for a while, but shoto continued to refuse.
however, endeavor was his father, and he continued to berate shoto about how the family name would go to waste if shoto didn’t marry someone with a good quirk.
shoto made a deal
if he found a s/o before the day of the wedding, endeavor would have to leave him alone and let him make his own decisions. finally
endeavor agreed.
the only problem was...shoto didn’t really talk to people. he didn’t reach out and go on dates. he just had no reason to. so finding someone that he was comfortable being with would be difficult
he thought about the people he knew, and how most of his friends were from his high school years.
scrolling through his contact list for what seemed life forever, he suddenly approached your name.
he remembered you fondly. how you were one of his closest friends and one of the people he actually cared about during his time at UA
and, he honestly found you quite attractive
you’d definitely be able to help him with his little dilemma.
when you received a random text from shoto, you were kind of surprised. after high school, you never really talked unless it was holidays or birthday greetings.
but when he told you about his situation, and how he needed a fake s/o to get his father off his back, you agreed.
you were always the type to help a friend in need. especially one like shoto who helped you through high school.
shoto had planned on you meeting his father and having a quick dinner to introduce his new “girlfriend”
luckily endeavor never payed attention to shoto’s friend’s, or he would have recognized you from UA.
during the dinner, a tense blanket covered the three of you.
endeavor would ask very specific questions.
what’s your quirk?
how powerful it is?
what benefits would you bring to the todoroki family?
you answered as best as you could to make yourself fit to his standards, but it was hard when endeavor was so intimidating and judgmental.
at the end of the hour long meeting, he claimed you weren’t right for shoto, and you didn’t meet his standard.
it honestly wounded your pride a bit. you slumped in your chair and shoto looked at you in concern.
you excused yourself after a while, noting to say sorry to shoto for not being able to help him.
but you couldn’t get far when you hear shoto cursing out his father, saying he was a “scum” and he “wouldn’t take anymore bullshit”
shoto ran after you, apologizing for his father’s behavior and insisted on taking you out to make up for the trouble.
that night, he took your favorite restaurant and let you order whatever you wanted.
the rest is history.
well guys this was my first official post. hopefully it’s up to ur standard. ;3

So, it’s been actual years since I’ve actually posted something on this account let alone actually posting my writing on this account, but this case was too good to pass up. I forgot how posting works, and I’m on mobile, so, sorry if it comes out looking weird. @gentrychild
————————————————————
“Midoriya,” Aizawa’s turned the toy box in his hands, inspecting the brightly pink colored box for a price label or tag. “How exactly did you purchase all of this?” He held up the box for the teen to see. The greenette in question looked up from the worksheet of basic addition questions that Aizawa had printed out for Eri to work on, the girl being comfortably situated into his side, staring intently at the worksheet lying innocently on the coffee table. “With money?” The teen raised an eyebrow at the question. Aizawa facepalmed at the mildly sarcastic answer, until a thought occurred to him. “Midoriya, not to be blunt, but, are you rich?” The teen hesitated, considering his answer, and nodded a moment later. Aizawa and his student stayed in a staring contest in silence like that before nodding at each other. At that moment, Izuku felt a tug on the sleeve of his shirt. He turned his attention back towards Eri as Aizawa carefully lowered the Ganriki figurine box down and placed it next to the floor, alongside the ten or so other boxes of expensive, name-brand toys. After that, he retrieved his sleeping bag and crawled into it, hoping to get another hour-long nap or so in before he had to patrol for the night. “Okay, so, remember the trick I taught you, the one about using your fingers?” Eri nodded silently, holding her small hands up in front of her scrunched up face as she tried to remember how he showed her. “Do you want me to go over it with you again?” “Yes please!” Aizawa observed the pair for a moment more, watching and listening as Eri cheered as she solved the problem, Izuku giving her positive reinforcement. “Can we play with the toys now?” Izuku smiled at her and raised his hand slowly, making sure to let her see his hand and silently asking for permission, to which Eri nodded. He raised his hand and pat her head. “Why don’t we get through this last problem so we don’t have to worry about homework later, does that sound alright with you?” Eri nodded and smiled at him. “Okay!” Aizawa wound up dozing off once Izuku and Eri busted open two of the toy boxes.
Ochaco winced as her stomach growled, the chatter between Shouto and Tenya cutting short as they heard the noise despite the loudness of the cafeteria. “Uraraka-kun, are you alright?” The girl nodded, putting on a bright smile to hopefully keep them from questioning her too much about her eating habits. “I’m as good as I can get! I feel great!” Tenya continued to stare at her, a look of worry coming across his face. Shouto though, was staring off at something in the distance. What was he looking at? She was startled out of her musing by the sound of the chair next to her groaning as it scraped against the floor. She looked over and smiled as Izuku plopped himself into the seat next to her, carrying not one, but two bento boxes. He placed the second one in the center of the table. “Sorry I’m late, I forgot that my mom sent extras for me to bring and had to get it from my locker. Feel free to take some!” He smiled kindly at the table. Tenya nodding and gently pushing the box in Ochaco’s direction. Tenya and her locked in a silent debate as Shouto and Izuku made small talk about the day’s upcoming hero training. Ochaco sighed as she lost the battle and gratefully took the bento box. She glanced at Izuku as he held out an extra pair of chopsticks for her; she sighed and took them. “Thank you,” she mumbled, to which she received a silent, but blindingly bright smile. As the group returned to their usual chatter, Ochaco couldn’t help but ask, “Deku-kun, how does your mom almost always have leftovers? It’s expensive to buy ingredients for homemade food, isn’t it?” Izuku swallowed his food, and shrugged. “Mom has always loved cooking, so, that’s what she does. Plus, she’s never exactly been too keen on eating fast food a lot.” Ochaco accepted the answer, for now, with a nod. However, Ochaco knew an aversion to a question when she spotted one.
Midoriya Inko smiled warmly and greeted her son’s friends with a small wave as she closed the main entrance door to class 1-A’s form building. Ochaco and Tenya greeted her back enthusiastically, while Shouto gave the kind woman a small smile and a polite wave in return. Shouta greeted the woman with a nod, which was politely returned with a nod of her own, and quickly got to quieting the class down. “So,” Inko began. “From what I understood to be the gist of this situation, you all wanted my help in throwing a surprise birthday party for Izuku, correct?” “Yes,” Tenya affirmed with a nod. “Is Izuku in the building?” Ochaco shook her head. “Nope, we convinced All Might to take him out for the day and distract him, but he said that he would help us with this.” Inko chuckled softly and smiled. “Alright, that sounds perfect! We shouldn’t waste anymore time, let’s start planning!” The class cheered to various degrees before they divided into groups that would handle different tasks. Momo, Shouto, Ochaco, and Mezo gathered around Inko to talk about decorations for the day of the event. “Now that we have the decorations all chosen, I’ll start creating them,” said Momo. Inko stared at the girl in confusion for a moment before speaking. “Oh, no, you don’t need to do that! I can just purchase these and have them delivered.” The group stared at the woman in silence. “But, considering the how many of these decorations we’ll need each will add up to be quite expensive, right?” Mezo asked. Inko smiled warmly at the group. “It’s fine, really! They will be expensive, but still affordable.” “...But, Midoriya-san,” Ochaco spoke. “The total cost of the decorations will be roughly ¥18, 987.” Inko blinked confusedly at the astounded looks across the children’s faces. “As I said, perfectly affordable.” ‘Ah,’ the group collectively thought as they came to a realization about their friend that they hadn’t picked up on before.
Tenya fanned Ochaco’s face who managed to keep her composure until Midoriya Inko left, and then promptly collapsed at the realization that another one of her best friends was rich, the one she least expected. Tenya then promptly moved them to be seated on one of the couches, Momo creating a small motorized fan for Tenya to use. “So,” Tenya spoke softly to Shouto, who sat across from him. “Midoriya-kun is actually rich.” Shouto merely nodded at his friend. “It makes sense,” Shouto realized. “He had to get money for his entire room somewhere.” Tenya nodded in agreement. “I am ashamed of myself for not realizing this sooner,” he said a minute later. Shouto reached over and pat his shoulder. “He was very subtle about it, I think this just about blindsided everyone, except maybe Aizawa-sensei.” “I know I was,” Ochaco suddenly spoke up. The two glanced down at her. “How long have you been awake, Uraraka-kun?” “Since you two started talking.” She made no move to get up. At that moment, the entrance doors clicked open softly, and in walked Izuku. He quickly caught sight of his friends on the couch. “Ah! What happened to Uraraka-san?!” The three of them just stared at him blankly. The boy began sweating as he glanced back at them. “What?”
“Wait, so, where is all of this money coming from anyway?” Ochaco inquired later. “My father, I think,” he said as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. ‘You think?’ His friends collectively questioned with blank faces.
From inside of a cell, locked away deep in Tautarus, a certain infamous two century old fiend sneezed, spittle splatting across the surface inside of his respirator much to his dismay. The man verbally groaned in despair before a medic came in, cleaning the respirator.

So Much Worse Than A Phantom Limb, Chapter 1 (BakuDeku)
Katsuki gritted his teeth against the noise bouncing around the classroom walls. The class was chattering animatedly as they waited for Aizawa, who was already ten minutes late. He was trying to go over his English homework, but he couldn't fucking concentrate—partly because of all the goddamn noise and partly because Deku was late too, and hadn't texted him to inform their homeroom teacher like he usually did.
He was trying to ignore the second point. After all, maybe he'd texted his nerd squad instead.
Aizawa dragged himself into the classroom at the twenty-minute mark. Iida even started to scold him until he recognized the haggard set of the teacher's face. He looked even worse than usual.
"Midoriya was involved in a villain attack. He is currently in the hospital. No one is permitted to see him—" he paused, eyes sliding to Katsuki who tensed immediately. "Except you. His mother requested your presence specifically."
Katsuki, who had gone deathly still, nodded once.
"Excuse me, but why him?" Uraraka asked, voice saccharine but shaded with barely discernable malice. "They can't even be in the same room together without fighting."
"It's what Mrs. Midoriya requested, and therefore the final answer. If I hear that any of you try to see Midoriya against his family's wishes, you will be immediately expelled." He stated, dark glare cutting across the room to the most likely perpetrators.
"Sensei," Bakugou called his attention back. "Do you mind if I call my mother to make sure she knows? Auntie shouldn't be alone in the hospital until I'm done with classes." Katsuki spoke, face carefully blank—almost bored to a careless observer. Aizawa was not a careless observer. He took in the rigid set of his shoulders and tight press of his lips and clenched fists and paling features and read the fear and concern in his student like an open book. After months of observing his two most problematic problem children, it wasn't a surprise to him. The rest of the class seemed shocked that he even had a considerate bone in his body.
"Of course. Take your time." Aizawa gestured to the door, and Katsuki hurried out, ignoring the shock on his friend's faces or Uraraka's steely glare.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Auntie Inko had enveloped him in a hug as soon as he'd walked into Deku's hospital room. She was shaking—a violent full-body tremble that belied her fear. He could hear his mom speaking, but wasn't really processing her words because over Auntie's shoulder he was staring at Deku's prone form.
He was hooked up to a ventilator. There were dark purple bruises under his eyes. Katsuki had seen him less than twenty-four hours ago, and he already looked emaciated and pale.
Something was seriously wrong.
Aizawa was with them, discussing the minutiae of Deku's clearly serious quirk incident. He wasn't listening, because Deku was so still and quiet that if it weren't for the monitor, Katsuki would think he was dead.
Dead.
An intrusive picture flitted across the back of his mind—an image of what life would be like without Deku. He shoved it aside.
He couldn't think about it. Not in front of Auntie Inko.
But then he finally heard what the adults were saying. Took in every detail about what was wrong with Deku. And he thought about it anyway.
There was a buzzing under his skin and a tightness in his chest. Lesser mortals would call it panic—or maybe terror. But he was the strong one. He didn't even panic when he'd been kidnapped. If he panicked now, everyone else would break.
He didn't have that luxury, but he supposed that was the price of being the strongest. Only one person could handle the full weight of his fears.
He could panic when Deku woke up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deku was in a coma.
A fucking coma.
On Friday, the nerd left to see his mom for the weekend. On Monday, he was in a goddamn coma.
With a concussion.
And two skull fractures.
And a shattered tibia.
AND under the effects of an unknown but obviously deadly poisoning quirk.
Thankfully, Aizawa had been there and had gotten that information first hand, so he wasn't responsible for relaying it. Unfortunately, the eighteen other idiots he lived with didn't see it that way.
"Any news?" Eijiro asked him before he'd even taken his shoes off.
"His medical care is confidential. Fuck off, Shitty Hair." He grumbled, beelining for the kitchen where every-fucking-one else was waiting. He bit back a growl of sheer frustration and exhaustion and powered through. He needed to eat like...six hours ago.
"Bakugou! How's Deku doing?" Uraraka called as soon as he was in sight. "Fuck off Round Face." He grunted, grabbing his leftovers from the fridge and slamming the door behind him.
"C'mon! If you're the only one who's allowed to see him, you gotta tell us how he's doing!" She insisted, crowding him.
He's fucking dying. He thought vitriolically. And there's nothing I can do. "I don't have to tell you shit. Get the fuck away from me." He snapped, moving to stalk past her.
She grabbed his arm. "Hey! Don't walk away—"
He detonated the hand she wasn't clinging to right next to her face. "Get the fuck off me." She dropped his arm immediately. "Let me leave this fucking kitchen or I'll blow up the fucking building." He snarled.
He stormed into his room, shoulder checking anyone who tried to stand in his way or ask him fucking questions. He knew they were curious and worried, but fuck why were they putting the responsibility on him to be the bearer of disastrously shitty news? Did he seem like the type of person who handled emotional bullshit well?
He slammed the door to his room behind him as loudly as possible without actually breaking the door, ate his cold-ass leftovers, and dropped himself onto the bed.
And finally—finally—he cried.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eijiro was waiting for him when he opened his door the next morning. He almost slammed it shut again at the look on his face.
"What."
"Walk to class together? I can help fend people off." He offered. Katsuki studied him skeptically. "I heard you last night, man. We share a wall." Fantastic. Shitty Hair had heard him crying like a bitch. Spec-fucking-tacular. "And you're right, his business is confidential and it's not your responsibility to keep us updated."
"Like that'll stop the nerd squad from prying anyways," Katsuki grumbled, pulling his door shut behind him in acceptance of Eijiro's offer to be his human shield. They walked in silence most of the way, but fuck Eijiro was a good friend, so he knew what was coming next.
The redhead stopped him just outside the main entrance. "I'm only gonna ask this once because I know you'll blow me up if I go overboard," Eijiro stated. Katsuki tried hard not to crack a smile. "Are you okay?"
Katsuki stared at him for a long moment, considering his options. He could lie. He could tell him to fuck off. But Eijiro was a good friend. "No."
Eijiro looked surprised at the admission but schooled it down quickly. "Anything I can do?" Katsuki shook his head. "Well let me know if that changes, okay? I'm here for you Bakubro."

“Keep pushing yourself! You’ll never know your full potential if you just give up!” Aizawa’s voice boomed throughout the field, his black eyes scanning the area for any type of fooling around. “Come on, you’re almost done! Finish!”
The students of Class 1-A were on the brink of defeat, each of their bodies begging for a break. Today was no different from other days. Aizawa explained that the class would be sparring for an hour. Of course, this being a usual thing, the students just nodded and took what came to them. Except for this time, they were to run three miles without using their quirks. “You guys need to build up your stamina, and now is the perfect time to do so,” were the words from their teacher. Each student cried in horror, but to no avail, he didn’t care. He wanted them to be the best and reach their full potential. If this is what it takes, so be it. Who would've thought it would be this hard.
Midoriya coughed into his sleeve, gasping for air as bullets of sweat dribbled down his face. His body was on fire, yet he continued to push forward. His legs were screaming at him to stop, to collapse where he was at, and pass out at any moment. He desperately wanted to but knew what the consequences would be if he listened.
He followed the curve of the dirt path, breathing heavily. He grunted and put his head down, moving his arms in sync with his legs' pace to help him out. “One...one more!” he whispered yelled to himself, wiping the beads of sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand.
He could hear the whines from his classmates behind him, each of them begging their teacher to stop this madness he called training.
“T-this is too much!” Mina panted, her pace slowing down with each second that passed, her legs ready to fall underneath her. Beside her was Kaminari, who simply nodded in agreement. Both of them were lagging behind more than the others.
“W-we’re almost done, r-right, Tsu?!” Uraraka yelled out for the green-haired girl who was in front of her.
“Ribbit.” Tsu replied weakly, her body hunched over, her pace almost walk like, her hands by her side.
“Out of my way!” Bakugou yelled and sprinted past everyone, catching up to Midoriya. His hands were clenched to contain the sweat from coming out and causing an explosion, something he didn’t want to happen at all. “Deku!!”
Midoriya’s eyes widened as he picked up the pace, ignoring the burning hole of Bakugou’s intense stare. He lifted his head and spotted Aizawa, who wasn’t that far away. ‘There!’ he thought. The sound of heavy footsteps got louder and louder to the point where they were heard right beside Midoriya’s body.
“I won’t let you win!!”
“N-not a race!” Midoriya choked out, refusing to give into the pain. The end line got closer and closer with each step he took.
From his left came another pair of footsteps. He whipped his head and caught sight of red and white hair. Todoroki was beside him, passing him up by a step or two. ‘H-he’s not even tired!’ Midoriya thought in shock, slowing himself down to a jog. Todoroki let out small pants, his form perfect.
Midoriya passed the end line right after Bakugou, who came behind Todoroki.
“You damn Icy-Hot!” Bakugou yelled, opening his palms, a variety of yellows and oranges emitting from his hands in an explosion.
“Bakugou,” Aizawa sternly said, his eyes glowing red, a display of his first warning. Bakugou grumbled in annoyance, lowering his hands to his sides in defeat. Their teacher blinked as his hair fell back to the normal length, looking off to the side at the crowd of incoming students. “About time you all finished. I could have taken a nap, but I had to wait for each and every one of you instead.”
“W-we’re sorry, Mr. Aizawa!” the crowd yelled in agony, all leaning over to place their hands on their knees, gasping for as much air as their lungs could take.
He watched them before turning around to face the other three. “Good job. Could have been done faster but this is acceptable for not using your quirks. Everyone!” he yelled, taking a step back as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his pants. “We’re done for today. Head back to the dorms and clean yourselves up. Tomorrow is your rest day, use it well. Don’t let me catch you guys doing something you aren’t supposed to.”
Aizawa let out a low groan at his unresponsive students. “Take your time,” was all he said before making his leave off the field.
“I can’t even move my legs anymore!” Momo gasped, tilting her head back as her shoulders heaved up and down.
“Alright, everyone up! The longer we wait around the more tired we will be! If you have to walk slower than normal then proceed to do so!” Iida took his glasses off, wiping the sweat from the lenses with the sleeve of his shirt.
Groans emitted from different students, some begging to just be left on the floor, others begging to be carried by someone else.
Midoriya helped his friends off the floor with his weakened arms.
“Thanks Deku,” Uraraka whispered tiredly and rubbed the back of her neck. “How were you able to finish so well? You didn’t even look tired from where I was!”
Midoriya grew quiet, his eyes focused on the scars that remained on his hands. A subtle reminder that showed his progress from the beginning till now. Each day he surprises himself with the amount of goals he could complete that he didn’t know he could. “I don’t know,” he whispered, bringing his fingers to the center of his palm. “All I know is that I will continue to give my all!”
Uraraka stared up at him in awe, bringing a hand to her chest. “Well if you’re going to give it your all, I will too!”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
Everyone rushed to their showers, some even fighting for a good spot.
Midoriya found himself eating his dinner faster than normal. After cleaning his dish, he immediately made his way up the stairs after saying goodnight to his classmates, desperate to hit his head on the pillow and let sleep take over him.
Every night before he went to bed, he always called his mom. A reassurance thing she asked for before she let him move into the dorms. It made her feel that he was safe at all times, even though it wasn’t the case sometimes.
He tiredly turned his phone off and charged it on the bedside table, letting it fall out of his hand.
“So...so tired,” he whispered, and yawned into the air around him, stretching his body. He winced, already feeling the soreness appearing in his muscles. He stared up at the ceiling, bringing the bed sheets up to his underarms, hands resting on top of the cover.
The longer he stared, the heavier his eyelids felt. His eyes fluttered shut as his body relaxed, all the tension dissolving away. His chest soon heaved up and down in a slow rhythm, small puffs of air entering and leaving his mouth. Soon enough he was in a deep sleep, one that no one could awaken him from.
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
The ground felt fluffy yet rough at the same time. Was that mud? Was the ground moving? Why was it shaking? It felt like an earthquake kept happening every 10 seconds. A powerful step caused the earth beneath to tremble in fear. Was he dreaming? Was this some simulator the teachers put up for the students again?
Another powerful wave shook the earth yet again. Midoriya’s eyes flew open, as he gasped in fear. He immediately looked up and came face to face with a mixture of blues and greens, clouds swirling around freely.
“What is this,” he whispered to himself, slowly sitting up. His arms felt heavier as he looked down, noticing he was wearing his hero costume. He rubbed the gear for his arms with a finger in suspicion. “Why am I wearing this?”
“Thank god you’re awake, Deku!”
Uraraka?
“Huh?! W-what are you doing here, Uraraka?!” He looked around and noticed that his friends were surrounding him, all wearing their hero costumes. “W-why are you guys wearing your costumes?!”
“Beats me. I’m more concerned about where we are exactly,” Todoroki mumbled, eyeing the area around him.
A field of nothing but grass. Houses were in the distance. Were they abandoned? Did people live all the way out here from Musutafu?
Now that Midoriya thought about it, shouldn’t they be able to figure out where they are by comparing their surroundings to pictures on the internet? He rubbed the side of his head. “Does anyone have their phone on them?”
“I don’t have mine.”
“Mine is in my fucking room.”
“I don’t have service.”
Answers of defeat filled the group of friends, Midoriya sighed and stood up, wiping the mud off his suit. “Well, we can’t just sit here and wait. We have to go looking around for someone to help us.”
“Are you fucking crazy? Do you see people around here?! Cause I for sure don’t!” Bakugou yelled, hitting his gauntlets together. “I don’t see shit!”
“Bakugou, don’t use that type of language! We may not know where we are at but we still represent UA!”
Bakugou yelled and lifted his hands above his head, creating a large beam of explosions.
Everything seems still. Not a noise in sight besides the heavy breathing coming from Bakugou. Tsuyu lowered herself to the ground, feeling the dirt patches with her fingers. “It’s shaking.”
This caught the attention of everyone.
“What do you mean by shaking?” Todoroki questioned, squatting beside her to see what she was talking about.
Todoroki got quiet and looked around for the source. “She’s right. It’s shaking.”
Midoriya felt his head cloud up with thoughts. “That’s impossible. It can’t be shaking if we’re the only ones here. Right? I don’t see anyone besides us. It doesn’t make sense,” he mumbled, rubbing his chin in thought as he stared up at the sky. “Unless we can’t see our opponent.”
“You mean someone like Hagakure, Midoriya?” Iida asked, holding his helmet by his side.
“That’s exactly what I mean. But then someone our size couldn’t cause this much trouble.”
“Could it be someone like Mt. Lady maybe?” Uraraka looked over at Midoriya, noticing how tense his body was.
He nodded and sighed. “Maybe we sh-”
The stomping noise in the background grew louder and louder. They felt as if the ground would break and swallow them whole. Incoherent groans became louder. The presence of something bigger than they have ever seen was approaching from behind.
Midoriya looked over his shoulders and felt his soul leave his body, his eyes bulging out of their sockets.
A naked creature that resembled a human-like body ran toward them. It was even larger than Mt. Lady. Blood dripped from its mouth and landed on the roundness of its stomach. Patches of purple and red covered the body. It had a sick grin that made them all shiver where they stood.
“What the hell is that thing?!” Bakugou yelled in shock, his own eyes wide as he stilled in fear.
The thing froze in place, each student on alert for its next move.
“I’ve never seen a simulation like this,” Tsu whispered, staying in a crouched position alongside Todoroki.
“No one move. Maybe it won’t be able to see us,” Iida suggested, his eyes narrowing.
The creature leaned back, then forward again, taking off towards them in a sprint. Its attention was focused on the warmth of the students’ bodies, thirsty to feed itself.
They all screamed in terror, each getting ready to use their quirk if needed.
“I’ll blow its damn head off!!” Bakugou shouted, opening his palms.
“A 15 meter, Captain!!”
“Move!”
In the blink of an eye, a hook like material shot out from the trees, catching the eye of the creature. A body flew from the shadows and swung itself around the humanoid creature before speeding up towards the nape of its neck, slashing a clean cut, making the creature freeze up and fall to its knees.
The new arrival let out an annoyed sigh, watching the blood of the creature evaporate into thin air. “I hate these things.”
“Another nice kill, Captain Levi! Although I’m coming close to being like you.”
“Cut the crap Oluo. No one cares that you’re trying to imitate the Captain.”
“Oh Petra, don’t you worry about that.”
“I hope you choke on your tongue!”
Midoriya gaped at the small man, who was staring at his blades. “H-he just took it down with one swift move!”
“Hm?” Levi looked up and narrowed his eyes, readying his blades. “Who the hell are you brats? How did you make it outside the wall without permission?”
“The wall?” Uraraka asked. “What wall are you talking about?”
“Sir, they aren’t even in uniform. I’ve never even seen anyone make whatever they are wearing.” Eld spoke from beside him, eyeing each student from head to toe.
Midoriya studied their uniform. A green cape was tied around their neck and flowed behind them with the wind. A brown fitted jacket was underneath that was long at the arms but cut short at the torso. The shirt under the jacket had brown straps going across the chest that wrapped around to what Midoriya assumed was their back, leading to the brown belt that resided on their hips. It looked like a brown spandex at the top of their thighs, more straps peeked out from underneath, wrapping around their thighs till it went lower until it was hidden by the brown boots.
‘A different type of costume? Well they all have the same thing on,’ he thought and coughed awkwardly. “Um, we don’t even know where we are. We just ended up here.”
“Ended up here, huh?” the man asked and sheathed his blades back into the grey boxes that rested beside his thighs.
“That’s a cool costume you got there!” Uraraka stared in awe as she stared at the group of people behind the short black haired man.
“Costume? Look kid, I don’t know what you’re trying to pull, but it’s not cute!” The curly brown haired man said, unsheathing his blades, his fingers holding a vice like grip on the handle, a menacing look in his eyes. “Just give the go ahead Captain!”
After his movements, the rest of the group followed suit, ready to attack at any moment.
“We don’t mean any harm! We don’t know where we are at sir!” Iida said, shoving a hand in front of his body, Uraraka and Tsu holding onto each other in terror while Todoroki and Bakugou watched in silence, hands by their sides.
“Blades down,” the short man instructed.
“But s-sir we don’t know if they have abilities li-”
“I said blades down!” he shouted, turning around to face them. “That was an order.”
They all eyed each other, silently communicating before putting the blades away.
Midoriya felt his heart go many miles per hour, his heart threatening to explode from the inside out. His hands twitched at his sides. Who were these people? Why would they jump a bunch of lost kids?
He looked up and made eye contact with the strawberry blonde. Her gaze was not how it was before when she bantered. No, her eyes were like those of a predator eyeing its prey, waiting for a slip up to pounce at any given moment. He gulped and took a step forward, wary of what they might do if he moved too quickly.“E-excuse me sir. We just need help getting back to Musutafu.”
“Musutafu? Where is that? In all my years, I’ve never heard of that place.”
Midoriya’s face went pale.
“You look like you just took the biggest shit.” He sighed and grabbed the rein’s of his black horse. “We better keep going or at this rate more abnormals will appear. Can you at least walk?”
“Y-yes sir, we can!”
“Get a move on. Walk in front of us. We’ll surround you from the sides and the back. Go. Now,” he commanded, his narrowed grey eyes following the group of bodies as they began to walk hesitantly in front of them.
‘We need to keep ourselves ready for anything,’ Midoria thought to himself as he peeked over his shoulder, his green eyes catching sight of the blond’s eyes. The blond was focused, looking forward at all times. He was tense by the looks of it. One of his hands was gripping the reins of the horse, the other hand was placed on the grey box.
‘Who are these guys?’ he wondered and faced forward once again, his green curls bouncing with each step he took.
He glanced over at Bakugou, who was even silent for once. ‘Is he scared like the rest of us then? Todoroki too?’
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
A big cement wall loomed before them as they approached, the brick gate with an outline of a girl—a princess—was being lifted off of the ground. As they walked inside, the gate slammed shut, the group of students jolting at the noise.
Hundreds of houses filled the vicinity, the main street full of a small city life. Children ran around without a care in the world. Men and women were working in small or large stands to provide for their family.
Midoriya noticed the change of clothes. Instead of shorts, tank tops or regular shirts, they were replaced with clothes of rough cloth. The pants were a little above the ankle, everyone wearing a coat or not, in some cases, a scarf.
“L-look! It’s the Levi Squad!!”
“So that must be his name,” Todoroki mumbled quietly, keeping his hard gaze displayed on his face.
“Spare me, please,” Levi mumbled to himself, ignoring the bright stares from people of all ages.
“Uh excuse me but—” Uraraka scooted closer to the female, gulping when the strawberry blond looked down at her. “—where exactly are we?”
“We’re in Wall Rose. The middle of the three walls.”
“Walls? If this is the middle, what happened to the first?”
“Destroyed. The Colossal Titan broke the gate, titans breaching inside and ate more than half of the civilians living in Wall Maria.”
Her demeanor dropped quickly as she took a step away, the brunette looking down at the pink of her shoes. “Oh,” was all she said.
“Damn these kids talk so much, huh?” Oluo yawned loudly to purposely irritate Petra.
Petra shook her head. “You act as if you don’t talk our ears off.”
“Oh but I know you lov-” His horse’s foot hit a rock, and the man jolted up as his teeth clamped around his tongue, his eyes widening as he let out a shriek of terror.
“I-is he okay?!” Midoriya gasped, blinking in surprise at the sudden change of mood.
“Yeah. Just ignore him. One day I’m hoping he bleeds to death like that,” Petra said in a playful tone, but deep down she meant what she said.
As they continued on, an old castle came into view. It was shabby, hands down. Vines surrounded the area in patterns that didn’t make sense. The door was sealed shut with iron bars.
“A castle?! Are you guys a bunch of princesses or something?! Is this some fucking fairytale?!”
“Oh wow, kid’s got spunk. I like that one.”
“Shut up, Oluo. No one cares what you like.” The blond, who they came to find out was named Eld, said with a disapproving shake of his head.
“Huh?! Some do! Isn’t that right Petra?”
“Say that again and I’ll cut your tongue and force it down your throat.”
Oluo let out a booming laugh, his hands up in a mocking motion. “Oh just wait till we get married, dear! We’re practically bickering like an old married couple!”
“Captain Levi!!”
“Oh here comes the other one we forgot.” Oluo sighed in annoyance, getting off of his horse and tying the rein to the stable.
A brunette with turquoise eyes came running up to the smaller man, stopping in front of him and placed his right fist to his heart, his left fist resting on the small of his back. “Glad to see you back, Sir!”
“Relax before you hurt yourself brat.”
“Sir!”
“Where’s Y/N?”
“She’s cleaning the room like you asked before you left!”
An approving nod escaped Levi’s throat, moving out of the way as one of his arms extended to the group of kids. “Introduce yourself.”
Eren let out an awkward cough, straightening his posture. “I’m Eren Jaeger! Pleasure to meet you all!”
Midoriya eyed him up and down quickly before stepping forward. “I’m Izuku Midoriya. That one is Ochako Uraraka, the one next to her is Tsuyu Asui. The blond is Katuski Bakugou, the one behind him is Tenya Iida and the red and white haired one is Shouto Todoroki.” he said, making sure to describe each of them so they knew who was who.
“Great. Now that this is done, we have to make preparations for the upcoming expeditions. Eren, go get Y/N for me.”
“Yes sir!” Eren saluted once more before taking off in the direction of the castle, swinging the doors open and slammed them behind them.
“Tch. That brat, I told him not to slam them anymore.”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
Eren ran through the quiet halls, the soles of his shoes hitting the rugged floor with each step he took. After the attack on the Trost District, he was brought up and joined the Levi squad, known as the Special Operations Unit, after Levi vowed to watch over him and would kill him if it came to that.
Everyday when he woke up in a sweaty shirt that was once clean, in that dirty cell at the bottom of the castle, the terrors that happened in the past five years would be on replay. The death of his mother, Carla Jaeger was something he could never forget. He remembers the look of fear in her eyes. She didn’t want to die. No one did. Sometimes throughout the day, he would get flashes of the death of people from his squad, specifically Mina and Thomas.
With the newfound power he had now, he could save those that not even Captain Levi could. When Hanji experimented on him for the first time, he remembered the look in Squad Levi’s eyes. All of them weren’t afraid to kill him, they were just fulfilling their duties as soldiers.
After Levi vowed to watch over Eren, he also brought another soldier with him. This soldier was tied for first place with Mikasa Ackerman within the 104th Cadet Corps. Of course the higher ups were wary of Levi’s decision but trusted his judgement nonetheless.
“Y/N! Captain Levi is calling you!”
Your eyes widened as you whipped around, holding the broomstick in between your hands in fear. “W-why?! I didn’t do anything right?! Oh god I knew I should've cleaned the stables before he asked!”
Eren tilted his head slightly and shook his head. “No. There are new people outside.”
“New people? Like new joins?”
“That’s the thing,” he started off and removed the piece of cloth around his neck, folding it. “I’ve never seen these people throughout our training years. Plus the clothes they wore are kinda, uh, ugly.”
A small giggle escaped as you leaned the broom against the wall. “They sound hideous already. Did he say why he needed me?”
“No, but I suggest you go now. I can go with you if you like. He probably needs both of us!”
“That’s kind of you, but I can go by myself Eren.”
“Y-you’ll get lost!”
You stared at him for a couple of seconds before approaching him, placing the back of your hand against his forehead. “Did they push you too hard? I’m sure if you ask for a break they’ll give it to you!”
With a growl, he pushed your hand off of his forehead, the shell of his ear turning red. “I’m fine!” His ears only turned red when he began to lie. “J-just get going! I’ll be out there soon!”
Your shoulders shook as your laugh blessed Eren’s red ears. “Alright alright! I’m going! Don’t hurt yourself, big boy,” you teased, sliding a finger under the strap on his back and pulled it, releasing it as it hit his back, a shriek emitting from the brunette’s mouth.
“H-hey!” he yelled, his foot stomping against the ground as he turned on his heel to get back at you but you were long gone already. He let out a deep sigh, a small smile gracing his features. His turquoise eyes glanced around the room before walking out the door. “This should be fine.” He reached out behind him, hand wrapping around the doorknob and slammed the door shut.
When he first joined the Scouts, he was always reminded in some shape or form on how much of a bloodthirsty monster he was. Of course he couldn’t fight back. He was chained most of the time when he wasn’t above helping Levi and the others. Eren considered you to be one of his trusted allies. When both of you were brought up, you stuck with each other no matter what. Every night before he went to bed, you would always visit him and listen to him talk. Talk about how poorly he was treated when he asked for basic things such as water or if he could use the bathroom. It broke your heart to hear him speak that way and watch the waterfall of tears escape its confinements.
Maybe that’s why Eren started to feel a certain way towards you. One that caused his whole face to heat up, made him feel sick to his stomach in a good way, or made him feel that he always had to protect you with his whole being. Eren knew he held feelings for you deep in his heart, but couldn’t say anything yet. When the time was right, he would bring it up.
He made a promise to himself, that you would see the outside world, with or without him.
As you walked down the halls to the outside, your smile immediately dropped as you passed by fellow soldiers. Instead it was replaced with a smirk. “He’s cute. Maybe I’ll date him before I’m found out. Or maybe I’ll convince him.”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
You rolled your head to lean against your shoulder, a loud groan leaving your lips. “Fuck, let’s do this.” You let out a deep breath and placed your hands on the wood, swinging them open. “C-Captain Levi! Eren said you needed me!” you panted softly, walking towards his smaller body. “I-I’m not in trouble am I?!”
“Yeah. Show these kids around. We can’t have them lounging around anywhere.”
You glanced over the brightly dressed group of people. ‘Oh. Eren was right about this,’ you thought and nodded. “Yes sir!” You glanced over at Petra and waved excitedly. Out of everyone from the Levi Squad, she was by far your favorite.
Petra enjoyed your enthusiasm. She thought it was much needed in such a depressing place.
“Oh she’s cute! I call dibs!” Bakugou yelled, startling you slightly.
Midoriya gasped. “Kacchan you can’t say things like that!”
“The hell I can!!”
You laughed nervously and rubbed the back of your head. “Uh..thank you? I guess? Anyway my name is Y/N Y/LN! I’m a part of Squad Levi just like Eren, the angry one that was here before me!”
“I told you I’m not angry!!”
You gasped in happiness and clasped your hands together, bringing them to rest against your cheek. “My hero is here!!”
Eren stumbled over his own feet and stuttered noises out. Levi sighed and brought his hand up and slapped Eren across the head.
Uraraka gasped in fear. “Y-you hit him!”
“He always does. Don’t worry too much about it,” Eld replied. “Y/N shouldn’t you show them around, like the Captain said?”
“Oh yeah! Sometimes I just get ahead of myself! Come on!” You looked over them before sticking your index finger out. “You! You look smart! I’m talking with you.”
Midoriya stared at your finger and nodded slowly. “Alright then. Come on, guys.” He waved to his group of friends, Bakugou growling in annoyance.
“Stupid Deku,” he mumbled.
Opening the doors inside, you watched each of them go inside then followed them from behind.
“Wait!”
“Bye Eren!” You laughed and shut the doors before he got any closer. You could hear a loud groan.
“So those people, they are your...team?” Iida said awkwardly, rubbing the back on his neck.
You nodded. “Uh huh. The short one is our Captain. I bet when they saw you they were gonna kill you huh?”
“How did you know that?” Tsuyu asked, somewhat interested if you had a special quirk. “Do you have a quirk?”
“A quirk? What’s that?”
“A quirk is something that we’re born with but doesn’t manifest till the age of four or five. Some people don’t get a quirk.” Todoroki chimed in coolly, running his hands on the grey walls of the hallway.
You opened your mouth to say something but decided to close it. “Nope! Don’t have one. Never heard of that anyway. I don’t think anyone here has… a power like that. Well except Eren of course!”
“That’s dude out there? Does he have a quirk?! What is it?!” Midoriya gasped in surprise, taking you by surprise.
“O-Oh! He can become a 15 meter titan and control it!” you stuttered out, your cheeks darkening. He was cute, you had to give it to him.
“That’s awesome! He’s just like Mt. Lady! But here!”
“Shut up nerd, no one cares about that.”
“Bakugou! You can’t talk like that to Midoriya!”
“And who are these people?! I have never seen them in my life! Y/N where did you get them from?!”
In front of you stood a rather tall woman, wearing glasses with an elastic band that went around her head. Her hair was in a messy ponytail, strands sticking out.
“Hanji!” you saluted her, the group behind you surprised by the sudden change of behavior. “Squad Levi found them outside the walls and brought them along!”
“Outside?!” she whispered yelled. “How did you guys end up outside the walls without permission?!”
“We didn’t, four eyes! The short stack out there just found us and brought us to this hell hole!”
A howling laugh left her mouth, clapping her hands together. “I like you!!” she stopped laughing and turned towards you. “We have even bigger news. The 57th Expedition is coming up. And we’re bringing members from the 104th Corps. Plus my two test subjects were killed two days ago. Everyone is getting their gear checked. We don’t know who it is yet, but we need to find out soon.”
In the back of your mind, a voice was laughing, taunting them for their stupidity. For people as intelligent as they were, they needed to open their eyes to realize the truth. You had a mask on. One that everyone would see soon. If you were slick enough, you could wear it for a bit longer.
“I heard about that, but Eren and I weren’t able to stay for long. Commander Erwin asked us a difficult question that we didn’t know how to answer.”
Hanji nodded in thought, kicking at the ground. “He told me what he asked. It sounds difficult for someone who doesn’t know what’s going on.”
“Sorry to interject but--” Midoriya chimed in, taking a step forward. “Maybe we can help? We are training for things like this.”
“Oh? You are? Well I don’t see why we would say no. Follow me.”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
You stood in the back, watching Hanji interact with Midoriya. He was pretty spot on with his observations. He reminded you of Armin in a way, over analyzing things to the point where they actually figured it out. You couldn’t help but mumble things underneath your breath.
“Can’t wait to finish them off,” you whispered in your mother tongue, a downcast on your face. You dug your fingers into your forearm, ignoring the pain that your nail was inflicting upon you.
“This is too fucking pointless!” Bakugou screeched, wisping out a single explosion from his palm. Hanji screamed in excitement and pointed at his hand. “How did you do that?!”
“What the hell do you mean four eyes?!”
“You have a power just like Eren does! Do all of you have one?!”
“Yes we all do ribbit.”
“You have to show me! I really really wanna see!” Hanji launched forward and grabbed both of Todoroki’s hands, gripping them with no intent of letting go. “What can you do?! Oh I bet you can become a 20 meter!”
“Squad Leader!” you yelled, walking towards the group now. “Harassing them like that won’t work out! We’re near an open area! Why don’t we just go and we can take our gear!”
Hanji slowly turned her head to you, her lenses of her glasses all fogged up, shielding her eyes from you. “That...sounds wonderful! That’s exactly what we will do! Your gear is over there! Hurry up now!”
You rolled your eyes at your commanding officer, making your way to the crate where your omnimobility direction gear was resting. You grew silent, your own thoughts circling your mind.
It’s three more days till the expedition. Three more days till Annie will pop up again. Three more days till you’ll be going back home with her.
You wrapped the gas compartment around your back, tightening the grip so it didn’t fall off. Your fist came down on the boxes beside you, eyeing the grip of your blades that peeked out. “Hate putting this shit on..” you whispered and turned around, shaking your legs a bit before following Hanji, the clanking of your gear sounding behind you.
“Is that heavy?” Midoriya asked out of nowhere.
“Oh uh..no? But yes at the same time. It’s light enough to keep us moving but enough to ground us again. We’ve been training with these for the past three years. It’s like second nature.”
“Oh so you mastered it?”
“Well I guess you can say that!” You smiled and nudged him with your elbow, making the poor boy stumble slightly and laughed nervously.
“I have something else I wanted to ask you.”
“Go right ahead, Midoriya.”
“How are you so happy? With those- those monsters out there, death lurking around every corner.”
You hummed and looked up at the sky, relishing the way the breeze felt against your body. “I don’t know. We’re all going to die eventually, some sooner than others. Why be sad when you can be happy? Seems like a waste of time to me. Although some of us will be affected forever.”
He stared at you, shocked by your answer. “How old are you?”
“I’m 16 years old. And you, Midoriya?”
“16 as well...” he trailed off. “Wow. It must be terrible huh?”
“Mm...yes. For me, it makes me feel alive. The adrenaline of fighting those things outside. For my own freedom. It makes surviving that much better, ya know?”
“Y/N!”
Your eyes widened as you turned on your heel, doing a little excited bounce with your feet. “I thought you couldn’t come!”
“Captain Levi gave me permission! Plus he had to come because Hanji sent Moblit to ask him if we could do more experiments!” Eren yelled over his pants for air, wiping the sweat off with his brown jacket.
“Awesome! Maybe he’ll let me take you down as well!”
“Oh is that so?” He grinned, his eyes crinkled at the corner.
You nodded proudly, placing your hands on your. “Yup! I’m going to be the next Captain Levi!”
“Oh I don’t doubt that!”
“Stupid fucking love birds.”
Eren whipped his head towards the noise, his eyes narrowing in on Bakugou’s hunched form. “So I can tell you’re the annoying one out of everyone.”
“What did you say, brown hair loser?!”
“I said what I said!”
“You fucking–” Bakugou growled.
“Enough! Bakugou stop picking fights!” Todoroki snapped, placing a hand on the blond’s shoulder. “Ignore him. He doesn’t know when to open and close his mouth.”
“Icy-Hot, you bastard!”
You giggled and bent over, touching your toes in a stretch. “I’m ready to start whenever Hanji!”
Hanji took a step back, holding a clipboard in her arms. “Alright Eren! Whenever you’re ready to begin! And you guys can just go along with them! I can’t wait to see what you guys can do!”
“Already forcing people you don’t know into doing things, huh shitty glasses?”
“Levi! Amazing you could join us! Yes! The blond one sent an explosion off from his hands! It was something I've never seen before! Maybe they could be of use!”
Levi cleared his throat and wiped something off from his jacket. “Maybe. Of course we have to fill Erwin in on this.”
Eren moved away from everyone, making eye contact with you and nodded back when you nodded in reassurance to him. He took a deep breath and brought his hand up to his mouth.
“What is he doing?” Uraraka whispered, bringing her hand to her mouth.
Eren opened his mouth and bit down on it, his teeth digging into his flesh, blood seeping out from his mouth.
Uraraka screamed, dropping her helmet to the ground, shaking Tsuyu by her arms. “H-He bit his hand! He’s gonna bite his hand off!”
“Relax!” You waved it off, no sense of urgency displayed on your visage. “He’s fine! Give it a second!”
A strike of lightning hit his place, smoke immediately circling the area, seeming endless. Midoriya watched in awe, the yellow of the lighting reflecting off of his green irises. “Wow..” he whispered softly, fascinated. This was something bigger than anything he had seen in all his years. Something more bigger than All Might.
He felt his heart drop when he saw a shadow behind the smoke, a figure standing up until it was looming over everyone.
A loud roar filled the area, the nearby birds flying away as fast as they could.
“..Woah” Todoroki whispered, his once narrowed eyes, open wide.
“Wow indeed! Is it possible to control something that huge?” Iida asked Hanji, staring up at the titan with brown hair.
“Yes! For Eren, it seems that his limbs are attached to the flesh inside. Picture it as a robot, his body is inside controlling every move!”
“Fascinating!” Iida yelled, fixing his glasses.
Midoriya glanced over at you. A scowl was present on your face. You didn’t seem happy at all. “Y/N? Are you okay?”
“Huh?!” you jolted up and nodded. “Yes I’m okay! Just thinking!” you smiled cheerfully and turned around, facing the trees. “No point in standing around right?! Come on Eren! After you!” you yelled, hands by your mouth to echo the sound to his ears.
Eren looked down at your ant like figures, his ears twitching before lifting a foot and took a step forward, beginning his run. Each step that he took was a shake to the core of the earth.
The shaking slowed down the farther he ran out.
“Meet you guys there!” You sent a wink towards Midoriya’s way, facing your hips toward a tree in front of you.
He felt his face heat up, sweat forming under the tuft of hair on his forehead. “W-what are you doing?!”
Hooks shot out from the box as you pressed a button on the blades, gas shooting out from the device behind your back. Your body was propelled forward, your hair flowing behind you as the hooks kept attaching from tree to tree.
“Go! You heard her!” Hanji shooed them with her hand.
They all looked at each other, hesitant to move.
“Well!” Bakugou snapped, opening his palms. “You heard the crazy lady!” He yelled and had a running start, moving his hands behind him, his explosions going off as he was shot forward, his feet off the ground.
“Might as well right.” Todoroki lifted his right arm and started running, shooting ice into the ground as it carried him off, riding the ice as if it was a surfboard.
“He’s right ribbit.” Tsuyu looked up at Uraraka, crouching down to a frog-like stance. “Just try not to throw up!”
Uraraka gasped and ran after the jumping girl. “Tsuyu! You can’t just say that!” she placed her hands onto her round cheeks and started to float off the ground, holding her breath in.
“Well Midoriya, guess this is a race then.” Iida smirked, getting in a runner position.
“Is that so?” Midoriya shot back, feeling the base of his quirk taking control. His body was now covered in sharp quick blue shocks. “Ready when you are!”
Iida laughed, taking off right there with Midoriya hot on his trail.
Hanji and Levi watched in astonishment. Well, mostly Hanji. Levi hardly showed any emotion to anyone or anything.
“Levi did you see those kids? They could- they could help on our expedition. That Bakugou kid, he could possibly explode their nape off. Todoroki could freeze any fast abnormal that comes our way and gives us a shot at killing them. Iida could probably get to places if we ever need to relay a message. The two girls seem to be able to work together, possibly able to tie the titan down. And Midoriya, he can maybe hit their nape off, if he’s strong enough. Levi do you know what this means?! With these kids we can go further than before!” Hanji exclaimed, throwing the clipboard on the floor
“We need permission from Erwin of course. He might accept them or not. If he does then we have to make sure they are our top priority alongside Eren. With those few, plus Y/N, we could possibly come back more than before.”
“They seem like they can hold their own.”
“Yeah. But they freaked out the minute one of those naked bastards came up.”
“Squad Leader! Captain Levi! The new recruits are here!”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
The clanging of the gear didn’t stop. Levi and Hanji escorted all of you back to base.
“I know for a fact it’ll be Mikasa and Armin,” you whispered, slowly walking to nudge yourself between  Eren and Midoriya.
“What about Sasha and Connie?”
You shook your head. “Connie decided he was gonna be in the Scouts but he looked like he met a ghost after the Trost Attack. I think he possibly changed his mind.”
Eren got quiet. “Mina and Thomas would have been here for sure.”
An uncomfortable silence swept between you two. “What happened was inevitable. As much as I don’t like to say it...” You trailed off, placing a hand on Eren’s tense shoulder and squeezed gently. “Some were bound to die whether we liked it or not.”
“Mina and Thomas?” Uraraka asked softly, afraid it was a touchy subject. You could hear the sudden hitch in Eren’s breathing.
“They were our comrades. They...unfortunately died when trying to protect the city of Trost. It’s a touchy subject for most, but it can’t be hidden forever.”
“I’m so sorry for that,” she whispered, hesitantly placing a hand on your wrist. “I-it’ll be okay!”
You glanced down at her hand, a smile crossing your features. “Thank you, Uraraka. I appreciate it.”
Shoes tapping against the floor increased in volume as voices got louder and more easier to hear.
“Captain! Can we be excused to talk to our friends?” you begged Levi, clasping your hands in front of your chest. He stared at you unemotionally, not caring what you did or didn’t do.
“Go.”
Your face broke out into a smile as your smaller hand put itself in Eren’s bigger hand. “Come on!” You tugged his body after you, both of you running towards your comrades.
Eren’s entire face heated up, the shell of his ear burning up. ‘S-she’s holding my hand!’ he thought frantically and desperately wanted to hold it forever. He gently squeezed your hand, afraid of what you might do. Much to his surprise, you squeezed back. He could pass out right there if he could.
“Sasha! Connie!” You waved, jumping up. “You guys joined after all?!”
The brunette girl turned around quickly and gasped. “You’re okay!” She launched forward at you, wrapping her arms around you tightly. You reciprocated her hugs, squeezing the life out of her. She was one of the few hearts you didn’t want to break, but you had too.
“I didn’t know h-he took you! You didn’t say goodbye!” she wailed, rubbing her cheek against yours.
“Sasha you were one of the first I told!”
“Well if it isn’t Y/N huh?”
You looked over your shoulder, your eyes widening. “What are you doing here? I thought you went to join the Military Police.”
The two toned male sighed and shook his head. “No. I didn’t after all. Marco...”
“Marco? Where is Marco?”
The taller male turned and looked at Eren. “He’s dead. He died in Trost.”
Eren’s eyes widening, his heart stopping as his blood turned cold. “You're joking. Marco’s not dead. He’s hiding somewhere, right?”
Jean stayed silent, staring him down.
“Oh my god,” you whispered and covered your mouth, looking down at the solid ground, shutting your eyes but no tears came out. Instead, under your hand, your lip curled in a grin.
“Eren, are you hurt? Have they done anything to treat you unkind?” A ravenette girl came forward, taking Eren’s hands in her own. “Have they put you under hard punishments?”
“W-what? No, I'm fine Mikasa. If anything I have to thank Captain Levi for saving me.”
Mikasa growled, her black eyes focused on the short man not that far away from them. “He wi- Who are they?”
“Hm? Oh them. We don’t really know who they are just yet. Captain Levi found them outside the walls.”
“Outside? And they weren’t arrested?” Armin asked, staring at Midoriya. “Huh, that’s weird.”
Midoriya looked away and rubbed his arm. “I don’t know how we’ll get home. I don’t even know how we got here in the first place. Do any of you?”
“Not at all, Midoriya. My first thought was that this was a simulator of some sorts. That maybe Mr. Aizawa could come out of nowhere.”
Midoriya nodded and rubbed his chin. “Possibly...”
“What the hell are you looking at, long face?!” Bakugou yelled, walking up to Jean, who was staring him up and down.
“You of course,” Jean replied, a small smirk forming. “How could I not stare when someone’s hair looks like explosive shit?”
“You look like a stupid fucking horse!”
Connie stifled his laugh, covering his mouth with his hand. “H-he called you a horse! Oh my god that is always so priceless!”
Jean growled, obviously fed up. “Least I have some fucking hair you idiot! Where’s yours huh?! You still look like a baby with that head of yours!”
“Least my head is normal looking, Jean-Boy!”
“I thought I told you to forget about that Connie!”
“He always has to start something huh?” Todoroki sighed, his tufts of hair shaking with his head. “He better keep his mouth shut. We aren’t at school anymore. Who knows if he comes into contact with the wrong person.”
“Agreed. I overheard the woman with the glasses talking with the short one about making us join...an expedition, I think it was,” Tsuyu whispered, playing with the cuff of her hero costume.
“An expedition? What’s that?” Iida muttered to himself. “Maybe against those things we saw outside?”
“I mean it’s a possibility, but why us? Maybe Eren is the only one with a said ‘quirk.’” Uraraka voiced in, quoting the word quirk.
Midoriya looked over his shoulder, looking for you. Your back was faced towards them, looking up at a buff blond and a tall black haired man. He couldn’t describe their expressions. From the looks of it, it looked like you weren’t happy. You were wildly moving your hands to prove a point you were trying to make, every now and then he heard an angry noise emit from your mouth.
The other two in front of you didn’t look pleased as well. The blond and you were going at it while the black haired was a step back away from the mess, but still listening.
“Why do you always seem so unhappy Y/N,” Midoriya whispered.
“Can she at least come, Reiner?” you growled, your hands gripping the hem of your brown jacket.
“Yes of course she can. She made sure of it. Don’t worry about it,” Reiner sneered, eyes flickering around to make sure you weren’t heard. “Stop bringing it up so much.”
“I’m just making sure. I knew she was going to join the Military Police but I just need clarification.”
The boy beside him sighed nervously. “Look,” he began, “The more you worry, chances are it won’t go well. For the sake of it, don’t bring it up.”
Your eyes stared intensely into his black eyes, as if you were mentally fighting with him. Eventually you faltered and rolled your eyes before smiling. “Got it.”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
Time seemed to pass faster than light. Has it really been two days already? Two days that the students of UA were stuck in a hellhole, with no teacher in sight?
The students from UA got along well with the cadets from the Survey Corps. It was safe to say some got along better with others with some, or some clashed with others more than usual.
Midoriya would say that he got closer to you. During your chores he always offered to help and of course you always said yes, Levi’s standards were a bit over the top. He noticed your subtle changes. You seemed more tired throughout the day, were you staying up too late at night? What was keeping you up for so long?
Your eyes told a thousand tales that Midoriya wanted to analyze and read every single word, getting closer and closer to the deep meaning of your life. These past two days, he knew that you’ve been concealing your inner thoughts. He begged inside that you could trust him. Was it the past memories? Was it finally getting to you?
At the moment he was watching you from a distance. You were wearing your uniform without the jacket and your boots were resting beside your body. With your eyelids closed, it looked like you were meditating.
Debating whether he should approach or not, you opened your eyes and looked over towards his standing body. “Midoriya?” you questioned, “What are you doing here?”
Embarrassed that he was caught, he stuttered with his words and looked away. “I w-was looking for you is all! I couldn’t find you earlier!”
A small “oh” left your lips as you stayed silent before a smile broke on your face. “Well come sit down then, since you made it this far.”
His body moved without thinking, swiftly sitting next to you.
You hummed softly, gazing forward as you stared at the sky, above the top of the 50 meter wall.
“Are you nervous?” he blurted out then covered his mouth with his hand. “I’m sorry! You don’t have to answer that!”
Ignoring his second choice of words, you sighed and slicked the small baby hairs back in place. “Course I am. I don’t want to die. I don’t want to fail.”
“This means a lot for you guys huh?”
“Especially Eren. He’s our most important asset. Without him, we will probably never make it further. We need him. He’s our top priority when protecting.”
“Is he the only one?”
You tugged at your lower lip with your teeth. “What do you mean?”
“Is he the only one that can turn into a Titan?”
“As far as I know...” you trailed off and watched a leaf petal fall from the tree you were sitting against. “He is. I don’t think anyone has that type of power.”
“Can I ask you one more thing?” he questioned, scooting closer to you, his hand brushing against yours that sent chills down your spine.
Instead of trusting your voice, you simply nodded.
“Why have you been acting differently lately?”
Crap. He noticed.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Midoriya.”
“Oh come on. You look more tired lately.” His hand reached out, his pointer finger rubbing the forming bags underneath your eye. “What’s going on inside that head of yours?” he whispered. He hoped he wasn’t invading your personal privacy.
You choked up. You could feel the tears welling up inside. This was something you didn’t want to happen. You didn’t need some stranger cracking your own walls that you set so high that it was impossible for someone to reach. “I...” You trailed off and took a shaky sob. “I don’t know.”
“That’s okay. It’s okay to not know. I know we just met two days ago but you can trust me. I won’t ever judge you. I can and will support you no matter what.”
“Midoriya–”
“Izuku.”
“H-huh?” You looked up, your vision blurry by the onslaught of your tears. “Izuku?”
He nodded. “Call me Izuku. It’s my first name.”
“Izuku,” you whispered, the name rolling off of your tongue flawlessly. “Izuku.” You whimpered and wrapped your arms around him, burying your head into his chest.
He tensed up by your sudden movements but relaxed, wrapping his sturdy arms around your form, one of his hands rubbing small soothing circles on the middle of your back. “It’s okay to cry you know.” he said, as your body started shaking in his arms. “Crying is a normal human thing, and you guys have been through hell. You guys are so strong, especially you! To be keeping a strong face for everyone.”
That’s not what it was, you desperately wanted to tell him, but couldn’t. These past two days he’s been filled with information about the expedition and what to expect. Perhaps the one who killed the two test subjects, Sawny and Bean would be there as well. There was already word that there was a traitor.
You couldn’t speak up.
“I just miss my friends is all,” you meekly whispered. It wasn’t a total lie. You missed Marco, Mina, and Thomas dearly. It was just something that wasn’t clearly on your mind.
He stayed silent and began to hum softly, his arms tightening around your body. “You won’t be alone tomorrow. You have us by your side to make sure nothing happens to you, Y/N.”
You squeezed your eyes, a slight ache forming by how tight they were. Your hands reached forward and gripped onto the material on his shirt, holding onto it tight as if you were afraid to let go.
Not one to pry, Midoriya would wait until you were comfortable to speak your feelings to him. He didn’t want to give you the impression that he was a pushy kind of guy. He would wait hours, days even months for you to speak your mind to him. He always thought you were a mysterious type of person.
Your voice was gentle, far more softer than he had heard. If a dove had a voice, it would sound like you. “You’ll be there?”
“I will. We all will.”
“Thank you, Izuku. I appreciate it.”
You were eating yourself from the inside. Your conscience was starting to get the best of you, trying to make you feel guilty for the cause of your actions in less than 24 hours. The guilt weighing down on you, something you couldn’t handle. You couldn’t back down now. No, you had too. It was a promise you were forced to make five years ago.
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
The Scout Regiment made their preparations. Filling up their gas with max capacity, making sure they were aware of a possible death in the nearby future. It wasn’t something they wanted to know, but it would forever be engraved in their brain.
The 57th Expedition started less than an hour ago. So far things were running smoothly to say the least.
Each student from UA was placed within a group, separated from their friends. Bakugou, Iida, Uraraka and Tsuyu were placed individually in the different four communication squads. Todoroki and Midoriya were placed in the Levi Squad, alongside you and Eren. Levi thought they would be best fit with him.
“The right wing spotters got wiped out sir!” Petra yelled, looking at the beam of black smoke emitting from the side of her body.
“Relay the message.”
“Wait!” you called out, biting your lip as you eyed the smoke. “I’ll go relay it! Petra can stay here sir!”
Levi stayed quiet, his hair brushing against his forehead as his horse ran at top speed. “Fine. Go.”
“Should she be going alone?” Todoroki asked from behind you, Midoriya on the other side of him. “I mean this is dangerous territory. Wouldn’t she need some sort of backup?”
“I’m fine!” you yelled over the wind. “Captain, trust me!”
Trust was a funny word in your vocabulary now. Trust was something that was nonexistent now.
“Go!” he yelled.
You nodded quickly and tugged the reins the other way, your horse letting out a strain noise.
“Be careful Y/N!” Eren said, his hand squeezing your elbow as you brushed past him. Midoriya watched the display and brushed off the feeling of envy.
“I will,” was all you said before taking off in the direction of the black smoke, your form getting smaller and smaller the further you went.
“She’ll be okay right?” Midoriya asked no one in particular.
“Course she will. She may be a kid, but that kid has fight in her. No one stands a chance against that girl. Now keep your eyes on the mission ahead of us!” Oluo snapped, placing his hand on top of Midoriya’s head and made him face forward again. “Don’t make us mess up because of you!”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
Armin tumbled along the dirt, the members of his squad long dead. The skinless titan, resembling a female swung the wire of his comrade, throwing them down into the ground before stepping on them as she halted to a stop.
Armin scattered up quickly and sat on his knees, the hood of his cape covering his face. A dark shadow looked over him, his eyes widening in fear. He slowly looked up as his hood was lifted off his head.
Sweat formed underneath the front of his bangs. A small puff of air left his lips as the Titan stared into his eyes before letting his head drop back down and stood up. She turned on her heel and took a step forward before bolting down the other direction.
“Why did she...she didn’t kill me,” he whispered and brought a shaky hand to his face, feeling the rugged skin. “She- she stared at my face.”
“Armin!”
The blond boy gasped and looked over. “Reiner!”
Reiner came to his aid, holding the rein of Armin’s horse. “Are you okay? What are you doing in the middle of Titan territory without a horse?”
Armin hoisted himself onto his horse, grunting at the pain that shot throughout his body. “She came out of nowhere. We can’t stay here or more Titans night show up.”
Reiner nodded as they turned their horses abruptly, moving onward.
“She has intelligence. She’s not like any other. She’s...she’s just like Eren.”
“Wait what? How are you so sure?”
“Think about it, it makes sense. She was protecting all of her weak spots. Titan eat people but aren’t murderers. They act on instinct just like the rest of us. However, she just killed them and went about.”
“Like Eren huh? Why didn’t we get a signal? We’re the right wing spotters wiped out?”
“No matter what we still need to,” Armin reached into his pouch and pulled out the flare, twisting it on but to not avail. “Dammit!”
Horse steps from behind were approaching. A yellow flare was sent into the air.
“Why are those things so fucking loud?!”
“Why are you so loud?!”
“Looks like Jean and Bakugou got it.” Reiner looked back forward. “Gotta admit she has a nice ass.”
“You’re really looking at that?! I thought you guys had better game than to be looking at an ass of a Titan!” Bakugou yelled, his gauntlets clanking every now and then.
“Shouldn’t we focus on what's at stake? She could’ve lured the Titans and ambushed the right wing spotters! That’s why we couldn’t see her until she was right on top of us!”
“Jean’s right,” Armin began, his hand reaching for his hood. “She has to be after someone. My bet is Eren. He should be in the center rank, the safest out of the whole formation. But we need to attack her now before it gets worse.” He looked to his right before looking to his left. “Put your hoods on. She won’t kill you if she can’t see you.”
They all did as told, even Bakugou pulled his own up. The Survey Corps supplied the students with their own cape but they still wore their hero costumes underneath.
“If I get close enough I can blow her fucking nape off.” Bakugou growled, sparks popping in his palms. “I’m ready to take her down!!”
With a spoken plan between the four, they moved places and went forward.
The female titan slowed her pace down and averted her eyes downward, a body coming closer to her.
She suddenly swiped at the body, a wave of air hurling towards them that sent their hoodie off, revealing who the person was.
Jean covered his face with his hands before pulling them down. With a turn, she bent down and swiped her hand down, knocking the horse underneath.
Armin’s body fell against the ground, his gear breaking off with each hit it took, his head smacking face first. He let out a low groan, turning his head to face them. Blood was swarming around his eyes.
“Oi you big ugly bitch!!” Bakugou yelled, jumping off from his horse, landing on his feet. “Look at me when I’m talking to you!!”
“Bakugou, no!” Reiner yelled, taking his hood off.
The female titan swung her fist around, her fist aiming right at Bakugou’s body.
“Don’t let Eren die in vain!” Armin yelled, coughing up spit and blood. “She killed him. She’s the reason why he’s dead!! I saw my best friend die in front of my eyes!”
The titan’s arm stopped moving, her body tensing up.
“Why the hell would you bring that up now?!” the explosive blond yelled, stumbling backwards.
“Perfect.” Reiner whispered to himself and shot a hook into the nape of the neck.
‘Is he crazy for doing that?’ Jean thought, leaning against a tree as he watched.
Reiner sped towards her, his blades ready to slice. The female titan turned her head slightly, a smirk growing on her face as she caught him in her fist.
All of their eyes widened. Reiner struggled in her grip, her finger coming on top and resting on his head, pushing down.
Blood exploded from her hand.
“W-wait...” Armin reached out, using his other hand for support.
They all stood in shock.
Did Reiner really just die? After all those years of hard work, did he really just get killed?
Her fingers were cut off, Reiner’s body drenched in Titan blood as smoke emitted from her hand.
“Come on!” he yelled and ran towards Armin, holding his much smaller body on his side. “We can’t stay here long!”
The female titan kept her eyes trained on her palm, reading the engraved words through the smoke. She got up slowly and ran back the direction she came from.
“She’s retreating!”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
You kept your blades close to your body, resting on a high tree branch, your eyes training on the area around you.
“Come on, where are you?” you whispered to yourself, your adrenaline losing its purpose by each walking second.
You didn’t relay the message. Instead, you went a different route, passing by the squad formations. Deep down you felt horrible. The amount of lives that would be lost by your bloodthirsty ways.
The sounds of hooks caught your attention as feet landed beside you. You looked up at the person, looking into blue like sky eyes.
“Annie, what took you so long?”
Annie sighed softly, rubbing the back of her neck. “Got caught up. I got stopped by Jean and Bakugou along with Armin. Reiner told me where the Levi Squad was placed. They’re in the safest spot, the center rank.”
“The center rank,” you whispered, engraving it in your brain. “Alright. What’s your plan now.”
“All I need you to do Y/N, is stay hidden. Hide in the highest of branches if you have too. Then when the time calls, do it.”
“And what if you’re able to do everything?”
“You’ll know. They’re heading deeper in here as we speak.” She motioned to the entrance with her finger.
“And the Levi Squad?”
“Came in after Erwin ordered it.”
You stayed silent and put your blades back in place, stretching your arms over your head. “Are you able to keep your part in?”
“Can you?”
You laughed and waved your hand at her, her face holding any emotion but amusement. “What’s so funny Y/N?”
“You! Lighten up!”
“Why? This is a mission we have to fulfill.”
“I know that! But would it kill you to smile?!” You pouted and placed your hands on her pale cheeks, dipping your fingers into the corner of the lips and brought them upward. “See?! Better already!”
She placed a hand on your mouth, bringing a finger to her lips, indicating you to be silent.
Voices from underneath the trees could be heard.
“They’re here. Right under us. I’ll give you a sign. You’ll know what it is. Are you ready, Y/N?”
Your arms fell back by your sides as you nodded. You closed your eyes for a few seconds before opening them, the look of a killer was now staring at Annie.
“I am. Let’s make them pay.”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
Squad Levi kept their pace as they ventured into the forest, each of them confused as to why they changed course.
Midoriya looked over at Eren before looking at Todoroki. Todoroki seemed to be calm, but Eren was a different story. “Captain, why are we here? Why did we change course? Where is Y/N? She’s been gone for a long time!!”
Levi didn’t respond back, keeping his thoughts to himself.
The squad seemed to notice your disappearance. They already accepted the fact that you could have gotten eaten. But part of themselves didn’t want to believe it
Just where in the hell were you?
“Why are we here? It doesn't make sense,” Oluo mumbled to himself, sweat pouring from his head from nerves.
“Is everyone else clueless just as we are Midoriya?” Todoroki asked, sending a glance to the green haired boy.
“It just doesn’t make sense to me. What are we running from? Titans that we can take down without a doubt?”
“Hey you two! Keep your head ahead of this! We can’t lose focus or you’ll slow us down!”
“But Captain!” Eren pleaded. “Why are we here?! Why are we left in the dark!”
“Just keep on moving Eren,” was Levi’s reply before going quiet, listening carefully. “Blades drawn, now.”
Each member did as told, their blades in their hands. Todoroki’s fingers on his right hand curled ever so slightly, an icy mist emitting from his fingertips. Midoriya’s body lit up, blue sparks cracking out from the effect of his quirk.
“It can happen in the blink of an eye.” Levi told his squad, preparing for the worst.
It all seemed still. Everyone on the tip of their toes. The heavy breathing from each soldier could be heard. Their hearts racing within their chest that it could burst. The scenery around them passed by quickly. It was like a screen on replay. Slowly, their thoughts were eating at them.
Where was it? Was it coming up from behind already? Was this their last moments? They didn’t even get to say goodbye to their families back at home.
Midoriya could feel his heart beat rapidly in his chest. This was bigger than anything he had faced before. When he fought Stain with Iida and Todoroki, he didn’t feel anything like this. They were able to figure out Stain’s quirk. They had no knowledge on this creature. When would this nightmare end?
His green eyes widened. ‘The others!’ he thought and gripped the reins of the horse tighter. Were they all still alive? They had to, right?
He shook his head violently. No, he couldn’t be thinking that way, especially like this.
He felt his stomach drop when a loud noise came from behind, the screams from reinforcements.
“Captain!! Your orders sir!!” Petra yelled, gripping the trigger of her blades tight that caused her fingers to slowly turn white.
“We keep moving! Faster!”
“But Captain! If we can’t defeat that thing then who can?! They need help! We can’t just let them die!” Eren yelled, looking over at his shoulder, watching as the female titan smashed her fist against the tree, the blood exploding. “Another one! Dammit they didn’t have to die!!”
“Eren eyes forward!!”
“Are you saying I should abandon my comrades?!”
“Dammit! Yes Eren!”
Eren stared down at his hand and brought it up slowly. “I don’t need anyone! I can defeat her by myself,” he whispered and opened his mouth.
“Eren no!” Midoriya yelled, looking over his shoulder before looking back at him. “We have to trust each other! We barely know each other but we have to work as a team no matter what!”
“Midoriya is right Eren!” Petra yelled, keeping her eyes on the brunette. “Have faith in us!”
Eren stared into the meat of his hand, eyeing it as he thought about his motives. He was with the best group of titan slayers in history. There was no need to be by himself. That’s how they survived so long. They had faith within each other.
“I’m with you!” Eren cried out as he put his hand back down, a smile rising onto Petra’s face.
The squad kept their momentum forward, the female titan gaining on them from behind.
“Fire!!”
They passed by artillery, the female titan halting her movements as hooks shot out from the device and pierced every part of her body, immobilizing her.
“See?! We outsmarted the damn thing! Don’t you ever underestimate us again green horn! Agreed?!”
“Agreed!”
“I’ll be back. Stay on top of the branches until it’s time to go back. Keep an eye on the horses as well,” Levi said, before shooting a hook into the tree, letting his body move with the gear.
“We did it!” Midoriya yelled, punching the air with his fist.
“You got some fight in you kid.” Eld said, bringing a hand down harshly onto his shoulder, causing the green haired boy to wince. “Glad to see both of you could keep up along with Eren of course. I don’t know what exactly they were planning but it worked out perfectly fine. And you.” He pointed a finger at the bi-colored boy. “You don’t seem to talk much like these guys. I like you.”
“Thank you,” was all Todoroki said as he nodded in approval.
What seemed like hours was actually minutes. You awaited at the top of the branches, playing with the hem of your cape. You heard the noises go off from within the forest. You were starting to get tired of the waiting. What kind of organized plan was this. If Annie wanted to do things her way, she should have simply told you she was going to do all of it instead of wasting your precious time.
You let your head move to the side, resting your ear on top of your shoulder as you awaited for the longing signal. You sighed softly and closed your eyes.
A few seconds you snapped your eyes open again, a light blush coating your cheeks. “Midoriya?’ You whispered and slapped your cheeks a couple of times, the stinging lingering on the tender spot.
The scream of a dying animal resonated throughout the forest, the birds terrified as they flew away from the mess. You froze at the noise, making sure you heard clearly. Your eyelids lowered in a narrow stare, your hand coming up and pulled your hoodie over your face. Your hands wandered down until two blades rested in your hands.
“My turn.”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
It wasn’t a success. The female titan managed to get away. Commander Erwin demanded the Scouts that they would retreat. The Levi Squad retreated on ODMG while Todoroki and Midoriya used their quirks to aid in the trip back.
A green flare was shot in the air.
“Huh?” Gunther looked up. “Captain Levi.” He reached into his pocket and took the gun out, shooting a green smoke signal into the air.
You stared at the signal and let the small gun fall from your fingertips. You let your body fall off the branch as you made your way towards the smoke signal, making sure your hood didn’t fall.
You stayed off on the sidelines, the trees passing by you quickly. You overheard the yells of Petra and Oluo along with the sounds of the hooks.
Gunther looked over at your body, his eyes glossing over with curiosity. “Captain Levi?”
At the name your body shifted slightly. His eyes widening in realization. “Shit!”
Your body sped towards him, your blades coming into contact with his throat, the wire of his hook cutting off in the process. His body went backward, his head colliding with the bark of the tree as it cracked, breaking his neck.
“Gunther!!” Eren yelled, slowing down, a gasp leaving his lips. Gunther’s mouth was oozing blood, his eyes open but dull.
“Keep on moving!” Midoriya nudged him with his arm as he jumped off of the trees, his quirk allowing him too as Todoroki passed by, his ice aiding him.
“Who was that?!”
“Is it the female titan?! Does she have an accomplice?!”
“I don’t know but we’re about to find out!”
A lightning bolt struck the trees, sending a vibration that reminded Midoriya of the bolts Kaminari was able to produce. The rumbling sounds of feet got louder and louder. The body of a titan emerged from the trees, its hair flowing behind.
“T-That’s not the same one!!”
“There two?!”
“Whatever! Leave it to us!! You three get out of here!”
“But I can help!”
“Eren no! Go!” Eld yelled, his body changing its course with Petra and Oluo following suit.
“Good luck!” Midoriya yelled, keeping his eyes forward. The image of Gunther’s dead body lingered in his mind. Something as brutal as that was something he didn’t want to see. He wanted to be in his dorm, looking at all his All Might figurines.
The female titan kept her eyes trained on the three. Her eyes narrowed into slits, a look of a feral animal. Just like Annie’s titan, this resembled a female, the only difference was the longer hair, the color the same as the person controlling it.
“Whatever we do, we bring the bitch to her knees and make her pay for what she has done!” Oluo yelled, pointing to his underarms, an indicator on where to strike.
The trio worked in unison, the same goal in mind.
The female titan avoided the hook that tried coming into contact with her face, swiping her arm upward. Petra took this as a chance, slashing her blades into her underarms. Eld spun and threw his blade, hitting the titan in her eyes as she let out a pained scream.
“Those aren’t even close to those you killed!” Oluo yelled, slicing her achilles heel that sent the titan to fall.
The titan’s arms were cut up, limp by her sides as her nape was wide open to be cut, her eyes shut and bleeding out.
“There it is! Go for the  nape and pull her out!” Eld’s hook drove into the muscle of her nape, the gas of his device sending him forward. The second he got closer the female titan moved her head towards him and opened her mouth, shutting her teeth around his midsection then spit him out, his body falling into two pieces. The titan looked at Petra, both of her eyes opening.
Petra screamed in terror, unable to control herself as her body was lowering and lowering towards the ground. “How was she able to regenerate so fast?! That’s impossible!”
The titan staggered to get up, leaning against the tree before running forward, her arms flailing behind her, still limp.
“She couldn’t have done that! And for it to be both eyes?!”
“Petra, pull yourself together!!”
A final scream left the strawberry blond’s lips as a foot collided with her body, sending her straight into the ground.
“Petra!!” Midoriya yelled, his feet digging into the bark of the tree as he jumped back, running back to help.
“Midoriya wait!” Todoroki called for his friend.
“How can I be a hero if I can’t help those in need?! I can’t call myself one if there are people who need me!” Midoriya replied back, Eren right by his side. Todoroki followed them quickly.
“W-Where’s Oluo?!”
The female titan slowly lifted her head, a wicked grin tugging at the corner of her lips. Oluo’s body was sticking out of her mouth, his head inside. She spit his headless body onto the ground, spitting his head somewhere, the blood evident on her lips.
“I’ll kill you!!” Eren yelled, his teeth clamping down onto his thumb. His roar was heard throughout the forest, his feet hiding the ground that made Midoriya and Todoroki jump.
Midoriya looked up at the 15 meter female titan, noticing a small resemblance but couldn’t pinpoint it.
With Todoroki and Midoriya both by his side, they could take down the titan, with or without Captain Levi.
Eren roared and ran towards her, sending a punch forward that she avoided with ease. Todoroki ran towards her quickly, shooting ice out of his hand near her feet. As if she expected it, she jumped back quickly, steam emitting from her arms as they healed back up.
“She knows!” Midoriya yelled, the movement of his shoot style colliding with her ankle that made her stumble. “She knows what we can do!!”
“So what did you suggest we do Midoriya?!”
“We have to predict her movements!” he yelled, avoiding the foot that almost sent him flying.
Eren sent another punch, her hand grabbing his hand with ease. She dug her nails into his arm, a scream leaving Eren’s lips as she threw him to the ground. Eren’s body tumbled as he got up quickly, a three finger hole pierced in his arm.
With the help of Midoriya, he carried Todoroki on his back as he jumped off a tree, Todoroki shot a beam of ice from her waist down, immobilizing her.
The titan’s eyes widened as she struggled, Eren’s fist colliding with the center of her face that caused her head to slam back into the tree.
“Eren!”
Midoriya looked at the voice and felt a sense of relief. Two of the strongest soldiers in the Survey Corps, Levi and Mikasa Ackerman were now at their aid.
Seeing they were distracted, the female titan kicked her leg forward, shattered pieces of ice falling around them, their sharp edges piercing the ground.
Levi watched the titan’s movement, his squinted eyes zoning on her face.
Eren took a fighter's position, bringing his hands to protect himself. She followed suit, her back leg further than the one in front, awaiting Eren’s move.
‘He’s going to attack full on. His right arm will be the first move,’ she thought. Sure enough Eren did just that, being able to avoid his attack. She lifted her leg and kicked him in his stomach, sending him back with utter force.
Mikasa quickly passed by from behind, slicing the back of her knees, a weak spot on a Titan. The female titan fell to one knee, a hand on the ground to stable herself. Midoriya jumped from a tree, using the strength from his quirk and kicked the back of her head, her head falling forward as her nape was wide open.
In a blink of an eye, Levi cut the nape open with his blades, a blast of smoke searing out. He jumped back, his hook dangling himself from a tree as he protected his face with his arms from the powerful force.
The muscle on the nape of the Titan was open, a body stuck to it like glue. The insides clung to the person’s face, making visible Titan shifter marks, tears streaming down their face.
Eren stopped breathing. His eyes could only focus on the person who was controlling the titan. Already out of his Titan form, his turquoise eyes filled up with glossy tears. There they were, the person who killed his comrades, who killed most of the survey corps with no problem at all.
“Y/N..?” he whispered softly, his shoulders shaking violently as he sniffed, wiping his nose with the back of his head. “I-It’s fake! It has to be!”
Midoriya watched quietly, silent tears of agony flowing without a care in the world. These past three days that he was stuck in this world with his friends, made him think twice about the kind of life he had. Here, everyone was taught you either had to fight to survive, or let yourself get killed.
This was the person that he felt he could connect with, someone that showed joy no matter what the cause was. Midoriya didn’t know what to feel. Should he feel pain? Should he be upset? Confused? So many emotions filled his whole being.
“Knock her out, she’s waking up!”
Mikasa growled and raised her blade up, hitting you in the back of the head with her grip, your head falling forward.
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
Your eyes fluttered up, the bright light of the room hitting your tired eyes. You blinked a couple of times, adjusting to your surroundings. You tried to lift a hand up but to no avail it wouldn’t budge. You looked down, noticing both of your hands were chained up with no possible way for you to unlock them.
“How could you.”
“Huh?” You looked up tiredly, a male with brown hair standing in front of you, his hand gripping the bars that separated the both of you.
“I said how could you?!” Eren yelled, banging a hand on the bar. “You killed innocent people Y/N! Or is that even your name?! Was this a whole game to you?!”
As you opened your mouth, he violently shook his head. “I can’t believe you! After all these years, all the blood sweat and tears are down the drain?! After all those times of me being called a monster, it wasn’t me! The only fucking monster I know is you!!”
You listened to his every word, each word spoke with venom that poisoned your heart more and more. He had every right to say how he felt, and how he felt is the way you knew how we would react.
“What do you want me to say? I'm sorry?”
“Do you even remember their faces..”
“I remember all of them. Their screams as I got closer. The constant begging for me to let them go. Wanna know something?” you whispered, leaning forward to the best of your ability. “I loved it. I loved seeing their faces at my mercy.”
Eren stared you, horrified by the sudden laughing coming from your mouth. “I thought I knew you..”
“Well now you do!”
“Eren, Captain Levi said it’s time to go.” Midoriya walked in, placing a hand on the brunette’s shoulder. “Let me have a minute.”
“But-“
“Please Eren.” Midoriya placed a hand on his back, pushing him out much to his disliking.
“Hi, Izuku.”
“Midoriya.”
“Aww,” you pouted before grinning. “Lost those privileges huh?”
“You lost them a long time ago. I just need to know something.”
“Well,” you dragged the last syllable, batting your eyelashes at him. “What is it?”
“Why would you do it? They were your comrades, weren’t they?”
“Comrades huh? Is that what you think?”
He nodded.
You eyed his movement before smiling. As you opened your mouth to start talking, no words came out.
Midoriya blinked a couple times and rubbed his ear gently. “What?”
A small ringing noise left your mouth as you continued to talk. The ringing got louder and louder until it was screeching, causing him to cover his ears.
“Wake up!!”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
Midoriya gasped for air, clutching the front of his soaked sleep shirt. He looked around frantically as his eyes stopped on his phone. He launched forward and grabbed it, yanking it from the wire of the charger, turning the phone on.
October 3, 7:40 AM.
A groan of relief let his lips, placing the phone on his chest. Not a second past as he opened his phone again, eyeing the time.
“I’m going to be late!!”
Saved by the bell, Midoriya sat in his respected spot, panting hard as a light sweat forming under his hair.
“Woah dude you look bad, what happened to you?” Kaminari asked, looking him up and down. There were eyebags forming, his hair a mess as his uniform was not put on right.
“I had...the weirdest dream! And I woke up late as well and I had to rush it here!” Midoriya said through his pants, shaking the school jacket off of him as he rolled his sleeves to his elbows.
“Least you’re here man! Apparently we-“
“Kaminari stop talking!” Aizawa sighed and ran a hand through his black hair. “Today we have a new transfer student. Don’t make it weird.” He eyed Mineta for a good five seconds. “Make her feel welcomed. Come in.” He waved towards the door, walking over to his sleeping bag. “Introduce yourself or whatever. Your name, quirk or anything you want. Just don’t be loud.” He got into his sleeping bag and zipped it up, curling into the corner of the room.
There was an awkward silence as they watched their teacher.
A girl walked into the room, a hum leaving her lips. She had a small skip to her step. Midoriya looked up, a choked gasp leaving his mouth, his scarred hands covering his mouth once the noise left. There she was, not covered in blood or shackles. No white pants and a short brown jacket. But their school uniform instead.
Her hands behind her back and a big smile on her face, she said, “Hi! My name is Y/LN Y/N! I recently moved here from Tokyo! My quirk allows me to transform into a 15 meter tall person! Except I don’t resemble myself but just the body of a female! They call my quirk, Titan!”
“Show us!!” Kaminari yelled, a blush coating his cheeks as he stood up from his seat. He obviously already had a liking towards you.
You stifled a giggle, placing a hand on your mouth. “I can’t do that! I’ll break the entire school if I do it now!”
Bakugou leaned forward, intrigued by your quirk. “I can still take you down easily!”
“Oh, you’re Bakugou right?” You smiled, hands now by your side. “I can’t wait to beat you!”
“What did you say tall bitch?!”
You rolled your eyes as you looked over the class, their mouths opening with questions they wanted to ask you. Your eyes stopped on a green haired boy who looked like he was facing death himself. Turns out there was an empty seat next to him.
You walked over and slid into the chair, sticking a hand out for him. “As you know I’m Y/N Y/LN. What’s your name?”
“I-Izuku Midoriya!” he squeaked, sticking a hand out for you as he shook your hand, looking you up and down. “H-How?!”
“How what?”
“How are you here?! Captain Levi caught you and you were stuck underground doing experiments!”
“Captain Levi?” you questioned, rubbing your temple in circles. “Who is that?”
Before he could ramble on he stopped. This wasn’t you. This was someone new. Not the murderous killer, but the face of a sweet girl.
“I’m sorry you just remind me of someone who was in my dream last night.” He sighed in relief and cracked his knuckles. “Kind of gave me a spook there.”
“Oh did I? Well I apologize for that!” You laughed, playing with the tip of your pencil. “Say, what’s your quirk? I would love to get to know you too! Since ya know, we are row buddies after all!”
“My quirk? Just a strength one.” He shrugged, more interested in hearing about you. “But yours fascinates me! Able to turn into a 15 meter Titan? That’s amazing! I would love to see it in person!”
“Really? You mean that?”
He nodded excitedly. “Yes! Later today we have hero training! You can show us all then!”
Your eyes lit up. “I c-can’t wait then! I always wanted to see how small people would look when I gained control of it!”
He grinned, sending you a thumbs up. “Well I bet it’s amazing.”
“Eren thought it was amazing as well!”
His heart stopped. Eren? As in Eren Jaeger?
“E-Eren?”
“Yeah!” You pouted, letting your head rest in the palm of your hand. “He was my friend in my old school! He kinda had the same quirk as I did! I miss being able to make fun of the way his looks.”
Midoriya felt his heart beating again. Still shaken up from his dream, he knew the Y/N Y/LN stuck underground, was not the same Y/N Y/LN that was currently sitting next to him. Even after a collision of worlds, he knew he could trust you.

Dating them in secret
Denki Kaminari
Tumblr media
It originally started because neither of you were able to get dates for the school dance. Since you both got busy through the day, you decided to just sneak in each others dorms to make plans. It ended up with the both of you realizing how much fun the thrill of sneaking under everyones’ noses.
He didn’t realize how much he adored you til you both were swaying from side to side during a slow dance. He watched as you looked down at your feet, making sure not to step on him. He found himself grinning a little when you stumbled, his grip on your hip tightening as he pulled you closer, before he continued to sway.
You had felt uncomfortable being openly affectionate with him and revealing your relationship, so Denki asked if it would be okay to take you on dates without revealing everything. He was happy when you said yes and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
When you were in class, Denki wouldn’t do anything that could lead others to finding out about your secret relationship. He might lean on you or grab your hand, but it wasn’t that noteworthy since he did the same to everyone else.
Dates often happened at night when you slipped into his room to watch movies together or simple study dates since he struggled with tests. He would pull you into his arms or in his lap while you explained how you found the answer. Most of the time he would be listening, but he does find himself zoning off while playing with your fingertips.
Dates that weren’t at the dorms ended up with you going to watch the latest “Bad” movie (Like you both watched the Emoji movie and Cats just to see people question your sanity) or going out with Bakusquad. He knew that none of them would make a move or question why he clung to you with the exception of Bakugo making a snarky comment when you fall behind
If he started to get worked up about a test, you’d simply hug him and play with his hair until he relaxes. He loves when you play with it and it never fails to calm him down. He reveals that its because his parents would run their fingers through their hair when he was a kid to help him sleep.
You were both very aware of your classmates shipping you and suggesting you should go on a date with him, but neither of you reveal your secret. Sneaking under everybody's noses brought a thrill that you weren't willing to give up yet.
Eijiro Kirishima
Tumblr media
Kirishima may not be the best at keeping secrets, but you both had decided to date in private because of the drama happening with the League of Villains. He was just paranoid that they would find out about your relationship and would try to use you to get to him. So many people, including yourself, were afraid of their growing power. So you agreed to keeping the relationship private
He wasn’t a big fan of staying in on your days off, so he would often get you outside and take you on “Friend” dates. Going to the park or garden, finding some new cafes to try, and going on picnics were his favorite things to do.
Expect many random gifts from him to just appear in your room. Things like flowers, new clothes or hoodies, or video games that just “Made me think of you.” He never expects anything in return and is truly touched every time he gets something from you.
Will often play random video games with you. Since they’re all online, he gets you a nice headset and sets everything up so you can play with him. Building large structures in Minecraft to killing zombies in call of duty. Your video game dates sometimes get invaded by the Bakusquad, but they always make you happy.
He sometimes sneaks into your bedroom for late at night snuggles since holding you always calms him down. He loves when you rake your hands through his hair or when you hold his hands. His favorite part of it is when you mumble small things you love about him.
Enji Todoroki
Tumblr media
Dating in secret wouldn’t be that hard with Enji due to his extreme protectiveness and connections that keep you out of the media and spotlight. Out of everybody, he the one who has the strongest connections and abilities to keep you away.
Dates between the two of you are always at his house or at yours. He will rather pick you up or meet you at your place so you don’t have to be “In danger.” Things like cooking dinner together or going out in his garden were the normal dates. Occasionally he may let you in public with him, but it’s extremely rare for that to happen.
Getting used to him having to randomly leave in the middle of the night because someone or something fucked up. He is the number one hero now, so that means really odd hours. Sadly. crime doesn’t sleep even if you need to.
May be rough around the edges but he kind of tries this time? Yeah, he actually has feelings for you and never raised a hand to you, but he is quite controlling.
His kids don’t know you and Enji wants to keep it that way. He’s not a big fan of having you meet them because He is a bit worried that they will be upset at him for moving on from Rei. Not only that, he was afraid that they would abandon him after finding out about his second life.
May not be the most vocal about his affections, but he definitely will express his gratefulness for you with little things. Small gifts left for you, an occasional meal cooked for you, and god someone stop him from buying you clothes. He loves spoiling you.
He never really comes out about his relationship with you, but people do notice the ring that had suddenly appeared on his finger after he decided to get married to you.
Hizashi Yamada
Tumblr media
This man is the exact opposite of private. He loves to be open about everything and he would flaunt you like none other. If he could, that is.
You both had actually agreed to stay a secret for a variety of reasons, the main one being that he was not only a pro-hero, but he was famous too. Being famous comes with the fair share of crazy fans, and he didn’t want to put you in harms way. You suggested staying a secret and he agreed.
Dates are surprisingly mellow since Mic isn’t as loud as usual when he’s in private. He likes to relax and cuddle, watching a movie or working with you to make new playlists for his radio show.
Don’t expect him to cook. Seriously, He is good at many things and has quite a few talents, but cooking is not one of them. No matter how many Gordon Ramsay shows he watches, he will never be able to cook. He will still try though, even if it ends up with food that's so burnt, you aren’t that sure what it was in the first place.
When he’s working late at the station, he will text you in between songs, even dedicating a couple to you. He always ends the night by playing your favorite song to let you know that he will be heading home soon.
His favorite thing is when you play with his hair. He will be complete putty in your hands if you brush his hair while he’s working or if you braid it. Another thing that makes him relax is when you massage his shoulders. He’s actually kind of anxious at times, so baby him to help him relax.
He hardly ever sleeps. He has so much energy that he constantly is doing something. Between his 3 jobs, he always has something to do. Grading papers til 10 pm, then working on the script for the mornings show til 1am, then doing a little research about new villains. You have to drag him to bed most nights and lay on top of him to make sure he doesn't leave the second the sun begins to rise.
Izuku Midoriya
Tumblr media
Izuku doesn’t mind being in a private relationship with you in the slightest. In public, many just believe there is some mutual crushing going on, but many don’t think you’re actually dating.
Toshinori would know, but that's after you agreed to let Izuku tell him. Secrets were something Izuku didn’t want to have when it came to you, All Might, and his mother. You thought that was only fair.
His mom would ask that you keep Izukus’ bedroom door open. Even though she trusts you and Izuku, she is still a mother who has to keep her baby safe.
Your dates at the dorms were usually study dates or workout dates since they were the easiest to get away with. You did manage to sneak in his room a few times for late night cuddle sessions.
Izuku is shy when it comes to your relationship but it doesn’t stop him from doing things like leaning on you in public or holding your hand. He is a little affectionate and he always has enjoyed a little skinship with you, even before you both got together.
He pays attention to you. He has every order of yours written down so he can randomly buy you your favorite foods. He remembers the hoodie of his that you like the most. He will get tickets for the new movie you said you were interested in. He will spoil you.
Katsuki Bakugo
Tumblr media
You were surprised when Katsuki told you that he wanted to keep your relationship a secret, but it made more sense after he explained his fear of the League of Villains getting to you. He was captured by them, so why wouldn’t they go to you to get to him?
Dates actually happened quite often with Katsuki. He would often sneak into your room before curfew to eat dinner with you and would lay on top of you to cuddle after. He was quite clingy and would find himself letting his guard down with you.
Deep conversations would randomly happen as you played with his blond hair, the smell of sugar or caramel filling the room the longer the boy would stay. He would open up about his frustrations about Deku as well as his fear about the League of Villains. He hated that they targeted him and genuinely believed that he would turn on 1A. He grew insecure and afraid that he would become a villain, but you just had to reassure him that wouldn’t be the case.
He always left a hoodie for you to wear since you seemed to enjoy the smell, but no one ever dared to mention it when he was around. You did explain to most that it was just a friend thing and that you liked how warm they seemed to be.
You did go to his parents’ house with him one day and she seemed to instantly enjoy you. She was glad somebody managed to “Tame” her chaotic son. Bakugo was a blushing mess, but he was really glad deep down that you got his parents approval.
You’ve learned to put up with Katsukis glares and harsh attitude at times. You know that he didn’t mean it half of the time. You could see it. Even if his tone was the same, he had a different look in his eyes when he was with you. It could even be considered soft and loving.
Tenya Iida
Tumblr media
It was mutually agreed upon to keep your relationship a secret. Tenya openly admitted that he was going to focus mainly on his studies and being a hero, but he also encouraged you to do the same. Your feelings for each other were recognized by each other, but were not your priority. Hell, Iida said that if you were willing to be patient with him, he would take you on a proper date.
Your dates consisted of studying together and doing little tasks together. You would do things like cook dinner together or go out to get groceries. You never really had a proper date with the exception of the one time he asked you out to lunch at the new cafe that had just opened.
Your grades managed to stay extremely high due to the standards Iida kept you to, but he also understood that you needed a break. Even though affection was something he struggled with, he would have you lean on him for little breaks. He would hold your hand, kiss your head, and he managed to even let you on his lap.
If you fall asleep in his arms while studying, he will carry you to your bedroom and rest you on your bed, giving you a kiss on the head before leaving your room. He might even leave a blanket over you or leave his jacket on you.
As time goes on, even though he’s focusing on school, He does manage to find some time to give you gifts and hang out with you. Your favorite gift of them all? A promise ring that you wear around your neck. He has one too and he promises that after he becomes a hero, he will marry you.
By the time you both graduate from UA, people are surprised by how well you’ve hidden your relationship, yet are extremely happy for you both.
Shota Aizawa
Tumblr media
You had known Shota for years and were there for him since he graduated UA. He never revealed how he felt though. He had started liking you after you offered to have him move in with you. He agreed for the financial side of it, but he didn’t realize how easy the both of you slipped into a more domestic lifestyle.
For a good couple of years, neither of you really labeled your relationship. Sure, Kisses happened as did cuddles. Maybe things got heated a few times, but you didn’t think it was anything more than that.
He never directly said his feelings for you til he ended up leaving some papers at your house. You decided to bring them to UA for him and were surprised when you ran into Hizashi. As you both talked and caught up, You felt an arm wrap around you. Aizawa hummed and looked at the papers before thanking you and pecking your cheek. You just smiled at the raven haired man before Hizashi asked why his papers were at your house.
“We live together and they’re my significant other. Don’t tell anybody else though or else I will destroy your speaker.” He threatened and Hizashi just nodded, not really that phased by his friends stern tone.
Dates were always simple. Simple shopping dates, dinner together, movie nights, and calls when he was away. He had a difficult time sleeping if you weren’t there to help him, so he always ended up falling asleep on a call with you.
Gifts were another thing he loved to do. Promise rings that were connected to chains that hung around your necks, sweaters that matched for Christmas, and random flowers delivered to your job, they were all little things that managed to make your love for him grow.

5.Press Break In
Ayama Aizawa POV
The worst thing is. It's 6:47. "6:47?!" I jumped out of my bed and quickly took off my bonnet. "Oh wait. Class doesn't start until 8:25... But I'm taking the bus!"
I regret staying up late on that dang switch and not going to bed when I was told too. I don't even want to get out of bed.
I rushed towards my closest and pulled out my uniform. After that I go to the bathroom. My Dad told me he had hero work last night so he won't be here when I wake up, but he'll be at the school.
"I should have set the volume on my phone louder! But no. I told myself I wasn't going to sleep through it, but I did!" I shout at myself.
After brushing my teeth and putting my clothes on. I go back to my room and got my backpack on and rush downstairs.
I go into the kitchen. Into the pantry to get the cat's food. Once I poured their food and water in their bowls. I got out cereal and milk and ate that.
I put my dishes in the sink and went towards the door. I saw the cat were sleeping in their cat tree house. At least their asleep.
I put my shoes on and head out the door running towards the nearest bus stop instead of walking and taking my sweet time.
I get on the bus and I notice Izuku. But he seems a bit in thought. So I go in my backpack and pull out my headphones.
I zipped my backpack up put the headphones on and listen to music. I'm now lost in thought. I can't stop thinking about what melody I heard last night.
But I have no idea why. It was the same one like last time. I got off the bus I started to walk fast to the school. "Hey Deku!" I said. I walk up to him.
"Hey Ayama!" He said. "I notice you seem a bit lost in thought. I just wanted to know if you feel okay." He asked worriedly. "Oh yeah. I'm just fine. I was just thinking about song I been hearing in my head. That all." gave him a bright smile.
"You do kinda reminds me of All Might." He said. We both stop in front of the school gates.
"Huh? What do you mean Deku?" I ask. " Well you and All Might has been through some hard times, but yet you guys always have a smile on your faces." He said. I put a hand on his shoulder.
"Deku... I'm not proud of it. At all, but I don't want people to worry about me all the time." I told him. "But I know one day you'll be the best hero ever. Don't tell Bakugo I told you that." I giggled. "Like that'll even be possible." He laughed nervously.
We were in front of the security gate. And suddenly the ground shake a bit and a loud commotion getting closer and closer.
We turn around to see. Microphone and cameras all up in our face. And I got separate from Izuku because of this.
"Hey you!" A woman called out "Umm- yes?" I asked. "What's it like to have All Might as a teacher?!" A lady shove the microphone in my face. " I would appreciate if you didn't shove it in my face." I said kindly.
"Can you just answer the question?" She rolled her eyes. "No comment." I said trying to walk away, but I felt a hand grab my arm. My eyes change to a color I wasn't familiar with.
"Can you just answer one question." The woman asked. But I felt a present behind me. "Get your hand off of her now." Katsuki...
"Come on." He grabbed my hand. His hand was big and warm. We walk to class. We walk pass my Dad who just showed death in his eyes. And that has me confused.
"Why didn't you just walk away nerd?" He asked. I had my eyes closed when answering him. " I don't know. Some person touch me and held me back." I said.
"Who!?" He Shouted at me. "It's not important, beside it not like I got hurt." I tell him as well as trying to calm him down. "I Don't Give A Shit!" He shouted. As we enter the the classroom.
I just ignore him while walking inside going to the front. I had my hand covering my eyes. "DON'T IGNORE ME. HEY! DUMBASS!" He yelled.
I just sighed and turn his way. My eyes are closed not wanting to look at him. "Look I'm not harm in anyway. I'm not bleeding nor dying. It was just one hand grab my arm, I'm fine." I said.
I open my eyes only too see Bakugo eyes in shock and hear my classmates gasp. "Ayama, sweetie come here." Momo said. I walk to her desk. She open a double mirror. My eyes were black pitch black, with white pupils in the middle of them. One was in the shape of a crescent moon the other full.
I don't even know what I did. "Do you what could've cause it?" She asked while putting a hand on my shoulder.
"No. I'm just as confused." I said. "Oh hey they've changed back." Mina points out. "Oh yeah you're right." As I look at the mirror.
About 5 minutes later after that incident, my Dad came in to compliment on how we did yesterday. He said saw the video of us all during training. While he told Bakugo not to sulk over losing. Then got on Midoriya about him and his arm.
"Let's get down to business. Our first task will decide your future." He said. Now everyone was thinking it. 'Is it another Quirk test?' "You'll all need to pick a class representative." He said.
Now everyone shouting. And I'm getting a headache. And that's coming from a person who has a singing quirk. Anyways if someone is to run this class or would be Iida or Yaoyorozu.
"Silence, everyone please." That's exactly what I mean. Iida can get anyone attention real quick. "The class representative's duty is to lead other." And here he goes into his speeches.
"That not something anyone can do. You must first have the trust of every student in the classroom. Therefore, We must do this logical to fill this position is democratically. We will hold an election to choose our leader." He said
Oh well they way they acted just told me their not ready. And I know Mina would not take it well. "It's pretty obvious you want us to vote for you." They'd told him.
"Ayama who do think should be class representative?" Midoriya asked. "If I'm being honest. It's should be Iida or Yaoyorozu." I said. "Aw, thank you." She then pats my head and hugs it. "I'm just being honest." I said.
I'm too upset with the head pats. She always did that and I know her. But if my hair in braids or a certain style like bantu knots. She knows not to touch my hair. I usually don't mind if she pats my curly hair. Just as long as she or anyone else doesn't play in it.
"I mean most of us only knew each other for a few days. How do we know who we can trust?" Tsu ask. "Besides, everyone'll just vote for themselves." Kirishima said. And both have good points.
"Most people will. But that means whoever receives multiple votes must truly be the most suitable person for the job." Iida said.
He then turns towards my dad who's now in his sleeping bag. If I could bring my blanket. I would. "It's the best way, right, Sir?" He asked.
"Do what you want, just decide before my nap's over." My dad falls over clearly not caring if he gets hurt or not. And he wonders were I get my "I don't care" attitude from. Hearing stories about my mom. There's no way I get it from her.
After agreeing who we should vote. I put my vote for Yaoyorozu. And yet.... Midoriya somehow came on top and Momo is the runner up. The class was quite for a moment.
"Wow." I said breaking the silence. "Okay you Idiots, who voted for him?" Bakugo shouts. I have a feeling Uraraka and Iida did.
"What, Did you honestly think anyone would vote for you?" Sero asked him "What did you just say!" Katsuki shouts. Bakugo kept going back and forth with him.
Iida look so disappointed with himself. And I kinda feel bad. Midoriya's in front of class. I'm not paying too much attention to what going on though. Yaoyorozu is deputy. My Dad still in his sleeping bag. And- "This is a complete mess."
Classes when by pretty fast, before I knew it. It's was lunch time. I decide to sit with Yaoyorozu and Jirō.
"I'm sorry about the election, Momo." I said. "It's fine. I'm not surprised most people voted for themselves." She said. "Hey guys mind if we sit with you." Midoriya ask. Ochaoco and Tenya was behind him. "Oh hey guys. Yeah no problem." I said.
"Thanks guys." Ochaoco said. "Yeah no problem considering how many people are in here." Jirō said. "She's right. It's always so crowded in here!" Ochaoco complain.
"That's because students in the support, management, and hero courses all share the same cafeteria." Tenya explain. "Hey Deku you seem down. What's on your mind?" I asked him.
"It's just that I'm still kinda worried about the whole class rep thing, I don't think I'm qualified." He said. "You'll be fine. As long as you don't mess up, beside you have all of us to help you out." Uraraka said.
"You'll be great. That the reason I voted for you at least." Iida said. "You were one of the three?" Midoriya ask. "It's was kinda obvious to tell." Yaoyorozu said.
"Your courage and quick thinking under stress will help make you a worthy leader. And given the strength you demonstrated." Iida said.
The conversation was nice. We found out that Iida was apart of the private agency of his family. And Izuku being Deku knew all about it.
"Yeah so about that practical exam-" Midoriya had gotten cut off due to the bell ringing.
We all have confused look on our faces. 'Lunch isn't over yet so why-' "What is that!" Midoriya ask. 'Warning. Level three security breach. How?' I thought. "All students please evacuate the building orderly fashion." After that everyone was quick to run straight to the door.
I on the other hand stayed put. I feel my eyes change. I quickly go towards the window. 'How the heck did the press break in?' I could see my Dad and Uncle Mic trying to get them to calm down. I guess there waiting for the cops. I feel myself getting push into the large crowd only to get crush onto the window.
"Ayama it only the press and your-" He started off. "My eyes, I know, but what are we going to do about the students?" I ask him.
We heard Ochaoco scream. "Guys help me!" She shouted. We start to move more into the crowd to reach her. "Uraraka touch Tenya hand to make him float!" I shout. "Good idea!" She tells me. It was a bit of a struggle, but she touch him and he begins to float.
"Iida go to the front then tell them what's happening!" I tell him. "Right!" He uses his Quirk which made him crash into the wall..
"Listen up, everything is okay!" He yelled. Everyone stop moving to look at him. "It's just the media outside. There absolutely nothing to worry about." I notice he was holding on to a blue pipe while shaking. 'I guess her effect wore off on him.'
"Everything is Fine! We're UA students. We need to remain calm and prove that we're the best of the best." At his speeches comes in handy.
"Look the police are here!" One student pointed out. "Thank goodness." Another studentsaid. Yes thank God. About few minutes later we all went back to class.
"It's time class rep let's being." Yaoyorozu said. Izuku was stuttering almost the whole time. " Um. Okay, so we need to figure out who the other class officers will be." He started off, but then said that Iida should be the one leading our class.
He then goes onto say what he saw during the panic state everyone was in. "But I didn't come up with the plan all by myself. I had Ayama help me." He said.
"Yeah but Iida. We all know you and Yaoyorozu would be the best options." I told him. Still covering my eyes. "Well Ayama your actually one of the best options out of the three." Ojiro said. "Well I-"
After a solid minute of convincing. He took Midoriya place. School has finally ended. I quickly pack my stuff up and walk towards Bakugou.
"Guess who." I told him while covering his eyes. "Nerd." He said. "Nope." I said. He took my hands down off of his eyes. "Is it a dumbass then?" He asked chuckling. "No!" I said.
"Sorry about yesterday." I told him. "Tch. It's whatever." We had a conversation(with his shouting of course.) just hanging in the classroom. I see Momo waving me over to give her a hug. I told her I'd see her tomorrow.
"Anyways, I better get going." I said. "What your going walk away from me again and pass out?" He shouted. "No no no I just need to get home to the cats." I said. "It's a joke you dork." He said. "O-Oh." He just start to snicker.
"It's not that funny." I said. " Yeah whatever, later nerd." He said walking out of the classroom. "Later." I said. I just have to cover my eyes. "Okay." I whispered. I gather my things and went towards my dad's office.
"Oh you're here early." My Dad said. "Yeah, but I have a question. Two actually." I said. "Well?" He said. "How did the press break in?" I asked.
"We're guessing a person with a Quirk cause it, but we don't know if it a show of power or a new villain." My Dad explain. "Okay now for the second part." I said. I open my eyes.
"My eyes." I said. My Dad look shocked, but not in a way he showed it. "When did this happen?" He sighed. "This morning. I don't know someone grab by the arm and then I felt my eyes change. Oh and the students know about it." I told him.
"You'll be fine by tomorrow. Nothing will change. It's just something you got from your mother side." He said getting his keys. "I'm hoping you weren't in a bad mood this morning." He said.
"No, more like Bakugo was upset." I chuckled. Car ride was quite, because I like do homework in the car. My Dad always scolds me for it. But we didn't have any this day. So I decided to just to text everyone to see what they were up to.
Once we got home I took my shoes off and was greeted by Leo and Nubia. I pet their heads the walk upstairs. I went up to the bathroom, only to smell....
Once I threw that out and refilled the litter box. I took a quick shower and put PJs on. My eyes were still black and white. And I put my bonnet on.
Night came by fast. And I was done with all of my homework that was given to me. I went downstairs for dinner. But during dinner I got lost in thought again.
I was thinking about my mother's siblings. What were they like. Other than Aunt Miyoko. Would they love me even though I'm good? Considering four of them are bad.
"Try not to think too much. You'll end up with a bad headache." My dad said as filling the cat blows with water and cat food.
"Huh? How did you-" "A father knows their daughters. Not just mothers" He said. "Fine. It's just why is this happening now, and not when I got my other two Quirks." I ask him.
"It's normal, because the same thing happened to your mother." He said then went back to eating. I was done so I just put my dish in the sink. "Goodnight." I said. "Night, Lyric." The cats followed me upstairs.
I just sat on my bed. The cats had pet beds, but wanted to sleep with me for the night. I layed down. "Why do I have this feeling that these eyes might help me tomorrow or could cause chaos."

::in which Bakugou and Kirishima are closer than ever, quite literally and figuratively. Bakugou messes up, plans are definitely NOT cancelled, and there is a maybe date happening::
P.S. IM SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO POST. It was a loooong week. I’ve gotten a promotion though, so that was cool! Anywho, I’ll try and be quicker with the updates since I have a lot of my one-shots already half finished:)
P.P.S. I wrote out the whole chapter and apparently it’s exceeded a word count or something so I had to split it into two chapters. I just have to give it a quick edit and I’ll have it up today, hopefully in the next couple hours.
+++++++++++++
Aizawa kept Bakugou for one more night just for observation. He was allowed back to class Tuesday morning.
Kirishima waited outside of his dorm for Bakugou to finish getting ready. He played a game on his phone and leaned against the wall opposite of Bakugou’s door.
He’d only been waiting a few minutes before the door opened and a fully-uniformed Bakugou Katsuki stepped out. He looked well rested and much more like himself than Kirishima had seen him in days. He still had his usual grumpy look, but it put a smile on Kirishima’s face to see it. He’d missed Bakugou so much that having him back felt like a hole had been filled in his chest.
Kirishima didn’t think about what he did next until Bakugou pulled away. The redhead looked down at their hands, dawning on him that he’d just tried to hold Bakugou’s hand. The movement felt so natural, almost like an instinct.
“Oh!” he said, surprised by himself. “I’m sorry, man. That was weird of me. I didn’t even think about it—”
“It’s fine, Shitty Hair,” Bakugou interrupted him. “Here.”
Kirishima watched as Bakugou laced their arms together at their elbows. He had a weird scowl on his face, but he didn’t say anything about it and opted to tug Kirishima along to get him moving. Together, arm in arm, they descended the hall until they reached the elevator.
They didn’t say a word the whole ride down. Kirishima was too lost in his racing thoughts to come up with the right thing to say.
Was Bakugou touch starved? He wasn’t ever the type of guy to initiate any sort of touching. Though, he hadn’t been able to get near anyone in days. On average, at least a few times a day Kirishima would lean on him or put a hand on his shoulder or sometimes even throw him into a surprise hug the blond didn’t see coming. Bakugou had adapted to Kirishima’s fondness. This—having Bakugou as the initiator—was so foreign, Kirishima couldn’t wrap his head around it.
They didn’t let go of each other until they reached the kitchen. Kirishima tossed Bakugou ingredients and utensils as the explosive boy whipped up some egg drop ramen for the two of them.
He usually made more food to include the Bakusquad, but he never bothered with breakfast. The other three were never up early enough.
As it turned out, Kaminari was right: Kirishima had missed Bakugou’s cooking. He wasn’t sure where the blond learned to cook so well, but Kirishima would have given his pal a five star review on Yelp if he could have.
“What did I miss in class?” Bakugou asked after they’d sat down. He was twirling his chopsticks around in his bowl to pick up some noodles.
“Don’t know,” Kirishima answered through a mouthful. He swallowed before continuing. “I didn’t really go to class yesterday.”
Bakugou frowned. He glared at his ramen like he’d just witnessed it murder his cat. “Let’s ask Ponytail for her notes. I’m not asking shitty Deku. His notebook is a fucking mess.”
“Good idea,” Kirishima agreed. “Hey, did you wanna do some extra training after class? The gym is free today. We could work on our special moves like last time.”
Bakugou seemed to be thinking it over. After a moment of considering, he set his chopsticks down. “What if we went to the movies?”
Kirishima stared at him. He’d said it in such a soft voice, Kirishima knew he was being serious. “The movies? Over training? That doesn’t sound like you.”
He glared in return. “Do you want to or not, Shitty Hair?”
He laughed. “Yeah, totally! Was there a movie you had in mind?”
Bakugou picked his chopsticks back up and was using the utensils to play with his food. Kirishima couldn’t help thinking he looked shy. His cheeks were the slightest hint of pink. “There’s that action movie… I know you like those.”
Kirishima perked up at that. “Really? You’re talking about the one where those two guys have to duel for the dojo after their master is killed, right?”
“The only cheesy-as-hell action movie in the theaters right now, yes.”
“Dude, I’ve wanted to watch that forever! It didn’t do great in the box office, but I think it looks great! You really want to sit through that for me? That doesn’t seem like your kind of movie.”
He finally stood to take his bowl to the sink. “I just want to get out. I’ve spent the last four days staring at white walls.” He nodded his head to Kirishima’s empty bowl, who got the message and passed it over.
“I’m down for the movie, one-hundred percent! And, hey—maybe this weekend we can go hiking? That should help get you out of your own head.”
He hummed in response. “There was that new trail we could try.”
“Oh! Yeah, I remember that. We wanted to go last time, but it was getting too dark so we didn’t get the chance. How’s your schedule look? I’m free all weekend!”
He finished up washing their dishes and deposited them onto the drying rack. “Let’s go Saturday. My shitty aunt is in town this weekend, so I can avoid her at least then. I have some stupid family dinner my parents are making me go to on Sunday if… uh, if you wanna go.”
Kirishima cocked his head. “To your family dinner? You want me to go? Would I be intruding?”
Bakugou leaned against the counter and folded his arms. “No. If you’re there I might actually act ‘civil’ is how my old hag put it. You can sleep over too, if you want.”
Kirishima’s eyes sparkled. A sleepover? At Bakugou’s house?! He’d been over a few times, and he loved being able to spend the extra time with his hot-headed friend. But a sleepover? His heart nearly leapt out of his chest.
“Hell yeah! You usually head home Friday nights, right? What time should I be around Saturday to head on the hike?”
“Just come home with me Friday. Then we can leave early.”
Holy. Shit.
Two whole nights with Bakugou. He felt like his brain was about to short circuit.
His moms wouldn’t like him not visiting over the weekend, but they would understand. He talked pretty highly of Bakugou to his parents, so they would know how much this meant to him.
He pumped his fists together. “Alright! A guys’ weekend! This is gonna be great, man! We can watch movies and play video games, and I’m gonna get you to stay up past eight-thirty!”
Bakugou snorted. “Then I’ll make sure to wake you up by six in the morning.”
“No!” Kirishima gasped. “That’s just cruel, man.”
Bakugou smirked and grabbed his book bag, then headed for the door. Kirishima jumped up to follow.
Class was extra boring today, and Kirishima couldn’t pay attention to a word of his lessons. The day dragged on, probably because he had the movies with Bakugou to look forward to.
Finally, the bell rang for lunch. He and the squad moved out while Bakugou stayed back to collect the homework assignments he missed yesterday. He’d catch up with them after.
They were all seated at their usual table, Ashido chatting everyone’s ears off. Kirishima zoned out staring out the window at the lawn when the pink-haired girl brought him back down to earth.
“Kiri? Babe. Earth to Kirishima.”
He smiled sheepishly. “Sorry. My head is all over the place today.”
He hadn’t even realized Bakugou sat down beside him. The blond was giving him a weird look as he popped open his bento box.
“So!” Kaminari exclaimed, catching everyone’s attention. “I had this idea—”
“Oh shit,” Bakugou muttered loud enough for everyone to hear.
Kaminari glared at him while everyone else laughed. “Anyway. Wouldn’t it be such a good idea if we challenged Bakugou and Sato to a cook off? Our class chef versus our class baker. It'd be epic!”
“I love it!” Ashido announced.
Sero looked into the distance dreamily. “Think about all the leftover food.”
“I don’t bake,” Bakugou stated. “I don’t do sweets. And Sugar Freak is a shit cook. Wouldn’t be much of a challenge.”
“Well, we can have you both whip up something as a main dish and then a dessert to follow,” Ashido suggested. “We could vote whose meal was better.”
Bakugou didn’t look impressed. He stuffed a chunk of beef into his mouth and ignored the rest of the conversation.
“What if we did it tonight? Everyone’s free, right?”
Kirishima whipped his head up from his meal to face Kaminari. “Not tonight, man. We’ve got homework to catch up on, and Bakugou and I were going to catch a movie.”
Everyone’s eyebrows scrunched. They stared between the two boys like this was weird behavior of them.
“The movies?” Ashido asked, her expression shifting to something more mischievous. “Like, just the two of you? Alone?”
“You annoying shitsticks aren’t coming, so don’t even ask,” Bakugou said in his grumpy voice.
Kaminari raised a devilish eyebrow. “So… is this like… a date?”
Kirishima felt his ears grow hot. “No! No, it’s not like that! We’re just two bros going to the movies! Right, Katsuki?”
He looked over to the blond, who had a death grip on his chopsticks. His face read pure rage, but there was a blush crawling up his neck and cheeks. It seemed to worsen at the use of his given name. The chopsticks snapped in his grip.
“KATSUKI?!” Ashido practically screamed. “He lets you call him by his given name?”
The other two boys were dying at this point. They clutched their stomachs as they busted out laughing, tears sparkling in their eyes. Sero slapped a hand on the table. “Oh my god! I can’t breathe!”
Bakugou slammed his own fists against the table and stood. “FUCK YOU GUYS, WE’RE OUT OF HERE! COME ON, SHITTY HAIR! LET’S GO.”
Kirishima stood on wobbly legs, his meal forgotten as his mind reeled. He chased after Bakugou, a million questions racing through his brain he couldn’t seem to vocalize. Was this a date? If it wasn’t, wouldn’t Bakugou have corrected them? If it was, why’d he get so defensive?
Bakugou turned around and grabbed Kirishima by the elbow to speed him up. They must have been too loud, because half the cafeteria’s eyes were watching them as they left.
They made it back to the classroom, and Bakugou’s grip hadn't let up. He finally let go when he moved to his desk and sat down heavily. He crossed his arms and turned his face away from Kirishima.
“Uh,” Kirishima tried to form words, but he wasn’t sure what to say. “Should we talk about this?”
“No,” he answered quickly.
“Well, that seemed to really bother you back there. If you were thinking—”
“I don’t want to talk about it, Eijirou.”
Kirishima could see the angry blush on his face when he glanced back at the redhead. Kirishima settled into the desk beside his. “Alright. You still want to go though, don’t you?”
He huffed. “Yeah, we’re still fucking going.”
His lips spread into a smile. “Glad to hear it! I can’t wait.”
The two broke out their homework after that, attempting to get caught up before the rest of the class slowly trickled back in. To Kirishima’s surprise, it was Bakugou who was having trouble focusing.
Class started up again, and Kirishima had to migrate back to his own desk. A worksheet was passed out by Midnight, and they were told to fill out what they could. Kirishima was only a few questions in when he glanced Bakugou’s way out of habit.
Midoriya was leaning forward, whispering something to Bakugou, who looked his usual amount of annoyed. It was when the green-haired boy reached out to tap Bakugou’s shoulder that chaos ensued.
Kirishima shot from his desk and across the room before most students even noticed anything was wrong. Everything happened so fast, even Kirishima’s brain had to play catch up.
Bakugou had snapped. In an instant, he’d had Midoriya pinned to the floor, slashing at his face with the claws that weren’t there. Midoriya was obviously caught off guard, but he was still fast enough to hold his arms up to shield his face from Bakugou’s attacks.
Kirishima tackled Bakugou off of his rival, using his hardening to pin him down. Bakugou was uncharacteristically hissing like some wild animal. Sero and Tokoyami were out of their seats now too, ready to help if they could.
“Katsuki!” Kirishima yelled, trying to snap the blond back to reality. “Katsuki, stop! It’s me! It’s Eijirou!”
Midnight stood above the boys, her hand resting on her sleeve and ready to tear it to put Bakugou to sleep with her quirk. Kirishima quickly shook his head at her. “Don’t! That won’t help.”
Bakugou’s movements became sluggish and he was blinking hard, quicly coming back to his senses. Kirishima watched as realization dawned in his eyes. He looked between Kirishima on top of him to Midoriya on the ground a few feet away. “Shit,” he cursed.
“Kacchan, I’m sorry!” Midoriya apologized. “I didn’t know the quirk hadn’t worn off yet. I shouldn’t have touched you. Kacchan, I’m so sorry!”
“Don’t fucking apologize to me, damn nerd!” he shouted in return. He growled in frustration. “I thought this shit was over.”
“It’s alright, man,” Kirishima sighed, relieved to have Bakugou back. He slid off of the blond and sat on the floor, rubbing the back of his neck. “Midoriya, you okay?”
“I-I’m fine!”
“Ahem,” Midnight cleared her throat. She had her hands on her hips and an unimpressed look on her face. “Could someone tell me what’s going on?”
“After effects,” Todoroki was the one to explain to Kirishima’s surprise. “It seems the quirk hasn’t quite worn off.”
“I’m fine now,” Bakugou grumbled. “It’s gone.”
“I highly doubt—”
“It was a fluke!”
“Guys!” Kirishima raised his voice to get them to stop. Bakugou glared at him for his interruption. Kirishima ignored the look and turned back to the other student still on the floor. “Midoriya, why don’t you swap seats with me for today?”
Midoriya nodded, finally pulling himself off the ground. “Good idea.”
Bakugou caught Kirishima’s wrist before he could stand as well. “I don’t need a damn babysitter.”
“I’m not babysitting you,” the redhead fired back. “My quirk is best suited to stop you if it happens again, which I doubt it will. Just a precaution, man.”
Midnight was tapping her foot, arms folded as she stared the two down. “Are you boys sure this is such a good idea?”
“Yes,” they said in unison. They looked at each other, and Bakugou bowed his head to allow Kirishima to finish. “He’ll be fine. It won’t happen again, and I’ll be there to stop him before it could happen again.”
She clicked her tongue. “Alright. I’ll allow it. Don’t make me regret it. And there had better not be any more interruptions.”
Everyone migrated back to their seats and the light chatter died off. Kirishima and Midoriya collected their things and traded seats. Once he was seated, Kirishima noticed a folded up piece of paper on the corner of the desk.
He opened it as quietly as he could, but Midnight seemed pretty preoccupied by the romance novel her eyes were glued to. It was definitely Bakugou’s handwriting, all caps and angry penmanship.
THANK YOU EIJIRO. YOU’ RE A GOOD FRIEND
Kirishima smiled. Bakugou really had grown so much in his time since coming to UA. Kirishima was so proud to be the explosive boy’s friend.
It’s cool ! Don’t sweat it man . Still wanna see that movie tonight ??
He tossed the note over Bakugou’s shoulder, who jumped a little like he was surprised to see it return. Kirishima could hear his pencil scrawling out a reply.
He passed it back, his eyes on Midnight to avoid being caught passing notes.
STILL THINK IT’S A GOOD IDEA?
Totally !! I wanna spend time with you dude
He chewed on his lip. Maybe that was a little too forward. He ended up erasing that bit and starting over.
Yeh man I think it’d be good for you to get out . Being cooped up for days isn’t good for ya
Bakugou held onto the note for a few minutes, maybe contemplating what to say. Kirishima tried to focus on his assignment, but it proved impossible and he ended up circling random answers.
Bakugou twisted his arm behind his back and held the folded note between two fingers. Kirishima plucked it from his grasp and unfurled it again.
COME TO MY ROOM AFTER YOU’RE READY TO GO. WE’RE GONNA GET DINNER FIRST SHITTY HAIR.
Kirishima giggled, and a few heads turned his way. He was too excited to care about the prying eyes or the blush that rose to his cheeks.
He couldn’t help but think about how date-like this seemed. He didn’t want to get his hopes up, but… well.
He couldn’t help it.

Demon (Boku No Hero) - Chapter 18
Tumblr media
Warning: Swearing
“Now that everyone’s decided on their hero names, we’ll go back to talking about the internships. They will last of a week. As for where you’ll have them, those who had offers from pros will be given your own lists, so you can choose from these yourself.” Aizawa-sensei says. “I’m so curious to see who picked me.” I think very curious. “Think carefully before you choose.” Aizawa-sensei finishes. “Yes, sir!” We all screamed, then some of us got our lists. “Let’s see.” I say looking through the names on the list. “Turn in your choices before the weekend.” That was the last thing I heard from Aizawa-sensei before he and Midnight left the classroom and I turn my attention back to my list. “Oh. Shoto.” I say, making the two hair color boy look at me. “Yes?” He asks. “Your dad made an offer to me.” I say serious. “I see. Will you accept it?” He asks. “Of course not!” I say laughing, and I see a little smile on Shoto face. “Aka-chan do you already know what offer you will accept?” Izuku asks me. “Not yet, I still have to see half of the names on the list.” I say sighing making him smile at me then go back to his list of agencies.
“No way!!” I froze reading my list. “Oh my god...” I whisper. “Oi, demon! What the hell is happening to you?” Katsuki asks me confused. “I have an offer...” I say still in shock. “No shit.” Katsuki says. “I HAVE A OFFER FROM HAWKS!” I scream getting up. “What?” Some of my classmates scream. “Lucky girl Aka-chan!” Mina screams. “Oh my god!” I scream happy. “So what? He’s just a guy with wings.” Katsuki says angry. “Jealous I got an offer from him, Katsuki?” I say teasing him. “Like I care!” He says angry. “I’m not jealous because of the offer...” Katsuki thinks. Laughing, I choose to intern with him, so I mark him on the list.
“So have you decided what offer you will choose?” I ask Katsuki. “Of course! I’m going to choose Best Jeanist, the number 4 hero!” He says smirking. “Really? So I got the number 3 pro hero and you 4?” I say smirking, knowing he will be angry. “SHUT UP!” He screams. “Knew it.” I think laughing. “You better text me while we are in the internship.” I say to him serious. “Will see.” He says. “Jerk.” I say smiling. “Dumb.” He says back smirking. “How’s your Mom and Dad?” I ask him. “The old hags are fine. Mom is pissing me off, always asking me about when you come to the house again.” he responds. “Really? I have to go visit her soon then.” I say not noticing the blush on Katsuki face then we stay in a comfortable silence, both on our own thoughts and I wear Ochaco and others talking to Izuku behind us then I look at Katsuki who was trembling in anger. “Shut up...” Katsuki whispers. “Katsuki?” I whisper to him confused.
The end of school approached quickly, Izuku and I were ready to leave, since today I came with him and Katsuki had stuff to do I will walk home with him. “You ready to go Izuku?” I ask him. “Yes.” He responds then we heard a voice. “Aka-chan, Deku-kun, let’s go home together.” Ochaco says to us. “Okay.” Izuku and I say then she turns around. “Lida-kun, you too...Huh?” She says, and then we all see his empty seat. “Thank god.” I think sighing in relief. “He probably decided on where he wants to do his internship and went to turn it into the staff room.” Izuku says opening the classroom door with me behind him. “I am here! In a bizarre position!” Suddenly Dad in his All Might for appears in front of us. “HAAAAA!” Izuku and I scream scared. “What the hell?!” I scream after my scream. “Wh-What’s the matter? Why are you in such a hurry?” Izuku asks confused. “Come with me for a moment.” Dad says to him. “Do I have to go?” I whisper and Dad shakes his head and I nod understanding. “Well, since that, Ochaco do you mind coming with me, so I can deliver my internship offer to Aizawa-sensei while we wait for Izuku?” I ask the brown girl behind me. “Sure! I take the opportunity and also deliver it.” Ochaco says smiling at me. “We’ll wait for you in the entrance.” I say to Izuku who smiles at us, and we leave to the staff room.
“Hi Aizawa-sensei!” Ochaco says entering the staff room with me beside her. “Surprised not seeing you sleeping already Aizawa-sensei.” I say teasing him making Ochaco giggle. “Uraraka. Aka....” Aizawa-sensei says tired. “Were here to give you the internships.” I say giving him my list, Ochaco also giving hers. “Thank you. You decided going with Hawks?” Aizawa-sensei asks me. “Yes!” I respond. “We are doomed then.” He says making me pout and Ochaco laugh. “Aizawa-sensei!” I complain. “Is this all?” He asks. “Ya, ya, we’re leaving. See you tomorrow Aizawa-sensei.” I say already leaving. “Bye sensei!” Ochaco says, and we start going to the school entrance. “So! I see that you and Katsuki are getting closer. Something to say, Aka-chan?” Ochaco says getting near my face smirking and wiggling her eyebrows. “We’re just friends!” I say, blushing a little. “Of course, of course!” Ochaco says giggle evilly. “What about you and Deku-kun?” I ask her, imitating her, now smiling evilly. “There’s nothing about us!” She says now blushing. “Be careful, you have competition!” I say teasing her, thinking of Shoto. “What? Competition? Who?” Ochaco asks and I just laugh. “Aka-chan! Who?!” She asks and I just keep laughing. “Aka-chan!” She says desperate.
“What? You got an offer? That’s great, Deku-kun!” Ochaco asks Izuku when we are all together again. “Y-Yeah.” Izuku says. “All Might offer it?” I ask confused. “No, he just informed me.” He answers. “I’ll ask Dad later.” I think then I see Izuku opening Lida locker. “Did Lida-kun go home before us?” Ochaco asks him and I leave them be, not wanting to know or think about Lida right now. “Let’s go!” I say to them. “Yes!” They say getting to me, and we start walking home with Stain on my mind.
A day after the sports festival, exactly after Dad told me about Stain being my real father, I was watching the news when they talked about what happen about Lida brother. “Is Ingenium beyond recovery?” I heard the journalist ask making me more nervous, more sad, more angry. My biological father is someone who killed seventeen heroes and hurt twenty-three beyond recovery, one being the brother of my classmate. “What am I going to do now?” I think.
Dad arrived at home a few hours later, and I ask him about Izuku internship. “ Young Midoriya is going to intern with Gran Torino, he was my school home teacher in U.A. for a year.” Dad informs me. “So, that’s good, right?” I ask him, confused by his nervous face. “I don’t know.” He says making me scared. “Izuku is going to die!” I think.
Everyone was in the train station listening to Aizawa-sensei. “You all have your costumes, right? Remember, you aren’t allowed to wear them in public. Don’t drop them or anything.” Aizawa-sensei says. “Yessir!” We hear a very excited Mina. “I wish I had her energy.” I say to Katsuki that was next to me. “Tch.” He only says. “Speak clearly! It’s yes, sir, Ashido.” Aizawa-sensei says making me giggle at Mina depressed face. “Make sure you mind your manners with the heroes at your internships!” Aizawa-sensei continues. “Heard that, Katsuki? You have to behave.” I say teasing him making Kirishima laugh next to us. “WHAT DID YOU SAY?!” Katsuki screams angry like usual. “Bakugo, shut up.” Aizawa-sensei says making me laugh. “You too, Aka.” He says and I quickly stop laughing. “Off with you, now.” Aizawa-sensei finishes. “Yes, sir.” We all say.
“Well, good luck on your internships, Ochaco, Izuku.” I say to the two. “You too Aka-chan.” Ochaco says. “Call me if you need anything.” I say to Izuku who smiles at me. “Thank you Aka-chan, good luck with Hawks.” He says. “Bye guys!” I wave bye seeing them going after Lida. “I have a bad feeling.” I think looking at Lida back. “Oi.” A voice behind me says. “Katsuki.” I say. “Just...text me if you need anything or what ever.” Katsuki says not looking at me and his hands on his pockets. “I will, you do the same.” I say smiling. “Tch.” He says. “Tokoyami, you’re going to Kyushu. That’s the opposite direction.” I hear someone say, recognizing it was the same destination as me. “I have to go. Good luck with Best Jeanist. Bye.” I say kissing his cheek and leave quickly not hearing him whispering bye.
“Oi! Tokoyami you’re going to Kyushu too?” I ask, approaching my bird classmate. “Yes. You too?” He asks. “Yup. We get to intern together. It’s going to be cool.” I say smiling at him who nods. “Better you than Mineta.” He says making me laugh, and we enter the train.
Tokoyami and I stood in front of a huge window building. “This looks very expensive.” I say and Tokoyami nods in agreement, and he starts walking making me follow him. “Let’s go Akuma. You can do it.” I think. “Hello, I assume you’re here for the internship.” A nice lady says the moment we enter the building. “Hi, yes, were here to see Hawks for the internship.” I say to the nice lady. “He’s waiting on the last floor, you can take that elevator.” She says to us. “Thank you.” I say and Tokoyami nods at the woman and we both enter the elevator. “Are you nervous?” I ask Tokoyami. “Yes.” He simply says his arms crossed. “Me too.” I say, and the elevator stops, it’s doors opening to a corridor with some doors on it and secretaries outside the doors, and we start walking. “Hawks is waiting for you inside that door.” One secretary says, and we thank him and I knock on Hawks door. “Come in.” I shiver hearing his voice, so Tokoyami and I enter Hawks office. “Well if isn’t the two third place winners!” Hawks saying leaning in front of his desk his red wings open. “Oh my god, Pro Hero Hawks is in front of me!” I think my mouth open in shock.
“Let me see, you’re Fumikage Tokoyami and you Akuma Aka. Tell me why is your name a demon? You know what, never mind. Let’s go, we have crime to catch!” Hawks says with energy passing by us almost hitting us with his wings while Tokoyami and I just look at him confused. “Ha? Wait? What?” I say confused. “We need to get in our hero costumes first.” Tokoyami says. “Then go do that!” Hawks says, and we quickly find a place to change separately. “We’re ready.” I say, the two of us standing behind Hawks. “Good! Let’s get....” Hawks says turning around only to stopped frozen looking at me. “Hawks?” I ask him. “Damn. You’re going to be a good distraction for villains. Let’s go then.” Hawks says smirking. “I don’t think Bakugo is going to like that.” Tokoyami says passing by me following Hawks. “Bakugo? What? What are you talking about?!” I ask him only to be ignored.
“I see. You were the ones who attacked U.A., and you want to add me to your numbers.” Stain says to Shigaraki. “Yeah. Come on, you’ve got so much more experience as a villain, sir.” Shigaraki says. “What are you after?” Stain asks him. “For now, I just want to kill All Might. I want to break everything I don’t like. Damn kids like this, too.... Everything...” Shigaraki responds showing a picture of Izuku. “I was foolish to be interested. You’re the type of person I hate the most. You want me to go along with your childish tantrum?” Stain says taking his swords to attack. “Master, is it all right to let this continue?” Kurogiri asks to the TV on the room. “Don’t you want to know about your daughter, Stain?” The voice on the TV says shocking everyone. “I don’t have a daughter.” Stain says smirking. “Are you so sure about it?” The TV says making Stain frown. “If you join, I can tell you who she is.” The TV says.

It came in 3 unassuming moments in his life. If asked, Pro hero Ground Zero will deny the possibility of a guardian angel until his dying breath, but the 3 letters he so carefully stored away in a shoebox inside his cabinet beg to differ.
The first letter he received was way back in middle school. It came the morning their homeroom teacher was due to discuss their selection for high school choices. Katsuki woke up as usual, had breakfast with his dad and his usual screaming match with his mom. After his bath, he went upstairs to prepare for the day. There, sitting unassuming in his desk, was a letter addressed to him. A girl did give him a letter yesterday. Probably another confession letter, he thought smugly, but then he remembered that he exploded that thing yesterday, causing the girl to cry and run away from him. Curiosity now piqued, he opens the letter and on it were written the words "Don't be an ass. Don't let them tell him that he can't make it."
"The fuck!?" was Katsuki's first thought, but he was quickly taken out of it when his mom yelled for him to hurry up, otherwise he will be late. Tossing the letter inside his drawer, he quickly gets himself ready for school. "That shit can wait" he mutters to himself.
In school and to no one's surprise, Izuku raises his hand and says he plans on applying to UA as well. Immediately, his classmates start snickering and makes fun of the "quirkless wonder." Katsuki used to bully Izuku in the past, and still does on occasion, but him taunting Izuku has since lost it's appeal. He doesn't start them anymore, but when prompted, he always gives out a little insult here and there.
Izuku stammers and nearly shakes, but he doesn't back down even when his homeroom teacher tells him to select a more "realistic" school of choice. It was then that Katsuki remembered the mysterious letter he received that morning. "Don't be an ass" the words kept repeating itself in his head.
-- "atsuki, what do you think!?" One of his classmates bumps his shoulder, likely trying to get him to make fun of Izuku. Izuku, who was crying silently but hasn't made a move to concede his dream of going to U.A. Izuku, who used to be his childhood bestfriend. Izuku, who was since diagnosed quirkless and has since been the subject of ridicule at his school.
In a strange mix of pity and reluctant awe, Katsuki opened his mouth and said "Tsk, leave the loser alone. If he wants to get killed that badly, then let him apply for U.A. As if he'll get in anyway." Izuku looks at him slackjawed, but as an impromptu leader within the classroom, all of his classmates decide to drop the subject.
After school, Katsuki goes straight home and takes a nap. When dinner time came, his mom casually mentions that she and her friend, Midoriya Inko will meet tomorrow night for some spa date. Katsuki just dismisses his mom's rant, but then Mitsuki casually says " Oi brat, Izu-chan called too, says he wants to say thank you. I didn't wake you up cause I know you'll be pissy. The hell did you do?"
"I didn't do shit, old hag! He said thank you to me, why are you assuming I did something wrong!?"
"Because you're you" is his mom's retort. After dinner, Katsuki locks himself in his room and thought back on Izuku's phone call, getting a weird sense of accomplishment all the while.
The second letter came during his 2nd year as a high school student. Katsuki and Izuku both got into U.A. It was a surprise to everyone when Izuku somehow passed the entrance exam. Still quirkless, Izuku did poorly on the physical part of the exam, but aced the written part, barely scraping enough points to get into the hero support courses. Katsuki and Izuku have since developed a tentative sort of understanding regarding their "friendship." If asked, yes they knew each other, but other than that, they never sought each other out. It was a weird thing, being apathetic to the existance of your once childhood bestfriend, but Katsuki and Izuku make it work. Even though Katsuki hears Izuku's name in passing, he never seeks out the nerd.
At U.A., Izuku's penchant for anything hero-related was considered endearing and not a total nerd-alert, so much so that Izuku has grown comfortable in his own skin. Before long, he started having friends of his own. Izuku has long since accepted the fact that he has no quirk, but still wants to do work in the pro hero circuit, so he decided to enroll in the hero support program at U.A.
During their second year, Katsuki's homeroom teacher mentioned that in preparation for their future pro hero careers, they need to get acquinted with other works related to their chosen field, which means that tomorrow, they will be working with the hero support students to work on possible support items they can use.
Katsuki trudges to his room at Heights Alliance and decides to do his homework before hitting the gym. There, stuck between his math and hero history notebooks, was a letter with his name on it. Immediately remembering the note he got in middle school, Katsuki hurriedly opens the letter and reads it. It was a lot longer than the first, with notes on always being careful and not being complacent about his own goals. What caught his attention though, was the footnote. Written in red ink were the words "it's okay to be confused at times. You're still young, so you got time to figure it out."
Katsuki hurriedly calls his homeroom teacher and asks permission to leave the dorm and go home for the weekend. Aizawa doesn't see any harm in it, and quickly agrees (if only to get Katsuki off the phone).
Morning comes and Katsuki is bored out of his skull. When Aizawa-sensei faced the class and started introducing the support course students, Katsuki was casually listening but felt himself bummed when Izuku wasn't with the class. Perhaps he was doing this shit with class 2-B, Katsuki wasn't sure. "Well, I can just make fun of Deku's scrawny little ass next time", Katsuki thinks. Aizawa then starts assigning their class with their support course partners, when a mop of hair pops inside their classroom and asks if this is the 2-A class. Katsuki looks up just in time to see Aizawa use his capture weapon to shush the mumbling support course student who was spouting excuses as to why he was late. Aizawa then releases his capture weapon and loudly exclaims "and just for that, you will be assigned to my problem child. Row 4 aisle 3, you'll be working with Bakugou Katsuki."
This is it, Katsuki thought to himself. He's screwed. As Aizawa lowers his capture weapon, Katsuki is immediately assaulted by Izuku's blushing face, likely embarrased from being called out by a pro hero for his clumsiness. What he was not prepared for, was the sight of his childhood friend. No longer a scrawny kid, Izuku has hit a growth spurt and has since learned to do basic toning exercises by the looks of it. Somehow, he's also developed a sense of style cause his hair is no longer an unruly mess of green hair, but it was shaved a bit at the edges and is parted, accentuating his dimples and the freckles on his cheeks.
Izuku hesitantly walks up to him and gives him a tentative smile. "H..hi Kacchan" Izuku stammers. Katsuki was not prepared for Izuku's smile. Not wanting to show his internal freakout, Katsuki says "you got tall, but I'm still taller, nerd" and then Izuku full on laughs at him. It was then that Katsuki realized that Izuku's laugh maybe has a nice ring to it. It was literal years since he heard that laugh, and he was not assaulted with good childhood memories. Nope, not at all.
The thing was, Katsuki has since come to terms with his sexuality. Sure, he dated men and women before, but he somehow leaned more on the masculine side when choosing his dates, and he is starting to realize that his once scrawny childhood bestfriend's smile makes him feel prickly but in a good kind of way.
Katsuki was brought out of his musings when Aizawa began to drone off on what they should do for the next hour of class before zipping himself up in his sleeping bag. Izuku then picks up Aizawa's queue and starts asking Katsuki questions about his quirk. It was then that Katsuki started to notice the little things, like how Izuku's drawings and note taking have gotten more meticulous over time. How his line of questioning about the intricacies of his quirk were more profound. No longer was Izuku always rambling about how cool and powerful his quirk is, he's now able to spout information on how he thinks Katsuki's present hero costume can be altered, so that he can get rid of his bulky gauntlets while still maintaining the same level of firepower he always had. Katsuki was left with nothing, but to answer the questions thrown his way. Before he knew it, the one hour mark was up, and Aizawa-sensei was emerging from his sleeping bag on the floor.
"Uhm, thanks for not exploding me there Kacchan" Izuku rambles. Wide-eyed at how the (not) nerd looks, Katsuki just grunts and says "whatever." Izuku takes it as some sort of sign and just smiles and says "So I'll need your number so we can meet up next week." That got Katsuki's mind reeling and immediately tries to think of reasons why Izuku of all people will ask for his number. He's taken out of his internal monologue when Izuku says "Oh wait, it's probably better if I email you using your school email handle, atleast I can send you progress reports on your costume upgrades. Well, I'll talk to you next week. See ya!"
With that, Izuku and his entire class all bow their heads and Aizawa sheperds them outside the classroom, probably to talk to them for a bit.
After class ends, Katsuki decides to forgo his training and holes up in his dorm room, just staring at the anonymous letter in his grasp. He's kinda screwed. He knows, but he grins despite himself. He's looking forward to the weekend, when he can keep the second letter he received together with the first.
The third letter came that morning. Fast forward 7 years, with lots of problems, misunderstandings, and a whole lot of crying (on Izuku's part, Katsuki swears), he and Izuku have managed to repair their ruined friendship and has since learned to exist together in the same room and even work together on occasion. Katsuki graduated as one of the Big 3 at U.A. and Izuku was scouted by a support company during his third year internship, and has since been working with a reputable support item company right after graduation.
Katsuki has come to terms with the idea that yes, his longing for his childhood bestfriend was not as platonic as he used to think (I'm just making up for lost time), but rather because he may or may not have developed romantic feelings for the (not) nerd. After finding out from class 3-A that Katsuki was bi, Izuku has been smiling at him more, and has even invited him out several times, always in the guise of "Kacchan, I want to discuss some possible costume upgrades, are you free?" And if they just so happen to meet up at some chic coffee shop or a cute cake shop, then it is what it is.
7 years into their tentative "friendship", Katsuki was hit with the realization that he really likes Izuku, and wants to ask him to be his boyfriend. So last week, he casually invited Izuku to their favorite izakaya that's situated in between his hero agency and Izuku's company. After arriving at his apartment to prepare for his "not date", he notices a letter in his mailbox. Seeing the same envelope and lettering, he quickly runs inside his room and opens his cabinet. Underneath his spare boots, he takes out the shoebox containing the first 2 letters he got. All the same envelope, same handwriting, and Katsuki has yet to figure out who sends these to him. Not wanting to jinx it, Katsuki sits on his bed and opens the new letter. The only words written inside was today's date, the restaurant he was supposed to meet Izuku in, and the words "Go to the other place" in bold black letters. Katsuki snickers and calls Izuku and tells him to meet him at that restaurant that serves Katsudon instead.
Later that night, while Izuku snuggles with Katsuki on his couch, Izuku jumps up and says "Oh yeah Kacchan, I forgot to tell you, but that izakaya we were supposed to go to got attacked by a villain earlier! Good thing Red Riot and Uravity were on patrol so they got everything under control! Can we drop by tomorrow? Check things out" Katsuki just snuggles into Izuku more. "Sure nerd, whatever you want."
-- end
PS: Now if only I can work out some details as to who is Katsuki's mysterious letter sender. A Katsuki from an alternate universe? Katsuki from the future sending his past self some dating tips? I'll leave it to your imagination 💚🧡

OKAY THIS IS AN IDEA THAT POPED INTO MY HEAD AND I CANT GET IT OUT!
It’s a Bakugou x oc but with SPICE an enemy’s to lovers SPICE!! so this is my first fic like this so let’s get to it I swear it’s good just read it please
Ryu’s pov:
I’m a transfer student. Things were pretty testy at my old school so my parents decided to stick me in another one. But they left out the one small detail that I was transferring to Ua. I guess the school thought I was good enough.
Today was my first day. I put on my unifor the skirt ending right by the top of my thighs. The shirt tight against my skin. The knee socks whitch were my favorite that ended at my knees of corse.
The uniform accented my curves. I guess it wasn’t made for a body type like mine. That’s fine it will be eaiser with my quirk anyways. I pulled my long pink curly hair into a high ponytail with bangs. My brown skin made my hair pop even more. I looked in the mirro. I looked presentable. Maybe a little slutty but it’s not my fault this unifor isn’t suited for a biracial girls curves. I grabbed my backpack. My parents already helped me move all my stuff to the dorms while the rest of the students were in school. I waved goodbye to my room kissed my parents and set off to the school.
I was nervous who won’t be but it was gonna be fine class 1a can’t be that bad right.
It was. It was that bad.
I entered the classroom after getting lost and a teacher directing me there. I opened the door and I saw the teacher I walked in and bowed. “Hello Aizawa sensi I’m the transfer student” “ah class I forgot to mention we have a transfer student” the calss immediately started talking. “How did you forget?” “Wow a new student” “who is she?” Are some of the things I could hear that were said. I stand in front of the class.
“Hello I’m Ryu Yu I’m transferring here I’m I have no idea what else to say. Oh also my pronouns are they/them if you have any questions I’ll answer them”
“Look at how short her skirt is she’s probably easy” I hear someone say “Mineta!” A girl that’s pink slaps the boy on his head. My eye color changes form it’s normal pink to red. I look at the boy that they call Mineta. “Excuse me” I walk up his desk “First of all my pronouns are They/Them and if you ever say something like that to me again” I squat down to his eye level and mutters so only he can hear me “I’ll crush you like the fucking grape you are” I stand back up and turn away from him smirking at the look of terror on his face.
A girl name Tsu raises her hand and asks “what is they/ them?” I smile “They/ them basically mean you know how you call someone she her that’s exactly how you use they them” “oh! Thank you” she reply’s. Then a rough looking boy in the back with ash blond hair says “tch just another weakling” I glare at him “who the hell you calling weak?” He narrows his eyes at me and stands up “you look like a weakling like I could crush you like a bug” “you think you scare me pretty boy? It’s your type that have the most insecurities I wonder which ones you have~” the class goes wide eyed my guess is that no one speak is to this idiot like I am. He gets in my face “say that again” he makes sparks in his hands. His quirk I’m guessing. “Your just a loud mouth privileged asshole!” He lunges at me and I smirk one of his friend a tall red head grabs him and pulls him back. He’s shouting insults and I just stand there as if I couldn’t have a care in the world. I look at the teacher even he looks surprised. “Where is my seat?” He points at a desk next to a green haired boy who looks very sacred.
I take my seat down next to him and say “I swear I’m not mean to people who don’t deserve it what’s your name?” “Oh um I’m Izuku Midoryia but people call me Deku” “Deku?” “Yeah it’s along story” “well you’ll have to tell me it sometime” he smiles
As class starts and through out the day I learn everyone’s name. Now it come for quirk training class and they split us up into partners. And lucky me Bakugous my partner.
“I’m going enjoy blowing you to bits” he says I smirk “kinky” his eye widen “I didn’t mean it like that shitty girl your gonna get it” he makes mini explosions with his hands and I roll my eyes. See I’m the product of quirk mulitpling. My parents and my parents parents were all forced to marry to make powerful children. My mother has 3 quirks and my father has 6. I have 5 that all merge into eachother some way. Most of them are cause of a chemical imbalance in me. I usually don’t use one of them cause it’s deadly and I would rather not kill anyone. But I was breed to be a killing machine so let’s say my child hood wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. My parents are villains so is the rest of my family. But my mom didn’t want me to be some an assassin she wanted me to chose my path. Which is why she picked this school.
The teacher says to start and Bakugo lunges at me and just as it looks like he’s about to hit me I disappear into thin air then I end up behind him and I hit him with my vines. They wrap around his body and throw him to the ground it all happens in a flash. And the pure confusion on his face is priceless. I reappear and he looks pissed then he burns off my vines and stands up I yawn. “You think this is funny!?” He yells “no I think it’s boring” I smirk as he growls and goes to attack me again. “Fine I’ll play fair this time I won’t disappear” he sends an explosion my way and I fly into the air and create thorns and sent them flying into his skin. He cry’s out in pain as they cut him. “How the fuck are you doing this what is your quirk?!” He aks me. I drop to the ground.
I’m better at long distance fighting it’s what my quirks are suited for. But I’m supposed to be training and if I want to get better I have to work on my close combat. The huge draw back to my quirks is that if I use them to much tattoos that look like vines will appear on my arms and they inject deadly posing into my blood stream. Now my body is use to the poison but if to much of it is released into my body I could die. And the posin makes me loopy and nauseous almost drunk like. It isn’t idea for battle at all. Also I have many weak points in my body where if you hit them I won’t be able to use one of my quirks. Hit all of them and I’m done for.
“Now why would I tell you that?” I walk towards him. I don’t how a power quirk but I can use my fly quirk to make my punches even more powerful then they should be. He sends an explosion at my face and I use a wall of vines to sheild myself they disinagrate but protect me. He keeps on trying to use his explosions and I keep defecting. I sigh “this is getting boring use a different tactic!” I disappear again and strik him in his back he falls to the ground and gets back up theres blood dripping from his mouth
“Shit did I hit him to hard?” I say to myself he sends an explosion my way and I don’t have time to deflect “oH SHIT” I brace myself as I feel the heat around me causing a few burns. We keep going and by now the whole class is staring at us out of worry and awe. But both of us are beating up eachother really bad. It seems as if we are trying to kill eachother. The insults that we keep throwing at eachother seem to fuel our adrenaline.
Then the teachers steps in and pulls us away from eachother. We fight against there grips still yelling curses at eachother. I give up and push against the teacher grip. “Let go of me I’m fine!” “No your bleeding from several spots go to the recovery girl ” “I’m fine” “weak” Bakugou sneers “prick!” I shoot back “bitch” “asshole” “slut” my eyes turn red and I lunge at him this time it’s one of the student who stops me. It’s Deku. “ let go of me” Kirishima walks up to Bakugou and slaps him in the back of the head. “Don’t disrespect women it’s not manly” bakugo still being help back by one of the teachers, yells at Kirishima.
“Cmon Yu you do look very injured poets get you to recovery girl” I sigh I don’t like being mean to people who don’t deserve and Deku is really sweet I can’t say no to him “fine but I’m not gonna like it” he chuckles “that’s fine with me”
((SO IM SORRY IF THAT WAS BAD THAT IS JUST A TEARSEE FOR IT I JUST REALLY LOVED THIS IDEA))

Baby its Cold Outside (PART 13)
Bakugo X Reader
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
Words: 2122
PART 1 HERE, PART 2 HERE, PART 3 HERE PART 4 HERE PART 5 HERE , PART 6 HERE PART 7 HERE PART 8 HERE PART 9 HERE PART 10 HERE PART 11 HERE PART 12 HERE PART 13 HERE PART 14 HERE
Tumblr media
*****************************************************************************************************
“OI dumbass! What are you doing? Let me help you with that!”
It was Christmas eve and you were just trying to organize the presents around the tree. Your baby bump was more like a baby basketball at this point. Only a few more weeks to go before the world had a new Bakugo. You groaned as you straightened up bracing your hands on your lower back. “Thanks babe... there’s only a few more. Your mom stopped by earlier today and dropped off a bunch of stuff. Like it took both of us like five trips to the car to get all of it unloaded. I’m assuming it’s mostly baby stuff.”
“Wouldn't surprise me if it was all baby stuff.” He helped you over to the couch. “The old hag won't shut up about the little guy.”
He organized the last of the presents before joining you on the couch. He pulled both of your feet into his lap and started to rub them. “She loves you and she's excited about having her first grandchild. I cant tell you how many times she's given me a speech about how you are too good for me and you’re the kid she’s always wanted and I cant screw this up.”
“Aw babe she loves you too you know. All she could do was talk about how cute you were as a baby and how exceptional you were. Said our kid was going to be amazing with my heart and the Bakugo genes. Naturally she did throw in a couple jabs about your attitude but she does love you..”
He leaned over and put his head in your lap, “She is right though... I dont deserve you. I’m thankful every day that you saw something in me and decided to give me a chance.”
“That is not true! Bakugo Katsuki you take that back right now! I am not too good for you! If anything you’re the one who's constantly taking care of me.”
He snuggled further into your lap, “I love you. So much. And I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
You giggled, “Katsuki if I didn't know better I would say that sounded like a proposal.”
“So what if it was?” He pushed himself up and into a kneeling position on the floor in front of you. With sure hands he pulled a small red box out of his jacket pocket. “Y/n... I’ve been carrying this stupid ring around for probably six months now. It’s not that I didn't want to ask you sooner... its just you know how stubborn I can be. And for some reason I had made up my mind that I was going to propose on Christmas. I know it’s your favorite holiday and I dont know, its probably stupid but I just wanted it to be special.” He opened the box to show off the most gorgeous ring you had ever seen.
“Y/n would you do me the honor of being my wi- Oi are you crying?”
You had tears streaming down your face, “You try having the love of your life propose to you with the most beautiful ring ever in existence while being eight and half months pregnant full of fucking hormones on fucking Christmas eve of all fucking nights! Of course I’m fucking crying!”
He just smiled, took the ring out of the box, and held it to your finger, “So is that a yes?”
You wiped your tears with the hand he wasnt holding, “Yes! Of fucking course!”
He slid the ring onto your finger before giving you a soft kiss. He cupped your damp cheeks in his hands, “Mrs. Bakugo... Has a nice ring to it.”
You chuckled, “Damn I thought I was going to be Mrs. Zero... Is it too late to change my answer?”
He squeezed your thigh, “I’m afraid us Bakugos don’t come with a return policy. So it looks like you’re stuck with me.”
“OH! Yuuto will be so happy! At least once a month he asks if you’ve proposed yet. He’s always saying his quirk keeps telling him its the only logical outcome and it was making him anxious that we weren't engaged yet. Every time I would tell him no he’d just say ‘Any day now would be nice.’”
Bakugo laughed resuming his place on the couch with arm draped around you, “Not much of a filter on that kid huh? Well I’m surprised he kept it a secret this long. I actually told him about this a month ago. He kept bugging me about it that one day I came to eat lunch with you and decided to hang out with the class the rest of the day. So eventually I told him so he’d calm down.”
“Sounds like Yuuto. Did I tell you he took down Aizawa in his final exam? Took him all of ten minutes. I tried to tell him how awesome he was and all he had to say was, ‘I have him memorized at this point, all logical outcomes led to me passing.’ The kid spent weeks prepping by watching every video of every teacher fighting. He knew every move before it even happened. He's something else.”
“I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, he reminds me of Deku, except way smarter and honestly more tolerable. I love how blunt he is, even if he doesn't mean to be. He's honest and to the point and I can respect that.”
It was obvious how much Bakugo cared for Yuuto. He worked with him every now and then when he had free time. It made your heart soar with how patient he was with him. In a way they both lacked social skills but they both strived to be better versions of themselves. Sometimes you thought Bakugo took more away from their training sessions than Yuuto did. You wouldn't be surprised if when the time comes Ground Zero got a new side kick.
You flinched as the baby started kicking. It wasnt the first time but this time seemed to be bit harder than usual. You grabbed Katsuki's hand and placed it on your belly, “He’s kicking!”
With his hands on your belly and his forehead on you shoulder... this was what true happiness felt like. “Babe? How would you feel about a Christmas wedding?”
He turned to look at you, “I’d be fine with that. Would give us about a year to get everything figured out. The baby could be the ring barer, that’s be pretty fucking cute..”
“No... I mean like tomorrow. Fuck it. I dont need a fancy wedding. I just need you. We can renew our vows later if we want to, but I’m done waiting. I just want to be married.”
He gave you a wicked smile, “Look babe I know you're desperate to lock me down but I honestly think you’ll be a little upset later down the road if we did the bare minimum. So how about we compromise? You call our parents, I’ll call our friends. Tomorrow night we’ll have a small courthouse wedding with just us, followed by a dope ass after party with all our friends and family. How does that sound?”
You threw you arms around his neck, “You are so perfect! Oh my gosh!” You pulled back, “Shit what am I going to wear? Im huge! I won't fit into any of my nice dresses! No where will be open either! It’s Christmas eve!”
He sighed, “Okay just this once... I’ll pull the Ground Zero card. We can ask Sasha, the women who does all my hero costume alterations if she could have something put together by tomorrow morning. Let me make a call.”
Half an hour later you were sending over a few pictures of dresses you liked to Sasha. She said not to worry and she’d have a dress ready in no time. Shit this was happening. You were really getting married tomorrow.
*****************
You spun a few times in front of the mirror. You dont know how she did it but Sasha was really amazing. She came over a little after lunch and did last minute alterations and she somehow managed to make you look beautiful and not at all like an oversized marshmallow.
Mina came over and helped you with your hair and makeup. She, Kirishima and you and Bakugos parents were the only ones that would be at the actual ceremony. Momo, Denki, Dylan and cementoss were over at the UA gym decorating it for the after party. You had decided that that it was big enough and secure enough that you all could have a good time without worrying about paparazzi trying to sneak in. Katsuki had gone a bit overboard with the after party invites. Claiming he wanted everyone to see you were off limits. As if they hadn't known that already.
You felt like a total cliche with your shot gun wedding but honestly you didn't care. You were starting a family... starting a life with Katsuki. Its all you had ever wanted. So as you walked down that isle all you could do was beam your most endearing smile, and all Katsuki could do was return the gesture.
It was time for your vows. You knew Katsuki was nervous because he's not always the best with his words, or expressing his feeling for that matter but he surprised everyone in the room. “Y/n. A little over a year ago... One year, one month, and four days ago to be exact. You threw a snowball at my head. And shit are you lucky I was already so far gone over you already. That may have been the day we officially started dating but I fell in love with you years before that. I fell in love with you the day you pantsed me outside of UA with all of our future classmates watching and I’ve loved you every day since. Any girl who could be that pretty AND put up with my bullshit. Definitely a keeper. I may have had weird ways of showing it. And I’ll be the first to admit I was a dick from time to time. But you bring out the best in me and I cant imagine a life for me without you in it.”
You stuck your lip out, “Aww Katsuki that’s so sweet. Oh shit you're going to make me cry again.” He slid the wedding ring on your finger giving your hand a quick encouraging squeeze. You have no idea where or how he got wedding rings on such short notice but you weren't going to ask.
“Alright so I guess it’s my turn then. So we've obviously been friends for years now. But we've also been rivals for years as well. We always competed at UA in just about everything. We competed for better grades. We fought constantly, literally with our firsts just as much as we screamed at each other. Just the other day we tried to see who could fit more marshmallows in their mouth. But the only thing I've ever been better at than you was English. Which brings me to the only time you ever asked me for help... Your Oscar Wilde paper. It was in your dorm room that day that I truly fell in love with you because that was the first day I saw the kind, soft side of you that I’m so familiar with now. And like Oscar Wilde once said, ‘You dont love someone for their looks, or their clothes, or for their fancy car, but because they sing a song only you can hear.’ and baby you sing that song every day in the little things you do for me and I don't think it’ll ever get old.”
A single tear fell down his cheek which he was very quick to catch before anyone noticed. “You may now kiss the bride.”
And just like that you shared your first kiss as husband and wife.
Later you two were sitting at a table eating cupcakes at your after party. All of your friends dancing around you having a good time. You leaned over so he could hear you over the music, “I never knew you liked me all that time. I’m sorry it took me so long to catch up.”
He gave you a wicked smile, “I’m used to waiting on you by now. I’m just sorry you actually thought you were better at English than me... I never needed help on that Oscar Wilde paper... I just wanted an excuse to spend time with you.”

BnHA Chapter 254: Who the Hell Is Bucky
Previously on BnHA: All Might welcomed 1-A back after the new year with a pun he’s probably been working on for the entire winter break, the poor man. Aizawa received a call :’) and drove down to Tartarus with Mic to meet up with Naomasa and Gran Torino. Nao and Gran were all “so you’ll NEVER GUESS, but we found out that Kurogiri’s quirk is apparently a FAKE QUIRK which was created from a bunch of other quirks -- AND GUESS WHICH ONE WAS THE ORIGINAL QUIRK?” and Aizawa was all (ಠ ∩ಠ), and Mic put a hand on his shoulder, and Nao was all “YEAH YOU DID GUESS, IT’S YOUR OLD DEAD PAL SHIRAKUMO, FROM CHAPTERS 59 THROUGH 65 OF VIGILANTES!” And okay, so (1) OH MY GOD, and (2) I originally thought this meant that Kurogiri is straight up a zombie!Shirakumo, but others pointed out that he might be some random other dude who just has Kumo’s quirk, among others. And like, okay. SO WHAT IS THE TRUTH.
Today on BnHA: Y’ALL HE REALLY IS A ZOMBIE!KUMO, AND NAOMASA AND GRAN BROUGHT AIZAWA AND MIC TO TALK TO HIM AND TRY TO RESTORE HIS MEMORIES SOMEHOW. Aizawa is all “this isn’t some fantasy world with happy endings, this is THE REAL WORLD WHERE MIRACLES DON’T HAPPEN!” but Gran is all “sometimes they do!” and Aizawa is like “!!” and so they sit down to chat with Kumo. Aizawa launches into a passionate speech about how great Kumo was and how he pulled him along and inspired him, and how he (Aizawa) is strict with his students now and -- get this -- FAKE-EXPELS THEM IN ORDER TO PUT THE FEAR OF GOD INTO THEM JUST ONCE LMAO, BUT IT’S BECAUSE HE CARES, and because he wants them to be great heroes and not hapless redshirts who get killed offscreen. And by the end of it he’s crying and imploring Shirakumo -- “if you’re still in there somewhere” -- to become heroes with him and Mic just like they always wanted. All of it is exactly as emotionally devastating as you would figure, btw.
you guys I have been playing hopscotch on my dash since yesterday trying to avoid spoilers about the popularity poll until I actually had time to write down my reactions! all I know is that of course Bakugou is #1 again, because this fandom always comes through lol. my other predictions are that the rest of the trio will receive lots of love again as well, and Hawks will once again be high on the list, and Aizawa too because of the Vigilantes flashbacks (at least HE BETTER), and probably the villains will get a big boost as well after their arc, Tomura in particular. and Endeavor might break the top 10 again too with the newest arc, although I can’t quite remember whether or not the poll was still going on by the time that started (ETA: actually I don’t think it was). but yeah. anyway so there’s a real possibility that most of the kids will actually be shut out of the top ranks because of these GROWN-UPS and VILLAINS stealing all their glory, smh. your time will come, kids
“more than anyone, you were a hero” oh is this chapter going to play with my feelings yet again. is this just going to happen every fucking week now. okay
HELL YEAH MY BOYS ON THE COVER
Tumblr media
@unboundednamelessfuture, to answer your ask about whether I’m planning on watching Heroes Rising, the answer is a resounding YES, POSSIBLY EVEN MULTIPLE TIMES IN THEATERS IF I CAN SWING IT, because I’m pretty sure it’s actually just going to be All My Dreams Come True: The Movie. and yes I have seen some spoilers for it, although I’m not clear on whether or not they’re actual spoilers or just rumors. so because of that I won’t post my thoughts just yet, except to say that if it is true, see above re: All My Dreams Come True: The Movie, and also add a bunch more exclamation points at the end of the title omfg
anyway so my sons are famous now. they’re in Hollywood. good for them
AND NOW THE POLLLLLLLL YES
Tumblr media
oh shit, I heard about “Deku & Bakugou Rising”, but is that out this week?? shit I’ll have to do a separate post if that’s the case. I’m assuming it’s more of a bonus chapter than an actual spinoff, kind of like the All Might chapter we got for the last movie. either way, to say I’m hyped would be a massive understatement, needless to say
(ETA: okay so I’ve seen Korean scanlations of this -- which I didn’t look at closely because spoilers -- but no English scans yet. so stay tuned!)
so I was wrong about the kids being shooed out of the top 10! I have never been so pleased to be wrong! so we have Kacchan at #1 (I love his face so much. ghlkhf), Deku at #2 (he beat Shouto this year! good for you!!), Shouto at #3 (wouldn’t be surprised if he and Deku were neck and neck again though), Kirishima at #4 (we stan one bright ray of sunshine), Iida at #5 (YOU DESERVE IT SO MUCH SWEETHEART. I’M SO GLAD FANDOM ISN’T SLEEPING ON THE ACTUAL BEST CHARACTER IN THE SERIES), Tomura at #6 (DID YOU NOT GET THE MEMO ABOUT WEARING A NUMBER ON YOUR OUTFIT? MAKING ME FIGURE IT OUT FROM THE PROCESS OF ELIMINATION IS A REAL BASTARD MOVE. THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT YOU AT #8 TO MATCH YOUR CURRENT NUMBER OF FINGERS YOU STUPID SEXY JERK), Aizawa at #7 (THANK YOU FANDOM, YOU’VE REDEEMED YOURSELVES FROM LAST YEAR), Ochako at #8 (I LOVE YOUUUU), Toga at #9 (LADIES!!!!!!), and Momo at #10 (YES GIRRRRRL)
I think this is the strongest showing of ladies yet in the top ten (ETA: actually no, the second poll was slightly better) and I’m all about it. also can they all please keep these costume upgrades because YES. I don’t care if Horikoshi would get sick of drawing them. THAT’S WHAT ASSISTANTS ARE FOR. KATSUKI HAS A FUCKING BULLET BANDOLIER, COME ON, YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS JUST A ONE TIME THING YOU ASSCLOWNS, THIS IS FOR THE PEOPLE
lol here’s the abridged version of the Shirakumo flashbacks, I guess. everyone was saying last week how Vigilantes was now required reading, and like, I get that everyone’s excited about the crossover, but they still have to make this comprehensible for people who only read the main series. I’m guessing we’ll get the short version here, but Vigilantes gets to provide the more in-depth story for people who want to know more about everything, which is more or less what Vigilantes’s role has been in general
anyway so here’s Kumo doing his usual Naruto impression and cheerfully dooming himself by being ceaselessly optimistic and tempting fate’s sense of irony
Tumblr media
you sure can! just so long as that crisis doesn’t involve big, heavy rocks, or gravity. I’m sorry kiddo
“‘let’s all form an agency together.’ it happened just after he said those words.” well there you have it, the BnHA equivalent of “one week left till my retirement.” hero training should really include a mandatory course titled Death Flags: The Silent Killers. there are children’s lives at stake here
lol yeah this really is abridged
Tumblr media
“once upon a time we all wanted to be heroes and then Shirakumo got crushed by some rocks the end.” yeah, so maybe not quite the full emotional impact of the original lol
OH SHIT SON
Tumblr media
so it is his reanimated corpse, then! which means the potential for him somehow dramatically regaining his memories is very high. since this is a shounen manga, I’m gonna go ahead and put it at... 100%. is that too low
guys I don’t know what to do when Present Mic is making faces like this
Tumblr media
when even the Comic Relief Guy is getting all traumatized and serious, you know it’s bad. sob who will I turn to now for comfort. Horikoshi’s really just gonna go full dark no stars here and leave me just stumbling around lost
OH IF IT ISN’T THE ORIGINAL PIECE OF SHIT HIMSELF!!
Tumblr media
yeah it makes perfect sense actually, you bastard. you steal the bodies from the crematorium and then give the families fake ashes or something. holy shit you really will not stop until you find the lowest possible level to stoop to, and then grab a fucking shovel and start digging so as to GO DOWN EVEN LOWER. just. god everything about this is just so wrong
oh btw, now seems like a good time to bring up this ask I got last week!
Tumblr media
anon you blew my mind, just so you know. you’re absolutely right. so that’s one mystery down! though the way that this is going, I’m not so sure I’m gonna like any of the other answers that the Noumu arc is gonna provide us sob
holy shit look at this fucking simile
Tumblr media
dead children = leftovers. sure why not. just in case we all forgot how evil he is
and also, YEAH BUDDY THAT’S WHAT I JUST FUCKING SAID, PLEASE KEEP UP. and who even knows how many other times AFO has done this. I hope they’ve started investigating crematoriums, then. I’m just waiting for them to make some connection that leads to them finally finding out about Ujiko, but that might take a while still
(ETA: although if they actually can get Kumo to talk...)
and did he really just solemnly call Mic “DJ” because omfg. Gran, are you the comic relief. do you even know. are you even aware
oh hey look another dagger to my heart
Tumblr media
ouch. that was cold. and... not necessarily true, though, is it? because he was kind enough to Tomura. idk, I know my villain mom has done some horrible things, but you’ll be hard pressed to get me to think of him as all bad, even so. he was the one keeping Tomura from going FULLASS MURDER MODE!! for a long time
HEY WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF COP-OUT IS THIS
Tumblr media
well then WHY DID YOU EVEN BRING THEM IN HERE! DID THEY NOT SEEM TRAUMATIZED ENOUGH TO YOU?? “well idk they seem pretty shaken up already, but just to make sure they grasp the full repugnant horror of the situation why don’t we make them visit him face to face.” OKAY THEN YOU SADISTS
son of a bitch and speaking of twisting the knife, Horikoshi keeps showing us these increasingly wrecked glimpses of Aizawa lowkey falling apart and I can’t
Tumblr media
at this point the shadows under his eyes have their own shadows. and god dude, I know you’re rational, but it’s really hard to watch you just outright dismiss any and all possibilities of hope just like that :(
what the fuck Gran
Tumblr media
so you really are the one in this scene who’s trying to lift everyone’s spirits now. well all right then, just what are you alluding to
OH SNAP
Tumblr media
LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD NOUMU BACKSTORY AT LAST! jesus christ, do Nao and Gran just know everything already, and they’ve just been keeping it all to themselves for the hell of it?? how long before they casually swing by U.A. and are all “oh and by the way, the traitor is...”
ANOTHER AIZAWA FACE BUT THIS ONE IS SOFT OH GOD!!
Tumblr media
HEY WHAT’S UP I’M GONNA CRY. SOMEONE TURN ON SOME SAD MUSIC. AND I WON’T GO, AND I WON’T SLEEP, AND I CAN’T BREATHE, UNTIL YOU’RE RESTING HERE WITH ME
Tumblr media
AND I WON’T LEAVE, I CAN’T HIDE, I CANNOT BEEEEEEEE
Tumblr media
hey Nao. you know what really would have helped with getting him to talk. NOT KNOCKING HIM UNCONSCIOUS. ??? move over do you need someone else to do your job for you or
-- OH THEY’RE TALKING TO HIM NOW LMAO OKAY
Tumblr media
“go ahead and do your thing guys. don’t be afraid to make it real gay”
Tumblr media
this would be even more dramatic if Kurogiri actually had a face. but even so... OH I AM WHAT I AM. I’LL DO WHAT I WANT. BUT IIIIIIII CAN’T HIIIIDE
oh my fucking god Aizawa is all “but what about his family?” and Naomasa is literally “if you two are unsuccessful, then...” like straight up acknowledging that the three of them were so fucking gay in high school that their odds of getting through to Kumogiri are stronger than that of his OWN FUCKING FAMILY. wow
Tumblr media
chin up my sexy man. you got this
OH SHIT AHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
LDSKFHL EASY THERE CHAMP, THAT’S TOO MUCH SEX TO BE CONTAINED IN A SINGLE PANEL, PLEASE TRY AND DO ME A FAVOR AND FUCKING HOLD IT TOGETHER HERE FOR THE KIDS WHO ARE READING THIS!! [frantically googles ‘can a shounen manga get you pregnant’]
so Aizawa is all “I’ll be damned if I let his family hear this sickening story” and like, I’m sure he means that in a “they don’t deserve that pain” kind of noble and principled way, but if it were my child I sure would want to know regardless. and aren’t they going to find out either way?? either you do get through to him, in which case obviously you would want the family to know “HEY, GOOD NEWS!”, or you don’t manage it and Nao has to call them anyway as we just established. but you go ahead and get all fired up then, Shouta
now there’s a panel of him staring at Kumo and Kumo is just a big shapeless blob of black smoke just sitting there lol. don’t tell me he’s still unconscious?!
Tumblr media
oh
Tumblr media
thank you
Tumblr media
anyway so Aizawa, did you know that while you were off being an underground hero, Kumo was studying at Oxford to get his medical degree while bartending on nights and weekends to make ends meet. the two of you have so much to catch up about
Mic’s thinking that even with Aizawa using his quirk, the fog isn’t dissipating, so it means Kumo’s body is now made up of fog. well but then what about the metal neck thingy! huh??
and Mic’s opening his big mouth to complain that Kurogiri is far too polite and classically educated to really be their old pal, but before he can finish, Kumo is interrupting to ask about his son!!
Tumblr media
he’s. uh. I guess you could call it “well”? maybe a little too well [marge simpson noises]
well Mic is clearly back to being the comic relief here. but Aizawa is keenly spotting those mom instincts that have remained in Kumo to this day!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yes Aizawa the core of your friend is still in there deep down!
OH MY GOD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LMAOOOO. “EMO PUNK... WHERE HAVE I HEARD THAT BEFORE -- !!” [AUDIBLY GASPS AND LOOKS DIRECTLY AT AIZAWA]
oh my lord. like, I don’t think this is actually meant to be funny, but just the fact that he immediately associates “emo” with AIZAWA FUCKING SHOUTA so strongly that it makes him go (•̪ o •̪) all knowingly has me fucking deceased right now good grief
so Kumo says he doesn’t resent his mission at all. some people like looking after emo punks, Mic. you should know
AND NOW MY FEELINGS ARE BEING TOYED WITH AGAIN!! JUST STRAIGHT UP OUT IN THE OPEN!! THIS ISN’T FAIR
Tumblr media
heh. don’t mind me I’m just looking for some sort of emotional support to cling to here for my breakdown that’s about to happen about 0.2 seconds after Aizawa starts crying, if he indeed starts to cry. which it looks like he might. oh god I’m not ready for this at all. my hatches are not even remotely battened; my shutters are just gonna go flying right the fuck off
by the way what the fuck is up with the chairs at Tartarus. why do they look like swiss cheese
Tumblr media
hmm, Nao and Torino are all “no reaction”, but to me it looks like there clearly is a reaction, though? he can’t even look Aizawa in the eye all of a sudden. it’s clearly getting to him. Nao seriously, do you need someone else to do your job
oh Aizawa
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ETA: Kumo really first-named Aizawa two seconds after meeting him. this man knows how to adopt his introverts.)
okay but Present Mic in a summer uniform is the most punchable version yet, SORRY I JUST HAD TO SAY IT I’M SORRY MIC I LOVE YOU. it was just gonna come bursting up out of me if I didn’t
anyway so Aizawa is gaying it up just as promised
Tumblr media
him using his quirk is definitely making the scene more intense, but I’m not really sure why he actually is using it, since we’ve established it’s not having any effect. unless he’s trying to possibly undo some of the brainwashing somehow??
(ETA: so it occurred to me that just because his quirk isn’t dissolving Kumo’s mist body doesn’t mean that it’s not having an effect on his warp abilities. this way they can interrogate him without fear of him trying to use it and them having to knock him out again.)
so Kumo’s continuing to try and play it off all smooth while Aizawa unleashes the full force of fifteen years of pent up grief and trauma!
Tumblr media
starting to think Aizawa never did go to therapy after that whole thing. typical U.A. “so you saw your best friend die suddenly and violently right before your eyes and subsequently suppressed it and hallucinated his voice talking to you to avoid facing that reality, huh? eh, you’ll be fine”
oh no a close-up of Aizawa that doesn’t show his face completely. this kind of thing never ends well
Tumblr media
BECAUSE HE DOESN’T WANT THEM TO END UP LIKE YOU [sobs forever]
wait are we really going to talk about this?? omg
Tumblr media
wait what. so do you mean to tell me he expelled them but then continued to guide them afterwards so they would have long, happy and healthy careers but more importantly would be safe omfg I’m not fucking ready for this shit
we’re cutting to U.A.’s class 2-A! Aizawa’s former class? does that mean he literally expelled EVERY SINGLE ONE of his students last year omg
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so then. does every single standout characteristic of the Aizawa we know and love stem from his tragic past and his relationship with this boy then, or what? meanwhile the feelings continue to torrentially lash against my house while I huddle in the basement
I can’t fucking believe we’re actually getting a legit reveal about the “Aizawa expels all his students” gag holy shit
Tumblr media
re-enroll!? what?? and “expel” in quotation marks?!?
Tumblr media
ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS -- HE DID IT JUST TO SCARE THEM!? AND THEN WHAT, WERE THEY PICKED UP AFTERWARD BY THE OTHER HERO CLASSES INSTEAD? SO HE TEACHES THEM A POTENTIALLY LIFE-SAVING LESSON AND THEN GETS TO LAZE AROUND THE REST OF THE YEAR, LOL WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. THIS MAN IS A GENIUS
(ETA: and by this logic, Deku really ought to have been expelled half a dozen times by now. don’t ever try and tell me that this man doesn’t play favorites.)
so Aizawa is taking his goggles off and saying that he’s strict with his students because he wants them to live long, fulfilling lives
OH NO
Tumblr media
SOMEHOW HORIKOSHI MADE KURO’S FACE LOOK SOFT?! I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW, IS THERE ANYTHING HE CAN’T DO
AHHHHH

Little Life - Ch.13
Summary:  A baby could ruin his career before it had even started. If anyone found out, he would be kicked out of the Hero Course at the very least and UA at the very worst. Even then, how was he supposed to care for a baby once it arrived? He was a fucking seventeen-year-old boy, not a twenty-nine-year-old omega with their shit at least somewhat together.
…..
Or where Katsuki get pregnant, but is determined to make it to graduation. No matter what it takes.
Pairing: Bakudeku
Rating: T (just for language mostly)

Chapter 13: Class
Katsumi snuffled, making noise for the first time since the class period had started. Without looking up from his notes, Katsuki started to purr low in his chest. He reached between his body and the sling he kept her in to open his shirt enough to tuck her head against his chest.
Immediately, she latched on. He only stiffened for a moment at the sharp pain that reawakened from his abused nipples before settling into the familiar rush of endorphins. Katsumi didn't always want to eat when she woke up, but they'd gotten her on a pretty good schedule. Katsuki also seemed to possess a preternatural understanding of what she wanted before she started to cry, which helped because he could barely stand the crying. He knew that before getting pregnant, and it had not changed. If she was fussy, Izuku usually took her without comment to find a place to soothe her.
Katsuki studiously ignored the way Jirou was stared across the short space between them in fascination.
Katsumi had started growing quickly after her birth. Already, she was six pounds and had sprouted long limbs. She looked like a fucking muppet, but Izuku refused to let him dress her as Kermit the Frog. Not that he still didn't when he got together with Kirishima and Ochako. Mina had been exiled from baby time after she couldn't control her quirk in the baby's presence the first time.
She was still a far cry from how big most pups were even born at, but she was growing. That was the biggest thing. Her small size and uncooperative limbs seemed to be the bane of her existence and the predominant reason for her fussy crying. When she fussed and cried. So far, she'd been a pretty quiet baby, and Katsuki couldn't have been more thankful.
All of her extra energy that didn't go to crying or growing limbs twice her size seemingly went into mass producing hair just like her damn father. While her eyes were still the vibrant red of Katsuki's, her hair had become a bushel of green curls that he just knew he'd be fighting for the rest of his natural life.
Ten minutes later, Aizawa snapped his book closed at the front of the class. "Take fifteen. Midnight will be here soon." Without preamble, he strode from the room to leave his rowdy students to their chaos.
Katsuki groaned, stretching one arm over his head and then the other to keep Katsumi still. In her sling, Katsumi's mouth pulled away. She started to whine against his skin. Fishing her out to wiggle his fingers in her face, he said without looking, "Deku, can you take Katsumi? I need to piss."
Izuku swooped in beside him, pressing a kiss to Katsuki's temple as he scooped up the baby. She was dressed in an All Might onesie that was still a little big on her, but Katsuki had modified it in the important places. "Of course I can. How's my beautiful baby girl doing?" he cooed, pressing kisses all over her face and stomach as she giggled.
Katsuki stood, stretching again before returning the kiss. "She probably needs a change before Midnight gets here. I didn't change her before this period. She might be dry, but you should check." He shoved his hands deep into his pockets to keep from reaching for her again. He trusted Izuku implicitly with Katsumi, but there was always a bit of anxiety when he let her go. Izuku wasn't the problem in this equation, it was the rest of the idiots who got up to coo at the little green haired baby. If he didn't have to pee, he wouldn't leave their sides for an instant, but if he were actually being honest, he needed a moment to himself. "You know, before she starts screaming. She needs to be burped too. Give her five more minutes, and then check if she needs a change."
Before he left, he turned to Kirishima. "Don't let Mineta anywhere near them. If I find him within ten feet of her again, I will string him up by his ankles at the front gate."
Looking aggrieved, but in complete agreement, Kirishima nodded.
Izuku didn't look up at he nodded as well, spending the time blowing a raspberry against her cheek to make her giggle again. "I can do that," he said before exclaiming, "You've been eating so much, but it's all going to your hair!"
Turning, Katsuki quickly left the room, ignoring the urge to snap the necks of everyone that crowded around Izuku in his wake. He'd just have to trust Kirishima -which he also did- to keep them mostly at bay.
Instead of taking a urinal, Katsuki locked himself in a stall. When he was done, he just pressed his back to the door. He scrubbed at his eyes with the back of his wrists. He was tired, so fucking tired.
Between class, homework, training and the baby, it felt like he never slept. Which was a lie. Katsumi never cried at night. Both his and Izuku's bodies were set on a timer now, and rarely did they not wake up before she even began to murmur. So, they never got the jerk of surprise from being woken by a cry. Waking up every couple of hours was still waking up every couple of hours though.
So far, Katsuki had only woken up three times to find Katsumi nursing while Izuku dosed with the two of them pulled to his chest, the baby cradled between them. And there had only been four times when Izuku didn't even twitch a muscle when Katsuki rose to get her from her crib.
Still, he was tired. He knew he would be. That was at least something that had been consistent in his research. He had been tired for ten straight months, and he was likely to be until Katsumi could at least make a sandwich on her own.
With a heavy sigh, he moved to push himself away from the door, but stopped when he heard the bathroom door open again.
"Yo, like what the fuck is up with that?" a voice asked, unfamiliar, but most voices were. He didn't usually pay enough attention to other students enough to recognize people he didn't see as frequently as his classmates.
"What's up with what?" Another unfamiliar voice.
"That prick from 3-A carrying around a baby. What the fuck is his name again? Bakugou or something?"
"Dude, didn't you see the news. That's the baby he rescued during that huge battle a month ago."
The first voice scoffed. "That's a load of crap, and you know it. Did you know he's an omega?"
"Yes? He's part of the big three and he's one of the only male omegas in the hero course? Do you even go to this school? What are you on about? Are you jealous that he's a better hero than you or just mad that he's not your omega?"
"Me? Jealous of that asshole? As if," the first voice laughed, "That baby is his for sure. He probably fucked his way to the top, and got pregnant doing it. Bet if I asked nicely, he'd get on his knees like the slut he is. I'd show him what a real alpha is supposed to be. He'd never get enough-"
Having heard enough, Katsuki kicked open the stall door, breaking the lock and the hinges in one fell swoop.
"Oh shit," the holder of the second voice whispered, eyes widening as he stood up straight from where he'd been leaning against a skin.
Darkly, Katsuki traced his eyes over the alpha standing still in front of a urinal, lingering on his dick in his hands. He smirked, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Like you could ever hope to be enough of an alpha to handle me. I would wreck you," he growled, stepping passed the broken stall door to stand next to him, "Like you'd be enough of an alpha to handle my mate." His eyes dropped to the alpha's dick again as he sneered. "Pathetic. Omega or not, baby or not, I'm still going to be the top in the end."
With that very specific, very pointed double entendre, he headed for the door. He stopped by the other student who was cowering by the sink. The boy stunk of the other alpha, but the scent was forced, not mixed like it was with him and Izuku. Their coupling clearly wasn't a happy one. He clapped the student on the shoulder, and the boy flinched. "Listen omega, I'm only going to say this once. Don't settle for an alpha just because you think you need to to make it at this school as a hero. You're better than the likes of him. There are way better people out there to be your mate and friend. You can stand on your own two feet just fine."
He left before either student could get their faculties about them.
.....
Katsuki and Izuku were on the couch watching Ochako float a giggling Katsumi in her lap when Katsuki's phone rang. Picking it up, he immediately yelled, "Kirishima, catch!" before chucking it across the common room.
"Ah man, not again," Kirishima whined as he caught the phone to answer it brightly. "Mrs. Bakugou, hi! No, he's not available right now. He's at training with All Might. Right. Yes, I know. Yeah, I'll tell him. No, I don't think he's avoiding you." He shot Katsuki a heated look before returning to the call. "He's just really busy right now with practicals and finals coming up. Yeah, I'll tell him. Okay. Bye."
Kirishima walked back to him, phone in hand. "Man, stop avoiding your mom. You're going to have to talk to her at some point."
Katsuki sneered. "Like hell I do."
"Kacchan, you still haven't talked to your parents?" Izuku asked, pinning him with an admonishing glare.
"You can't say shit to me. You haven't told your mom about Katsumi either," Katsuki spat back, standing to sit on the floor beside Ochako. He wiggled his fingers in Katsumi's face and she grabbed for them, face scrunching when she couldn't quite catch them. When he stilled long enough for her to grip his fingers, she immediately stuffed them in her mouth.
Izuku's face reddened, and he stuttered, "W-well, I'm just... waiting for the perfect moment. I don't want to tell her over the phone."
"And I don't want to wake up with a knife to my throat. I'm saving your ass too. She'll kill me, but she'll hang you outside the front door like a flag, and you know it."
Izuku groaned, but didn't protest as he dropped his face into his hands. "She's just going to be more angry the longer we wait."
Ochako sighed. "I know that Mr. Aizawa said it was your jobs to tell your parents about this since you're 'adults' -loosely defined- but this is honestly a childish way to go about it. You can't hide this from her forever. She already knows you're hiding something. You need to stop hiding, and get this over with."
"Give me back my baby," Katsuki growled without much heat.
"No, she's having fun," Ochako retorted, smacking away his other hand as it reached for Katsumi, "Anyway, just meet them at the mall or something. Take All Might with you to run interference or explain or something. Just get it over with. We have some time coming up, and you should tell them before we're completely swamped."
"We're already swamped."
"Bakugou-" Ochako started.
Izuku cut in before she could say something that would actually make Katsuki take Katsumi upstairs. "That's a good point and a good idea. I'll talk to All Might."
Katsuki groaned loudly, but didn't protest. Silently, he just started to plan his and Izuku's joint funeral.

To Have A Villain’s Quirk
FIVE: SHORT AND SWEET
Tumblr media
The day before seemed to spark a fire, a rather large fire, in Kaida's heart. She made a new friend, attempted to save him and the school bully, and made up with her mom. She even had used her quirk in public without too much fear. She felt like she could do anything, so when the next day rolled around, Kaida felt more alive than ever.  She grinned as she got herself ready for school, looking forward to the days ahead. She needed to work as hard as she could to pass her classes, and needed to train harder to be able to pass the entrance exams for UA. She was going to be ready for it. Sure, there were about ten months before it, but Kaida planned on finding out if Midoriya wanted to study with her, or even train. Music blasted in the young girl's ears as she practically bounced to school, filled with a new reason to be happy. It seemed like everything was finally going right. But it wasn't long after the train ride, a rough hand stopped her as she entered the courtyard. Kaida flinched in response, jerking herself away as she pulled the earphone from her ear and looked at the suspect. She blinked in confusion at the lone blond who stood before her.
"B-Bakugo..?" Violet eyes glanced to the sides, looking for the lackey's he usually had with him but, luckily, didn't see them.
"Look, Red. Don't go getting a big head just 'cause you think you helped yesterday. You didn't. You and Deku didn't do shit. Just 'cause you happen to have a quirk, you're still the same weakling you've always been. S'not like you use it enough to be good anyways. So, get this through your head. You're nothing." He spoke through clenched teeth, staring down his nose at her. Yeah, it intimidated her, and she felt like she was an inch compared to him. Eyes cast down, she nodded as he started turning around.
"I...I know that.. Trust me." It was soft, but didn't go unheard. Looked like her happiness wasn't turning around. There was always going to be something to bring her down. Keeping her eyes down, she quickly moved past him and into the building. Normally, the gossiping, and the names didn't bother her, but maybe it was because no one ever said it to her face. So, with Bakugo straight up telling her just how worthless she was made her want to cry and just go home. Why did he have to be such a jerk? She sniffled as she walked through the halls, lip trembling as she bit back the tears that threatened to spill. It just wasn't fair. She never did anything to him to warrant being treated like that, so why? Just because it made him feel better about himself?
"Hiyama!" She jumped at her name being shouted down the hall, her quickly looking up at the green haired boy who waved at her. He had a welcoming smile on his face, patiently waiting for his friend to join him to walk with him the rest of the way to class. She pushed her negative feelings aside and forced a small smile on her face, walking up to the boy.
    "Midoriya, how are you?"
"Ah, I'm alright. Still kinda shaken up about yesterday, to be honest. What about you?"
"I'm.. okay. Um.." She cut herself off, Midoriya looking at her curiously as they wove their way through everyone.
"Hm?" Kaida glanced at him before looking at their surroundings, making sure a certain blond boy wasn't around them.
"D-did Bakugo yell at you for trying to help?" The boy blinked before letting out a dry laugh.
"Hah, yeah. But that's just Kacchan..He's just.."
    "Prideful."
"..Yeah. Yeah, that's one way to put it."
Silence fell between them as they continued walking, Bakugo's talks with them bringing them back down. As they entered the classroom and took their seats, Kaida remembered what she thought of this morning. "Oh! I almost forgot. I wanted to ask you, since we both need to try really hard for the finals and the entrance exams, w-would you like to study together? Or train together? I wouldn't mind helping out. I need to get better, too. But if you don't want to, it's okay.." She stopped herself before she could ramble too much. Izuku tilted his head at her as she spoke, sitting sideways in his seat to look at her better.
"Ah! Really? Th-that'd be great! Oh! I actually have someone training me though, um, we could still study though. I know I'm gonna need all the help I can get."
"You and me both!" They both laughed as the bell rang, nodding to each other as they both turned to the board. Out of the corner of her eye, Kaida could see the human bomb himself watching the two of them. This was going to be a long ten months.
                                                                     *
So, the next ten months began, and between school and her own training, she was also studying with Midoriya. She also made sure she had put in for her quirk change, letting them know the extent of her powers as they asked their many questions. Kaida often saw Midoriya dozing in class but doing his best to stay awake. She often kicked his chair to snap him out of his thoughts when she thought he was getting too out of it, he'd usually turn around with a thankful smile before focusing again. She could tell how hard he was working, which made her want to work harder. So, after studying with him, she began training harder and longer everyday, often losing sleep to do her own workouts. She was beginning to eat and require more flesh, which her mother began noticing, occasionally scolding the girl when she was outside for too long, or working herself too hard. The months were grueling as she pushed herself, her and Midoriya still only seeing each other at school, though they had exchanged numbers a few days after the sludge incident. They didn't talk much unless it was about studying or the workout regimes they had, and if the other had any pointers. They had their normal conversations, and Kaida wondered if she would ever tell him about her quirk and what it really does. Of course, they were too busy to really worry about any other stuff. They hadn't heard much from Bakugo over the months, either. Which didn't surprise her. He was probably busy, too. But after the sludge incident, it almost seemed like he was threatened by them. She was probably wrong, but she couldn't help but wonder.
Of course, Kaida noticed that the poor boy was slowly getting sick, and she did her best to scold him to slow down. He only waved it off with a weak smile. But over the next few days, he was slowly but surely getting better, which made them both happy. Their studying was definitely helping them in class, and they both could see the physical difference in the other with just how hard they've been working. Midoriya might've been doing this so he could become the hero he's always wanted to be, but Kaida was doing this for herself. To prove a point. To be a hero. They were going to make it.
                                                                     *
February 26th - Morning of the UA Entrance Exam
The person in the mirror didn't look like the same girl ten months ago. She looked older, brighter.. stronger. She had gained several pounds too, getting herself up to the desired weight she had been aiming for. Kaida was slowly becoming the person she wanted to be. She had her rinkaku under control, her hunger under control. She was in control. Closing her eyes, she let out a slow but shaky breath. Finally, she proceeded to get dressed, throwing on an extra coat as she stuffed gym clothes into her bag. She needed to hurry and meet Izuku at the train station, or they were going to be late. The young Hiyama stumbled down the stairs, trying to push down the feelings of nervousness as she fixed her uniform. Her mother looked up from her breakfast with a gentle smile.
"Oh, Kai! Are you off? There's coffee ready if you wanted some." Kaida nodded, quickly getting herself a thermos full of the black liquid. She glanced at her mom before quickly stealing a few of the left over pieces of food she could eat, putting them into a small lunch bag to eat before the exams. She needed to have all of her energy. Plus, for some after.
"Thanks, mom! I gotta go!" She started out the door before pausing, doubling back. "Oh! I'm catching up with Izuku after school, so I'll be home an hour late or so!" She didn't wait for her moms answer as she darted out the door. Pedestrians quickly sidestepped out of the young girls way, her apologizing as she passed them by. Her heart raced in her chest at the thought of the exam just being an hour away. It was so exciting! She came up on the station, weaving her way around the people waiting for the next train, spotting the messy green mop just a few feet away. "Izu~!" Over the last few months, they had come to first name bases, finally getting out of the formal stage. Of course, Midoriya still had trouble every now and again, but she didn't mind.
"Kai! You made it!" The boy snapped to attention, looking worn out but excitable for what was yet to come.
"You know I wouldn't miss it for the world. We're in this together, remember?" Kaida held out her hand, face up with a big grin forming. He grinned back, just as big, and gently slapped her hand. Their conversation took off on what they needed to expect from the tests, already trying to find out what it was going to be like and going over every single possibility they could think of. They boarded the train with hope in their eyes, taking the ride to talk about other things to help calm their nerves.
                                                                       *
"Made it just in time!" They panted out, coming to a stop from the sprint they had from the train station. They were so sure they were going to be late. As Midoriya walked on, Kaida was too busy looking around the area, falling just behind him as they walked. She heard him mumble something but she had learned just to ignore it.
"Stupid Deku." They both stopped at gravelly voice behind them, Kaida noticing how he didn't even address her. He was probably more pissed about Izuku trying than her. "Get out of my way, now, before I set you both on fire." There it was. Midoriya yelped, jumping back as he stuttered out a quick greeting. Over the months, she had been trying her best to be nice to Bakugo, but with how much Izuku was always calling him Kacchan, she had let her own version slip a few times. It was just the basic name shortening but..
    "Good morning, Katsu."
"Don't call me that." It was the same response every time. It was all he said as he walked on without them, Kaida frowning a little bit. Both Bakugo and Midoriya had come to realize that the more the girl opened up, the more they realized she just wanted to have friends, and make them happy. Obviously, Midoriya was more than happy to oblige. Bakugo, on the other hand, did his best to just ignore the girl. Even when she attempted to lighten the mood when they'd pass each other in the halls. She had a lot of demons, but she wasn't going to let them bring her down. Not when she's gotten this far.
As she was lost in her own thought, she hadn't noticed Midoriya starting to walk, not until she hard his normal scream of shock. She snapped her attention to her friend, who was joined by another girl. "Izu, are you okay?"
"Ah, I stopped you with my quirk. I'm sorry I didn't ask first. But... I figured you wouldn't mind me catching you." The brown haired girl smiled at him, before turning to Kaida. "Hah, sorry, isn't this all, like, way nerve-racking?"
"Yeah, and thanks for catching him, he's hopeless when he's lost in thought." Kaida teased, making the girl laugh while Midoriya let out an embarrassed noise in response. His poor facce was turning pink.
"No, problem! Well, guess I'll see you guys inside! Bye!" The girl walked away as she let Midoriya take in what just happened. She had come to accept that Midoriya didn't see her much as a female, but as someone who was his friend that happened to be a girl. As odd as that sounded. She knew that because of their previous encounters, it was easier for them to talk to each other when they became better friends, and now that they were best friends, almost like siblings, it all came so natural to him. But with a new girl suddenly talking to him, he didn't know what to do. It just made Kaida laugh as she pulled him into the auditorium.
                                                                       *
She, Midoriya, and Bakugo all sat together during the explanation by Present Mic, her looking over her card to see she was in Battle Center C. She wouldn't be able to make sure Izuku was okay, damn. She hardly tuned into the explanation, but still caught what was going on. She glared at the boy who called out her friend but otherwise didn't say much, resting a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder. The rest of the commentary for what was to come was short and sweet, and soon, they were all sent to change and carted off to their battle centers.

Their Hero Academia – Chapter 58: An Exam Cometh!
Presenting the next raw and unedited chapter of my on-going, next-gen, My Hero Academia fic, Their Hero Academia!
Earlier chapters can be found here
There was a somewhat somber mood in the classroom as 1-A settled in Tuesday morning.  The funeral yesterday had been the cap to a long week that stretched back to the Nomu attacks and had been a roller coaster for many of them ever since.  But things looked to Isamu like they were finally getting back to normal.  The class was back together again and even if they weren’t all up to their usual selves, they were getting there.  Even Shinso had been in a slightly cheerier mood last night, joining him and Midoriya for a few rounds of Smash Fighters 3000 in Midoriya’s room.
The room fell into a hushed silence as Aizawa entered.  They knew by this point not to screw around once he was there.  Well, most of them did.  He was pretty sure Mineta and Sero hadn’t gotten the same message as everybody else.
Aizawa stood at his podium for a moment before speaking.  “Only three seconds to quiet down.  An improvement.”   His eyes swept the room and his face relaxed a fraction of a centimeter.  “I know your Internship experiences were harrowing, but I’ve also had the opportunity to review the feedback your mentors provided, and you all acquitted yourselves well, even in the face of some concerns over discipline.”   There was a glance reserved for Mineta and Sero again at that.
“However, that does not change the fact that your final exams will be in two weeks.  Your subject exams will be the Monday through Thursday of that week, with the practical Heroics exam on Friday.”
That wasn’t a surprise, really.  The dates for final exams had been in the syllabus on the first day of class.  But that seemed like both yesterday and a lifetime ago.  There was the phrase “time flies when you’re having fun”, but had the term really been fun? It seemed like much of it had been long moments of calm split by absolute and total panic.
Then again, in the time since that first day, he’d made friends, won the Sports Festival, interned with Deku, seen a monster, gotten a girlfriend…
Yeah, okay, there was some fun there.
Up in the front row, he saw Izumi raise her hand.  Once Aizwa gave her permission to speak, she asked, “Will you be telling us any details of the exam, Sensei?” she asked.
A good question, and Isamu sat up a little straighter in his seat to listen.  Regular final exams would be difficult enough—they weren’t kidding when they said U.A. was academically rigorous!—but he couldn’t imagine what the Heroics exam would be like.
And then something happened that sent a chill up Isamu’s spine.  Aizawa… smiled.  It wasn’t a normal person’s smile, but a rictus grin, and it looked deeply unsettling on his face.  It was the smile of someone about to deliver a devastating smackdown onto a foe and take utter delight in doing it.  A shrill scream split the air.  It was Sero.
“Dude,” Sato said, “what was that?”
“He’s smiling!” Sero wailed. “We’re doomed!  Dooooomed!”
“I’m too young to die!” Kaminari wailed.
“I’m too hot to die!” Mineta shrieked, joining in the wailing.
Even Midoriya, in the front row, seemed afraid.  “Oh no, oh no, oh no, not good!”
Isamu felt his own heartbeat quicken, but he took a look to the opposite end of the row to decide what was the most appropriate reaction.  Kirishima-Bakugo looked deadly serious, as opposed to her usual pissed off. And even she seemed slightly ill at ease at the prospects hidden behind that smile.
“Funny you should ask, Todoroki,” Aizawa said.  “You all did an impressive job working together during the Sports Festival.  I don’t know which one of you came up with it, but it was impressive tactical thinking.  And since you all like working together, the teachers decided to change up some of the conditions of the Heroics exam.”
There was a mad glint in their teacher’s eyes now.  “Either you all pass… or no one does.”
***
That night, Class 1-A gathered in the Common Room.  As usual, Isamu sat on one of the couches with Shinso, Izumi, and Sora Iida.   Midoriya and Tokoyami were at the front of their room, with a whiteboard.  One of the other couches was occupied by Sero, Sato, Ojiro, and Tensei Iida. A third couch was occupied by Aoyama, Koda, Shoji, with Aoyama looking rather small compared to his two classmates. Mineta and Kaminari had pulled up chairs, while Kirishima-Bakugo stood behind the couch Isamu and the others were on, together with the class, but apart as always.
Most of them were chatting away, while Midoriya and Tokoyami, the Class Representatives (Yeah, that was definitely not a job he wanted.) tried to get everyone’s attention, unsuccessfully.  “Hey!” Shinso shouted, putting just a little something into his voice to make it echo and pierce the noise.   “Toshi and Asuka are trying to talk!”
That got everyone to quiet down.
“Sorry Mom and Dad,” Sero said.   That got a laugh out of several people, until Kirishima-Bakugo moved to behind him and gave him a smack upside the head.
“Thank you, Shota,” Asuka said.   Frog-Shadow was out again, sitting on her shoulder.  “So we’ve got two things to discuss.  The first is the formation of study groups for the subject area final exams. Math, Science, Literature, History, Science, and English.”
“We’re hoping to have someone who’s doing well in each class lead some study sessions or make themselves available to answer questions,” Midoriya said.
“We’re all going to die,” Ojiro wailed.
“Kimmie, it’s not that bad,” Sato tried to reassure her.
“This is just going to tank my grades, Kenta!”
“They couldn’t be any worse than mine, Kimmie,” Sero said, grinning.
She punched him in the arm. “That’s not something to be proud of, Takuma!”
“Hey, leave him alone,” Kaminari said.  “He’s the only person who’s grades are worse than mine!”
“See,” Sero said, “when it comes to being the worse, I’m the best!”
Both of the Iida twins thrust their hands into the air.   “We volunteer for science and math!” Sora Iida said.
Midoriya flushed a little at that.  “Ah, actually, Sora, I was thinking maybe not you?  Not that you aren’t smart!  But, ah, you’re both a lot smarter than most of us. I don’t know if you could dumb it down?”
The hands went down. “That is… acceptable,” Sora said.
“We would not wish to hinder anyone’s progress,” Tensei agreed.  “And we do have additional Support Class projects to complete.”
Reluctantly, Isamu put his hand up.  “I can probably handle science,” he said.  “It was mostly physics this term.  I’m good at that.”  He had to be, thanks to his Quirk.  Knowing how much force to apply and where it was going to send him flying and how much he needed to break at a certain speed was vital.
“Excellent, thank you,” Tokoyami said.  She handed her marker to Frog-Shadow, who looked at it curiously.   “If you’d write that down?”
“Why me?”
“Because you asked to be more involved,” she replied, rolling her eyes.
“Oh, right!” Frog-Shadow bubbled, before flying off to write his name down.
Mineta stuck a hand in the air.  “I can take English,” she said.  “Vocab and translations, anyway.  Grammar’s still a little weird.”
“I guess that works,” Midoriya said, though he didn’t look like he believed it.  “Just… be on your best behavior, okay?”
“When am I not?”
“If that’s your best behavior, Horse-Girl, I’d hate to see you worst,” Kirishima-Bakugo growled.
“Allow me to provide what Mineta cannot,” Aoyama said.  He looked pretty smug about it.  Of course, everyone knew that he and Mineta didn’t get along. He was probably relishing an opportunity to show her up in something.  “I am reasonably trilingual, after all, n'est-ce pas?”
“And I can take History,” Izumi volunteered.
“Great!” Midoriya said. “Now we’re getting somewhere…”
***
Eventually, they came back around to the subject of the Heroics final exam.  Midoriya cleared his throat and looked a little red from embarrassment.   “So, this is probably my fault, guys.  The whole Sports Festival thing was my plan.  Sorry I got us into this mess….”
“Oh, bullshit,” Kirishima-Bakugo said, causing all eyes to fall on her and Isamu to jump.  “Maybe you threw some gas on the fire, Toshi, but you have to know Aizawa was planning something like this.  Him and his “logical ruses.’”   She crossed her arms and nodded, as if that explained everything.
“She does have a point, Toshi,” Izumi said.
“She does?” Midoriya asked, surprised.  Then he looked over at Kirishima-Bakugo, who was glaring at him.  “She does!”
“You couldn’t have known,” Isamu said.  “And it was a good plan.  I don’t know if I’d have won if you hadn’t gotten us that far.” If he’d had to race and fight at the same time, without Mineta watching his back (making innuendos the whole way), he doubted he would have done half as well.
But it wasn’t surprising that Midoriya thought it was his fault.  The guy always seemed to fall into a pattern of trying to take care of all of them, which meant he was just as likely to try and shoulder all the blame.
“None of us blame you, Toshi,” Tokoyami insisted.
“Besides,” Isamu offered, “I talked to Kana over in 1-B…”
He was interrupted by Ojiro. “Did you hear that?  He’s using her first name now!  Squeeee!  They’re getting closer!”
Okay, he was going to pretend he didn’t hear that.  He really didn’t need to end up the topic of conversation on her web show.  “As I was saying, I was talking to Kana and she says Super-Ball told 1-B the same thing.  Only not as scary as Aizawa was.  They’re pass or fail as a group too.  She said Super-Ball said it was about building up their teamwork skills.”
“My friend, Mizuno, from 1-C said much the same thing,” Koda said.  “Battle-Fist also emphasized the need for better teamwork.”
“Looks like you sparked a revolution, Midoriya,” Sero said, only to be silenced by a smack from Ojiro.
“Okay,” Midoriya said, nodding, taking a couple breaths to steady himself.  “So sounds like it was something they were going to do anyway. Not my fault.  Good.  Then if the Heroics exam is going to be a pass/fail for everyone, we’re going to need a plan.”
“How are we going to do that?” Shoji asked.  “We don’t know what form the exam will take.”
Midoriya nodded again, now in his element when a plan was required.  “We don’t,” he agreed.  “But we do know, whatever it is, it’s going to require us to work together and it’s going to be bigger than anything we’ve had tossed at us before now.  That’s the only reasonable extrapolation of the pass/fail condition.”
“So that means,” he went on, “we need to train like we’ve never trained before.  Until anybody here can work with anybody else.
“Right now,” Toshi finished, “it doesn’t matter who your best friend is.”   He looked over at Sero, Ojiro, and Sato.   “It doesn’t matter who you don’t get along with.” This look was given to Aoyama and Mineta.  “Or how mad everyone might make you.”  A look went out to Kirishima-Bakugo.
“Right now, we’re all in this together.  We’re Class 1-A and we need to come together.”
Shinso let out a cheer and a clap.   Even Isamu had to admit, he felt pretty inspired.
“Fancy speech, Toshi,” Kirishima-Bakugo said.  “But you got a real plan to back it up?”
Midoriya looked a bit deflated at that.  “Not entirely,” he admitted.  “But Asuka and I were going to discuss some likely scenarios.  If you want to help, you’re more than welcome.”
“Damn straight, I will. I’m not letting any of you pull me down with you.  We’re gonna pass even if I have to kick your asses every inch of the way.”
Midoriya’s confidence returned.  Even Isamu knew this was just her way.  “Well, you heard her, people.  We’re going to pass!”
Somehow, this became a rallying cry.
“We’re going to pass!   PLUS UTLRA!”

Izumi’s room always reminded Chihiro of the fact that while she was extremely well off, Izumi’s family was so rich it practically made the word useless.  There was a four poster bed, an ornate oak desk, wood paneling added to all the walls… even the desk lamp looked like it cost way more than things like that should.  “Don’t touch anything,” she warned Mika.
Mika shot her a dirty look. “I’m not a child, Chi.”
“You’re not always graceful, Mika.  Like a bull in a china shop.”
“That’s hurtful.  And possibly racist”
Chihiro facepalmed at that.   “I’d like to apologize for her in advance,” she said.
“Please, do not worry about it,” Izumi said, standing as they entered.  “May I offer you tea and sweets?”   She indicated the tea tray and plate she had already laid out.
After she and Mika had accepted Izumi’s offering, all three took seats.   “So what’s up?” Chihiro asked.   Izumi asking to talk to her was one thing; they were good friends.  But other than when she was around, Mika and Izumi didn’t usually have too much to do with one another.
“I need your help,”
Okay, add that to the list of things she never thought she’d hear.  “I’m guessing not with homework or anything?” Chihiro said.   “Because that’s definitely not me.”   Izumi was way towards the front of the class anyway.   So was Mika, for that matter.   She belatedly realized she was the dumbest person in the room.   On the other hand, she might still win the medal for most common sense.
“Not homework,” Izumi assured her.  “The matter is more personal.”
“Is this about a guy? Or a girl?” Mika asked.  “Because I was ninety-nine percent sure you didn’t go for that.”
Startled at her friend’s abruptness, Chihiro smacked her upside the head with one of her Cords.  “Don’t be crude.”
Izumi, fortunately, took it all in stride.  “You are correct that I do not “go for that.’”
Huh.   Chihiro had always known that Izumi hadn’t displayed much interest in anyone, but given that her other best friend was interested in everyone, she’d figured it was just less interest, not none.  How had she been that clueless?
“So what do you need?” Chihiro asked.
Izumi closed her eyes for a moment and took a breath.  When she opened them, she looked as serious as Chihiro had ever seen her.  “I need to find my grandfather.”
“What happened?” Mika asked. “Was there a big tax scandal?  Is Grandpa Yaoyorozu hiding out from the feds in the tropics?”
“No,” Izumi said.  “Not him.  My grandfather on my father’s side.”
“Endeavor?” Chihiro asked. “Why?”   A thought occurred to her, something that had come up during her Internship with Aunt Momo. “Wait, does this have anything to do with Plague?”
Next to her, Mika had pulled out her phone, but right now, her friend’s rudeness wasn’t her biggest concern.
Izumi’s eyes went wide. “How do you know that name?”
“Daddy called Aunt Momo. Said you’d found out about somebody with that name.”
Izumi took another moment to collect her thoughts.  "What I am about to tell you cannot leave this room."
"Izumi, you're scaring me."  Her friend was never this intense.  Whatever it was, this all had to be deadly serious.
Izumi locked eyes with her. "Promise me, Chihiro."
Chihiro was worried now, but kept eye contact. "Okay. I promise."
"Do you remember when I was sick?"
That did very little to narrow it down.  Izumi had had plenty of health issues over the years.  Chihiro had visited her in the hospital countless times.  "You're going to need to specify, Izumi. You've been sick a lot."
"The time I was very sick.  The time that really started it all."
Oh yeah.  That one.  Chihiro looked at the floor.  "I remember."
Izumi sighed.  "During my internship, Uncle Denki let it slip that there was possibly something more... complicated behind it."
Daddy was in on whatever this was?  "Complicated? How?"
"Complicated, as it was the implied that it was a villain, this “Plague,” who got me sick."
“Okay,” Chihiro said, her head spinning as she tried to make sense of it.  Nervously, she tapped the ends of her Cords together.  “Okay, did you talk to your parents about this?”
Izumi shook her head. "I did not. After the Nomu attacks, Mother and Father...they wanted to pull me from the school.  I exhausted myself.  Again."
Of course they did. She knew it was ongoing drama with Izumi and her parents.
Before she could speak, Izumi held up her hand. "I managed to talk them down. For now. Part of me suspects that at the next big incident, the next time I falter, they'll try again. That's why I didn't ask them. I couldn't. I didn't want to bring up the pain they went through again."
Izumi pointed to a plush rabbit on her bed, one which looked fairly new.  “I am certain he visited me in the hospital.  Things are… becoming complicated.”
Izumi inhaled deeply before continuing. "I've been thinking a lot since then. I've been remembering things. Things I thought I forgot. I want to find out what happened to me, but I can't go to my parents. I can't go to anyone, not your father, not Uncle Deku, no one, because they'll go to my parents. I know I can count on you to keep my secrets, both of you.
“I cannot burden Katsumi with this.  She has enough to carry right now without carrying me as well.  You don't have to help if you don't want to get in trouble-"
“Found him,” Mika said, looking up from her phone.
“…How the hell did you do that?” Chihiro asked.  It could not possibly have been that easy.
“Daddy never changes his login ID or password for anything,” Mika said.  “I just used one of the databases available to Heroes to look up an address.  It’s not even that far.”
Chihiro just stared.  “Every time I think I’ve got you figured out…”
Izumi looked equally startled, worried, and pleased.  “Thank you, Mineta,” she said, quietly.
Mika shrugged.  “Hey, what’re friends for?”
***
Normally, Toshi did his morning jog with Katsumi, sometimes joined by Kana Tetsutetsu.  He’d also occasionally convinced Haimawari to join them, though that was fairly rare.  But this morning, he was alone.   Katsumi had begged off for wanting to focus on weight training instead and Tetsutetsu was apparently busy with some emergency in her dorm, according to her text.
Which was fine.  He could be alone with his thoughts.   Like the thought that he didn’t have idea one what they were getting into with the exam and it would definitely be his fault if they all failed, bringing shame upon the Midoriya name and leading to Sora dumping him and Katsumi killing him.
Well.  That had escalated quickly.
“Mi… Midoriya!” The sound of his name drew him out of his panic.  It came with labored breathing and he came to a stop, turning and seeing Shiro Monoma, dressed in workout clothes, running up behind him.  Monoma’s not out of shape, but it’s a wiry build, more suited to agility and gymnastics, than Toshi’s more muscular one.
“What’s up, Monoma?” he asked.  Monoma hadn’t done anything antagonistic yet, which was a good sign.  In fact, Toshi couldn’t remember seeing him at all during the past week, or even hearing him, which was even stranger.  He didn’t have the same extreme dislike for the other boy that Katsumi did, but he would hardly say they were on friendly terms, even though they were neighbors.  Honestly, he mostly did his best to ignore Monoma’s jabs at the class.
“I need to talk to you about the exam,” Monoma said.
“I don’t know what they’re going to do any more than you do,” Toshi told him.  “I can make a few educated guesses though, based on our Heroics classes and all though.  Happy to talk, if you want.”
He stole a glance at his watch.  “Can we run though?  I want to get this in before classes and my heart rate’s already dropping.”
Monoma looked rather pained by the prospect, but nodded.  “Okay.”
Since he wasn’t completely unfeeling, Toshi did tone his run down to something slightly less than his usual, letting Monoma keep up.  “So like I said, I don’t really know, but I can guess.  Got to be something large scale, if they’re going to be able to score all of us on it.  And that means something with a lot of different moving parts.  Probably Villains to fight, people to rescue, maybe something to find like a bomb…”
Monoma was, to his credit, keeping up with Toshi, though he looked like he was pushing himself a bit to do it.  “That’s… good thinking…,” he said, between breaths.  “But not what I wanted to ask about.”
“Then what?” Toshi asked.
“I need to know,” Monoma said, with such seriousness that it took Toshi aback for a moment.  “how you got… everyone to work… together.”
Toshi took pity on him and slowed down a little more.  “Everyone. Teamwork from the get go.  How do you get them to follow you like that?  How did you get all those different personalities to work together like that?”
Shiro’s voice turned bitter. “I try and I try to make everyone better.  I want them to succeed, I really do.  But no one listens to me.  I can’t… Hardly any of my class made it through the final round.  And I got lucky as it was.  I’m worried about them and the final exam.”
“Them?” Toshi asked. His phrasing there was odd. “Them,” he’d said.  Not “us”.
Monoma frowned.  “I had hoped to keep this a secret.  Almost no one knows about this.  But I’m leaving once this term is over.   I’m not cut out for this.   But with how the exam is going to work…  I can’t cost them their futures just because mine’s going to be something else.”
Toshi couldn’t keep the surprise off his face, but fortunately, Monoma wasn’t looking at him to see it. “You’re…” he began.  He actually came to a stop.  Running was a good way to lose himself, and he needed all his wits now.
“I am,” Monoma said, finishing the thought for him.  He bent half off, breathing hard.  He righted himself after a few breaths.  “Don’t try to talk me out of it.”
Now Toshi frowned, but he nodded.  “Not my place to do that.  But I think it’s a mistake.”
Monoma shook his head. “It’s not.  But what about my class?  And what about the exam?”  There was a moment of silence, and then, “Please.  I can’t let failure be my entire legacy here.”
If he lived long enough to become the new Number One Hero, Toshi never would have thought he’d have heard Monoma talk like this.  Usually, the blond boy was full of bravado and confidence, always trying to prove his class’s superiority over 1-A.   And to be fair, 1-A contained the children of a large number of highly ranked Heroes, something that few of Class 1-B could claim.  None of their parents were low ranked, but there was a certain degree of disparity there.  And a much larger portion of Class 1-B had no Hero parents at all.
“Okay, the first thing you have to remember,” Toshi told him, “is that we’re almost all childhood friends.  Some of us more than others and in some different combinations… but we grew up together.  Our parents are close and they passed that onto us.  Trust’s easy that way.”
Given that his parent’s Class A had gone through hell together over three years in a way that their contemporary Class B hadn’t, it was easy to see where stronger bonds might have been forged.
Monoma nodded.  “My father’s class drifted more during the years. Kana is the only one I was anything close to growing up, along with Mika and Akaya.”
“The other big thing is… Look.  My dad’s the Number One Hero.  I wanted to do the best I could, but the Sports Festival was never about winning for me.”   And sure, he’d managed to share third place with Kocho.  He was proud of his accomplishments, and he’d gone in intending to give it his all, but it hadn’t been his main goal.  Toshi would have been just as happy not to have placed, if it meant other of his friends did.
“So I went in it from the start doing it for them.  And they knew that, so they went along with it.  It wasn’t even about beating your class or anybody else in the race; I just wanted to make sure everybody had the best chance they could.  Somebody like Ojiro or Sato would have had a real hard time doing that in the obstacle course.  So I asked everybody to take a step back now so that they could all have something later.”
It hadn’t quite been as easy as he made it sound.  Convincing Aoyama had been one of the most difficult parts, but the promise of future glories had eventually been enough.
Monoma looked as though he’d been punched.   “…Shit.” His expression devolved further, becoming truly miserable.  “During the Sports Festival, I was so concerned with… things turning out a certain way, I pushed for flare and making a splash.  And not all of them even made it past the Obstacle Course.  Maybe I really do drag them down.  Maybe she was right.”
Toshi frowned.  This was turning pretty dark on him.  And he wasn’t sure who “she” was.  “Look,” he said.  “You want what’s best for them.  That’s admirable.  But if you go so hard on trying to show somebody up, then that’s all you’re going to see.  That’s what Endeavor did for a long time, and you know what happened to him.”
Monoma sighed, then nodded. “Then I am more certain than ever I’ve made the right choice.  But at least I know what I can do for them to help everyone else pass.  Thank you, Midoriya.”
As Monoma left, Toshi wasn’t certain at all that he’d said the right things there.  It certainly didn’t seem like a victory.

In the teacher’s lounge, Aizawa looked over the finalized draft of the Heroics practical exam. Talking All Might into it had been difficult, but worth it.  He’d staked his job and reputation on it, but he believed the results would be worth it.
His students, all the students, were talented.  But even with recent events, what they needed was a stark dose of reality to push them further along their paths.
He looked at the profiles spread out in front of him.  The people he’d found would be just the ones to do it.
