Helena "I am a person. You are not" Eagan being treated very much NOT like a person by her own father. She is an object. She is a tool.
Mark S. wants Helly, so they must give him Helly, but Helly doesn't exist outside of Helena's body, and yet Helena is not wanted or needed by anyone, it's only Helly that is loved or wanted or needed by others. "We must give him her not you, it can never be you, she might have your face, but it's not you that he wants" - does it hurt, Helena? DOES IT HURT? I BET IT DOES.
The look on her face, this sinking feeling, as she realises that here her opinion is insignificant, and her existence is pointless, if she is not blindly following the cause. She might as well be dead, because she is basically an empty casket that will be used to bring Helly back to life.
"The Board appreciates your sacrifice", as Helena descends into her personal Hell. Somebody sedate me.

The Jess episodes in Season 6 are SO gratifying (for those of us who, like Rory, would say, "I KNEW you could do something like this! I KNEW it, I knew it!") but at the same time SO FRUSTRATING, because everything about the way they were written suggests that they were making deliberate comparisons between Jess and Logan- comparisons in which Logan doesn't come off particularly well. Like they went to great pains to imply that: Jess knew Rory better than Logan (the birthday subplot), was better FOR her, was more mature, loyal, freaking noble, etc. etc... And then they just... never went anywhere with it! Logan jumps off a cliff and Rory feels guilty, and... The whole plotline gets dropped and they never talk about it again! It really freaking seemed like they were making a point, but WHAT WAS THE FREAKING POINT??? *flips a table!*

"How will they convince people of Mike's feelings" my guy literally all they have to do is have them have a normal conversation then linger looking at each other for just a little too long afterwards.
[elaboration but you can stop here if you should be asleep right now. Yes, you. I caught you. Go to bed.]
It's platonic to look at your friends, and even look at them when they aren't looking, but it is notoriously not platonic for a TV show to SHOW us.
That is literally ALL they did in season 4 with Will btw and you believe him. He literally just looked at Mike. He said a couple of coded things but I would argue still quite deniable until that talk in the junkyard got more specific. The bulk of the weight being pulled was - not even lingering looks, just lingering ON looks. Lingering the shot.
In the sweetest way - and including myself - audiences are dumb. We don't need much, really. Boy look at boy too long when he not looking equal romance. Telling love stories actually is not complicated AT ALL.

really i think relying on a multibillion dollar gaming company and streaming platform to be able to effectively produce anti-establishment art with any sort of internal consistency or resolve is one of those "losing to a dog in poker" situations. you walked into that one. it just so happens that i also think everything in the show unrelated to that was mid as hell too

I was trying to figure out why I don't trust Luka kovac from ER and at first I thought it was just because the actor was the BigBad in Timeless (a show I've seen once and liked but I haven't seen in years) it's where I originally recognized him from. This made sense to me. He was a BigBad villain in that show.
But I'm rewatching leverage for the first time in a couple years. And he's played by the same actor as DAMIEN FUCKING MONROE ??
No wonder I hate him. He made Eliot Spencer do the worst things he's ever done in his life. LUKA? And I have to watch him be happy with Abby? It should have been Carter. Tbh
No.

Imagine a medieval!AU where Princess!reader is betrothed to King Macmillan. He's cold and distant to you and the only one who seems to show you the slightest sympathy is Sir Ojomo the knight tasked with your safety. He's the one taking you to all your dress fittings, he's the one who listens as you complain that your betrothed seems too busy with the Captain of the guards to even speak with you. That pesky man always glued by the kings side.
Sir Ojomo knows something you don't and he hates the king for it. The king will never love you no matter how much he tries, but this marriage will always be one of convenience and politics. You will produce his heir, but once a son is born he will likely never touch you again.
Though what Phillip hates the most is how he finds himself craving the company of the future queen. He hates how his mind is filled your laughs and corny jokes. He hates that when he closes his eyes at night his dreams are filled with nothing but your naked form and the way it would look glowing under the moonlight. He is a traitor to the crown for even having these dreams. For having these visions of the woman who belongs to his dearest friend the king.

okay so if s2 is adolescence-- growing apart from your parents, deciding what you think is important, losing focus and having a consensual workplace relationship, etc. -- reintegration is an example of the expectations placed upon the innies and a complication in their quest for autonomy. mark wanting helly (or who he thinks is helly), pursuing her, beginning to take his eyes off the goal-- only to be sorely reminded while he's vulnerable, pushing gemma back into his sights. with her image comes guilt. comes a reminder of everything placed on him. comes a reminder of where he came from, who he is. (very disney channel "it's not my dream, it's yours.") adolescence is about figuring out who you are and asserting your individuality. reintegration is taking that all back. reminding the innies of their obligations as severed employees, as children. to do what their parents tell them to-- go to work and don't complain.

I’ll give the beast machines designs this much:
something about Megatron going from an overall purple color scheme to a blue one makes the part of my brain obsessed with color coordination very happy (ignoring when he turned into a bright red dragon for the last few eps lol)
