Fics Still Missing part 3
~*~
These fics are still missing!
~*~
1. Hello, looking for a fic where LWJ comes to Burial Mounds and WWX & he get into a fight. It’s pretty brutal, and at some point A-Yuan arrives and is in danger so LWJ protects him getting stabbed in the progress. I think it was a fix-it au.The fic is during burial mounds settlement days. I think during the fight WWX doesn’t fight LWJ personally but calls many many corpses to do it for him. #2 of post

2. Hi! I’m looking for a fic where wangxian are both bored with their (separate) sex lives and decide to have roleplay sex with each other to liven things up. The first time they do this they pretend to be strangers in a bar. There was also one that time that was god/worshipper roleplay. It was multi chapter with each roleplay in separate chapters. Thank you so much for the help! #6 of post

3. Hey! I was looking for a LXC x Oc, the oc was a jin who is like what people say dumb and the summer is something along the lines “The new madam Lan got pregnant and is craving for the bunny” I forgot the whole summery but it was like that. Anyways turns out she was actually quite smart. #17 of post

4. Hey! Can anyone please help me find the fic on ao3 where Lwj and wwx went to catch water ghouls and when lwj carried him out he performed a mouth to mouth on wwx which wwx he performed on other disciples too and wwx gets jealoused. And I guess they were betrothed so Can anyone please help? I lost it when I was reading. #11 of post

5. There is a fic where the spirit/ghost/memories of one of the Lan sect founders possess each sect leader in turn through a ritual, and Lan Qiren and Lan Wanji figure it out because they don’t want to lose Lan Xichen. I can’t find it, please help! It was dark and angsty and probably AO3. @/artemisdax  #13 of post

6. Hello! I don’t remember much of the fic, but I do remember that it was a “watching the series” fic and that it featured CQL’s interpretation of Nightless City, wherein the cultivators were killing each other, and Sizhui was Very Not Happy. Sorry it’s so vague! #17 of post
FOUND? Song of Joy and Regrets by HelloKitten (Not Rated, 134k, wangxian, hualian, WIP, TGCF, Angst, Self-Harm, Child Abuse, characters watching their series, Time Travel Fix-it) The relevant passage is part of chapter 6, but it's a fairly brief mention and shows reactions from the entire junior quartet

7. Hello! Please help in finding this fic. I don’t remember if I read it on ao3 or Twitter. But it was a fic where wwx came back into mxy body and he immediately was getting married to lwj. It was abo I think. And I distinctly remember that there was some ritual which required jin zixuan and lan xichen to approach wwx and lwj kept growling and getting worked up about it? He ended up calming down when wwx touched him. I think wwx was wearing a long veil. #14 of post
hi this is the anon from the most recent ficfinder #14. unfortunately it isn’t that fic. I remember that it is in canon setting so no modern au. also idk if this is helpful but wwx woke in mxy body literally moments before the weeding. jzx was approaching as mxy brother and lxc as lwjs brother for a part during the wedding ceremony and it made lwj growl and they were all trying to cover it up cause it was a loss of control for lwj and wasn’t supposed to happen. idk it the extra details will help

8. Hi! Hope you’re doing well. I was searching for a fic where most of the characters got engaged at a young age and one of the pairings is huaisang/wen xu? WRH agreed for amusement at first and like later tries to reverse it during their Cloud Recesses years. I think most of  their parents were alive also? Thanks <3 #2 of post

9. Hi! I’m not sure if I am doing this right…so I apologize if I am not. I am asking about a fic that people on reddit are looking for. I KNOW I read it and enjoyed it but I cannot seem to find it again. I told everyone I would try to track it down for them! Here are the detailsLWJ works for a company who’s trying to reach WWX. He has to drive out there to try to get his help, but oh no! There’s a storm, so LWJ has to spend the night, and there’s only one bed.LWJ is a specialist called in by the company when they couldn’t figure it out themselves, and he knew this code, he recognized the touch. But he wasn’t going to tell them, since some of it skirted legality and he knew that his old schoolmate WWX still had enemies who would love to blame him for any flaws in the system, so he had to go find him himself @/deeper-ground #4 of post

10. Hallo! I’m looking for a fic in which the juniors are told a suger-coated version of the past and then in some way find out about the truth. (Unsure if this was a fic finder or ITMF, please let me know if I am wrong and I will move it ^^ - Mod C) #12 of post

11. Hello, I’m looking for a fic where wwx does not want to date guys who are not wealthy; lwj is his roomate and is in love with wwx but he thinks he doesn’t have a chance because he is hiding he’s very rich and fakes being almost poor (he even hides his credit card for emergencies). I think wwx also liked him but didn’t want to try anything because he thinks lwj is poor. Thank for your help! #1 on post

12. I’ve been looking for this fic I read in passing, which isn’t my normal taste or pairing, and still can’t find it even after limiting the search options. The pairing is JC/LWJ and happens during the 13 years WWX is dead and I only remember two specifically key events that happened in said story. One was that a demonic cultivator who was really young was taken into Lan custody but took a nail from the barn he was being held in to kill himself. The other was LWJ pushed JC hard enough to hit his head on the floor and daze him?  The fic is definitely on Ao3. Any help would be nice~ @/youkaimeimi  #13 on post

13. Hi, I’m looking for a fic where the sword goes through both JYL and JC at Nightless City. WWX takes them both back to Lotus Pier and   essentially locks the place behind a barrier, but the sect itself doesn’t really mind. I think it was one chapter in a collection but I can’t be sure. #10 on post
FOUND? Chapter 2 of Cosmic by apathyinreverie (T, 10k, wangxian, JC & WWX & JYL, everyone lives au, yunmeng sibling dynamics, protective yunmeng Jiang sect, romance, smitten LWJ, oblivious WWX, powerful WWX, possessive LWJ, soft WWX, streetkid WWX, time travel fix-it, modern setting)

14. I’ve got another Fic Finder that, if answered, will fulfill a Mood/Compilation request—specifically Disabled Wangxian. This was a modern AU where we meet WWX as a young child with cerebral palsy; he had his canonical high intelligence and cheerful outgoing disposition; he signed, used a wheelchair, and loved Kirby. #4 on post

15. hi <3 i lost a fic that im pretty sure is quite popular, but i have no idea how to go about looking for it. all i remember is that a small thing changes, and then in the scene where teen lwj kneels beside wwx so they can both be punished, wwx jumps to cover him bodily, yelling something like 'no you wont hurt my lan zhan it wasnt his fault’ (?) possibly maybe it was lxc pov?? it maaaay have had something to do with time travel?? (not wwx tho).. i really dont know :D thank you!! #5 on post

16. Hiii sorry I don’t know how this works. But I am looking for this one specific fic I believe it was more than a one-shot. From what I remember was  that LWJ was obsessive and WWX was oblivious LWJ killed I think a friend of WWX at midnight at school and tried to cover up the body. A girl who WWX flirted with constantly and who LWJ threaten to stay away from WWX found him and the body at the bathroom of the school and LWJ threaten her to help him cover the body. The next thing I remember is he is stalking WWX and I believe WWX somehow ended up in LWJ’s house there is banging from the basement and LWJ is acting suspicious then he cooks food for WWX then makes a joke about the food being JC and throughout WWX stay he hears banging in the basement and he tells LWJ and he lies about it and he goes to the basement to find out that I believe it was JC who was tied up and they tried to escape but WWX stayed behind that all I can remember. thank you @/kawaiiskeletonlamphero  #17 on post

17. Hi all, sorry I have just one more request! There’s a fic I think I read at some point that had the cliff crumble as LWJ was trying to pull WWX up, and all three (inc. JC) went over, then there was potentially bickering and shenanigans in the afterlife? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you! @/katonahottinroof #2 on post

18. Hello! Thank you very much for all your hard work! I’ve been trying to find this fic for a while now. LXC comes to NMJ asking to do the whole sworn brotherhood and NMJ refuses. I believe NMJ shows LXC all the people JGY tortured and asked him how NMJ could agree to it when even his own people were hurt. Yeah, something approximately like this. The fic wasn’t too big - I believe it was a one-shot. #3 on post

19. Hi! I saw this on Twitter- it seems everyone is looking for it! It was just posted on wangxian ficfinder on Reddit- let’s see who finds it first! 😈 There was this mdzs fanfic with this plotline of : Wei Wuxian actually dies at hands of Jin Guangyao in Guanyin Temple after confessing and Lan Wangji follows, and both of them gets reincarnated as their younger selves prior to the destruction in Lotus Pier. And Lan Wangji decides to switch fate with Wei Wuxian and tries to act accordingly. Reborn Wei Wuxian who doesn’t yet know LWJ is also reborn gets confused when he was not kissed blindly this time in Phoenix Mountain and wonders why…
Things slowly start to follow a different route this time and Wei Wuxian has a guess but he is not able to find anything yet. Yiling Laozu who has his demonic cultivation methods this time without losing his core, actually ends up being sneakily possessive of the young Wangji and gets jealous to see him around all others but not himself this time! Reborn Wangji who also isn’t aware of wwx’s reincarnation vows he must not let him(wwx) go in the demonic path this time and so tries to control the Tiger seal himself, consequently having to act out of his own character and more like Wei Wuxian.
Karma runs and now it’s time for our flirty twink to drink vinegar jar regularly. I lost the fic and can’t even remember the name. Wasn’t on my device to can’t go check via history either! If anyone knows of this fic, please, please let me know!Here’s the twitter thread / 👀 Twitter thread for a fic finder! @/revellingfate / Can you help me find this fic? (Repeat of above)  No idea whether it’s a thread fic, on ao3 or whatnot but if anyone recognises it please share! A bunch of birdies are waiting for it on twitter, please and thank you @/trashbin-is-home  #4 on post

20. Hey! So can I request for a fic which is lan jingyi centric? Like I don’t remember completely but it’s like jingyi does not know that he is adopted by WangXian and like the trio go to yunmeng where Yu ziyuan and Fengmian are still alive as well as jiang Yanli and Zixuan. And like Xuanli or Fengmian teach some lantern making or stuff like that. Thank You!!! @/dazaiosamu2308  #13 on post

22. Hey, I’m looking for a fic on ao3, where JGY is very reluctant to discard people who might be useful to his plans, so he has WQ&WN&WW captured instead of killed. He has some of the Hu shunts to the same place, once of the Hu gives WW his core. XY and WQ work together to restore WN’s more precise functions. WW is told to craft a curse to kill JGS. It was more along the lines of a meta fic @/any-mouse  #20 on post

23.   I think this is part of a series, it’s about a dark yunmeng triad and  lan zhan is forced to marry wei ying. it’s from xichen’s pov and there’s  a particular scene where wwx plays this terrifying song that he says he  got from madam lan’s ghost(?) and in the end I think xichen prays at  his parents’ tablets and breaks down in tears. even if it’s deleted i  save everything, I just can’t figure out where I put it. help! @/onlyegret #7 on post

24.  Hi! Looking for a fic for a friend, actually, but she doesn’t have   spoons to ask around. She said it’s a fic where the Jiangs take wwx in   basically as spare parts for a Jiang Yanli with a chronic illness. She   assumes it was a modern AU, given the premise of organ donation and   such. 25.  Hey ho mods! I’m looking for this fic I barely remember anything about  and you are my last bit of hope. It’s pretty angst and ends soon after  LWJ fights against Lan elders infront of the cave, defending WWX. After  LWJ is defeated, the elders seal WWX inside the cave while he is still  alive. That’s all the details I have. I think it might be a reference to  Greek mythology? Or smth? The sealing bit. Thanks    #12 on post

26. hi, I’m looking for a fic that I think was part of a series.  basically dark!yunmeng triad with Sect Leader(?) Jiang Yanli forcibly   negotiating a betrothal with Lan Xichen. He can’t risk angering them but  LWJ isn’t on board until WWX plays him a very cursed song and says   something about “your mother told me” so ghost madam lan is in the   building? and at the end lan xichen breaks down in tears before his   parents'ancestral tablets. oh also, jiang cheng might have intimated he murdered lqr but I’m not 100% on that.does this still exist? and if not, does anyone know what it was called at least. @/onlyegret  #20 on post

28. Hello I’m sorry if this is very vague but there was this fic i read that was along the lines of Genius WWX where he fought the Lan’s swordmaster in a spar in Cloud Recesses Arc and ended up getting severely injured but when he woke up in the infirmary, he was told that he was the closest to ever actually beat the man because no one has ever fought against him for so long. Thank you very much and have a nice day! #14 on post

29. Hi! Please help me find this fic. It’s premise is that the lan head ribbon can only be unknotted by their fated person. WY unties lz’s ribbon accidentally and they are made to marry each other. Accidental marriage, i guess. I think xicheng was also said to be a pairing but I’m not too sure. That’s all i can remember. #15 on post
Hi, i’m the anon who requested #15 here. Sadly “the world passes by but for me there is only you” by beeswaxing is not the fic that i was looking for. Other details i could remember now is that they are made to marry by the lan sect itself and that it is canon divergence before core removal.

30. Hi! I remember a fic I read at least a year ago, if not two. I remember these few things about it.
- It is not a modern au. Pretty sure it was still the “period” verse.
- Lan Wangji falls to a coma for some reason, and Wei Wuxian and Wen Qing (only 80% her it was her and not some other random doctor) work on bringing him back.
- Lan Wangji keeps dreaming of him meeting WWX at a dreamscape lotus pier, and WWX keeps getting away or smth like that
- The most memorable part is it mentioning how WWX cares for the body of a comatose patient and all the not so pleasant things that entail the task. Not graphically so but it does mention and I immediately took note because very rarely do fanfics details things like that when writing about a bedridden character.Do you guys have any recollection about having ever seen this? 🥺 Thank you for your time! Really appreciate your hard work! 🥰#12 on post

31. Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to Mods! I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to ask a fic I’m looking for right now but if so, I’m looking for this fic that I’ve been halting to read for years now 😭 and it’s about an AU where WWX was saved from being thrown in the Burial Mounds, to be specific. I believe it’s either both LWJ and JC or just LWJ who saved him and the fanfic starts in WWX waking up at the Yiling Supervisory Office feeling bad then that’s it… And as far as I also remember in the tags, the author mentioned that the “Self-Harm” tag was about WWX not wanting to be help, hopefully this detailed description helps since I know there’s another famous fanfic is similar to the fanfic I’m looking for. Thank you! #11 on post

34. Hi! I hope everyone is doing ok!! I’m here asking for your help to find a fic, please. I remember it waa time travel, JC got back and found kid!WWC in Yiling, and somehow left him at BM. Then WQ, who also got back (JC doesn’t know that yet) takes him to her parents, and I think he grows up as a Wen. They both visit him through the years, and I think even LWJ shows up at some point. JC sees himself die, because he fell from the boat after the attack to LP. Do you know it? Thanks, happy holidays! #16 on post

35. Hi! Thank you for all your work :) I’m looking for a fic where in the past JYL drowned bc she got caught in a net of some sort and WWX and JC tried to save her, and JC blamed her death on WWX. In the future something similar happens and JC realises it wasn’t really WWX’s fault and they sort of reconcile I think? #2 on post

36. Hello Mood, I’m looking for a fic in which during study time in Gusu, Lan Zhan hurts his eyes to protect Wei Ying. I don’t remember anything else from the fic but only that about Lan Zhan’s injury. Please help me find it, I think it was in ao3 #4 on post

37. Hi! I’m looking for a canon divergence fic where the ending is LZ and WY is dual cultivating at the battlefield (not sex, just using their energy to purge out resentful energy from wy’s body, guqin and flute) and this in turn results in wy developing a core - both their energies after joining together comes down powerfully to settle down in wy’s body.
The ending para of the fic says about a long lost poem about lan an (? Or some other lan ancester) and his partner cultivating a new core through the same method wangxian did. It says no one knows this method.
 Before this dual cultivation (not sex) wy suffers a memory loss and lan zhan calls out to him “wei ying” to tether/ground him and bring him back. It took a while for him to succeed. The fic was very angsty. #2 on post
FOUND? If I Could Go Back in Time by Runningbarefoot (M, 122k, WangXian, Canon Divergence, Role Reversal, Somebody Lives/Not Everyone Dies, Pining, Angst with a Happy Ending, Grief/Mourning, YLLZ WWX, Eventual Happy Ending, The Twin Jade Brotherhood, Hurt/Comfort, Healing, Character Study, Twin Prides of Yúnmèng Dynamics, Slow Burn) what was described happened specifically the last 2 chapters Wwx didn’t have memory lost tho, just an overwhelmingly resentful energy that he couldn’t recognise anyone while using resentful energy but lwj was able to call and ground him back, lwj did some lwj things and wwx ended up getting ‘cleaned’ with spiritual energy of his own. The fic ends with some lines from a book that was burned before.

38. Hello, I’m looking for a Wangxian fic that I’m pretty sure I have saved somewhere. It was a pretty short fic on ao3. From what I remember it was set in a dystopian future where magic was fading from the world. Wangxian knew each other but not well and they were not together. LWJ was a shifter, possibly a huli jing and could no longer shift into animal form. WWX had a workshop where he worked with androids and helps give LWJ his animal form back. It seemed like this was very dangerous for them.  #9 on post
For #9, this is super random but it caught my eye - this is almost the exact plot of a Ken Liu short story called “Good Hunting”. I’m wondering if the fic in question was sort of a re-telling of that story with Wangxian as the characters? Maybe that gives this person an idea of tags or keywords to search - hope that helps someone track it down!

39. I was on Reddit and found this fanfic someone mentioned and I wanted to send it here to see if I could get any luck! “with WWX as Gordon Ramsay and LWJ as single dad who brings his son, reluctantly, to the kids cooking session. 40. Hi, first of all thank you for your amazing work! This is not a WX request so feel free to ignore it but I have been looking for this fic for so long that I thought I take a chance here. I read it quite some time ago and I think it was Meng Yao/ LXC but it might also have been   JWY/ LXC. MY or JWY (whoever became LXC’s partner) was a succubus who had been together with one of the Wens. He was used for his magic but also starved because because never got enough affection etc. to fill his succubus magic reservoir. He only realizes this when he gets together with LXC and recovers. WX are together in the background. I also remember a scene in which Su She comes to bother LXC after having established his own small sect at the edge of Gusu Lan territory. MY (or JWY) encourage LXC to be more assertive towards Su She by telling him to remain half-dressed and talking to Su She at the kitchen table. If I remember correctly there was also a second part in which MY or WWX used their power to make their enemies kneel in a showdown. Might have been ABO on top of succubus magic. This fic has haunted me for a long time now and I would be super grateful if anyone remembered it! #12 on post

I’m trying to find a fic where on post-canon Lwj and Wwx are going through Lwj’s mother’s things and find out a letter (or a diary, I don’t remember what it was) where she reveals that she loved Lxc, but actually hated Lwj, and it absolutely breaks Lwj’s heart, since he loved her so much.  #16 on post

42. Hi I love this blog and I really need help finding a fic. It was a nsfw fic on AO3 where I think WWX was like an explorer or something and finds a snake(?) Or at least a creature of some kind which bites him and infects his with like some close to sex pollen. But the creature turns into LWJ  who I think was a naga. I can’t find it at all and none of the searches I’ve done seem to bring up either. Thank you for the help (I just home Tumblr doesn’t eat this ask )
18 on the fic finder. Yea the one described sounds exactly like it! Slither pleasure didn’t look the same but I’m happy to read it anyway. It’s suck if the one I’m looking for got deleted so fast. Thanks y'all for the help!
know that I’ve read #18 on the latest fic finder before and it’s not Slithering Pleasure but think it may have been deleted because I can’t find it anywhere 😭 lwj was the snake and kind of intersex. Wwx was a certified monster fucker and thought a lot about past sexual encounters he’d had with other creatures. It ended with lwj declaring wwx as his mate and wwx more than happy to be so. I really can’t find it anywhere so hopefully someone else can!

43. Hi! Hope you are doing well. Although this is my second time requesting this fic, i  hope you are able to find it for me. Lwj in this fic is a celebrity and wwx is a reporter/paparazzi. 44. Hi again! I have an ask for the next FicFinder that this falls into. There was this one fic I read maybe back in 2021, where wangxian had had more than just Sizhui as a kid (i think it was two) and their youngest kid got lost and everybody was going crazy searching for him. The kid is eventually found by Wen Ning, thinking he was about to find wwx, because the kid was whistling like he’d seen wwx do and after all is said and done, the kid had to promise not to do it again. I think in this fic wwx was referred to as “mama” and it could possibly be an abo verse? I’m unsure as it has been a while, but if anyone can find anything, I’m super grateful! Thanks in advance 😁💜 #2 on post

45. Hello! I don’t remember much of the fic, but I recall there was a specific part of madam Yu getting whipped by zidian. 46. Hello! I want to find a fic which had post canon (?)wangxian at a family banquet. It was all about them being happily married. The specific scene I remember is that at the banquet, Wei Wuxian knew that lwj liked a specific kind of shrimp, and peeled a lot for him and nudged it his way. Then he looked up and saw everyone was blushing over the romance and lwj looking smug. I hope someone remembers which fic this is. Thank you so much! #18 on post

48. Hi! I’m looking for a fic where Wei Wuxian wakes up in Lotus Pier after being injured on a nighthunt (?) that he went on with Lan Wangji and he finds out from Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli that Lan Wangji has died.
However, we later on find out that Lan Wangji is not actually dead but instead someone sent false letters to Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen. The letter Jiang Cheng received had said that Lan Wangji had died and the letter Lan Xichen had received had said that Wei Wuxian had died. So somebody purposefully made Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji think that the other was dead.
I believe there was also a part in the fic where some guy at Lotus Pier kept calling Wei Wuxian ‘Wei Ying’ and Wei Wuxian kept telling him to stop because only Lan Wangji was allowed to call him that but the guy did it again and Wei Wuxian snapped. Thank you for your help! #6 on post

God, If i have to see ONE more person blaming wwx for Nightless city and JZX' s death, i'm going to tear my hair out.
Like the jins fucking invited him and attacked him and JZX instead of asking his cousin to stop, went to stop wwx ( Jzx i like u but why do u have to be jyl' s husband and put yourself in a dangerous situation like that and wwx ended up taking the consequences for it too).
And Nightless city, when i read the novel, wwx is just sitting there talking and the mob attacks first, they don't even let him finish! (This is exactly like how someone claimed that it was XL' s own fault for getting stabbed by a hundred swords bcz he was stupid enough to run out of the house right into BWX' s arms) And i'm 99.9% sure that the 3000 people is a rumour bcz a lot of the people who were there participated in the 2nd seige like JC. Like what exactly was wwx supposed to do?? What choice did he have?
Istg these takes must come from the same people who say that when a woman is raped, it's her own fault for wearing too less clothes or getting out at night. Or blaming a woman if she killed her attacker in self-defense when they were trying to assault her.
Like the sheer amount of victim blaming in this fandom is just horrible.
I already talked at length about Jin-I'm going to yell at the man being attacked by my cousin to just stop fighting and come stand trial at my fam's place while I pretend I have control of the situation at all - Zixuan but the Nightless City thing is even more absurd. AND WWX POINTS IT OUT:
“Oh,” Wei WuXian helped him analyze, “If he wanted to to kill me, he didn’t have to think about whether it was a fatal blow or not, and if I died, it’d be my own bad luck. If I wanted to protect myself, however, I had to think about this and that not to harm, unable to take even a single strand of hair away from him? In conclusion, you all could pull a siege on me, but I’m not allowed to fight back, am I right?”
Are people just not reading the same thing?
"Tears of laughter seeped from the corners of Wei WuXian’s eyes, “Your admiration as a bit too cheap, isn’t it? You said that you’ll forever stand on the opposite side of me. Very well. Does the fact that you’re standing on the opposite side of me affect me at all? Both your admiration and your hatred are so, so insignificant. How could you be so shameless as to flaunt them in front of others?”
Before he could finish, he suddenly felt something at his throat. A dull ache came from his chest. He looked down to see a fletched arrow in the center of his chest. The head of the arrow was buried between two of his ribs.
He gazed toward the direction in which the arrow came from. The one who shot the arrow was a young cultivator with delicate features. Standing before a small sect’s array, he was still maintaining the pose, his bowstring still vibrating.
Wei WuXian could tell the arrow tip was originally aiming for his heart, his vital region. Yet, because the archer wasn’t skilled, the force of the arrow tip dwindled by midair to have missed the heart and shot into the ribcage."
....
Jin GuangShan ordered, “Set up the battle arrays, set up the battle arrays! We won’t let him leave here alive no matter what!”
With the order, the stalemate was finally broken. Carrying swords and arrows, many disciples rushed toward the ceiling of the palace.
They finally attacked first!
I really could not care less if it was 3000 or 5000. They showed up to hype each other up getting ready to attack and kill WWX & the people he was protecting. They didn't even let him finish talking. How are you gonna have the face to get mad bc the dude you thought was going to be overwhelmed by your force whooped all of your asses?

i feel like as a fandom we do not spend enough time dissecting how fucked up the scene described here is.
"Young Master Wei, that night, you took the two halves of the Stygian Tiger Seal and pieced them together. After you were satisfied with the killing, you were a spent arrow as well. WangJi was injured on your rampage. He was in no better shape than you, barely supporting himself by leaning on Bichen. In spite of this, as he saw you stumble away, he immediately followed.
“Right then, not many people were still conscious. I, too, was almost unable to move, and I could only watch as WangJi, whose spiritual powers were clearly about to be drained, staggered towards you. He brought you onto Bichen as soon as he grabbed you, and you two left."
just. the mental image of lxc being so injured and so drained of spiritual energy that he can only watch helplessly as his brother continues to aid the man who did this to him - to all of them - is fucking breaking me.
lxc just spent an entire night fighting wave after wave of fierce corpses, saw them tear his sect members apart, watched as wwx's demonic cultivation reanimated those same members and forced them to turn on their own brothers and sisters, who could only watch in horror as the men and women they know and love, maybe their own wives, their own husbands, came lurching towards them.
and lxc, he wasn’t spared this; he had to face those familiar looking corpses, too.
they were his family.
but he had to swallow his grief and shout orders at everyone to focus, we will collect and properly bury the dead afterwards, but for now, you must think of them as the enemy --
hours. and hours, of this.
... and then, it ended. all the fierce corpses slumped over. that's the moment when, he assumes (probably correctly??) that wwx became "satisfied with the killing". lxc doesn't even have the energy to do a once-over of the battlefield to check how many of his sect members are left; he stays standing just long enough to make certain that he doesn't have to keep fighting, then his body gives out all at once, and he's on the blood-soaked ground, surrounded by dead bodies and injured cultivators.
but then!!!
he sees white robes pass by him! and it's wangji! and at first he thinks, oh thank god wangji is okay. and then wangji walks past him. and he goes, wait. hold on. wangji where are you --
and lxc has just enough energy to prop his body up enough to see wangji stagger towards wwx, grab him, put him on bichen, and... leave.
first of all, the fucking betrayal of lwj helping a mass murderer - a mass murderer who, i will remind you, used the bodies of the people he killed against their own family/sect members.
second of all, the betrayal of the fact that lwj has enough spiritual energy to do all that in the first place??? when lxc - and everyone else on the battlefield - is basically paralyzed, may as well be at the brink of death himself, because he spent everything he had trying to keep as many people alive in a battle where the enemy's only goal was to kill as many of them as possible?? like? wwx did not have any sort of noble goal here; he was literally just trying to kill.
look, i get that lwj is strong and he was being powered by love or whatever but you cannot tell me that lwj has more spiritual energy than lxc - so much more that he's able to, in this scene, 1. move, 2. haul wwx - an entire human adult male who weighs at least 150 lbs - onto his sword, 3. be able to use his sword (since we know that spiritual swords drain spiritual energy), 4. be able to FLY ON HIS SWORD, 5. be able to fly on his sword long enough to whisk wwx (whom he is carrying) (who, again, is a FULLY GROWN ADULT MALE) away to a location quite far away (the distance between nightless city & burial mounds is pretty substantial, i think?)
the ONLY way lwj could have done all this is if he hadn't fought as hard as lxc did and THAT knowledge. that, i think, would have hurt the most.
because again, lxc spent an entire fucking evening desperately trying to save lives
if lwj hadn't been doing that, then what the fuck was he doing??
... the fact that even after all of this, AND!!!!!! even after lwj severely injured 33 elders!!! which is, a goddamn HIGH CRIME - even after all! of! that! lxc loved lwj so much that he diligently, patiently, dutifully visited him while he was recovering from the discipline whip punishment - which, i cannot stress enough and i will never change my mind, lwj 100% deserved.
imagine how much lxc must have struggled to forgive lwj.
imagine all the sleepless nights lxc must have had after that bloody night, all the nightmares that plagued him over and over again - horrible visions of reanimated corpses of his family ripping other members of his family apart. of having to chop them into pieces because a fierce corpse won’t stop if you simply pierce its body; you have to completely disable it - decapitate it, cut off its limbs so it can no longer move.
imagine all the funerals he must have attended, doing his best to comfort the loved ones of the fallen, especially those who did not get even a single remain of their relatives because their corpses had been so torn apart during the carnage.
imagine how, even after all that, lxc loved lwj. still sought to understand why he did it all - and, even after being given such an unsatisfactory answer (”no matter what, i am willing to be responsible for everything wwx did” - that’s not a reason; that’s just... blindly following someone), still found it in himself to forgive him. because they’re brothers. because he grew up with lwj; he knows him; he knows him better than anyone else in the world knows him, better than wwx knew him in his first life, and better than wwx knows him in his second.
in the end, lxc knows that lwj’s biggest crime was loving someone else too much, and lxc can’t find it in himself to hate his little brother for that, so he forgives him.
but he’ll never forget, that image of lwj flying away.

On Agartha
Been a while since I’ve written a long text post, most of all one about Fate. It honestly inspires a lot of rambling in me, after all. But I don’t think, this time, it’s due to its good writing, the emotions it makes me feel, or anything good. This, my friend, is about Agartha. I should probably prelude that this contains a metric shit ton of Agartha spoilers. If you haven’t seen Agartha, and you’re actually wanting to see the story -- scroll past. But, having played through Agartha completely and rested on the story for a bit, I think I want to repeat what everyone else has for ages lol.
Agartha, on paper, is incredible. A subterranean world built off fantastical story off fantastical story, made by a woman known for her ability to weave story after story, within stories, on the fly, and from a database of every possible Arabian Nights tale. Where the fear Scheherazade has due to Shahryar's endless abuse and fearmongering has stretched even to men as a whole due to literal years of having to survive Shahryar. Where the only leaders were queens, where the only rebellion force was a man so horrifically corrupt that he'd easily fall for the tricks she played. Her intent -- to reveal magecraft forever, removing any power magecraft has, saving her from ever having to fight and face kings -- and die -- ever again. That... sounds pretty good when I describe it that way, huh? Now if only it were executed with any modicum of sense.
From the beginning, Agartha's writing struck me as remarkably odd. It was like I was watching someone desperately try to emulate Nasu's writing style -- but had absolutely no idea what made Nasu's writing so good. Its exposition dumps, rather than being interesting, ended up being thoroughly boring -- as they focused on the mundane, like the fact that moss glows to light up the landscape -- instead of the magical implications of a world like Agartha even existing to begin with. Albeit, with the mystery of Agartha at that time, we can safely assume that there wasn't much to focus on, but then why spend so damned long talking about this stuff?
The worldbuilding, while passable, feels fairly flawed in execution. The idea of a world made the way Agartha was could've made for some interesting commentary about the way men treated (and still do treat) women in modern society, but Agartha not only misses the point, but tumbles head-over-ass into the uncanny valley and makes the whole thing sound like a continent-wide BDSM session. There's barely any actual subtle or well-done symbolism to showcase misogyny in this way -- and while hyperbole can serve a good point at times, the hyperbole combined with the strangely sexual writing of these segments makes it feel less like commentary and more like a badly-done doujin.
For example -- El Dorado was as simple as it gets. Men are slaves/breeding machines/whatever. The whole 'breeding machine' thing is played off extensively, even with Penth -- a minor at this stage, mind you -- comments on using the protagonists as such breeding machines. I'll come back to this later, because this serves as another point.
Ys was a fucking cool concept -- a world ruled entirely by rampant consumerism and chaos. Men, in this world, are still second-class citizens, pretty much the playthings of the women around them. I say that Ys is the best kingdom comparatively, as it was at least more bearable than its other kingdoms, but it still felt weirdly sexual in its writing tone. Of course, following tone, Dahut (who I'll get back to later) smashes men constantly, and is very keen on fucking Guda as well, following a trend. It's played for comedy, mostly, but it's still uncomfortable as all hell. Even so, I note it's more bearable because it's a very slightly more subtle take on the whole 'misogyny' allegory -- these people are using men for basically whatever they want, and tossing them away after. I'd compare it to a few true crime cases of people who murdered, or assaulted women for no good reason at all, purely out of a want that was either denied (for good reason), or that the want itself was to inflict harm. While the allegory still does feel unintentional here, it's at least slightly less unintentional. It was probably mostly just by accident due to Agartha's generally uncomfortable writing style, but the allegory here feels a little more potent when it's not so blatantly a BDSM fic.
I hate the Nightless City, despite it again being a cool concept. A 'utopia' where speaking out at all means death -- where men are in concept free citizens, but in practice fall victim to the law if they look at someone funny. Again, in concept, great allegory. The law does not treat men and women the same -- and while it differs depending on the case which is preferred, the vast majority of the time, women are pretty much shafted by the legal system (see Brock Turner), especially in very conservative areas. Cases can be made for both genders being shafted, of course -- but for the purpose of this allegory, picking out the prejudices of the legal system against gender is a fair critique. But, like everything else Agartha does, these neat ideas fall flat in practice.
They barely touch at all on the allegory, and nobody seems to even realize it in the cast, making me further believe the allegories aren't intentional at all. In due fact, it's as if the writer didn't even realize that this could be read as an allegory. The men's plights make some sense, as they were yoinked out of nowhere into a world that hates them. But the Servants and Guda don't think about it at all past the 'wow men are slaves that sucks' -- barely even considering that this could be an allegory the world's creator made due to their own horrific circumstances. They do point this out, but to my knowledge, it's very late -- when Scheherazade's called on her bluff, only then is it ever mentioned, and only in passing at that. If anything, the fact they point this out so close to the ending makes the ending itself that much more insulting. But before I get to the ending, I think there's something else about Agartha that sets the scene for just how awful it is -- and that's the way the characters are written, and the dialogue that comes of it. For this, I'll split it up into the characters who portray this the most. I'll even describe their personalities in Agartha's context.
Guda: Crouching pervert, hidden Mash stan. A few non-sequiturs of Guda complimenting Mash despite the mood being completely broken by it. Guda's incapable of taking a situation seriously in Agartha, even when the world's basically due to be changed forever. They keep cracking jokes, creeping on Astolfo/d'Eon, and other such things even when people are literally dying all around him. For that matter, I clearly recall the scene where -- for no real reason -- Guda just changes gears with Mash in tow, and starts trying to decipher d'Eon's gender. There's absolutely no real context to this, nor any reason for Guda to do this. Further noted is the fact Guda has worked with d'Eon before, and should've probably realized d'Eon's situation by this point. The Nasuverse has always been a bit, er, behind on gender norms and such, but it's so prevalent in any scene with d'Eon it hurts -- especially in that particular scene.
Astolfo: Oddly enough, the most tolerable person here (sans one other person). Agartha's refusal to take itself seriously works remarkably well for Astolfo. And while Astolfo isn't exactly written well here either, the fact that Astolfo's always been a bit loopy makes them seem, well, more in character. They're responsible for some of the funnier moments in Agartha, with their input composing approximately 3/4 of the, like, seven or eight funny moments in Agartha proper. Even so, Astolfo's appearance sometimes hurts Agartha as much as they help it, probably since Astolfo is a bit of the reason Agartha won't take itself seriously.
d'Eon: Deserved fucking better. The previously mentioned scene was the worst offender by far in my eyes, with it coming out of fucking nowhere. d'Eon's paired with Astolfo as a buddy and fighting partner, which itself could've made for good material -- instead, d'Eon is constantly dragged into Astolfo's fanservice-y gimmicks, and d'Eon themselves are pretty often creeped on by Guda. I'd go out on a limb to say that d'Eon's implied dislike of gendered clothing (see the maid outfit) made their scenes wearing such outfits far more uncomfortable, especially with how distinctly sexual the Agartha humour is. I just hated it.
Columbus: I can't fucking believe I'm saying this, but Columbus was the funniest character in Agartha. And I don't even think that was intentional. Something about how unabashedly horrible he was caught me completely off guard -- I thought he'd end up sort of like Napoleon at a glance, someone whose Spirit Origin was completely changed due to Europe's collective worship of the dude -- but holy FUCK was I wrong. Something about the hilariously cursed faces Columbus pulls, combined with his loud-and-proud irredeemable evilness, made him a blast to watch -- and an even bigger blast to beat the shit out of. His, uh, toothy grin still cracks me up even a few weeks after playing it.
Penthesilea: One of a very large amount of people who really deserved better. She barely ever shows up -- and when she does, she voices her desire to turn Guda and co. into a breeding machine/slave (recall she's like. 16?), and pretty much throws the whole 'reasonable-ish zerk' thing out the window instantly, because Agartha decided to forego decent writing in favour of 'funny berserker hates achilles haha brrrrrr,' therefore losing pretty much all the characterization they could've given her. The lack of 'alternate views' that show her in greater detail make this far worse, which I'll go into later.
Dahut: God, wasted potential out the asshole! A woman who made an entire world that fucked around and needlessly consumed stuff, she's the epitome of such a belief. But that's all she is. I'd be able to forgive this awful writing if Scheherazade, who 'implanted' Drake onto Dahut, was a bad writer -- but she's fucking Scheherazade! Dahut's a completely flat character, who constantly tries to bed (and kill) Guda, and generally likes the idea of needless consumption. That's literally it. Again, could be explained if Dahut had difficulty keeping control of Drake's body and conscience -- but this isn't explored either! She's just a walking, talking missed opportunity.
Wu: God, look at her design. Do I even need to say more?! She falls under the same problem that the other rulers do -- shallow characterization, no opportunities to flesh them out, etc.
Scheherazade: She could've been so fucking amazing. Scheherazade's story is one ripe with interpretations the Fate series so loves to utilize -- and on paper, her character is amazing. It'd only be natural for someone like Schez to be this deeply traumatized after so many days on death's door -- not many could really get through that okay. The incredible storyteller who fears death, kings, and unconsciously, men as a whole -- creating Agartha as a subtle way of ensuring none of them harm her while she prepares her ultimate plan of revealing magecraft to the entire world. However, as with the other Agartha characters, she becomes cripplingly one-note. Bringing her fear of death above all else, she comes off as an unreasonable asshole, constantly freaking out about death and preserving exclusively herself to a fault. While one could argue it's partially due to a Pillar's influence, Phenex doesn't seem to have a hold on her at all -- it's a basic alliance, and nothing more, as the ending shows us. It just leaves her as a one-note death avoider, with no other character traits at all. I'd go into further detail, but I'm saving that for later.
Fergus: God fucking damnit, man. A literal child version of Fergus, who the entire cast constantly expects to sexually harass every woman in sight. He's a one-note flanderization of Fergus, just without the one character trait Agartha gave Fergus. It just makes him... boring, a character whose only character trait is his refusal to hit a woman. Like... Come on. The fact the entire team is so sure this literal child will start trying to hit on women is just uncomfortable to witness, and the fact he slowly starts gaining these traits feels less like him 'meeting his fate' as Fergus, and more like Agartha wants an excuse to sexually harass more of the cast.
The Fucking Ending I'm giving this its own category, because of just how much of a punch to the face it was. In short -- the plan to reveal magecraft is revealed, more jokes are made, bla bla bla. Agartha can't keep a serious mood at all. ...But the final few scenes take it to a whole other extreme.
Wu Zetian comes out of nowhere despite being squashed by Megalos earlier, stuffing Phenex into a pit of her weird water shit, placing Phenex in a state of 'life and death.' Child Fergus then sac's his own Spirit Origin to summon Fergus inside himself(???), thus gaining the power of Caladbolg to weaken Phenex enough for the player to destroy. ...However, Child Fergus just summoned Fergus inside his own body. So, what happens when you put Agartha!Fergus, a one-note sexual harasser, into the body of a child? You get the final scene of Agartha. For some reason, I guess you need more help from others to take out Phenex. To this end, Fergus decides to convince Schez to join their side. I'd like you to recall that FGO!Scheherazade is implied to have the trauma of Shahryar's abuse, sexual and physical, burned into her memory -- not just the whole death thing. In every form of the story, Shahryar abuses her in such a fashion almost nightly. It's to the point where Schez' first line of defence, and much of her skills, are as much oriented around storytelling as they are charm and seduction (moreso the former than the latter, albeit), because her defence mechanism was that as much as it was storytelling, to keep her abuser happy. This is a part of why Agartha is the way it is -- to keep such men away from her. Hell, there's not a single King in sight, save technically Fergus, and Chaldea's d'Eon and Astolfo. Fergus knows this. Hell, he heard this being called out. He's well aware how terrified she is. So, what does he do?
SEXUALLY HARASS HER. He claims she has to live to have kids. That men and women have to live to have kids. He claims that she should live, because he'd smash her. ...Now, that's insulting enough -- moreso, that it's played dead serious. Nobody even as much as calls him on such a shitty persuasion tactic, and nobody even mentions how awful it is to sexually harass a woman who'd been sexually assaulted at best for the better part of almost three straight years. AND IT. FUCKING. WORKS.
SCHEHERAZADE. IS IMPLIED. TO BE INTO IT.
And because of this, she's swayed to join the heroes and seal Phenex away for good -- giggling about how Fergus' worldview was partially correct even as she fades away. The epilogue features Fergus, sexually harassing Scheherazade ON SIGHT -- calling out 'tits on my 12:00' or whatever, as Scheherazade darts off. However, Schez isn't avoiding him due to trauma. She's avoiding it because, while she's into it, she doesn't want to 'die' so fast. This fucking ending highlights among the biggest issues with this damned Singularity. Even Blavatsky coming out of fucking nowhere to Deus Ex Machina a grail and help into Guda's hands -- despite seemingly being slaughtered by Columbus in a (admittedly a bit funny) way to get the base of the Resistance -- means nothing to me compared to the blatant slaughter of two characters at once. Fergus is a total horndog even outside of Agartha's reach, but he even notes he respects his partners' consent, and doesn't overstep his bounds if he makes them uncomfortable. Scheherazade isn't exactly trusting in the slightest, least of all in Agartha - she barely even begins trusting Guda due to Guda treating her with actual respect. Even then, she isn't actively prostrating herself for Guda in that sense, very likely due to the fact that's more of a defence mechanism to her rather than something she'd enjoy, due to extreme trauma. Albeit, Fate writing does leave the possibility in the air for Guda specifically, but that's very likely just due to Guda being Guda and being careful to treat her properly and help her than anything else (and also the whole 'self insert harem' thing, I guess, but that's a hell of a lot easier to ignore esp in contrast to Agartha) And yet, we see that epilogue, that butchers both of them in one fell swoop so badly that I almost ended up hating both of them. Agartha's biggest problem is that it tried to be deep and intriguing, while having the writing quality of the goddamned Valentine's events. It picked all the right characters to have an incredibly intriguing storyline, and fell flat because the author decided that playing sexual harassment, d'Eon's everything, and even the most serious scenes for comedy was more important than telling a story even half as meaningful as the chapters before it. Lo and behold -- to my knowledge, Minase wrote it. Of course he did. He chose the best, the most interesting characters he could find, and made them so fucking one-note that the story lost all its charm in moments. He chose to emulate Nasu without understanding what made Nasu's writing so good. He chose to make Agartha a laugh fest despite simultaneously trying to make it 'deep.' He chose to fall head-over-ass over a possibly interesting allegory into misogyny and fall right into sexualizing it to the point of feeling like a femdom BDSM fic. And go figure the only character he did decently was Christopher fucking Columbus. I have a hatred for Agartha I can't reasonably place anywhere else. Prillya was just as shitty, but I ignored it, because Prillya itself wasn't great, so of course the crossover sucks too. Valentine's events written by him weren't great, but whatever, it's a Valentine's event. Septem, written by someone else, was similarly not great. But it wasn't insulting. It simply wasn't great, and had a lot of wasted potential. But its ending wasn't out of character to the point of being insulting. Its story didn't make incredible mythological and historical figures too infuriating to like anymore. It didn't almost ruin entire Fate characters for me. Not the way Agartha did. I should probably contextualize that Scheherazade is among my favourite mythological figures. I introduced myself to her through Magi (lmao) due to further research into the base stories -- as well as a favourite Magic: The Gathering card, Shahrazad, which forced you to play a game within your game, like how Arabian Nights featured stories within stories.
Even in Fate outside of Agartha, I liked her. Her design didn't make much sense to me considering her character, but whatever, I didn't need to think too hard of it. It's just a design, and despite my hatred of Penth's design, I still love Penth as a character, so I can handle Schez. But Agartha painted her in such a way that all the subtlety and interesting parts of Schez went completely out the window. No longer was there any hidden references to the aftereffects of her life beyond 'i dun wan die,' and there was hardly an ounce of sympathy or kindness in her bones at all. While her being an anti-hero made some sense, especially as she was only a normal person with far above-average storytelling prowess, there was a point when she stopped being a 'good, but terrified person' and started being a complete asshole. And Agartha was that time. If it weren't for her Interlude, which redeemed her considerably, and Ooku, which did wonders for her character despite being written by Minase (as I believe Nasu was overseeing him at that point), I very likely would've never gone for her at all, despite my love of the myth. In Conclusion This rant is just to say that Agartha is bad. Horrific. Insulting, even. At every step where it could've been good, it tumbled head-over-ass into the most insulting, uncomfortable shit you could imagine. It failed to take itself seriously, and paced itself like a comedy event, but simultaneously acted as if it expected its audience to take it seriously. Like a clown brigade deciding to take on Les Mis, it loses all of its punch when every few lines is interrupted by a jab at Fergus, sexual harassment, or something that comes close to being cool before suddenly turning into a badly-timed joke, or suddenly becoming laden with dialogue so sexual it feels straight out of a porno. It's aggravating, awful, and with only brief reprieves of bareable comedy in between long, long lengths of hellish text and awful characterization. The only good part was the gameplay -- which, laden with interesting mechanics not seen elsewhere, was legitimately fun. My take? Avoid all Agartha cutscenes and plot, and just play the gameplay. The gameplay's fun, and if enjoyed on its own, would probably make for a far better experience than observing the story surrounding it. But good gameplay doesn't make up for a horrible story, especially in a game where plot is as important as it is in F/GO. Agartha's a pile of shit in my eyes, but that's ultimately only my opinion, and nothing more. If others have an opinion counter to mine, that's completely fine -- and don't let this analysis ruin your fun with Agartha if you enjoyed its plot. To be frank, I'd be happy if you enjoyed it where I could not. And if you think my takes are misinformed, or if I missed a spot (or overreacted to a spot), that's what the reblogs and comments are for! I'm definitely not the kind of dude who has the final say in matters like this -- this is only what I picked up. Thank you for reading!

Ok I’m gay and love soulmate shit like souls just meant for each other whether platonic/familial/romantic just that shits so good and what better way to express that than in huge robots beating up giant monsters?
So jaegers right? Ok sect backgrounds
Yunmeng Jiang: Specialize in water battles with controlled yet fluid movements. They specialize in midranged battle with swords and whips that keep kaiju at a distance but theyre also very adept at close combat. They definitely have hidden daggers in every open crevice of their jaegers
Gusu Lan: Specialize in more aerial battles, not like sustained in air battles but using different maneuvers to gain the advantage over kaiju. They tend to work in pairs and work in tandem to disorient and overwhelm the kaiju. They’re strict because not only do you have to vibe with your copilot but you also have to know what other pilots are thinking so you can work together
Qinghe Nie: Ok so Nies made some of the og jaegers with nuclear power and low shielding because it give them a Massive Boost in power but it was also dangerous for their pilots. While the other sects went for better shielding and less dangerous power sources, the nies kept the trade off because pilots felt that risking their lives was worth protecting their people. Nie pilots tend to die young
Lanling Jin: Kind of like the Nies the Jin style has trade offs. They opt for thing light plating so they are quick to maneuver and get at weak points on kaiju. They specialize in speed and precision to keep them alive and effective. They’re basically squishy genjis
Qishan Wen: Idk I feel they have experimental but dangerous tech that they test. The sects are wary of them but they get results so there’s not much they can complain about. The wens have the advantage because so many of their population are drafted for their pilot program where the other sects take volunteers and people who want to become disciples.
This might get long so imma put the rest under a read more :L
Ok so do we want plot or soulmates first? Hmmm plot to explain the soulmates
We start with wwx and jc. Yzy trains them fast and hard with the other disciples and they both excel in their training. Wwx and jc have a jaeger named Night’s Envy.
They are a team to be reckoned with as they balance each other. Wwx is impulsive but has great instincts and his ideas are brilliant if risky. Jc on the other hand is calculating and analytical and he takes his brothers ideas and turns them into a viable plan they can both pull off.
Yzy is always harsh on wwx for his tactics saying hes going to get his brother hurt one day but wwx just laughs it off with jc bc they trust each other so well.
Also because they drift, they know of each others insecurities and help each other when tensions spike etc etc. We are here for supportive brothers ok?? They are the Twin Heroes of Yunmeng and are inseparable.
God I havent even gotten to the plot yet. Ok this is a bit of a step back to their training days but this is where wwx and lwj met. Wwx and jc go to the Cloud Recesses training facility because its the most advanced in the country. It’s strict there but their training is top notch and keeps their pilots alive. Ofc wwx gets busted by lwj for alcohol and thats how wwx gets on lwjs radar.
Lwj doesnt know how to feel about wwx, besides annoyed, because hes such an amazing pilot but doesnt control his actions. Wwx excels in the studies and training but is so carefree and flippant about everything that it frustrates him to no end. Doesn’t help that wwx loves to rile lwj up to get a reaction
They end up developing a competitive relationship and always try to outdo each other in training sims and sparing. All the other disciples know about the top two students duking it out for top spot but they keep switching between each session. Before they get to actually try drifting together wwx gets into a fight with jzx and gets kicked out (spoilers they are drift compatible)
Ok back to our Twin Heroes. Night’s Envy gets deployed for a kaiju but their fight starts to drift into Wen territory. Idk regulations or smth say they shouldn’t infringe on anothers territory so yzy tells them to come back but wwx spots the kaiju headed for an undefended village. It would take the wens time to deploy their own pilots so wwx and jc look at each other and nod. Wwx says their headed to save the village and yzy is furious telling him off for being impulsive and not listening but it was also jc’s idea (he wont say that tho bc he doesnt want him to get into trouble)
Wwx has a wild idea, jc finds out how to make it work, and they go after the kaiju as it bears down on the village. They’re able to push it back but it gets a hit in and jc gets injured and knocked out. Wwx is left to pilot solo and manages to subdue the kaiju before piloting the jaeger to crash next to the village
This is where Wen Qing and Wen Ning come in because this is their village and they pull wwx and jc out from the wreckage. Wq stabilizes both of them and wwx is the one to wake up first. Their comms were broken in the fight and the village doesnt have advanced enough comms to get to the jiangs so wwx stays and helps the village while taking care of his brother who is still Out
Little do they know that the Wens are Unhappy about them infringing on their territory and bar yzy from sending parties to collect her pilots and jaeger and theres now Tension. (Wens are just using this as an excuse bc they want more power in the jaeger industry and want to incorporate the other sects)
Once wwx catches wind of this, he enlists wn’s help in getting them out and they’re able to get an unconscious jc back into the jiang’s hands but then he himself gets caught by wen chao and wen zhuliu. he’s able to say wn was his prisoner and forced so hes safe but wwx is now in their hands.
He gets beaten, tortured, etc for information but manages to escape and find his way back to the wen village. Wq helps him back to health bc he protected her brother and he stays there because he can be safe there. (This is where he basically adopts a-yuan bc i say so)
When jc wakes up hes back with the jiangs but his brother isn’t there. He goes Off and hes doing everything he can to try and get back to find his brother but he was unconscious and has no clue about the village let alone where it is.
Soon war breaks out between the sects bc the wens are using their weird tech to take territories from the other sects and now the sects are fighting on two fronts: the kaiju and the wens. Finding wwx is lowest priority for the sects but jc is still out there searching and when lwj hears of it, so is he
I think once the war breaks out wwx starts to move his village of wens to a safer territory from both the wens and other sects bc he knows no one will be spared. During his time at he village, he ventures out to bigger wen cities and learns about their experimental/dangerous tech and learns how to use it and program it to his advantage
He makes his way back to the jiang territories once he has amassed a thorough knowledge of the wen tech. he uses that knowledge to take out wen pilots and outposts in the territories he pushes through and becomes a ghost. the only evidence of his presence is the destruction left in his wake.
Jc and lwj at this point have just started searching together and thats when they stumble upon wwx using wen tech against the wens. Jc is so angry with wwx for leaving him and being away so long but hes also crying as he hugs him close. Lwj is wary of the tech wwx is using because its experimental and dangerous idk. Jc takes wwx back and they continue fighting the war.
Now the jiangs and thus the rest of the sects have an advantage because they have an insider who knows the wen’s plans (meng yao) and someone who knows how their tech works and can use it against them  (wwx). wwx is able to set up some tech to hold off kaiju so certain forces can be pushed to the wen front to end the war quicker
in the final battle wwx is able to get them a huge advantage with the tech but gets hit hard with backlash and gets knocked out during the battle and lwj and jc defend his unconscious figure as meng yao gets the final blow on wrh and the battle ends.
Idk i want lans to still be healers cuz i want lwj to take care of an unconscious wwx while jc and the others deal with the end of war idk meetings etc plus there are still like,,, kaiju attacking lmao
jgs is gonna be targeting wwx since he knows the wens tech and its uses etc. the jins go after the remaining wens bc they want their tech blah blah. they find wq’s village and wwx goes off. he goes and rescues them (wn is injured but alive) and takes them away. jgs spins this as wwx trying to amass his own tech to take over or something and people believe that for some reason w/e
the massacre at nightless city is wwx trying to talk to them about the wen remnants being no fighting army etc etc but doesnt matter and someone attacks him and he fights back but of course experimental tech isnt always good and it accidentally gets too powerful and hurts a Lot of People (jyl is alive). wwx is knocked out by the backlash and lwj takes him to safety.
wn is there and he takes wwx back to where the rest of the remnants are hiding and lwj fights off 33 elders who try to follow/intercept wn and wwx
I haven’t decided how the rest is gonna go but I have Ideas. Tbqh there’s a lot missing in between the bullets but i wanted to get this all down

Episode 11 - The Yunmeng Sibs have shitty parents & *Screams in Doctor*
Hello hello! Long time no talk, who’d thought finishing med school wound not free my schedule up? Not me that’s for sure. Btw I have an iPad case (where I’m watching and writing) that can turn into a stand so the screen is upright. HOWEVER the lower flaps that hold the iPad in the case broke so it just keeps sliding down and giving me heart attacks, you’ll hear me screaming about it further down I’m sure. So enjoy my pain.
This farewell scene is fucking me up tho. Why do you want tears so early in the episode screenwriters? Why? (Also, MY STILL HAS NOT HAD TREATMENT FOR THAT STAB WOUND)
Aw my One Braincell Trio worries about MY is adorable tho (yet another missed opportunity for him to make actual friends who care about him and not end up as JGY)
I’m sorry for the thirst but HOLLY SHIT WANG ZHUOCHENG’S BONE STRUCTURE.
That’s it. I’m going to stop the tv series here when they’re in Lotus Pier and everything is fiiiiine. Btw watching that servant girl run through the place has convinced me that I 100% would trip taking a corner and end up in the lake.
YUNMENG SIIIIIBS
Ok, pause to say: I do think Madame Yu is a BAMF. I also think that’s literally her only redeeming quality. I don’t like Mme Yu and I don’t like JFM and y’all are gonna have to endure my ranting.
This woman is just spoiling for a fight isn’t she?
Ok, the first time I saw this, I was willing to be on her side. My mum does the same thing where she rants when she’s worried and my dad is more phlegmatic (until he snaps then they just scream at each other and I eat popcorn). The instant I decided that she could go hang was when she started being an asshole to her kids. And they just take it, so it is clearly not the first time she’s called her daughter a mildness follower and her son idiot and useless fuuuuck her.
And of course JFM goes and pulls the “man from way back when” misogynistic bullshit and tells her to go rest. Why would he either try to not have this conversation in from of their children or stand up for all of them.
Ok. How did LWJ not get a massive footprint on his PALE BLUE clothes from WZL’s kick?
Also, let me go down the clothes, or rather footwear, rabbit hole for a second. Those fucking boots can’t be comfortable. I know that’s the shape they had and whatever but they don’t move when you walk. My god, I own 12 pairs of Doctor Martens, I did pointe in my ballet class for years, I know a lot about unyielding shoes and I can tell you, that walking without being able to flex you foot is horrendous. How. Why. Am I missing something that’s common knowledge about those boots by virtue of not being Chinese? (And having almost zero knowledge of traditional Chinese clothing)
Alright, back to the show LWJ about to throw hands at WC (not with, WC is too much of a coward).
Yay the butterflies!
My one track mind: *takes note of the fakeness of the fake blood*
Xichen bb noooooo.
Wait wait wait. Assuming the Cloud Recesses siege and the conversation when JFM tells our boys they’re leaving for Nightless City in three days are happening simultaneously that means LWJ fucked off to indoctrination ON A BROKEN LEG. And he got there only a bit before the people from Yunmeng, however Cloud Recesses is further away than Lotus Pier, so he was fucking rushing, ON A BROKEN LEG. Please tell me he was at least wearing plaster under his clothes (no he wasn’t, at least not in the Murder Turtle cave) *Screams in Doctor*
(But FR, don’t pull that kind of bullshit, walking around on a fracture can cause the bone fragments to shift, compress the blood supply to your foot and you can loose it)
Look, this idiot is back. Again, if you see random bouts of screaming is just me not wanting to listen to Su She.
Ok, ok I’ve got a bone to pick here. I’ve seen some people say that Su She cracking and telling the Wens how to get in is less about him being an asshole and more about he not wanting to die. Fair enough, wanting to survive is natural. HOWEVER, my problem with this situation in particular is that, as long as he saved his own skin, he didn’t give a fuck about all the people who were going to get murdered. That’s a dick move.
And before anyone can tell me that’s not how regular people work, my building caught on fire about a year ago, my first instinct after putting my cat in his carrier by a fresh air source was to leave my flame-free flat to go check on my neighbours. I don’t know my neighbours, hell, our relationship consists on them letting their kids scream until past midnight and me blasting death metal at 6am the day after in retaliation. (They were gone for the weekend and both me and the cat were fine, thank fuck for skylights). I know it isn’t the same stakes as being held at swordpoint but, my dude, human decency is human decency.
Su She: people like LWJ look down on us outer disciples.
LWJ: *literally gets his leg broken bc he saved Su She’s life*
My one track mind: where’s the arterial spray?
Every time I seen Yunmeng disciples shooting kites I start hearing Kill Bill sirens.
Speaking of shooting kites. I don’t think JC has ever actually been jealous of WWX like sometimes I’ve seen mentioned. He clearly encourages him to best his shot in front of all the disciples knowing he’ll make it. He’s had his mother’s poison and his father’s indifference poured in his ear since he was a child, if this really was a Thor-Loki/Scar-Mufasa/Cain-Abel brother dynamic those tiny little gestures wouldn’t exist. JC could not give less of a fuck that WWX is “better” than him, it has been, however, used to hurt both of them; and that’s what pisses him off. Not that he’s compared to his brother, but that whoever is doing that comparison explicitly seeks to hurt. Also, knowing that you baby brother (I don’t care WWX is older that JC, he’s the baby in this relationship) is a prodigy, and yet he’s in such deep shit he probably won’t be able to get out, and what can you, not a prodigy, do to help him out? Nothing. That’s terrible, that’s painful and as we all know JC only emotes in anger.
SOMEONE HUG NHS PLEASE HE LOOKS SO SAD.
Oh I’m living for Peacock’s facial expressions.
Ok, listen, listen. That whole scene where WWX turns around, LWJ is looking gorgeous dressed in white, flanked by the two Wen soldiers walking down the aisle to joint the front of the queue reads too much like a Western wedding for my poor heart to not make the connection. Also, LWJ (in white) is walking towards WWX (in black) which is usually the positions and colour schemes of an heterosexual version of those weddings and as much as I say fuck gendering WangXian (ppl calling WWX mother or wife makes me homicidal) you will pry those parallels from my cold dead hands.
I can’t even make fun of the *Bichen grip* because my taciturn bb is so hurt right now.
Thanks for reading!

but imagine if MoDaoZuShi/The Untamed literally follows how the story is told:
when weiying dies, he literally wakes up 16 (or 13) years earlier. he has all the knowledge of the older him, but everything is yet to come.
he keeps trying to fix things. but history keeps course-correcting. he meets lanzhan, they find the yin iron, the find the sword in xuanwu, he gives his core to his brother, he’s forced down a different cultivation path.
he dies as the hated yiling patriarch.
but he keeps going back in time. chance, after chance, after chance, and he doesn’t understand why the universe keeps favoring him.
(and throughout all of this, lanzhan is the only one who believes him.
i die, weiying tells him, and lanzhan listens.
weiying can’t make sense of that. it’s as if lanzhan remembers too and has vowed to never again choose any side other than beside weiying.)
weiying doesn’t know what to do until he thinks: if lanzhan really is my soulmate, then maybe meeting him is the catalyst to their destined fates.
so he tries this route:
he doesn’t mess around when the jiang sect is invited to gusulan for lectures. he never bonds with lanzhan, even though it destroys him that the other boy never even looks his way. weiying distances himself from the very beginning; he never lets them see the damage.
(maybe now he won’t hurt anyone.)
but down this path, lanzhan discovers the stygian iron on his own. he’s targeted by the wen sect by himself. he's cast into the burial mounds.
weiying immediately goes after him because of all things, he never intended for this to happen.
(i keep dreaming about you, lanzhan admits, though it’s hard to hear over the screaming resentful spirits. he pauses, trying to catch his breath. i remember you.
and now weiying really doesn’t understand. if you know what happens, why did you interfere? why would take my place?
lanzhan just looks at him, at this stupid idiot he’s still in love with time after time after time, unwaveringly. he doesn’t mention crossing the single-log bridge alone in the dark. he doesn’t mention pointing his sword at the yiling patriarch’s throat. he doesn’t mention a-yuan, doesn’t mention his headband, doesn’t mention the song he wrote for them. he doesn’t mention watching weiying fall.
instead, he remembers the image of weiying praying to the gods, paper lanterns burning up in the hazy sky like stars close enough to embrace. he remembers their promise.
we wish we can always stand with justice and live with no regrets.
lanzhan’s mouth curls upward. what do you think? he inquires finally.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
weiying wakes up in lanzhan’s room. they are 16, 17, maybe barely 18. they are children, and weiying fell asleep copying all of gusulan’s rules.
he snaps to attention, catching lanzhan’s gaze. it’s still harsh, criticizing, but knowing. knowing. my soulmate in this life.
weiying understands.
(he does get lanzhan drunk again. and they both are punished for it again. but he doesn’t tease lanzhan this time, just tucks him into bed, hand soft against a familiar jawline.
thank you, weiying whispers.)
when they fall into the cave, lanzhan still wraps his headband around their wrists. lanzhan also takes his hand. lanzhan chooses him.
this time, weiying trusts the people who love him. it doesn’t matter if wen ruohan finds out. weiying now has all four sects backing him.
wenchao doesn’t stand a chance against the twin jades of gusulan or the twin heroes of yunmengjiang. jiangyanli, wenqing, wenning are safe. the heavenly lady statue remains sealed away. the head disciples of all five sects save the yueyangchang sect.
you can change, weiying tells xueyang. the assassin almost laughs, his cheek bleeding, but there’s something dark and terrible in the other man’s eyes. the yiling patriarch speaks, live without regrets. live meaningfully.
xueyang quiets. he lets songlan and xiaoxingchen lead him away.
(there is no battle at the unclean realm. mengyao is stopped by niemingjue before he can murder the chief general. weiying, with all the blood of thousands of cultivators on his hands of a different timeline, stops the execution.
mengyao is brought to gusulan, to be watched over by lanxichen.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the disciples make their way to nightless city. the wen siblings promise to stay safe as they plan to save as many of their sect as they can from the inevitable battle.
weiying leads the other four boys to muxi mountain.
(but this is a fixed point.)
in the end, weiying and lanzhan remain trapped by the xuanwu of slaughter. as the pair ready their weapons, weiying suddenly thinks of mianmian. he undoes his robes, much to lanzhan’s immediate panic, and finds that the scar is still branded on his chest, just over his heart.
but it never happened, he whispers, frowning, looking at lanzhan through the glowing flames of their camp.
lanzhan stares steadily back at him, a hand coming up to his own chest. it does not matter. his matching mark is there too, even though such events have yet to transpire.
when they are ready, lanzhan takes weiying’s hand again. you must be safe.
weiying smiles.
(when he finds the sword, the resentful energy nearly overwhelms him again. he lets it, just for a few minutes, just so they can kill the wretched beast. he remembers lanzhan’s bleeding hands from the strings. please, don’t let him come to harm.
lanzhan saves him, brings him back to their fire, and heals him with his spiritual energy.
is this a dream?
no.
weiying laughs weakly again.
i never thought in my lifetime that i would see lan’er gongzi act so concerned. it’s cruel of him to say, after everything they know might happen—has happened, has never happened. lanzhan. just now, i thought i wouldn’t survive.
lanzhan presses the back of his palm to weiying’s forehead. weiying, he whispers, as if the man before him is the most precious creature across universes.
lanzhan hums. once again, weiying never stays awake long enough to hear the name of their song.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the other three disciples save them. as jiangcheng and niehuaisang fret over weiying, the latter storms up to jinzixuan.
just tell her, you stupid peacock!
jinzixuan bows his head, ears very red, and jiangcheng decides it’s high time he brought his older brother back home.
(where’s lanzhan?
he left, jiangcheng retorts, frustrated but all-too-aware. he will be fine.)
jiangyanli welcomes her brothers home, close to tears, and weiying secretly wonders if he will ever life a life in which he doesn’t cause his sister grief.
when yuziyuan lashes out at him, weiying smiles through the beating. i am sorry, he manages, though his back is bleeding from the zidian. this proud woman, this terrified mother, this loving wife glares down at the child her husband adopted.
(the important part is when the wen sect still comes for his family. the important part is that they are ready this time. the important part is that they fight on the same side.)
wenzhuliu recognizes something as he stands opposed to weiying. he does not touch the boy. jiangcheng never loses his golden core. the wen sect retreats.
the important part is that they all live. jiangyanli tends to his wounds, and weiying knows the medicine came from her mother.
the wen siblings arrive soon after, and wenqing’s healing prowess works its wonders.
(jiangcheng works up the courage to give wenqing the comb he bought. weiying laughs when wenning dutifully reports back to him, laughs and laughs until his aching body aches no more.
deep down, he thinks of lanzhan and fixed points in time.)
jinzixuan shows up to help yunmengjiang recover. emboldened by weiying’s jab, he does in fact properly court jiangyanli.
(weiying borrows a messenger butterfly from him.
lanzhan, lan’er gongzi, lan’er gege. the burial mounds.
he pauses, thinking carefully.
oh, light-bearing lord. i’m sorry. thank you.)
when he arrives at the Burial Mounds, lanzhan is already there amidst the skeletal forest, blue robes so light that they’re almost white. dressed for a funeral.
weiying.
don’t ask me to go back with you. you don’t have to follow.
lanzhan looks pained. once, he begged weiying not to go. once, he wanted to hide weiying away, safe from the world, imprisoned at his side. he doesn’t say don’t go where i can’t follow. he means, i will follow you to the ends of the earth without regrets.
a-xian, lanzhan murmurs, and weiying’s heart almost gives out right there and then. be safe. for the time that never came where he did not stand by weiwuxian, lanwangji apologizes. i’m sorry. thank you.
make sure we are ready when i return. protect shi’jie, jiangcheng. make sure wenning and wenqing are safe.
lanzhan smiles, a small thing, a rare thing, but always and only for weiying. you can trust me. i will wait.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(two months. three months. the yiling patriarch emerges, chenqing glistening from where it’s strapped strapped to his belt.)
the sects celebrate his return at the unclean realm. his siblings move to embrace him, but weiying holds up a hand, his eyes red. he’s trembling.
not yet. where is lanzhan?
(lanzhan finds him helpless in his room, dark smoke curling off his body. you promised you would be safe. his guqin materializes as he settles to play, fingers precise over familiar strings. focus. weiying, focus!
he plays ‘cleansing’.
when the resentful energy calms, lanzhan plays their piece.
weiying sighs, his breaths calming. tell me. what’s the name of that song?
the guqin disappears with a swipe of lanzhan’s white robes. he crosses over to where weiying is sitting on the bed.
lanzhan. weiying pouts.
subian appears in lanzhan’s hands. weiying pulls his old sword into his lap, clutching it tightly.
thank you.
when he sees that lanzhan won’t answer his question, weiying explains the new kind of cultivation he experimented with in the burial mounds.
let me help you, lanzhan interrupts.
weiying tilts his head, smiling. of course. i need the light-bearing lord to protect me.)
under wenqing’s care, it is but a few days before weiwuxian of the yunmengjiang sect stands before the assembled sects and explains. he tells them of the stygian iron seal he is trying to develop. he swears he will destroy it when wenruohan is stopped, three fingers raised to his head.
you all as my witness. no one should bear this kind of burden alone.
lanxichen negotiates their final battle formation, smiling knowingly when he sees weiying and his little brother standing side-by-side.
(later that night, the yunmeng siblings huddle together.
the three of us must never be separated, jiangyanli tells them, kissing the foreheads of her little brothers.
you’re getting married, jiangcheng points out, crossing his arms. aren’t you the one leaving us?
yanli laughs, as delicate as the droplets on the lotuses back home. never. we are family. we will always stand by each other. xianxian, do you understand?
weiying nods, his throat tight, before burying his face into his sister’s shoulder.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the united sects invade the nightless city. the puppets grow stronger; fallen cultivators all succumb to the stygian iron under wenruohan’s hand.
the yiling patriarch catches the light-bearing lord’s eyes from across the battlefield. he raises chenqing to lips and plays, haunting, discordant, tragic. his stygian iron seal overpowers the puppets.
once again, he’s pulled to wenruohan, suspended from the top of the cliff as he’s choked.
weiying! he hears lanzhan scream, flying up to him.
the wen leader stumbles. the grip on weiying’s throat relaxes and he falls into lanzhan’s steady grip. wenruohan looks down, disbelievingly, at the sword through his chest.
wenqing pulls her blade back, her eyes swirling with unbridled fury. how dare you threaten my brother. how dare you call yourself a wen? go to hell.
wenruohan dies. the sun in this dark era finally sets.
as weiying’s vision goes blurry, he sees lanzhan saying something. he thinks the other man may be crying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
when weiwuxian finally wakes up, he is in gusulan. he is wearing the white undergarments of their sect. when he wakes, it is to the sound of guqin. when he looks over, lanzhan is playing their piece.
he’s beautiful, weiying thinks, knowing his eyes are brimming with tears. no guan in the other man’s hair, no heavy crown to wear. this is lanzhan, young, soft, intimate.
it feels like a dream.
lanzhan’s fingers still over the strings. you’re awake. there’s a warm smile in the realization.
he goes to sit at weiying’s side. he lets weiying take his hand.
thank you, though what weiying really means is, of course i love you too, thank you for loving me, after all this time, thank you for taking care of me.
lanzhan inhales sharply. he has never been a man of many words, but the light-bearing lord is renowned for his honesty for a reason. this is nothing to thank me for. this does not warrant your thanks when i do this without effort. thank you for letting me stand by you.
thank you for being my anchor, weiying continues, for letting me return to you. let me take care of you now. thank you.
lanzhan’s mouth twitches upward, amused but with a muted kind of sorrow. let me take care of you too. you have always put others before yourself. you are allowed to rest. i will always catch you.
lanzhan—
the other man squeezes weiying’s hand. weiwuxian of the yunmengjian sect, son of cangsesanren and weichangze, brother to jiangyanli and jiangwanyin, the yiling patriarch, my soulmate of this life, weiying—
lanwangji, what are you—
—may i court you properly?
weiying’s eyes widen. his mouth probably drops open in no flattering matter. his mind is going a million, billion thoughts a moment, and he thinks belatedly his heartbeat is probably doing the same. again, not healthy.
why is lanzhan looking at him like that? as if— as if—
i thought you were going to propose to me.
lanzhan promptly blushes.
weiying laughs, surging upward to hug the other man. i accept, if you’ll propose too. the disciplined model cultivator, lanwangji, one of the twin jades of gusulan—surely you must know your own sect’s rules. you’ve let me touch your headband.
yes. he hugs weiying back.
how fortunate i am! cultivation partners with the light-bearing lord, the to-be chief cultivator himself.
how fortunate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
weiying earns his sister’s approval to choose the courtesy name for her son. he and jiangcheng plan the most splendid of weddings for red, crimson red and gold and prosperous. indeed, a wedding to be envied and talked about for centuries to come.
he becomes sworn brothers with niehuaisang and wenning.
the wen sect rebuilds itself with support from the yunmengjiang and gusulan sects. wenqing assumes the role of the leader of the clan with hopes of bringing pride to the wen name.
(weiying and lanzhan help out the most. they meet the wen siblings’ nephew, a-yuan, who latches onto lanzhan’s leg and refuses to let go.
it’s weiying who coaxes the little boy into his arms, scooping him up as a-yuan squeals delightedly.
lanzhan, weiying says, pressing a little closer to him. now we have a child.
lanzhan smiles. yes. a family.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
they say the newest chief cultivator is never far from chaos.
(where weiying goes, his husband follows.)
but for now, there are lotuses blooming in the gusulan sect where the loving duet between a flute and a guqin can always be heard.

The forbidden crack! Untamed prompts: 5/?
Last Exile AU: “Cloud Age Symphony”
[if you have no idea what Last Exile is: I’m sorry. It’s a 2003 steampunk anime series with the biggest potential in history. Check it out if you can!]
[if you HAVE seen Last Exile: thank god someone else exists! The second season was not that great and had too much fanservice imo but the aesthetics bro. Bro. I’m still not over how beautiful everything was. The first season was gritty af and I loved it, I loved Dio Eraclea with all my heart, one of my first sons ever. But the second season was so bright! So colorful. I miss enjoying things sometimes.]
[the title is from the opening of the first series: a masterpiece, I still listen to it regularly]
The nations of Gusu and Qishan are are war, following rules set by the arbitrary faction of the Lanling Jin Sect, who provides them with the technology and antigravity fuel necessary to promote the aerial conflict and keep the population under its control through economic development and resources availability.
Without the regulations imposed by the Lanling Jin Sect, none of the airships implemented during the war could ever fight, since the winds of the region that lies between the two nations are too powerful to face with regular infantry by foot and artillery.
Maestro Jin GuangYao, the decadent aristocratic at the head of the Sect, keeps an iron hold on the known world, his diplomatic ways seldom more powerful than his ruthless actions to subjugate the population year after year. His only nephew Jin Ling, fearless pilot of the Sect who flies solo with no navigator, is weary of him on the account of the psychological tricks his uncle had played on him over the years, and refuses to openly oppose him.
However, he somehow manages to engage in a never ending rivalry with a mysterious courier airship coming from the city of Lotus Pier during a mission. Time after time Jin Ling grows curious of both the pilot and navigator of the ship, known as the Two Prides of the Yunmeng region: Wei WuXian and Jiang Cheng, who deliver messages for the aristocrats of the many lands and isolated cities under Gusu’s control. But one day Jin Ling engages in battle with them more out of boredom than anything else, forcing them to seek refuge on the battleship Baxia from the Unclean Realm.
On the ship, Wei WuXian and Jiang Cheng are treated as intruders, surveilled closely by the best pilot in Gusu, Lan WangJi. His cold demeanor and appearance at odds with his brother’s: Lan XiChen, the first officer of the Baxia, who manages to keep the captain from sending the couriers flying off the ship only thanks to his good nature and penchant for diplomacy. Nie MingJue, in fact, has long ago started a feud with Jin GuangYao and doesn’t have time for lost pilots seeking help under his jurisdiction. Not anymore.
Baxia and it’s crew have nothing to do with the war between Gusu and Qishan and the captain see nothing useful in making useless civilians a charity case.
When he hears this, Wei WuXian offers to help, if nothing to provide his adoptive brother Jiang Cheng with a chance to heal after being injured in the battle with Jin Ling so that both of them could eventually get back to Yunmeng in one piece. Nie MingJue, too preoccupied with his revenge to care, orders him around with impossible tasks and asks Lan WangJi to keep an eye on him.
Without a navigator, the only thing Wei WuXian can do is trying to befriend Lan WangJi and convince him of his talent, asking him to be his navigator. The other refuses, having being a solo pilot ever since his brother became Baxia’s executive officer, and merely accepts to back him up in every new mission while on different ships. One day they save two pilot siblings seeking asylum from Qishan, Wen Qing and Wen Ning, who reveal that their nation has surrendered long ago, but that the attacks from Gusu had never stopped, forcing their nation to travel across the Grand Stream winds above Burial Mounds, the stripe of land between Gusu and Qishan. The siblings have no idea whether their family is safe or not, and both Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi suspect something is wrong.
As they discuss the matter hiding in a mountain cave close to Burial Mounds, shielding from the storm as they wait to send a light signal up in the air for Baxia to intercept, Lan WangJi decides to take Wen Qing abroad his ship and Wei WuXian will do the same with Wen Ning since the siblings’ airship has broken down.
But, as soon as the storm gets to an end, Jin Ling arrives and wreaks havoc in the cave. Wei WuXian keeps him occupied so that Lan WangJi and Wen Qing can fly back to Baxia and send help to the cave. However, the last thing Lan WangJi sees is the Yunmeng ship being swallowed by the strong winds over Burial Mounds, both Wei WuXian and Wen Ning luring Jin Ling in the midst of the Grand Stream to distract him.
Little do they know that Jin Ling has been ordered to seek out the two fugitive messengers from Quishan all along and he is actually the one luring Wei WuXian’s ship away from safety and deep into the clutches of the Lanling Jin Sect’s floating ship: Koi Tower.
Surrounded by luxury and riches, Wei WuXian and Wen Ning don’t even know if Maestro Jin GuangYao is playing with them or if they are actually too insignificant to be considered a threat. The leader of the Sect shows them around and waxes poetry over the work he has implemented to maintain peace for all these years, painting rogue captains like Nie MingJue as the real culprits as the only warmongers among them. Wei WuXian finally meets Jin Ling after so many air battles, hiding behind his golden helmet, and he is terrified to notice how much he resembles Jiang Cheng. The same eyes, the same grumpiness and ruthless behavior. Suddenly he remembers how Jiang Cheng’s older sister had disappeared after her marriage with a mysterious man who had escaped the Sect’s wrath fifteen years prior. A man who even Jiang Cheng didn’t dare name out of anger for seducing his sister away from Yunmeng and everything she knew. The realization that Jin Ling, around fourteen years old, could be Jiang Cheng’s nephew hits Wei WuXian as he gets to know the kid ten years his junior.
On the Baxia, Lan XiChen is notified of Wei WuXian’s disappearance and talks extensively with Wen Qing about the situation in Qishan. He realizes the Lanling Jin Sect must have purposefully mislead Gusu’s officials into believing Nightless City had refused to surrender despite everything.
After talking with his younger brother on the matter, XiChen decided to go back to Cloud Recesses, Gusu’s capital, and ask their uncle Emperor Lan QuiRen for forgiveness after temporary fleeing from home and his responsibilities as heir. Despite his wish to see Lan WangJi living a free life in the sky instead of being married off to some stranger because of some political alliances, taking his younger brother away to protect him has been Lan XiChen’s only fault and he needs to go back to Gusu and speak the truth about the wrongdoings of the Lanling Jin Sect.
He says his farewell to Nie MingJue, now blinded by rage towards Jin GuangYao, and leaves for Cloud Recesses with an heavy heart.
On Koi Tower, however, Wei WuXian learns Jin Ling’s mother is still alive and well: turns out her husband had been part of the Lanling Jin Sect and had decided to flee Koi Tower to pursue a normal life with this woman who had hidden him from the Sect’s search parties over and over again. Both Jin Ling’s parents had been sought out in the end and the man was killed for his betrayal, while the woman was allowed to live and raise their son. Jiang Cheng’s sister hadn’t been kidnapped then: she had simply tried to protect her lover and her family in Yunmeng from the Sect’s wrath all along!
Wei WuXian doesn’t have time to ask where his adoptive sister is that Jin Ling is summoned by Jin GuangYao for his coming of age ceremony.
In the meantime Lan WangJi worries over Wei WuXian’s wellbeing and plans his escape to go find him all the way to Koi Tower to get him back. Nie MingJue doesn’t yet know that his best pilot is planning to leave him alone, but Jiang Cheng –now completely healed and fueled by rage– decided to join as Lan WangJi’s navigator. The two of them leave with the promise to bring Wen Ning back as well, as long as Wen Qing will be able to keep the captain from finding out.
They leave for the Grand Stream and hope for the best.
Jin Ling is terrified of the prospect of facing his coming of age ceremony, if nothing because he knows he can’t disappoint Jin GuangYao in front of the entire Sect. His mother’s life depends on him and he has to fulfill his uncle wishes on matter what. A tournament takes place and Jin Ling must win. The more he strikes, the less human he feels, unaware of the too deep wounds on his body as he slices his way through the competition. As final proof of his nephew’s loyalty, Jin GuangYao coaxes him closer and orders him to kill the two visitors the boy himself had brought in Koi Tower. But having befriended them over the course of their captivity, Jin Ling hesitates and his uncle cuts his throat in front of the entire Sect.
Horrified, Wei WuXian comes to the rescue and snatches the boy away from there, pressing down on his wound to keep him alive. Wen Ning defends them as they escape, but he is intercepted by the leader’s personal guard, Xue Yang, who fights with him as WuXian and Jin Ling looks for his mother in Koi Tower.
Having finally noticed Lan WangJi’s disappearance, Nie MingJue decides to strike Koi Tower at once: foreseeing his betrayal, he had planted a transmitter on his airship that will lead Baxia straight to Koi Tower, which location has been unknown for over ten years.
Lan WangJi finally arrives and finds Wei WuXian as the other is trying to sneak out Jin Ling and his mother out of Koi Tower. Jiang Cheng doesn’t waste time in pleasantries, too shocked after discovering the truth, that decides to take his sister and injured nephew back on land before it’s too late. Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi find Wen Ning after he has successfully killed Xue Yang and the three of them look for a way to escape. Having left Jiang Cheng with the only ship available, Wei WuXian wants to find the one he and Wen Ning have arrived on Koi Tower with, but they don’t know where that might be.
As they hide in Koi Tower looking for it, Nie MingJue arrives on Baxia and is surrounded by Sect disciples and captured. While he is interrogated by Jin GuangYao, Wei WuXian sneaks around and witness the interaction: discovering Jin GuangYao has killed Nie HuaiSang ten years ago, forcing the boy’s older brother MingJue to seek revenge. Wei WuXian also find out that the Grand Stream is controlled by the Sect thanks to a mysterious stone, the Stygian Metal, and that only once in possession of this one can extinguish the deadly winds slicing through the stirpe of land that is Burial Mounds. Nie MingJue has known this all along, after his younger brother has successfully infiltrated the Sect and send him a message before his death, but being a rogue captain uninterested with the current war, he had kept silent for years. Maybe Gusu and Qishan could have been allies against the Sect all along if not for the captain’s stubborn silence on the matter.
Humoring his nemesis until his least breath, Nie MingJue is able to kick Jin GuangYao from the stairs even if tied up, giving Wei WuXian the chance to kill the Sect leader and get the Stygian Metal from the pendant around his neck.
Having changed master, the pendant refuses to accept Wei WuXian as a new Maestro, making Koi Tower’s antigravity core useless against the strong winds of the Grand Stream underneath the ship. But Lan WangJi finds him and starts to incessantly recite a string of lyrics from a chant his brother Lan XiChen had taught him before departing. A chant aimed to control the Stygian Metal: another piece of information that Nie HuaiSang had sent to Baxia but that a younger Lan XiChen had intercepted first. The first officer of the Baxia used to be a mere refugee at the time, along with his younger brother, and hoped to force Nie MingJue to keep them on the Baxia in exchange for the last message from Nie HuaiSang regarding the chant to control the pendant. In the end, the captain had preferred to let him have that information instead, so that if Nie MinJue himself were to be held captive by either Gusu or Qishan, none of the two nations could extract that secret from him and abuse the power of the pendant.
Having kept the secret for ten years, Lan XiChen had finally entrusted it to WangJi before leaving for Gusu and send a fleet to back the Baxia.
With extreme effort, both Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi finally control the pendant and manage to slowly lower Koi Tower to the ground as they diminish the Grand Stream to a mere whisper of wind.
Refusing to reveal the details of their success, neither Wei WuXian or Lan WangJi say a word about the pendant and decide to destroy it instead, Lan XiChen keeps the secret as he is crowned Emperor of Gusu and sends help to the starving nation of Qishan. Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi leave for Lotus Pier in the Yunmeng region before helping the Wen siblings to find the remains of their clan in Burial Mounds.
The sky has never been clearer.
–the end.

MDZS ch.99
I am so nervous I can’t even begin to explain guys, people keep telling me these chapters are gonna break me and i am like do i want to go through with this? do i? well, apparently, yes.
But he didn’t know that after Lan WangJi, Wen Ning, and he departed from Lotus Pier, Jin Ling secretly went to find him. Realizing he was gone, he threw a tantrum at his uncle who ran madly around, making people unsheathe their swords. He criticized that Wei WuXian ran away all because of him, and Jiang Cheng slammed him on the ground right after. And so, Jin Ling decided that he might as well do everything, taking Fairy to trace Wei WuXian’s tracks.
nxhwkdydo BABE. T-that’s my boy, I- I am touched omg- HE WENT AFTER WWX. HE WENT A G A I N S T HIS UNCLE. FOR WWX.
Guys I love Jin Ling so much, I need him safe and warm and protected somewhere away from here xkshxkshzkai
EDIT:
Jin GuangYao, “Find it and kill it. The dog’s quite bright. It wouldn’t do us well if it led someone over.”
YOU ATROCIOUS BASTARD, IF FAIRY DIES-
THAT’S IT, YOU’RE HOPELESS IF YOU’RE EVEN GOING AFTER A DOG, I WANNA STRANGLE YOU
EDIT 2:
Jin GuangYao asked instead, “A-Ling, what are you doing here?”
Jin Ling glanced at Wei WuXian, unsure of how to respond. Suddenly, Lan XiChen spoke up, “Sect Leader Jin, Jin Ling is still a child.”
(I'M SO NERVOUS RN
JL not saying he was worried about wwx is so sweet and angsty, I need them to talk it through in a calm and peaceful environment, so KILL JGY AND GO
Lxc won't let anything bad happen to you. I know. He wouldn’t.)
Jin GuangYao broke into a smile, “Brother, what are you thinking? Of course, I know Jin Ling’s not only a child but my nephew as well. What did you think I’d do? Silence him by murder?”
(honestly? Yeah. That's what all of us is thinking, you bitch. So try to fool someone else)
EDIT 3:
Jin GuangYao turned around, “They still haven’t dug it up yet? Tell the people inside to hurry up!”
What the hell is he even doing
EDIT 4: again, why does it always look like when the bad and the good guys are talking, it’s like they met up for tea, i love this easy going/killing intent atmosphere
Lan XiChen, “It was quite a shame. I was fooled by lies and lost my spiritual powers. Even though I carry Shuoyue and Liebing, they will not be of much help.”
Wei WuXian, “No need to feel ashamed. After all, lying is one of LianFang-Zun’s greatest skills.”
There, THERE, lxc didn't betray anyone, of course, and wwx managed to tell him not to feel sorry with a couple of words, I love them.
EDIT 5:
Jin GuangYao ordered the monks, “Lay out an array. When HanGuang-Jun comes later, stop him as long as you can.”
Wei WuXian, “How are you so sure that HanGuang-Jun would come?”
(Wwx. Darling. Even walls know.)
Lan XiChen, “Young Master Wei, if WangJi is around, why is he not with you?”
Wei WuXian, “We’re acting separately.”
Lan XiChen, however, paused in surprise, “I heard you injured yourself when you left Burial Mound. Why would he act separately with you at such a time?”
(I know lxc, I know. That's the kind of obliviousness I dealt with for almost a hundred chapters. Pls be patient with him)
Jin GuangYao found this strange, “You two got two rooms?”
Wei WuXian, “Who told you we’d definitely get one room?”
(okay, this- ptf- this is a bit funny, okay? The thought of lxc chatting with jgy about his brother's affection for wwx... dunno, it's funny how, even if they are enemies, they all look at wwx like "are you serious? different rooms? please")
EDIT 6:
However, there was no joking tone in Lan XiChen’s voice, “Young Master Wei, did something happen between you two?”
LXC ONE-TRACKED MIND SCREAMING "PROTECT BABY BROTHER" and wwx reminding him that this arc's enemy is watching and smiling at them? I'll add this to the reasons why I love this novel
EDIT 7:
Jin GuangYao, “Of course not. I just had to comment. HanGuang-Jun spent so many years in yearning, and even today he hasn’t gotten his happy ending yet. Not only does Sect Leader Lan have a good reason to feel impatient, even an outsider can’t bear watching it.”
SERIOUSLY
SERIOUSLY?!?!
Ekxywkxuwluxoeudos
IS JGY AMONG EVERYONE GOING TO SAY IT?
REALLY?
I'M FREAKING OUT
IS THIS THE WAY WWX WILL FIND OUT-
I REFUSE
THIS IS NOT HAPPENING RN N O T H A P P E N I N G
This is not fair.
I WANNA STEP OF JGY'S FACE SO BAD
EDIT 8: wwx is getting angsty (AND IT’S BREAKING MY HEART TO SEE HIM LIKE THIS, LIKE HE IS HURT AND HOPEFUL AT THE SAME TIME) and lxc and jgy don't understand if he is playing dumb or not. I know guys, i know, but he is really that oblivious, you need to be patient. JUST NOT NOW, OKAY? AND IT'S NOT ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS LET WWX AND LWJ SPEAK ABOUT IT- tho, if no one explains it to wwx, the truth will never find the light.
WHAT SHOULD I HOPE FOR-
EDIT 9:
Lan XiChen was shocked, “Young Master Wei, could it be that even after you spent such a long time together with WangJi, you still do not know of his feelings?”
SHIT IT'S HAPPENING. OMG I need to pause for a sec.
*breathes*
YEAH RIGHT PAUSE, AS IF
EDIT 10: OMG OMG OMG WWX BABE
EDIT 11:
Wei WuXian, “Whip scars?!” He grabbed Lan XiChen again, “Sect Leader Lan, I really don’t know. Please tell me, just how did he get those injuries? How could they possibly be related to me?!?”
Anger could be seen on Lan XiChen’s face, “If it were not related to you, could he have done those to himself without a reason?!”
i knew it. I'm sobbing so hard. it was so obvious. omg this is too painful, i can't bear it.
EDIT 12:
But after he scrutinized Wei WuXian’s expression, he suppressed some of his anger, trying, “Your… memory is damaged?”
DAMAGED what wait no i'm not ready for this, too. i am not ready to find out about the rest of wwx's story pls-
EDIT 13:
Wei WuXian murmured, “The time at Nightless City? I-I’ve always thought I somehow walked back on my own. Could it be…”
I don't understand, what is lxc trying to say, i'm scared of reading the rest. I don't want to. Help help help i don't want to read but I wanna know-
I'm thinking something very atrocious right now and I don't want it to be confirmed. a part of me hypothesised that maybe lwj hadn't been there when wwx died, which sounded kinda impossible, but if it's like this...
EDIT 14: this is so, so sad and yet so lwj. he limped after him in the battlefield, followed him, gave him his spiritual energy. how in love lwj is, one can never truly marvel at the strength of his feelings for wwx, or imagine how hard it must have been for him to do the right thing and fight against his love while trying to protect him. I'm crying so hard I just... *takes a deep breath and keeps reading*
EDIT 15: omg
EDIT 16: No no no no no
EDIT 17: this is not true. Omg pls stop talking, lxc.
EDIT 18: NO NO NO NO NO OMG I can feel my heart breaking and it's killing me. God, he wasn't there when wwx died. Pls
EDIT 19: OMG OMG OMG I'M DYING ISLXJELCW I JUST IMAHSLAnxjsmzjslsjxow
EDIT 20:
... In his whole life he had been honest and righteous and immaculate—you were the only mistake he made! ...
this is... i think this is the climax of it all, this is, in a way, so painful and so beautiful, i need to think about this for a while and i am loving lxc more than i could ever imagine
EDIT 21: okay no no no no no no no wait- I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL TO WRITE GUYS PLS HOW WHY IT'S NOT WWX'S FAULT, HE DIDN'T TRICK LWJ HE JUST DIDN'T KNOW AND YES HE WAS AN ASS BUT-
EDIT 22: lwj iS WHERE SORRY HE IS HERE???? DJSHZJUWHD HE HEARD?? OMG stop this. Stop this right now. This angst is too much TOO MUCH BUT OF COURSE, SINCE MXTX GAVE US SMUT NOW SHE'S TRYING TO KILL US
EDIT 23:
But with nervousness, Wei WuXian felt all of the things he wanted to say crumple up inside of his stomach. His abdomen cramped. He could only murmur, “… Lan Zhan.”
Please- *holds her breath*
EDIT 24:
Lan WangJi’s gaze landed on Wei WuXian’s neck. His face paled slightly.
An almost unnoticeable guqin string, light and golden, was tied around Wei WuXian’s neck.
I'm gonna throw up from anxiety. I'm dying. THIS CAN'T HAPPEN NOW, AFTER ALL THAT'S BEEN SAID. someone takes that thing away from wwx and freaking CRASH JGY. CRASH HIM. THAT BASTARD HAD IT ALL PLANNED OUT, DISTRACTING EVERYONE WITH THAT. CRASH HIM NOW.
