I finally finished my cabinet for my (secondary) hifi setup in my room! It's taken me about a week an a half to make, it's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with it! It has a built in power strip and audio output switcher.

Walked into my local thrift this afternoon before heading across the street to the dreaded WalMart for 3 cans of compressed air that I need for my shelf refinishing project (my air compressor is temporarily out of commission). Went in looking for some records. Today, no records were out. But I found this pair of Koss 727B cans for $5. Figured even if they didn't work they'd be cool wall art or something. They work and definitely have a unique sound to them. Think they're best suited for jazz, easy listening, spoken, & classical type stuff. The sound is very airy. I first listened to Zappa's "Camarillo Brillo" which is a song I've heard often so it was an immediate observation, as it pulled the sound differently than I ever heard. Then I spun the first side of the Big Walnuts Yonder LP. Now I'm spinning the Bedazzled soundtrack again as that's a mix of jazz & classical... and this is the record that plays best on these headphones to my ears. Interestingly, these don't need much power to push them loud, unlike my Pro/4AA's. I also found a pair of Technics SB-L71 speakers circa 1982/3 for $10 that I couldn't pass up for some reason. Haven't tested them yet. If they aren't destroyed I'll use them in the office for play testing while I refoam my smaller (and therefore better for my office) Infinity Sterling SS-2005 speakers I've been using for the past few months that some lady gave me this winter. #LP #Vinyl #Records #Headphones #Cans #Koss #Koss727B

Help I'm becoming a hipster! First it was cassette tapes, then vinyl, and now I've gone an bought myself a retro dress and vintage headphones to go along with my vintage hifi!
