He organizes protests, speaks out against corrupt government nature, and uses his Spider-man status to fight for what is truly right, even if it puts a target on his back.

When it comes down to his relationship, advocacy plays a big part in it. You and him work together to fight for what's right, and that means the world to him. Even if you can't do most of what he can (because he is, in fact, Spider-man), it still makes the world of a difference when you do what you can. Hobie knows that this sort of fight, this fight against a government that doesn't want him around, is one of the most difficult he will ever face. So having someone there by his side? Fighting with him? Cheering him on? Means a lot more than words can describe.

Communication is something Hobie has always sought out in his life. The idea that a relationship he worked so hard to build on could crumble from a simple misunderstanding is scary to him. But over time, it started becoming a piece of cake. At least until the bigger government problems presented itself. But fighting to keep the streets safe is something Hobie loves doing. It feels like he's doing his part for the people, even if that was something pushed onto him.

You, as his partner, are the one constantly pushing him to keep going and reminding him what he stands for. Said job as a city hero isn't easy, even for Hobie Brown. There was even a time when he tried to quit. Give it all up, because he was just so damn tired. But you didn't let him. It took a lot to remind Hobie that he's also doing this for himself. To remind him that he's doing so much and that you were so proud of everything he stands for. It was enough to get him back on his feet, keep him going when it comes to being the people's hero. Hobie never forgets your encouraging words, they always keep him going.

Hobie values all the relationships he makes; platonic and romantic. He was lonely for a small time in his life, and it hurt him in ways he'll never forget. So his relationship with his partner will always be a priority. He'll never just jump into a relationship, he has to make sure this is someone he can see himself loving, committing to, forever holding close to him. But he'll never choose to love someone because of their looks, gender, sexuality, anything. The only preference he truly has is when it comes to personality and political beliefs (being an anarchist, he just can't see himself being with someone who isn't). Regardless, Hobie's partner will always have a feeling of love buzzing within them, solely because of how loving and loyal he truly is.

When it comes to you. Hobie is so incredibly in love. He takes no shit about it, and will defend you whenever he needs to. He's also somewhat over-protective, despite being very secure in the relationship. It's a comfort thing, is what he says when you ask. Hobie isn't afraid to show his love to you, though he does it more in private. He doesn't care what others think of him, but he also very much doesn't want you in such a harsh limelight (being how hated he is by the government). He only ever wants what is best for you, and will do a lot to make sure you have everything you deserve and more.

I’ve had a rethink. I think Face-off is now my favourite song on the album.

Set Me Free Pt 2 is still top 3, but Jimin’s enunciation on Face-off brings a smile to my face every time I hear it because that man is too damn sassy for his own good lool.

In the latest Suchwita episode, Hobi revealed that Jimin practiced live singing six hours everyday before and during FACE promotions.

Six hours. Every day.

That made me pause. I started thinking about everything that happened during FACE. I don't talk about this at all here because I won't ever share personal pictures and I know I was incredibly lucky and many other people here likely deserved to see him before I did, but I saw Jimin live during his very first shows for FACE.

He was so happy. The joy on his face and the way he worked the crowd... like a fish in water. He gave some of the best performances of the year during FACE promotions. The whole project and the thoughtful way he went about promoting the album, is noteworthy.

But then I remembered the BS, the way k-pop stans reacted to the album, to the MVs, to the encore stage, the way BTS akgaes indulged in their sociopathy on his account, how BigHit failed (the anger Jimin biases feel is justified but some of y'all are wallowing in it). I remembered a few of Jimin's Wlives, how so much has been going on for him this year, and then tried to fit 6 hours daily practicing into it...

I have to stop myself when I think about Jimin. He has such latent intensity, like a glamour, a force field around him... it's like a black hole that sucks everything, including you, into him and his world. It scares me.

I know I whine about Jimin biases but y'all amaze me ngl. It takes a special fortitude of heart to bias Jimin. This post already sounds incredibly effusive, but I don't believe I'm exaggerating when I say he's a truly beautiful person. It's almost as though the world does not deserve him. It's impossible to not love him, desire him, care for him... want more sooner for him. I see all that, but I also see that man is stubborn as fuck.

He took his time to start work on his solo album. The middle of the Vegas concerts is when he said he suddenly came to his senses, shook himself out of that trance, and earnestly started putting together the FACE project. He'd written songs before, but FACE was its own thing. The personal stories he chose to communicate, the care in lyricism and production, the quality... Jimin created art in FACE and trusted that those who care for nothing but the best, will love it.

That's sexy, but the way he went about it also betrays a conservatism in him. It's a shadow of the edge in him, that thing about him that causes a tinge of anxiety when you watch him too closely.

I'm not sure if I'm making sense, but what I mean to say is you need a special kind of courage to bias and love Jimin. I recognize that. When I write what I do here, I always remember that. I also have very little respect for solos. And those two sentiments aren't mutually exclusive.

But taking it back to Face-off, my favourite thing about it is Jimin's sense of humour and skill coming through in the song, as well as how he enunciates his words. To really hear the switch in his tone, you need to stream in this order:

Like Crazy > Alone > Set Me Free Pt 2 > Face-off

By the time you get to Face-off, Jimin's voice has already gone through every variation possible, but then he brings out a tone I've heard only one other artist do well (Rihanna), and that tone is disgust.

Pure, refined sass. And he's already got the sauciest voice in k-pop.

The melodic and tonal choices Jimin makes at these timestamps fucks with my head:

Europe is where Jimin belongs, but America would eat Jimin up too. The country already does if we're being real, America already loves Jimin. As I've said before, if you feel inclined to communicate that to BigHit, I strongly suggest you do.

During Suchwita, Hobi showed how he's planned content for fans almost years in advance. It's possible Jimin does this too, planning music and content for fans to see months later... (So we might not learn why he went to London, for months...)

Shit can't get worse than BB deleting D2C sales so on the bright side, we can only go up from here, and for Jimin who already owns the record as the first soloist in history to debut #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, up will be a good spot to be.

i decided i literally can’t just pick a top 5 like...i’m incapable. how do you even compare all of these songs that are all so different? like it was hard enough for just those 34 title tracks the other week...so i’m doing 4 lists. group b-sides, unit songs, vocal line solos, and rap line solos. and i’m gonna be more chill on the whole only sound matters thing lol because there are a lot of reasons why i’m attached to some of these songs. i’ll try to explain them but it won’t always be sound related. the only rules i’m using are 1.) the song must be on spotify and 2.) BTS or a member of BTS must be the main artist.

i’m gonna start with unit songs because those were actually easiest to pick?

1. dimple

look i was really truly...choosing between this song and #2 is basically impossible, i would say they’re tied but i’m giving this #1 because it’s the only vocal line song on here lol. but also it’s everything to me, PERFECT pop song, super catchy AND quality, like it sounds amazing and yet it’s about kim namjoon’s very own dimples. like sometimes i forget what it’s about and then it gets to the bridge and i realize they’re being this dramatic about fucking dimples and i start laughing i just can’t believe it. that continues to be a theme here i love songs that make me laugh. although i do understand them being that dramatic about namjoon’s dimples like have you SEEN them? but anyway the BEST thing about this song, and i’m not sure if i have the words to explain this properly, is all the SOUNDS going on all the time. and they’re all on like entirely different rhythms, it doesn’t seem like any of them go together or with the vocals but then they DO. like it’s incredible to me whoever produced this i love you. matthew tishler (i’m SCREAMING actually this guy writes for like disney channel shows idk how to feel about that) and crash cove. i love you both. and you gave us such a satisfying voluptuous bass line. perfect song. strong power. thank you.

the feeling i get when i hear the first few notes of UGH! is simply unmatched. like it doesn’t matter what i was doing or how chill i was before then, now it is time to thrash. when rap line says LET’S GO!!! it is time to fucking go okay??? i am always thrown off by the gunshots though, especially at the end. like what’s the point of those my friends

i was actually going to have another top 5 list with collabs but i thought that would be excessive and this is also a unit song so i’m just putting it here. this song is one my ultimate faves because of the...i don’t even know if i can call it bass it’s more of like a rumble? like it kind of reminds me of a sound they would use in an EDM or dubstep song but like, super chilled out. and you know how the sound you hear is just your tiny little ear bones rattling in your eardrum? i feel like this sound rattles all of them in such a satisfying way like one of those coway massage chairs. like when you have a part of your body that you just KNOW you have to stretch but no matter how much you do it it feels the same but then one day you FINALLY bend it the right way and it stops? is that just a me thing? that is this song for me i gotta feel it in me ear bones every once in a while to be satisfied. and then on TOP of that the synth just reminds me of like, simply having a wonderful christmastime? not at all a similar song but i get a kind of wintery comforting feeling from that. ummm. i never really thought much about the lyrics until now, looks like namgi are talking about their love for their work lol but like...this is a sexy vibe...namjoon saying “come to my studio, magic happens” “seat-belts are fastened” “we keep ridin’ the whole night hold on tight” in THAT voice over THAT instrumental...he knows what he’s doing. i cannot be held responsible for my thoughts about this. and since there’s no performance or mv or anything to play in my head for this song i have NO choice but to imagine sitting on a basement couch with the artist made mikrokosmos mood lamp by jungkook on getting high with namgi and mayhaps we are eating ramen. before we move on VERY quickly i gotta shout out Juice WRLD for “need an ARMY, marching for your love, i’m a sergeant” because that is hiLARIOUS and “if it’s not your name comin’ up on my phone i won’t pick up the call” as someone who also HATES talking on the phone unless i’m super close to a person. like his whole verse is sweet and his voice is so interesting it’s got like a whininess to it that i wouldn’t expect to fit into the song but it does. i should listen to more of his stuff maybe

4. Stay

the PRODUCTION on this thing oh wow wow wow. again not that i know anything about production. but like, to put this in perspective, i’m not really into EDM or club music or whatever i’m supposed to call this. i wasn’t really into that era of pop music or most of the bts songs with that kind of sound but THIS. SONG. it’s really just the way it builds so smoothly from something so simple and ebbs and flows, it is PERFECT. i will definitely be following that producer (arston) and hoping he does more for bts one day. thank you for finishing out the be album with a bang what do you mean there’s another track on the be album. and then on TOP of that, such a sweet song, great vocals from jinkook, and namjoon’s iconic line “we connect to 7g!” i’ve made peace with the fact that they didn’t sing that part during ptd i can only assume the power of the crowd screaming that line would have been dangerous. power would’ve gone out concert over. cell towers fall down now none of us are connecting to 7g. boo

i love that you can really hear how far into development these songs were before putting them into this album. some, re: heungtan sonyeondan and inu, were put together earlier in development and thus are more rough sketches and minimal 'meat', only there to provide the general idea of what they want. sthing to show bang pd or sthing to wake up the next morning to polish. esp when you compare them to epiphany and spring day, practically full songs w professional sounding instrumentals already. while they are much more polished, you can hear all of the thought sope put into seesaw and dna even you can hear some are clearly midi w their standard settings before recorded w better software/more tinkering or a live band. i think it also speaks to the type of writers they are. joon seems like the type to want things down asap before he goes back to fix things, while yoongi is the type to tinker w sthing making sure its basically perfect before showing it off to the world, and hobi has the minutiae detail work to add things while he goes.

Ever since their debut, BTS have continued to sing for ARMY, going beyond the boundaries of South Korea and Japan to flourish on the global stage as well. Taking the opportunity of the release of their best - album “BTS, THE BEST,” we asked them to speak on their preferences about song making, the struggles they’ve faced, and the things they’ve been thinking about with their future activities in mind.

Come to think of it, it’s been around 7~8 years since you first received an offer to sell your albums overseas (note: Japan), but do you remember how you felt back then? 

Jimin: I do remember. At the time, sunbae artists who were famous in South Korea were doing their activities overseas. I recall how excited we were to also extend our activities overseas.

Hobi: Back then, we were excited over literally anything.

Yoongi: It made me feel like we were joining and becoming one of the superstars.

Namjoon: It was very tough for us back then, however. Singing in a language that we’re not used to itself was a source of pressure for us.  

Until now, Jung Kook has been involved in making 2 Japanese original tracks, Your Eyes Tell and Film out. Was anything different from the usual because of a member participating in the song(making)?

Jin: First of all, each team and songwriter has their styles/tendencies for songs. So because we’ve gotten in sync with each other, and become one with our songwriters, there are sometimes melodies that align with us better than with other songwriters sensitivity-wise — I guess you can call it the BTS style? 

Jimin: I guess it’s easier to practice with, and it’s easier to pull out our emotions while singing. Jung Kook-san makes amazing songs, so they made me think about how (the songs Jung Kook made) are like the “model answers,” during our recordings.

How was Film out, the result of a collaboration with Japanese rock band back number?

Jung Kook: There weren’t any lyrics when I listened to the guide demo at first, and it was sung as “La la la la” from the beginning to the end. I started working on it to get a sense of the song, by putting my own lyrics on it and organizing it out. It’s an honor to be able to collaborate with amazing artists, and I’m really happy about it. It would be great if we could have more of these opportunities in the future as well.

So, how do you feel about it now after singing Film out?

Jimin: It was difficult to sing, but I think it’s a really great song. It made me learn (a lot of things) while singing. 

Taehyung: I think the same way as well. It was my first time singing a song like this.

Jung Kook: There’s a wide variety of song genres in the world. There are a lot of genres we still haven’t touched, and I think this song was one of those. It was a new song for both the members and myself -- we were able to learn a lot, get a good experience, and ultimately come out with a good song.

Jin: It’s true that it’s a genre we’ve never tried, and because it’s left such a deep impression in us, we start singing “Lalalalalalala~ ♪” whenever we make eye contact with each other.

Everyone: “Lalalalalalala ~♪”

Jung Kook: And when we sang this song, we were able to discover a new side of the rapline members.

Namjoon: Yeah, like “The two glass cups placed side by side ~ “ (Joon’s part). It was a unique rap.

Jung Kook: They usually don’t rap in this style, but they did it this time to fit the song.

Taehyung: Looking at the members fills me with an indescribable emotion -- that they hold infinite potential. 

As BTS has expanded their reach globally, fans around the world have started listening to the songs you sing. How do you take in this phenomenon of BTS’ music spreading to the entire world?

Namjoon: It’s a wonderful thing. We’re grateful that so many people around the world are listening to our songs. I think it’s proving what we’ve always wanted to believe. I’m thankful from the bottom of my heart. 

You’ve increasingly immersed yourself in music production/writing these days, but what’s the song making process always like? Do you have any favorite methods?

Yoongi: I sometimes record on my phone, but I also carry around equipment, so I usually create my songs using that. I’ve also been learning the guitar, so I sometimes use the guitar as well — I use a lot of methods to write.

Hobi: I often use the recording function on my smartphone. Any time a melody pops up in my mind, I record it and use that to make my songs later.

Jung Kook: For me, I don’t really use my phone. I really enjoy recording melodies and lyrics, without the track, with all of the equipment set in place.

Jimin: I’m gonna try that as well! I think it’ll work well for me (laugh)!

Namjoon: I can’t play any instruments, so I feel like I’d be able to create a much better song out of the things that pop into my mind when I’m working with people that are skilled at playing instruments. (laugh)

Taehyung: I also record melodies on my phone, and start refining the details later.

Do you have each other listen to the completed songs, and exchange your opinions?

Yoongi: Yes. We share them with everyone, and have each other listen. I sometimes ask the others to listen to things I’ve made.

Jimin: We asked each other “I made this song but what do you think?” and completed (the songs) by giving advice and saying things like “Ah, that sounds good.”

Are they any musical things you want to challenge yourself with in the future?

Yoongi: along with the guitar, I’m thinking of learning how to play the drums as well

Namjoon: Looking forward to that! With music, every moment is a challenge. So there aren’t specific things I want to try, but I want to sing a lot of songs. Do lots of vocals, do lots of rap..

Jung Kook: In that case, I might try taking rapping lessons.

Jin: I’ll start rapping from today as well (laugh).

Jimin: I also want to improve on my singing, and on my rapping as well (laugh).

Hobi: I think it’s best for me to keep pouring my heart into what I’ve been doing up until now. As for things I want to do, dancing is my strength so I’d like to expand on that and do something that merges dancing and music.

Jung Kook: There’s not a specific genre in mind but I want to become a skilled and versatile artist 

Jin: I’m not good at grasping the rhythm, so it might be a good idea for me to try working with a song that has a (strong) sense of rhythm.

Hobi: I think your sense of rhythm is great!

Taehyung: It’s impossible in my current life, but in my afterlife, I want to become a classical pianist. I actually took lessons from 6th grade to 9th grade. I was scared of the piano keys back then, but looking back, I’d realized just how much I truly loved it.

Jimin: Why do you think it’s impossible in your current life? If you start trying hard now you’ll probably be able to do it!

Taehyung: Thank you (laugh).

While more people are increasingly listening to BTS music year by year, do you ever feel that the weight of the words and messages you spread through your music is also becoming heavier?

Namjoon: There is pressure. But we plan on continuing to spread words that we feel the world needs, so I want to keep on doing it without viewing it as a burden/pressure. I think it’s the best way.

Jimin: I believe that “that” kind of pressure is relatively small. Of course, we can’t compare the struggles and pain that we feel to people around the world, but I think we all are the same -- the souls, the lives that we have, we share it all. Because we’re all the same human beings. 

Hobi: It does make us worry sometimes, but I think it’s a positive thing to spread messages through music. Being able to incorporate messages into music is a beautiful thing, and within the things that we have the ability to carry out, it’s a good thing. So I want to enjoy it as much as we can, and try not to be so scared of it.

Jung Kook: Like we’ve been doing up until now, I want to do/perform the music that we want to do, while conveying messages that can have a good influence. We’re artists that are loved by so many people, and so we hold a large amount of influence and power to communicate. I want to keep on spreading good messages to lots of people and enjoy it without thinking of it too much as a pressure.

Jin: Even with things that can’t really be verbalized, it’s possible to communicate them through music. Furthermore, that message can be interpreted and received in many ways so I think it’s a thing to be happy about.

Taehyung: For me, the most important thing is to spread messages that can become a source of healing and empathy for as many people as possible. So wouldn’t it be the best if we could communicate these feelings of empathy and healing without feeling any pressure? I would like to do that with music.

Yoongi: The number of people listening to our music is amplifying, so I want to deliver music with a theme that can be empathized with a lot of people. I think creating (music) in our own way is BTS’ style, so I’m working as hard as I can to make music.

JM JK timeline.- my observations how they grew over the years

Disclaimer: these are my own opinions and conclusions.  Feel free to disagree, but hate or aggression will be unacceptable.

2017 - Part 3

Ooh, we have reached a major event here.  Serendipity. 4 September 2017, or is it 1 September 2017 (??), as I will explain bellow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEMaH9Sm3lQ&t=16s .  

Or what I like to call:  JM’s love ode to JK.

Now tell me this: If Jimin’s song Serendipity was released 4th September 2017, and uploaded to BangtanTv on 5th September 2017, why is the date stamped on the MV 1 Sep 2017? 

 Does that date mean something? Let me think for a second….oh, it does, doesn’t it?  It’s someone’s birthday !!!

JM tells us himself: “All of this isn’t just a coincidence”.

Serendipity is a beautiful love song, and I honestly believe it is JM’s love ode to JK, a birthday present to his love.  

I am aware that Jimin is not the one who wrote the lyrics for the song.  RM did though.  RM, that at this point was very much aware of the relationship and JM’s great love for JK. RM that had written JK’s Begin, a song that everyone agrees is a very personal song of JK’s.  

The “I am you, you are me” line actually originated from a song released by Zico in early 2016.  There are theories that Jikook used a reference from that songs MV (the band aids on their fingers) during a Puma fan sign on April 2nd 2016.  So, if this is true and the line had special meaning for them to start with, and it found it’s way into the song lyrics... feel free to make your conclusions...

And although we have no way of knowing just how involved JM was in the process of writing this song (did he ask for a love song? Did he give ideas to insert into the song, like destiny, not being a coincidence, the cat?), but at the end of the day, JM ‘owns’ the song, believes in what he is singing.  When he talks about the song you can feel the emotional personal connection he has with the song.  This is his song,  and he sings it for JK.  And JK knows this is Jimin’s gift to him.

JK’s reaction when JM says Serendipity is his favourite song.  So cute. The thing with this one is that you could easily overlook it or not read too much into it. Only Suga’s reaction here is the tell all.  

At the point that JK is acting all shy and smiley to himself, Suga moves closer to him, whispering “Jungkookah”, something that brings on a change to JK’s entire facial expression.  There’s even a slight head nod from Suga when JK wipes the smile off his face.  

Suga hinting to JK not to be so obvious, only made it more obvious.  I also noticed that just before JM starts singing Serendipity, just after he was asked what his favourite song from the album is, JK looks sideways to Suga, as if he knows he isn’t supposed to react too obviously – looks a bit like little JK might have been scolded or reigned in prior to the live broadcast.    Remember that this is really quite a short time after the song’s release, so JK’s excitement, happiness, is still really fresh.  The song is for him, and it’s JM’s favourite...

I am not going to analyse the MV, but there are many who have done so before me.  Was JM involved in the planning and did he have any input to the choices made?  Idk.  There is a similarity to the motif of the DNA MV. Is it a coincidence that the dominant colour used is JK’s favourite colour? Who knows. But doesn’t the song say “all of this is not a coincidence”?

Add to that JM starting to use the paw print emoji by JK’s name on Twitter?  A coincidence? Mmm… interesting.

From this point on it is clear that “you are me, I am you” is a JM and JK thing. 

21 September 2017 BTS comeback show.  JK was in charge of putting together each of the members DNA.  Very enjoyable.  But why did JM have to mention again that JK comes to their room to sleep?  Also, how does JK know that JM doesn’t wake up Hobi when he is playing games late at night?  JM telling us how he now learnt how to play games – then what games was JM good last year (re: Vlive 22 April 2017)?

22 September 2017 Love Yourself fan sign– JM singing Serendipity, JK joining in.  How happy JM looks when JK sings “just let me love you” with him all while making eye contact with each other at that point. The way JM looks at JK while singing the song.  Singing to him.  

Still think Serendipity is not JK and JM’s song?

They have a way of looking at one another that sometimes make me feel like I’m intruding on a very intimate moment.

24 September 2017 SBS Inkigayo Super concert – found it!!!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb-_jkdxgh4 start watching at 3.36min.

This is the one I remembered, where JM, saw the need to grab JK’s butt, run his hand up and down his back side, right through the crack, repeatedly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7fv0CaQT9M start watching 11:30min , JM walks to his place past JK, lightly brushing his hand against JK.  

When I mention the brushes or light touches – this is what I mean (see attached photos).   Obviously, there will be those who say it wasn’t intentional, that he was walking by him and didn’t mean to touch him.  I say bollox to that (excuse the language).  

First, there was plenty of room not to walk so close to JK.  Second, if you notice, he circles JK only to make it back to the same actual side he was on to begin with.  All he had to do was back up, just like JK did, and not circle JK to make it to his place on stage.  Third, to me it looks as if he was aiming to touch JK’s hand, only it was too high up.

Another one I was looking for.  I have seen this moment and wasn’t sure where or when it was from.  This is one of those clips Jikook’s use to show Jimin being jealous, and to be honest, first time I saw it it made me wonder too.  But watching it again and again, I have come to the conclusion that that wasn’t the issue.  

To me this is more JM being protective than JM being Jealous.  Setting the boundaries for V when it comes to JK, and it is something we see with JM more than once.  

JM wasn’t happy.  V wasn’t happy.  Boundaries were set.

Tipsy JK must be a Jikooker. His guard is down, inhibitions are gone and he becomes really chatty and tends to say and do things that he most likely regrets later on.  We didn’t see the members drink what seemed to be alcohol, but the vibe I got from JK’s talkativeness and behaviour during the live was that he was tipsy.  Not outright drunk, but tipsy.

To the fan’s request to show his abs, JK starts checking himself out, looking under his T-shirt, only to be scolded by JM to keep it to himself.  This is also the first time we hear him Jikooking, talking about eating with Jin and JM, referring to them as Jin-jikook, and then turning to JM, while the others try to call them by another name (I wonder why…).  Did I not say tipsy JK is a Jikooker???

3 October 2017 Run BTS episode 22.  https://www.vlive.tv/video/43438 start 7.00min.

JM turns to JK asking him to vote for him.  The softness in JM’s voice when he asks him acting all coquettish.  The way JM approached JK and the way he spoke to him, that’s not the way someone talks to his mate, or to his ‘brother’.

There was a softness in the approach to JK.  coquettish is the only way I can describe it.

12 October 2017 BTS countdown. Can be found on Dailymotion. 

All JM had to say was one word – Jungkookah and JK, surprisingly (not) chose him.  The look of joy on their faces at that point.  And again the editors with the heart emoji effects.  Uhm… 

JM and JK’s team was the team chosen by the fans, and guess what song they both choose to sing, as JM piggy backed JK? Their song obviously… Serendipity.  

And yet again, JM gets to tell us JK comes to his room to sleep.  We hear you JM.  We hear you.

JM gets flowers sent from his father.  J-Hope and Suga pretend JM’s dad has arrived to surprise JM, Suga pointing and saying he saw him.  JK slowly backs up, shocked and alarmed smile on his face, trying to move behind RM.  Then the boys start laughing.  

Now, why do I think this is a moment worthy of my timeline?  Well, when the boys start laughing, revealing it was a joke, the one Suga points at, laughingly, is JK.  

The whole thing feels like a joke on JK, not JM.  JK is the one being teased.   Why would JK be so stressed out from JM’s dad being there?  And why would the boys be teasing him like that? Hm…

The funny thing is that the camera is on JK and Suga, not on JM, who was supposedly just told his father was there. That feels slightly strange to me. Wouldn’t they want to catch JM’s reaction? Not JK’s?

28-30 October 2017 JK and JM Tokyo trip together.  This trip was long anticipated by JM.  He had been looking forward for his trip with JK for a long time.  It was a private trip planned and paid for by JK as a gift for JM.  What we know about the trip is mostly what they tell us in retrospect.  

Saying that, this was truly a memorable trip for them both, and they both can’t seem to shut up about it, talking about it at any possible moment.  JK telling us how JM stayed up (only JM?) until 5 am, so they both woke up at 12pm and missed out on plans they had for the morning, JM tells how they went shopping in Harajuku, how during their trip was the longest walk they took, referring to their trip during interviews.  As I mentioned – a memorable trip.  

31 October 2017 - When returning from the trip JM posts a selca/selfie.  I know I said I won’t be doing this, but rules are sometimes meant to be broken, and this specific selca is gorgeous, so…

Both acting cute together. For some reason, they are the only ones that are paired for the one on one interviews, when Suga, Jin and Hobi were all interviewed by themselves. 

 Felt like JM and inhibitions were strangers during the group interview.  

Not really sure what JM was searching for in JK’s thigh during the group interview (when V was talking) – tupping, fingering and squeezing JK’s thigh.  And yet again RM and J-Hope’s reactions to die for.  Hobi eyes on the action throughout the whole episode, and RM when he notices, I would pay a lot of money to know what was going through his head at that point.  My educated guess is: “God, please get me out of here, why did I agree to be the leader????” LOL.

Then when asked what their impressions were when coming to the dome, JM tells how JK was crying, all while caressing JK’s ear.  JK tells how he was emotional, and they look at each other.  All the while, RM’s face when JM touches JK’s ear, only to continue to place his hands on their shoulders respectively.

JM continues to surprise, telling viewers to anticipate for JK’s sweat.  The minute he says that, RM turns to look towards Suga, the vibe I get is: “god, please help me here…”.  

Then JM goes on to tell us how in his opinion JK’s sweat is beautiful, Holy water.  What???? J-hope repeats JM’s Holy water, then glances for just a second towards RM and looks down nervously – great save Hobi.

The group interview was shot on JM’s birthday.  Maybe that had something to do with his good un-inhibited mood.

While the Tokyo trip was JK’s birthday gift or JM.  GCF Tokyo is JK’s love ode to JM.

This is not an analysis of GCFT, but I do have a few words to say on the matter. Explain why in my eyes this is a JK’s love ode to JM.  

This video was filmed and edited by JK, and JK alone.  It supposedly documents their trip together.  It was his choice and his alone to edit and publish this video and did so to JM’s surprise.  

In the video to start with, he lets us know that it’s the two of them, but from there on, other than seeing JK through the mirrors in the elevator while he is filming JM, the one we mostly see is JM.  JM smiling, JM goofing around, JM eating, JM enjoying himself on the Tea Cup ride at Disneyland, JM walking, JM dancing, and as a whole just JM having the time of his life. For a video that is documenting a trip to Tokyo, there is not too much of Tokyo we get to see.  

The end credits name JK as the photographer, director and editor, while naming JM as the actor.  

There is a strong romantic vibe to the video.  

JK’s editing choices, including his music choice for the video are well thought out.  His choice to edit to the beat of the song.  All cleverly thought out to accentuate both the footage and the lyrics of the song he chose:  ‘There for you’ by Troye Sivan and Martin Garrix.  

JM told us already: “this is not a coincidence”.  

The level of preparation from JK, acquiring the rights to use the song, the amount of time it took to go over the footage and edit the video, all while managing to do that will a full working schedule (working throughout the night). This was clearly something big for him.  His joy and pride when it was uploaded to Youtube, clearly showed, him smiley and dancing.

2 days prior to GCFT, on 6 November 2017, JM published his short clip of the trip.  JM too took the time to edit a cute footage of the trip, documenting both of them having fun. Putting them both side by side only emphasizes the difference and showcases just how much GCFT was all about JM, being JK’s love ode to JM.

After reading this, i started to wonder…what if BTS does really have only profit in mind while doing new projects these days? Maybe they don’t really care anymore about creative and meaningful lyrics and sound? With Butter and PTD…all this generic music sung in English. Of course they say “we wanted to make fans feel good”, “butter and ptd represent who we are” and all these things fans want to hear but.. do you really think it’s true? moreover, don’t get me wrong, i don’t find product placement in their reality shows as something terrible, i believe this is a normal thing, however, nowadays the members really film ads and do marketing a lot. so yeah, for some reason i began to question their integrity dhsjjss i hope you will understand from where my concerns come from and won’t find this ask stupid sjdjjdjd

After reading that persons answer I can immediately tell you that I basically don't agree with an overwhelming majority of what she said (even more so since a lot of it just makes her sound like a manti that hates the company and basically would want them to make music for free or something). Generally I don’t agree with most of the opinions this person holds, and also Quora really isn’t a good source for info or good opinions, most of it is written by mantis, haters, and toxic shippers with an agenda so most ARMY will tell you to stay as far away from that website as possible.

Anyway, her focus in that answer was on money, since BTS are shareholders (and how that’s a conflict of interest despite other artists doing the exact thing but no one really cares or ever thinks about it), but what she failed to consider and note was that Big Hit Music, so BTS' label, isn't part of HYBE in the sense that shareholding has no baring on it since BHM is private. So while BTS profit off of HYBE doing well, and have a small percentage of a voice as shareholders, that has nothing to do with BHM in the classical sense, even if BHM's earnings reflect well on HYBE numbers and the shareholder money. 

BHM was made private to ensure their artistry would remain untouched, that was the whole point of that.

Even if they weren't HYBE shareholders, take Namjoon as example. He has more than 170 KOMCA credits, is among the top 3 Korean artists with the most credits and is also the youngest of them all. It is said that his earnings from that alone can sustain his family for 3 generations over. Look at Hobi and Chicken Noodle Soup, that song was a hit and he paid the original creator of that song 2 million dollars upfront and earned a lot back due to how successful it was. Same goes for Hope World which, again, was and is still immensely successful. Look at Yoongi and his work both as prod. SUGA, featuring artist SUGA, and as Agust D, as well as the credits he holds for his work on BTS songs (giving him as well a total of over 100 KOMCA credits, just like Hobi). Bangtan have worked and continue to work extremely hard for their music, put their heart and souls into it, and it shows even if their style changed as they grew older and more mature.

Yes, money is a major motivator, but looking at the above paragraph, do you really peg the members as these corrupt money hungry sellouts with no music related integrity? Who would need to sign major deals and would throw away their passion to just release empty shells of music for the sole reason of money? Am I naive enough to believe that they don't care about money? Of course not, we live in a capitalist society and even if BTS wouldn't care about money anymore at this point, HYBE very much does, and yet still I can't find it in me to agree with any of what was said in that answer that person wrote.

And that point about how Hyundai cars were sold out because of BTS, isn't that the point why literally any company ever hires celebrities to advertise and endorse their product? And sure, again, I'm certain they earned a lot on these deals, they aren't the first or last or only ones in the history of ever to do so. Besides, look at JK and what he's done for small companies, or Tae who wore a brooch made my a small creator at the airport which catapulted that creator into the eyes of millions of ARMYs enough so that they could move to a proper studio and earn money with their work. Or the modern hanboks JK wore which led to the brand being able to move into actual stores in malls because of their sudden new popularity and demand. Or him wearing a bracelet that helps whales with a percentage of the money from the sales of said bracelet. And for all of that JK and Tae didn't earn any money at all. JK himself said that he's more conscious of the brand he wears now because he wants to help smaller businesses in these trying times, not because they pay him to do so (especially since they would never be able to afford that), but because he's aware of the influence he has and how he can use it to help others. Sound very much like a capitalistic villain, right?

As for the product placement bit, have you been on YouTube recently? Have you noticed that many, if not most, YouTube videos by “bigger” creators (and by that I mean even people who are around the 100k subscriber mark) begin with them thanking whoever sponsored that particular video and give you a scripted minute to two minute long ad before getting into the actual topic of the video? And In The SOOP featuring Chilsung Cider, FILA clothes and the random mention of how good Samsung phones are isn’t much different from it, though really, if you’re not someone interested in fashion much, would you really notice or care that they wore FILA? It’s just...clothes? If it weren’t a BTS related show, would you even notice it much? And it’s not even like they mentioned those brands every five minutes or anything, just a few times, which sure sounded a bit out of place at times, but personally I thought it was easy to look past. That’s just how things work nowadays and it’s odd for people to behave like somehow BTS are the first and only ones to use product placements despite literally every movie and show doing it in subtle and less so manners.

The answer by that person you sent also mentioned the Hyundai song for their car IONIQ and, unsurprisingly, that person wrote it off as just some commercial jingle but I’d actually disagree with that. Not to sound like a Hyundai and Samsung stan, which I am neither of, but I actually think those two knew best how to utilize the artist they have spent millions on signing a deal with. Hyundai didn’t just write them off as pretty faces with a millions strong fan army behind them and that’s it, they remembered that they are musicians so they gave them a song and made a whole music video for it as well. And say what you will, it is a good song. Then, just a few days ago, Samsung stepped up their game and we were given Over The Horizon Prod by SUGA of BTS. For those who aren’t Samsung users, Over The Horizon is their signature ringtone and basically their company sound, and over the years different artists were asked to make their own version of it. And this time they reached out to Yoongi and asked if he’d like to do it as well. It’s kind of a big deal. Sure, Butter is used in one of their commercials much the way Dynamite was last year, but that’s beside the point. Would that person make the same claim about Imagine Dragons whose song Believer is also part of the ads for the new Samsung phones? I have my doubts.

Furthermore, and I don't want this to come across as mean toward you but, I think it is uncalled for to question their artistic integrity based on a total of 3 (three) English songs when last year alone we received 50+ songs, most of which were in Korean, among them the entirety of BE which was, according to the members, the album they were most involved in ever when it comes to both music and everything around it.

You can dislike their English songs, that’s more than fine, they have a very extensive discography you can listen to instead, but questioning their integrity based on them doing something that most, if not every, artist on their level does (as in sign ad deals with brands etc) is a bit much if you ask me. Does that mean indie artists whose songs get picked up for commercials (or for Netflix shows or movies) and thus it catapults them into the mainstream are also just money hungry people with no integrity and ones who don’t care about their music? Or is that, again, just a standard Bangtan is held to (as in that their integrity is questioned based on everything, even the most trivial/normal things) that only applies to them and no one else?

In the recent Weverse Magazine article about how Permission to Dance came to be there is a lot of talk about not only that song but also Butter and Dynamite, among the things being discussed and talked about they mentioned how the original lyrics for Butter were much more materialistic but that the members didn't like that so they asked for that to be changed. Likewise the original lyrics for Permission to Dance, as you'd expect from the penmanship of Ed Sheeran, were much more romantic, almost proposal like, which wasn't what the members wanted either so it was, again, adjusted in a way that would fit what they, as well as the A&R team, wanted. While you may not like these songs, they still had a say in them to a certain degree, could say yes or no and ask for adjustments. Why else would PTD take eight months?

While they might outsource their English songs, their main focus, so their Korean (as well as Japanese) discography is still centered around them, their lyrics, their songs, their sound. Of course you’ll also find outside producers and some lyricists on those as well, because that’s how music works these days, as in collaboratively, that doesn’t change anything at large. Their integrity is still very much there, their hearts are still in it, what other reason would any of them have to say that they want to continue for a long time, for Yoongi to say they want to figure out how to make their career last as long as possible, for JK to say that he wants to sing forever?

Admin 2 also wanted me to add that in their opinion, to a certain degree (though not fully of course), their English songs are like a way to laugh at and expose how shallow the English-centric music industry is. As in, while they made music in Korean with deep and meaningful lyrics, the US industry didn’t care but once they switched to easy to listen to sound with easy to understand English lyrics, they suddenly paid attention, are played on the radio, and even received a Grammy nomination which they wouldn’t have gotten for a Korean song ( A1: regardless how much Black Swan or Spring Day really would’ve deserved it...).

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single woman in possession of a hot roommate, must want to jump his bones.

Like. C’mon. Kim Seokjin is nothing if not easy on the eyes. It’s not enough that he has the body proportions of a god—broad shoulders, lovely thighs, everything in its place and perfectly in line with his height and his poise—he has a beautiful face, too. Those lips. That jaw. Those eyes. You don’t want to wax lyrical but it really is like God decided to take his time making Kim Seokjin and everyone else (like you) was just left with the dregs; the stuff that wasn’t good enough for Jin and was thrown aside.

The worst thing, though. The worst thing. The absolute worst thing about Kim Seokjin is that he is A Nice Person. 

You’d barely known each other, only a month into your cohabitation when he’d come across you crying into a tub of ice cream in the kitchen, sobbing over the guy who’d finally grown bored of stringing you along with promises of eventually becoming your actual boyfriend and had just cut you off altogether after one final lay. You were utterly heartbroken and entirely mortified when you noticed Jin standing in the kitchen doorway as you clumsily tried to dig your spoon into the still-hard vanilla, but he’d just slid down onto the floor next to you with a spoon in one hand as the other came to rest on your shoulder. He’d listened to you snivel and sniffle, quietly eating the weirdly chemical-flavoured chocolate ice cream in the own-brand Neapolitan tub you favoured—your least favourite and the one you always left till last.

Once a guy’s seen you crying your eyes out on the kitchen floor in old pyjamas, and you’ve seen him eat five pots of super hot instant noodles on the trot and chase the whole thing down with an entire box of doughnuts, you sort of get to know each other as people—both things are revealing in different ways—and it’s hard for that to not lead to friendship.

You could have dealt with Jin if he was just hot. But he’s hot and nice and funny, utterly ridiculous; he doesn’t take himself seriously while also knowing how to rein himself in when necessary to not overwhelm people and basically you’ve been crushing on him in a major, major way for a while now.

And like. Seokjin is single, so technically you have a chance. But you also have absolutely no chance at all, because? Hello? Kim Seokjin? You? You? Kim Seokjin? He’s so far out of your league he may as well be in another galaxy. And he’s also probably the best roommate you’ve ever had (cleans up after himself, doesn’t microwave fish and stink up the place, likes the same TV shows as you so there are no arguments over the remote), so you’re not about to throw a wrench into the mix by doing something stupid like confessing that you like him.

“Right, I should be back around ten,” says Seokjin. He’s all dressed up for a noraebang night with his friends—well, not dressed up really, they’re just gonna get drunk while wailing songs at the top of their lungs in a small room so it’s not like he has to go all out, but Seokjin makes everything look good. “Are you sure you don’t want to come?”

Seokjin is nice and hot and funny and friendly. Honestly, he’s just a dreamboat of a roommate and a man, with great friends too. Normally you would have leaped at the chance to spend a night out with Seokjin and the other guys, but you’d spilled your drink on Yoongi last time and were still convinced that he was plotting your imminent demise. Even if Seokjin insists otherwise, you want to give Yoongi a wide berth for a little while longer in the hopes he’ll suddenly suffer a bout of amnesia and forget that you spilled a very boozy and sticky Oreo and Baileys cocktail(/glorified milkshake) on him and ruined his shoes.

“I’m good,” you say. “But make sure you don’t have any fun without me and you have to let everyone know that it’s because I’m not there.”

Jin laughs, a wet squeegee of a sound, and it goes straight to your heart. “I’ll pass on the message,” he promises, blowing you a tiny kiss as he goes. 

(Ugh, he’s so cute. You hate him.) (No, you don’t.)

You seem to be setting a trend for yourself in the drink-spilling department, though. During an ad break you decide to get yourself a drink, and even though it’s just a Boys Over Flowers rerun that you’ve seen multiple times, you rush as you pour yourself a glass of orange juice—you don’t want to take too long and miss anything. Suffice to say you Fuck Up and end up with a shirt and trousers covered in juice and pulp and you miss a bunch of the episode as you clean it up, huffing dramatically to yourself the whole time, before scarpering towards your bedroom for some new clothes. 

At least, that’s the plan. You pass by Seokjin’s open door and pause, taking in the sight of a few discarded bits of clothing on his bed and across the back of his chair, things he’d clearly decided weren’t worth wearing out tonight. The one that’s caught your eye is the vibrant pink shirt strewn over his duvet, one of your favourites, one you haven’t seen him wear in a while. It’s one of your favourites because he just looks so cosy in it—Jin ends up with a lot of oversized clothes so they can fit over his shoulders, but he practically swims in material when he wears this shirt, flapping the sleeves at you and then laughing at his own antics. He could wear it as a dress if he wanted to, probably.

… so could you, if you wanted to, probably.

… but you shouldn’t. Like, that’s weird. Jin is your roommate and even if he’s made it clear that he has an open door policy, going in through said open door to get a bit of his clothing is weird. Definitely creepy.

But… you’ve already kicked off your dirtied outfit and you’re just in your underwear so you can’t be blamed for being worried if you’re going to get cold, right? You’re just grabbing the closest bit of clothing, aren’t you?

… You’ll take it off before he gets back and put it in the laundry with everything else; he won’t notice. You’ll just take this awful awful secret to the grave and never tell anyone about your invasive actions.

Oh, man, the shirt smells so good. You share the same laundry detergent but Jin had clearly tried this on before discarding it, the scent of his cologne lingering in the air as you end up swamped in the shirt (/shirt dress), and you don’t regret this. Well, you do, but also you don’t. It’s like being wrapped up in Jin’s arms. Jin’s not shy about giving you hugs but there’s something altogether different about wearing someone’s clothes.

You end up curled up on the sofa as you watch more Boys Over Flowers, knees to your chest and revelling in how cosy and small Jin’s massive shirt makes you feel. You have to hitch the material up so that your hands peep out the ends of the sleeves. Sweater paws are cute on everyone, even yourself, and you giggle as you fumble for the remote so that you can check how many more episodes there are before it turns to something else. You can indulge yourself for a bit. As a treat.

“Unbelievable, I can’t believe Minji did that,” you mutter, so caught up in the drama of it all (as if you haven’t seen this episode four times) that you don’t hear the key turning in the lock, nor do you hear the footsteps that are heading towards you—what you do hear, however, is the sudden sound of Seokjin’s voice, freezing like a rabbit caught in headlights when you do.

“I forgot my wallet,” he says. “I—”

And that’s how he catches you, wide-eyed as you stare back at him, wishing that you could bury yourself between the sofa pillows so that he can’t see you. His keys are still in his hand and his mouth is open around an unfinished word as he takes the sight of you in, scrunched up against the armrest in some ridiculous attempt to shrink yourself small enough that he would have missed you.

He stares. You stare. You both stare. And then—

“Is that my shirt you’re wearing?”

“No!” A high-pitched shrill of an obvious lie. “No, uh, nope. Nuh-uh. Haha, oh, Jin, always such a jokester, you.”

You want the sofa to suddenly develop sentience and swallow you whole, just so you can be out of this situation. So you wouldn’t have to watch as a smile starts to spread over Jin’s face, the way there’s a little glint in his eyes, the way he opens his mouth and says—

“You know, you didn’t have to turn down noraebang just so you could wear my clothes. You just had to ask, I would have said yes.” He doesn’t seem creeped out, just amused, which is—well, it’s better, but, what? He’s laughing at you? You don’t know if that’s worse, somehow, actually.

“I didn’t! I spilled orange juice on my shirt and then I saw this shirt and you weren’t home—”

“Aha, so you admit it, it’s not your shirt,” Jin proclaims. He looks smug.

“Oh my God, I am full of regret,” you groan. “My life is a disaster. Can we pretend this never happened? I will pay you literal money. Please.”

At this, Jin’s eyes turn soft. “Do you really want that?”

“I—wuh? Do I really want us both to pretend you didn’t walk in on me wearing your shirt like some weird stalker or something? Absolutely. Yes. Let’s do that.”

“I wasn’t joking about letting you wear my clothes,” he says. There’s a note to his voice, something a little doughy, yielding and warm for you, and—you know what your gut is screaming at you, but— “I always thought you’d look cute in them, and I was right.”

You splutter. Jin thought you’d look cute—he’s been thinking about you wearing his clothes—the sort of thing that, you know, couples do. But this is Kim Seokjin you’re talking about. There’s no way he’s attracted to you in the way you’re attracted to him.

… but he is looking at you in a way that’s soft and tender, the same look you give him when you think he isn’t looking.

“Jin,” you say, slow. “Are you…”

“The most handsome man alive? Yes, I am.”

You make a face at his interruption and he laughs at your expression before going quiet, eyes so big and lovely and warm as he smiles at you, and you continue to speak. “Are you saying you want to, y’know. See me wearing more of your clothes? Or, uh... Less clothes in general?”

You can feel the blood rising in your cheeks as you say this, and you can see the red that starts to tinge the top of Jin’s ears, exquisite and wonderful. “I’m saying that I’m happy to give you what’s mine, including my clothes,” he says. “And my time. And love.”

You end up pulling the excess material of the shirt over your head as you turn into some sort of bright pink turtle, overwhelmed and in disbelief but so happy.

Judging from Jin’s laughter and the warmth of his hands reaching for yours in their too-long sleeves, he is, too.

I relate to that anon who misses your Jimin posts. I always wondered why you wrote more about non-rapline members than the rapline who you biased. Esp JM, JK, V, and sometimes Jin. But now that Jimin is your bias I notice you posting more about Taekook than Jimin so now we’re Jimin deprived 😭

It sucks cos I like how you write about him. I’ve been going back to your posts about Face and even your posts from before his releases Face. You were one of the first bloggers who said Jimin’s music was the one you were most looking forward to. When other people doubted him you shut that shit down with “he’s Park Jimin for goodness sake”. The first time I heard Dis-ease, before I even knew Hobi wrote most of it, I just knew it was a Hoseok song from the disk-scratches and very retro old-school hiphop vibe. And so I expected it to flow a certain way, and it did. Until it got to the bridge. Dis-ease could have been a very different song and you really see this if you listen to the version with JK’s bridge which keeps a somewhat faster tempo and lower notes.

Jimin’s bridge, quite literally, elevates the whole song - it starts in a completely different octave. If you’re actually singing this song, like singing out loud, when you get to the bridge you’re forced to belt out “SICK AND TIRREEEDDDD” and “THROUGH THE FIREEEEE”, up high, real loud, with heart and feeling. The melody Jimin composed in 5 minutes is simultaneously soulful and energetic.

This is the same with other melodies he has composed such as Friends and Blood, Sweat and Tears, and others.

Jimin writes some pretty dope melodies that make me want to sing out loud.

He seems to write plain but beautiful and honest lyrics

Jimin has said writing lyrics doesn’t come easy for him and I think this is because he writes the way he speaks.

Even Namjoon who we all know writes incredibly beautiful lyrics has said this too, but I think Jimin might want or aim to write more artistically like Namjoon, but (I think) he writes lyrics the way he speaks, which is plainly and directly but carefully and very honestly. He sparingly uses metaphors unlike Tae and RM who can wonder about snow and flowers individually or uses colors like Blue and Grey to convey struggling with burn out or how the world pauses at 0 O’clock.

When people write songs the hope is to convey certain ideas or emotions. If those things are very personal, heavy or dark, songwriters often use metaphors or analogies in their lyrics to communicate them. This way, the songwriter’s personal feelings are somewhat obscured and protected by artistic interpretations. If you write literally however, there’s nowhere to hide. Everyone knows exactly what you’re thinking and I think this is why Jimin struggles with lyrics.

Jimin writes very literally and this personally appeals to me a lot. Take for instance, how Jimin wrote Lie:

내 웃음을 돌려놔줘 Please bring back my smile

Caught in a lie

There’s nothing metaphorical about this. He’s literally going through hell and he tells you that very plainly as much. The only way to maintain some ambiguity in the whole song is to never mention what the Lie actually is. And so he never does.

Jimin seems to write more songs than we think. For example, when talking about how Friends came to be, he mentioned he was working on 3 songs which he casually showed to Bang PD just for kicks while they were touring three years ago. Two of those songs were mostly finished and the most incomplete song was the third one which PD liked most and worked with Jimin to complete, and that song became Friends - track 15 on the Map of The Soul 7 album.

For their BE album Jimin mentioned how he wrote three new songs for the title track but they weren’t selected. So, Jimin has likely just got these songs sitting somewhere, much like how Yoongi was sitting on Telepathy for years before releasing it with BE.

Whether we’ll ever hear these songs is another story, but if he ever does release them I’m sure I’ll be singing my heart out alongside him.

The release party was something new Big Hit was trying. Something about truly celebrating their artists' every release. Which I didn't mind because it gave me an excuse to take a break from the computer screens and the incessant rhythms and melodies running through my mind. But it mean that I couldn't be in my usual sweatpants and hoodie. No, I had to be dressed up in a nice little outfit with my hair and make up done cause there was of course cameras.

"Would you stop fussing with that?" Aimee swatted my hand away from the bottom of my skirt. "You look divine."

"I feel like an exposed wire." I mumbled, cupping my drink with both hands to keep them away from my dress.

"A hot exposed wire." She laughed and I gave her a weak smile. Aimee sighs and puts an arm around my shoulders, "Look, you look really good and you did a really good job on the album so will you knock that drink back and say a really big fuck it?" She looked at me and I knew she was right.

I raised my cup and tapped it against hers, "To a really big fuck it." I toasted before we both take a big gulp. The sudden assault of alcohol against my throat sent a shiver down my spine but as the shiver passed through, my body began to loosen up slightly.

Before long, I was on my third drink of the night, had a warm buzz running through my body, and no longer cared about how my dress looked on me.

"I mean you would think that they would at least come over and say hello." Aimee stated while looking around the room, "You worked on literally every song on this album and they haven't even stopped by to say thank you or shit." She crossed her arms over her chest in disbelief.

"I texted them earlier today." I told her, trying to calm her but she's had a couple more drinks than I have.

Aimee puckered her lips, "Tsk. They should still show their faces to you."

I chuckled and looked down at my half empty cup. Raising it up to my lips, the 7 boys I had worked with for months saunter up to the table.

"Speak of the devil." I whispered to Aimee who whipped around. I thought she was going to glare at them and scold them for not coming sooner but instead she was all giggles and smiles.

"There you guys are!" She exclaimed and gave Hobi a small hug, "I was wondering when you guys were going to show up." They gathered around the table and Jungkook ends up standing next to me. Which right then, wasn't an issue, but if I was sober, you bet my heart rate would've sped up so fast.

"Well, you guys gotta stop being so hard to find." Jin joked, gesturing at us for emphasis.

I raised my cup, "My fault." I admitted, "Used to the dark corners and basements."

"You know," Jimin said, "I was half expecting you to show up in your sweats."

"I wanted to." I told him, "But apparently the boss man wanted me to feel like an exposed wire."

"Hot exposed wire." Aimee pushes my shoulder and I stumbled into Jungkook.

His reflexes acted quickly and he caught me by the shoulders before gravity could take over.

"You good?" Jungkook asked, trying to keep his laughter at bay.

The boys have seen me drink before but I don't they've ever seen me tipsy or drunk before.

I corrected myself and nodded a little too enthusiastically. "I'm good."

Jungkook nodded, "Well, you look good for an exposed wire." He said with a smile.

I smiled back and let the smile close my eyes, "Thank you." I said before taking another sip from my cup.

"You boys did great on the new album." Aimee complimented them and the boys smiled proudly.

"You guys did amazing work too." Namjoon returned the compliment.

I shook my head, "All I did was get these persistent rhythms and melodies out of my head. You guys brought them to life."

"We wouldn't have had anything to bring to life if it weren't for you." Taehyung pointed out.

"Where did you even come up with 'Back to Me'?" Jungkook asked, looking towards me while leaning on the table.

I thought back to my inspiration for their title track and nearly bursted into laughter. "You won't believe me."

"Try us." Jimin encouraged me on and Jungkook's eyes said the same thing.

"I was waiting to cross a busy intersection and I dropped my ice cream cone. Then it just formed in my mind." I said with laughter.

The others laughed along but Jungkook didn't laugh as hard as the others. When I looked over at him, I swore I saw him looking at me in adoration. I told myself it was the alcohol in my system.

"So, if you dropped your breakfast, you think you'd make a song that could get us into the Hall of Fame?" Jin wondered, forcing me to pull my attention away from Jungkook.

"I don't think it works that way." I shrugged and smiled sheepishly. Then I felt a slight movement next to me and immediately turned and pointed a finger at Jungkook, "And do not even think about trying, mister."

Jungkook smiled widely, having been caught. "You never know." Is all he said.

"Hey, hey, hyung, isn't that..." Hobi smacked Yoongi's arm and pointed across the room at someone.

"Holy shit." Yoongi exhaled in awe, "No way."

"Let's go!" Hobi pushed Yoongi away from the table and towards the new person.

"Hey, (y/n), will you be in the studio tomorrow?" Namjoon asked.

I glanced down at my now 2/3's empty cup, "I can be."

"I mean, if you are, I wanted to run some things by you." He shrugged like it wasn't the biggest deal.

"I'll let you know." I told him, my uncertainness evident in my voice.

"Jin, I think your parents are leaving." Taehyung said and points towards the exit where Jin's parents were indeed standing, looking around, presumably for him.

Jin left the table with Namjoon, Jimin, and Taehyung following him. Leaving me at the table alone with Jungkook as Aimee had disappeared sometime earlier.

"You know," I rest my head on my hand as my elbow leans against the table top, "You should get out of your baggy clothes more often." I said, fully taking in Jungkook's attire.

Jungkook barked out a laugh, "I could say the same to you."

"Ooh, don't." I puckered my lips in distaste.

"Alright, I won't." He said and drummed his fingers against the table.

"Are you going to show up tomorrow too?" I suddenly questioned him.

"I, uh, I might?" He said, flustered and quite unsure of his own answer.

I peeked at my phone for the time and then sighed, reading the 1:44am timestamp. "Well, if you all are going to show up then I should probably be going to bed."

"I'll walk you home." Jungkook suggested immediately.

I lightly shook my head, "You don't have too. It's just down the block."

Jungkook shook his head harder, "I want to. Think of it like sort of repaying back for some of the nights I would stay late in your studio to watch you work." He explained and my brain repeated its mantra for the night.

"Fuck it." I shrugged, "Okay. Walk me home, Jungkook." I grabbed my purse and started walking to the doors. Jungkook followed soon after.

As we walked outside, the chill of the night didn't even faze me. In fact, I welcomed it as it sat against my hot skin.

"Which way?" Jungkook asked, looking left and right as if he was trying to guess which direction my house was in.

I pointed across the street, "Straight and then we go left at some point."

"At some point?" Jungkook repeated, "You do know your way home, right?"

"Yes. I'm tipsy. Not drunk. I know where I live." I rolled my eyes and looped my arm in his without thinking. I registered that he stiffened ever so slightly but the thought was lost somewhere between registering and comprehending the information.

"Have you developed that one track anymore?" I asked him as we made our way across the street.

"Uh, kind of. I'm stuck again." He admitted.

"Bring it in tomorrow." I told him, "Namjoon's coming in and I won't have anything pertinent to be working on. We can hammer it out together."

"I'll do that." Jungkook smiled softly.

I looked up at the clear sky and exhale, "I enjoy working with you." I said, letting my heart do the talking while it shoved my brain behind the heavy (but still see through) alcohol curtain, "Like I really enjoy it. It's kind of a favorite. Don't tell the other members, but you're my favorite to work with."

"Oh yeah?" Jungkook said, a cocky smile growing on his face. "And why's that?"

"It could be that your music style is similar to mine." I explained, "Or it could be that it's just easy to work through things with you. Or it could be that I like you. Yeah, it's probably cause I like you. I mean, that's really the main reason. I just like spending time with you. Is that weird?" I asked him with innocence because my brain hadn't fully registered what just came out of my mouth.

Jungkook is stunned for a split second before he shook his head, "No, not weird at all. I like spending time with you, too. I like you, too."

I gave him a single nod, "Good. Cause otherwise I would've questioned how you were able to fool me into thinking that you liked working with me." I then spotted the street lamp we were supposed to turn at, "Left." I said and used my body to lead Jungkook in the right direction.

"Do you ever think about writing lyrics?" Jungkook wondered, returning to a normal walking pace.

"Sometimes." I told him honestly, "But I never release them. Not even as demos."

"So you've written some?" He assumed.

"Yes." I answered, "But they are locked away where no one will ever find them."

"On your computer under a password?" Jungkook guessed.

"Maybe." I pouted, slightly upset that he guessed its location so quickly.

"And the password is probably something like 'Tata and Kookie.'" He continued to guess and I stopped in my tracks, stopping him as well.

"How the HELL did you know?" I exclaimed, disbelief written all over my face.

Jungkook chuckled, "You have Tata and Kookie everywhere in your studio. It's kind of obvious."

"Fuck." I whisper-shouted, disappointed at myself for giving away the answer that easily.

"It's okay. I won't look." He said once we started walking again, "It's just cool to know that you have them there. I bet they're good."

"Not as good as what you guys can write." I told him with a shrug.

"Nah, I bet they're fantastic." Jungkook countered. "Maybe one day you'll show 'em to me?"

"Maybe." I nodded but I didn't know if I would fulfill it.

"Are you going to remember this tomorrow?" Jungkook asked as I spotted my building approaching.

"Probably. Though maybe not right away." I admitted, wondering why he wanted to know.

Jungkook nodded in thought.

"Why?" I asked, unable to keep the question inside.

"Just curious." He simply stated.

"Uh huh." I commented unconvinced and then stopped in front of my building, "Well, this is me."

"You live pretty close to the company buildling." Jungkook observed, rocking back in his heels.

"Makes the commute 100 times easier." I told him and leaned in closer, "I tend to sleep in late." I giggled at my sudden confession.

Chuckling, Jungkook smiled, "So that's why you show up to work in sweats so often."

"Oh no." I shook my head and then I corrected him, "That's a choice."

"Will it be the choice tomorrow?" Jungkook asked as I stepped towards the front doors.

I smiled teasingly, "You'll just have to find out." I teased him and spotted a grin on his face before I turned and entered my building.

I could feel my mind start to analyze the events of the night, but the remaining alcohol buzz chose to ignore it for the night.

~Morning~

I took a swig from my water bottle sitting on my night stand and picked up my phone to check the time. A ripe 7:35 am. I scrolled through my text notifications and from most recent to oldest, they read:

From Namjoon: Hey, what time do you think you'll be in? I've got some free time between 10 and 12. Let me know!

From Aimee: BTS ALBUM #1 WORLDWIDE AGAIN! AND 'BACK TO YOU' MV'S GOT 100 MILL!

From Jungkook: Tomorrow, could we also try to get this melody out of my head?

From Jungkook: To discuss lyrics and such...

From Jungkook: Are you free to eat a meal with me sometime?

From Jungkook: Can you also help me with a lyric?

From Taehyung: Hello? (Y/n)??? You cOnFeSsEd?!

From Jungkook: I'm still stuck on the track.

From Jungkook: I'm gonna try to work on the track tonight.

From Taehyung: YOU CONFESSED?! WHAT HAPPENED TO WAITING A FEW WEEKS?!

From Jungkook: I hope you got in okay. Sleep tight.

I blinked at my phone, reading the texts over, specifically the ones from Taehyung.

I... confessed... .... ?

I mean, that's really the main reason. I just like spending time with you. Is that weird?" My voice echoed in my head and my brain melted into mush.

"Oh... fuck." I whispered then I remembered Jungkook's response.

And just like that, my brain was fully functional and my heart was bouncing around my chest like a ping pong ball on steroids. I pulled myself out of bed and responded to the texts.

To Namjoon: Yes, I'll be in at like 9 so stop by whenever.

To Aimee: Hell yeah!

To Taehyung: Yes... yes I did. Did he tell you?

To Taehyung: And apparently I said screw waiting.

To Jungkook: Don't worry about the track, we'll finish it today.

To Jungkook: I can help you with the lyric and the melody.

To Jungkook: I'll eat a meal with you... but only if you pay and as long as we don't talk about work ;)

I shuffled into the bathroom and started brushing my teeth when my phone buzzes with a text.

From Jungkook: Deal, no work talk. Friday?

To Jungkook: Friday.

To Jungkook: What time are you wanting to come in today?

From Jungkook: 9? 10? Idk

To Jungkook: I'll be in around 9. My door'll be open.

I smiled at my phone with my toothbrush sticking out of my mouth. Then I decided that maybe I should say 'fuck it' more often.

BTS Reaction| Your family members fight a lot and you’re stuck at home

Namjoon 

You went upstairs to your room as soon as you heard the raised voices and closed yourself in there. You were tired of having to listen to their arguing. So you put your headphones in and immediately called your best friend. He answered on the first ring as always. 

“Hello? Y/n? Is everything okay?”

“I mean no but, how did you know?”

“It’s nearly midnight. You usually never call me this late unless something is wrong.”  You glance at the clock and your eyes widen when you realize he’s right.

“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry! Were you sleeping? Did I wake you?”

“Nope. I was just working on a new song.”

“Oh really? Can you tell me about it?” 

“You need a distraction?”

“Yes please.”

“Alright. Well it was probably one of the fastest times I have written a song. It got it done in just a few hours. I was feeling very... inspired.”

“Oh really? What inspired you?”

“Hmm a walk in the woods. I saw a leaf fall from a tree and the lyrics just started flowing from there.”

“Your brain amazes me, Namjoon.” He chuckles at that.

“Thank you. Do you want to hear it?”

“I’d love to!” He plays you the song and it immediately gives you a sense of comfort. You let yourself be lulled into a peaceful state by the gentle melody playing through your headphones. When the song is over you let out a happy sigh. “That was amazing.”

“Really? Do you think Army will like it?”

“They’ll love it. I know they will. It will make them feel just as comforted and happy as it did for me.” 

“Perfect. That’s what I was going for. Thanks for listening to me ramble on.”

“Oh no it’s exactly what I needed. Thank you, Namjoon.”

Jin

You had a pillow over your head trying to drown out the raised voices, but it didn’t seem to be working. It was really starting to wear on your nerves so you did the one thing you knew would cheer you up, face time Jin. You hoped he was back at the hotel now and you weren’t bothering him. He answered almost immediately. You can’t see his face as his phone seems to be laying on the counter, the camera facing the ceiling. 

“There’s my adorable sweetheart of a best friend- Hey why do you have a pillow over your head?” A loud slam of a door across the hall makes you flinch. 

“Does that answer your question?”

“Your family is fighting again?”  You sigh. 

“Of course. Just a daily occurrence in the life of quarantine.  What are you doing?” The camera moves and you immediately giggle at the sight. He has on a face mask but there are black rings around the eyes and nose that make him look like a panda. You burst into laughter when you see his indignant expression. 

“Hey what’s so damn funny? There are no jokes about this beautiful, handsome face.” 

“What on earth- are you wearing?” 

“Hey! We’re on tour in a foreign country our face masks and beauty products are limited.” You try to stifle your laughter by bringing the pillow over your mouth instead. 

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t laugh, I just wasn’t expecting that.” 

“It’s okay. I do look quite silly. But yet I still somehow manage to pull it off huh?”

“Sure, if that’s what you want to believe.”

“Don’t make me come over there.” 

“Oh bring it on grandpa-nda.” Jin tries to hold back his laughter because he’s trying to be mad at you but soon his loud and boisterous laughter rings out into your room. 

“I can’t possibly be mad at a fellow appreciator of dad jokes and puns. Are you feeling better now?”

“Much. Thank you.”

Yoongi 

The moment your family started arguing you went into a different room and closed the door. You pulled out your phone to text him but as usual, he seemed to have some weird sixth sense with you and had sent you a message as you were typing yours. 

Hey, just wanted to check in and see how you were doing. 

Um, not great but I’ll manage. 

You see the three dots appear as he is typing back a message but soon they disappear and your phone is ringing. 

“Yoongi?”

“Hey. Sorry I was going to just text but I figured a phone call would mean a little more. Is everything okay?”

“I mean it’s just my family again.” That’s all you have to say and he immediately knows. 

“I saw a really cute dog today.”

“You what now?”

“It was really cute. A little fluff ball. The cutest dog I think I have ever seen. I took a photo, you want to see?” Your phone chimes with a text message and you open it and look at the photo. He’s laying down on his side and has Holly in his arms. His eyes are crinkling at the corners and you can tell he’s smiling even though his mouth is covered.

“That’s Holly.”

“Yes. And he is the cutest dog in the universe. No other dog compares to my precious Holly.” You find yourself smiling hearing how fond Yoongi is of his dog. 

“Indeed he is. But his owner is even cuter.” You hear an odd choked off noise and even though you can’t see him you know he’s blushing. 

“Ah don’t say things like that. It’s not good for my heart.” 

“Sorry. I couldn’t resist. You look really happy in that photo though.” 

“Because I am. Being home with my family and getting to see Holly makes me happy. Um.. you know if your family is fighting a lot you are always more than welcome to come and stay with me.” 

“Really?”

“Of course. My family adores you. If it gets to be too much, you always have a home with me.” You feel tears well up in your eyes and quickly wipe them away.

“That means a lot to me. Thank you, Yoongi.” 

Hoseok

If there was one thing that could cheer you up when your family was fighting it was your own personal sunshine, Hoseok. You texted him and asked him for a distraction and suddenly your phone was bombarded with adorable selfies of him pouting at the camera, smiling, holding up a finger heart, doing multiple different adorable poses.

Feeling better now?

Of course. How could I not when I get to see your smiling adorable face?

Nonsense. We’re taking a break anyway. And even if we weren’t you know I’d drop everything just to cheer you up. I promised you whenever you needed me I’d be there remember? No matter what. 

You smile to yourself as you remember the day Hoseok came back to your house and was absolutely over the moon that he was going to debut. But one thing he made sure to promise you was that nothing would change between the two of you and that he would always make time for you. And he has made good on that promise without fail. 

Yes I know. And I appreciate you so much for that. No matter what time of day it is you always help me feel better. 

Good! Are you feeling okay now? Are your family still arguing?

Hmm I don’t think so. I don’t hear anything. And yes I am, much better. Thank you Hobi.

Jimin, are you busy?

Hmm just practicing a new choreo! But I always have time for you, what’s up? 

You press the phone icon next to his name.

“Okay now you got me worried with how quickly you called me.”

“Just.. can you distract me please? Or just keep my mind off things? I just want to forget everything that is going on right now for a little bit.”

“That is a very open ended question y/n with many possibilities.” You can hear his smirk through the phone. 

“Not like that you pervert!”

“I wasn’t being serious oh my goodness. I just wanted to make you laugh. Sorry.” You giggle into the phone and hear him sigh into the other end as if he’s relieved he didn’t actually upset you. 

“I’m just messing with you, Jimin. But seriously. My family is fighting again and I just don’t want to deal with it right now.” 

“Ah I have the perfect idea to distract you then! Switch to video call.” You did and were blessed with the sight of a barefaced, casually clothed Park Jimin. 

“So what is your idea?”

“You can watch me dance! I know how much you like to. And you can tell me what you think of the new choreography for my solo. Is that okay?”

“That sounds perfect. Watching you dance is like an out of body experience I swear. Feels like my soul left my body and ascended into the heavens and I am watching an angel grace me with his presence.” 

“Ah y/n! You flatter me too much.”

“It’s true though!” He waves you off with his hand but you definitely don’t miss the way his adorable puffy cheeks have turned bright red. He walks over to the speakers and presses play to resume the music. It truly is like watching an angel. He moves like he has wings, feet barely touching the floor and movements so graceful even the most experienced prima ballerina would be jealous. You watch on in awe as he seemingly floats across the practice room. You don’t even realize you’re tearing up until he stops dancing and runs towards the phone with a look of alarm on his face.

“Did something happen? Or was I just that bad?”

“Shut up, Jimin you were perfect. Seriously. That’s why I am crying because that was the most beautiful thing I have seen in my life.” You wipe your eyes with the back of your sleeve and when you look back at the screen, Jimin is smiling. 

“Thanks, y/n. I’m glad you liked it.”

“Loved. I loved it.” He blushes again but doesn’t try to hide it this time, allowing you to see his eyes disappear as he smiles at you. “Dance for me again?” 

“Anytime you want y/n. All you have to do is ask.” 

Taehyung

Taehyung had called you, like he did every night to check in and see how your day was. Unfortunately he called right when your family was in the middle of a world war III level screaming match. You answered and he immediately heard the yelling in the background.

“Oh, sweetheart I am so sorry.” You sniffle and try to collect yourself so he won’t worry.

“It’s fine. I’m used to it by now.” Your voice cracks and reveals to him just how upset you are. 

“Stay right there. I’m coming over.” 

“What? No, Tae it’s late don’t- Hello? Taehyung?” You pull the phone away from your face and see that he has already hung up. You sigh and set it down on your bed, pulling the pillow against your ears and trying to drown out the sound. Without realizing it you end up drifting off to sleep, only to be woken up by a heavy body flopping next to you on the bed. You throw the pillow off of you and sit up feeling startled. Looking to your left you see piles of snacks and drinks from the convenience store, and a very sheepish looking Taehyung. 

“I didn’t know which snacks you’d want so I bought one of everything.” You stare at him for a moment before a megawatt smile is displayed on your face. You jump over all the bags of snacks and tackle him in a hug. 

“You’re the best. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me.” 

“Of course! Anything to make you smile and cheer you up.” He opens a bag of chips and takes one out and holds it to your lips. “Open!” You do and he pops the chip into your mouth, it’s your favorite which just makes you even more happy that he remembers these little details about you. You are both in your own little world, eating snacks and happily chatting before you hear more shouting from downstairs and the frown is immediately back on your face. Taehyung pulls headphones out of one of the bags and places it over your head. They’re noise cancelling so you can’t hear anything except Winter Bear playing through them. You feel yourself immediately relax, and sway to the beat. You close your eyes and focus on his voice as he gently tugs you to your feet, and slow dances with you around the room. You have completely forgotten about why you were upset in the first place, the only thing you are focusing on is him. His voice, his hands around your waist, and the soft feeling of his lips against your forehead. 

Jungkook

Jungkook was a sweetheart, to put it lightly. He was an angel. And today was certainly no exception. You two had been texting back and forth and when your family started arguing you stopped answering him back, opting to put your headphones in and listen to music to block everything out. He got worried when you just suddenly stopped responding so he called you. 

“Y/n? Sorry were you sleeping or something? I just was a little worried when you stopped answering.” 

“Ah, sorry just..”

“Your family again?”

“Yeah...”

“What were you doing?”

“Listening to music.” 

“Hmm.. were you listening to your favorite group by any chance?” You know what he’s hinting at but you couldn’t help but tease him a little bit.

“Indeed I was. Got7′s song always cheer me up and put me in a good mood.”

“O-oh. Okay. Yeah I see why you like them. They do make good music. And they’re handsome and funny. Yugyeom is one of my best friends so if you want to meet him someday I can introduce you-”

“Jungkook.”

“Yes?

“I’m just messing with you. I love Got7 but when I am upset it’s your voice I want to hear.” He gets quiet for a moment and you can picture how flustered he is, you almost laugh but hold it in. 

“You know if you want to hear the real thing all you have to do is ask. If my voice helps you feel better I will sing a thousand songs if that’s what it takes.”

“Really?”

“Yes, of course.”

“Okay then. Sing for me.” He clears his throat.

“Annyeonghaseyo jeoneun Bangtan Sonyeondan-”

“Jungkook!” You immediately burst out laughing and hear his giggles soon joining yours. 

“Sorry. Just wanted to make you laugh for a second. But for real now, okay?”

“Okay.” You settle back into your pillows and bring the blanket up to your chin, getting cozy and waiting for the surely ethereal vocals to fill your ears.

“Neoneun nae salme dashi tteun haetbit.” His voice sounds beautiful. It’s unlike anything you’ve heard before. It’s like comfy fuzzy blankets, a warm fire after being outside in the snow, a hand to hold when you’re feeling down. It’s comforting. It’s warm. And it’s everything you need right now.  Without even realizing, you’ve started to drift off to sleep. But Jungkook keeps singing even though you’ve fallen asleep. He wants to make sure you stay asleep, and don’t have to listen to anymore unpleasant sounds, he wants your dreams to be filled with bright colors and happiness. And if the way your breaths are even and unstrained are any indiction, he knows he’s accomplished his goal. 

“Sleep well, angel.”
