succumbing to the demons and dnfing a book for the first time in years 😔
#im so sorry but. I just cannot make myself care.#the first book was so so good but this second one. ough.#this feels like the same fantasy story ive read 500 times already#the usual sequel 'we have to reclaim the kingdom'type thing#and the magic system started out so cool but. now it just feels like the same thing over and over.#like how in house of night they solved every fucking problem with a ritual circle#idk man im just not feeling it and.#the worst part is its not even a bad book! its just really disappointing compared to the first one#and im haunted my the knowledge that i have a tbr with books that are. a lot more interesting.#i think another factor is also that ive been reading really really good books lately#so in comparison this book is just like. yeah.#freeing myself because i do not have an obligation to this book or whatever and reading should be about enjoying yourself <3
