Why do you support someone who gives no fucks about black woman who are just trying to have fun playing basketball. Cc has white privilege and I assume you do too

lmfaooooooo i’m not white and i don’t even live in the USA. caitlin has credited many black women for paving the way for her to be able to be in the position she’s in right now. difference is she mentions them by name. her basketball hero is literally maya moore. she went on national television and paid tribute to sheryl swoopes, lisa leslie, dawn staley, and maya moore for breaking barriers and being icons in women’s sports. she continuously, on record, have said that the wnba have many women in the league who are deserving of recognition and praise, and she has never took any credit for any of the growth happening in women’s basketball right now. i’d link you all these statements, but i have a life and don’t have the time.

asked about the fever’s first charter flight: i think it will be better if everyone has it, the product on the floor will only be better.

not once did she ever make that about herself.

she defended angel reese after the backlash from the 2023 championship game.

she defended chennedy carter and said the flagrant foul only happened because of competitiveness, and praised her for having a good season.

she denounced the racist and misogynistic people who are using her as a proxy for their agendas. i understand that she is not the most vocal player when it comes to social justice issues. does that immediately make her a racist person? why?

she’s never presented herself as a spokesperson, and to be quite honest with you, it would do everyone good if people stopped banging on caitlin clark’s proverbial door demanding statements and speeches, and start LISTENING to the many women in the wnba who are actually VOCAL, and have EXPERIENCED being marginalized. lift up and shine light on these women.

she has never done anything wrong herself, but you label her as a racist person. that’s disgusting to me because there are actual racist people out there. the chicago tribune editorial team. freaks on the internet. they’re everywhere and they’re the ones being racist but they don’t get any substantial pushback because caitlin clark is the one who takes the heat.

not gonna lie, you calling me a white person offended me in levels you cannot imagine. my country was colonized by americans, we are still suffering from the effects of everything done to us by predominantly white countries. i have a bias towards white people – i don’t tend to like them, especially if they’re not self aware.

you accusing me of having white privilege when you don’t even know who i am is rich. you don’t know me, and you don’t know what i see everyday. i live in literal hell. block me and move on with your life. this isn’t a fight you want to pick.

edit: it’s okay not to like her. it’s okay to feel like she isn’t doing enough. it’s okay to stop supporting her because of that. but being so extreme and calling her a racist person is unreasonable. and calling me racist and white? that’s just stupid. have some nuance.

thinking about the scene in book!tbosas where teslee (district three female) was being attacked by the horrifying snakes and she nonverbally pleaded with mizzen (district four male) for help. and he only shook his head, not moving to help her - but the book specifically stated that this was more out of stunned fear/horror than any kind of menace or glee at teslee's imminent death.

and he wasn't even from her district too. they were not in an alliance. she literally had no reason to expect any assistance from him, but district divisions & sectionalism didn't matter when she was scared and in pain. none of these divisions of districts one, two, three, four, five through twelve matter!!! not when children are suffering and dying as penance for a just war that ended several years ago! it's as if the narrative is trying to tell you there is no difference between a suffering/dying child from one district or another.

Aaaaaa this is so wholesome! I haven't been enduring as much of my usual mental health struggle since I've started meds/therapy, but my creativity/productivity has regrettably taken a hit as a possible result? So even if I'm on indefinite hiatus, it's nice to know I've had a positive impact on at least one person somewhere down the line. Someday I'll get back into healthy habits and express through art more reliably again (I mean art has been my escape portal for most of my life)! Just gotta bust off the rust and focus/practice again, even if I'm anxious about all the work that requires. Anyway, I'm rambling: thank you so much!

I just finished The Hunger Games and I just wanna say that hearing Finnick’s story puts Glimmer in a whole new light.

Like, even if she didn’t realize it, there was no way for her to win in that scenario.

I’m like 3 chapters into ballad of songbirds and snakes and already ms Suzanne Collins is pulling ZERO punches in fleshing out panem

#it kind of makes me want a hunger games rewrite #like it was already brutal but there was obviously stuff she was either vague about or didn’t say but it was obvious if/when you were older #or it came out as part of the movies or she would confirm theories #and part of that is the YA rating and everything #in ballad shes already shown how intrinsically everything is still linked even though the capitol is thriving #and the hunger games are polished and entertaining #the capitol were cannibalising each other #and still did decades later when people would disappear after doing anything even remotely in favour of the districts #the tributes are carted around like animals in literal stock carts and in chains on the train to the capitol #later tributes get dolled up and paraded around but they are still animals being led to slaughter in the lead up to the games #and the victors don’t escape the cages they’re still used and gawked at just like throwing Lucy’s group into the monkey cage #anyway Suzanne Collins is a genius for the hunger games and I’ll never shut up about it #the hunger games #the ballad of songbirds and snakes #Suzanne Collins #tbosas ramblings

I havent seen anyone else say it and Im wondering if its because its actually a really obvious read we all know of but. I think season 2 of dont hug me im scared is representative of the main characters as Actors being contractually stuck in one of those shows thats been running for like 30 years and not able to get out of it

#they all have moments of questioning the formula and wanting to get out but also all just as often #fall into going along with things and all of them have moments of just wanting a Singing Bastard to show up because #its what always happens. I also think the stuff with #Lesley is part of it and everything but I dont think the show is Literal still #Maybe Lesley is the showrunner who started the show as like a tribute to her dead son and then it #got taken over by the network and executive meddled into being a soulless vehicle for advertising and pushing harmful and backwards ideas #So its like her being shackled to this Twisted Version of a project she started with good intentions and now shes resentful #which is why she keeps snapping at Yellow Guy and seems to be like kind of enjoying the puppets being stuck #and getting hurt. ok thats it thank you #Also I do see it as a sequel to the youtube show #Because of the changed date and characters from the youtube being referenced #and some people think events from the webseries are being referenced too like bird guy being dead #And the Youtube Series ended with them being rebooted.#So. Ok thats it #I dont know why DHMIS is really interesting to me Im really into the show #It has that perfect balance of like clearly having a deeper meaning without leaning too heavily into it and still being like a #funny little comedy horror show with really cool production
