eyes of silver and gold
Tumblr media
soulmate au! everyone has heterochromia, one eye is your natural colour the other is your soulmate’s natural colour. once you meet eye contact, all eyes return to its natural colour.
featuring: neuvillette
word count: 1075
cw: soulmate!au, reader is a liyue adeptus, gn!reader, reader’s eyes are GOLD because GOLD, traveler can be lumine or aether (they/them pronouns), intentional lowercase, not proofread
author’s notes: super duper rushed IM SORRY,,,, this could be written better but yeah 😭😭 i’ll do better next time !!! (i love soulmate aus)
_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
neuvillette blinked at the reflection of himself on the mirror for the nth time. it was not the first time he had done so, but every time he observed the eyes of the citizens of fontaine it made him question what made his soulmate so special.
because one thing for sure, he was almost certain his soulmate was not human.
the chief justice knew the eyes of a human when he sees one. their round iris, and the common eye colours of brown or blue could easily tell that they’re merely human.
however, his soulmate’s eye replacing his left one did not look like the eyes of a human. it was an unnatural colour, usually similar to the eye colours of those who wield a vision. what caught his attention though, was the pattern of his soulmate’s eye that stood out amongst the others. like how his eyes are of a dragon’s, and lady furina’s eyes are of dewdrops, his soulmate’s eye, igniting a warm colour, shouted gold.
the first thing he had in mind was the land of gold where the geo element usurper resided. he knew liyue was a land of the adepti, where many immortals who once battled in the archon war still lived in the mountains of amber.
yet for centuries living as the hydro dragon, he had never once encountered his soulmate.
was it because of the distance between them? it was understandable, after all, for an adeptus to remain loyal to their homeland.
he had visited liyue a few times but failed to find this soulmate of his. maybe they were not residing in liyue after all?
neuvillette chose to let fate decide.
he heaved a small sigh as he turned away from the mirror, back to his office desk to continue checking the documents for the next trial.
“monsieur neuvillette!” a loud, squeaky voice which he knew belonged to a certain floating alien chimed through the door. he watched as surprisingly, only paimon, flew her way into his office with an excited expression.
he blinked confusedly at her unusual demeanour. “miss paimon,” he called, “how may i assist you today?”
he allowed her to take her time as she panted heavily. “your—“ she looked up at him and he swore he saw her eyes sparkling a lot brighter than usual. “my?” he asked.
“soulmate! we found your soulmate!! they’re outside!” paimon exclaimed excitedly.
neuvillette’s world stopped for a millisecond, for he had not known that his soulmate had just traveled kilometres from the southern liyue to the northern fontaine. he did not realize his legs moved on his own, allowing paimon to drag him by the sleeve towards the outside of the opera house.
“monsieur?” he heard paimon called before snapping himself out of his thoughts. he noticed her looking at him in concern, realizing he had stopped his tracks right by the door. “are you okay?” she asked.
is he okay? he wondered the same.
he felt an uncomfortable feeling in his chest, as if someone— or something, was banging the drums inside. he felt the drums getting louder and faster, and he could not feel his legs anymore.
he inhaled sharply. “i’m perfectly fine, miss paimon,” he paused in between, “well, let’s meet my… soulmate, shall we?”
his gaze turned towards the entrance of the door, sensing the melusine looking at him eagerly as she patiently waited for him to get ready. “monsieur neuvillette! are you going out?” she asked.
he nodded. “yes, i am. thank you very much.”
the melusine by the door clapped her hands excitedly as she immediately skipped towards the door knob before opening it for him. “well then, enjoy meeting them, monsieur!”
neuvillette watched the door opens before the light outside instantly came greeting him in an embrace.
and the first thing that entered his vision was a pair of heterochromatic eyes that matches his.
you were there with the traveler, dressed in foreign attire not befitting of fontaine. your vision clinging onto your waist like a proud medal. you were by the entrance, surrounded by melusines who were saying how your eyes match their chief justice. he watched how your confused expression tries to have a conversation with the little melusines while the traveler laughed next to you.
the cute moment did not last when the melusines notice the presence of their chief justice, immediately rushing towards him excitedly wanting to ask him about his soulmate. yet his widened eyes had locked with yours, watching your eye adorned with his blueish-purple colour slowly changing back to gold— the familiar gold that greeted him every morning in front of the mirror.
“monsieur neuvillette! your eyes!” he heard a melusine exclaimed, their hands holding his sleeve as they jumped happily.
he blinked confusedly at the tugs of his sleeves when a melusine appeared with a mirror in their hands. they showed a reflection of himself where his eyes were back to his original form— the mixture of silver, blue and purple.
he averted his attention to his soulmate who seemed to be doing the same. you were looking at your own reflection, realizing your eye has reverted to its original form. he watched your surprised expression until you noticed his attention had diverted towards you.
your flushed expressions felt a little foreign to the iudex of fontaine, but he was certainly relieved at the sight of your comfortable state in a foreign region.
he gave you a sincere smile as he placed a hand over his chest as a form of greeting.
“greetings. i’m neuvilette, chief justice and iudex of fontaine. it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
since birth, neuvillette never understood the concept of soulmates until he was given a chance to experience such phenomenon. from when he had awoken to a change in his appearance to encountering the partner that was given to him by fate, it was a surprise that a being like him could have one too.
in fact, his own soulmate was not mortal either. an adeptus originating from the land of gold, you began your exploration in the continent with the fellow traveler when they could not stop persuading you to follow them to meet someone.
a smile was formed on your lips in return as you introduced your name to him, which sounded nice to his ears. “and it’s a pleasure to meet you too, mister neuvillette.”
maybe he could give this concept a try.

Distantly, you could remember how excited you’d been to be invited to the showing.
You’d opened the invitation at your desk, surrounded by a small group of your more friendly coworkers who’d go on to clap and cheer and promise a round of after-hour drinks after you finished reading out the snippet of text scrolled across the cream-colored cardstock. You weren’t special - a small legion of journalists would be invited to write puff-pieces on all the new models and decide which androids were going to be in fashion next season - but you’d loved Teyvat as long as you could remember, spent more of your free time than you cared to admit doing research on robots you’d never be able to afford, not on a salary like yours. It wasn’t a world-changing, earth-shaking accomplishment, but it made you happy. It was something you wanted, and it was something you’d finally gotten your hands on after years of waiting.
You couldn’t remember when your excitement had started to wane. You were still wide-eyed and slack-jawed when you stepped into the venue, an old opera house restored and decorated to better suit the Fontaine Collection’s high-luxury theming. You hadn’t been able to bite back your smile as you kissed the back of a refitted Focalors’ hand (or, Lady Furina’s hand, as she told you to call her in a tone you could only compare to that of a newly-crowned monarch still drinking in her subjects’ attention), and watched Clorinde’s fencing demonstration with the sort of rapt attention most people would save for famous idols and athletes. Even after you lost your photographer in the crowd, your heart skipped a beat as Neuvillette (the brooding, stoic type of this line, you were sure to note when you next found a minute to yourself) offered you a flute of champagne that you readily accepted, and when a roaming Lyney-droid pulled you to the side and offered to show you magic trick with an irresistible glint in his eye, you didn’t think twice before looping your arm through his and letting him guide you to an all-but abandoned backstage area. You thought you might get something exclusive, something to separate you from the crowd of influencers and tabloids who weren’t afraid to promise features that the approachable beta models only half-confirmed. You thought you’d be safe with a premium-grade android hanging off your arm.
Maybe your excitement didn’t wane at all. It’d been there one moment, then gone the next, replaced with a dark coil of dread and some kind of dizzying, vision-blurring nausea. The sharp corner of the vanity bit harshly into the backs of your thighs, the mirror pressed into your back slowly sapping the warmth from your skin and replacing it with something else, a numbing chill you couldn’t seem to shake. Your clothes had been torn to shreds, left to scatter across the dressing room floor, but Lyney was still fully dressed, fully composed; the palest blush painted across his cheeks and his lips ever so slightly parted but all other signs of arousal, of embarrassment absent. You made a mental note to work that into your article. The new models seem to have a shared sense of unwavering confidence– a stark contrast from their more reserved predecessors from Mondstadt and Sumeru. Maybe you’d be able to get a quote from their handlers, if you ever made it back to the show floor.
You’d have to give Lyney his own section, titled something your boss would have to talk to HR about: Teyvat's New Magician is Good With More Than His Cards. You could only feel half of what he was doing to you, shock dulling your already limited senses, but the fingers drawing loose patterns in your clit was near-overwhelming, the feeling of his synthetic cock splitting you open inescapable, unrelenting. He didn’t need to breathe, to worry about things like soreness or bruising or cramps, to do anything but thrust into you at a pace so erratic, so unyielding that it left little room for you to do anything but lie there and take it. His hips were pushed flat against yours, his tip grinding against something soft and unprotected inside of you and drawing out a ragged gasp, a cracked moan. Out of reflex, your hands shot to his shoulders, nails digging into whatever you could reach, and he let out an airy laugh, leaning closer and encouraging you to hold him tighter, to see if you could tear through the faux-skin Teyvat so often advertised as ‘invincible’. That would make headlines, even if it wasn’t likely to cast you in the best light.
His free hand drifted from your hip to your side to your cheek, his knuckles brushing underneath your chin before he cupped your cheek and pulled you into a deep, lingering kiss. His saliva was flavored, though you couldn’t say what it was supposed to taste like. Cotten candy, maybe – so cloying and sugary, all specifics were lost to the sweetness. It suited him. If you’d been able to use your hands, you would’ve applauded his developers for their attention to detail.
When he pulled back, he was smiling. There was another kiss to the corner of your mouth, then another to the corner of your jaw. Finally, he settled against your throat – his grin so broad, you could feel his perfect teeth resting against your jugular as he spoke. “They told me I’d be able to find a master tonight. The others aren’t ready yet, but I am. They worked the hardest on me.” He was bragging, transparently and unabashedly. In any other situation, you might’ve thought he was trying to impress you. “I knew it had to be you the moment our eyes met. So cute, so easily impressed – I knew you just had to be mine.”
He seemed to perk up, to catch on something. He pressed the pad of his thumb into your clit, and your entire body jolted. “No, no, that’s not right,” he went on, shaking his head. “I’m supposed to be yours.I keep getting that mixed up.”
Faulty programming? It’d be a scandal if it got out, and moreover, it’d be a massive payout if Teyvat decided they preferred to handle things behind closed doors. You bet they’d done it before. Maybe you’d look into that, later on.
Your back arched violently, another pitchy whine bubbling up from some forgotten cavity of your chest. As if in response, he inhaled sharply, buckling against you in the throes of simulated pleasure. His pace sped up, his teeth latching onto the curve of your neck, but any pain it might’ve caused was lost on you, blurred and distorted by the thick rope of tension pulling taut and snapping in the pit of your stomach. Your climax washed over you in slow, throbbing waves, and Lyney was kind enough to pretend he was lost in the same agonizing bliss, to act like that was the reason he was bucking into you so violently.
To act like he had an excuse to do this to you.
He fucked you through your orgasm, eventually stilling inside of you. With his body slotted against yours, his teeth still buried in your skin, he lingered there, only drawing back once your breathing had started to slow and deepen, once you’d stopped shaking underneath him. Even then, he didn’t let you go, didn’t leave you to cry your eyes out in an empty dressing room. Rather, he pressed a quick, fleeting kiss into your forehead before beaming at you - the light in his eyes so bright, you could almost forget it wasn’t real. “I’ll introduce you to my sister. I’m sure she’ll like you, too.”
Right, his sister, Lynette. You hadn’t seen her yet.
She and her twin brother weren’t supposed to be revealed until the show at the end of the night. You doubted anyone had even thought to power them on, yet.
“She’ll be as happy as I am to know we’ll be leaving with such a lovely master.”

♫ 00; ↠ TEAR DROPS ON MY GUITAR-(prologue)
↳ my heart beats for you-a scaramouche smau
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The door of the CRUX swung open, the familiar jingle of the door chime sounded as you entered the building. You were greeted by some familiar faces frantically running around the room.
Some employees were rushing around, frantically trying to salvage what they could from the flood waters that had recently devastated the CRUX. Guitars lay broken and waterlogged on the floor, while sheet music and CDs floated in the murky puddles.
Kokomi and Furina were holding rusty buckets, and they placed them underneath leaky spots from the ceiling. Yoimiya was helping Mona move a busted keyboard outside, and Lumine was holding a box full of old records and CDs.
"Oi!"
You turned around to the source of the voice, it was another one of the employees. She had dark hair and deep blue eyes, she would've been awfully pretty if she wasn't too busy scowling at you.
"Hey Furong..."
"Don't "hey Furong" me!"
She shoved a heavy box in your arms, and another smaller (but still very heavy!) box on top of the one you were already carrying. "And get out of the door frame! Being Beidou's favorite won't earn you any special treatment from me."
"Speaking of which, do you know where-"
Furong stormed off to scold more of her fellow co-workers before you could finish your question.
"-she is..."
Lumine passed by you, her hands also full.
"Don't mind her, she's just jealous."
"Well who wouldn't be?"
Lumine chuckled before gesturing to the back of the store. "We're supposed to move the CD and record boxes to the studio, Beidou wants us to sort through all of them."
You nodded and let Lumine lead the way, your vision was obscured due to the boxes in your arms, so you had to rely on Lumine's directions to make your way into the CRUX's music studios.
"Archons, I don't know how much longer I can hold these things. Why the fuck are these boxes so heavy? They're CDs!"
You complained as you almost slammed yourself into a shelf for the hundredth time.
"Tell me about it." you heard Lumine groan. "I should've forced Aether to come, could've unloaded all this work on him."
"Like he'd actually do all that for you."
"Never said I had to be the one he was working for⁓"
You could hear the smirk in her voice, even though you couldn't see her expression. Your face started heating up, you were suddenly grateful for the boxes hiding your head. Lumine adored poking fun at her brother's crush on you, she'd lessened up with the jokes after your break-up, but alas, there was no escape from her wrath.
"Shut up..." you muttered, your face growing redder by the second.
"What? It's true ya know." she continued, she must've noticed your silence, which she mistook for discomfort rather than embarrassment.
"Okay, I'll stop."
You heard a door creak, which must have been Lumine opening the door to one of the studios in the building. You set down the boxes, feeling relief from the absence of the heavy objects in your arms.
You looked around the room, the studio wasn't a professional recording studio, not by any means. It was a simple room with a few power outlets and speakers, but it was more than enough for you and the rest of C✧LESTIA.
You and Lumine sat down on the floor, taking out some of the contents of the boxes and laid them out in front of you. Lumine sorted the piles by genre, while you sorted them by colour.
"You know, maybe this isn't so bad, there are only a few boxes, so it won't take as much time as I thought-"
Lumine's hopeful thoughts were cut short as Furong and her co-worker Xinyan, along with several other employees dropped ten more boxes in the room (and big ones at that!).
"Thanks you guys, you're the best!" Xinyan gave you a big thumbs up as she exited the studio with the rest of her co-workers.
"-I take that back" Lumine sighed, at the pile of brown cardboard cubes. "I really should've forced Aether to come here..."
The two of you heard the studio door creak open again.
"You girls need help?"
It was Furina! Along with all the other C✧LESTIA members too! The others joined you and Lumine on the floor and helped sort the records and CD's. You and the girls chatted for a bit, brief small-talk about school work and a few rumours that have been going around about your classmates.
You heard Yoimiya groan as she was rummaging through a box for a certain CD. "Lumineee! Why didn't you just ask your brother to come! He would've done all this for us!"
"Believe me, I wish I did." she sighed, and glanced over to you.
"Okay, what's with you guys and using Aether for free labour?" you joked. You had lost count of all the times Lumine had baited the poor boy into doing favours for her under the pretext that "(Y/N) would be so grateful if you did this for her!"
"He's my brother, and he still has a crush on you, who happens to be my best friend, who wouldn't take advantage of that?"
"He doesn't have feelings for me Lumine-"
"Ooo, who doesn't have feelings for (Y/N)?"
You whipped your head around after hearing a familiar voice come from behind you.
"Beidou!"
You stood up and tackled the older woman into a hug, she returned the gesture, ruffling your hair while doing so.
"Hey kid!" she pulled away from the hug to squish your cheeks together, which made your lips pout. "I missed you, ya know."
She looked towards the rest of C✧LESTIA, who were still on the floor, sorting CD's and records. "Thanks for doing this for me you guys., I appreciate it."
Suddenly, you could hear Mona clear her throat from her side of the room. "We're getting paid right?"
"Mona!" Kokomi exclaimed scolding her friend.
"What?"
"Nah it's fine, but I don't think I can afford to pay you guys properly, sorry 'bout that."
Mona sulked, clearly disappointed in the lack of rewards, though her expression quickly changed after Kokomi swatted her shoulder, clearly ashamed by the astrologist's behaviour.
"No Miss Beidou, it's fine really, you've already done so much for us." Furina said, expressing her gratefulness, making up for Mona's lack thereof.
"You letting us practice here is more than enough!" she continued. Furina glanced around the room, just realizing the terrible condition the room was in. "We'll still be able to practice here, right...?" she asked.
Beidou's expression darkened slightly, as she looked up at the ceiling, observing the leaks, and cracks, even without the flood affecting it, the studio was always in terrible shape.
She took a breath, "Sorry girls, but you'll probably need to find a new place to practice, and to perform."
Suddenly, you and your fellow bandmates let out a chorus of "What? Why?"s and several other expressions of disappointment and grief.
"This whole room looks like it's going to collapse any second, the last thing I need is a lawsuit because one of you guys got hurt." she sighed again. "I'm sorry girls."
"But hey! I'm sure Furina can use her actress connections to find you guys a new venue."
"I don't think the Opera Epiclese is looking for amateur rock bands, Beidou." Yoimiya said as she sighed, still sorting through the contents of the boxes.
You, and the others heard a faint voice in the distance calling for Beidou, it was probably Xinyan or Furong asking her for help.
"I'm coming!" she shouted back, before she left the room, she gave you another hug, this one longer and more tender.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll figure something out, you always do."
She opened the creaky studio door once more and waved goodbye to you and the rest of C✧LESTIA.
You decided to not tell Beidou how lost you were, and how there was no way you guys could afford to rent another studio, much less find a new place for gigs.
"I'm sure you'll figure something out!"
You hoped that she was right.

A Fallen Star
Valentines special🩵
Lynette x fem!reader
AU in which Y/N is also a stage assistant and the one doing the tank trick that Lynette has done in the game
warnings: angst (ofc), slight description of death
Tumblr media
Evening
Court of Fontaine
Opera Epliclese
.
.
.
The curtains have been lifted to reveal the three stars of tonight's show - Lyney, Lynette and Y/N. The third was the newest member of the troupe, aquired after the events which led to the Iudex becoming the ruler of Fontaine after Furina had left the throne.
Y/N was trained by Lynette herself after meeting her after a show and then their friendship blossoming into love and thus Lynette offered Y/N to join the troupe, thinking that a partner on the stage wouldn't hurt.
So there the three were, in front of the audience that had once again paid to watch them do their tricks, either out of admiration or out of curiosity to see the third member on stage again. Being a new member led to a plethora of new questions the audience in the beginning, also to Charlotte asking demanding to get an interview with you and Lynette, the relationship having been out of any prying eyes until your stage appearance.
.
This time around on the stage would be a number which the Fontaine audience has seen it all before but having been performed by Lynette in the past, but now it would be performed by Y/N , which meant that she she would be put in the water tank, and then expected to get out.
Lynette had begged her darling to not try it because she was too inexperienced for it - yes she has trained for over six months or even more that that but it also didn't mean that she was experienced enough to attempt such thing. But alas, being stubborn and wanting to prove that in fact she was good at her job and to prove to Lynette that no matter what happened if there was anything dangerous that would need someone to actually do it, then it wouldn't be Lynette.
.
Y/N was lowered in the tank, having chains tied to both her legs which were not tied to the floor or anything, just kept her ankles encased and limited her movement slightly. Lynette and her exchanged small smiles before she sank, and Lynette closed the lid , wishing that this trick would go well.
But the question was if it actually will? There was uncertainty building up in both Lynette and Y/N, the doubt that everything will go smoothly was growing by the second and it wouldn't leave them both.
.
.
She had about three minutes of air, in which she had to find a key between the grates at the bottom of the tank with which she would unlock her shackles and would ultimately get out.
But that didn't end up happening.
Which ended up happening was that tragedy stuck in the way that the chain which held the shackled together had gotten stuck between the grates, when she was trying to find the key, which kept slipping out of her grasp until she noticed that she wasn't able to move around in the slightest, being stuck a pinned point only due to the chain getting stuck.
Panic started coursing through her, slightly trashing around trying to drag the chain out of the small space it was stuck into. That was noticed by Lyney and Lynette which led to a complete panic in them too, Lynette rushing to the top of the tank, thinking that she would be able to help her lover.
The shut door wouldn't budge.
It was stuck maybe from a mechanism being affected by rust or just being shut in the wrong way but the most important thing is that it wasn't budging in the slightest, no matter how much she would try. And the last resort was to call someone to pry it open as Lyney had tried to open it as well but due to the absence of their visions meant that they couldn't just burn their way in doubtful if that would even work.
.
At this point the audience was panicking as well seeing how the performer - you - was still trying to achieve the goal of being free with little success and the seconds trickled down until your demise, a death which would end up in you being consumed by the very water you were supposed to escape.
Lynette slumped against the door of the tank, not wanting to go down and see your lifeless body, floating still in the calm water, still having the chain caught on the rails. She couldn't cry, being in shock as the curtains finally fell down, obstructing the view of what happened from the viewers. In the end the audience still thought that you were alive and that it was just part of the show for you to be like that, not that your lungs had filled with water while you made a futile attempt to get the chain out of the rails and the key being long lost beneath the rails at the bottom of the tank.
Eventually your body had been taken out of the water, Lynette hanging onto your lifeless body as if to reassure herself that you were still alive. Even if your body was icy cold and your heart wasn't beating anymore, eyes closed in a peaceful fashion as if you were just in a deep sleep and not that Celestia had taken your soul back to the bowels of life's creation.
.
.
Your funeral had happened in two days time, the twins and Freminet were there, Arlechinno watching from the distance, thinking of a way to make Lynette happy. Lynette brought you rainbow roses,a last "I love you" as she put them last over your lifeless body. She watched as your coffin was lowered and then covered with dirt, the headstone being put and she put once again a bouquet of rainbow roses, making sure to be the last to leave.
But she wasn't the one to leave last, Arlechinno watching from the shadows. Watching Lynette leave still being in a state where she could barely move from your grave without glancing back the whole time, as if Celestia would be a kind soul and bring you back. But that would never happen, nothing could bring you back. To Lynette that is,but to Arlechinno maybe it was an opportunity to let someone else try a new thing and maybe make Lynette happy in the end.
But until then she will visit your grave almost everyday, bringing rainbow roses, as a statement of her love to you.

Spoilers 4.2 I hate how some aspect of Furina being handled
Look I understand that Furina is basically a part of Focalors plan to save Fontaine. Her role was vital to do what is necessary and she has been tormented for so long because of this role, I understand that she is the mortal vessel of Focalors, but I hate how she just turned into a human with vision and doesn't even get to keep her divinity or divine-like aspect. I don't mind her stepping down as an Archon so she can finally be happy doing her own thing, but by god she turned into a mere mortal with a vision put a bitter taste in my mouth...
At least make her a bit more special than just a human with vision, something ! Anything! Like maybe give her a longer lifespan so it'll make up for the 500 years of suffering, I don't know man she will live for max 80 years doesn't seem an equal trade to the five centuries of torment and bullshit
Zhongli won't age so does the rest of the archons, the thought of Furina slowly aging and die as an old woman is too much man... 😭
