trick or treat :D
Oh shit hey!! A deleted snippet for you, my dude:
Treat!!
(For context, the lads and Reader were going shopping. I believe this was supposed to begin the Sun/Moon arc- I don't exactly remember though, because this was so long ago 😭 but I hope y'all enjoy anyway!)
~~~~~
The storefront alone was bustling, people hurrying in and out, chatting on their phones, and conversing with one another while you waited in line with Sun and Moon for a cart.
The woman ahead of you shifted, and a baby popped into view over her shoulder, their chubby little face screwed up in distress, mouth drawn thin and eyebrows scrunched.
"Shh, shh, shh, kiddo." The woman murmured tiredly, the baby bouncing slightly and continuing to fuss even as she rocked them. "Please."
You felt your face scrunch in sympathy, both at the last, exhausted word and for the baby themselves, who looked about ready to cry.
There was movement beside you and a flash of silver, and you turned to look as Moon stepped forward, shaking the car keys gently a safe distance from the child. The baby whined, but dropped their shoulders and opened their eyes, at which point Sun offered a quiet gasp and an excited hi!, waving at the child.
You smiled as the baby's upset expression melted away, leaving them staring at Sun and Moon with wide brown eyes, troubles forgotten and attention fully caught.
Moon drew their gaze with another jingle of the keys, then placed the keys in his palm and covered them with his other hand. He shook his hands about, then opened them up and showed the baby his empty palms.
The baby's eyes widened just slightly, and looked to Sun, who gasped a bit louder, putting on a shocked expression and looking from the baby to Moon's palms. "Where'd it go?" He whispered, and the baby's face wavered for a moment before splitting into a wide grin, a bubbly laugh following.
The woman's shoulders sagged in visible relief, and she turned to give Sun and Moon a nod, at which they straightened in surprise. "No, you're fine, thank you. She's been fussing for a few hours. You guys have kids?"
"Oh, no, not y-" Sun began cheerfully, having recovered from the surprise before he abruptly cut himself off. "Ah, er- maybe one day."
"Well, as far as I'm concerned, you'd make pretty good parents." The woman replied matter-of-factly before facing forward to grab her cart. "Thanks again."
"T-Thank you."
"You're very welcome, miss."
As soon as she'd walked out of earshot, you squeezed Sun's hot hand, catching his jittery attention. "Not yet?" You asked with a smile, albeit one spread across a burning face, to which he responded with a squeak.
"W-Well, I, hm-"
"I'm just teasing, love." You chuckled, bumping gently against him as you walked. "We don't have to talk about it now. But, well. If-slash-when we do have kids, she's right, they'd have kickass parents, that's all I'm saying for now."
"You know, you've really got to stop flattering us like this, or else I'm going to propose." Sun said, bending down to nuzzle against you. "I may not have the money for the ring yet, but I have spotted what looks like the crafts section."
Towards the end of his sentence, he'd begun to trail off, sounding distracted as he slowly raised his head up and focused on the end of one of the aisles, where you could spot several packages of stickers, pipe cleaners, and bedazzling gems. You swapped an amused look with Moon, then tugged at Sun's hand to get his attention again.
"Would you like to go to the crafts section, love?"
"...Maybe. Ooh, okay, yes, very much so."
"I'll come with you." Moon offered, before hesitating. "If you don't mind, Starlight."
"Nah, not at all. Have fun, you two." You said, smiling when a now-vibrating Sun grabbed Moon's hand and pulled him quickly away to the crafts aisle.
You headed to the cleaning supplies section yourself and began to browse, but you didn't even get to pull the first bottle of disinfecting spray off the shelf before your phone began to buzz insistently in your pocket.
With a sigh, you pulled it out and opened up your messages with Abby.
Aw, boo. What are you doing now?
At the store. Sun immediately spotted the crafts section and took Moon with him. I'm getting cleaning supplies. You replied.
Girl what. Came the immediate response. Go with them!
No lol, the house needs cleaning. They get privacy and I get 64oz of lavender scented mopping liquid for wood, tile, and laminate floors.
Boo. Who has the phone?
Sun, I think. But no interfering, just sass. He said he wanted to take the lead.
I remember! Besides, bold of you to assume sass wasn't my original intention lmao
Yeah, I should've known haha
You shook your head affectionately and pocketed your phone before dragging the hefty jug of liquid off of the shelf and seating it at the back of the cart, followed by the spray and then a pack of sponges.
Don’t feel guilty about not feeding our addictions. In the end, its probably better for us. At the end of the day you don’t owe us internet goblins anything. We will love you regardless. And we will be much happier knowing that you are happy and healthy versus stressing over trying to write a fic.
Your writing may have drawn us in, but your delightful personality is what has kept us around. Stay safe and sane and know that you are loved regardless of how much clexa crack you produce 😝 -🦦
