Literally just noticed something crazy and maybe it's because I rewatched KnB a while ago and now I'm finally able to play Bllk PWC but it's kind of wild...
How on one hand we have Kise; he's a popular, he's got the looks, money and opportunities people would kill for and in addition to that he's an all rounder who's capable of replicating anyone's moves. Everyone hyped this up, and I'm pretty sure next to Kagami or Kagami he was one of the fan favourites.
And on the other hand, that's almost practically the same mind you, we have Mikage Reo who also has all these qualities but because he's not selfish and he unashamedly devotes himself to chasing a dream with Nagi (the deuteragonist), as they refuse to fully conform to blue Lock's standards, so many people like to see him as weak and holding Nagi back but that's really not case.
These characters are practically of the same mold but maybe it's cuz I wasn't in fandom at the height of Knb, but the thing is that I've never seen Kise hate but as a bllk fan almost every month is having to watch so many many people mischaracterize or undercut Reo's importance to Nagi because they're not following the script of staying apart to grow.
For Kise and Kuroko's story, it was probably best they stayed apart, it's not like Kise didn't make an attempt to pull Kuroko back in his orbit but it serves the plot that they find their own paths and Kise learn to acknowledge others and see them worthy of respect.
Reo's spent his whole life acknowledging people, spent his life confirming to the ideals his parents and the society he grew up set for him. For him Soccer and meeting Nagi are two things so intrinsically entwined especially since they stemmed from the one thing he wants to earn for himself. So obviously Nagi's just as big a part of his story as he is to Nagi's.
I feel I kind of lost the plot at some point but what I'm really trying to say is that Reo hate and trying to push a terrible interpretation of him is basically low IQ behavior. Everyone in Blue Lock is fucking emotional and crazy to some degree so him been icy in that one arc to Nagi is actually nothing crazy. Teaming back up with Nagi in NEL was a questionable at best but at this point it's clear they're dedicated on being a package deal no matter how many L's they might take along the way (which lol love that for them, couple goals).
And most especially him (or Nagi) refusing to give up on working together isn't stupid, for all the ego and selfish talk some haters seem to speed they're blind to seeing this duo's conviction to being the Isagi adjacent is their own version of Ego. An Ego that relies on their shared dream.
That's all from me, this probably seemed like a shipping post towards the end but hey, I am their number one fan (referring to ngro here). I love Kise too but in KnB I think I'd have to say Tetsuya is my favorite. Hope I made some Reo lovers happy and some Reo haters mad, I'll be back to edit when I don't have to retake a test in the morning ( ◜‿◝ )♡ I've gotten a couple Asks about ngro dynamics so I'll probably be tackling those next, see ya <333

Blue Lock Chapter 240 Thoughts
I know a lot of people want Nagi’s downfall after reading this new chapter but I gotta say I think BOTH Nagi and Reo will fall.
As we noticed it wasn’t just Nagi’s bid that went down. Reo’s went down too and the problem is that their dynamic is still not developed. They came back way too soon.
While I am glad they have mended the friendship, it would have been better if they had talked it out and then proceeded to still work on themselves separately. I honestly wished that they were on different teams because it would be a lot easier to accomplish that.
To me, both are doomed to fail because they both do not have true Egos. You have one who doesn’t know what his Ego is and doesn’t even seem to have one and then you have the other whose ego is wrapped around the person with seemingly no ego.
So essentially, you have two people with no egos. I honestly don’t believe that Reo’s ego is to make Nagi the best striker. I don’t think that is how egos work because egos are suppose to be self-centered and selfish. You have to believe that YOU are the best in the world. A true ego has no room for other people.
So Reo’s ego being centered around Nagi is holding him back. He has put himself in the support role when he needs to act like he is the protagonist. Reo is insanely talented and a genius himself but as we see with both the manga and Episode Nagi, he does not see himself that way. From the get go, he has put Nagi on this pedestal and has placed everything on him. Nagi similarly has done the same thing.
But this will not work. As we know, the reason why Nagi beat Isagi was in part because he believed himself to be the protagonist of the story. THAT is what it takes to be the best. That belief.
But when you have someone who is downplaying themselves and then another who can’t seem to find the motivation to be the best. Of course both are doomed to fail.
I personally believe that they both need to separate because they are falling back into those bad habits. Reo is going back to putting Nagi on this pedestal and while I don’t think Nagi is going back into complacency, I think he is really struggling to find a motivation to keep pushing and improving. And Reo doesn’t see that his usual tactics for Nagi are not gonna work this time. Nagi is very much aware that what he accomplished with Isagi was probably a one time thing but Reo does not see it that way. He kind of dismisses Nagi’s unease and says “just continue doing what you are doing and I will handle the rest.”
But that was the old dynamic and that is not going to work. And I think Nagi knows this because he pauses and stares at Reo. But he looks uneasy. He concedes in the end but to me that signaled that Nagi doesn’t really believe what Reo is saying. Nor should he because that old dynamic and way of thinking will not get them anywhere now that they are so far along.
And I really feel bad for Nagi because he is trying! Like to me it really seems like he is trying to find that motivator, to keep going and to produce results but he is having a hard time. And the problem is nobody really understand him. Rin was the WRONG person to ask questions too because…yeah… that guy. And literally everyone else is super intense as well. Nagi is the ONLY person in Blue Lock who does not have the intensity that everyone else has. Even Reo has that intensity, a goal that he is working towards. But like Nagi said, he literally tagged along. Sure he felt new emotions like curiosity, frustration, and anger but Nagi is a very mellow and rational person. And when you have everyone else acting so freaking crazy and intense it is no wonder that he has no one to talk to about his issues because no one can understand his mindset.
I would really love to see Nagi actually talk to Reo about his issues and reservations and have a serious conversation on what they should do. I think with the proper guidance they can definitely work through it but at this stage, Nagi seriously needs to discover his ego and Reo really needs to be a lot more self-reflecting and a lot less self-deprecating.

to be so honest, making a decision on who to match you with took me a lot longer than it usually does. i went though so many options— hiori, kunigami, chigiri, nagi— and none of them fit in the way that i wanted them to. whenever i'd try to pair traits and interests, everything felt really forced and that's the last thing i want to when doing a personality pairing; but eventually i landed on reo! i think you and reo fit together very very well, and i'm pretty confident on that!
one thing that you and reo can mutually relate, is your need to achieve. you're both extremely ambitious people and when you have a goal, there's no stopping you until you reach it. reo knows that you understand that obsession and crave for success. he doesn't feel judged when he's overly passionate about something and talks about it for hours on end, knowing that you're listening to every word he says with an open mind. most people think he's crazy for believing he and nagi can be kings of the football world, but you don't think that. you don't think that at all. if anything, you're right next to him cheering him on; while also giving him a few small reality checks along the way.
for the most part, hopeless romance isn't something that reo thinks about. typically, girls fawn over him due to his parent's money, only wanting to become a rich heiress without actually liking reo for his real personality; they prefer his phony one. you, however, introduce him to the truth that there can be love without manipulation or falseness. you show him how little gestures matter and that he shouldn't waste his time on people who aren't patient enough to see him as he really is. there is a potential love story in reo's book and you're the only one who can start the next chapter and help him read on.
now, you have many hobbies that reo isn't necessarily extremely interested in; but that's not an issue. the thing is with reo, is that he loves to get involved in the things his loved ones enjoy— if you have a hyperfixation on a video game, kdrama, or musician, he's right there beside you to listen or watch along. he loves to splurge on you; aka: taking you out on any kind of date your heart desires and buying you anything you have your eye on— and he's such a doting boyfriend that you can't help but love him for his obsession with making you happy. you've taught reo how to love something other than a hobby, and he's going to show you how thankful he is for that every day.

ive caught up w blue lock.... (anime only not manga sorry I usually dont read mangas lol) some Thoughts:
biggest critique is the use of the overpowered self insert characters lmao. like isagi is the generic japanese teen boy who despite having no significant athletic ability is able to rapidly improve and compete w some CRAZY talented guys, ego is the slightly older generic japanese 20 smth whose ideas about things are taken 100% seriously and given a bunch of money and little to no criticism ('cant argue w him hes RIGHT') for some truly batshit ideas. I’m not a huuge fan of that sort of thing (as I’m not the target audience) and it makes me roll my eyes p much constantly sorry :/
second biggest critique is that I CANNOT take soccer this seriously ksagjavshshfdsshhsh sorry but it is Not that big of a deal 😭 plus the amount of goals theyve been scoring from the start is super unrealistic I feel (tho maybe thats a biased opinion from the only soccer ive watched being whatever my dad has on in the english premier league or whatever??? idk I feel like those are always 1-3 goals total for the game for the most part)
HOWEVER. I do like the show I promise. listing good things now those are my only gripes really!!!
bachira is v v v good, he's my lil guy ❤️ I also like nagi a lot tho!! which surprised me bc hes not usually my character type but idk.... hes fun teehee. his relationship drama w reo and new friendship w isagi is keeping me SO hooked
general shoutout to all the side characters tbh; ive liked p much all of them so far?? also the drama squad of nagi/barou/chigiri all rooming together KILLED MEEE I love them sm
despite criticizing isagi in the first point I actually do also like isagi a lot LMAO. I didnt think I would but ive been really engaged by the way he thinks about the matches and puts things together, esp in the second selection! makes it somewhat more believable that hes made it so far but also just like. the connections themselves are v cool idk it feels like a good version of the whole 'ive planned this 30 steps ahead of u' thing
I also like how theyve been balancing the 'you need to work w a team to maximize potential' and 'you need to have your own individual skill to be worth anything' thing to! I was actually super pleased by the way barous arc ended; having him suddenly be willing to work w people wouldnt have felt right, but I wouldve gotten real sick of him if he never changed either, so him and isagi just fighting the whole time on the field was a cool way to resolve that!! new ways to combo and everything hehehe
bachira and isagis relationship is making me SOOO crazy u have no idea. they like each other so much and theyre so ready to throw hands at any moment but theyre literally making out while they play against or w each other ahhh. mentioned in the tags of my earlier post but I’m SO excited to see whether or not isagi actually picks bachira if/when he beats this 4v4; I feel like atm bachira hasnt really evolved explosively like everyone else yet so if that stays true and isagi ends up picking rin instead I’m gonna be SOO pumped to see how bachira responds to that!! I think thatd be a really cool growth arc for him and isagi both tbh. plus a nice parallel to nagi and reo since I think bachira would be less pissed and more motivated, might get the evolution that (it seems) reo isnt getting 👀 ofc I could just be wrong hahahaha
final mention I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ops and eds theyre so fun!! the songs are boppin hehehehe

This was originally just going to be what Sho has been/is planning, but it turned into a huge (like 11-paragraph) analysis of his actions in NEO as well as potential post-NEO verses, so uhhhhhhhh:
WHAT’S SHO BEEN UP TO? When Sho comes back after the events of TWEWY, he feels an even greater burden to set things right in Shibuya. During the Long Game, he believed that the Composer was the top dog in the UG, and that assuming that role would allow him to run things as he saw fit.
However, the Shibuya he returns to is different; the Composer is gone, as is Hanekoma. He does some digging (maybe even finds a few Secret Reports) and learns about the Higher Plane and their influence over every part of the UG, even the Composer. Suddenly, it’s not just one person he has to take down, but a cadre of literal Angels.
He lays low and stays in the 2-Year Game as a player, keeping above the threshold for erasure while staying solo and gathering more information about the Angels and the overall hierarchy of the Higher Plane, and also learns about Shiba’s gambit. After a while, the number of players starts to slow to a trickle, and the teams get harder and harder to keep up with. Sho puts together that the Game is searching for stronger and stronger players, and decides to align himself with the next group of players that wind up in the UG to prevent Shibuya’s erasure. That’s where Fret and Rindo (and later, Nagi) come in.
SO WHY DOES SHO TURN ON THE TWISTERS? Once Sho catches wind that Neku is back, he immediately ditches the Twisters to go looking for him, but finds nothing. He realizes that his time to act is running out; Shibuya is on its way to the same fate as Shinjuku, and the Replay pin is playing right into their plan. In a final act of desperation, he attacks the Twisters and tries to steal the pin to throw off whatever plan Shiba and the angels have, as well as to use the power of the pin to stop Shibuya’s destruction himself. We all know how well that goes.
As he recovers from this fight, he sees what the Twisters are capable of as a team, and for the first time in his stupid life, realizes that there’s strength in numbers (ironic). He aids in the battle for Shibuya (I could write a whole other text post about this, the fact that no individual person saves Shibuya but that the entire city both RG and UG contributes is beautiful and I cried) and his current plan for taking on the Higher Plane begins to form.
OKAY ZANDER WHAT’S THE PLAN ALREADY Sho is making sure that everyone in a high-ranking position in the UG is someone who cares deeply about Shibuya and its people. This includes the Conductor, the Game Master, the Composer, and the Producer. He believes (and will try to convince these positions) that the Higher Plane has turned its back on Shibuya and will try to destroy it again before long.
The solution, according to Sho, is to break all ties with the Higher Plane and fail to comply with their rules. A new game begins, with only one goal: defend Shibuya at all costs. Fail, and face purification. All new arrivals to the UG are recruited to fight for the city they love and live in; much like the Reaper’s Game, those with exceptional Imagination and devotion to Shibuya are given Reaper status and abilities.
Now, the one thing Sho has been unable to learn at this point is exactly how strong the Higher Plane actually is, which is why he’s recruiting everyone he can to defend Shibuya once they go AWOL. The way he sees it, the worst case scenario is they “purify” Shibuya, which he believes they are going to try to do anyways. His hope is that an army of Players, Reapers, and a few fallen Angels will be more trouble than they’re worth, and the Higher Plane will eventually come to an armistice with the newly liberated city.
FUTURE PLOT STUFF The way I personally see this going down plays out in a few different ways, each of which could probably be their own verse to play in. One is that Sho’s plan goes exactly as he expects, and the Reaper’s Game becomes one of defending Shibuya from the Higher Plane. Reapers lead teams of Players, research weapons/methods of defeating the Angels, and refine Noise for various battle purposes. Sho would remain a Reaper, becoming a decent tactician and always leading from the front.
Another is that Sho cannot convince the Composer to choose Shibuya over their duties to the Higher Plane, and he once again has to fight for the role to enact his plan. This is, admittedly, an incredibly selfish timeline, because what Sho RPer doesn’t want to do a Composer Sho verse where he realizes what a bummer the position actually is. In this timeline, I don’t think the city has a chance of succeeding, due to Sho’s insecurities and other negative traits trickling down into Shibuya’s inhabitants.
There is a third option, which is that everyone calls Sho out on how crazy his plan is and tells him to kick rocks. He decides that if he must, he will take on the Higher Plane himself, because damn my boy is stupid. He obviously fails, but hmmmmm say the Angels, what a shame it would be to waste such zeal and power, what if he just had a more righteous direction? You’re probably ahead of me already so I’ll just say it: Executor Sho. If you can’t beat em, join em, and if Shibuya’s going to fall, let it be the first domino of many, and let that be its legacy. Darkest timeline, I’d probably hate writing for it, but it’s there as a possibility.

A Break: IDOLiSH7 Third BEAT! Ep 10 Review
I can’t say that I have wasted a single second not fangirling them...
[Contains detailed spoilers of the episode below. If you don’t want to get spoiled, please refrain from going under the cut. Otherwise, dive right in, and make sure to watch the episode whenever you get the time!]
Also, please enjoy the spam of content I am going to provide and my blabberings.
Check the masterlist- here
Tumblr media
(The fun has started!)
This episode washed all the week’s fatigue away.
IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, and Re:vale get to do a special programme on the occasion of Friends Day. Well, each group thinks it’s a good chance, but at the same time, some worry about their decline in popularity since 2 other opposing groups are going to be there.
What Iori reasoned out for his thinking was justified. They were the most recent group that had risen to popularity, so it was expected for him to think that their popularity could waver, if they did a variety show with their rivals. The same thinking can be seen in the President of Yaotome Productions too.
Tumblr media
(He has such a mature personality... One can’t help but admire him...)
We got to hear a little bit of Tsumugi’s voice! I know, she is not a main character anymore, but at least mere sentences from her are worthwhile to hear.
Tumblr media
(Umm, can the guys and Tsumugi be provided with some new clothes? I have been seeing this since S1, haha ^^;)
Just as the meeting of the show ends, the camera starts rolling. And from here only, I can’t express how every scene made me laugh like crazy. I mean, they are hilarious!
I will just provide a gist here. They go to Atami for their show, and are given the challenge of writing a song within 24 hours. Although they are shocked, gradual banters are chatters help them to handle this task too.
And we know, when situation like this shows up, what older guys are going to do.
Tumblr media
(That was scheduled for the wrap up, but oh well.)
Regarding the ratio I talked about in the previous review, it’s the number of members sitting with their legs folded and those who aren’t! Well, their persona reflects through this one picture.
Poor Iori, these guys seem to not hear his instructions and discuss whatever they want.
I pitied the managers so much. Protecting their stars at each scene, haha. It’s well said that alcohol can bring out the truth. Not some moments after, and these guys started to talk about dicey subjects, totally tossing out the main task in hand. This only stops after the show gives instruction.
Ahem. Tenn was the star of this episode, in my opinion.
Tumblr media
(My heart... >///<)
Tumblr media
(Look at the two in the background knowing his double sided face, heh. And then there’s Riku.)
Jokes apart, what I said is actually true. We can see his improvement in personality when he has a conversation with Riku. It was not rash, but was formal, which is a good sign of the repairing of their tangled relationship.
The younger guys playing statue was soo cute!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ヾ(≧ ▽ ≦)ゝ)
RIKU. BOY. He can SEE GHOSTS. I literally squealed when he calmly mentioned how the ghost that the ‘shopping’ group brought home wants to play with them. And darn, the other two members of ‘courage test’ group didn’t even falter.
Oh. Let me tell you the splitting of groups.
Cooking group- Nagi, Tamaki and Momo.
Washing group- Gaku and Iori.
Courage test group- Riku, Ryu and Sogo.
BGM group- Tenn (he was given to take requests, pftt...)
Shopping group- Mitsuki, Yuki and Yamato.
Since only Riku could see the ghost, he conveyed her each message to them. And this was true that he was not hallucinating. Because when he said that the ghost is going to bathroom to practice scaring the members with them, the result is the proof-
Tumblr media
(Aw.)
Tamaki... The extent to which he was scared when the term ‘ghost’ popped up, and using Tenn to hide, was adorable.
Tumblr media
(How is one supposed to stop screaming when these scenes are shown??!! >.<)
The Tamaki-Tenn dynamics here made me to replay the scenes again and again, and yet again.
Tumblr media
(Darn, he is super kind...)
But again, Tenn, he also didn’t get scared. These two brothers surely are something, huh.
The courage test. OH GOD. It was the best part of the whole episode. Ahaha, whether it’s Mitsuki being a ghost, or Yuki, or Sogo... I was SCARED so much!!
You have been warned. The photos below may cause your heart to skip a beat, OR SCARE YOU THE MOST.
.
.
.
.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Nice one, Mitsuki.)
Tumblr media
(A-argh!!!!)
Tumblr media
(So-sogo?!)
Tumblr media
(Why is he hanging upside down, ahhh!!! Tamaki, I have the exact reaction as you.)
Haha, anyways, Tenn even suggests Riku to ask the ghost to return to her own world, and even sings ‘Dis One’ by Zero for her, as she was a Zero fan.
Tumblr media
(That smile is everything.)
What Riku says at last makes sense. Even though they ended up filming for a same show, they are still different and have their own goals to achieve.
Yeah, so that wraps up the review. I think this is the best episode of the whole season till now, as we saw the guys enjoying, without any tension. But you all know what this means.
We are all going to get some serious matters in the next episode. So buckle up! Apparently, this was also hinted in this episode as Momo found out how some staff from Tsukumo have stepped down from the show. Which means the only person he is sure of has started pulling the strings.
I hope not any guy gets hurt now...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See you next week~
