On the topic of disability, there's so many times it gets mentioned outside of Harry and Kim too. Evrart and his diabetes caused by poor nutrition in his childhood and his eyesight also caused by inaccessibility of treatment (iirc). Lena and the way she can't do field work with her husband because Martinaise is super inaccessible for her wheelchair. Rene and his PTSD. I'm sure there's other examples too that I can't think of rn. But a major theme of the game is how disability and poverty intersect, how capitalism frequently causes and then punishes disability.

Was your inspiration when creating Haruko Ren Sangonomiya Kokomi? Since they’re my two faves I just thought they looked quite alike

✦゜ANSWERED: Ren was originally based off of my old UTAU/Vocaloid OC, so there are no real visual inspirations for his design!! ^^ I just like creating pink/white-haired scrunklies who are perhaps a bit unhinged lmao

Also this isn't directed at you by any means, but just so others are aware: I'm not really comfortable with people comparing Ren to other characters (it diminishes all the effort I put into making his design and personality unique, and oftentimes leads to people mischaracterising him (i.e. if he looks like Kokomi then he must act like Kokomi as well)). It's not fun being put in another character's box when I wasn't intending to be there in the first place ;v; /nm /lh

Cheery, always smiling, and sometimes overly enthusiastic about their work, the Nurse is an apprentice to the Medic, and is proud to proclaim that they've learned all they know about the practice of medicine from their mentor - a statement that should terrify anyone who ends up on their operating table. Although their disregard for human life is nowhere near as flagrant as the Medic, their ideas of "improving human life" is more akin to finding a way to give people super-powers through painful experiments than actually performing any type of healing.

Recently the Nurse has found himself infatuated with the Spy, after a fervent, impassioned operation removing a bullet from his kidney. After all, nothing could be more intimate than digging through a man's inner workings with your bare hands, so ever since that day the Nurse has been dedicated to convincing the Spy to be his one and only guinea pig scientific partner. Of course, the Spy isn't anywhere near stupid enough to agree to that arrangement, but a few of the Nurse's experiments have ended up being genuinely useful, plus he feels like a small debt is owed to the Nurse for all the med bay visits, not to mention he's always a ray of sunshine to see... Maybe a few experimental procedures is worth it.
