Is anyone else terrified that Ruby is going to fall through the world and become a new person???

what about that mysterious girl? she look like penny and look like she could be pietro dughter maybe this is how penny is really? (after all her body was created by what peitro saw as a dughter not what she see as)

I don't think Penny's original body was really what Pietro saw as a daughter, she was still part of a research project funded by the military. It's not really stated how that influenced everything, but it almost certainly did. And then there's the possibility that Penny had a say in this herself too.

That being said, yeah the mysterious girl absolutely looks related to Penny! Her design is really very heavily reminiscent of Penny's. I even checked the eyecolour and it matches Pietro's very closely. So design-wise she looks like she could easily be Pietro's daughter, which in turn could be Penny.

In the intro she's also connected heavily to Ruby. The first shot of the new girl is over Ruby's "sadness increasing through the volumes" progression scene. There's also a moment where Ruby looks around, towards her, and then almost gets to see her face which is some classic "hugely important person" imagery. And then it also turns out that she washed up on the beach right next to crescent rose, a part of Ruby which she's lost.

So yeah we have someone who looks a lot like Penny, and who seems heavily connected to Ruby.

But she also seems to be Alyx. The fairytale book in the intro says "the girl who fell through the world" on the spine, and it has an image of the mysterious girl meeting the checkered cat in it. Alice in wonderland, revealed somewhere to be Alyx in the fairytales that Remnant knows.

Except... that's already happened. The story exists on Remnant, it must have happened a while ago, and this girl is here at least later than Ruby since that's the only way crescent rose could be here.

So we've got a girl who seems to be the girl who fell through the world except from our perspective that happened long ago. We've got a girl who looks strikingly similar to Penny. We've got a girl who seems to be very important to Ruby, connected to her and her sadness.

I think bringing back Penny will have to be a conscious choice, and one that involves quite a bit of effort. This girl then can't just be Penny, because then she'd rush to hug Ruby, and probably say something about how glad she is that they ended up in the same afterlife.

And yet, her connection to Ruby, and specifically Ruby's sadness, seems to point towards Penny.

There's something going on with this girl, and I don't think she's just Alyx, I also don't think she's just Penny. I do think there's a decent chance she's here because of something related to Penny, and that she's going to be vitally important to getting her back.
