i have an oc called rowan harlow - shes a commoner whose entire village and family was destroyed by dragon attacks. the royal who rules their kingdom has never done anything to help her village - her father once travelled to petition the court to station knights at their village to prevent dragonfire, but he was laughed at and told 'those with no destiny hold no importance with the court.' angry beyond belief at the ineffectual royals of ever after who are more concerned with upholding the decree of the storybook of legends than doing what they are supposed to do (protecting their people), rowan concocts a plan to infiltrate ever after high in the guise of a minor nursery rhyme character, garner intelligence about the weaknesses of the school and the royals so that she and her fellow insurgents may overthrow the royals and institute democracy. rowans father was an ironmonger - rowan leads the commoner insurgency with a sword that she herself forged with the strength lent to her by her fury at her fathers death.

i created rowan because i really like the royal vs commoner dynamic that was hinted at in the books and some of the webseries supplementary materials. ofc mattel being a giant corporation werent going to explore this dynamic in depth, but i find it fascinating that there is not one but TWO central conflicts in ever after highs world - royal vs rebel, and royal vs commoner.

apple white - pop princess. no creative control over lyrics or production. starts a fanwar between herself and ravens fanbases by accidentally saying she doesnt like ravens music in an interview with blondie

raven queen - alternative/indie singer like mitski. rabid online fanbase. getting tired of music industry in general - apple-raven fanwar may be the last straw

briar beauty - apples manager. is getting sick of managing apple and not making music herself - wants to make music again. used to be part of an idol group with apple, ashlynn and blondie - briar and ashlynn left, dissatisfied with the lack of control they had of their music and their image. blondie was devastated - she didnt have the money or popularity to continue a solo career on her own, whereas apple could.

faybelle thorn - known mononymously as faybelle, faybelle thorn is a rising pop act. she used to be a child star but was sick of her mother controlling her every move and broke away. this unfortunately also broke her career. faybelle is desperate to reclaim her fame. she is a hyperpop/pop act, and she is jealous of the amount of fans raven has online - she starts to build up completely onesided rivalry with her. approaches briar to ask her to manage her, but realises briar wants to be back in the spotlight and proposes a group.

maddie hatter - lyricist for lizzie and the worms. known as HATWORM. is approached by raven for some inspiration and they become fast friends - raven learns a lot from her.

lizzie hearts - lead singer and leader of lizzie and the worms. makes art, costumes and thumbnails for the worms.

bunny blanc - known as CLOCKWORM. quiet producer for lizzie and the worms.

kitty cheshire - known as CATWORM. makes the videos for lizzie and the worms.

alistair wonderland - lizzie and the worms groupie. CLOCKWORMs biggest fan.

courtly jester - hacks ppls twitters bc she loves hoarding those blue checkmarks. she has a fandom of her own bc shes so crazy when she hacks into their accounts. she also releases breakcore music on soundcloud which is pretty popular. she releases it under the name the joker card

idk i think i want to gush about princess principal for a bit like

i havent been feeling like watching anime or much of anything at all? like the drive isnt there at all (thanks hxh) and even when i do watch, im not invested in whats happening at all? but then the first ep, no, probably by mid-episode i was hooked? like, i actually want to marathon it omg

i like the clothes a lot. the visuals and character designs. some people say theyre too moe / cute for the tone of the story -- them being spies and the ending of ep1 is edgy and stuff? but i thought it was a really great exploration of ange’s character and everything? and its really impactful for a first ep which is really great??

the use of non-chronological episode order also really helps in engaging interest. ep1 was a great setup of the general setting and who our main characters are & their personalities too, and what they usually do. and then there are questions as to how things end up this way, and why are spies students in a school and all that, which makes us wonder and i thought they will explain stuff through flashbacks but no, they mess up the episode order and ep2 is the true ep1 chronologically and i just feel like it’s such a great treat bc there lies the start of it all as well as a freaking twist that, imo is really well-executed like holy shit. they didnt slam the fact into our face or play it up or like i guess, spoonfeed it to us but it felt so natural and the story and dialogue really flows imo? 

i just really really like the directing a lot. that juxtaposition of ange in disguise in ep2 and then a very mysterious conversation between charlotte and beatrice which made me go like ???? bc what and how? there’s nothing that gave away that ange is a ‘demon’. which they offer an explanation by the end of the ep but just i really like it bc they make you think.

the subsequent episodes basically gives us insight to their characters, and they also have an interesting thing where they only explain the phenomenon after some episodes like the ‘c-ball’, where we see what it does, and understand that it has a limit but they dont shove it in our faces likE ‘show, don’t tell’ done wonderfully? there are other things they showed but didnt tell like ange’s signaling as communication that i just really really love like HOLY SHIT

and they also put in parallels that you didnt notice the first round bc it’s a piece of information that they didnt tell you until like ep8. i cried when i recognised the conversation in the flashback in ep8. the conversation in the flashback is a mirror image of the one in ep2, at the time before charlotte even knew who ange is. in ep2, theres a strange weight on the same conversation but given ange’s task, i simply attributed it to one of her ploys to get closer to charlotte but it feels so good knowing theres actually meaning behind the weird conversation.

most of the episodes i think are pretty standalone in the sense that theyre unrelated to each other, especially ep1. it doesnt have the same weight / importance if it’s not ep1 -- ie the introductory episode. but through the use of messing up the episode order, it makes us more interested in piecing the world in the story and the characters together too. of course other shows do try to develop / explore the characters too, but non-chronological meant that they can give us literally like a single meaningful line, pique our curiosity and then develop it later. as is dorothy and chise’s conversation about being honest for once. (and now im crying again bc in dorothy’s ep, look who didnt mind when beato actually asked if its alright for her to be seeing this. and they still remained friends in the end im just aaaaaaaaaaa)

i might also be highly biased bc kajiura, but i really love the sound and music for this? ive literally been waiting for kajiura to make tracks like these again and she did and hearing those western instruments and even the trumpet in some parts was just <3 her overpowering vocal tracks isnt used in this but im so glad they werent bc 1. im sick of them 2. they dont fit 3. theyre starting to sound the same. sorry kajiura-- but i really love princess principal’s ost. reminded me of cosette and even a few tracks in trc like 1 & 0 city lmao

honestly im worried bc like what if the show ends up going downhill bc now plot is happening and idk how theyll handle it. ep11 was a shocker and im in pain bc im worried for both ange and charlotte, and like!! charlotte doesnt have the actual spy training and WHAT ABOUT THE C-BALL, WHAT IF THEY FIND OUT AND IM JUST AAAAAA. the conclusion is really important to me, and they can make or break the show for me, but from what i see so far, i dont think they’ll disappoint me.

So um im on a batman craze since the new movie so I thought id share the plot to a fanfic im going to try to write or even maybe turn into a comic (MAYBE). I see this in my brain like the batman video games and god I wish I had the ability to do something like that just for a game based off a fanfic of mine 😭. This also includes riddlebat and batcat so um 🙃

Its highly based off the arkham asylum and arkham city games. The story starts a few months after the disaster and evacuation of the city. Whoever stayed, stayed willingly or weren't lucky enough to escape. Arkham asylum has been broken out of and many high end villians have been released into the streets. These villians soon begin their own hierarchy assigning territories and establishing a following. Joker has Riddler on his side for awhile as well as Harley. As the joker empire builds with them Riddler gains another alternative version of his villain persona, one for when he's just trying to be showy (like the iconic riddlers), with help from the Joker who was the one to suggest it with their new access to almost anything they wanted. Bruce knows that Edward is probably one of the only people that he can actually get to listen to him and bargain with him. He needs as much information ad he can about these villians to restore Gotham. He has almost no chance trying to get help from ones like the Penguin, Joker or Mr. Freeze, so he tries to keep Edward close. Once he gets Edward out of the grips of Joker he keeps tabs on him and mainly tries to get him to stay around the wayne manor to protect him. (Bruce doesnt worry as much with Selina as she is a more capable fighter and wouldnt take the help anyway). He gets outside help from a therapist, that evacuated after the flood, to diagnose Edward and try to get him on a regiment to keep him from doing anymore harm to the city. He gets a generalized prescription for him and gives it to him without telling him what its really for. Bruce, Edward, Selina and the gotham city PD all work together haphazardly to help pull Gotham out of the state of despair its in and rebuild the city.

I want to make this a longer read with lots of time to explore characters and their relationships. Plus some lore from the comics and games as well sprinkled in. Lemme know what you guys think of the brief plot summary 🙃 ttyl!

my only text post here and its about morrigan and lilith being gay

oh im so glad u asked. after 300 hrs in persona 5 i have THOUGHTS. so i think p much every character in p5 has a p good introduction nd base but the nuance of their motivations nd growth go out of the window ESPECIALLY for ann nd ryuji. under the cut ofc bc im a long winded bitch 😔

i would rewrite everything abt ann post kamoshida tbh bc the whole thing abt the first arc was abt women nd kids being treated like objects just to treat her like an object the whole time? hell no. for one her pt outfit would NOT be that. i love a catsuit but the boob window was evil. nd ALSO i would have the male character NOT remark on her body as they get closer actually i would rewrite ryuji to not be flirty towards ann at all bc there's a moment where u find out they went to the same junior high nd knew each other nd i would rather have a kinda reunited sibling vibe bc ann’s whole thing is abt not feeling safe so for her friends to look down her shirt as a joke is.............no.

also her confidant would have to be kinda rewritten. again i think its weird for ann to lament abt her looks making her a target then her goal is to be a model....? nd she has no real drive for it? atlus basically just like to make lovers arcana girls famous PERSONALLY i would make ann’s route abt finding out what she actually wants to do bc she has no passion the way shiho had for volleyball nd finding out who she is beyond her looks nd beyond being shiho’s friend. like ann has no hobbies mentioned in game other than eating sweets nd not doing her homework but it always circle back to her weight 😐

nd bc of the above i would tweak yusukes introduction to be him either wanting to draw the protag bc atlus was so close to like........a good narrative on how artists should love the human body regardless of gender nd spare ann being treated as a walking pair of tits or just him wanting to draw her with her clothes ON nd it being a moment abt capturing inner nd outer beauty rather than tits

who else.........oh ryuji. im tired of atlus turning characters w unexplored trauma into comic relief. they do it to kanji too to the point where its homophobia nd its like.........why? nd there are so many moments where ryuji lashes out then APOLOGIZES bc he recognizes the behavior is bad nd its prime time to explore his relationship w his father. or even explore the relationship w the staff? like every teacher believed lies abt him AND the protag so eye think it wouldve been beneficial to get moments where the public opinion of both u nd ryuji changes for the better once kamoshida is exposed. 

nd honestly that dumbass part of the game where morgana leaves the party couldve been ryuji. i think it wouldve been justified to have him blowing up after the nth time he was treated as a joke or throwaway despite having as much emotional baggage as the rest of them. like ryuji is the first one to stand up to men who bother the girls nd they rag on him for nooooooo reason i think calling everyone out on being so callous nd treating him like comic relief wouldve been better nd it still couldve segued into getting haru bc after he stormed out he couldve seen haru w her shit stain of a fiance nd then jumped in to save her from him..........like i see the vision

akechi............................................................my biggest gripe w the game. akechi is such a weak villain until the very end nd ik atlus wanted to recreate the iconic narrative foil between the p4 protag nd adachi but it doesnt work 😭😭😭 for one akechi is bland nd has no real personality besides being sneaky but WE AS THE AUDIENCE DON’T EVEN GET THAT. actually no first of all making akechi a detective was so fucking stupid like again....they just wanted to recreate naoto from persona 4 but worse. 

i would double down on making akechi joker’s other half. have him be another normal student that stumbled upon powers nd double down on him being fake!!!!!! have him help the party one minute just to actively put them in harms way there was no real rivalry btwn u nd akechi which is why facing him in the end fell flat other than the great voice acting nd twist of him having multiple personas but like......we need more hints! imagine akechi hinting that he sees the velvet room? 

also his route being automatic 🤮 ik p5 was bogged down w links but in my p5 akechi is a night slink thats kinda offputting? like u don’t get closer to him per se but u do see more sides of him nd he can even give u a fake request nd when u go into the metaverse he’s there nd its even weirder. wasted potential with that one

Sure, its got flaws, but there is not a single flawless game out there. The characters feel natural, the writing is fun and serious and awkward (what 22 year old isnt awkward at flirting, honestly???). It’s all about a fresh start in a cluster in a brand new, unexplored galaxy. About a bunch of aliens - who never really saw themselves as aliens - trying to find a new home, only to find everything in the past 600+ years have gone to fucking hell and there are viruallt no worlds to settle on and they need to be fixed and it will take time. Then there are the hostile aliens who seek to transform everyone to be the very same, the robots who already are so old they’re call “remnants”, and then the only kind aliens who arent out to kill the ones from the Milky Way (other than the roekaar who understandably want to protect their own bc they are few and were betrayed by their first alien encounter). Three out of four arks are lost when the humans arrive. 14 months before that the Nexus arrived and saw the future they bet everything on is already wrecked and looks bleak and hopeless. The uprising is inevitable. And then hope arrives. In the form of a 22-year old with little to no military training. No Pathfinder training, because that was their dad’s job. Suddenly this youth is tasked with finding homes for tens of thousands of people. In a hostile cluster where plantes are wrecked and 2/3 of the inhabitants are out to kill them. One planet after the next is ruined. But they keep going because they all chanced everything on this. There is no return. The outcasts cant just trust them after what they themselves went through. The Nexus leaders doesnt trust Ryder fully either, tries to stonewall them. “We need you but we don’t believe you can do this”. Tasked with finding homes on several planets. Tasked with finding - and hopefully rescuing - the missing arks. With no training. Just 22 years old.

Do people honestly think all the complaints, all the so-called “issues” people have with this game would be magically solved if you swapped Ryder+Tempest+crew for Shepard? For the Normandy SR-2 and Joker and the crew that survived and wanted to stay with Shepard?

Because Andromeda would never happen with Shepard. Shepard would never leave the Milky Way; they fought until the very end to ensure as many as possible would live, to end the cycle of annihilation. Andromeda happened because SOMEONE BELIEVED SHEPARD. Because someone took a chance that should Shepard fail, should everyone in the Milky Way die, someone, in a different galaxy, would still live.

People can’t accept Shepard’s era is done. They miss the charismatic, badass, no fears, completely in control, solider who is (roughly?) 15 years Ryder’s senior.

Andromeda is all about a fresh new start.

It was about time we got to explore completely uncharted (for the Milky Way species) territory. To uncover new worlds, new aliens, an entire new galaxy filled with wonders and mysteries. With worlds that haven’t been wrecked by Reapers, or humans or batarians or krogans fighting turians. To have a place where krogan and turians can co-exist and overcome old grudges (it’s been so long now). Where Quarians can find a new homeworld and free themselves of the masks and filters.
