thinking aloud here on the off chance that simon died and ascended to the dead world he would get to choose what version of himself to present as. would he choose ice king? at this point in f&c I'm thinking probably, but he's after ice king's mental state, not so much his appearance. and based on what we saw in distant lands especially, you aren't going to mentally regress to that time in your life. so imagine simon dying, learning that he can be the ice king again, then facing that the change is only external

I've decided to do the thing where I put a poll up of my wips and write however many sentences that wip gets. BUT! These wips aren't even published yet. I like to put something up then come back to it later so I can at least take the pressure off myself. Because the pressure of getting a first chapter out makes it difficult to write.
Jult - Inspired by a conversation me and my sister had in a shoe store. We were wondering if Best Jeanist ever put a J at the front of words (ex: Jhe Jaghetti jas jood) and if he owned jean themed items like a Jable and Jhair. Then I learned there was a jult around him and thought "hey, what if he had a Jult in canon universe?" which is what happened. Although, this one is a one-shot.
Snippet: The parents would leave the hospital as confident and reassured as new parents could be, doing their best to make sure their child grew up happy and healthy. His blond hair grew out and took on a shine along with his oddly long lashes, and his green eyes always sparkling, much like his mother’s. Yet, despite his healthy look and appetite, there was something worrying about him.
He only liked denim.
Shigaraki - Frankenstein AU! Where AFO brings Yoichi back to life, Frankenstein style. And what luck, Yoichi appears to have lost his memories, leaving him with the opportunity to create the perfect little brother. When Second and Third find out, they try and get his memories back. But there's something that all four of them don't know. That's. Not. Yoichi.
Snippet: It was not a dark day when Yoichi died. It was sunny and there was not a cloud in the sky, though they couldn’t tell as they ran through the sewers like frightened rats. Hearts pounding in their ears, terror palpable in the air.
Ice King AU - The AU where everyone was born earlier into the Age of the Dawn of Quirks. Second and Third are brainwashed and work for AFO while Yoichi has become unrecognizable to everyone ever since putting on the quirked crown that gave him the ice powers. Meanwhile, Izuku and Katsuki are unaware of his tragic backstory and beat him up everytime he kidnaps a hero.
Snippet: At twelve years old, Izuku Midoriya should have been in middle school cutting open a dead frog. Instead, he was battling against a very large, very alive frog with acid spit.
Pokemon AU - Instead of quirks, they get pokemon. Izuku is still bullied for having an eevee that can't evolve. AFO and Garaki do all sorts of unethical experiments on pokemon. And it's really annoying how I can't type an accented "e" on my computer for some reason.
Snippet: Izuku Midoriya was 9 years old when he learned that not all Pokémon were treated equally.
Death Tree - Are you in the market for a fic with lesbian duoholders? Another Victorian era AU, but this time Yoichi and Second are both girls. I thought about how easily AFO's possessiveness over Yoichi would translate over to the attitudes toward women. He'd still have to disguise how deep it goes, but even if he slips up every once in a while, no one would suspect anything. The actual plot is Yone falls in love with the daughter of the stable manager, and they eventually start a secret relationship. She also makes some friends in the small town that she lives near and is pretty happy. Then her friends start dying. Looks like they're going to regret not paying more attention to AFOs behavior.
Snippet: Yone was thirteen years old the first time she met the girl. Her wild hair was a flame in the summer sun, freckles scattered across her cheeks in a way that was reminiscent of the stars in the sky and calculating ruby eyes. She couldn’t help her staring, not used to seeing someone display such blemishes so freely.

My Fionna and Cake episode 7&8 tangent
Lets start it off with the score. 20/20 it was fantastic. my stupid theory post will happen eventually, and I will ABSOLUTELY TALK ABOUT PETRIGROF
The star - Cake thinking Fionna was upset cause her fling died was silly, Fionna was clearly upset before about the candy people. The fight with the vampires was funny but intense, I love how Cake and Fionna care a lot about eachother. Also why does Simon know what holy water taste like. Pb and "Star" was so cute, and I was so right when I talked about us getting more Bubbline on tiktok (Tiktok account is not linked anywhere btw) The vampire world is super sad though, cause they had really been eating for so long, that a potential thousands of people died. Marshall and Gary really lit up the episode from the sadness once again, Gary's tangents of his candy kingdom are so cute. AND HIS HAMBO THINGY IN HIS CAR. Marten and baby Finn are so cute, I wanna legit cry cause HES MEANT TO BE A GOOD DAD BUT HES SO STUPID IN THE OG UNIVERSE. Also imma say this now, Prismo gets in trouble for breaking the rules once and ignoring a few beeps, BUT Scarab ignores several beeps and his entire job and doesn't get in trouble, that boss better have a good reason. Second date (potentially) and Marshall already introducing his boyfriend to his mom, damn. Marshall's mom matches og Hunson perfectly somehow, duche parent club. And Marshall's little blush of embarrassment from his mom acting all weird infront of Gary. Billy's corpse is messed up, like reall messed up, and the reminder of how tall he is is also crazy. I was also wondering the entire time if Pb was human in this universe until she bit off half her arm basically. The Star's outfit is so good, but I wonder how she turned into a vampire now, maybe she was bit in front of that worlds Simon's body and thats why she screamed at something. Already long section so I'll end it here with, I LOVED THIS ENTIRE EPISODE, Huntress dying was sad though, and Gary Marshall kiss was adorable. Closing thought of this episode, Bubbline but toxic yuri. Jerry - Simon and Betty better get a happy ending or I will legit be so sad, they love each other so much, and Betty just legit became part of a god over her Fiance once celebrity crush. I love how gorgeous everything is in this show, Orbo is also a funny character. I feel like someone could narrow down where things and places they go in this Lich's wish universe it'd seem fun at first then spiral though. Simon does NOT know how to draw though get this man an art class. The tree house being naked though, all its leaves gone. Lich's wish to kill all life, really just unironically killed ALL life, down to plants. Fun little references to old episodes, and including one that revolved around Ice king, hmm. Also I wonder the age gap between Betty and Simon, I like to see it as they're like a year apart but Simon just skipped grades cause hes a smart cookie. Also Simon had slides ready for people to be loud, HE WAS READY. Nerd girls in love. I am also guessing Bmo has been alone for awhile now, at least since season 5ish times since thats when the Lich would have made this wish. All the references in Ice King's junk from the melted ice kingdom. Ninja guide books, kunai, vhs tapes and the camera, the pink diary, his bed has the wishing amulet that Gunter used to break bottles. I was RIGHT
Tumblr media
Fionna see's how unhealthy Ice King was, and changes her mind and wants him to not become this sad sad man again. Simon would genuinely be such a sweet and wonderful parent, he loved taking care of the babies in the baby universe, and he sees Fionna get happy when he tells his story with Betty and keeps doing it to keep her happy. Neddy is also guaranteed dead, already obvious but the candy kingdom doesn't have the juices being produced. Bmo has done a lot in his isolation, a lot of stuff is changed or moved, I feel so bad for bmo. But the lines "Help me zip up my bra" and "Ooo, butt stuff" Wow. The Simon and Betty stuff makes me so happy, they're so cute and I love them, they need to have a happy ending or I will be so sad. The lesbians ever, I love these lesbians, let the lesbians be happy. Simon struggling to say he loves her is so CUTE. Poor Bmo, I feel so bad, but he was probably so sad being alone, sad in someway. Petrigrof moment was so cute and adorable please, I want them so happy, they deserve to be happy. Now for the bombshell, Jerry. The Lich's wish monkey paw aspect is that he gets depressed and has nothing to do now that all life is gone. Billy's body decomposing as the Lich parasites it. SO, imma theory my reason for the portal finally opening to GolBetty, either it was because the Lich was used as the battle and influenced it in a way to allow it to finally work, OR Betty's wish to keep Simon safe truly included the crown being worn. Like the crown really did trigger GolBetty like "BITCH, NO" or the third that makes probably the most sense, The Scarab was literally about to kill Simon and go against what Betty wants, meaning she is going to interfere. I saw someone say that GolBetty likely wont remember Simon and this could cause something. BUT I REALLY HOPE THEY DONT DO THAT, I WANT THEM HAPPY SO BADLY

Worthy (2015) | Chapter 25, "Gems of Power"
Disappearing sporadically in public spaces quickly becomes Cora Dempsey's least concerning problem when suddenly she captures the attention of the forming Avengers Initiative, the World Security Council, and Asgard's fallen prince all in one week. And the universe is only just getting started with her.
Worthy is a slow-burn SFW Marvelverse (films) romance between Loki and a female OC. For additional details on what canon is used, see the Prologue post.

Pairing: Loki x Fem!OC
Warnings: None
Word Count: 2.6k
Tumblr media
When the power was pulled from the throne room, Cora could only liken it to being inside a vacuum hose as it finally turned off. The agony of the past few moments had left her weak and shaking, and Loki's reserved demeanor did nothing to soothe her. "What the hell happened?" she murmured, trying to push herself up even as her limbs felt like jelly.
Loki took his eyes off the high arch of the doorway and frowned grimly, his seithr replicating Odin again just as the guards burst in to make sure their king was all right. It threw her off how complete the illusion was and how good Loki was at playing the part of his adoptive father. Even his grumbling at the guards who were attempting to fuss over him was accurate.
He shooed them away to go help the others—who had apparently also been plagued by Thanos' mind-numbingly fierce infliction—before helping Cora to her feet. His eyes caught on a black mark at the inside of her finger and he turned her hand, studying the tattoo he was almost fully certain hadn't been there when they'd first met. Loki's brow furrowed faintly at it and Cora noticed immediately, having been about to ask again what was going on. "When did you get this?" he asked quietly.
"Before I got put in the capsule," Cora replied, bending her finger to better view the inch-long tattoo. "I saw it in the dream I had the night before." She frowned faintly, remembering that her parents had been in that dream. "What does it mean?"
There was an instant of hesitation before Loki said, "Ice," and then nodded for her to follow him, still wearing the facade of Odin's form.
"That's ironic," Cora murmured, walking at his side. "But it makes sense."
It also means Frost Giant, he added silently, wondering if she knew. If Frigga had mentioned it at some point in their talks. What exactly had they talked about? Suddenly Loki was insatiably curious, but he would have to ask later. There were more important things to worry about now. He was still pale from the news beneath the seithr.
"But if you're here, where's…," Cora began and she stopped, looking horrified for a moment before Loki glanced at her and rolled his eyes.
"I did not kill him," Loki grumbled. "Though he deserves nothing less."
"Then why didn't you?" Cora asked as she glanced over at him. "Because of Thor, right?" Loki shot her a glare and she held down a smirk. "I'm not teasing you, I'm just stating facts. At least, what I hope are facts…" She frowned slowly and finally asked, "What…happened out there? In the Dark World?"
The disguised prince's expression smoothed and he looked thoughtful as he began to climb up the spiral staircase leading to the library. "I nearly died."
"I know, Thor told me, but… Why?"
A slight smile that entailed an amount of irony curved his lips as he let the illusion drop, knowing no one would be up here after all the chaos. "Sentiment."
She squinted her eyes a bit at him and when he noticed, he arched a brow. "What?"
"You're taller than me again."
"…Yes?"
"I like it, but I don't." Loki laughed softly and teasingly messed up her hair before they walked into the library. Despite the very much impending peril, he was half-giddy to be in her airspace, much more to be able to just reach out and touch her again. He still harbored some of her warmth on his chest and within his arms from embracing her.
As she attempted to smooth it back into place, she asked, "Who is Thanatos? And the Ragnarök… I thought that was just a myth."
"His name is Thanos and, to your kind up until a short while past, we were all 'myths'," he pointed out calmly. Loki went to one of the tomes on a nearby golden desk, checking the cover before flipping it open and starting to turn the pages. "He is the epitome of madness. Thanos and the Other were the ones truly behind the Chitauri attack on your city, I just had a hand in leading the army."
"They were the ones who…?" she started, not needing to finish because they both knew what she meant.
Memories of the torture flashed through his mind. More vividly now that the familiar agony had refreshed their traces. "Yes." He was honestly surprised Cora had bounced back so well after the mental onslaught. Maybe her own pain had been less or, like so many other things, she was simply exempt from the usual rules. His, included. "The Ragnarök was not supposed to happen for another few millennia. We were going to prepare here, but it seems Thanos plans to act as a catalyst and bring the Fall early."
"Did he just come here to flex his muscles or was there some other reason? Why not just go through with things underhandedly, so by the time anyone knew, it was too late?" Cora looked over at Loki when he didn't answer her right away and saw the odd look on his face as he watched her. "What? I'm just asking."
"I'm going to have to keep an eye on you," he murmured teasingly before saying, "He would have been smarter to do so, but that is not his way. He glories in boasting and being recognized. Thanos is the universe's biggest romanticist of death and he positively relishes in it." Loki grimaced, remembering the uprooted vault. "He also needed the Tesseract. The relic that was used before to fuel the Chitauri scepter I had while the creatures laid waste to New York."
"Why would he need the Tesseract again? It didn't work the first time, right? What makes him think it'll work now?"
"Because I do not think he is intending to use it on its own," Loki murmured, his fingers stilling against the pages of the book. "Look here." Cora looked down, her eyes widening at the apocalyptic scene moving around on the page opposite one filled with runic scripture. "This is the interpretation we have of the Ragnarök. It is a destruction of all the nine realms, not solely Asgard."
"No one is safe," Cora murmured softly, finding it hard to think straight with this new information weighing her down. There was a small stretch of silence before she looked up at him and immediately went into her usual businesslike mode of problem-solving whenever there was a crisis. "How do we stop it? You said he wasn't using the Tesseract alone, what else does he need?"
Loki looked at her like she was mad. "Cora, it is prophesied, there is no—"
"Bullshit," she said firmly, turning to face him fully. "You said the Ragnarök wasn't supposed to happen for a few more millennia, right? If that bastard can change the course of supposed destiny, so can I and so can you, dammit. Now what else does he need?"
Loki blinked at her, always surprised by her fire, but flipped back a few pages to an ornate diagram of six differently colored symbols linked by black lines with a golden hand at the center. "The Tesseract is an infinity stone. There are six in total—mind, power, time, space, soul, and reality—and then the gauntlet that binds them all. If he achieves such power, he will be unstoppable."
"Then we have to get the ones he still needs, right?"
"You act like this is all so simple. You have seen just a small sliver of Thanos's power. He drowns in his own insanity and is reckless and merciless at that, you haven't the slightest idea what we are up against."
"We'll just need some help if that's the case," she said simply.
"And who do you suspect would help…" But the look on her face said it all. "No."
It took an extensive discussion and multiple attempts to keep both Sif and Volstagg—mostly Sif—from pummeling their fists into Loki's face, but Cora eventually got the entire explanation out. As always, the Warriors Three were perfectly willing to fight, now that they knew what they were up against.
"The Aether is, as far as we know, still with the Collector, where we left it," Volstagg pointed out. "Sif and I dealt with him last time. We will again, to start… Then we will attempt to track down the Ka Stone, which is said to be in the next realm over, in Alfheim. They've kept it safeguarded for the near-whole of its existence."
"The Tesseract is gone… We have been narrowed down to five stones to get and we are running out of time," Fandral sighed. "I can see if that odd doctor in Midgard who has been holding onto the space stone would be willing to part with it. Inside the Orb of Agamotto."
"What about the soul stone?" Cora asked, wondering why that one hadn't been brought up.
Loki shook his head beside her. "No one has seen it in millennia. It is likely the least of our worries because of that. I believe if Thanos already had it, he would be advertising it to all the Nine." Sif begrudgingly nodded in agreement with her comrades. "However, the Cask of Ancient Winters lies underground in Jotunheim now. The time gem lies inside it."
"You may be the best to retrieve that one, Loki," Fandral admitted with no malice, just simple truth. Loki gave a short nod and then kept his silence.
"Then it's settled," Cora said quietly, running a hand through her hair and causing her belongings to jingle a bit on her arm. She'd gotten her things from the room since they would be leaving and who knew what she'd need and if she'd be coming back here afterward. "First though, we're going to Midgard."
"For?" Sif asked curiously.
"Thor and the other Avengers," Cora explained. "They'll need to know and we'll need all the allies we can get."
"Did you not have to leave in the first place to escape persecution? You won't be safe there," Sif said worriedly.
"Nowhere's safe now," Cora pointed out logically with a small shrug.
The group was silent a few moments before Volstagg stood and gave a nod of his head toward the BiFrost. "Let us go, then. There is not a moment to spare."
The sheer force of Thanos's power had put Asgard in various states of rubble and ruin. As they walked, Cora glanced up at Loki, who looked tense and had a hard set to his jaw. "The outcome?" she wondered aloud, guessing that as his focus of apprehension.
"In a way," he admitted quietly. "A whole succession of outcomes."
Cora had a feeling part of his stress was seeing Thor again and having to explain why and how he was alive—again—and then have all-out war come down on their heads. When they reached Heimdall, the gatekeeper seemed slightly weakened, but did not give any notion that he was without his usual strength. It lay mostly in his amber eyes.
His brows rose when he saw Loki. "Back from the dead again, are we?" he jabbed lightly in his deep, bass-like voice.
Loki gave the faint hint of a smirk as Sif said, "We need your power, Heimdall. An induced Ragnarök is upon us."
Heimdall's look grew grim, but he slammed his sword home into the center of the BiFrost observatory, the golden arcs along the walls rearranging themselves. "Where to?"
"Sif and myself to the Collector's keep," Volstagg replied. "And Fandral, Loki, and Cora to Midgard."
"We will soon need transport to Jotunheim, as well," Loki added.
Heimdall nodded and bid them be careful before sending them through, one group at a time. Sif and Volstagg went first and as Loki, Fandral, and Cora waited their turn, Cora turned to Heimdall. "I sincerely hope this is not the last time we meet," she told him and he smiled.
"I do not think it will be," Heimdall replied confidently. "I've faith in you to stop this atrocity."
"Hope I can live up to your expectations," Cora said truthfully as Loki guided her forward to step through the spinning golden portal.
"If you go in fighting with half the attitude you carry in a normal day, Thanos will be groveling at your feet!" he shouted and Cora laughed just before she was sucked into the vortex with Loki and Fandral, en route to Midgard once again.
When the blinding golden beams released them in another adrenaline-rush of a transport, Cora vaguely heard the sound of a car horn before she was pushed down. Smoky city smell stung her nose as she scrambled to get up, sighing as she saw Loki with his fist buried halfway into the grill of a black, bubbly-looking cab and small masses of civilians stopping to shriek and gawk at the sight, some even recognizing him from the Chitauri incident. By the looks of it, they were in London, which made sense after all that Jane had told her.
Cora reached out and took Loki's arm before towing him down the street to the sidewalk, making sure to mention conventions whenever someone gave them a funny look in their Asgardian garb. "Where's Fandral?" she asked, glancing around worriedly, hoping he wasn't brandishing his sword at a bus after what Loki pulled with the truck. Even if he had done it to keep them from being hit.
"Wherever he needed to go to get to the space gem," Loki said. "Heimdall separated us as soon as we breached the realm… Do you even know where we are going?"
"No, I've never been to London," she muttered irritably before remembering the last bit of her conversation with Jane and stopping to dig around in her purse as a couple passed her and grumbled about American tourists on their way.
"Well then how do you suppose we will even find my brother?"
"Shut up."
As she picked through the loose bits in her purse, Cora heard the dialogue replaying in her head. "I should go. I don't want anyone to realize I'm here, you know?"
"Oh, yeah, by all means. But here." She'd gone to her jacket across the room and pulled a slip of from the pocket. "Take this and give me a call next time you're, well, on Earth. If we all survive this, that is."
Loki stopped and watched her pull out the business card Jane had given her and start to dial the number on her phone, which was on its last few percentage points of battery life. "Please pick up, please pick up," she murmured in a quiet chant just before hearing the answer. "Jane! Sorry, it's Cora."
"Cora? You actually get cell reception on Asgard?"
"No, I'm back in Midgard. London, actually. Listen, I need directions to your flat. We need to talk to you and Thor."
Jane gave her the instructions based on where they figured out Cora was and then remembered Cora's choice of words as they were about to hang up. "Wait, 'we'?" It was a question, but her tone hinted at her already having an inkling of what was going on. An inkling she wasn't sure was possible.
"It's probably exactly what you're thinking and we'll be there soon," Cora managed to get in just before her phone died. She dropped the device back into her purse and grabbed Loki's hand. "Come on," she said, towing him along behind her as she hurried down street after street that Jane had discussed with her, thinking how ridiculous it seemed now to remember that she'd led a boring life some time not too long ago.

Prompt: marriage - Russingon
There had been a time, long ago but also not that long ago, when Fingon had dreamed and yearned with the innocence of youth that had only ever known the bliss of Aman under the light of the Two Trees. He had been fearless and impulsive, running around in the green, green fields of Tirion with a laugh on his lips. Ai, those had been the days.
Glade of flowers stretching for miles where you could sometimes see Ever Young Vana dance, splash in cold rivers in the ever-summer of Valinor, sing and be loud and brash and not heed any consequences because the worst thing that could happen was a mild glare from his father who loved him too much to be able to scold him in earnest when he got his younger siblings covered in mud and late for dinner.
Those were the times.
Then. Then everything changed. There was darkness and blood and oaths and exile then betrayal and the unforgiving Ice for so so long.
And when Findekáno arrived in Beleriand, skin on bones, heart in pieces and anger through his cold veins he was told that Maitimo, his Russo, had opposed the Burning and that his uncle had died and Maitimo probably shared this fate - taken to the Enemy's fortress not to be seen nor heard again, and so, and so this was the fate of the high Kings of the Doomed Noldor in Middle-Earth.
Fingon had raged and cried and did the most impulsive and reckless action of his life so far. He had walked to Thangorodrim with spite burning in his hröa. And saved Maitimo who was not Well Made anymore, a skeleton hanging on a cliff battered by elements and how in Eru's Grace was he still breathing?
And his cousin had lived somehow, after Fingon had cut his wrist, lived and healed but the price to pay had been high. So many nights spent calming the trashing, the memories of torture, the guilt and self loathing. And the distance between their fëar. For he had still been angry at his Russo, and so very fucking glad and relieved to see him and all these emotions warring every day, every hour.
And Maedhros was building walls of steel around his heart and keeping him - Findekáno, Fingon out. And it hurt, hurt so bad. Yet, because it seemed that despite their Doom the Valar still had some little grace toward them ( no, only toward you Findekáno, Russo would say. An argument he refused to have again) Maitimo- (no, please call me Maedhros he had croaked) survived and the fire in his eyes had burned white and blinding, the Enemy had no idea what was coming - a storm, a storm of red and silver fires.
And he had left Fingon and shoved Kingship at his and his father's feet, took his rambunctious siblings and left to Himring, last stronghold before the Enemy. And Fingon had wondered and shed tears for a dream that seemed too distant. As the box of memories left in his rooms in Valinor, forgotten in the rush of the Exile.
Running blind through wistful thinking and pinning for adolescent dreams. Before all of this, the fuckery of their own making and he was so tired, so very tired because all he had wanted was to run free and explore and call Maitimo his as Russo would too call Finno his. Where gauntlets of metal now covered their fingers he had wanted gold rings, a promise, a binding lasting ever beyond the Breaking of the World.
"I would have married you." He had whispered to the night, letting the wind carry his love, let it be lost amongst the stars, let the Valar hear how his heart bled out. Let then mock Fingon's defiant love amongst the death and carnage. Let them see him burn for Nelyafinwë.
That night Fingon dreamed of lands made of ashes and his name being yelled by Maedhros across a field of devastation. He remembered thinking you came for me (I always will Maedhros had seemed to answer, across space and time, I will always find you Findekáno) and then shadow and flames and - he had opened his eyes.
Fingon had lied in bed, eyes filled with tears and heart hammering and thought, no, certainly this was a nightmare.
In the evening a letter came for him. A meeting requested- formal speech, straight to the point.
And then Maedhros stood in front of him, clad in armour, cloak draped over his right arm. The lake reflected in his eyes. Fingon ached.
"I dreamed-"
"Me too."
The silence stretched. It was a nightmare he said, half convinced. He shivered. Somehow sometimes he felt as if he had never left the Helcaraxë.
"I will not let that happen." The steel in Maedhros' eyes sent tremors of fear in Fingon. Where are you Russo he wanted to ask. His hands clenched the red cloak.
"I won't either." Now he could feel his own fire untamed through his heart.
"You and I until the Enemy is defeated."
Maedhros didn't smile but his shoulders - slightly crooked now- seemed to tense ever more.
"And beyond that." He simply replied and Fingon almost sobbed against his chest.
"Yes beyond that." He echoed and allowed himself to reach for those naive dreams once more.
"I will always find you Russo." He vowed, he refused to make it an Oath, no but his heart had been Valiant enough, and he took another step closer.
"And I too."
There had been no rings. Maedhros' lips had been as icy as the Lake.
And when Findekáno had walked amongst them again, long, long after another Dark Lord had been vanquished, even longer after the world had grown strange and Elves had been nothing more than mythology he had looked for and waited still.
For a return.
For a sign.
And Námo had only stared at him and said nothing.
He had waited. Sitting in the grass in front of the Halls, for so long that the skies changed and rumours of an end came forth. He had waited and hoped, and sung, and begged and raged and cried then sung again. So long that another Battle began and the world Broke under his feet.
Russo he had called still. Relentlessly.
Russo.
Maitimo.
Nelyo.
Finno? You found me.

disorganized thoughts on fionna and cake eps 5 and 6
(Spoilers!!)
ok ive only seen the eps once each and im going off of memory so a lot of this is probably gonna be paraphrased and mixed up but whatever . also this post is really fucking long lol sorry
-OK FIRST OFF THESE WERE SO GOOD RAAAAAH
-obviously we are in the farmworld, not surprised but very happy!!!
-also not very surprised fionna and cake immediately went along with simon’s plan
-the whole time they were talking about where to find a crown i was like lol. simon don’t look behind you
-cake bringing fionna a dead rat was really funny
-the versucci gag or whatever was also really good
-but what made me die was fionna talking abt how she’s played a lot of post apocalyptic rpgs and then it pans over to “man who has actually lived through the apocalypse”
-was really cool to see how the farmworld has developed after what happened with ice finn, i think it’s interesting how they’re more technologically advanced since the first time an ice age happened in this world they pretty much reverted to medieval times (does that make sense. you know what i mean)
-i was SO convinced jay was farmworld finn’s little sibling so when he said dad my heart stopped
-the name jay didn’t immediately click until bonnie was revealed to be one of his other kid’s name and i was like HOLY SHIT PUHOY???
-veeeery interesting since assumingely golb destroyed/erased the pillow world
-i guess you could just chalk it up to finn would have named his kids the same thing in any universe?
-but i mean speaking of his kids GOD he got busy with huntress wizard
-i mean it has to be huntress wizard. one of them looks just like human hunter wizard
-sucks that she died though
-simon’s ship of theseus thing was so fucking funny oh my god he’s just like me fr (i started talking about the ship of theseus in one of my assignments a few days ago and i was like. is this too nerdy.)
-i haven’t really talked about farmworld finn yet. a little sad he turned out so cold (pun not intended oops 😭) because of what happened to him when he was younger
-good on him for saying simon was a damn fool or whatever for wanting to put the crown on lol
-i wish they actually had a talk though
-cake saying fionna should kiss him while knowing he’s just an alternate version of her??????? girl
-also farmworld jake still being alive was crazy
-so it did turn out the crown was destroyed in this world, i honestly wasn’t sure since the crown from the main world survived direct contact with a comet lol
-the romeo and juliet style romance going on between finn’s kid and big destiny’s kid was really good
-finn showing up with bartram lmao!!!!!
-dude i love bartram, the bit in finn the human where finn’s mom says that they have to sell the mule and then bartram’s head peaks out from the bed in the corner is unironically one of my favorite jokes in adventure time
-i kinda forgot what happens between here and the end
-so did farmworld finn fucking die????
-idk what happened there i sure hope not
-i really don’t know if we’re going to revisit these worlds in any capacity considering the amount of time left but i hope we do now!! i feel like we need to see what happens lmao
-now for ep 6
-wasn’t really expecting it to open on “fionna world” as they started calling it
-i was wondering how they were gonna balance gumball and marshall yaoi with what’s going on with the main trio
-they did it really well though i think
-i also wasn’t really expecting to be introduced to winter king right away once we got back to the main plot
-he definitely gave me weird vibes right from the start im gonna be honest lol
-blaah i don’t really remember what happens between that and the winter wonder world sequence
-so ill just talk about that. holy fuck
-every review i read before the show came out was really hyping this scene up and i get why now
-was really cool to see the beyond the grotto animation again and the song was so good it’s still stuck in my head
-but the moment the winter king said he overcame the crown with sheer will i was like. um. im calling bs
-i was just thinking however it did happen though i have a bad feeling about! felt really bad for simon and when he said that he sucked i was like. oh no ☹️ dude
-the moment i saw little ice marcy pretty much cemented it for me i was like oh no something fucked up is happening here. tbh i still can’t really figure out what happened with that but given what the winter king said about making an ice betty. uhhhhhhhhhh
-OH YEAH cake once again saying simon and the winter king should kiss . GIRL WHAT ARE YOU ON
-i looooved crazy pb
-i remember when people were saying she was a marcy pb child lmao.
-simon saying that he wanted to “fix her” while the winter king just wanted to kill her was really interesting. im trying to figure out what it means lol. like we know that simon wants to be the ice king again but also now knowing he would want to fix and save someone from that madness…idk
-her song was really good
-her playing those ominous notes on her keyboard made me laugh
-i haven’t really talked about gumball (im not calling him gary im sorry) and marshall. i thought they were really cute!!! could definitely see marcy and pb meeting in a similar way
-the juxtaposition between gumball talking about his creations to fionna fighting the fucked up versions of them was really cool
-i hope gumball doesn’t take what the lemoncarbs said to heart . they’re just like that
-ok so. I was honestly more shocked that fionna kissed (a version of) simon than him disintegrating seconds after lmaooooo
-i have to wonder why he immediately died here when in betty (the episode) he was dying relatively slowly without the crown’s magic
-ive been writing down a bunch of crack theories and the first thing ive gotten right was the winter king transferring his craziness to pb lol lets goooo
Tumblr media
-i was thinking that simon might’ve transferred it himself but then i was like nooo he wouldn’t do that….apparently he would do that
-idk despite how he seemed i think the winter king was still a little insane in the membrane.
-maybe the crown was still influencing him in some way? and that’s the message here? idk
-i can’t believe bi fionna is real
-back to gumball and marshall. gumball describing slumber party panic……oh my jod 🥺🥺🥺
-the baby world was so cute
-“and i’ll be cursed the right way” simon do you fucking hear yourself
Ok that’s definitely not all i have to say but this post is long enough lmao ,, god this show is SO GOOD i can’t believe it’s real. ok that’s all

Thoughts on the Winter King (Fionna and Cake Spoilers) for episode 6
Okay, so I have a lot of thoughts about the Winter King. First off, in regard to Marcy I think the implication is Simon failed to protect Marcy while wearing the crown or put it on in attempt to protect her only to fail and completely lose it.
As for Winter King (WK) himself. I think there are actually a lot of red flags in his behavior. First off, it appears that he doesn't actually fix problems directly he just sort of solves the symptoms and makes people happier and "everything better" but doesn't actually address the source of the issue in most cases. For example, he doesn't actually fix or conquer the crown he just makes the madness someone else's problem. A similar behavior can be seen when he gives Fionna the sword. Her doesn't actually try to teach Fionna to fight or promise to teach her how to fight during the week the crown would be getting replicated or any long-term solution. He just gives he a sword that does all the work for her. Which is fine in a pinch if you have no other options in a fight but what happens if she ever loses that specific sword, it breaks, or something happens to the person seemingly maintaining it (WK himself). The fact that he just sort of tries to make Fionna happy or placate her ended up feeding into more negative aspects of her personality and slaughtering candy citizens without thinking anything through. This all makes me suspect that when Marceline died or left WK simply replaced her instead of addressing whatever feelings of grief or loss he had after she was gone.
Another thing about the Winter King is I don't think he's Simon. I think he's more like Ice King without the madness which is important for his character. I would say this is alluded to in how, just like normal Ice King, he has trouble recalling and remembering Betty. Which makes me wonder if he remembers Marceline because that's what caused him to lose it or if he doesn't really remember her specifically and just made the fake before he completely changed or is just acting off vague emotions. We know Ice King had moments where he seemed at least vaguely aware of the sadness and struggle he went through and was going through even if not consciously. I think this is all important to consider because it means that despite what WK says he didn't actually conquer or overcome the crown. He embraced it and is sort of used it as a crutch while making it someone else's problem. Similar to Ice King even though he's not mad he appears to be in at least a somewhat often delirious state. So, in a way he isn't really any better than Simon who wants to use Ice King as a crutch to feel happy again or less cognizant of his suffering.
Likewise, I think the Candy Queen attempting to become one with WK might be due to a call from the crown and the madness of the crown trying to reunite with WK. This is reflected in how CQ wants to physically merge and become one with WK. Something I consider a bit strange since while kidnapping princes/princesses is something the madness of the crown seems to do WK mentions that CQ hasn't acted like this before and it's escalated. Plus, I don't remember Ice King ever wanting to physically become one with the people he kidnapped (but I might be forgetting a scene) so the behavior is odd. It could also simply be that she is subconsciously or even completely aware that WK was the source of her madness and suffering even in her maddened state.
The WK is also very interesting because while he seems perfect the more and more you think about it the more and more red flags come up. I mean in his song he literally tells Simon that mastering the crown is as easy as making your own reality.... which like is actually not easy for most people. Like at all. the way WK describes it is that all it takes to master the crown is a bit of willpower which is akin to telling someone with a mental disorder to just make a calendar, that getting some fresh air, or that just trying harder will fix all their problems. I think with this in mind Simon felt vindicated for good reason. Let's not forget if WK was 100% right this would have made Simon feel even more like a failure. It would have meant he was just too weak or that the crown was really easy to master. Not only that, but it would have implied his life would be better if he just forgot about Betty based on WK's comment. WK being wrong emotionally validates Simon because it's less that it's too good be to be true, but that's part of it, and more that it proves his struggles weren't easy and that he's not weak or a failure. WK found an easy way out sure, but that way involves forcing someone else to take the brunt of the backlash meaning the problem still exists. Something reflected in how CQ continues to kidnap and pester WK. Not to mention that the WK's plan to duplicate the crown was basically ruined by CQ busting into the room and she only did so because of the maddened state he put her in.
There's a lot about WK's backstory that's a mystery so it's also possible that he pawned the madness off on PB before he went completely mad or the crown completely overtook him which could be why he seems to remember more stuff than base Ice King but idk for sure.
