Today I noticed when I put my brakes on, there is a grinding noise.

After work, I am going to go to the garage and see the mechanic. I am hoping that I can keep driving my vehicle until the 24th, when I have a day off and book it in.

But, if he says no, it’s not safe to drive, I’ll have to take time off this week or early next week to get it done.

my car is starting to actually fall apart, lowkey

#the shocks have been trash for at least 2 years #i need new tires #driver's side primary headlight burned out #the side indicator light casing literally FELL OUT APPARENTLY so i'm missing half the passenger's side headlights #my windshield has been chipped since 2018 and fully cracked since 2021 #there's a rear wheel bearing making a VERY loud hum #oh and two of my 4 door handles are broken off #but my god i looked at the price of cars??? jesus CHRIST #how are people carrying $500/month car payments PLUS the necessary full coverage insurance on top of that???#after all that it would be like 1/3 of my whole month's income just for a car??#so i guess I need to spend the $1500 - $2000 on repairs and maintenance so that i don't end up with an insane car payment #OH and i need new brakes and rotors #christ #rray.txt

also to that end i sound like an angry driver but all I do is honk if someone’s being stupid (as in they cut me off or do something otherwise illegal), or just make a running commentary about their incompetence behind the wheel.

Spent a lot more money today than I was expecting to, but as having reliable transportation is a necessity I'm not really sweating it. I'm also very happy I'm in a financial situation where a surprise $1850 bill is something I don't have to worry about.
