Chapter 22 had me on the EDGE of my freaking seat. The only one I was right about was Neil, I was 100% positive it was him. I was positive it would only be one or 2 killers, but I did contemplate 3 of them existing. I just thought it was more likely that there was one or two lollll Roman and Angelina being involved surprised me, Roman and Randy were my only other serious suspects, but I was pretty positive Randy wasn't involved and I'm so glad I was right 😭😭 I only suspected Angelina for 5 seconds and then forgot about her.

OFC Billy chokes me out and nearly breaks my wrist for DARING to question his authority 🙄 I HATE THEM BRO. These two tried to get us to help kill Randy and then have the audacity to act like the victim.... GOOD GRIEF. Billy def gave us James PTSD flashbacks. I was gasping for air, my feet barely on the floor, and Stu's just like 🧍‍♂️ I fed you, let you sleep in my house, didn't shoot you, and THIS is the thanks I get? I hope Mark shoots ya'll-speaking of Mark, he really does care. I hope Billy and Stu saw Mark sacrifice himself for us bc THATS THE KIND OF MAN WE DESERVE 🙃 when Mark leaned down last chapter I was like 'Mark, baby, lean down a little more so we can get this party started' 😏

Ngl I'm still paranoid Randy is Neil's partner. I feel like maybe we're not outta the woods yet...I have multiple predictions for next chapter. 1. Randy 100% is dying. Manz is past his expiration date. Remember how in Sequels Suck Ray told Y/n that he would "make the nerd the hero for once?" If Randy really loves us as his bestie, then he 100% would be willing to die to protect us. Randy doesn't wanna be the nerd, he wants to be the main man for once 🥺🥺 he regrets not being able to protect us already. 2. Mark 100% dies. He just knows too much, and he has a HUGE target on his back. I really can't see him getting out of this. Still wanna go on a date tho 🥺 3. Dewey LIVES. If Ray dies, Y/n still needs someone normal in her life. 4. Gale I'm kind of conflicted on. She has Stu's file, so she has a target on her back, but she's also like a roach in a suit 🤣 I feel like it's too early to kill her off. It would make sense for her to never give up trying to find out if Billy and Stu are alive...so I'm gonna go with she lives. If Randy and Mark actually die, then I'm 100% positive she'll survive.

Roman was decided halfway through and Angelina was last minute...Like...That chapter lmfao bc the more I rewatched 3 the more she was so obviously meant to be a killer! Even her death scene was vague! But I left it open to interpretation if her and Roman were just partners or lovers

Like, they are as apathetic and ungrateful as it gets. We triggered them something awful when we 'turned against them' when they were starting to trust us and we fought back. LIKE WE HAD A CHOICE. But, in their fucked up minds, they come before anyone else + the more ppl they eliminate from Woodsboro that could be the killers; the better their chances of escape are w/o being caught by police. And then when we went to police (AGAIN...WHAT FUCKING CHOICE DO WE HAVE HERE?) that was like the ULTIMATE betrayal. They are so hard to write sometimes bc I would love for them to be normal guys in love instead of whatever the fuck we got but they are not~

I ship us with Mark and just like Ray last story it low key hurts that polyghostface is end game. Mark would treat us so right he actually feels like a perfect choice unlike Derek or hell maybe even Ray...Like, it pains me so. 🥲

okay so Bianca lives with her parents while her older brother is studying/working abroad. Her family home is pretty great, she loves them and they love her as well.

Big age gap with her brother like 8/10 years.

She loses interest in hobbies quickly, there has not been a thing she didn't do. The only thing that stuck was photography which unfortunately after everything she couldn't bring herself to do it anymore.

She has been best friends with both Tatum and Sidney ever since they were children and she gets protective of them once the killing starts.

Much to Tatum's annoyance, Bianca has a crush on Dewey and she won't ever stop irritating Tatum with that.

Bianca absolutely hates Billy, Stu and Randy. She can't stand them and jokingly suspected that they were the killers (once she figured out that she was half right woo boy).

During the second movie she goes to the same college with Sidney and Randy because she just wants to be with them (and not with unknown people), she decided to major in psychology.

I decide to leave Randy to stay dead (bc ofc I did) which affected Bianca even more, did I forget to mention she was also pregnant lmao.

One aspect I find fascinating about your fics is that Meg and a lot of the other characters are pop culture savvy, but also live in a universe where some of the most popular horror characters were real people. So, how do you think they would've reacted to meeting Nancy and Steve, who come from a universe where Michael, Laurie, and Freddy are all horror movie characters?

Ahhh thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked that. Pop culture was a really big element for a lot of the cast, & it is kinda funny I guess that several of them /are/ core horror pop culture.

So, this is kind of a hard one for me to answer, because I didn’t do ILM canon like DbD official canon. I do explicitly reference Stranger Things as fiction in Nearly Departed, but that was because I had not the foggiest clue DbD would /add/ a Stranger Things chapter—both because it’s super new and ongoing unlike their other horror “classic” staples, & because I wouldn’t even really call Stranger Things horror. I had been so damn careful 😂—I think the only horror film I name is Friday the 13th, which felt safe at the time because it’s got its own similar game & thus seemed unlikely to give DbD rights. If I had included Nancy & Steve, I would have gone back and replaced that segment with something similar, and just had ST exist in the same world as Halloween, NOES 2010, and Saw/all of the ILM cast. It’s the best solution, and you really don’t have to change any of the stories to do it. All that would have to change is that in this version of ST, Max wore a different Halloween costume, & three lines of dialogue are different. Fundamentally it’s exactly the same world. I know that’s maybe not the most exciting answer TuT, but it’s what I’d have done for a few reasons. Ima drop the rest under a read more bc I go way into writing & a little w horror meta tho: 💙

For one, it’s just kinda sad. It lowers the storytelling stakes because even a best-case scenario would be kind of a letdown for everyone. Not as much to gain: Not as much to lose. So, sad emotionally & kinda less motivating story-wise. Like, if any version of a happy ending even hypothetically would always mean these people who have bonded through years of self sacrifice and friendship and trauma and growth either /never/ see each other again, or go to one world together where only maybe one person would ever get to see their OG family again, and might also have to suffer with seeing their life as a film on that planet? Joked about, critiques, not taken seriously, no privacy? That’s just. It’s not a happy ending, or a satisfying one, even for the characters to /fight/ for, regardless of if they can win it or not. 

I’m aware that official DbD is multiverse, and there’s no assurance for even say Claudette and Meg being from the same world, let alone the world Halloween happens in, and was when I started writing. I just elected to ignore it. The devs even also explain a lot of the cosmetics as “alternate world versions” of the characters, instead of just fun costumes. I personally think that’s silly? And I’ve really never liked the multiverse decision. I got nothing at all against multiverse stories—they can be amazing—but you’ve got to have a reason if you do, and as far as I can tell, the only reason DbD is multiverse was so the Devs could release a bunch of classic horror characters into their game without worrying about continuity, which is lazy & not a great reason to pick multiverse. It can be great for stories, but in DbD, it would if anything just detract from the reality of the situation & the storytelling? Like, if I showed up in a hell pocket universe, and Michael Myers was there, it would be hard to take that situation entirely seriously, and it would fundamentally change how I interacted with others & they with me. If I knew his history, I’d use that to try to get through to him (what’s the worst that’ll happen? I’ll die like I do every day anyway?), but it would also be just weird & hard for people to relate. Like, if Steve Harrington has had conversations with a buddy about Laurie Strode being careless for not double-tapping her dead assailant & thinks of her as Jamie Lee Curtis & in some ways knows more about her life & family & universe than she does, but knows it all as an element of fiction? And at the same time, Kate’s seen Steve’s actor do interviews & play other roles and caught continuity errors in his /life/ while watching ST??? Hypothetically, someone /could/ unpack all that to tell a story, & maybe a fan has, but the Devs/game really, really haven’t, and in most instances, it’ll just mess up the characters’ abilities to relate to each other as human beings, as well as being miserable for the ones told they’re just characters from horror films in other people’s worlds.

The way DbD is set up really doesn’t lend itself to the kind of meta character vs humanity, role relationships between fiction & life narrative of, say, The Final Girls. Really all it does is make the world less real feeling. Less whole, more artificial. Less to be taken seriously, less belief willing to be suspended. Why are Laurie & Quentin fake in someone’s world? Does Meg not being in a story in Quentin’s universe mean she’s more real? It’s just messy. Multiverse is fine, but if you pick multiverse solely to make your job easier, at the cost of a more coherent, real, and engagable story (@ Devs >.>) that’s lazy/bad writing. I’ve read & enjoyed multiverse stories, but I’d never write DbD that way, bc I’d need a reason to, and I don’t have one. There was really no need for the devs to feel like they had to either, except pure ease w no work at all thinking about how or needing to explain anything, and I wish they hadn’t. : /

Like. Technically, Halloween & Scream shouldn’t be in the same canon—Halloween H20 plays a chunk of Scream 2 on TV, Scream 1 they’re watching Halloween 1978 & Scream 4 Sidney is asked “Who are you? Michael fucking Myers?” When she survives a murder attempt. But that’s not a big deal. It’s not a pivotal piece of world building and canon for either franchise. Scream is not fundamentally different if Randy is watching Friday the 13th or even some made up film, instead of Halloween. On top of that, a lot of horror references each other for fun and as tribute and I’m a huge nerd who adores this tradition. 😂 Scream & Halloween are so tight as franchises by the time Halloween H20 was released, that it actually uses chunks of Scream’s OST. It’s much better narratively for DbD if they’re all from one world, and in a way, it’s just a cool next step to the preexisting horror friendship metas between a lot of films. It’s really fun to figure out how they’d function together in one universe.

Anyway, that was long but I have so many thoughts on DbD & writing thank you for giving me an excuse to gush!! And thank you again for the compliment. I’m really happy you like my writing. It means a lot. 💙

A Deep Analysis on Who the Killer/killers Could Be

This is my own personal opinion, so nobody go feral on me plz 😭 quotes in bold. I just wanna give some possible insight.

Neil Prescott - 10/10. Neil is my #1 guess, especially after that one meme. It makes PERFECT sense. He wouldn't know the full story since he was locked in a closet in Set Up. He would be the most likely to believe Gale's book since he never knew us personally. He might feel inclined to believe Gale about us being involved since she was right about Cotton too 🤷‍♀️ since he doesn't know the full story, he's going to look at the wrong places for answers. The only way he'd know more of the story is if Sid survived with him.

He ofc would want revenge on Billy and Stu for quite literally taking away the last thing he had. “Leave me…I have no one left now.” He shut his eyes and held her as you tried protesting but Randy dragged you out.

A man who has nothing left to live for except possible revenge? Sounds like a Billy 2.0 in the making 😅 He'd be furious at Gale for the book portraying his daughter poorly and for the movies making money on his daughters death/fake death. If Sid were to survive with him, she could tell him the lies Billy and Stu feed her about us being involved back in Set Up. If she's actually dead, he could go off of everything else - the rumors, gales book, the movies. The rage would just keep piling up until he finally got tired of the grief and went after us.

Another point - the police made it clear in Set Up that Neils body WASN'T FOUND. “I’m going to give it to you straight, kid. We have two teen girls dead at this party, three wounded, one was a deputy on my police force. Three bodies not found-”

Two of those bodies were Billy and Stu, the two dead teen girls are Tatum and Sid, and they NEVER mentioned Neil being found 👀 unless it was a typo, I'm positive it's him.

Sidney Prescott - 6/10. If Sid survived, she'd go into hiding to prevent Billy and Stu from coming for her. The police failed to protect Sid, so her hiding is more likely. Her motive would be revenge for Billy and Stu killing her mom, almost killing her dad and her, killing Tatum. She'd want revenge on us for taking the bullet for Billy and letting them escape Windsor. In our defense, the Windsor situation was a lose- lose one. B and S would have escaped the cops, and they would come back to take us with them 🤷‍♀️ we have a right to live. We could have signed Ray and Dewey's death certificates too by telling the cops. Anyways, Sid may have believed we were involved cause of the movies and gales book too. She would remember Billy and Stu taunting her on us being involved.

However, the reason it's a 6/10 for me is bc the police said they found her body 🤷‍♀️ you can't fake Sid's dead body. The only way she could have survived is if Neil took her to the hospital if she resurrected. Even then, how would they have escaped the hospital undetected? Billy and Stu did it, but idk if Neil and Sid could have. The police never specified how they found her body either. Neil would have had to carry it outside if he survived. There's no way he would have left her body to burn, its HIS DAUGHTER. Maybe he carried her body outside, she came back like Mickey 2.0, and he took her to the hospital and somehow slipped out 🤣 that's the most plausible theory, but it goes completely against the polices statement.

Another thing is that we HELPED SID. Yes, we chose Billy over her, but we helped her take them down. We clearly wanted them caught even if Sid admitted after Billy went unconscious that she still didn't trust us. IF she survived.... Maybe Sid gave us the benefit of the doubt since after she said 'I still don't trust you' she hugged us 😭

Dewey - 0/10. THERES NO WAY 🤣🤣 THIS MANS GOT A BUM LEG. I'd like to see him come after us with that trash aim and a HOBBLE 🤣 I love Dewey, but even with a partner, I feel like the partner would kill him cause he's a liability. The only motive would be Tatum, but this is DEWEY. He's always been genuine and he's too genuine to become a monster. It just wouldn't be realistic. If he found out we were lying, he'd be devastated, but if we explained why I feel like he would understand. We lied to the cops bc we really didn't have much of a choice. It was still selfish, but you can't blame us for mainly wanting to survive and keep everyone else safe. Stu forced himself into our life and we were too scared to call the cops bc we knew if he got away, he'd come after us.

If anything, the most Dewey would do is tell the cops that we lied. He wouldn't try to kill us. Why? Bc he's a normal guy and we remind him of Tatum 💔 he said it in ch 17 of Set Up. He loves us like a sister.

Randy Meeks - 3/10. NOT MY BABY 😭 I could never imagine him killing someone. He blamed us for Sid and it's understandable. We protected a killer who clearly wasn't gonna magically change and Sid died for it. She didn't deserve to die obv and to know we protected BILLY of all people REALLY hurt him. However, this is Ray, the nerd scared of Billy. Even if he found out the truth, I feel like he'd be livid, but not enough to hurt us. He had romantic feelings for us and he GENUINLY cared about us in Set up and sequels. He was horrified at what Stu and Billy did and he even called them sick freaks and whatnot and I feel like he'd refuse to be on their level.

Ray's always been that cool nerd and I just feel like he could never be a killer cause he's normal like Dewey. His motive would be for Sid, but Ray forgave us for the Sid situation in sequels. He's not angry anymore and he even FELL for us despite what we did ���� u could argue the Derek situation could make him a killer, but Ray doesn't strike me as petty like that. Sid can try to manipulate him, but I don't think it would work. Ray jumps to conclusions, but even in sequels he gave us the benefit of the doubt during the hickey situation. He realized at Windsor we couldn't be involved bc he knows us and he knows we're a terrible liar as well. Ray even admitted on the love shack that even when he used to blame us for Sid, he NEVER thought we were a traitor.
