something about the night changing
watching the guess that build videos made me so nostalgic for the old build swap videos, I almost started crying
click on the picture for better quality, I think Tumblr has really butchered it this time
(also if you submitted a writing ask, those will start to happen tomorrow, today has been really emotionally exhausting and I haven't had the energy to write anything, but I will get started on those soon!)

Their Fight [A]
This was originally posted on my Wattpad, for more notes on all of my stories go there, same user as here. *Mentions of murder, harm, Sam from YHS, etc...
XisumaVoid: Hey G, come to spawn, there's a new person you need to meet.
Grian looked down at his communicator once again, he was confused no one had told him about a new hermit joining the server and with him not being the admin he couldn't see who it was.
With one final flap of his wings he dived down towards the ground, pulling up at the last second and landing gracefully on his feet. His wings disappeared, instead replaced by his elytra. No one quite knew that Grian had wings, they knew he was a hybrid, just no one knew what type he was. The small hermit walked up to the group, coming out of the tree line, he stood next to Xisuma waiting for X to realize he was there.
"Hello Grian, how was the trip?" X asked the blonde, looking over at him from the crowd around the new person.
"It was fine, who's the new person? Are they just visiting or are they gonna be a permanent heranmit- wait, crap, hermit! I meant hermit!" Grian sputtered, blushing because of his mess up.
"He isn't a permanent member, we're just letting him stay until I can figure out how to get him back to his server. He said his name is Taurtis." X explained, Grian was nodding along until he heard the name.
"Wait, Taurtis? As in Taurtis Oguni?" Grian questioned, eyebrows furrowed. There's a chance it's not him, right? Grian was thinking, he was sure it was just a misunderstanding.
"Uh, maybe? He didn't give us a last name." Xisuma said, looking at the smaller hermit in question, why was this his reaction? Did he know the ravenette before? If so, why did he seem so disturbed by the thought of him?
Everyone started to disperse a bit, knowing there was a clear way to reach the new person and Grian automatically saw who it was. His look of shock confused Xisuma even more, seriously why was Grian reacting like this?
The ravenette in the center of the crowd turned his head, seemingly to answer someone when he saw the short, dirty blonde hermit just outside of the crowd. "Grian?!" He shouted in surprise, staring at the person in question.
"Hello Taurtis, it's been a while." Grian said, a clearly forced smile present on his face.
"It has, how've you been?" Taurtis replied in a sickly sweet tone, that same forced smile clear on his face.
"Oh aside from them I've been fine. Did they finally get tired of you? If so, I told you it was only a matter of time." Grian answered back, scrunching his eyebrows together with a fake smile before letting his face drop back into a deadpan expression.
"They didn't kick me out. I just got lost, y'know, looking for him." Taurtis said, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"I told you it was a bad idea to go after him!" Grian spoke in a raised tone, he wasn't shouting or yelling, though his voice was louder then many had heard him speak with before.
"Oh but you didn't stop me?!" Taurtis replied in an angry tone, glaring daggers at Grian. Knowing everyone else had backed away from Taurtis, X was still positioned at Grian's side. Grian took in a deep breath before replying.
"Taurtis, I tried to tell you not too, maybe if you hadn't been in your Watcher form I would've gotten through to your head! You know what that form can do to people! It takes over your head! It basically controls you and makes you think that all your most violent, chaotic thoughts are good ideas!" Grian shouted back, he was clearly frustrated, no one knew how the two knew each other, no one besides Pearl.
"Wait, wait, wait! What are you two talking about?! I know stuff happened after Evo, Taurtis you disappeared like halfway through, Grian got kidnapped after the dragon fight and he was never heard from again, did you two meet again at some point or something?! What are you two talking about?" Pearl asked, stepping between the two and looking at each of them.
"The Watchers, Pearl. I left to become one and Grian did too! Of course we would meet again in the Watcher realm! And what we're talking about is, kindly, none of your business!" Taurtis explained briefly.
"That's a lie! I didn't become one willingly, Taurtis! How many times do I have to tell you, it was me becoming a Watcher or everyone on Evo dying!" Grian exclaimed, he took a shaky step forward, Xisuma automatically put his arm in front of Grian.
"Yeah well everyone on Evo ended up dead anyways! Honestly it was amazing to watch the superiors rip that place apart. I'm surprised Pearl was able to get out." Taurtis nonchalantly said, shocking everyone in the crowd. Pearl, Xisuma, and Grian all had a look of disgust or shock on their face, not believing what the ravenette had said.
"Are you serious right now? Did you actually want everyone to be dead?! The only good thing that came out of being a Watcher is that I was able to revive everyone! Sure, I don't know where anyone other then us three are, but I know that none of them are permanently dead anymore!" Grian yelled at the other, he sounded down, and he certainly was.
"Seriously Grian what is your problem?! I don't understand how you could possibly not at least enjoy knowing that you're stronger then a god! I don't understand how you are content living as a mortal! You could have joined me and helped me kill Sam! We could of had fun torturing him together! We could have gotten our revenge together!" Taurtis yelled out, everyone backed up even more, X put his arm down. Many people looked conflicted with what they were being told, this guy, who seemed to be a perfectly normal and kind person, was a Watcher and killed someone willingly?!
"Taurtis what reason did you have to actually KILL SAM?! THE WORST YOU GOT FROM HIM WAS BEING STABBED! YOU DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT THAT SAME DAY! I HAD TO STAY WITH HIM FOR OVER A YEAR! UNTIL WE FOUND YOU I WAS FORCED TO ACT LIKE YOU, I WAS THREATENED WITH A KNIFE OR EVEN DEATH ANYTIME I TRIED TO SAY SOMETHING "OUT OF TURN" OR WHEN I TRIED TO EXPLAIN HOW I WASN'T YOU!" Grian shouted, he looked as if he was on the verge of tears. "Taurtis, I stayed there, I stayed with Sam because I was trying to protect you. The hospital never told me you died, they never told me anything. How do you think I felt when I saw someone exactly like you in a playground at three in the morning? How do you think I felt when I was forced to act like you for even longer after we found you but you claimed to be "Jerry". How do you think I felt when it was revealed that the you we found was a clone?!"
"Grian shut up! It wasn't that fucking bad, alright?! You've always been one to overreact!" Taurtis yelled back at the shorter, his large, purple wings appearing in a show of his frustration.
"Taurtis, you don't even know what happened after you died! Sam was constantly manipulating me, making me feel crazy or insane! Sam and Yuki killed so many people from our school while I was forced to watch! The police called me crazy, at one point Sam and your clone had forced me to join the Yakuza with them because you guys needed money! I had to watch as Yuki killed the closest person I had ever had to a father figure! I was forced to kill someone once, I didn't enjoy it, which compared to you openly enjoying killing people kind of tells me something!" Grian yelled, Taurtis started approaching the short hermit, his pace quickly increasing.
"I accepted my fate, Grian, the Watchers are the ones who had revived me after I died, they didn't ask me anything in return!" Taurtis huffed out, he had now cut the distance between the two down by at least half. "I left Evo and asked to join them because I realized what they were capable of. I was tired of being walked all over, I was done being undermined. The Watchers accepted me with open arms. They appreciated me-"
"So did I! So did everyone on Evo! We all cared about you, we all appreciated you! We were concerned when you disappeared, we had looked for you! We had to stop so we could figure out what the Watchers meant with their riddle because we knew that if we didn't figure it out fast enough they would punish us!" Grian exclaimed, he started walking towards Taurtis, after just a few steps he was less than a meter away from the other.
"Honestly I don't see the problem! I took out someone we both feared! I became powerful, Grian, I became powerful and I went back and fought our oldest enemy! I did you a favour. You should be thanking me." Taurtis growled, Grian stood his ground, he didn't falter back once, no matter how loud Taurtis got.
"Taurtis, what you did was wrong." Grian spoke, voice just barely audible.
"How so? How was getting revenge so wrong, Birdy? I don't think I did anything wrong, you would feel the same if you just accepted what you are!" Taurtis exclaimed, opening his arms widely.
"Would I? Would I Taurtis? I think that statement alone shows why I shouldn't accept being a Watcher. If being a Watcher means that thinking aimless murder is ok then I'm glad I'm not one." Grian responded, his wings reappearing and puffing his chest slightly, he couldn't help it, he was a bird.
A chorus of gasps rang out as the two stood face to face, the height difference causing Taurtis to have to look down. No one had seen Grian's wings before, well, no one beside the admin that stood just behind Grian. The chaotic hermit had always used an elytra and rocket whilst in the company of others or when he figured he would be passing other hermits.
"What are you going to do? You didn't stop me from killing Sam, YOU KNEW MY PLANS, GRIAN! Honestly I think you're just as bad as Sam at this point." Taurtis whispered, just loud enough for Grian to hear.
"Don't you EVER compare me to Sam again, Taurtis. You were in your Watcher form when you told me what you were going to do. I was scared, with how a Watcher form can affect someone I wasn't about to get in your way and die while trying to get you to not kill Sam." Grian replied though he was louder with his reply then the other had been.
Just as Taurtis was about to reply, a portal opened behind him, a portal only three people recognized. This portal was made of bedrock and was in the shape of the symbol that always showed up on Evolution when the watchers were involved. A deep, menacing voice rang through the portal, calling for two people.
"Xelqua, you and your little server of friends will be left alone, do not fret. We are only here for the ravenette." The voice spoke, Taurtis, still staring at Grian, smiled slightly, cupping the others face.
"We will meet again, don't you worry Birdy, just not on a Tuesday." Taurtis whispered before he stood up straight, dropping his hand that had been resting on Grian's cheek. He walked towards the portal and stopped just as he was about to go through. "Thanks for revealing yourself for me, Grian."
And just like that Taurtis was gone. Grian realized what had happened, what he did, what he had said. Grian realized that Taurtis wasn't lost, he realized that Taurtis had come here to reveal all of Grian's secrets, to make all the other Hermits fear him, make them hate him. Grian realized what had been revealed, very few knew anything about Grian's past but now? Now everyone knows so much more. Now everyone who didn't know he was a Watcher before knew.
"G," a voice called out from the crowd, Mumbo, it was Mumbo's voice. "Are you actually a Watcher?"
It was clear that he was hesitant, that he was afraid, well, that's what Grian thought. Grian had been one of his best friends, how had he not known? Would he have been able to tell if he had just looked closer at details? Did Grian not trust him? Is that why Grian never told him what he was? How come he didn't even know the dirty blonde was a parrot hybrid? It was so obvious looking back at it.
"I... Yeah, I am... Though technically I would be classified as a 'Runaway Watcher' seeing as I left that place and my position there. I don't really use my Watcher Powers unless necessary. I have told X and Doc before, I figured it would be most important to tell them. I promise, Mumbo, I promise I was going to tell you! I was just scared, it's not every day that you run into a 'Runaway Watcher', I only know of two or three others to have ever ran." Grian rambled, he was nervous that the others would hate him, it was really clear.
The small avian had been startled when he felt a pair of arms wrap around him, and even more shocked when a second pair did as well. Right away he could tell it was Scar and Mumbo. Another person joined their hug, this time it was Pearl, the Stress, then Iskall, Doc, Impulse, and soon it was one big doggy-pile of all the hermits and in the center of it all was Grian. Xisuma stood outside of the pile, watching all his members hugging each other, helping comfort one another. He pulled out his communicator and took a picture before getting dragged into the pile.
Everyone stayed at spawn for a while, each asking different questions and Grian responding with an answer, when the sun started to go down many started returning to their bases. Some went in groups to a certain person's base so they could hang out and talk about what happened. Xisuma, Iskall, Mumbo, Scar, and Pearl all ended up following Grian, to their best abilities, seeing as he was flying faster than usual since he was using his natural wings, back to his base.

Grian sat back down on the chest. “Yeah, so, um,” he continued, “Scar fell down a ravine and turned red, and I was still green. It was technically the rule that reds were hostile towards greens and yellows, but we kind of… well, in reality, all the factions stayed the same even as a mix of reds and greens and yellows, it was just more like the reds became the muscle, or like the intimidator of their respective teams, and were only hostile towards greens and yellows on other teams.” Grian sighed. “The rules are a lot more strict this time. The reds are a lot more… unhinged.”
Taurtis was watching him curiously, and his gaze flicked away as he thought on Grian’s last statement.
“Scar and I actually won, y’know.” Grian half-smiled, but it immediately turned sad. “But of course, They wouldn’t let us have two winners. There could only be one.”
“... What happened?” Taurtis asked quietly, after a pause.
“We went back to our mountain in the desert. We planted a ring of cactus. And we fought, no weapons and no armour, while the ghosts of everyone else raved around us for our blood to stain the sand.”
Taurtis was silent, but Grian could still hear the question that he wanted to ask: who won?
“By this point I was also down to red, of course,” Grian continued, delaying the answer. “I lost my first life in a battle with Martyn’s faction. I think it was actually Martyn that killed me, even. So of course, with my green life lost, that meant I was out of my debt to Scar; I could leave him and go join another faction; I was free from his ludicrous schemes.” Grian paused, sighing lightly. “But I couldn’t. I couldn’t leave him, couldn’t let him die to something stupid with no-one there to remind him to put his armour back on.” He let out a faint laugh, eyes unseeing. “So I stayed with him for the rest of the game. Until it was only us and Bdubs left. I was still yellow, so Scar made a game out of it. He had this thing with handing out pieces of paper, made a thing with ‘reputation points’ and ‘no-kill passes’, conning people out of stuff using their fear of him as a red life. So he threw a no-kill pass on the ground, and had me and Bdubs fight over it.
“Bdubs managed to grab it first, so Scar turned around and, um. He killed me.” Grian drew in a breath. “Well, technically it was Bdubs who got the final shot, but it was Scar’s fault. After everything we’d been through… he betrayed me.”
“Oh dang…” Taurtis whispered.
“I was angry when I respawned. I mean, who wouldn’t be? And I was red now, so I went after him. I caught up with him and Bdubs, jumped on Scar, yelling at him for being a traitor; he and Bdubs both fell off a cliff, landed in a pond, and I followed them, still going for Scar…” Grian paused, smiling a little even as a frown creased his brow. “But Scar didn’t fight back. Scar turned on Bdubs and killed him, and then he…”
You can kill me. For all you’ve done to keep me alive, you may slay me and take the enchanter.
“... After everything we’d been through, he offered me the win. Because of everything we’d been through, he would’ve let me kill him then.”
What? No!
“But after everything we’d been through - everything we’d been through together - I didn’t want to kill him.” Grian looked down at his hands. He imagined they were stained with Scar’s blood again, and blinked hard. “But in the end, I did. At the top of our mountain, in that ring of cactus… I was the final winner.”

Animosity [Pirate AU]
[Pirate AU Masterlist]
This story is set a few years after the events of ‘Trauma’.
~
“Cadet! You missed a spot over there!”
Loud clanging of metal rang under deck as the metal bucket was kicked over, spilling muddy water all over the floor. Grian balled his fists holding the dirty piece of fabric he had been cleaning with. He had been almost done with his duties for the day. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. If he spoke up now, he’d be reprimanded again. And if there was one person that seemed to hate him more than the First Mate it was his Captain.
“I’m sorry. I’ll get right back to it”, he said in a flat voice.
There was a grunt of annoyance – probably at his tone – and the bucket was kicked once again, flying into his direction and hitting him in the chest, splattering some left over muddy water all over him.
“Try again, cadet.”
Grian gritted his teeth, starring up at the First Mate, trying to keep his hate from showing. “I’m sorry, sir.”
The older man nodded and walked past him, right through the muddy puddle and Grian knew he’d be busy cleaning everywhere once more.
“Why were we the ones who needed to take a rebellious orphan runt like you… I hope some pirate gets rid of the burden for us soon”, the First Mate muttered under his breath, but Grian could still hear him. The moment the man walked around the corner, Grian held up his middle finger, mouthing a few choice words in the direction.
He remembered being so happy when he had finished his last classes at the navy’s academy. He had graduated with top grades and had been promised a good position… So they had put him onto a ship with some really prestigious overly-decorated people. Prestigious assholes was more like it. The last time those guys had done any amazing feat, TFC had probably still roamed the six seas.
Grian took another deep breath, looking at the mess he’d have to clean up and sighed. He wiped off his hand on his shirt and then took out his locket to look at the small picture. It always helped him calm down before.
“And this was your dream? Scrubbing floors in the darkness? Or would they have let you out there with your charming smile?”, he whispered, pausing for a second before shaking his head at his own antics. Taurtis wouldn’t have been back-mouthing higher ups landing him below deck. Taurtis would have been smiling through it all. If only Taurtis was here and they could go through this together.
Grian sighed in annoyance at himself. If Taurtis would be here, Grian would either be still rotting on that damn island or living the life of a pirate, killing and torturing innocent people. He would have become a dirty criminal. He couldn’t complain about being forced to clean a little. One day he’d have his own fleet below him and then nobody could order him around anymore.
And so he kept scrubbing the deck, praying that none of the other higher-ups would walk up and force him to start all over again. A few minutes later he could hear footsteps, clenching his hand around the rag, not daring to look up. If he didn’t make eye-contact they sometimes pretended he wasn’t there and went on.
“Grian?”
Grian’s head snapped up, his whole face lighting up. There was only one person on this ship that would pronounce his name in such a weird and endearing way.
“Sam!”
The moment he stood up, Sam took in his dirty appearance and his mood darkened. “Who did that? And don’t tell me again that you stumbled. We both know it’s never true.”
The brunette smiled at him, but soon his eyes travelled over the mess on the floor. “Did they put you on cleaning duty again? Man, those old men don’t deserve someone as good as you. They are wasting all your talent.”
Grian smiled at the compliment and slowly stood up. “It’s alright. I haven’t been on this ship that long yet. It’s normal for the new guy to do stuff like that.”
Grian just shrugged, looking down at his muddied uniform. What was he supposed to say? They both knew what was going on around here, but there was nothing they could do about it and Grian didn’t want to risk Sam getting into a fight with the first mate – again.
“Don’t worry, Sam. I’m used to cleaning. It’s not different from the work mama used to give us back in the orphanage.”
Sam’s face seemed to lighten and he chuckled a little. “Well as I remember you and Taurtis loved to ditch exactly those chores to go play pirate and navy, leaving me to clean up the mess.”
“Oh, please” Grian laughed as well “As if you ever did any work. You had all the younger kids wrapped around your finger, doing all the work for you. No wonder mama called us the troublemaker trio. We were really bad… the three of us.”
Grian sighed and let his hang a little, his hand automatically searching for the locket beneath his clothes. “Good times...”, he whispered quietly, only to be suddenly engulfed by arms, pulled into a tight hug.
“I’m so sorry I wasn’t there anymore to save him.”
Grian just shook hist head. “That’s not your fault. I’m glad you weren’t there to get hurt, so I have at least one of you still with me.” Sam gently caressed Grian’s back, helping him calm down from the memory of Taurtis’ death.
“Still… I should have just waited two more years until you guys were old enough to join the navy with me. Maybe things could have been different then.” Grian shrugged at that. Things might have been different if Sam had been there. Sam had always been the best fighter amongst the three of them. But against pirates? If Sam had been there Grian might now be mourning two friends instead of one.
With a sigh Sam finally let go of him, smiling at him with so much pity in his eyes. “Now who did that to you Grian?”
“Does it matter?”
“It matters to me.”
Grian didn’t answer at first. He didn’t want to get Sam into trouble, but he felt the need to share what was happening, if only to have a place to vent. “It was the First Mate...”, he finally admitted quietly. In an instant Sam’s face was furious again and Grian was sure that he’d do something stupid if he didn’t stop it. “You can’t fight with him about that. You’ll only make things worse. Especially not now, so close to your promotion! They might take it back.”
Sam seemed to calm down at his words, if only by a little. "This sucks! They shouldn't be allowed to do shit like that! It's not fair. Once I'm Captain I won't do something like that."
Grian smiled at his friend warmly. He knew Sam would be an amazing captain. He was just naturally good with people, all charming and charismatic. "You won't have to wait much longer."
"Listen Grian..." Sam looked at him out of serious eyes. "When I become Captain next week, I'm gonna try to get the higher ups to transfer you to my ship. I won't let you stay behind. I could imagine no better First Mate than you."
Grian blushed a little at the compliment. Sam had that way of always making him so cheerful with just a few words. "That would be really nice. I'd like to serve on your ship." He had looked up to Sam his whole life after all. Commandeering a ship alongside him would be like a dream come true.
"And now let me help you out a little, alright?"
"You shouldn't! If someone sees..."
"Nonsense. I might be an Officer, but I'm not above helping out a fellow crewmember."
Sam got onto his knees, picking up one of the cleaning rags and smiling up at Grian. "Now come on. If we do it together, we'll be done soon."
It took them both almost half an hour, but they were finally done. Grian wiped the sweat from his brow, looking to Sam with a satisfied smile. He opened his mouth to say something when he heard the sound of steps approaching. Sam jumped up hurriedly, hiding the cleaning rag behind his back just in time before the Captain walked around the corner.
"Officer Sam, Cadet Grian." The Captain looked from Grian on the floor to Sam and raised his eyebrows. "Officer Sam, I do hope for your own good that you didn't help with the chores.”
"No, sir! Of course not!"
"Because if you did I might need to write you up and that might delay your promotion so we can keep you here a little longer."
Grian could see the way Sam's hands tensed behind his back, clinging to the rag, which was hard prove of what he had just done. The Captain walked up to Sam and Grian acted on instinct. He hurried to his feet, pretending to knock the bucket over by accident, water hitting the Captain's shoes, who jumped back in surprise. Grian took the moment their Captain wasn't paying attention to rip the rag out of Sam's hand.
"So sorry, Captain! I didn't mean to do that! I am really sorry!"
The Captain looked at him furiously and then his eyes snapped back to Sam. "You two trying to hide something?", he spat and Sam took his hands out behind his back, raising him defensively in front of him. "I was just talking to Cadet Grian, I swear."
The Captain grumbled. Grian was pretty sure he knew that was a lie, but didn't care enough to call them out on it. "Leave now, Officer, before I change my mind!"
Sam looked at Grian, hesitating, but Grian shook his head a little. If Sam stayed back he'd only make it worse for both of them. With a last worried look, Sam saluted and walked away, probably back to his post.
"Cadet Grian! You will clean this mess at once."
"Yes, sir. Of course."
The Captain then eyed him from top to bottom, sneering at his dirty uniform.
"Cadet Grian... How many times do I need to tell you, that you have to keep yourself presentable. You are no longer a dirty orphan boy. The navy paid for your education, the least you could do is look nice and presentable to thank them."
"I'm sorry, sir, but it was..."
"Oh by the gods, I don't want to hear your whiny excuses again, Cadet! When you are done here, freshen up and then go to the kitchen. You are on potato peeling duty for tonight."
"But..."
"Also on pan cleaning duty after we are done. Don't make me take your food away as well."
Grian hesitated, but nodded. "Yes... sir."
"That'd be 'Thanks for letting me have dinner, sir.'" The Captain looked at him smugly, clearly enjoying the way he made Grian bow under him.
"Thanks for letting me have dinner... sir."
Grian didn’t dare to raise his head until the steps had retreated far enough. On days like these he wished he was still back at the navy academy. His teachers had always been nice to him, telling him he’d do great things in the future. He missed the days when Sam had come to his room to help him study. Here everybody seemed to think he’d gotten his good grades because of his looks after some nasty rumour about him being involved with his teachers had spread. But he’d pull through. Once Sam had his own ship he’d follow him. Everything would be better then.
~
Grian yawned, rubbing his eyes a little and then returned to scrubbing the pans. Everybody else on deck was laughing and having fun. His Lieutenant had decided that no help was needed for cleaning up, which meant Grian would spend half of the night in here to clean up everything. If he was lucky he’d get three hours of sleep before he needed to get up again. That was if the Captain or First Mate didn’t decide that he’d need more punishment.
He had hoped that maybe Sam would sneak in to help him out a little, but he probably hadn’t managed to find an excuse to get away. Grian hummed a little to himself, a tune that had been stuck in his mind since forever, that always raised his mood.
He just put in another pan, when a loud bang echoed over the ocean and their ship shook. The wooden basin Grian was using for cleaning tipped over, spilling some of the water over Grian. Damn he was going to be in trouble with his Captain again. What was going on up there? Did some idiot drink too much and fire one of the cannons again? Grumbling a little Grian put the cleaning rack into his back pocket and tried to heave the basin back up again.
There was another thundering sound and Grian could hear shouting and screaming. No. This wasn’t a drunken mistake. They were under attack. Grian ripped off his apron and ran up to the deck. The moment he opened the door, smoke entered his lungs and he began coughing. Parts of the deck were on fire, some of his crewmates already hurrying to put them out.
Another deafening boom of a cannon shook the deck. Grian turned his head into the direction it had come from. There was another ship, sailing parallel to them, all canons smoking. Grian’s gaze travelled up to the flag and his heart sank. A red flag pirate ship. This was going to be bad. Another cannon fired and hit their ship in the side, making it shake. Fuck. Grian needed to get ready and quick. He ran back under deck, cursing himself for not carrying his sword with him at all times. He had done it in the beginning, just as the rules stated, but everybody had kept teasing him about it.
Grian stepped out of the door and was already met with a sword. The pirates must have boarded the ship while he had been running for his weapon. Grian held his own weapon up in defence and began to engage in the battle. His eyes kept darting around, trying to find Sam in all of this chaos. They always fought best together and Sam was the only one Grian trusted 100 percent to have his back.
He skidded through the hallways, diving into his room and grabbing his trusted sword. It had helped him through many fights, it would do its job now once more.
“Protect me, Taurtis”, he whispered a little out of breath, touching the locket softly as he was running for the deck once more.
Grian managed to push his opponent back enough for him to hit the railing, and one shove with his elbow made him fly overboard. He suppressed the urge to shout for Sam, knowing that it might draw unwanted attention to himself. His eyes darted back and forth. There were multiple pirates on board now, fighting with his crew. He didn't dare to look too closely at the bodies on the floor. If they followed the principles of their red flag all of those men would be dead or dying. In the crowd his eyes were suddenly drawn to his Captain who was having a hard time fighting. Grian rushed over, but a guy stepped in his way, smiling brightly.
"I'd rather you look at me now, boy", his opponent said with an amused undertone, completely unbefitting of a battlefield. Grian’s head snapped back and he moved just in time to block one of the sword strikes. Unlike his first opponent, this guy was actually quite good at fighting and they were pretty evenly matched, especially with Grian's attention constantly being drawn to his Captain's battle. Why was nobody helping him? Where was the first mate? Where was Sam?
"I don't think so, boy. Give our Captains some private time", the pirate said in an amused tone, flipping his ponytail over his shoulder before pointing his weapon at Grian.
Grian looked past him and his heart fell. He recognised the opponent his Captain was facing. They all knew about him: Captain Doc. Grian had already heard about him when he'd still been in the academy. Raised by the frightening TFC, Doc had taken over his ship, swearing revenge on every human being for the death of his father.
"You are really starting to annoy me. You in love with my Captain or why do you keep looking over there?"
Grian felt fury rising inside him. He practically glowered at his opponent and with one elegant turn batted his sword away and rammed his elbow into the guy's face, making him stumble back a little.
There was a loud scream and suddenly Grian felt like everything was happening in slow motion. He turned his head to the side and saw the body of his Captain falling, blood spraying from his throat. Doc stood in front of him, bloody blade still raised. Everything seemed to stop for a moment as Doc looked emotionless at the fallen body. He then raised his head, looking around and for a second their eyes met. And then everything went back to normal speed as Grian's opponent came charging at him again and Grian had to defend himself.
"YOU BASTARD!"
A guttural scream echoed over the deck, and Grian would recognise that voice anywhere: Sam. Grian was being pushed back by his opponent, but he still couldn't focus his attention onto the battle. He kept looking sideways. Sam was running up to the fallen body of their Captain, murderous eyes on Doc. And then Sam raised his blade and charged Doc.
Grian's heart sank. Nobody had ever won a battle against Captain Doc. Nobody ever survived to tell about a battle fought against him. He froze, as images of Sam's bloody body flashed in front of his eyes, reminding him suddenly of Taurtis' death. A sudden pain in his right side brought him back to the present. He had been too slow and the blade of his opponent had scraped by his hip, leaving a bloody scratch. Grian cursed and hurriedly stepped back, blocking the next attack coming in. He needed to finish this. He needed to help Sam. He couldn't lose another friend. Sam was all he had left from his old life. The only good thing still here.
Grian felt determination rise inside him and he began relentlessly raining attacks upon his opponent, who looked at him in surprise, but then simply smiled enthusiastically, fighting just as fierce. Grian could hear Sam shouting insults at Doc, but the pirate stayed silent or just wasn't loud enough for Grian to hear. He kept listening to the insults but otherwise focused on his own fight. As long as Sam was shouting, he was alright. As long as he was shouting he was alive.
"You should just give up, boy. It is futile. Give up and I might let you live."
Grian huffed, looking with hatred at the pirate. "Sure thing, red flag", he spat out, watching the pirate pull a grimace at his words. Well look at that, a pirate not being happy with being called a murderer. Where was that dumb pirate pride of his?
A loud scream stopped his train of thoughts. Sam!
Grian's eyes drifted over and he saw Sam's blade sliding over the deck as he fell onto his back. Doc was slowly walking closer. Adrenalin rushed through Grian's body. When his opponent charged again Grian ducked under the blade and forgoing his own weapon, he used his free fist to punch the pirate square into the face. His opponent fell backwards and Grian ran off without one glance back.
Doc raised his blade. Sam was still on the floor.
A loud clang and Grian's whole arm was shaking as he blocked the attack by the Pirate Captain.
"Don't interrupt my duel." Doc's voice was a low threatening growl and it sent shivers down Grian's spine, but he stood his ground, glaring at the Captain.
Doc's gaze travelled to the side, furrowing his brows as his eyes landed on Grian's former opponent who leaned against the railing, holding his bloody nose.
"Ren, did you seriously let a little boy beat you? Tell me again why I made you my First Mate." The pirate – Ren – shrugged and gave his Captain a lop sided grin. Doc sighed and turned back to Grian, eyes searching him. "Interesting."
Grian knew he had to do something. He couldn’t let Doc end Sam’s life.
"I challenge you to a duel. If I win, you let the rest of the crew live", Grian said, trying to sound confident in the face of certain death. He couldn't care less for half of his crew, but he'd do anything to save Sam.
Doc smirked, sharp shark-like teeth showing, not a hint of joy in his face. "Oh, boy. No need to challenge me. I'll fight every single one of you if I have to. But do tell me what I'd gain from accepting that deal. What's in it for me?"
Grian faltered. He hadn't thought this far. In the navy, challenges like that would be accepted based on honour alone, but that seemingly mattered little to a pirate. What would he even have to offer?
"Scared to lose, pirate?"
"Never. I'm just curious what you think you have to offer to come in between me and my prey."
"If I lose I'll join you", Grian blurted out. Doc looked at him taken aback and then burst out laughing.
"And what makes you think, I'd want you?"
Grian shrugged. "Maybe the fact that I beat your First Mate without really paying attention to the fight." Okay maybe that was stretching it a little, but if it helped him get Doc to accept it didn't matter.
Doc's eyes travelled to Ren again, who was now fighting another one of Grian's crewmates, face still bloody.
"You got yourself a deal. When I win I'll take you and you get to watch me kill all of your little friends and if I get bored with you, I'll kill you off as well." Grian noticed the way Doc had talked about 'when' he would win, not 'if'. He swallowed. What made him think he could win against Doc, when nobody had ever managed that?
The fight started without any more warning. Doc was relentless, raining hit after hit upon him. Grian swore he could see sparks flying when their swords met. Unlike in the fight against Ren, he couldn't risk losing even a little part of his concentration. If he let his attention waver for even one second he'd lose in the blink of an eye.
Grian ground his teeth together and then started becoming more aggressive. If he just stayed defensive there was no way he'd be able to win. He needed to win. If he didn't then Sam would die. He couldn't bare watching another one of his friends die before his eyes.
Doc raised an eyebrow at him as Grian began hitting back, trying to find an opening for an attack. But Doc was always fast enough to block him, fluidly moving into a counter attack. Out of the corner of his eyes he noticed a few pirates watching them, no longer fighting. That meant nothing good for the rest of the crew. At least noone intervened, letting their Captain fight his battle on his own.
There was a whimper to the side, from one of the pirates and Grian noticed Doc's eyes filling with worry and darting to a white haired man for a second. Grian jumped at the opportunity immediately, blade flying forward. Doc's eyes snapped back to him at once and he hit the blade to the side, a grin on his face. And too late Grian realised that this had been a part of Doc’s strategy. Grian’s blade flew out of his hand, far off to the side. He hurriedly took a step back. Doc was grinning widely now, holding his blade up, pointing it straight at Grian's throat.
"Looks like I win. How naive of you to think a boy like you could win against me."
Grian's eyes were darting around hurriedly, looking for a way out, a way to win. He had no more weapons on him. The only thing he still had was...
Grian hurriedly moved, pulling the cleaning rag out of his back pocket. He wrapped the rag around his hand, movement hidden behind his back, heart beating like crazy. If this didn't work he was done for. And if it worked it might still hurt him beyond repair. All in all it was a stupid idea. Grian's eyes darted to Sam for a second. Sam who was being held to the floor by two pirates, probably so he couldn't intervene in their fight. With determination in his eyes, Grian turned back to Doc.
"Got a little knife hidden behind your back or something?", Doc taunted in amusement and then strode forward faster, raising his hand and bringing it down fast. Grian swallowed hard and sidestepped the attack. When the sword was right next to him, his arm shot out and he grabbed the blade with his wrapped hand, holding it in an iron grip. Doc had been so sure of his victory and just a second too slow to react. His grip wasn't as hard as Grian's and he couldn’t free his blade fast enough.
Instead of pulling as Doc most likely expected, Grian shoved hard, feeling the blade cutting into his skin, but he ignored the blinding pain. Doc seemed to stumble a little and Grian used the opportunity to kick at his legs, making the Captain fall backwards, pulling Grian with him. As they were falling he kept a tight grip on the blade and with one strong pull he managed to rip the blade out of Doc's grasp. In one fluid motion he turned the sword around, still holding onto the blade with his bleeding hand, the other hand grabbing onto the handle and when they landed he pressed the side of the blade under Doc's chin, sitting atop of the fallen Captain.
"One wrong move and I'll kill you, pirate."
Doc looked up at him out of breath, his eyes wide and full of surprise. For a moment they were just staring at each other as the deck fell into complete silence, the sounds of fighting and cheering coming to an abrupt end. A few seconds passed and then Grian heard hurried steps coming closer. His hands began shaking as he pressed the blade a bit harder against Doc's throat, drawing a bit of blood.
"Stop, Etho. Noone touch him."
The steps behind him stopped, but Grian was still on edge. Doc below him seemed to have recovered from his surprise and looked at him almost bored.
"What is your name, boy?"
"G... Grian."
Doc smirked at him, looking rather intrigued. "Grian, huh?" The way Doc rolled the name on his tongue, voice almost growling, made Grian falter, loosening the pressure of the blade a little. And suddenly a knee hit him in the stomach, as Doc threw him off, their positions switching, the blade back in Doc's hand. Doc was now the one leaning over him, looking down at him in deep thought. The sword was resting at Grian's throat, bound to kill him any moment.
~
"Should have killed me when you had the chance, Grian", Doc said with a smirk. Grian closed his eyes, expecting his life to end any second, but it didn't. When he was opening his eyes again, Doc was still looking at him as if he was thinking about something.
"Ren! Call our men back. We are leaving."
"You sure, Doc? You never…"
Doc still kept his eyes on Grian as he replied. "Grian and me had a deal after all. He won. We will leave." Doc leaned closer, his lips now right next to his ears as he lowered his voice to a whisper. "Mark my words, Grian. The next time we meet, I will kill you. Noone ever fights me and lives to tell the tale."
And as sudden as it came the pressure on Grian's neck was gone and Doc stood back up, leaving Grian lying on the floor. Grian stared after him as he went over to Ren and true to his words the pirates were leaving, one after the other jumping back onto their ship. Sam finally rushed over, helping him into a sitting position and firing a flurry of questions at him. But Grian couldn't hear anything, his whole attention still focused on the pirate Captain. Doc climbed the railing and turned around to look at him one more time, smirking devilishly and taking a bow, before taking a rope and swinging over to his own ship.
"Grian? Grian! Talk to me! Are you alright?"
With Doc gone Grian was slowly noticing everything else around him. The Deck was on fire, bodies lying everywhere. Sam was looking at him in worry and Grian nodded slightly. "You?"
Sam smiled and pulled him into a crushing hug.
"You are an idiot. You could have died!"
"Well, I'm glad I'm an idiot or I would have lost you."
The following days seemed to pass in a blur, so many things happening all at once, almost overwhelming Grian. It was a wonder they had managed to make their way back to the navy headquarters with the state their ship had been in after the battle, but they did. The casualties of the fight had been high. The ship's first mate had miraculously survived without even one drop of blood on him, taking over the Captain's position of their ship at once. Grian had been forced to go to the hospital as soon as they had returned. Luckily for him the doctor there had been able to fix his hand, but had told him that the wound would leave behind a scar he'd carry forever.
Grian's eyes searched the crowd of navy soldiers as he stepped into a huge room, slowly walking over the walkway left open in the middle. His eyes landed on Sam, smiling back at him, looking all dashing in his brand new Captain's uniform. Grian returned the smile and stepped up a few stairs towards an admiral, stopping in front of the old man and saluting.
The admiral pinned a medal to the lapel of Grian's brand new uniform and his stoic expression disappeared as he smiled at Grian proudly.
"Congratulations. You are the rising star of the navy... Lieutenant Grian."

i literally got into this fandom like 3 weeks ago so there's some stuff i don't really understand. can you please explain what is the watchers au i've seen on your blog?
Alright so I’ll admit I’m not the most knowledgeable about it, so I went to the awesome @give-grian-rights for help and she wrote this out:
Watchers are essentially a demi-god like creature within Minecraft fan lore, more specifically MCYT fan lore, stemming from Grian. Grian was in an SMP called Evo, a server with a handful of members starting out in the first version of Minecraft which allowed multi-players. Hints, clues and scavenger hunts were littered across their world, they had to piece together clues to locate a portal which would lead them to the next game version, progressing through going through tasks while doing so. That's where the concept of Watchers came from, beings watching the actions of the Evolutionists and either rewarding or punishing them based on their actions throughout the server. Mazes, experiments, etc were all done to attempt to get an understanding of, well,, the players sense of self, and how they react.
By the time the Evolutionists reached the version which introduced The End, they had been told through a series of messages throughout their world that they needed to fight the Enderdragon as soon as they could. When they arrived, Grian was split from the rest and had to fight the dragon by himself, with the others no where in sight. When he jumped through the portal, the Watchers addressed us, the audience, and the Evolutionists. Grian was taken to join their ranks. People have done with this whatever they can think of, as it leaves a lot of possibilities! Why was he taken? Did he know this was gonna happen? Did he agree to it? Why him? How do they treat him? How does he feel about them, after a series full of going against their word and distrust? That's when Fanon and AUs come into play!
~~~
Ok so heres the au bit, from what ive gathered from Mika’s blog. Again, she’s the one that created all of them. :D
Basically in this au, Tubbo and Tommy get kidnapped by the watchers. In one version, Taurtis watches Tubbo and Grian watches Tommy.
In another version, the watchers get sick of dealing with Tommy and send him back to the Dream SMP. At that point, he’s been missing for roughly 5 months so wilbur is pretty shocked to see him. However, the Watchers erased all of his memories of the past 5 months. And that includes memories of Tubbo.
In the last version, the Watchers wiped all of Tommy’s memories and put them in Tubbo. So now Tommy has zero memory of anything and Tubbo has gone slightly insane from the overwhelming amount of memories.
If you’ve got any more questions, don’t be afraid to ask!
( A Grian fanfic that Sam went to another school leaving Grian and Taurtis to do their own thing, they went to a new highschool and there is it more normal, yet Grian has a little plan to see if he does feel any empathy for people and their family)
( Ps and old fic that I made that I wanted to share and also me trying to write an sociopath :|  )
( Contains blood mention, death, Sam mentioned )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm not crazy, i'm fine was looking in my kitchen. I was searching for... My knife. A special knife~.  I needed to do some... Dirty work today. Maybe that could give me some feeling, feeling of guilt, or happiness, regret, empathy. Real feelings. That, I don't understand. But at the same time, why are these feelings so important? Does it portrait who you are? Does it make your life better? Does it help through out your life? It doesn't matter, I know what i'm doing and nobody can stop me. I'm surprised that I didn't do this earlier. Anyways I just don't need witnesses, right? There it is, it was a dull cheap knife. I don't need to make it fast, if it's fast it makes it boring. If it's slow then you can hear more screams. That would be more enjoyable. Death. I gave a tin smile at my knife, ''kill'' I huffed. ''After school''. ''Just need to ask somebody out then i'll get em, easy!'' I told myself.
At highschool I was pretty popular, charming and beautiful, I heard rumors about people liking me, having a crush on me. The only use of these people who like me is to make them my 'friend', who does everything for me. Like 'friends'. Ofcourse lot's of people would want to know what I think about people liking me. They'd ask my opinion about that, I just give a bright smile and say 'It's nice to know people like me!' Then walk away with a happy smile. But, I don't care who likes me, I don't care if they lie, because they are worthless in the end. I'm the only important one, nobody else matters. People are easy to read. I grab my bag and put my knife safe under my stuff. I have never really been good at cutting, so I wonder what-, how that is going to happen. What does happen when they die? Yet, I don't care I just give them a fast way out. My bag had everything that I needed, I had my uniform on. I look at my reflection in the mirror. An empty pale person was looking back at me. I had pretty light skin color, but I wouldn't say pale. I'm just a little cold, I rub both of my hands against eachother. Warming up my hands. Then I put my hands on my cheeks, a bit of color came back on my face. There I look better, I gave my brightest smile. A bright smile to start the day. I didn't had food, so I'm just going to flatter Taurtis a bit and eat with him. Easy. I open my front door, I let my door unlocked but I do close it. Taurtis lived on another street but close. I quietly walk and observed good at my surroundings, to find the perfect place, a good place where no people would be nor camera's. A quiet place, maybe I could just make it simple, at my home. I also had some other people I don't mind to hang out with. But I wouldn't want to hurt Taurtis I need him for other dirty works, and he's to only sane one like me to do that. Together. I saw some couples and people walk around some people glanced at me, some said hello. I rang the bell of Taurtis's home, he lived alone like me, no parents and such. Sad that he doesn't really think like I do, I think if I meet Sam ever again, i'll maybe hang out with him more than Taurtis. I realized how much we think alike. I'm not sorry Taurtis I just do what is needed. What's best FOR ME. The door opened, ''O-OH, hey Grian~'', Taurtis smiled sweetly. I smiled at him, ''Hey Taurtis~'' I say in a seductive way, I lean against the jamb of the door, so he can't close the door on me. I saw Taurtis face full of surprised but then soften into a shy face. ''Could you do a favor for me, it would make me really happy!'', I smiled. People are stupid sometimes. They get to invested to other people needs they forget their own. ''O-ofcourse!'' Taurtis stuttered a bit at the begin but so happy. Ha, Idiot.  Me and Taurtis are pretty short but are even tall. ''Alright...'' I grab his hands and go inside, ''..Let's have breakfast together'' Then I close the door. ''O-okay I'll make it!'' Taurtis says excited. I sit on one of his chairs at the dining table. ''How's 'ya day?'' I asked. While Taurtis was busy with making breakfast he talked about what he dreamed and talked about how he feels about other students. ''Hey Grian, do you like somebody?'' He suddenly ask. ''I feel like I like everyone as my friend!'' I say. Taurtis chuckled, ''No dummy I mean like crush!''.  ''Nah'' I say, ''What about you, Taurtis~'' I teased him. ''W-WHA, I don't like a-anyone!'' Taurtis tried his best, to not give it away but that made it easier. ''Alright, I won't ask mister easy see through''. I laughed at him. Taurtis groaned annoyed, ''Look do you still wan't your food?''. ''Okay, okay I'll stop- for now'', Taurtis sighed. I forced a laugh. Taurtis gave me some tea, he knew that I like tea. Taurtis made some Miso soup with tofu. He puts first the plate for me, ''Ohh! That looks so good!'' I compliment him. Taurtis looked happy about that.I got an random person with me we talked for a while. The girl had short brown hair and a cyan highlight that didn't fit her at all. I went to the back ally. Where my dumpsters ''Hey can you help me for a bit!'' I shout. I got my knife ready. ''Okay Grian!'' The female cheered. I hid, she walked outside, ''...Grian?'' The woman said worried while she looked around, I grabbed her from behind, covered her voice. I had my knife next to her neck, ''Don't worry i'll make this slow so you can enjoy your last moments'' I said cold; I let my dull knife slowly slice her neck, she suddenly tried to get out, she duck her nails in my hand, trying to get free. I didn't bother, I can cover it... I dug my knife deeper in her neck, nobody can safe her, I know it. ''I hope you enjoyed our time together'', I whisper, I could hear her screams under my hand... Then it stopped, her screaming stopped, her body relaxed let go of me. emotionless I let go of her... It was pretty satisfying? Now I need to do something with this body. I grab a bag, And tried to make her so little as possible. And she fit, but it wasn't a pleasant pose. But it doesn't matter, she's dead, and nobody would know. I smile smug. I grabbed the bag and put it in my house and went in and grab my cleaning supplies. Need to clean this blood on the ground because, you can't have evidence, right? That's important cause if you wanna do more what people call 'crimes', I wouldn't call it crimes if life let you allow to do that... The blood was cleaned up now the body. I go to the further dumpster, from another house so even if they found it, it wasn't my house. So no proof and at this time nobody was around. It's already dark because it was Autumn. The street lamps where already on. I suddenly get a call while throwing the body, fuck. Why Taurtis, why now. Why did I had the sound on? Now I just give more attention. My clothes where still bloody. Because I don't want my new clothes smell like trash or DEAD body. So I just want to be done with it. I grab my phone and decline. Good that's better, I hope that doesn't happen again I don't want to get more attention while doing something that people call 'Illegal' so. I fast run back home, and closes the door shut. Again, I didn't feel bad for her, maybe because I never talked to her much, maybe I need to do to somebody who is 'close' to me. Maybe then I will feel something for them. I went for an shower. Then put on a onesie that was related to a fox. It was surprising how it still fitted me because when I was still with Sam we had a onesie night. I had a fox, Sam a bunny ofcourse he was overlapping his bunny hat, then Taurtis with a panda onesie that we made fun of him. Then Taurtis did a: No u, on me. And a fast short up what happend: we almost suffocated Taurtis with a pillow. But some nice comfy clothes and tea can make the day more enjoyable. My hair was still wet, because of the shower but it will get dry fast. I didn't need a hair dryer. In the air was still the rotten smell of flesh, that wanted to make me vomit. I need to get some fresh air here inside. I should open a window. Right when I put my tea on the table my phone rang again. I grabbed my phone. I sit on my couch, clicked on the green button. ''Hey, hey!'' I say, I grab my cup of tea of the table. ''Taurtis here!'', ''Yeah?'' ''Is she still here?'' He asked, ''No, she left sometime, needed to go home''.  ''OH, did you enjoy it!'' , he teased me with an romantic voice. ''Hm, she's okay I guess'' ''That's not an answer!'', ''Oh and why did you decline?'' He said, about me not answering the phone. ''I was about to go in the shower'' I said empty sounded than I intended too.  ''You could atleast talk to me before you showered!'', He said irritated.   ''Your calls would last for hours Taurtis'', I chuckle.  ''No it wouldn't! Maybe..'' ''Ehehe, your so funny Taurtis'', The atmosphere around me was cold and empty, like something bad happend around here, and it did. We talked for a while then we had to wrap it up. What is going to happen the next day?
I woke up, did all the important stuff, but I still didn't buy food, yesterday I just only ate snacks, no dinner. Now i'm really hungry, and I want to eat, so like yesterday, i'm going to flatter Taurtis and then he won't mind making breakfast again. Maybe we can have a sleepover, so he can make food for me. Good idea me! I grabbed my bag, I walked through the streets, I saw somebody hanging posters on the walls, ''Missing: Suko Yaeko, call: 31xxxxxxxx if found.'' There was an picture of the female. Brown short hair, with a blue hairlight and brown eyes. She's missing, sad that they'll never find her, unless they'll look through the trash. Whatever, I have perfect excuses. I just need to burn my knife so nobody can find out that i've killed her. I for a moment looked at the person who hanged up the poster. It looked like a female that is much older than me maybe in her thirties. Hn, i'm keeping my eye on her, if she ruins something then.. I tin smiled at the posters fast, I walk faster.. I walk at the street of Taurtis. I knocked on his door, and waited this time he was what slower.. I sighed deeply, then the door opened that caught me of guard. ''Grian!'' Taurtis say excited, ''Well, here I am, what are your other two wishes?'' I flirt. Taurtis face was getting crimson red, ''W-what!?'' That was the only thing that came out of his mouth. ''Eheh, I just want to make sure my friend is doing okay, since he might be scared a little to walk alone'';.. Could you just let me inside already! GOD. ''Pff, why would I be scared?'', he gave an annoyed sigh, but I could tell he was nervous for the answer. ''Well, that girl from yesterday went missing..'' I said, and walked past Taurtis and went to his kitchen and sat on the chair that I also sat yesterday. ''O-oh, tell me more'', Taurtis said, and raised his eyebrow. He sat down, then his stomach growled, ''Sorry I just wanted to make breakfast..'' he frowned. ''Totally cool, can you make it also for me, sweetheart'', Taurtis eyes wend wide, ''Ofcourse for you!!'', he went straight to the kitchen, and started to look around, ''Would you tell more?''. Taurtis said. ''Okay, i just saw posters about her missing'', I heard Taurtis making a okay noise so I continued. ''I think she went missing yesterday, since when somebody is missing on that day, the next day they'll report it to the people and start their search.''. ''Ohh, what do you think what happend to her since you where probably the last one who saw her, wait Grian..'' He turned around to me, ''What?'' I say confused and frowned. ''Are you sure you weren't apart of it!'', I shook my head, Taurtis shouldn't know, even if Taurtis was apart with murders and such, he shouldn't know. I can't trust him because he can turn his back at me in any moment unless I blackmail him. Not yet Grian, not yet.  ''No, not this time, she wanted to walk alone to home'', I say confident. Taurtis expression change from suspicion to relaxed, and smiled, ''Good'' and went back to his food. He's to easy to lie to, I don't need to even try. He didn't change at all.I sat in class until somebody open the door of the class and asked for me, so I walked with the person, I saw some people gave me smiles, or worried stares. But I wasn't worried, I can easy do anything that they want me to do. I sat across some police officers, and they asked me questions about the girl what I did yesterday with her and if I noticed anything weird with her and about our relation and such.      Most was easy answer, and I didn't even feel bad for her family. After that I went straight back to class, then when class was over. Taurtis went straight to me. '' What did they say??'' Then some other people also went to me. Sometimes being popular is annoying, everyone know's your name and if something happens to you everyone will know but everyone loves you and listens, and do what you want. But if your bit more in the background, most people wont know your name, either hate's you or just don't need you, you'll be known as the quiet kid and a easy target... But I guess it doesn't matter since i'm now here with my goals. I wonder when Taurtis notice that I don't really like him and use him for things, like Sam always did. Yet he doesn't know it. Sam 'loves' Taurtis, no he doesn't he only love him cause he can feel complete with him that's it.
That's it.

G rambling
Honestly i wanted to do a collab with g the moment I stepped out of the portal and saw him standing on the island in that big goofy sweater. He hadn't even started to roll it up yet, just let the long sleeves dangle over his hands. The absolute goof was so nervous about joining everyone, and I wish i had stepped up first to help him.
But watching him start working on his base was like watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly. He just instantly fell into his element.
All the little pranks and jokes and games he started were very much needed for everyone. Hes one of the reasons we all had a lowered stress level for the season.
The first time I got to properly hang out with him was after the civil war when we went end busting together. And I think thats the official moment i fell for him, watching him loop around the chorus fruit and fly circles around the different end cities. There were several times i would kind of zone out watching him (which is how he beat me loot wise) and im sure he probably thought i was weird.
Then there was the whole jangler thing, and im still surprised he figured it out so quickly and easily. Doc and I had absolutely 0 clue who it was. (And i mean the way the cookie in the sky was built should have been a MASSIVE give away come on). Hes so much smarter than he lets on, and its all the better of a surprise when he exceeds someone's expectations.
Im forever grateful that the stupid renbob joke was what made him decide to ask me for help with the whole hippie thing (and it totally had nothing to do with me having intimate knowledge about doc)
The whole hippie thing was where we really started to get to know each other better. Where we'd sit in the grass at night watching the stars and he'd braid my hair while i played guitar. Where naming mushrooms is a normal friend activity and sleeping in the same rv could still be a close friends thing.
And when Impulse joined us i instantly got him alone and asked his advice. Explained the whole thing to him and just said "what do i do to see if this is a friend thing or a live thing?" And Impukse and i brainstormed the concert idea
G had no idea what we were building up until impulse was setting up all the technical stuff and i was adding decorations and getting the hippilagers to the audience area.
Impulse ran the sound system while i (and a couple of villager musicians) went through everything like a normal concert, G front and center watching (and scar and doc several rows back pretending they weren't enjoing themselves)
I gave impulse the signal, broke out the ukulele, and started up with the plan. Singing Dodie's Would You Be So Kind directly to G, finally letting go of my anxiety as i confessed through song.
And when he took my hand and jumped up onto the stage to dance with me i was so happy. A big ol sappy moment where we kissed at the end of the song.
From that point on he was more touchy feely; always holding my hand or arm, playing with my hair (and ears), literally dropping in to give me surprise kisses and then fly off again. It was like opening the floodgates to affection city.
And going back to alpha made g panic. He had admitted to me once that he had been in love before, but had lost them at the hands of something he didnt understand. And he was terrified of losing me as well. When impulse created the portal to hop to the next version, i got stuck.
And for over a year i was in this kind of void parallel world, standing next to them, but not actualky their on the same plane of existence.
I watched grian grieve my loss, watched him lose Impulse too, watched him relive the past world he came from, the one he didnt like to talk about.
I tried to make jokes, to tell him i was still there. And it kind of worked.
And when Taurtis appeared i afraid g would stay with him, refuse to go onto the next versions so that he couldnt lose this love. But he was strong. Knew what had to happen.
So when Taurtis left, g didn't blame "the watchers" didnt blame me and impulse because he understood that you cant mess with a timeline.
He became a lot more somber after that, working hard to get the group to the end portal to fight the dragon.
And watching him fight the dragon i remebered end busting with him and how he told me he had slain it before, but in a less advanced society. In a world where it was easier. We all figured out that the power of slaying the dragon would be enough to reuinite him with us.
And suddenly we were back in hermitcraft like nothing had happened. And g wouldnt let go of me and impulse. When he blew up the bootleg time machine, he wouldn't stop holding me, couldnt stop crying into my jacket.
We watched Scar and Doc announce area 77 as an amusement park, and G broke even more. We all did. Everything we had been through was pointless.
Impulse ran back to the commune and licked himself in his rv. G couldnt stop the panic attacks he was having. And me? I felt empty, the purple streak in my hair glowing in the night felt like the only proof of what we had been through.
The next morning G got us together. Told us we were going into area 77, and stealing the infinity portal. He realized that was how Doc was getting people back, and he wanted to try to get Taurtis to join. I was worried, but at this point we were all fueled by spite and rage so we went through with it.
Making it there we had no idea how to move the portal, and G accidently broke it. Doc wasnt mad. In fact he figured we'd probably try to steal it. The whole time we were gone he had been watching and examining the changes in time/space as well as monitering the new layer of reality that seemed to appear and dissapear quickly.
Doc and G worked together to see if there was a way to get Taurtis to our world.
And it broke g's heart to hear that there wasn't.
And for a while i was scared he wouldnt want to be with me anymore, but instead he rubbed his face with his sweater sleeve, and asked if i wanted to start a new project with him.
A big fancy british castle with horses and fake butlers. For "Alfred Griansworth" and "Nigel Renfeather"
But really it was an excuse to basically live together for the rest of the season.

Vampire Grian x human Taurtis head cannons please. (Also you make best headcannons fight me)
Meet me behind Denny’s/j
-Grian would try drinking blood from Taurtis but get blocked by garlic bread by Taurtis
-As a normal person, Taurtis loves garlic bread before he met Grian so he uses it as a sheild sometimes
-(I don’t know if vampires in this are chill to be around or an enemy soo—) Taurtis was fascinated by Grian and asks him a lot of questions about being a vampire
-Grian likes the attention and would try his best to answer the questions fully or demonstrate
-Grian didn’t know he was touched starved until Taurtis hugged him, so now everytime Taurtis gets ready for the day Grian clings onto him on the back (either human or a bat)
-Taurtis didn’t mind but threatened to use his sheild if Grian tries biting him
-They did set up boundaries about the blood stuff, but if it seems like Grian isn’t getting enough properly then Taurtis would help him out
-Once they grew comfortable with each other they took a step further and built a pillow fort to watch movies in
-It was the greatest idea they has ever thought of together
-When they wanted to go out somewhere to hang out, they take a stroll at night or go night swimming
