Maybe the problem with Christian fiction is that it's non-denominational. People are just "Christian", with no effort put into showing what practicing that religion looks like for them specifically. No indication that there are other Christians who could have different beliefs. No wrestling with differing ideas and the struggle of how one should live out their Christian faith. And that makes it unrealistic and unrelatable.

Danver’s specific brand of racism is so intrenched in love it’s fascinating. Her daughter is precious to her and her daughter is Indigenous and in this town, an Indigenous woman is not viewed as a precious thing. They are abused and raped and murdered and therefore, being white is the ‘better’ choice. She is actively whitewashing her daughter, not only because she’s afraid of what she doesn’t understand and because of typical coloniser mentality, but because she doesn’t want to lose her. Danvers can’t distance Indigenous identity from white violence and it’s killing what she loves.

as i hear what more and more people's tasks were, i'm sort of fascinated by JUST HOW MANY tasks this session were like... meta-tasks? like, tasks about making other people think you have a specific task, or having people figure out what your task is, or having people call you out on a task, or give you a task, or mimicking someone else's task... like, there were a number of more "standard" tasks too but it's FASCINATING to me how many tasks are just. about tasks? its only four sessions in guys why are all the tasks so meta,
