Name: Alexandra Durand (known as Alex Bennett) Species: Werewolf Occupation: Studying Wildlife Ecology at UMWR Age: 21 Years Old Played By: Han Face Claim: Sadie Sink
TW: Parental Death
“I’d rather bet the black sheep of the family than the big bad wolf.”
Like any kid from a prominent hunter family, it was expected that Alexandra Durand would be holding a knife with ease by the time she was walking and talking. It wasn’t for a lack of trying on her parents’ end that the lessons didn’t seem to stick with Alexandra like they had with her older sister Andrea. Even at a young age, Alexandra could tell this wasn’t a good difference and began compensating to make up for it.
Sure, she couldn’t seem to hear what was coming the same way her family did. Cuts and scrapes seemed to take longer to heal and she just couldn’t relate to that skin-crawling feeling they described in the presence of beasts. But she could pay attention to the hunters around her, learn their tells. Maybe she couldn’t hear someone coming behind them from a block away, but that praise her parents gave when she seemed to notice only because Alexandra picked up on her sister hearing something was enough for her to keep it going.
So, Jean and Marie Durand did what any responsible hunter parents would do and continued Alexandra’s training. This was what led the family deep into the Smoky Mountains on Alexandra’s 7th birthday for a survival training trip. She learned how to make fires and set up camp with her mom while Andrea focused on fighting training with their dad. All was going according to plan until a pack of werewolves who had a vendetta against the Durand parents crashed the trip.
It all happened in a blur and before Alexandra could fully process what was happening, Andrea was whisking her away from the scene as the wolves tore into their parents. If it wasn’t for the aching bite wound in her side, Alexandra would have sworn it was just a dream. Things in the hunter world were never that rose-tinted though; Alexandra’s parents were dead and the sisters were being sent off to France to live with their aunts and cousins.
The whole near month spent in Lyon had left Alexandra particularly reclusive. While she wasn’t old enough to understand much, she knew what a bite from a werewolf meant for non-hunters. But she was a hunter even if she wasn’t a very good one. So she tried to forget about it. Unfortunately, when the next full moon rolled around, there was no fighting Alexandra’s transformation.
Yet again, Andrea was fleeing with her younger sister, not trusting that her aunt wouldn’t try to “take care of the werewolf problem” in a more final way. After riding out the rest of Alexandra’s transformation, Andrea was sneaking them back to the States with stolen credit cards and forged papers with the names Andy and Alex Bennett. They spent the next few years living on the road out of a stolen junkyard car until they finally settled into a town called Wicked’s Rest. There was enough strangeness in the town that a hunter and a werewolf could fly by relatively underneath the radar.
Eventually, the sisters built their own lives and now Alex remains in Wicked’s Rest with her cousin Kaden. While she still struggles with her hunter upbringing and living as a werewolf, there’s no place quite like this strange town to find a good place to fit in, though there is always the worry that her family’s past may catch up with her.
Character Facts:
Personality: Perceptive, prideful, sensitive, jealous, stubborn, insecure, generous, protective, sociable to an extent
Growing up in a French American family, Alex speaks both English and French fluently.
Since Andy and Alex spent a good chunk of their life being dirt-poor, Alex has become especially good at shoplifting without getting caught... or at least being able to outrun anyone chasing her if she does get caught.
Turning into a werewolf came with a big amount of pent-up nervous energy that Alex channels into a variety of sports. She plays on the soccer team at UMWR and is almost always down for a scrimmage match.
Alex’s favorite food is Spaghetti-Os straight from the can.
While Alex never excelled at the combat aspects of her hunter training, her survival and first aid skills are fine tuned. Because of this, she’s taken an internship at Wicked’s Rest State Park and one day hopes to become a full time park ranger.

ALEXA PENAVEGA AND NICHOLAS BISHOP STAR IN ‘A PARIS PROPOSAL, A NEW, ORIGINAL MOVIE PREMIERING FEBRUARY 11, ON HALLMARK CHANNEL
Part of the Network’s Annual “Loveuary”® Programing Event
Shot Partially on Location in the City of Light
STUDIO CITY, CA – January 23, 2023 – Alexa PenaVega (“Love in the Limelight,” XXX) and Nicholas Bishop (“Industry”) star in “A Paris Proposal,” a new, original movie premiering Saturday, February 11 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel as part of the network’s annual “Loveuary”® programming event. The movie shot partially on location in Paris and features iconic locations.
Anna (PenaVega) is an account manager for a New York City advertising agency who has the opportunity to land the biggest client of her career – Durand Diamonds. Much to her chagrin, her boss dispatches her and her colleague Sebastian (Bishop) to the City of Light to make the pitch and seal the deal. Anna’s by-the-books work style clashes with Sebastian’s looser approach and over-the-top ideas that dazzle the client but exceed budget realities that land them in hot water. Not only that, but Paris holds painful memories for her since that’s where she and her now ex-husband honeymooned at the start of their brief, one-year marriage. When they arrive in Paris to meet with the client, a misunderstanding leads the Durands to believe Anna and Sebastian are married, making them excited about the prospect of having real-life couple in charge of the creative vision for their brand. As they work on their campaign pitch and try to keep up appearances of being a happy couple – which becomes more complicated when Sebastian’s family becomes involved – they begin to learn about each other and the most romantic city in the world just might be working its magic. But when the truth about their relationship, or lack thereof, comes to light will this mean the end of their professional partnership as well as their budding romance?
“A Paris Proposal” is from Hallmark Media. Cameron Johann is executive producer. Producers are Jeffery Beach, Phillip Roth and Kristina Kambitova. Sufo Evtimov is line producer. Jessica Harmon directed from a script by Andrea Canning.

REVIEW
The Rush by Michelle Prak
Jumping from one group to another to set the stage for what is supposed to be a suspenseful thrilling read is what I believe the author was set on achieving. I have to say that I had trouble relating to any of the characters or the situations they found themselves in but was invested enough to skim through to see what would happen to the woman who finds a man in need of care, four people on the road together, and a woman manning the pub on her own. And what will happen when the three different storylines intersect kept me skimming though not reading word for word. There was a twist within the twist at the end of the story, there were some rather horrible characters to be dealt with, there were some evil actions taken by more than one, and at one point I thought of past true crime stories I have read of or seen on the news. The closing seemed a bit of a soft landing after the rather gritty chapter that preceded it but all in all it was an okay if not gripping read. I know that many will love this story even though it was not for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Crooked Lane for the ARC – This is my honest review.
2-3 Stars
BLURB
In this riveting psychological thriller—perfect for fans of Jane Harper’s The Survivors and Erica Ferencik’s Into the Jungle—a ferocious storm in the Australian Outback sets the stage for betrayal and murder. With a massive downpour and flash floods predicted, Quinn Durand leaves work and races for the safety of home. The first drops start to fall as she spots something strange on the familiar bush route. With no reception and nothing but an empty road for miles in either direction, she investigates and discovers it’s a body, dumped by the side of the road. When she approaches to check for signs of life, an arm reaches out and grabs her. Back at the country pub where Quinn lives, her boss Andrea has prepared for the torrential downpour. She's bunkered down with her toddler son sleeping in the back room when she’s startled by a banging at the door. It's a biker, seeking shelter from the punishing storm. Meanwhile, out on the roads, two young couples on their way across the country struggle against the lashing rains. Tensions rise as they realize that they don’t really know each other, nor are they remotely prepared for the storm. Alone, angry, and afraid in unfamiliar surroundings, flooding isn’t the only threat bearing down on them. Chilling, tense, and twisted, this multi-POV popcorn thriller is “compelling and explosive; you won’t be able to put this book down” (Hayley Scrivenor, author of Dirt Town).

Name: Andrea Durand (Known as Andy Bennett) Species: Hunter (Ranger) Occupation: Baker’s Assistant (The Bread Cemetery) Age: 27 Years Old Played By: Ci Face Claim: Luca Hollestelle
"At this point I can’t tell if it’s selflessness or selfishness. Guess that’s for somebody else to decide."
TW: Parental death
As the oldest daughter, Andrea felt the weight of her parent’s expectations heavy upon her shoulders. It was due to her younger sister, Alexandria, that the weight did not crush her. Andrea lived up to the title of older sister far better than she lived up to that of experienced ranger. Though, when looking at it from an outside perspective, Andrea was miles ahead of her sister in terms of training and retention. What drive Andrea lacked in feeling malice towards the monsters her parents spoke of, she made up for in the fierce protectiveness of her sister. Even at her young age, Andrea understood that there was a certain horror in devotion.
Andrea had heard the whispers, her mother and father behind closed doors speaking on Alexandria’s lack of ability. Though, Andrea believed that they just hadn’t given her enough time to show what she was truly capable of. After all, she was only a child. But hadn’t she been a child once, her own skills showing though effortlessly? After a while, Andrea found herself making excuses, hopeful to dissuade her parents from believing that the youngest in their family was defective. In tandem with those excuses, Andrea provided her younger sister with a careful guidance, noting the way that she was watched in moments where their parents’ expectations came to light. At least she wasn’t unaware.
It was a trip to the Smoky Mountains that changed everything. One moment, Andrea was sparring with her father, and the next, he was gone. Her mother, too. In the bloodshed, the sisters managed to escape, but not without a few bumps and bruises, and to Andrea’s horror– a bite. The fear and exhaustion accompanied them on their journey from Tennessee to Lyon, France. Andrea watched as Alexandria dissolved into the shadows. Guilt dug its claws into her in a number of ways, but due to the nature of their purpose, Andrea had very little time to mourn the life she lost in Tennessee, and instead had to push through, resuming training with her cousins.
Andrea had considered herself to be a lot of things, but never a traitor to those who had raised her. Or rather, the ideals they enforced. She thought herself to be a ranger through and through, unlike her sister. The competitive spirit her father wanted to grow throughout her so badly waned as she realized that her sister could not participate in those same ways. Maybe that was the beginning of the end for Andrea Durand. But what she did know was that she was not a traitor to blood. The moment that her sister shifted– giving way to the bite that was not supposed to infect her, Andrea knew they had to leave.
It was not easy, collecting the funds or the documents to escape back to the United States, but after making a deal with a few faces from the underbelly of Lyon, Andrea and Alexandria arrived in the states under the names of Andy and Lexi Bennett. It took years of travel, theft, and general con-artistry, but eventually, the sisters landed themselves in Wicked’s Rest.
Over the years while at her sister’s side, Andy grew used to the inescapable creeping feeling, so much so that when approached by other beast-like creatures in Wicked’s Rest, it’s fairly easy to ignore. Though she has no drive to continue hunting or “putting down” evil, both for the sake of her sanity as well as the safety of her sister, she has continued training in a number of ways to ensure that she is able to protect Lexi. There is always the fear, however– is she the most dangerous thing for her sister?
Character Facts:
Personality: Empathetic, protective, responsible, adaptable, uncomplaining, disorganized, meddlesome, paranoid, vulnerable, vindictive
Can speak French fluently and understands some Latin.
She has an old butterfly knife that her mom gifted her on her 7th birthday that she still carries around to this day. Instead of using it for violence, she tends to use it for when she’s restless, teaching herself new tricks every now and again.
Has a younger sister who didn't inherit hunter abilities and was bit by a wolf and turned. Andy’s entire life has revolved around her sister, and honestly there isn’t room for much more.

Hallmark to Premiere Six Romantic Movies in February: See the Schedule
Tumblr media
HALLMARK CHANNEL'S "LOVEUARY"
All premieres are at 8 p.m. ET/PT, unless otherwise noted.
Sweeter Than Chocolate Starring: Eloise Mumford, Dan Jeannotte and Brenda Strong Premieres: Saturday, Feb. 4 A local bakery is rumored to have the secret recipe to finding true love on Feb. 14, drawing in a TV reporter to investigate.
A Paris Proposal Starring: Alexa PenaVega and Nicholas Bishop Premieres: Saturday, Feb. 11 Anna (PenaVega) is an account manager for a New York City advertising agency who has the opportunity to land the biggest client of her career -- Durand Diamonds. Much to her chagrin, her boss dispatches her and her colleague Sebastian (Bishop) to the City of Lights to make the pitch and seal the deal. Anna’s by-the-books work style clashes with Sebastian's looser approach and over-the-top ideas that dazzle the client but exceed budget realities that land them in hot water. When they arrive in Paris to meet with the client, a misunderstanding leads the Durands to believe Anna and Sebastian are married, making them excited about the prospect of having real-life couple in charge of the creative vision for their brand and forcing them to try to keep up appearances.
Valentine, Nebraska Starring: Kathryn Davis and Markian Tarasiuk Premieres: Saturday, Feb. 18 It’s a week away from Valentine’s Day and Olivia (Davis) loses both her boyfriend and her job in the same week. Her sister Vanessa, who still lives in their hometown in Nebraska, convinces Olivia to come back home for an extended trip and help get her back on her feet. Olivia's roommate in New York has a friend, George (Tarasiuk), who's driving out to Los Angeles and agrees to take Olivia to her destination -- which is exactly halfway between New York and California -- in exchange for a free night's stay in her hometown. Olivia, low on cash after her layoff, agrees to take turns driving so he can get to Los Angeles in less than five days. The two strangers set out on the open road, both on their way to being who they think they're supposed to be. When George's car breaks down mere miles from Olivia's hometown, he has to stay a few more days in Valentine, Nebraska with Olivia and her sister. After spending so much time together, the two realize that their priorities might have changed, and love is what truly matters.
Made for Each Other Starring: Alexandra Turshen, Matt Cohen, Aaron O'Connell and Illeana Douglas Premieres: Saturday, Feb. 25 A sculptor (Turshen) uses magic to mold her ideal man (O’Connell) into reality but begins to fall for her real-life friend (Cohen) and embraces the flaws that make love perfectly imperfect.
HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES
All premieres are at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Curious Caterer: Grilling Season Starring: Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker Premieres: Sunday, Feb. 5 Professional caterer Goldy Berry (DeLoach) throws a lavish barbeque event for her childhood friend, acclaimed realtor Susie Craig. Later that night, she is shocked to discover that after the event concluded, Susie's grill exploded and killed her. Goldy's professional reputation is put under fire when people realize that she was the last one to use the grill. On a mission to clear her name, Goldy teams up once again with detective Tom Schultz (Walker) to figure out who was behind this mysterious explosion. As they weed through manipulative party guests, heated gossip, and dark secrets, the suspect list grows with familiar names, ranging from business partners to ex-spouses. Goldy and Tom realize that the murderer might be closer to them than they initially imagined.
A Nashville Legacy (Mahogany)  Starring: Andrea Lewis, Pooch Hall, Stan Shaw & Roz Ryan Premieres: Sunday, Feb. 26 Naima (Lewis) has recently moved to Nashville, where she is getting her doctorate while interning as a curator at a well-known Nashville museum. The tales her late grandmother shared about the old days in Music City during the 1950s provided a fascination that led music enthusiast Naima back to her grandmother's old haunts. As she begins her work at the museum, Naima meets Damian (Hall), a volunteer… or so she thinks. Damian is actually the heir to the Berryhall Records empire, run by his father Franklin Berryhall (Shaw), but he is struggling to step out from under his father’s shadow of success. The two begin to get close, bonding over their love for music and their desire to leave their respective marks on the world.

Happy New Year! Here are some of our highlights from our first semester on the project:
1. Having Sebastian Trelles from SYBO Games come and teach us game design. He did a wonderful job teaching and critiquing us, and he also played Hollow Knight and Celeste with us, for some inspiration.
2. Meeting our sound/music guys Andreas Liboriussen and Lukas Julian Lentz from Sonic College in Southern Jutland. They're an awesome couple of guys and we're very excited to work with them.
3. Having Mathieu Durand come and give us awesome After Effects tips and tricks for our motion illustration cinematics. He came with some awesome effects we can use, which are going to save us a lot of time.  Thank you to everybody that has helped us on the project so far, we are very grateful!
