Snap On Verus Vs Modis
If you like JVComm32 you can just buy a registration key which makes the free demo version a full registered version. I expect that, before you register, have tested the program on your computer carefully. Jvcomm32 registration key. The registration key that you buy will be valid for all future versions of JVComm32, too. It is also valid for so called 'pre-releases' of new JVComm32 version. If the further development makes necessary another registration key scheme, all registered users will receive a new registration key.
Program available for Snap-on diagnostic platforms still eligible for software upgrades. Enrollment fee is separate and not eligible for weekly or monthly payment option. Rates and terms are subject to credit approval at time of sale and terms of the program and contract. Not everyone will be approved. Payment based on 12-month term for. So, how would these scan tools compare to the Snap On Modus or Verus? It seems in my area everyone says the Snap On Tools scanners are the ones to have. I just have a hard time dealing with a company that seems to always be A LOT higher in price than other companies. Andy Driveline & Gear Service Fallon, NV.
we also have just purchased a Maxisys! so far so good, some minor issues but didn't pay $7,000.00 more. Reason for changing: 1. Verus Pro = Slower than molasses is January when booting and this is AFTER we installed a SSD drive.. REALLY? i really think it got slower??? 2. Software Updates. slow in coming and WAY over $$$$ 3. Hardware that 10+ yrs old???? come on snap-on.. build a computer with some speed and get rid of WINXP. really????? computer hardware prices is NOT that high anymore.. QUAD CORE?? monitor 1024x600 what's with that ODD ball size?..better quality camera wouldn't hurt.. anyone can buy a laptop today for $300.00 that would run circles around this $10,000.00 thing.. yah, yah, i know, there is more to it than just that.. you can still build one hell of a computer for $1,000.00 and you can still charge your $9,000.00 for the software thats on it. i know this Maxisys does not have a 4 channel lab/ignition scope but $10,000.00 for Verus pro or $3,000.00 for the Maxisys, with weekly updates, hmmm, let me do the math?.. i didn't know lab/ignitions scopes cost $7,000.00?? hmmm Well, things are going to have to get much better in the snapon world before i look at anymore snap-on diagnostic equipment. really, for what snapon charges for, now i guess we will call it a subscription fee, they should throw in shopkey & suretrack. give your customers a little something in return for all the $$$ they spend with you.. OH, wait a minute, that's NOT the corporate thing to do these days, is it?? not like it was in the 50's or 60's when big business gave back a little to there customers.. getting off my soap box for now. have a great day! thanks for thinking of us..LOL

How to hire mobile app developer in the USA?
https://thinkmobiles.com/blog/how-much-cost-to-hire-app-developer/

Developing a mobile application requires specific skills and knowledge. You can have many interesting ideas for new apps, but you do not necessarily need to have the knowledge to implement it. Fortunately, you can find plenty of mobile app development companies and freelancers in the USA to develop your great app.
You should know what you want to develop precisely and how much does it cost to make an app. Then start searching. Mobile app development in the USA geographically can be divided into several areas. Each one has many companies with various directions of work. Main areas are New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco (Bay Area).
US app developers average salary
A price of app development would depend on many factors such as scope, platform, type, industry, region, etc. The average salary of mobile app developers in the USA is about $71K per year. Also, they may receive different bonuses based on skill set and specific results.
Developers with less than 5 years of experience earn about $66K per year. While those with 10 years and more receive around $107K per year.
Taking this US mobile app developers’ income into account, we can estimate how much would it cost to make an app in various areas in the USA.
Rates by platform and geography
App developers in San Francisco have the best pay - 29% above the national average. The average hourly rate is about $63/hour. Doesn’t seem bad. What about other cities?
· Boston - $43/hour
· Chicago - $43/hour
· Atlanta - $44/hour
· Miami - $45/hour
· Denver - $47/hour
· Los Angeles - $55/hour
· San Francisco - $63/hour
· New York - $85/hour
As you can see the range of salaries of mobile app developers is really wide and it gives the options to choose from.
Another serious moment is that rates also depend on the platform. For example, Android developers earn in average around $107,143 per year and iOS developers - $117,626 per year. Similarly, apps on different platforms and in different categories would differ in price.
iOS developers are in high demand. There are two ways of paying developer: per hour or a fixed project price from an app development company. Developers’ rates vary from $40 to $150 per hour depending on experience, skills, and place of work.
If you look at iOS developer rates from city to city, a situation is somewhat different.
· $60 in San Francisco
· $70-150 in New York
· $75 in Boston
· $65 in Austin
· $50 in Atlanta
In relation to Android developer rates in US cities, consider these:
· $125 in New York
· $130 in San Francisco
· $120 in Los Angeles
· $100 in Atlanta
· $100 in Chicago
So you can see how important it is to make a plan and consider all factors.
App developer skills
First of all, most of the software companies require their employees to have a degree in the specific area. Proper education helps future developers to acquire logical thinking, understanding of coding basics, algorithms, etc. That’s why it is worth paying attention to education and background of your candidate.
The next thing are skills of app developer for hire. Creating mobile apps is more than just writing the code. Technical skills is a must, but developers also need certain knowledge of business strategy, marketing, design to make a successful project.
Also, you have to make sure that you will be able to co-operate well with your app developer. During the search, pay attention to candidate’s way of thinking, his/her enthusiasm, opinion about your app idea, overall communication process.
Be careful with developers who offer timeline and payment too low. You should seek a balance of price and quality, as going cheap is probably only going to cause problems with your product in future.

(REUTERS/Kevork Djansezian) Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky left Los Angeles for Byron Bay, Australia, and never looked back. "It is my dream, I always wanted to be in a place like [Byron Bay]," Pataky, 42, told The Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday. "Growing up I was very happy in nature, with animals, and I dreamed of living in a place where my kids can run around with no shoes on, surrounded by all kinds of animals — dangerous and not dangerous." Despite Hemsworth, 35, being a major blockbuster star, the couple will never reside in the City of Angels, she insists. CHRIS HEMSWORTH POSTS 35TH BIRTHDAY PHOTO, JOKES ABOUT BEING 'VICIOUSLY ATTACKED' BY SON "I’ll never live in LA again," she added. "We will travel back there for work when we need to, but I can't see myself living in a city again." One bad thing about living in nature where kids can run around, however, is that kids get hurt, which upsets Pataky greatly. Chris Hemsworth takes hitchhiker on a chopper rideVideo "All the accidents he has … my heart breaks," she lamented of one of her and Hemsworth's twin sons after he'd suffered a split lip. "My husband is so strong with these things, but I'm not ready. He broke two bones in his arms recently, and then he went outside and fell and he just didn't land well and cut open his lip." "I can do everything," she said, "but I can't see them hurt." Pataky put her career on hold while she raised their sons, Tristan and Sasha, 4, and daughter India, 6, but is eager to get back to work on Netflix series "The Tidelands," which films Down Under. CHRIS HEMSWORTH SAYS HE FEELS 'GROSS' ABOUT HIS WEALTH "It was meant to be in a way," she said of her new role. "I haven't been working for a while because I have been taking care of my family and really focused on that." "I wanted to start working again but we travel around following Chris and his projects … I was just so sick of travelling," she explained. "This project was just two hours from my house ... and I loved the role, I really liked the script and I really wanted to do it." Very bad here w the things to happen to peoples faces n bodies n its supposed to be just what is. And its supposed to be people to be poor n homeless n not able to survive to have something other than this. The powers that be know what theyre needing for people to do or others which would still be the powers that be know what theyll pay for for this way of things to go forth n people at the mercy of the powers that be to get means to live. But i want things other than what is the present way of things. I want not people to be fat for eating as they would etf. Thats not anything to be. People should be able to live as just people n voluntarily choose n decide together. Not some that are the government or have money or are the powers that be presently. Really they are the devil n birthing people in to be simoly something to act upon n feed on n be something to support the survival of the devil. But trees do fight back to protect their leaves from catepillars eating them so its still not quite a real matchup to anything presently said to be or seeming to be naturally occurring. 12. https://www.instagram.com/p/BrEsVc2F6n5/?hl=en 13. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thehour.com/business/amp/Water-from-sewage-rivers-used-to-grow-vegetables-13459378.php 14. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thehour.com/business/amp/Water-from-sewage-rivers-used-to-grow-vegetables-13459378.php 15. I said i wouldnt be acting like the girl. "You said she wasnt okay," the devil said. She's a black in white face. "You are here as not to go on," the devil said. "You are not able to be," the devil said. Im not a black in white face. "No," the devil said. "Well i will go then," the devil said. Why are you trying to continue on. For farmer Richard Mamani it's part of a family tradition. Like his parents before him, he uses water from untreated sewage to tend to vegetables that are his livelihood in the town of Valencia south of La Paz. He has had safe drinking water for some years, but he says it's too expensive to use it on his fields. "We don't use fertilizers and look," he said, proudly pointing to corn and other vegetables. Still, he knows the risks of using the water, which sometimes billows up clouds of foamy pollutants in the farm fields. Interested in Environment? Bolivia is one South America's poorest countries and the world's highest capital lacks a waste water treatment plant. The untreated fetid waters from households and factories flow into the Choqueyapu, Cotahuma and Orkohauira rivers that run from La Paz to the city's southern agricultural hub. A 2013 environmental report by Bolivia's comptroller general described them as in a "very bad quality range." The Environment and Water Ministry says it hopes to change this with the construction of the city's first water treatment plant. But for now, most of the produce that arrives in the early mornings at the markets in La Paz is often contaminated. An audit by the comptroller general said that out of a sample, "12.5 percent of agricultural products were acceptable; 25 percent were mildly acceptable; and 62.5 percent were rejectable." Some carry parasites, including E.coli. Symptoms of E. coli infection include diarrhea, severe stomach cramps and vomiting. There are no specific studies available that point to the impact on the health of the population, but the National Institute for Health Laboratories says 70 percent of acute diarrheic illnesses are linked to eating contaminated food, including vegetables. The contamination is also a problem in rivers in other Bolivian cities such as Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, where 65 percent of Bolivia's 11 million people live. Before leveling his sentence, Judge William Pauley said “Cohen pled guilty to a veritable smorgasbord of fraudulent conduct" and “lost his moral compass,” adding that “as a lawyer, Mr. Cohen should have known better.” In addition to his imprisonment, Cohen will have to pay $1.39 million in restitution plus $500,000 in forfeiture for the financial and campaign finance crimes. He will face an additional fine of $50,000 for lying to Congress. For more than a decade, Cohen stood by Trump’s side as a personal attorney, fixer and confidant, famously proclaiming that he would “take a bullet for the president” and “never walk away.” But over the past year, as investigators targeted his personal finances, Cohen flipped on his former boss and cooperated in multiple investigations, including Mueller's probe, targeting Trump’s campaign and family business operations. Special counsel Robert Mueller, tasked with investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, tacked on an additional count of lying to Congress last month. Cohen pleaded guilty to all nine counts and struck a deal to cooperate with ongoing investigations. Before ruling was issued, Cohen had pleaded for leniency, accusing President Trump – his former boss – of causing him to “follow a path of darkness rather than light” and “cover up his dirty deeds.” Cohen’s attorney, Guy Petrillo, argued that Cohen “came forward to offer evidence against the most powerful person in the country.” But while the special counsel’s office appeared to be willing to give Cohen credit for his cooperation, SDNY prosecutors took a tougher stance. In court on Wednesday, Jeannie Rhee, a prosecutor with the Office of the Special Counsel, said Cohen had provided “wide ranging and helpful” information on matters related to the Russia probe while being careful not to inflate the value of that information. Nicolas Roos, a prosecutor with the Southern District of New York, however, struck a different tone. Cohen “didn’t come anywhere close to assisting this office in an investigation,” Roos told the court, adding, “the charges portray a pattern of deception, of brazenness and of greed.” PHOTO: Special Counsel Robert Mueller departs after briefing members of the U.S. Senate on his investigation on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, June 21, 2017.Reuters, FILE Special Counsel Robert Mueller departs after briefing members of the U.S. Senate on his investigation on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, June 21, 2017.more + (MORE: Donald Trump directed Michael Cohen to make hush money payments during 2016 campaign, federal prosecutors allege in court filings) With the pounding of his gavel on Wednesday morning, Judge Pauley marked the conclusion of Cohen’s improbable journey from Trump’s legal counsel to perhaps the most potent vehicle for President Trump’s legal exposure. Federal prosecutors allege that Cohen violated campaign finance laws by paying off two women who allege to have had affairs with Donald Trump acting “in coordination with and at the direction of the then-candidate. Trump has argued the payments amount to nothing more than a “simple private transaction,” and do not qualify as campaign finance violations. Rep. Eric Swalwell, a California Democrat and vocal critic of the president, said he believes the Cohen sentence will send a powerful message. “Hopefully this signals to others that it’s time to come clean,” Swalwell said. Swalwell is one of several Democrats who are voicing interest in having Cohen return to Congress to testify in public, even if it means transporting him from prison to do so. “Cohen is one of the only individuals who lived in Donald Trump’s personal, political and financial worlds,” Swalwell said. “I would like to see Michael Cohen come clean, wholly before Congress, about what the president knew and what he was doing politically and financially with the Russians. I would like to hear from him. Just for the country’s sake.” Cohen, who departed court on Wednesday without addressing the scrum of awaiting cameras, has been ordered to report to prison on March 6, 2019. UMITRON Continues its Push to Bring Satellite Data to Aquaculture with the Launch of the Pulse iOS Application and a New Collaboration with the Japan Space Forum
UMITRON PTE. LTD. (Singapore, Co-founder/ Managing director Masahiko Yamada, hereinafter UMITRON) is bringing more satellite data to the aquaculture industry with the roll out of the Pulse iOS application and the kick off of a new project with the Japan Space Forum*.
Pulse is a new ocean data service from Umitron that provides a high-resolution map of critical environmental parameters such as water temperature, chlorophyll, dissolved oxygen, salinity, and wave height. The iOS application launch completes Umitron’s roll out of Pulse after the initial launch of Pulse for desktop computers in July followed by the Android application release in November.
As Pulse’s user base has grown there has been positive feedback from farmers growing a variety of species in regions around the world. When asked about how Pulse is helping improve farm operations Gary Zippel of Zippel’s Smoky Bay Oysters in South Australia replied "Temperature data helps me make management decisions about grading, and over time I will align outcomes with the data to make other management decisions''. Fish farmers are also benefiting from the data provided by Pulse, Hyodo-suisan in Ehime, Japan has been using Pulse to monitor their red sea bream farm, they recently shared that “We check and record the temperature, dissolved oxygen and salinity values displayed on Umitron Pulse daily. Until now, we have been using a sensor to manually check each water quality parameter individually. Compared to the old operation, Pulse has made processing data much easier and faster and not dependent on the weather or any equipment”. They also added “being able to visualize a wide area rather than a single point for important parameters such as chlorophyll and wave height is extremely useful for understanding our farm site’s environment more deeply. We think Pulse has the power to appeal to many farmers. We hope that it will continue to improve and contribute to the development of the aquaculture industry”.
Umitron has also recently been awarded a business demonstration grant from the Japan Space Forum and its "Open and free satellite data demonstration program". UMITRON will work with yellowtail farmers in Oita, Japan to provide ocean data and analysis by combining satellite remote sensing data with multi-spectrum camera observations provided by local sensors. The project aims to determine how camera sensors near the farm can be integrated with satellite-based sensors in outer space to improve data accuracy and resolution.
New updates to Pulse will be regularly released in the coming months to improve the service for all users. Please see more information about Pulse in our July press release announcing the initial launch of the service, and our November press release about the launch of the Android mobile application. Also see more about a previously announced project to work with the Japan Space Agency (JAXA) to provide additional satellite data for aquaculture.
Try Pulse by visiting www.pulse.umitron.com or download it on the iOS app store.

Sanitizing homes and cars. Introducing a brand-new product and service here in Winnipeg coming up next.
You're listening to the Bo Knows real estate podcast, tips and advice for home buyers Sellers and owners with award-winning Remax Agent Bo Kauffmann.
All right, so a couple of weeks ago friend mine who is the business development manager at Eastside Collision is name is Doug McGuffin reached out to me and told me about a brand new product that they are importing or bringing into Manitoba and they hold the sport for I believe western Canada. And it's a product that helps people disinfect their cars and it can be taken a step further. So let me introduce Doug Magoffin and let's find out more about it.
All right, so I'm here with Doug of East Side Collision and he's told me about a great new product that they got a hold of that helps sanitize, disinfect cars. Doug, tell me a little bit more about it.
Yeah, for sure Bo thanks for having me. So we came across a new product. It's called Environize natural vehicle disinfecting and sanitizing service and what this is about is it's a new way for us to clean and sanitize your vehicle prior to it coming into the shop just to ensure everyone's safety. With the recent events of what's going on nowadays, everyone's health and safety is of utmost importance. So what we've done is we've taken it upon ourselves to ensure the safety of our clients and our staff. So we're going to be sanitizing every vehicle that comes into East Side prior for repairs.
And after we return it back to the customer and what this product does it's a fogging system that allows us to get into every nook and cranny inside a vehicle and the fogging machine will get in there with the solution our Environize solution and kill and destroy, in fact any of the harmful bacteria or viruses that may be in there. I kills everything like mold mildew, bacteria, viruses such as E coli, H1N1, covid. So everything that's out there nowadays if people are worried about this disinfectant cleaning will will take care of that.
So that's awesome. So if somebody brings in their car for Auto Pack repairs, you said you're going to do it when the car first comes in and then you can do it at the end when the car goes back to the customer as well.
Yeah, that's correct Bo. So we're going to bring it in we're going to disinfect it. It when it comes into the shop. So the safety of our of our technicians is going to be taken care of and then prior to releasing the vehicle back to the client after we've done our quality assurance test. The vehicle will be parked in our service Bay and it will be fogged One Last Time prior to us giving the vehicle back to the customer and all they do is they get in the car themself and drive it out the shop. So it is our version of a note touch service.
Now I can think of a lot of different companies and services that could benefit just from having their cars done even without Autopac repairs. So I'm thinking police vehicles, ambulance, taxis, moving vans, anything like that. Do you offer this service to somebody who is not going through an autopac claim?
Yes Bo. That's a very good question. We have had a number of people inquired about that have their own their secondary Vehicles whether or not they can have this service done. So there is a need for this and there are people that are interested in it. So for your regular passenger vehicle, it's going to be a wipe down and sanitizing fog of your interior. Vehicle and that cost is going to be 29.99 and we would ask that you would make an appointment for that service to be performed and it's just a matter of about a half an hour at the shop and you're on your way.
Tell me what number would they call to make that appointment?
You can call us at our main office number which is area code 204-237-7111, and any one of our helpful staff would be more than happy to book an appointment for you.
Is that just on the merrion street location, or is it elsewhere too
No this is available at any one of our three Facilities so we have our Marion shop at 847 for Marion Street. We have east side. truck collision which is out on Inkster in route 90 and then we also have Moray Auto Body and Glass on Moray St..
Okay, so that as exciting as that all is for cars what really gets me going is that you can offer this service to anybody who's moving into a house. Let's say for example, so let's say somebody bought a house from me and they're moving in next week. I could hire you to do this service for the house.
That is correct. So again, it would be the exact same application with the fogging machine. We come perform a general wipe down of any of the high touch areas such as your door knobs your light switches anything in the house that that you're touching on a regular basis and you may leave oil off your hands and your fingers the bacteria and viruses get trapped in that so just to take it a step further we wiped out on those high traffic areas and then it's just a matter of walking through the house with are fogging machine. And again, it gets into every nook and cranny and kills all the bad stuff that you don't want your house.
Okay, so you create a fog inside the house it settles and kills germs and viruses on contact is that what I understand?
Yes, that's correct. The product is made up of chlorine, sodium and water and it's a very low dosages. It is approved by Health Canada. So there is a drug and identification number along with it as well. And again, it settles just like a fine do in the morning that you would see on your vehicle. It leaves no residue and you may smell a faint smell of a pool smell for 10 minutes or so on green. Yep. Chlorine spell yeah, right.
Awesome. That's that's really exciting. So REALTORS can just give you a call at that same number, and offer this as a service.
That's correct.
Well, okay so as dismissed settles that doesn't matter whether it's carpet or hardwood floors or linoleum on the floor. Does that matter?
No, it doesn't matter. We just try to keep it away from any electronic surfaces, of course because it is a wet application, right? But other than that it you would see no residue, it's really best to do when the house is empty when like just before you move your furniture and kind of thing problem. Yeah, it would be it would be a little bit more difficult to get in all the different areas if the house was full of furniture, but it would be best to apply it, you know in an empty house.
That sounds really exciting. Well, thank you very much Doug and I appreciate the time. No problem. Go have a great day. And thanks for having me you to take care Buddy .
All right, that was very exciting news. And so I'm now going to match it with this exciting offer if you're going to buy a house or a condo and use me as your agent and the house or condo is worth $200,000 or more. I will offer this service free of charge on The Possession data so that you know, you're going to be moving into a clean sanitized disinfect that house now keep in mind that the house itself won't be necessary cleaned, but all the germs on the viruses will be taken care of when you move in. So who do you know is looking to buy house or a condo April May and June because I Run this forever. I'm going to be having the service offered to you and performed for you on possession date remind me when you buy a house with me remind me of this offer that you heard it here. And I think this is a very exciting development for houses and for cars and hey, if you're still with me at this point, why not grab my free podcasting app available for IOS and Android devices. It's super easy. Just go to Winnipeg

Android security: 0.04% of downloads on Google Play in 2018 were ‘potentially harmful apps’

Android security: 0.04% of downloads on Google Play in 2018 were ‘potentially harmful apps’
Google’s Android, now 10 years old, has not been a stranger to security issues over the years. But with the mobile operating system now installed on over 2 billion devices globally, Google has been taking an increasingly firmer grip on trying to bring the problem under control. Now, the company has published its lengthy annual update to take stock on just how well that is going.
It’s a slippery slope to be sure, with the number of apps and the enterprising attempts to maliciously exploit them both growing. To wit, 0.04 percent of all downloads from Google Play were classified as potentially harmful applications (PHAs) by Google, versus 0.02 percent in 2017 — an increase in part because Google is growing the categories it’s identified and is tracking.
(As for what that translates to in actual numbers, one estimate for Android downloads in 2018, from SensorTower, puts the figure at 75.7 billion; 0.04 percent of that works out to 30.3 million apps classified as potentially harmful applications.)
But Google said that new policies, such as more privacy-hardened APIs, along a wider implementation of Google Play Protect — its built-in malware scanner that comes with unforked versions of Android — have contributed to the company overall making a dent in the problem.
One area that Google singled out in the report this year was the impact that it’s having on protecting devices and users when they download and use apps from outside the Google Play store.
As this is a newer area that it’s tackling with more focus, there are more quantifiable wins to be had, and broadcasted. It didn’t provide a specific figure for how many PHAs it blocked from the Google Play store in 2018 (note that in 2017 it did disclose this: it was 700,000). But in 2018 it noted that “Google Play Protect prevented 1.6 billion PHA installation attempts from outside of Google Play.”
Notably, when it comes to apps on the Google Play store, on devices running unforked versions of Android, the dent seems to be mostly keeping the problem of potentially harmful applications at bay, while the impact on apps that are sideloaded not through Google Play has been more pronounced.
Google noted that in 2018, some 0.08 percent of devices that used Google Play exclusively for app downloads were affected by PHAs. That figure, however, is actually the same as the year before, and actually a bit higher than the year before that.
In contrast, the impact on those downloaded outside of Google Play has been more dramatic — albeit the problem is clearly a bigger one. The number detected in 2018 stood at 0.68 percent, down 15 percent from 0.8 percent a year ago (which itself also had gone up from 2016).
The chances of installing malicious apps, meanwhile, are improved if you have Google Play Protect working. Some 0.45 percent of Android devices using it, installed PHAs, down from 0.56 percent in 2017.
It seems also that this trend is partly down to general improvements over time across the whole Android ecosystem, with later versions of the OS showing better rates of PHA installs. Notably, however, the reduct between Oreo and Pie was only a 0.01 percentage point. It’s getting more challenging to address the problem after more drastic reductions in earlier years.
In terms of the categories that are covered by PHAs at the moment, click fraud is by far the highest category both in terms of install rates and distribution. Notably, 2018 was the first year that Google started tracking click fraud as a potentially harmful application: in the past it had been classified as a policy violation. This is one example of how it’s looking to cover more surfaces for potential vulnerabilities, but also a surprise to see that it wasn’t part of the mix before, considering how huge it is. Partly as a result of it now detecting and blocking click-fraud post recategroization, Google noted that it “expect[s] click fraud to remain a profitable fraud vector, but at a lower scale than in 2018.”
Google noted that the two biggest click fraud families were FlashingPuma and CardinalFall, and that the main target countries for click fraud attempts were the USA, Brazil and Mexico (USA and Brazil being two of Google’s biggest markets for Android).
While there are straight click fraud apps, Google notes that most are designed around other services, often something that a consumer might use daily — most commonly flashlights, music and gaming apps. In these, “an embedded SDK is executing click fraud in the background, often without the knowledge of the app developers themselves. Distributing click fraud code in this way is easily scalable and makes it easy for click fraud SDK developers to be present in the apps of hundreds or even thousands of developers,” Google notes in its report.
But even as Google gets more sophisticated and strict in how it handles third party players in its ecosystem, the problem continues to morph and find new areas to exploit.
Just last week, a report was published that highlighted how pre-installed apps — the non-Google apps that come on your device either fully installed or as a link to an install — were providing links into vast ecosystems of services that pull user data, and were difficult to remove for anyone but the most technically advanced.
Weeks before that, yet another tranche of 200 apps were identified that slipped in under the radar littered with adware (on top of another 85 apps also loaded with adware that millions of people downloaded months before). Adware isn’t the only ‘ware that has been found in Google apps: in November last year it was revealed that half a million people downloaded apps from Google Play containing malware, too.
And it was only two months ago that Google finally started to crack down and pull apps that were using legacy permissions to access users’ call logs and SMS messages. (Those permissions have been replaced by more privacy-focused APIs, but the fact is that that those permissions used to exist, and Google hadn’t stopped letting apps use them until quite recently.)
While much has been made of the open source nature of Android being one of the reasons that it’s misused in this way, another is the fact that a lot of apps are developed with open source components, and these can be ripe for exploitation. One recent report, in fact, found that no less that one in every five Android apps has vulnerabilities in it as a result of that open source usage.
While it’s misleading to think that Apple and iOS are not prey to similar kinds of exploits — they are — the fact that the Android ecosystem is simply so much bigger, and more open than the tightly controlled iOS platform, makes it an especially interesting target for malicious actors.
All these might not all be malicious in the sense of, for example, hacking financial information or disabling your device, but privacy of information and information security nonetheless go hand-in-hand. Having a grip on one leads to better control of the other.

LINKAGE INSTITUTION
Carmona, officially the Municipality of Carmona, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 97,557 people. History Carmona was just a part of the big town of Silang. This is not surprising because in the early part of the Spanish regime Silang included what today are known as the municipalities of Indang: San Francisco de Malabon (now General Trias), and Maragondon. Moreover, Alfonso, Amadeo, and Mendez were mere sitios of Indang; Sta. Cruz de Malabon (now Tanza) was a part of San Francisco de Malabon or Malabon Grande; and Magallanes and Ternate were barrios of Maragondon. Furthermore, Maragondon itself had been a part of the Corregimiento of Mariveles on the opposite side of Manila Bay. In 1595, Silang became a town and Latag was annexed as a part since then. Latag gradually developed into a community whose residents struggled hard to make it a town. Their burning desires were filled with hopes and fulfillment in 1856 when their move for the conversion of Latag into a town was spearheaded by a leader named Tiburcio Purificacion. Finally, by virtue of a decree issued on February 20, 1857 by the King of Spain through Governor General Fernando de Norzagaray, Latag became a separate municipality with the name it bears today: Carmona, named after the town of Carmona in the province of Seville, Spain. Yet until now, it had not been known where the name originated. During the Philippine Revolution in 1896, the gobernadorcillo of Carmona was Kapitan Damian Ermitano after the administrations of Tiburcio Purificacion, Mariano Mapanoo and Donald C. Virtucio, Augusto Manaog and Fabian Tenedero. Cottage industries include metal works, metalcraft, footwear industries, concrete products, tricycle assembly, rattan handicrafts and bakeries. Manufacturing firms engaged in handicraft (bags and shoes), furniture making, business retailing, personal and business services, and food based enterprises contribute to the municipality’s trade and commerce. Mercantile activities in the municipality are concentrated at the Poblacion area and along Governor’s Drive. Carmona has been classified as a first class municipality since July 1996, brought about by industrialization, real estate development and commercial activities.
