all of the boys love their children with every fiber of their being, but none of them will deny that when their child (in jack’s case, children) was born, it was just different. besides the nerves quinn had for baby jj’s arrival, they had all mutually agreed that she would be their last baby.

not wanting any slip ups, angel had made the decision to undergo an elective c-section so that she could have her tubes tied. quinn was the only one allowed in the room with her which was strange because she was so used to having her boys with her when her kids were born, even if they did annoy the hell out of her while she was in labor.

they share a look when a shrill cry breaks out in the room and quinn sobs when the lift jaci over the sheet. angel blinks away tears at the sight of her third daughter, “that’s why i had so much heartburn.”

jaci juliana was born with a head full of dark brown hair and a set of lungs that put her siblings to shame. angel got to hold her while they finished her procedure and while the wheeled her to where she would recover on the maternity floor, a nurse rolls baby jj out with quinn.

jack and luke were joined by angel’s parents and their own, but the boys were the first to bolt upright at the sight of their brother. luke yelps, “how is she?”

“she did so good. she’s in recovery right now, they said she’ll probably be sleeping for awhile,” quinn can’t take his eyes off of his daughter who was wrapped in the white hospital blanket. there was this feeling in his chest that he had only heard his brothers describe over the last three years and now he was finally feeling it.

“what’s the weight?” jack chimes because the brothers absolutely didn’t have a bet going on about whose baby weighed the most.

quinn just smirks, “8.7.”

“damn it,” jack grunts and luke rolls his eyes. quinn had won their not-bet. he stares at the baby in the clear bassinet and flicks his eyes to his brother, “does she have a name yet?”

“i think we’re going with jaci juliana,” quinn stares at jack and he sees the moment that it registers in his brain, “a twist on her dad’s name.”

“damn it,” jack repeats, this time eyes softening as he pulls quinn in for a hug.

luke stands to the side, hands awkwardly shoved in his pockets until quinn pulls him forward into their little brother huddle. he laughs and throws his arms over his older brothers shoulders, staring down at jaci whose eyes were closed, “congrats, q.”

“congratulations to you two,” quinn chimes and they all smile softly, “god, we have four kids now.”

“oh fuck.”

I thought of an idea for a little blurb for the boys and Angel! All of them are out and about with the kids they each have one strapped to their chest! I honestly need a visual representation of the boys doing it 🤣🤣

unless the babies decide otherwise, they have a pretty set in stone “buddy system.” truthfully getting all four kids and adults out of the house at the same time is not a simple task, so it really only comes into play when they’re on vacation but angel will have drew, luke will have wren, quinn’s got jj, and jack has millie.

the boys have never thrown a fit about baby wearing or carrying their kids and as a matter of fact as they get older, angel has to have a very hard conversation with them all about how they need to stop baby wearing so their kids will, y’know, walk.

but it’s truly a sight. angel fussing over jj’s sunhat while trying to keep drew’s hands away from her face. all while luke is trying to wrangle wren and jack is just sitting calmly with millie, both watching the fiasco as calm as ever. he would kiss her cheek, “i’m glad i got the quiet one.”
