"Word's around you had a visitor."
After Angel Eyes' introduction at the movie theater, my husband leaned over and said, "I never knew a person could look so much like a hawk."

Here’s the first reader insert headcannons for tgtbatu that were in my drafts I think these were written after bawling my eyes out so 😭
The main three catching you crying:
Angel eyes:
Sentenza will hold his pipe in between your lips until he’s sure you can hold it on your own. Take as many puffs as you want, hell, use the whole pouch of tobacco if you like
This turns into you two passing it back and fourth until your tears have of dried a little.
It’s fine if you don’t want to talk it out, he keeps his secrets too.
But if you do, Sentenza does this thing where he slowly leans in inch by inch until your forehead is pressed against his, and you can feel his mustache tickling your top lip every time you speak.
Tuco:
“Hey, hey now come to Tuco.”
He’ll bunch you up in his arms as if you were clothes he’s just pulled off the line. Nuzzling all over your face and practically drying your tears with his kisses.
You don’t really even have to talk about it because he’s whispering in your ear in Spanish
“Conejito bonito por favor no llores”
And you’re not immune to this whatsoever because by the time he’s done you’re giggling in his lap
Blondie (this one was hard tbh):
You two just kinda of stared at each other for a few minutes. Until he motions for you both to sit at opposite ends of the room.
Blondie will throw you a cigar and match, breaking the silence by saying something totally unrelated.
“Nice day today huh?” it comes off as him not caring but it’s actually a ploy to take your mind off of whatever’s troubling you
Because by the end of the night you’re both comparing guns and trying on the other’s gun belt.

We've discussed cat coded and snake coded Blondie but consider: spider coded Blondie (cunning, subtle, venomous, likes to be the one pulling the strings, likes tying people up). Black widow vibes also with his tendency to abandon men once he's got whatever he wanted from them (Tuco in canon, and my headcanon for why his interactions with Angel Eyes/Sentenza are Like That--they were partners until Blondie got bored and wandered off and Angel Eyes is desperately trying to get him back). Tuco's lucky he didn't eat him

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was on TV yesterday and I still stick to what I think : while it's a very epic film, I still prefer For A Few Dollars More. Liked the plot better, found the three characters dynamics more interesting, the final duel had something special that TGTBATU didn't have.
Some fun facts :
-I had forgotten but in French Angel Eyes is called Sentenza.
-it seemed to be an extended version of the movie, there was some scenes I didn't remember where the dub voices and sound quality suddenly changed, it was VERY distracting.
-There is no better way to watch the Fever of Gold scene than around midnight as the rain is falling, in the living room while everyone else is asleep, with the music echoing softly in the house.

Also Leone never meant to call the character Angel Eyes. He called him Sentenza to link him to justice and to the unavoidable nature of law which punishes only poor and weak people.

Sentenza Kimdir?
Lee Van Cleef'in unutulmaz performansıyla hayat verdiği Sentenza, Sergio Leone'nin 1966 yapımı spagetti western klasiği İyi, Kötü ve Çirkin'in antagonistlerinden biridir.
Lee Van Cleef’in unutulmaz performansıyla hayat verdiği Sentenza, Sergio Leone’nin 1966 yapımı spagetti western klasiği İyi, Kötü ve Çirkin’in antagonistlerinden biridir. “Angel Eyes” lakaplı da bilinen Sentenza, acımasız, gaddar ve soğukkanlı bir silahşördür. Blondie’nin en büyük rakibi olan Sentenza, hazineye ulaşmak için her türlü pisliği yapmaktan çekinmez.

Why did they translate the name 'sentenza' ('judgement') to 'angel eyes' though, like who took a look at lee van cleef's character and went 'ah yes, angel eyes'

this feels like the ideal time to say that in my head this is (among many other things) an angel eyes song and specifically an angel eyes & blondie song
i can set you free, make you rich and wise
we can live forever, look into my eyes
sinister purpose, knockin' at your door
come and take my hand...
