Angular Geometry (@angulargeometry) is so great! 

After we told him Tumblr's data confirms he's the longest-running everyday GIF artist, he said, "I have no idea how to word what I am feeling to be honest. I am really moved.

Awww. And as if his GIFs themselves weren’t inspiring enough...

His advice to artists on their own everyday creative journey is, "Don't worry so much. So much greatness is ruined by anxiety. Some days will turn out like garbage, some days you will be magically inspired and you will make something you are extremely happy with. The great thing is that the days just keep coming."

It’s been a beautiful four years, Tyler. Here’s to four more.

do you have any recommendations for blogs to find good textures for graphics?

Really all I have bookmarked are blogs with motion graphics because im… such a sucker for them… I hope that’s okay! I also have their ARCHIVES linked, so you can see immediately what their overall style is.

I DON’T KNOW WHAT CAN TRIGGER EPILEPSY, BUT SOME OF THESE ARCHIVES ARE KINDA EXTREME SO BE CAREFUL!

thecommotion - nice colors, the further you scroll the more solid-color graphics you’ll find. not really any patterns.

motionaday - a variety because it’s made by multiple people. Here you can look by creator incase you like some styles more than others. some graphics are fast so careful if that hurts your eyes! 

dvdp - usually black BG with white graphic, but has some rainbows. some patterns.

beesandbombs - a lot more simple, and slow. usually 2 solid colors. some patterns

9-squares - 2-4 solid colors. the palettes may not be attractive, but with PSDs I think they can be lovely.

pislices - abstract; a lot of black backgrounds with white-lined graphics. some are patterns

misterymyra - patterns; really trippy, I recommend toning them down a lot the further you scroll down (this is the one that made me worry for epileptic people!)

sasj - includes both animated and static images, great for backgrounds imo. overall patterns, but some don’t take over the whole canvas.

bigblueboo - simple movements, has some with tumblr’s blue space BG, patterns here and there

zolloc - a lot of graphics with humans, but I also love their smoke ones

lematworks - patterns; resembles stars, sparkles, glitter, snow, rain

angulargeometry - abstract; a lot of black w/ rainbows, but PSD can make lovely palettes out of these

Animeps also has this tag, which I think is much more standard and usual for graphics haha
