Hi! Do you think the anime about the immune system is accurate?
Cells at work? Once you accept the premise of everything being humanoid anime characters running around to make one collective organism, and ignore the bacteria being presented as the same size as the cells instead popcorn size, it’s pretty good actually.
I was shocked to see that was how they chose to depict macrophages. I’m a bit miffed that Mast Cell wasn’t more purple (they made Eosinophil pink, they could have made Mast Cell more purple).
I have only watched to episode 6 at the time of writing this, but aside from little details fudged for the story telling, it’s pretty good. It’s not revision-grade material of course, but there’s details in there you might not get the reference for unless you’ve studied immunology.
But I am looking forward to seeing more of it. Because I know what the cells do I kind of know where the early plots were going (Eosinophil was no surprise) but I’m interested to see where the series narrative goes.

Are you gonna watch the neflix adaptation of watership down?
I’ll most likely give it a go. I’m not as super attached to watership down as most people cause I only recently watched the movie of it (I’ve never read the book).
I was too busy reading Australian classics like the silver brumby and hairy macLary as a kid.

Once there was a man in the clinic that said "if I didn't vaccine my kid, I am not gonna vaccine my dog" I have never seen my proffesor do that face, she was ready to hit him with her shoe and yell; If you don't want to die at 38 you better take precaution! !
The correct response is “I am not responsible for your poor life decisions, but I encourage you to make the best choice according to current knowledge and vaccinate your pet”

What do you know about deseases caused by giant african snail?
Giant African snail (Achatina fulica) can carry a number of zoonotic diseases. They are carriers of parasitic worms (Angiostrongylus cantonensis) causing meningitis in humans, if eaten.
They can also infect humans with a number of bacteria (namely salmonella) simply by touching.

Maned wolf, look like a fox with really long legs, but the funny thing is that not a fox, is not even from the same family.
The thought of riding a fox as if it were a horse comes to mind. I never expected this..

not really a question more an observation; In the vet hospital I work, there are stables for horses and there is a secluded area for illegal fauna traffic that was confiscated; One day a truck pass nearby to go to the secluded area, turn out the truck was carrying a Jaguar. All the horses immediately went nervous and began to neigh really loudly.I think is incredible how they still react to predators even if they have been years apart!
It’s an instinctive thing, really. I wish I knew the details of it, but animals react very strongly to the smell of animals they consider a threat.
There was a day a while ago when I had been hanging out with an animal education company, and the last thing I had handled before leaving was a juvenile crocodile. I stopped at a gas station and this super friendly german shepherd came running over to say hi. The moment he sniffed my hands, he backed up about ten feet and started alert barking frantically. I have no idea if that dog had ever encountered a crocodile (unlikely) but he still knew something about that smell was fundamentally a big nope.
