Prime Minister Narendra Modi address Mann Ki Baat: Key points
Tumblr media
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation through his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Earlier on November 17, PM Modi had invited suggestions from the people, for the 71st edition of the programme. ‘Mann ki Baat’ is the Prime Minister’s monthly radio programme addressed to the nation, which is broadcasted on the last Sunday of every month. Here are PM Modi’s top quotes:
I want to share a good news with you all at the beginning of Mann Ki Baat. Every Indian will be proud to know that a very old idol of Devi Annapurna is being brought to India from Canada. This idol was stolen from Varanasi and smuggled out of India some 100 years ago.
The return of Mata Annapurna’s idol also coincides with the World Heritage Week celebrated a few days ago.
In spite of corona this time, we saw people celebrate World Heritage Week in an innovative manner. With help of technology, culture works as an emotional recharge. Today, lots of museums, libraries in the country are working to make their collection fully digital.
Recently I was reading about an interesting project. There is an island named Svalbard in the north of Norway. A project ‘Arctic World Archive’ has been set up on this island. Invaluable heritage data has been saved in this archive. Information on Ajanta Caves heritage has also been digitized and will be available in this archive.
November 12 marked the commencement of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Salim Ali ji. He has done illustrious work in the field of Bird Watching. I have always been an ardent admirer of Bird Watchers for their patience. In India too, many bird watching societies are active. You too should connect yourselves with this subject.
India’s culture and Shaastras, knowledge has always been a centre of attraction for the entire world. Many people came to India to discover, study them. I got an opportunity to know about the work of Jonas Masetti also known as Vishwanath.
Jonas studied Vedanta Philosophy in India, staying at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in Coimbatore for four years. Jonas has another speciality- he is using technology to propagate his message.
Newly elected MP in New Zealand Dr Gaurav Sharma took oath of office in Sanskrit. The dissemination of Indian culture on part of Indian fills us with pride. Through Mann Ki Baat, I extend best wishes to Gaurav Sharma ji.
Tomorrow on November 30 we shall celebrate the 551st Prakash Parv, birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The world over, the influence of Guru Nanak Dev ji is distinctly visible.
Shri Guru Nanak ji had stayed at Lakhpat Gurudwara Sahib in Kutch during his Udaasi, his spiritual travels. I had the good fortune of visiting Lakhpat Gurudwara Sahib when I was not even CM. I used to feel immensely energized being there.

Goddess Annapurna is the Goddess of food and nourishment and is considered as the sustainer of prosperity. In Sanskrit language the word ‘Anna’ means food and grains and ‘Purna’ means full or complete. By worshipping Her, one will never be out of food anytime in life.Mata Sri Annapurneshwari Devi is the Goddess for the fourth day of Durga Navrathri. She is a form of the Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. Mother Goddess Annapurneswari is the presiding deity at Banaras or Varanasi. She is the Mother who graces food to everybody. The Godess of Varanasi also fed King Harishchandra's children. There are many Annapoorni temples in India where food is freely served every day to every one i.e. Dharmasthala in Karnataka. The ever bountiful figure of Annapurna (Lakshmi in her form as the giver of food) giving food shows only one aspect of the process — that of giving. Make: Made in pure silver. Dimensions: 25 mm (H) x 16 mm (W) (2 x 1.5 inches) approx Weight: 20 gms
