(Unlike the Medic playlist, there's no Content Warning for explicit lyrics. Although, some of the songs have mentions and references to possible religious trauma and religious concepts in general. So if you don't feel comfortable over those concepts, it's perfectly fine to not engage.)
the Engineer playlist is more gritty and dark since I was going to make a softer playlist for him but I didn't know what genre would fit him. it was easier to pick a genre for him if he's scary I guess. At least it wasn't country music (lighthearted; there's some pretty good country songs)
Not really a selfship playlist aside from like 2 songs (The Garden by the Crane Wives and It Will Come Back by Hozier) If I were to think about it, they're probably the type of songs he would sing to himself when he kills an enemy merc (he is very normal; i promise /j)
Song List
(Broken Bones by KALEO) (The Garden by the Crane Wives) (It Will Come Back by Hozier) (Bless Your Soul by The Bones of JR Jones) (Death don't have no mercy by Ethan Daniel Davidson) (Hell's Bells by Cary Ann Hearst) (Conman Coming by Monica Heldal) (Barley by Birds of Chicago) (God's Gonna Cut You Down by Johnny Cash) (Blood of Angels by Brown Bird)  (Finger to the Bone by Brown Bird) (Civilian by Wye Oak) (Black Dog Sin by Joshua Burnside) (Lungs By Townes Van Zandt) (Dead Man's Pocket by Vudu Sister) (Psalms by Vudu Sister) (The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie by Colter Wall) (Danger and Dread by Brown Bird) (Old Time Religion by Parker Millsap) (Graves by Whiskey Shivers)

Bruce Springsteen returns to the stage in Phoenix after health issues postponed his 2023 world tour
Tumblr media
PHOENIX
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band returned to the stage Tuesday evening at the Footprint Center in Phoenix in a triumphant reboot of the Boss’ postponed 2023 world tour.
In September Springsteen, 74, announced his tour would be delayed until 2024, citing doctor’s advice as he recovered from peptic ulcer disease.
“The Boss” arrived on stage to an audience chorus of “Bruuuuce!” Wearing dark jeans and a rolled up red plaid flannel shirt, he had the energy of a man half his age. His signature “One, two, three, four” was the only thing that separated most songs, showing no signs of his illness from the previous year. Once he shouted, “Good evening, Arizona” the show was off and running.
Tumblr media
Springsteen spoke to the crowd briefly about his illness prior to playing his final song “I’ll See You In My Dreams” solo on stage. “Phoenix, first I want to apologize if there was any discomfort because we had to move the show last time. . . . I hope we didn’t inconvenience you too much.”
The 29-song show came in just under three hours, but “The Boss” hardly broke a sweat while showing off a strong voice, all the while dancing, tearing into guitar solos, playing the harmonica and even ripping his shirt open near the end of the show.
On stage with Springsteen was the legendary E Street Band which features drummer Max Weinberg, bassist Garry Tallent, keyboardists Roy Bittan and Charlie Giordano, guitarists Stevie Van Zandt and Nils Lofgren, saxophonist Jake Clemons — nephew of original and still missed sax man Clarence Clemons who died in 2011 — guitarist and violin player Soozie Tyrell, a full horn and brass section and four backup vocalists. The only missing member of the band was Springsteen’s wife, singer and guitarist Patti Scialfa.
Tumblr media
Springsteen performed most of the hits in his vast collection, minus “Born In The U.S.A.,” but he added covers “Nightshift” by the Commodores, “Because The Night” by Patti Smith Group, and a surprise: “Twist and Shout” by The Beatles. Fans went wild for “No Surrender,” “Born To Run,” “Rosalita,” “Dancing In The Dark,” “Glory Days” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" that left the rocker grinning from ear-to-ear as he conducted fans singing along like his own chorus.
Tumblr media
This year has been particularly challenging for Springsteen. In addition to his health issues, in January his mother, Adele Ann Springsteen, a fan favorite who could frequently be seen dancing at his shows, died. She was 98.
Tumblr media
Two days after her death, Springsteen performed at the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year event, which honored Jon Bon Jovi for his musical achievements and philanthropic efforts.
The 2024 edition of the tour kicked off in Phoenix and ends Nov. 22 in Vancouver, Canada. It hits 17 countries across 52 dates, including a special performance on Sept. 15 where Springsteen will headline the Sea.Hear.Now Festival in his hometown of Asbury Park, New Jersey.

LUCY MAKES CURTIS BYTE THE DUST
S1;E6 ~ November 1, 1986
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Directed by Marc Daniels ~ Written by Bob Fisher and Arthur Marx
Synopsis
Lucy's attempt to computerize M&B Hardware results in a a shop full of lawnmowers and with Curtis listed in the obituary column.
Regular Cast
Lucille Ball (Lucy Barker), Gale Gordon (Curtis McGibbon), Ann Dusenberry (Margo Barker McGibbon),  Larry Anderson (Ted McGibbon), Jenny Lewis (Becky McGibbon), Philip Amelio (Kevin McGibbon), Donovan Scott (Leonard Stoner)
[For biographies of the Regular Cast, see “One Good Grandparent Deserves Another” (S1;E1)]
Guest Cast
Tumblr media
Dave Madden (Stanley Bigelow) is probably best remembered for playing Reuben Kincaid, the manager of “The Partridge Family” (1970-74). He was a regular performer on “Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In,” which (for some seasons) was programmed opposite “Here's Lucy.”  Madden died in 2014 at age 82.
Stanley is a sales representative selling lawnmowers. His last name is only listed in the final credits but is not spoken aloud in the episodes.
Billy Van Zandt (Delivery Guy) is an actor and writer of more than 25 plays with Jane Millmore.  A native of Red Bank, New Jersey, he is married to Adrienne Barbeau. In 1990, Van Zandt won an Emmy Award for “I Love Lucy: The First Show,” which introduced the long-lost pilot to TV viewers.
Tumblr media
This was the eighth episode filmed, but it was aired sixth. “Life With Lucy” loses its time slot with an 8 share, the lowest to date and the second lowest of all those aired.
Tumblr media
When Lucy activates the leaf blower and scatters seed packets all over the Hardware Store, Curtis says “We were hit by Hurricane Lucy.” In 1957's “Building a Bar-B-Q” (ILL S6;E24), Ricky says that he thinks the re-built monstrosity of a brick barbecue was caused by Hurricane Lucy.
Curtis: “You know me, always keeping up with the times.” Lucy: “Yeah, he's almost up to 1956.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 1956, Gale Gordon had finished playing Osgood Conklin on “Our Miss Brooks” and started a playing Harvey Box in “The Brothers” (aka “The Box Brothers”), a Desilu series that lasted just one season on CBS. Lucille Ball began 1956 with “I Love Lucy” touring Europe and ended it with the Ricardos and Mertzes visiting Cuba.
Tumblr media
Bigelow (Stanley’s credited surname) was the name of a Department Store in Jamestown, New York, Lucille Ball's hometown that it is said rejected a teenage Ball when she applied for a job in their ribbon department! One of Lucille Ball's distant relatives was also named Bigelow. In the 1950s Lucy and Desi promoted Bigelow carpeting. She used the name Bigelow on both “I Love Lucy” and “The Lucy Show” (above).
Stanley: [To Curtis] “We've been through a lot together.  From the pot-bellied stove to the microwave.  Then back to the pot belly.” [Pats Curtis's belly]
Tumblr media
When Curtis compares the extinction of wild animals to the human race being replaced by computers, Lucy says he's been watching too much “Wild Kingdom.” “Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom” was an educational series about the lives of wild animals that aired on NBC from 1963 to 1988. Until 1984 it was hosted by zoologist Marlin Perkins.
Lucy: “Change is hard on everybody.”
In the episode, Lucy attaches file cards to the computer using magnets, which wipes out the inventory data. In reality, refrigerator magnets placed on the computer would not be strong enough to have caused any harm.
Curtis: [To Leonard, furious] “You gave our trash to the trash man?!?”
Tumblr media
Using the computer, Lucy orders a lawnmower. She accidentally presses the ‘1′ key three times and orders 111 lawnmowers for a cost of $4,192.67!  This means the push lawnmowers were wholesale priced at $37.77.  Adjusting for inflation, that would be nearly $90 today.
Curtis: [To Lucy] “I'm dead!” Lucy: “You're not dead, you're just not a lot of fun.”
Tumblr media
To straighten out Curtis's obituary, Lucy calls her friend at the newspaper, Carol. The name may be an homage to any or all of Lucille Ball's friends Carol Burnett, Carole Lombard, or Carole Cook.  The unseen Carol tells Lucy she learned of Curtis's passing from the bank. Lucy used the computer to stop the check to Chadwick Mowers with the phrase “CM decreased” but types “CM deceased.” The bank interprets CM as Curtis McGibbon. [Only on television, folks!]
Tumblr media
Lucy returns the computer, but buys a Robot named Rupert! In 1928, British schoolboys built a robot named Rupert which contained mechanical representations of human organs!
Curtis: [To Lucy] “Listen to me!” Lucy: “I don't have to, you're dead!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On “The Lucy Show,” Mr. Mooney (Gale Gordon) installed a computer at the bank in “Lucy, the Superwoman” (TLS S4;E26)…
Tumblr media
and again in “Lucy and Bob Crane” (TLS S4;E22).  Both aired in 1966!
Tumblr media
On a 1972 “Here's Lucy” Harry Carter (Gale Gordon) installed a giant computer named EXMO III in the office as “Lucy's Replacement” (HL S4;E19).
Tumblr media
Prior to that Lucy Carter tried her hand at computer dating in 1968′s “Lucy the Matchmaker” (HL S1;E12). The comic payoff of most episodes featuring computers was having them short-circuit and run amok!
Tumblr media
Lucy Carmichael encountered robots played by mime Larry Dean in “Lucy and the Ceramic Cat” (TLS S3;E16)...
Tumblr media
and again in “Lucy and the Robot” (TLS S4;E23).
This Day in Lucy History ~ November 1st
Tumblr media
"Mr. and Mrs. TV Show" (ILL S4;E5) – *November 1, 1954
* This episode's original broadcast was pre-empted. It eventually aired Monday, April 11, 1955.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Helps Danny Thomas” (TLS S4;E7) – November 1, 1965
Tumblr media
"Lucy and Her All-Nun Band" (HL S4;E8) – November 1, 1971

Our Walkin’s Done

Frankie “Catfish” Morales x GN!reader
Read on AO3
Summary: At summer’s end, you and Frankie go through the motions of your last evening together.
Word Count: 456
Warnings: Angst, alcohol consumption, being in crowds, inevitable separation
A/N: Thinking of my beloved @mesmorales . I got this idea quite a while ago, but then you posted about your upcoming birthday so I kicked it into gear to get this done on time. Happy birthday, dear heart and most definite pal. 🥰🥳 I adore you to no end. I am thankful for you every day. ♥️ This ain’t much, but it’s honest work. Many thanks and lovins to our @acrossthesestars for encouraging me and making me use my critical thinking. Title is from “None But the Rain” by Townes Van Zandt.
~≈~≈~
September plays host for many bittersweet moments. The last of the golden days will soon cede to a stagnant chill. It is a period of mourning the sun-kissed afternoons that stretch long into the evenings before those pleasures have even been lost yet. Although there are weeks of pleasant autumn weather ahead, several shops are either in the process of closing for the season or already closed, dormant til the spring when tourists would flow in again.
Frankie meets you at the pier. You feel yourself pulled into his space, no prompt by touch or beckoning necessary. The pier is empty save for you as music and food vendors keep all visitors occupied downtown.
You and Frankie have reached your September.
You reach for his hand and he leads you off the pier and up the shoreline. Aimlessly walking the beach shoulder to shoulder. The conversation can hardly be called a conversation, each topic starts and stops haltingly. You realize something needs to happen. You need direction.
Both of you are too preoccupied to see you have the rest of the night to enjoy. Instead the evening has been altered by a prolonged adieu akin to that awkward walk in the same direction after already saying goodbyes. Except now it’s hours later and you’re still awkwardly together. Delaying the obvious inevitable that neither can bring up. Avoidance, disappointment even, are to be expected. But there are no cheerful attempts to distract each other from it either.
…….
He pulls you along to dance back by the mixing table, away from the bulk of the crowd. You stay close, but it’s less from his grip and more that there’s nowhere else to be.
“I love you.”
He tenses, as do you, then mutters about getting you each another drink from the beer gardens. You nod noncommittally, but he leaves without seeing. He’s tended to do that, even before tonight. After losing sight of him in the crowd, you try and fail to focus on the band. The open patio lets in the sea breeze, but it does little to clear the stuffy air that hangs over everyone. You seek refuge outside. Even before tonight, you’ve tended to do that.
Frankie, with two bottles in hand, sees your departure. He doesn’t hurry since you haven’t given him reason to. Several yards down the beach, you curl up on a large driftwood trunk. He joins you. And you talk.
You feel your pull to Frankie recede.
It drifts away with the ebbing ocean.
Untied and no tide.
He leaves but not before seeing.
Seeing the acceptance that mirrors his own.
You and Frankie have reached your September.
But October is just around the corner.
And there are no ties.
~≈~
Mary, I swear you’re gonna have a happily ever after with Frankie one of these days, we just gotta write it. 😭😂 Happy birthday again, my dear. 🥳🧡
